The food here is usually decent but the service here is just lacking. We just got handed a bag at the drive-thru that was overstuffed and one size too small... so of course when my girlfriend took it from the worker it split and spilled fries all over the inside of her car. The guy looked at us and just said sorry then tried to go about his business. We had to ask for more fries and got a little attitude because of it. Wont be going back for a while. Also, and this is a rarity, the food this time actually was kind of bad. The fries were not cooked thoroughly, and the burgers were undercooked terribly.
Saw this on an episode of Buzzfeed’s Worth It YouTube show and had to try it. For $1.50 (usually $1 but I got 2 flavors under the chocolate dip) you can’t beat it! A warm Burbank evening definitely ended with the best treat. I would bring my kids here every night if I had any. It also has a drive through which is pretty unique for an ice cream shop.
For the price the customer service is horrible. Theres this one lady she has a bad attitude is just horrible. Whats worst is that i think shes the owner. She should just stay in the back and let someone else handle the front. The food is alright. Sonic is way better! Down to the onion rings. The only way I would go back is if theres nothing else around and Im craving something they sell. Even with that if that lady is doing the front. Im not dealing with her.
I’ve been getting the Oreo twister from them for years now. Love their ice cream sweet creamy delicious. Their food is amazing as well. Very nice workers. The girl manager is so nice too. Highly recommend trying the Oreo twister with extra Oreos it tastes like heaven 🍦🍦🍦
I grew up eating Fosters Freeze. I moved to Burbank few months ago and I’ve been in love with the fosters freeze here in Burbank. Food is great ice cream is delicious and employees are always kind. Manager mike is such a cool dude. I literally go there every other day always good experience.
Im a big fan of this particular Fosters Freeze, but mostly for nostalgic reasons. Their food tends to land on the middling portion of the tasty scale, but their ice cream offerings have always been top notch. A little expensive honestly, but its just an incredibly homey location and I always enjoy coming back here.
I have been here about 40 times and heard a first today. I had major throat surgery 5 years ago have to have my French fries extra crispy. I tried to tell the lady and she stated that they couldnt burn the fries which is BS. She also stated she was the owner and had been for 12 years.????? She lost a long time big spending customer. I have literally been there more times then I care to admit and NEVER once had seen her. Rest assured she will not see me again either.
Okay I don’t usually leave reviews but I had to. They are soooo nice the Armenian lady I think she is the owner so sweet so as everybody who works there they all are so welcoming I just love going this place you always feel appreciated definitely not the vibe you get in other fast food places these days. Great food great costumer service.
This location is okay. It definitely lacks in customer service. The food is good and the ice cream is good too. The prices are definitely a little high. I wish they had specials ($1 grilled cheese) like the Glendale location had. I would like to point out, dont expect the workers to elaborate on their menu because they wont even if you ask. For example, I went here and wanted a sundae but the menu doesnt list what flavors of sundaes they have so I asked the guy at the window what sundae flavors they have and he said they have a lot just say one. Like what the heck is that supposed to mean, if I knew what one I wanted I wouldnt have asked. So I just went with the traditional (hot fudge) because I didnt have time to play his guessing game!
It pains me to write this. I have been a huge Fosters fan for the last 45 years. Fosters has the best soft ice cream base in the world--so clean and fresh in its vanilla. I have been a customer of the Burbank store for over 30 years (but less so in past years as I moved away).Anyway, for nostalgia and to support local companies during COVID, I recently drove my family back to Burbank for a round of Twisters. We were so excited. When I have gotten Twisters in the past, the recipe has been simple: ice cream and the mix-in. This week, the local store made the Twister with milk added and several spoons of a THICKENER. The resulting color (now yellow from the thickener) and taste (no longer the clean vanilla Fosters is famous for) was a huge disappointment. This was not the same (and in fact, not really good).I know stores are struggling, and I feel for them. The prices at the Burbank store have also gone through the roof (to laughable levels really), and they now charge $1 to use a credit card (which seems excessive). But I was willing to pay to support a local business in times of trouble. But a business cannot compromise their quality and product like this. So sad, as it was a part of my childhood.
Last few visits have been disappointing. Always the same cashier complaining about her job and blaming staff for not having orders ready or spoken of?Whether you submit an order online or in the drive thru seem to be a REALLY big lack in communication within the staff here. This was brought to my attention from that cashier herself. Didnt begin online order until I present it at the window after it was set to pick up at that specified time.Business seem like its suffering because of this, Ive noticed the last few times Ive been there. Lacking guidance for employees to properly communicate with one another and customer service avenue is down as well.Cooks are doing great with the food though. The food has been a good experience but the service is sour as can be. Overall bittersweet experience.
I grew up at this spot getting the PBJ twister and the burgers. But today I got some food and the fries amount was absolutely ridiculous, easily under 15 fries in this tiny kid sized fries bag. I remember a time where I couldn’t finish the fries because they put so much. I shouldn’t finish the fries before I finish the burger. I hope the management chooses customer satisfaction over minuscule amounts of profit. I just wish I took a photo of the depressing amount of fries before I finished it in under 5 minutes. DISAPPOINTMENT!
I’ve eaten in other Fosters freeze and this location is one of the best ones. The chicken sandwich is always a go to and it’s absolutely delicious. The service was fast and Amir was nice. Chocolate covered strawberry blizzard was sooooo good! Will always come back to this place.
Great fast food, he loves the cheese burgers and I think they have the best fries! They have a great selection of flavors for their shakes, sundaes, cones, etc... They just added 2 outdoor heat lamps, which is nice since they only have outdoor seating. But, weve never ordered anything we didnt like or that we ever thought of sending back. Nice people too.
I waited 15 minutes in line behind ONE car. They should have had them pull out of the way so I could get my small order. Or done my transaction out of the second window so that I could then get out of there. Worse yet, I saw them come out the back door and give the car behind me their order and let them pay going in and out of the building while I sat there, again, for over 15 minutes. Horrible service.
I love this place amazing customer service.. That’s very important for me to see the cook do his job.. Please go check him out his bacon is always fresh and tasty he is fast and clean ..great employee very hard working man all we see is him hustling every time we visit this amazing place I strongly recommend it. But I recommend you visit sundays and mondays morning.. thank you mr Ruiz for your great service…..
First and last time I will eat here. The burger was nasty and dry on stale buns. Shake was not bad but still mediocre at best. I had instant stomach upset and diarrhea for 2 days after eating here. If you want to lose weight, burger and a shake here will help. Being skinny as hell already, plus the price of good toilet paper being what it is these days, I can not afford it.
Normally I love this place, but today I had the misfortune of meeting the owner. Its memorial day, Im beached out, dishaevalled, but she must have thought I was a homeless guy or just didnt like me, any way, after getting lots of distrusful looks from her, my burger comes out with some coldish meat patties and a burger not to order (accidentally pre cooked and set aside?). Poor food, and terrible managment, after I spent 13 bucks and tipped the guy behind the counter! Sad because I was a fairly regular customer, I liked the food and experience up till today.
Born and raised SoCal always heard about foster freeze on the same sentence as In n Out as a SoCal landmark. Never actually been as Everytime Ive tried its either closed, not taking cards, shut down ( looking at you Glendale).Burgers are average similar tasting to any diner burger. Beef was underwhelming not much flavor seasoning faintly tasted. Lettuce tomato onion and foster sauce (thousand islands by the taste of it) were the predominant flavors.Fries were crinkle cut and larger than usual. The good ones were crispy and fluffy on the inside a quarter of the fries were limp and raw and hard inside. The star of the show was the soft serve ice cream. Honestly it was really good. Most companies use similar mixes for their soft serve and If you been around the rodeo you can taste it. Icecream was a little sweet, the perfect texture served inside a cake cone. Classic fare but the vanilla flavor was cleaner the milk taste was fresher.Id stop buy just for the icecream if I was nearby.
Not good service, Ive been there before and I had good service but not today due to lack of not having good communication skills and having to wait 15 to 20 minutes in their drive-thru plus our food was cold.I will never go there again, didnt get any apologies for waiting that long plus having given cold food..
The location of food & deserts has not changed over 50 years. I know friends who had managed this Fosters Freeze back in the 60s. It has been a main stay in Burbank after all these years. Its a little bit of Americana & nostalgia that Burbank has left. Great that it has been able to endure & provide great services to their customers.
Very badd experience at this fosters today they said they close at 10 oclock pm it is 9:30pm we bought Ice cream for the grand kids we are sitting at the tables and chairs right outside enjoying our ice cream and at 9:30pm they ask us to leave because they need to close at 10pm how rude is that to tell your customers that they need to leave even though they have not finished eating what they purchased just a bunch of BS. I guess well have to find another fosters or somewhere else to go next time maybe the fosters off a Fletcher will appreciate our business more
Awful food in general.Just bought 2 chili cheese dogs and they burnt the dogs till they were crunchy... Crunchy, so they literally didnt pay attention to my food and burned them, THEN, they covered them in chili and served it to me anyway. Thanks a lot, I wont be eating here again. This is probably the 3rd time theyve served me shite food.

Fosters Freeze, always went to Baskin Robbins or the like, but today the wife was feeling like trying something different, so FF it was!Staff was really nice, helped me find the flavors and let me know what was out. 2022-04-10Great little place for a sundae or a burger in Burbank. Reminds me of a place I used to go with my parents. Outdoor seating is perfect to sit down for some ice cream with friends.

2022-07-09Went to the Burbank location. Got a vanilla cone, dipped in chocolate (hard-shell).The vanilla was more like French-vanilla, and the consistency of the ice cream was like the frosties at Wendy’s. The chocolate dip didn’t have much flavor.

2021-06-12This place would rate a 5 if the service was a little friendlier. The people are nice enough but they don’t make that “customer connection”.Food reminds me of when I was a kid. I love fried burritos and the ice cream treats are sweet, cold and mouth-watering.Check out my picture of the recent menu. (Yes, need some spell checks on a couple words, but you know what they mean).

2022-07-20I was driving by and saw this place and made a quick stop. Although it has a full menu, i was looking for a dessert as i had already eaten. I chose the drive thru as I was rushed on time to get to my appt. The lady at the window courteous. I asked about the TWISTER. She told me the different flavors it comes in. I decided on the REESES TWISTER. Fyi its $1 dollar extra if not paying cash (thanks to the banks). To say it was delicious would be an understatement. There were about 4 cars ahead of me, yet the time it took to get my order was about 5 minutes. Definitely stopping here again.....Update 7/19/2022: stopped in today as the inclement weather called for something cold. Once again quick and accurate service and great tasting product. We had the strawberry sunday (yum), strawberry cheesecake Twister (also yum), and the Reeses Cup Twister (my fave, YUMMMY!!)

2022-01-13Stopped by this place two summers ago and had a better experience then. My most recent visit the burger patties were not seasoned and the price for the burger was outrageous. 23$ for my meal! The shake was equally as disappointing and had no flavor or sweetness to it. Fries were also not seasoned properly and lacked salt. Ive been to other family burger joints closer to the city that don’t even inflate their prices this much. two stars for nostalgia.
