I enjoy fox rental car. My issue was the person at the counter was a kinda pushy with buying the ez-pass but couldn’t properly explain the local toll costs / structure. In order to sellsomething like that you should be able to explain when I would get charged an administrative fee if I don’t self-pay the toll or atleast refer me to the material right at the counter. He keeps saying it was over $20 a day, when it wasn’t - if you don’t pay your SF tolls online within 48 hrs, it would then defer to FOX and the renter would have to pay FOX the base toll rate + the administrative fee. Also when I got to the counter, they said they didn’t have my car class size and offered me a smaller class. I asked if they would adjust the price of my rental to reflect the lower class and he just said no, bc I had paid online. I said I didn’t want that class bc I bought full size and asked why can be done and then they magically had a clean car in my class less than 5 mins later? I felt those things were a little deceptive.It was an easy after hours drop off. Had to wait almost 30 minutes for the shuttle from rental location to airport and I missed my flight because of it!!! Aheads up that the shuttle is slow pre-opening hours would have been appreciated. I even called the night before they told me the shuttle runs every 10-15mins even at 4/5 am and that wasn’t true.

We flew into Oakland on Mothers Day weekend. This was our second time renting from Fox and our first time renting at Oakland. We purchased the priority pass so we would not have to wait in long lines. We ended up not needing it because there was only one other person in line.It was 19.99. We were offered a minivan upgrade instead of waiting an estimated 1 hour for our midsized car to be cleaned and ready. The lady behind the counter was friendly, professional, and was working hard to try and get us in and out in a timely manner. The Chrysler Pacifica was new and clean and had less the 1500 miles on it. We are aware of the low ratings and reviews and decided to try for ourselves and were rewarded with a great rental and great customer service that we would expect from any other Rental Agency at the airport. Horrible experience, reserved an SUV months in advance, upon arrival I was told no SUV was available and was offered a compact car in exchange for the same price. Of course I refused as I needed a larger vehicle. I was eventually offered a mini van. The van turned out to be fine but I was upset they did not give me any sort of a discount for not having the vehicle I reserved. Then they offer prepaid fuel. They advertise it saying there gas is significantly cheaper than local gas stations. Not being from the area I did not know any better. Turns out they are significantly more expensive. We also were not told until we returned the vehicle you pre pay for an entire tank whether you bring back the car full or completely empty. Please do not go here, save yourself the hassle pay a bit more and go to a reputable rental company.

I booked a car for a certain price ($455) and ended up paying $1078!!! I was blown away by the increase. I wanted a car in a certain budget range to keep my spending under control and I ended up with a total rip off. The car was not even thoroughly clean. I found used tissues in one of the compartment and hair on the dashboard. The representative was nice and welcoming but the big reason I am not satisfied with this rental is the price difference between the booking and what I actually ended up paying.

They were the only rental open until 12am. Our previous car rental location was closed before our airline arrival. Customer agent honors our rate and provided a car rental for us. Super accommodating. Car was clean and return was a breeze. My first great experience with FOX rental.

No wait in line - fast efficient service at counter. Super clean brand new Toyota Siena Hybrid minivan. It was so fuel efficient my gas was still on full after 6 days of driving. Very happy. I would definitely rent from this location again.

I rented a compact SUV and Charnika was at the front desk helping me. She was delightful, professional, and seriously like one of my friends. She was smiling and so helpful. I told her that my flight had been delayed three times this morning I was in a rush to get to a meeting that I had 30 minutes. Knowing this she gave me all the options, guided me quickly, told me were to walk and quickly wished me a Happy Birthday knowing my birthday was coming up. Wonderful! Got to the vehicle, btw they upgraded, another amazing surprise! Im feeling good! Checked out the car, it was super clean ready to go. The people who checked me out were fabulous. Then when I returned the car this morning, Patricia helped me. She was sweet and helpful. I must be seriously lucky because I met the the NICEST and most HELPFUL Fox Rent A Car employees ever. Can someone in management throw them some high fives and maybe a cash bonus. Oakland Rent A Car has the best team. Thanks Ladies!!!

Excellent service! For starters, there was no waiting time in the front desk. The vehicle availability was huge, even though I didn´t have any reservation and it was new years eve. All the staff was helpful and kind. After renting the car, someone broke my window, so I had to return the car to get a replacement. In less than 5 minutes I received a new car which was the exact same model.

Car was pre-paid and reserved for a 9:30 am pick-up. Its now 12:35 pm and still no car. Rep at counter was nice.Received response from Fox which stated if I can be of further assistance...First of all responder provided no assistance. Husband with rep now and we found out our bill had the wrong last name. We were the only customer they had in the 50 minute wait. Unbelievable!!!

It would be perfect service if the young woman registering me upon arrival didnt get irritated by my questions about the toll deal. She threatened not to let me rent the car. Incredibly unprofessional. I got a good price but not sure Id return. Also, car was dented in the morning and I said that night better light was needed to see dents.
