Fresnos oldest (formerly, the only) stadium sized venue for sporting events (ice hockey, boxing, exhibition basketball, etc), concerts of major artists, traveling shows too big for the Saroyan (circus, teletubby/Disney on ice type stuff), as well as local high school graduations, competitions, etc.ℹ️These days we have the Save Mart Center for all the big acts and events. Im not sure what has been going on there in the last couple years. It was empty the last few times I have been to shows at the Saroyan though I believe I saw an couple MMA toy haulers in the parking lot. I do recall about 5 years ago there being a hip hop/rap show with some fairly popular artists (snow that product was on the bill but not sure it was a Strange Music event) and it seemed to draw a pretty large crowd.ℹ️There is ample parking and REMEMBER- METERS ARE USUALLY FREE AFTER BUSINESS HOURS. The exterior is dated and there are zero comfortable seats in there. I have fond memories of the place but it was never what I would call modern nor has it ever been visually appealing, at least not in my experiences (which go as far back to my childhood in the mid 90s). Its always seemed a bit run down or ill maintained but it serves its purpose nonetheless- large indoor arena/stadium type venue capable of a variety of configurations, with a large capacity and ample parking. Honestly it would be well suited for big rave type parties,👩🏼💻👨🏽🎤🎠✨🎡 EDM festivals,🎪🪄🎟️ and regional rap battles🎤🎚️🎧🎲 or something like those...idk... 🥳🤷🏼♀️🙄😔🤓
I was only downtown doing my jury duty. Oooooh my goodness! What an amazing view of our city! Niiiiiice!Sorry I wasnt actually at an event. I plan to return just to take poctures of the scenery! I love it! I imagine the sunrise over freeway 41 must be breathtaking. 😊 I hope to see it for myself.
I have always loved their Convention Center here in Fresno. Its a great place to go see about anything you want to see concerts and special visits like from the ice skating arena and such. I just stopped in there about eight months ago to check and see on what was coming up for the next 6 months there and what kind of criteria were they expecting to have in the rock bands or any other bands that might play at the convention center. Its a great place to do business I can hardly remember stopping in there but I do remember take care give it a shot you might find something there you want to see our go to
The event was OK not the greatest not the best it was just OK it was for September 17 my complaint is I have a disability guys don’t have very much availability for people that has a disability you got stairs a lot of stairs not very many handicap places to sit the bathrooms were outrageous two one side and two on the other side I’m talking about women’s bathrooms they’re outdated you all just need to do a whole new redo on the whole convention center and make it accessible for handicap after all these years I thought you guys were upgrade this is my only bad review then I’m given the Fresno convention center it is not accessible for handicap or for the disability..
Ive seen concerts, sporting events, and been to special events here. Its a nice place and perfect for concerts. Parking is ok if you get there early to get one. If not have some walking shoes. Stores around it to go and get gas and snacks there. They have great staff there for events, never have had a issue with anything from lines getting in the doors to getting some food or drinks.
Here for a conference and their rooms are not well ventilated at all!! Its nice overall and roomy, but our company put up the room dividers and packed 50 people into each space! It was too packed and the lack of cool air made it suck! The bathrooms didnt have any sort of air filters, each toilet didnt have any sort flushable clean spray to avoid bad smells between patrons.
Love this convention center. I have been here for about 3 shows or so in the last few years and everytime is great. The location feels secure and safe, even in regards to where it is located. They also have the BEST cookies if you have time for a snack!Side note, be sure to check that your purse is within regulation size before leaving home because they will have you go put it in your car.
Easy to get to. Plenty of parking($). They check bags and dont allow outside food or drink. We were here to see The Lion King. Amazing show the venue was clean, seats are comfy, bathrooms can get crowded at intermission. Upper balcony first row seating look great when purchasing your tickets but there is a railing that runs along your eye line when seated if youre not taller than 57.
I have attended several events at the Fresno Convention & Entertainment Center. The staff working here are very professional, get people admitted efficiently, and always polite. After each event, we always stay around the parking lot until most of the people cleared the parking lot. Too much congestion to attempt leaving with the crowd.
They rent the place out for a private event that is not open to the public and they want to run security check and restrictions like its there event and its open go the public. They need to let the private party non open to the public events be managed by themselves unless they are asked for assistance. The didnt comply with their own rules, witch was good for us. Because we were able to almost save our private event.
Its not a bad place, but starting to get a bit run down. Bathrooms are inadequate. They have security but not very good security. Before entering they ask you to empty all of your pockets, but they dont know what they are looking for. They say no weapons but I brought in my knife which I showed them when I checked in for our event.
Went to see Britt Floyd had an amazing time, great seats, fantastic sound, clean restrooms,Nice friendly helpful staff, alcohol was on the strong side but thats good cause a little pricey.....would definitely attend events there in the future....they sell food items too but we did not purchase any
The venue is fine given its age. The feedback is regarding the security staff, ticket booth staff, and vendors. Ticket staff says NO bags, backpacks, etc of a certain size. So many people make last minute arrangements to not bring in bags. But looks then as people enter, security staff allows people in with these supposed prohibted bags. All they do is use the metal detector and manually search the bags. This upset many families who ditched their backpacks, bought clear bags, and not bring in the food items they planned for their athlete, etc.... The convention arena staff also needs to realize that this is an all day event of elite athletes and many have Olympic aspirations. Many of them have very specific diets of clean healthy food. To disallow the parents to bring in food and force them to buy from the only vendor (Mexican food) which sells high velocity and heavy carbs is NOT ideal. I also found it funny they sell cotton candy, popcorn, etc....which is fine. BUT they must acknowledge that thist a 2-3 hour basketball game. This is an all day event from 7 am until 8 pm. For many (like us) this is a two day event since we have multiple athletes competing. I hope CUTA renegotiates the terms with Convention Center and remembers the population they serve. Let families bring in the right foods. Take a look at other CUTA tournaments who sell healthy food options .... They are doing it right. I hope the convention staff sit down and discuss the different messaging they are sharing re: what you can bring in, rules etc.... I also hope the convention and vendor considers healthy options depending on who the client is and what type of event.
To all my fellow truck drivers out there heading to the Fresno Convention Center .Beware of the concrete pillars on the corner that surround this place , the streets are poorly lit , no reflection, no nothing on these pillars (concrete barriers) the streets are tight DO NOT ENTER OFF OF KERN AVE & N STREET to go to the loading docks you will not make this turn. I learned it the hard way my mistake!! If you have an appointment early morning, this place does not open til 8 am , park your rig on Inyo street & wait to be called btw loading docks are tight & over hanging trees dont made it better.Good Luck !!!
For many years our business has been promoting services here. Valdez Hall is an absolute dump! Terrible lighting and the cliche a coat of paint couldnt hurt. Compared to Saroyan and the new event building Valdez is completely out of place. The women at the Womens conferences should refuse to enter this dilapidated shack.
Good place for an event. Parking it close and there is plenty of room. You might be able to find street parking but be careful there is a lot of street signs and restrictions on parking on the street, like time limits etx. Location is pretty close to the freeway and very easy to find, but didnt find a lot of choices to eat nearby during the weekend since its a downtown area alot is closed.
Ive been going to events here since 1971! It was here where I saw Santana, Malo & The Doobie Brothers on the same ticket! I also saw the Welcome to My Nightmare Tour by Alice Cooper here. And the last concert I went to there (Im not done yet) , was Yanni. It is a Fresno icon and Ive been Blessed to be able to see so many Great Musicians there.
Selland Arena still has it! Only drawback is the parking lot traffic at the end of the night... no one directing traffic out of the lot and people driving like crazy and not stopping for those exiting the lot... Drivers in the white passenger Vans using a side gate and cutting people off...
The Fresno City & County Convention & Visitors Bureau has always been an advocate of A Touch of Class Chauffeured Transportation. It appears they are comitted to providing the vendors in our area with business before soliciting businesses in other cities. There was a great article in The Fresno Business Journal about presenting Fresnos finest to our incoming visitors and tourists. A Touch of Class Chauffeured Transportation has received the business of many guests for our $49.00 plus gratuity special airport tranfer rate. Thank You for working dilligently to bring revenue providing individuals to the Central California area.
They come to perform against other tribes every Christmas & New Years its beautiful to see. The little bitty ones go out to perform too as well as the younger to older elders. To me its better than going to the circus, the Pow Wows bring things to sale like Blankets, Jewelery, T- shirts, Indian Tacos those are delicious I cant wait forThem to come...

2022-07-05Went to see the Van Gogh exhibition, the parking can be an issue, maybe Im not familiar with downtown Fresno, but the meters in front of the building are only 30min, perhaps there are parking elsewhere nearby.

2022-02-13Spacious place. Only water fountain is available inside the conference room. Convenient indoor food court but they create background noise during the convention. Strategicly located around few eatery places and chain restaurants. Bathroom is conveniently located inside and outside of the conference room. Ample parking space.

2017-01-11I found it fairly easy finding parking and the facilities were great. A few more eateries in close range would have been good.
