I came in yesterday (9/8/20) to get my necklace fixed that had broken in two places on the chain. I was pleasantly greeted by a friendly young lady. I had a bracelet repaired here, and the intake was professional, fair-priced and I felt very comfortable leaving my jewelry for repair. It needed its loops repaired (where they were wearing thin) and they did and incredible job matching materials. Have every intention of making this shop “my jeweler”.

Went here to get my engagement ring resized and the entire experience was timely, considerate, and high-quality.I read in multiple articles that a ring resizing could take multiple days but they resized my ring within a handful of hours. My ring was also custom-designed and the workers went out of their way to ensure the design was preserved despite needing to cut out portions for the resizing.I also commend their measures for COVID safety precautions - you have to buzz in to enter the store which helps ensure only a couple of customers are inside at a time, as theres limited space inside the store.
I brought my wedding ring in for service because it was getting worn and I feared that I might lose a stone. Both people that helped me were very courteous. I really like that all repairs and work are done in house.
I have a very old, extremely delicate gold chain that snagged on a sweater and broke. These guys were super efficient and professional and had it fixed and ready for pickup within hours. Their business modifications for covid were extremely thorough and helpful (ie forehead thermometer, masks, and sanitizer at the door and sanitizing light for jewelry) and I loved the text updates to let me know when my item was ready for pickup. Will be returning in the future!
I recently asked Gems and Jewels to adjust my wedding ring to a smaller size. They were extremely prompt and their customer service was great. I then purchased a ring from them for my upcoming anniversary. They were helpful, kind, and efficient throughout each interaction. They also had a great inventory of rings in a wide array of styles. I would recommend them to anyone for cleanings, adjustments, or purchases!
Jeffrey and Lourdes own this wonderful store (and another one on Broadway in Belmont Heights). They employ talented and courteous artists and workers and are very fair in their pricing. Theyve repaired many of my pieces in recent years and Ive purchased gifts for myself and friends. Always exceptional and beautiful jewelry. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Staff was friendly and did a good job however it was way too overpriced. I came in asking for a simple engraving on a pendant about 7 characters. No special characters very simple. Address also needs to be updated, I went to their Broadway location and found nothing called many times with no response only to be told they closed that location down months ago. Probably won’t come back to use their services
Little pricey for two broken chains.60 for one and 90 for the other, yet both chains have broken multiple times in the past so hopefully they wont brake anymore plus they looked like new when I picked them up. I swear they shined more than they did from the 1st day I purchased them. So, I guess I could say Im very happy with the end results😁
Gems & Jewels is a wonderful jewelry store. They worked with us to design a custom engagement ring that took onto account our aesthetics and budget. The ring is absolutely gorgeous and unlike any other I have seen. They also provide semi-annual cleaning and insoection. I feel very well taken care of!

Very nice people and great service all around. Got my 2 chains fixed and cleaned up. Very satisfied of how they are which looks brand new. Got them done for a decent price cuz they was worn and broken so I would def recommend going here to get your chain fixed.

After going to multiple jewelry stores to have a ring designed, this is the first place who would incorporate some of my own stones in to the design. Now that my perfect ring is made, they inspect/polish it every 6months and, while that may seem a little standard, its the fact that they remember who you are on a personal level each time you walk in. Im overall very pleased with the work and the dedication the jewelers took getting the piece right.
The staff here is so friendly and knowledgeable. Eric helped me to repair a necklace and to solder my wedding rings together. They did amazing work on both pieces and were actually able to save the original clasp on the necklace.Thank you so much!!
The place was nice & clean. The gentleman that helped me was nice & very helpful. My item was fixed perfectly & ready earlier then they originally told me. The only reason I took away a star was for the original lady that helped me when I dropped my item off. I dont recall her name but she was not friendly AT ALL, & overall just treated me like I was inconviencing her. Other then that it was a good experience.
Very professional service. They resized my engagement band and wedding band on site. It was done in less than 2 hours. This is a much better option than sending rings out for 2 weeks to be sized. Highly recommend this jeweler.

After many months of searching for the perfect ring, my now wife and I walked into Bixby Gems and Jewels and met Jeffrey. This little jewelry shop on Atlantic Avenue in bixby knolls is doing the most fabulous jobs on various pieces of old jewelry I’ve brought in for repair and cleaning. Most recently they converted a lovely old brooch of mine that I haven’t worn in ages into a pendant and it looks just wonderful. I recommend you check them out! They also have a very nice selection of jewelry.

Unusual Pieces. Relaxed Atmosphere. Great Service.I popped into Gems and Jewels with a friend to have a watch battery replaced and immediately became entranced by the interesting selection of pieces--traditional, antique and artisan. I dont often frequent such jewelry shops because I usually feel evaluated by smug, bejeweled clerks based on the way Im dressed and the jewelry Im wearing. Here, we were warmly greeted by Nuket Karagulle who took very seriously our questions about the stones in a bracelet my friend had with her. As they were chatting, I perused the cases and was taken with a number of pieces. I bought the little number pictured and havent taken it off since. Nakut had French cafe music playing and made our time there fun and relaxed. Shopping locally owned, independent stores is what will ensure Long Beach remains the interesting city it is!

Charles was extremely helpful and repaired all the prongs on my wedding ring. The previous prongs were not the best and I lost one of the smaller diamonds due to this problem..No further problems expected. Good to find a jeweler you can trust.

Not Happy with them they dont even deserve 1 star, a ring I had redone by them stone fell out 8 months later they would not stand by there work wanted to charge me over $500 to re do it beware these people.

2022-04-16Everyone who has jewelry they love wants a jeweler they can trust when they need repairs. A friend recently asked me to get a second opinion on repairs for six rings she really cherishes. She went to a jeweler near her home in WA who quoted her $4,300 to “fix” her rings, saying every one of them needed a major repair (!). She was really upset, naturally, and asked me if I could get her a second opinion.So I took them to Gems & Jewels because I know they have a professional bench jeweler on site. His opinion? Only two of them needed fixing, one to tighten two stones that were channel set — a minor fix —and another one that we knew needed to have the shank reinforced and then resized. The other rings were FINE. Total cost for the two rings was 80% less than she was quoted by the other jeweler!It really makes me angry that the other jeweler tried to rip my friend off that way, and I’m really, really glad I know of a place I can trust with my jewelry. And yes, I’ve definitely also purchased jewelry from them, which I’ve also been pleased with. I am just so very happy I found Gems & Jewels!

Ms. Kathleen was the most kindest and sweetest person to make sure I was completely satisfied. There was also another gentleman who gave me a very educated walkthrough on the capabilities in specializing and making every piece all its own.
