Everything you need as a trucker, lots of parking, lots of pumps, showers, laundry, Dennys and fresh Pjs Pizza. Staff was awesome and they even seem to go the extra mile to pick up and empty trash around the facility, definitely cleaner than Im used to a CA truck stop being. Excellent location too with a Loves across the street with an Arbys and Burger King right next door. Its not often a trucker has options! 👍😎🍕🍔🥞🧆🌭🍺
Flying J is about as good as a truck-stop gets, I suppose. I did not try to use the showers but the bathrooms are clean and they have an interesting restaurant. Rather than the usual hamburger joint, the place has mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, roast beef, meatloaf, and other more homey type foods. Although I dont eat meat, I do appreciate the variety.and they do have fruit and packaged salads in the store . The gas prices are slightly higher than what I paid in Sacramento on my way here, but not bad for the area. There is some kind of continuous hum, I think from the factory across the street, that bothers me but, for most people who are able to filter out noise, I dont think most would find it troublesome. The People here are nice and dont bother you when you stop for the night while traveling. All in all, a decent place to get some grub and sleep.
Cold showers only. And instead of putting a sign by the register where you pay for the shower, they put it by the shower so you either completely miss it or dont see it until after youve already paid for your shower. They dont do the greatest job cleaning either.Edit: Hot water came back mid shower. But Ive also noticed the speaker in my shower is in the process of falling out of the ceiling.
Fueling was fine but when I noticed that I had a tire that was close to going bad I contacted the on-site tire repair I was informed that they couldnt repair the tire because it was a passenger car tire and that they wouldnt have tools small enough to do the job.. After informing them of the type of tire that it was then it became another issue in that their company policy says they cannot service passenger car tires... I again reminded them of the type of tire and that I also had the replacement already they hung up... Honestly really? If they dont know the business they truly shouldnt be in the business...Please note the truck that the so-called passenger tire was attached to and the tire size.235/75/17.5 this is a absolutely standard tire size for nearly every RGN / Cozad or equipment hauling trailer out there. Flying J needs to educate themselves on the trucking industry and what we use. Also this is just an observation that I thought it was a little odd. It can be for numerous reasons but I noticed that there are a huge number of female reviewers that have reviewed this location. It is ONLY an observation that I personally thought that maybe it should be considered. Flying J is in fact a travel center however if you look at the actual client base being more male (trucking industry is just that way) and honestly it is a huge portion of the Flying J customer base. Take this statement for whatever it is worth but could there be a portion of your customer base that is possibly not reviewing your location for some reason? Hmmmm...
*NOT VAN DRIVER FRIENDLY*The manager would not let me shower. He said showers were for professional drivers only, which apparently to him means only tractor drivers.I drive a delivery van all over the country. Ive always gotten fuel and showered at Pilot/Flying J. Corporate even gives me shower points for gasoline. Its a real hit to the face when youve been on the road for 3 days and get denied a shower. Managers were not helpful even after corporate told them they were wrong.Just drive to the next one or go to Loves, its not worth it.
Since when do they teach drivers to pull into spots instead of backing in? I just love sitting here knowing that my truck has a greater chance of getting hit now. Do drivers not realize that they stick out 6 feet further which makes it harder for other trucks to back in and also you risk hitting something backing out because you can’t see anything for 53+ feet. Is this a California thing? Or do drivers just keep getting more and more lazy?
UPDATE: Thursday 7/15t21 - Two more phone calls to guest services, one on 7/7 and one again today, are getting ignored. In fact, Ive now been blown off by two supervisors at guest services who tell me theyll send [my complaint] over again to the store manager and the regional, but advise me that if they decide not to reach back out to me, guest services is unable to escalate my complaint any further. These supervisors also apparently have no boss available for me to speak with, but they will of course send an email asking their boss to call me which they in turn may choose not to do. Theyre is no other escalation available to me. Period. So, their solution is for me to speak to the GM Matt of this store who is the person I am complaining about (if, of course GM Matt even bothers to call me), hope GM Matt then sees my point of view and agrees that he is an issue and something ought to change, and cross my fingers that GM Matt will then tell on himself to his boss, Regional Manager Mr. Kelly Kennedy, who likely is also complicit in the inappropriate bullshit that caused this complaint in the first place. Now, RM Kyle would then have to agree that his shit stinks as well and take the appropriate corrective and disciplinary action. Good, right? Thatll totally work, right? Yeah. Right. Sounds like the biggest middle finger Ive ever gotten. I think that since they seem to know everything they feel they need to before I say anything by looking at my call history maybe Ill just call from a different phone number next time and see if I get different results. Cuz Im sick of getting fucked off. This shit is insulting as fuck.UPDATE: Friday 7/2/21 - Apparently the GM intercepted my complaint last week and it never made it to the regional manager. After being told that their policy had not changed everyone can still take a shower by customer service, I was again turned away for a shower this morning. GM Matt told his staff that this new policy was approved by corporate special for this location only, though I doubt theres any truth to that. I again reached out to corporate and am again awaiting a return phone call. As of right now, though, no shower for me cuz Im homeless.Friday 6/25/21 - I was just turned away for a shower, a new policy apparently. Im a regular customer of this store, I spend my money here every single day. I also happen to be homeless and today I was not allowed to shower because of a new policy. Apparently, only professional drivers currently parked in their lot can use the showers and the public laundry facilities. The issue is that the general manager doesnt like homeless people and he saw this as an opportunity to keep them out of his store. There is no protected class for homeless or poor people so this general manager can legally discriminate. And thats exactly what he decided to do. I reached out to corporate guest services and am waiting to hear from the regional manager. In the meantime, though, I still need to take a shower and Im wondering where exactly homeless people are supposed to shower now?(We wound up having to make a 50 mile round trip to take a shower elsewhere.)
Reserved Parking... Save your money. This location does not and will not enforce it. Ive paid for it 3 different times with trucks next to me who admitted to me they have never paid for it and never been told to move. My last visit I paid and parked at the end with the no parking zone next to me NO PARKING painted in the striped area and 2 trucks still parked there next to me for the night. Save your money dont be a fool like I have been with this facility, other than that this facility is one of the better ones that has a Dennys and a subway along with a hot deli. Friendly staff
I read other reviews about this truck stop and I will say that the store was clean and the restroom was okay on the Dennys side. But, if you are a truck driver and need to wash your clothes or take a shower BEWARE. The washer looked as if they have not been cleaned since they were put in. The toilet in the shower was nasty and had not seen a toilet brush in weeks. I can not even tell you what the build up was on the sink.I just thank God I had cleaning supplies with me. I will suggest you clean before you use it and wear shower shoes. Which I always do wear. I always carry my own towels. I highly recommend you do the same.
Clean restrooms, wide variety of fast food restaurants located in the same area, friendly staff, and you can buy propane by the gallon. If buying propane during odd hours, say 10pm or so, just be sure to call ahead to make sure they have someone available to dispense it. You might have to wait a few minutes but they are very accommodating.
Bathroom was spotless! Not something I have ever seen at any gas station. Makes this the only place I can safely stop to take a break with the kids. The staff is so friendly and professional. The cinnabons are a warm delicious treat. Great selection of food, drinks and snacks for everyone in the family. Never have to wait long to fill up on gas and coffee.
Lots of homeless and panhandling. Managers wont give truck drivers quarters for laundry apparently their still in a coin shortage lmfao while the rest of the country isnt. Lmfao truck lot fills up fast. Still no driver lounge. Showers are always nice and clean though.
Fast customer service. Great gas prices...lots of food choices and your kids will enjoy themselves. Its awesome to have many choices. Now, although I havent used them at all...it is nice to know they have showers. Good to know you can get a little refresher on a long drive. The file sugar stop in are cool and are kind and just moving along.Safe. Kind. Fun.Clean.I highly recommend dropping in and giving them a try. You wont be sorry.
Gas prices are good. Facility is well lit. Cashiers are nice & friendly. Its open all night. This is the place to go for pizza any time of day, any day of the week, especially when everything else is closed.Due to the Covid pandemic, everything closes early & going home to kids without food is out of the question. I dont know any other place where you can get a freshly made pizza with fresh toppings after hours.
Went to take a shower and the room was freezing along with the water in the shower was cold. This place gets added to the do not shower list. After a hard days work is it too much to ask for a freaking HOT shower??? The other issue is they do not enforce parking. So many trucks park in no parking zones and non-parking spots so that other trucks cannot get out when they need to or back in to park in a legal spot. Its absolutely ridiculous.
I hate the prices at these truck stops but I understand if you drive a big rig with the points and everything its not to bad. Unfortunately I drive a 1ton pick up hit shot.I have come to greatly appreciate pilot the employees always speak your treated like humans. We have all been to the um foreign owned and operated places your luck if the let you use the bathroom somehow across the whole united States all their bathrooms are out if service. There is one across the street from this pilot and it has some kind of excuse why you cant use there bathroom just crazy. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND HARD EARNED MONEY AT FORGEIGN OWNED AND OPERATED FUEL STOPS.
Had fresh cinnamon buns which were delicious with my cup of coffee. we were there at 6:15 a.m. and it was funny to see how busy this gas station was. Im glad theyre doing okay. nice place to stop off from the freeway if you dont want to enter the mall area thats exactly across the exit. This can get you in and out a lot Quicker
Best truck stop! You can buy gas and diesel, food, clothes and other different staff and products for trucks and car.Clean showers.Subway which inside the store very very good! Love it!Denis restaurant very good.A lot of parking lots for truck. Also RV parking.Close to truck stop Blue Bacon truck wash and oil change shop.Overall really awesome place to stop.Very helpful and friendly staff. Recommended 100%
Stop here a lot on our travels over the past 20 years. A lot of improvements, restrooms are surprisingly clean considering high usage. Huge selection of snacks and lots of useful gadgets if needed. Checkout always seems a bit on the slow side which costs a star, but the checkers all seem to be working hard and in a good mood. Large fueling area, lots of pumps so rarely have wait for gas, and the gas price has always been very competitive.
Gas prices are normally the lowest in my area. The place is always clean, and well stocked. They have some the friendliest employees I have interacted with. Especially the ones who work late night, early morning. I go in very often and they are very nice, helpful, courteous.
We normally love stopping here for gas and snacks on road trips, but were not happy that they are not enforcing face covering policy during pandemic. Saw several people not wearing masks at the Subway, touching their faces, touching everything on the counter, and neither the three Subway employees or the Flying J employee right behind them said a word. There were signs on the entrance and at at Subway that masks are required. Not happy, and finding a new pit stop.
Customer service is okay but they could improve by being nicer to customer. Coffee bar outdated. There is no bean to coffee here. Been told there working on it for a while. Restrooms are very clean but the showers need improvement. Cold water in the middle of a hot shower. Parking lot full 90% of the time. Get here early if you want parking.
I love this place.. easy on and off freeway great for late nights.. great to stretch and power nap in your car. Never drive if your tired. Plenty of different foods to choose from.. Dennys for one that is very good food.. subway.. and a variety of flying Jays selections
Very nice and clean place to keep a shower here ate and enjoyed some time to relax. Staff was great. Best customer service I got in years at the pilots/flying j. I never stop here just go to 49ner to n sac. But if love these better. Now it where I stop at rest shower eat fuel and go. Thank you and give that 1am staff many thanks. Keep up the great work.
Flying Js are the best! Huge parking lots. Lots of gas and diesel pumps. The food inside is great. Bathrooms are large and clean. They are good at getting a lot of people through in a hurry. Easy to spot from the freeway and easy to get in and out of. Great spot to stop for fuel and a bite to eat.
I stopped here this morning, as I have every morning for some time. When I went to pay for my items I was asked to donate my change, I am well aware of these places doing this and collecting the tax break as the donation is written off. When I said no I dont want to, they refused to sell me my items. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS! This is ridiculous, Im tired of this practice of asking for donations when you pay for items. I will never come here again.
Good place to grab a quick meal and get fuel. They have both the RV and Truck islands separate so if you are either one you wont be waiting on the other. The drivers tend to be pretty curtious and pull forward when done and they do have time clocks up above each island so that you can pick an island that is most likely to be free for fueling so you can get in and get fueled as soon as possible. They have really good coffee and I mean fresh gourmet (machine made mind you). They have a fair amount of showers and other more essential needs in the shop area. Parking can and tends to be a little bit tough though since this is on a main artery of transportation. All in all a good place to stop and get what you need..
To the guy saying the points help drivers.... No they do not. The prices are inflated and there is no reason for it. You can partly blame Flying J and then blame Commiefornia. This stop never has any decent food. The stuff they call food actually looks more appealing as vomit.
We stopped here to eat at the Dennys attached. We were pulling a camping trailer with an F350. There are about 5 parking spaces that could accommodate us, but all were taken. There were a number of other spaces that could accommodate us, but they are now reserved, and you have to pay to park your rig so you can spend your money inside. We had to park at another gas station across the street and walk to the restraunt.
Best pizza out of a truck stop Ive had yet - & Ive had alot to compare to... I always order a whole one to go - fresh cooked. The lady that usually takes care of the coffee area in the morning does a terrific job. Always fresh coffee - actually cleans the makers inside & out - keeps counters clean & everything stocked. And for being a busy stop, its usually pretty clean inside.
Very RV friendly! You can reserve RV parking (for a price), there were 3 RV parking spots close to the Dennys end of the building, one being reserved for RV&s with disability plates or placard. The dedicated to pumps with dump station easily accessible. Propane available nearby. Fabulous customer service!
(Dennys) One star for service....not the food. Your drink order will take place reasonably fast. Dont expect to see your waitress between the time your order is taken and served. Once the order has been taken your needs are no longer a concern. You will have a waitress for your area...waitresss from other tables wont even make eye contact with customers outside of their area as they dont feel its their job. Lack of team work.Food and price is reasonable.
This is a smaller flying J. Close to half the parking lot is reserved, $15 gets you a spot from 1600 to 1500. Yeah, once you leave they reserve the right to rent that spot. The showers are mediocre, decent water pressure. The bright spot is they do have the new coffee machines. The property is dirty inside and outside.Employees are not rude nor pleasant.
Oftentimes I will stop at a Flying J, even when I dont need to. They are always very clean and have such a wide, varied assortment of everything. Especially nice on a long trip, you dont need to find several different stores, just one Flying J! Most of them have nice clean showers that are very refreshing after a long ride!
Flying j customer service was ok but the Dennys inside had nothing we wanted and half their menu was 86d. It took us 15 min to be seated and when she did seat us we sat ourselves and it took her another 15 min to take our order. Its want even crowded and it was two waitresses and two managers. The cook was good once she take our order when we found something they did have. They just need to speed things up in the beginning.
Its a great location, very convenient and the people are very nice and polite. Always willing to help you and the food there is hot and delicious...Plus,they have Subway with their delicious sandwiches, Dennys Restaurant and their many fabulous meals from breakfast to dinner with all the trimmings.. Some of their desserts are to die for 🤣🤣🤗🤗❤❤❤❤. Then my favorite one is Cinnabon 😍😍😍..
Yes very busy place but very nasty also. From the parking lot to inside the bathrooms it was awful. Then couldnt be seated at Dennys bc there was no silverware rolled.I just cant believe it. There was empty tables with silverware on them.I think the place needs some experienced workers to help smooth things out.
Zabrina was my cashier not very friendly at all. The staff inside Denny’s especially my waitress did nothing but complain about her job.Yesterday was a different story everyone was professional and kind. If you don’t like your job find a new one. I just went back in to get my reserve parking receipt. What a horrible attitude the staff has today 4/28/19. I’m done with peoples attitudes. I’m a paying customer and deserves some respect
This Flying Js is VERY convenient and is the perfect stop to get cheap gas, food, drinks, miscellaneous items, etc. There is a dennys and subway inside and flying Js has fresh pizza. There have a great selection of food and drinks and they have really cool travel gifts like shirts, hats, glass figurines, books, movies, stuffed animals, etc. It is right off the I5 freeway and you can car camp and there are parking spots for trailers. There is a rest area inside equipped with showers and washer/dryer (not free use). Its a great one-stop-shop for all... truckers, travelers, locals. There are a few other fast-food joints to choose from right across from here.
Flying J Corporation folks pay attention to this comment:Theres a sanitation issue at this facility and it involves folks from the Middle East; there are no bidets available for them to wash their lower extremities after using the restroom.I walked into the handicap stall this morning and there was water all over the floor and an empty water bottle -- Ive been to several Middle Eastern countries...The next time I will take pictures and report it to the health department that is responsible for this particular area.As for the rest of the facility I have no complaints and the folks that work there are very very nice.
I really like the the new beverages that they are for sale now. They definitely are more upscale. The shopping area seems to be in process of getting to be better. Definitely a change for the better. Cinnabon has been a good addition however beware diabetics definitely not on your menu. For sale now. They definitely are more upscale. The shopping areas seems to be in process of getting to be better. definitely a change for the better better. send a one has been a good addition however we where they buttocks definitely not on your menu. Would like to see healthier choices.
This Flying J has been here a long time. Today they were pressure washing the diesel bays and they look a lot better. The showers are a bit haggard and could stand a remod or a sound cleaning at the very least. The staff was friendly enough considering the hectic environment they are subjected to. No complaints and will definitely return in the future.
All was great. Clean well stocked employees are wonderful except employee that was dressed different figured he was supervisor or some management personal. Reason for pit stop was to send money to friend in Fairfield and Western Union was available. I Will get to the point the gentleman was rude and showed no manners and had a frustrating posture. To finish I observed how the customer before me was treated very different than me and feel gentleman might have some problem with providing same service to different ethnic customers. Visited Flying J July 2. 4:45pm. will not be a return customer. Thanks
I routinely visit this Flying J as It is my one stop shop for anything and everything when Im on the road commuting for work as well as when taking a vacation. T-shirts,hats,socks an sweatshirts to help you get into something comfortable after using the restroom or hopping out of a hot shower in your own private bathroom.(serviced every half hour makes the shower and restrooms exceptionally clean and sanitized) Hungry? Check out the cinnabon and pick up a hand made fresh that day cinnamon roll. Too sweet, walk in to the adjoining Dennys to fill up and get back on the road. Sodas, energy drinks, hot coffee, they got it all! Peanuts, jerky, candy bars yup they have that as well. Kids with you? They also have stuffed animals, Hot wheels, snow globes. Chances are whatever you need they have it and then some! A diamond in the rough that is worth making your own one stop shop while on the road!
Richard was awesome! The store is undergoing a remodel yet he went out of his way to retrieve the items we were looking for from the OUTSIDE storage container! That’s EXCELLENT customer service! Not many places take this great care of their customers anymore. This is why we always choose Flying J’s over the competition! Thank you Richard!
This place gets 5 stars! Not necessarily because of the facilities but for the excellent staff here. Dont get me wrong, the showers and restrooms, lounge, game room, and store are all good and clean too. But the night manager, Marilyn, and her staff are all extrodinary and deliver exceptional customer service. I will definitely be staying here again, and would recommend this truck stop to anyone traveling on the I5 corridor between Sacramento and Stockton.
This is a review of the Dennys Restraunt inside of the Flying J. I ordered steak & eggs for supper. Instead of being medium-well as I had ordered it, it was extremely well done. Dry as a biscuit. The manager on duty (I didnt get her name; only that she is about 5 months pregnant) walked by my table, and noticed the beef jerky, err, steak, and, without asking me took my steak and remade it herself. The flavor left a lot to be desired, but at least it was cooked right, and they made the effort to take care of me. I very much appreciate that kind of dedication. I will avoid steak at Dennys, but the service was excellent. Good job!
Without a doubt, my favorite location. Other Pilot stores dont have hot food 24/7 which just defeats the purpose of a truck stop to me. Other locations also dont have working soda fountains all the time either. As these are the two things I buy here without fail, the other locations are useless to me. This location NEVER lets me down.
Please dont give me your generic response saying that were happy that I left the review.First and foremost this is a truck stop not a campground or parking lot Matts well aware of the situation out there and month after month after month he lets the same issues go on he worries about the little tiny things in the important things just go out the window, I had an opportunity to observe 2 cars come in with drivers and leave empty day cab trucks park for long term and dropped trailers the locals use this is there personal parking lot and the over-the-road guys end up sleeping on the ramps need to make about 90% of these spaces reserved spaces especially that back row that has the only amenities I buy that electricity to prevent idling whenever I can but when you have trailers dropped and day cabs parked in those prime spaces its impossible almost to get one defeated the entire purpose of that electricity... Matt knows about the situation out here and he chooses to ignore it a little bit of panhandling that goes on its no big deal that is once in awhile you can even benefit from it havent seen a lizard in there for two or three years.... The staff is usually great the place is fairly clean the only one thing that I would say about the inside if the truck stop is be nice to keep the beer buyers and the kids down on one end the counter because theyre trying to buy their lottery tickets beer and candy times clicking a way on our log books. D. Knutson
Well situated truck stop along I-5 where long haulers and day trippers alike can fill their tanks with somw of the least expensive gas anywhere in Northern California. It also has a restaurant, large convenience area, and showers/rest area for those driving 18-wheelers. Its almost always super busy due to its location and value prices.
I love to stop here. Fuel is always cheaper, and frankly if you cant find what you are looking for...... You probably dont need it.One other fact that won me over with this Flying J..... When New Hope was evacuated during the 2017 flood, i did not know about the showers that they offered....... Wow oh wow!!! Endless HOT water and almost a therapeutic water pressure which if you live ina fifth wheel small water heater and zero water pressure..... For 7 bucks!!!! They were also very very clean showers. I used their services alot. During the 4 months I was displaced.A special thank you to Brenda and Flying J.
7/13/20 I ordered ham eggs hash browns with no toast for take out over the phone cause of covid 19. I get back to my truck and their is no hash browns no knife just a fork with 2 eggs and 1 small piece of ham couldnt wait had to get back on the road. Paid with tax approx 9 dollars.
NIce place to stop for a snack or beverage. Fairly clean bathrooms, entertainment area next to the restrooms if your children need some amusement while youre waiting for food. Good selection of snacks and beverages. Theres also a Burger King and Popeyes Chicken in the dining area or you can sit outside too. Merchandise can be purchased inside that varies from travel needs to tourist items. Several gasoline pumps outside travel center too. Friendly staff who are more than happy to assist with any questions or concerns.
If I could give negative stars, I would. On more then one account I have been witness to such dehumanizing of homeless people. Particularly from an employee name Matt, possibly one of the worst human beings Ive ever encountered. On one occasion I seen a woman come in there, who I gather is a homeless women, not that it was apparent from her appearance. She was clean, and seemed very nice. She disturbed no one, wasnt at any point I was there seen pan handling, seemed to know exactly what she needed there and had cash on hand. Yet as she stood in line in front of me, employee Matt came out from behind to counter literally shouting at the woman, addressing her as Miss Homelessness. He told her that she and her kind were not welcome there. She calmly replied that she has a name and was a paying customer who just wants to buy her stuff and be on her way. That she wasnt doing anything wrong. He told her she was doing something wrong by simply existing. He told her he didnt care that she had money, that she was human trash and he didnt want the other garbage thinking they were welcome. He kept calling her Miss homelessness as he backed her out of the store. I was shaking and holding back tears for this women. I could only imagine how she felt. I set my stuff down and went across the street to Loves.
Like many auto service stations, people ignore the arrows in fueling lanes which are designed to keep things organized. In the process, people create chaos and frustration when cars start moving and facing all directions. Worse yet are those that leave their cars in lanes while they take their time inside getting a pizza or sandwiches or whatever......so one issue exacerbates the other and what can be a simple process ends up being a headache. On the trucking side, things go much smoother as drivers are simply unable to move around on the fly with 48s and 53s.The facility itself is tidy enough though you will encounter the occasional homeless or transient.Inside its got more than enough to choose from, decent quality and adequate staffing levels. Healthier choices would be nice but its better than most as it is.Fuel consistently cheap. It might be unfair the rate 3 stars based on customers lack of consideration but there should be a way to figure out how to keep things in order, otherwise signs and arrows are pointless.
I enjoy going to the Flying J as well as the pilot things are well stocked and for the most part well-maintained. Sometimes the bathrooms get a little run down because my fellow truckers have no respect for themselves its. . The pilot chooses to use the cheapest spigot or nozzle at the fuel Island available they dont last and sometimes mechanically they dont function the way they are intended theyre made of cheap metals these Metals fall into your tank they sit in the bottom and they are not good for your truck. I dont want you to think that everything I have to say about the Pilot Flying J is negative because thats not true
Pilot Flying J, no matter what city or state Im in, is always my favorite place to gas up. Everyone is always friendly. They offer so much more than a regular gas station or convince store. I travel a lot and have been to Flying J in five different states and they have all earned high ratings with me. They are always very busy no matter what time of day or night that Ive been there, but they are fast and get people out quickly. Sometimes I go a little bit out of my way just to gas up at Flying J.
Great truck stop with amenities, but I can never get the pump to work when stopping for fuel? So its a nuisance and time consuming having to go in to pay for gas and having to guess how much might fill up my tank. Otherwise I need to go back in to get change. Im a member & its Not cool.
Matt the Manager at this location is absolutely abrasive and obtuse. I witnessed him screaming at a retired old man outside this establishment. The gentleman became frazzled and apologized for bringing good 2lb teacup puppy intro the store. The manager, named above, continued to use profane language, insulting the old man and insisted he vacate the premises. Before the man drove off I take thre opportunity to ask if hes alright. He admits having prior verbal altercations with this manager and further advises hes a highly decorated retired marine and hed never been treated with such disregard. I frequent this location because I travel for work. This is only one of many incidents Ive witnessed personally. Ive seen him poor drink on a homeless man and accuse him of loitering and order him off the property. I saw the man pay for his drink and other items. He wasnt lying. Yet the man who fought for our freedom is shunned by the local abusive convenience store manager because he brought his 2 pound puppy inside the store. Wow....Im floored. This guy has the worst communication skills. Unfortunately Matt will likely not be reprimanded for his behavior. In the off chance he is and gets tha opportunity again. He will be less likely to make those mistakes. This location would be doing itself a fake to put Matt in the unemployment line
We go to all pilot and flying j all over. Everyone is nice and pleasant. We stopped here for the night seeing our delivery was 15 miles away for next morning. We showered wich was clean. We ate at dennys which staff was awesome they were short handed with one cook , one waitress, and o e hostess. Asked where managers were and they all just left staff short handed and went home. Wow. Girls did great tho.. then I go to pay for water before goi g back to truck waited In one of 3 lines for 10 min and when i got to counter this manager or shift supervisor who ever she was was loud rude and obnoxious. Her clothes were dirty and hair all greasy and hanging down while working around hot food . Told me to go stand in another line and called some gentlemen over that had just walked in . Oh wait. But just before that she was screaming at an elderly man. He walked out with his head hung down in disbelief that he was treated like that. I will not returned to this store and I will be filing a complaint with the company . She needs not to be working with the public.
Always clean and management seems to treat employees really well. Very very busy truck stop, but wait times are still good. Definitely will be returning againI have no idea what the other reviews are talking about, because I come here all the time and never have these problems.
I was impressed by the space inside the store, everything was easy to locate. But the cleanliness and customer service was something to be desired. At the subway, myself along with other customers were attacked by flies while waiting to place my order... on my way out picked up a couple extra items and waited at the checkout register, Joshua appeared to be more involved talking to his co workers about complete nonsense ,than greeting guests. Then he was going to charge 10 cents for a bag, with card in hand he said...oh nevermind, youre good. If hes the manager, you all need to educate them on customer service thoroughly. I wouldnt recommend going here unless for a bathroom break.#letsguide #honest #nonbias #reviews
Not happy with the people. Fuel island has a clock for how long they park in fuel island. Yesterday 58 minutes n he was clean shaved b saw him in restaurant. This morning before I left a truck 42 minutes and my brother talks me he left like 2:15 minutes later really ... I even told inside n they blew it off. No respect why respect them. .
Been going there for years the only place I get gas and pizza then this week I go there to use there shower when I get done theres a note on my car because I have tinted windows management thinks Im sleeping in my van and there parking lot is for paying customers only Im pretty sure I paid for the shower I took plus he was concerned about my regerstration not being valid . not that its any of his business anyways but my tag were stolen last week . I myself will never go there again manager was so rude even after I told him I was a paying customer I spend 40 to 50 dollars every time I go there and Im treated like some second class person Hello hearts from now on unless they let that horrible management go
Great food..Horrible customer service. I was paying for a Black n Mild and The lady look at my wife an said, Is she with u? I said, Yes..She said, You got to go over there somewhere..we was both looking shock and confuse. My wife was like huh and we both ask why? She said, it our policy..Policy? We both respond. Yes..If your buying cigarettes than she cant be beside you. I said, He is buying the Black and Mild, and I dont smoke..She repeated over again than reply with I will have to I.D you..Go over there somewhere..She was pointing at the back by the chips. My wife kind of walk to the side a little than I proceeded to pay. I said, I never heard of that and I been all over the world and u came in the store with me. Thats the first smh..So, My wife call the store manager an explain and ask if it was their policy. She said, I never heard of that but people do try to buy for someone who is underage. I am sorry and you should take that as a compliment. She probably thought u was young. My wife said, I dont mean to be rude, or mean but No... She was basically saying oh I know it wasnt right but look over it. She keep apologizing to my wife and said, I will look into it..Its was wrong for anyone to assume you look younger , so I am going judge right off. My wife dont look that young and we both are in our 30s..I have seen a whole group of people together standing with each other and nothing was said, when a purchase of smoked was brought and couples as well..If she would have said, I am sorry and yes thats our policy than I would of been okay but she said out her own mouth, I never heard of that.
Even with the remodeling the place was clean and all staff members were very polite, one of the best Dennys I have been to as well, large parking area for California, Ill definitely stop here again when Im in back in the area , thanks for the plesent stay .. Robb Prime Inc.
Its unfortunate that I have to give them any stars. They have license plate watchers, handicapped plate watchers, they are racist to anyone who is black! The red head and short salt and pepper hair general manager are both guilty of this. During this pandemic and state of emergency it seems people would stand together.
I understand that is extremely hard to control, drivers making their spots, but when you have “No Parking” Tow Zone” and I tell you there is a truck that is sitting there, I can’t get out, your response should be, “Let me take care of it” Not “There’s nothing I can do”. Call the effing tow company! That’s what you do!
Hello my name is Eric Talbert and I go to the Flying J to get coffee and feel up and get a bite to eat while Im working Uber I must say you have some of the most wonderfully kind people there is and customer service and I think Amber who helped me tonight was very delightful very respectful and help me with everything I needed but I must say that everyone that I have met at your service station has been delightful I would suggest the Flying J to everyone I run into that needs gas and get service and good food so I just want to thank you and your Associates at the Flying J for such wonderful customer service Yours Truly Eric Talbert
Always a good Experience. If you dont have a rewards card sign up. Everytime you use it to get gas they take 3cents offie: you pay $3.12 when its $3.15 for everyone else.In times like these those pennies add up! You also get points for free coffee on other purchases.I AM NOT GETTING PAID FOR THIS ADVERTISEMENT! I JUST LIKE TO SHARE GOOD INFORMATION.MAY GOD BLESS YOU WITH SAFE TRAVELS IN JESUS NAME, AMEN!
The management that was here was kind and courteous even though theyre doing construction adding more to the station little bit of an inconvenience but hey got to tear down before you can grow showers are very clean the I also had a man on duty at the time finish hours as people were coming into coming out appreciate the hard work guys thanks
Can I give negative 10 stars!?The two women working when I went in were literally the rudest people i have ever experienced at flying j, or any where for that matter!! The two women that were working at like 12am-1am Tuesday Feb 6Th, have the ugliest attitudes for no reason at all! I came in through the door where Dennys is an my friend was getting food so I walked in the store (i only had my keys with a key chain wallet attached that I held in my hands the hole time) I looked around the store for a min and walked back towards Dennys where the bathroom is an theres a lottery scratcher machine right there by the door. I took $3 out of my wallet and put in $1 and it did nothing but make a clicking noise. It says on the machine to see clerk for assistance or something like that, so I walk up to the women who was working the register but she was by the candy, I told her I put a dollar in and before I was done she quickly cut me off and snapped back saying its full! I replied back with I put $1 in her-it took ur dollar? me-yes, she goes to the other women working which i believed to be the manager and tells her and she says Im gonna check the camera, am walks off. Then the other girl just walks off an didnt say anything to me. So Im just standing there waiting as register girl just ignores me and the manager hasnt walked back out yet, about ten mins go by then she walks back out pushing a cart of stuff an continues on walking ignoring me, so I go up to her an ask so were you going to be able to help me with that? and so rudely with a condescending tone she says no we arent! I checked the camera an you didnt walk over there at all! You walked over here an thats it, I know you never walked to that machine so your gonna have to leave! I said really? What do you mean, I came in that way an walked back over there, I been standing there the hole time I said wow its just a dollar its not a huge deal but maybe u should put a sign if you know its not working. Yes It was only a dollar that wasnt my point, I didnt even care but the way they were acting like I was trying to scam for a dollar when I had money in wallet! And then straight lie about me not being on camera. They had a terrible attitude and I wish I could express it but I cant on here. But I will never spend one single dollar there again and its because of the two women working at 1230am Tuesday Feb. 6Th 2018! As if the situation wasnt rude, the attitude from both of them would have been enough to make me say the same thing about never going there again! Ill keep my dollar next time, an all the rest if my money!
I was sitting in the TV room all day and my left elbow started to itch, didnt think much of it. Later in the day my right one started to itch. After eating my dinner I sat in the massage chair and noticed a small bug around my waist band. It was a baby bed bug! Talked with the guy cleaning the showers and when I told him he had a worrisome look on his face and I asked him if I could run my clothes in the dryer, he couldnt help me.I spoke with the manager when she got back from her break and completely dismissed my claim saying bed bugs cant live in leather, basically insinuating I must have had them or was just trying to get a free cycle out of the dryer. Im an OTR truck driver who hasnt once had an issue with any bed bugs in my truck. If you come to here stay out of the television room. Personally Ill never be coming back. Flying J the least you could have done was investigated the situation to see if there was a possible infestation. Terrible
Nice half way point to where I have to travel frequently. The price of fuel is always competitive for California gas prices and the selection of food and snacks inside the Flying J at Kettleman Road/ Hwy 12 & I5 Lodi Exit always has an attractive appeal inside this very popular truck stop. If youve been on the road for a length of time, you can catch a shower here or do your laundry. Kick back and watch cable television as your clothes are being laundered.
Always find a place to park in my RV here the food is good also and the people are very nice you can even use the laundry room if you need to wash I catch up on the news while Im in there you can also grab a good snack at the Dennys restaurant who couldnt use a nice skillet meal after long travels
Everything good clean. Except two running grils around diesel line. They saying ( we come to pick up friend and no more gas we forget wallets at home.. Do u have 10 or 5 dollars...) me and second truck Driver give them enough money for gas ... but they didnt stop ask money for gas.... heee so funny and lamentable
Have relied on this gas station since it opened. The station has lots of stuff to eat and drink and buy. The bathrooms are filthy. The biggest problem with filling up gas is that large RVs/buses enter the car fillingareas and take up several spaces, block cars from leaving and refuse to use the outside pumps intended for them. Small children should be carried everywhere lest they be run down and killed which is a definite risk. Very dangerous moving from filling areas into store. With large RVs,buses and oversized pick up trucks, it can be nearly impossible to getin or out of the gas filling areas intended for cars. Being close to a large freeway interchange, the place fills up with commuters and travellers, and they are rarely considerate. Loves built a gas station for themselves directly across the street, and that took a bit of pressure off this Flying J. Also this station fails to do a lot of necessary maintenance and refuses to ensure customers can pay from pumps, and some very rude cashiers to avoid.
The gas is cheap the staff is great and they have a whole pizza for 11:99 which is actually pretty good since is pretty tasty theres a cinnabon a subway and a Dennys in here so whether you wish to have a sitdown meal or something to go theres plenty to be had at this travel center
I dont care what the hell happened to your computer system for the showers. Having an attendant knock on the door and yell at me through it was definitely a first. Then coming out to see an another driver standing at the trying to figure out why his code wasnt working. Not professional at all. This is why you deadbolt your door while showering.
The Dennys is horrible. I ordered chicken avocado cranberry salad with balsamic vinaigrette. 20 minutes later the waiter comes with a bowl of lettuce some burnt bacon, a little bit of chicken, and a half rotten avocado and apologize because the cook just told him they dont have that salad longer. He should have told me before bringing out that mess and I could have changed my order
Walking across the parking lot, had to run for it to keep from getting run down by a super trucker grabbing gears off the fuel island, then again on my way back to the truck. Unreal. No management presence, and under staffed... you have the gall to charge 15 bucks for parking, but you cant be bothered to walk your own parking lot every 2 hours to make sure its not a free for all?!? Climb into bed, start to relax, then BANG! the truck rocks, then BANG! Again! Some dipshit truck driver just backed into me TWICE trying to make his own parking spot. Notified the fuel desk, they said they couldnt do anything about it.. they dont have the manpower. Id be safer parked on a goddammed off ramp.
I was poking around looking at stuff, waiting for my boyfriend to come out of the bathroom before we picked out food, and the manger (tammy)walks up to me aggressively and told me to get out. She took the items I was planning on buying away from me, was vary loud, and made an embarrassing sense in the middle of the store, claiming she already threw me out a few days ago, and I was no longer allowed in the store, implied I was lying about not having been in there in months, and started acting threatening when i tried to reason with her, and give her my name and stuff to prove it wasnt me. at which point I gave up, im not going to buy food, the 20 dollar charger, or anything else from a place that throws you out while trying to read stuff and make sure the 20-40 dollar chargers they have will work on my phone. my boyfriend walked up just as i was leaving .. and again then I had to explain to him that they kicked me out for trying to buy their merchandise.
I have a major problem with this place! They allow 4 wheelers to pull into the truck islands. I bought $482.00 of fuel after a 4 wheeler cut in front of me. Went inside because truck pumps wont take his card and then pumped $7.00 worth of DEF! 4 wheelers should not be allowed on the truck side period! Bottom line is I waited 15 mins so this moron could buy $7.00 of DEF. Flying J needs to get their priorities straight. Who butters your bread? Truckers or 4 wheelers? I was told all customers are important sir, sorry you feel that way... Put a DEF PUMP on the 4 wheeler side dumb asses or make them buy-DEF in the store. Your asking for a accident or a fight! There is a reason why joe blow off the streets card wont work on the truck side, its because they have no authority or ICC #. If you want to waste your on duty time stop here. As for me NEVER AGAIN!!!!#
Its ok they have a manager named matt that goes way over the top to go out of his way to, I felt cast judgement on surtian indaviduels namely the homeless he perumes? I am one of those he cast judgement on . On two different occasions. The second one resulting in a call too the San joaqian sheriff for me charging my phone in which I just had a day prior two truck towed off by Pacific towing of Lodi . Later on that reveiew!!!When I waited around for a sheriff to arrive the sheriff at this time in junture was pretty cool headed and somewhat understanding in nature.I kindly explIned to him what my side of the story was and he addvised me that to stay cool like I was ,I felt that after what had taken place I was really treated so. Bad that if he was to say I was homeless Id stand in front of his place of business seeing how I had to wait to receive a way out of the perdickame that got me too this point. I protest by what the homeless can flying a sign ! To at least try and get a bite to eat and possible be able to find a spot for not only me. But my girlfriend at the time.to lay our heads seeing how I just got us ran. Out of the flying Js all due to me trying to save friends . motor home and get the regatration paid for on the S10 I that I had paid for the morring prior. The last of my money for the month. .lets say that I didnt do to well there. But I ended up making few good friends and a few not so good out of the mess. Not to mention. .One Big Learning lession. People in our society are to fast to judge a book by its cover. Why? Ill put it plain and simple .I JUST LOOK THIS WAY. !!!!Yes I have done my share of wrongs in my past and present . But let me tell you this. Ive been able so far so good to show my friends and Im hoping FAMILY! Im trying to be the best man I can for the late Mount of money I was making at the time trying to find the person or persons responseable for stealing my identity. Its really taken me almost 6 dedicated years to find out on my own with the help of a close female friend and partner at the time. This mess has caused us to part ways even due to me constantly not knowing who to trust even having .my family cast judgement on her as well.you see in the last year a lone Ive bee. On disability well the past 10sence realessed from prison. Yes prison .!But, I can say. Im one of the what 6. 0/0 thats made it 10 years with out have to go back make it off parole a d leave state of California and go become a I felt the next Ted terzinkiy not . I use to joke about it but you know thats what I was doing also. Why? Due to the fact we will never know why or how come he really did what he did.Everybody I feel deserves a second chance. And sometimes even another even more. Why, cuz? I was just one of those guys . I was a drug addict hell be t on trying to kill his Pain of having let his daughter receive the best life she could have at the time. Back in those days when I really was homeless they had no programs for single fathers let a lone one who had all but give full custody rights. But I couldnt do that to the lady I really cared and loved and my daughters .other at that. I was only 21 at that time Im now 53.Its take. Me 22 years of prison and being addicted to herion for those same amount of years to realize what our world real needs its something people do t give away easily and it only cost u feelings and a word so why is it so hard to give. Love & forgiveness its all but what our higher power or some of you may call him or her good I see at this if we all came together were the higher power then and I feel bed be looking down at us and saying . I told you one day theyd get it!!Love the nabor as if he were one of yours. Because you just might find out he or she really was!! Or is. Shot he might just be that profeit that he talks about you see he too. Went to prison. And was crusifyed. So let us forgive Matt and flying Js and start something new!! Rt.This is my first act of forgiveness plublicly & community guide
***** ZERO STARS *****👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎The truck stop has homeless people living in it. It seems like they catered more to the homeless people than their paying patrons. A homeless couple has been occupying 3 seats in the TV lounge for almost a week and they didnt chase them out. They have the same homeless people coming into the TV lounge everyday and taking up seats while drivers have to stand waiting for their showers. The parking lot reeks of urine. Since Pilot bought FlyingJ, all the depraved drivers that frequent Pilots now come to FlyingJ. Low class upbringing stays with the depraved. From reading the other reviews, it appears that management here welcomes everything that is destroying FlyingJ. Years ago, this was a nice truck stop. How can it improve if they have turned it into a homeless shelter and a urine dump?👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Nice place. Kinda popular with customers at this location. If you looking for the air, which is free, is located to the right of the store if looking at it from the parking lot, located in the no parking red zone, between the customer parking and the trucking side of the gas station.
Honestly I would have givin my rating as no stars, came in to use the bathroom and neither restroom had toilet paper and when I exited the bathroom they were actually allowing a man to clean painting tools in the sink, the floors in the shower were sticky the floors all throughout the store were disgusting, none of the employees seemed to know what they were doing and half of them dont seem to really care about there patrons, when I brought my concerned to the manager all she did was call maintainence to put toilet paper in the bathrooms and didnt even apologize, I tried to call the corporate office but apparently they do not care about there patrons either as after an hour on hold no one answered, as far as I am concerned I need no longer to fuel or purchase anything from a pilot or flying j ever again, and Im posting my experience in the hopes that the corporate office sees it and other driver see this as well and maybe they actually do something about the declining quality of their stores.
Well I read all the information on the pilot flying j enhanced WiFi and how they spent millions of dollars upgrading their system because they listen to the truckers well I beg to differ.... I got sucked into the heights about the enhanced WiFi I was parked in the handicap truck parking facing the building in front of the pumps and I could not get a signal for wifi on any device 2 even text.... I walked in and asked one of the cashiers about it and she said where you can move to the handicap parking out front where the gas pumps for cars are and apparently theres parking on that side for RVs and a few trucks well the handicap space was taken up but I shouldnt had to move if they have this high-quality high signal enhance Wi-Fi when I was 50 ft from the building facing the building in front of it... So after she said well that space is taken she said well theres nothing I can do so I just spent $20 for the month of WiFi and couldnt use it there glad I didnt purchase the yearly subscription
Not a place to stop if you need to get any work done on the internet. Both paid and free service is terrible even by Wandering WiFi standards. Close-by McDs doesnt have functional power plugs. Carl Jr. Doesnt have WiFi. Burger King does but one cant eat fast food for an entire reset. Good in all other respects. But if you have to work online their Wandering WiFi is crap
I dont even want to put one star but to post you have to Mark a star so this flying j should have there corporate name taken this is the worst truck stop employees very rude and make racist comments they treat there customers terrible the food is over priced and not fresh the showers can be cold at certain times and you would be lucky to find someone that is a decent human being at this place wether you are the subway Dennys or just trying to get gas these i really hope this review will help someone not have to be degraded or put down cause they think they are supreme to anyone who comes to they property I would drive past this truck stop I hope flying j cooperation will come down here to investigate
Ive noticed the management at Dennys in most Flying J truck stops is very poor as it shows in the service they render. The staff here in Lodi is very friendly but service is very very slow and they are not that crowded.I had wait till end of my meal for a refill on my coffee. This is not good especially on this special day Feb 14, 2018
I will continue to support Pilot Travel Centers, though I have to say this was the worst one Ive ever stopped at. Rudeness abounded, while eating at the inside restaurant I was yelled at by the wator for complaining about the lipstick on my coffee cup. When I confronted the manager about this red-lipped coffee cup, he acted as if it was no big deal, and it was my problem for complaining. Trying to get online using their free internet while, in store, I nor anyone else could access it. This time I asked the TCGM if there was a problem with the internet as no one could access it. He stated that I could buy Internet. I asked, well dont you provide free internet, and he quickly and curtly yelled at me: Internet is a privilege not a right! Although I will still support Pilots, in Lodi from here on I will take my business across the street to Loves

2022-03-16Overall not a bad experience however there are definitely some cons. Parking is extremely difficult to find after 4 PM, the showers at this location need a massive upgrade and the way the location is laid out is very confusing. However the customer service was good they had fresh pizza and it was a clean and friendly environment

2022-05-28Bathrooms are a Lot better across the street at ♥️. They put Dr Pepper box to the DIET Dr Pepper fountain drink. ☹️ Store Layout is way better across the street. I have a 3 cent discount at Flying J, but I went across the street to get gas.

2021-04-09Trucker here. We don’t usually stop at Flying J but this Lodi location is pretty nice so we often stay here instead of Love’s (we usually stay at love’s). Not a lot of complaints, it’s a typical truck stop. It’s clean enough, but I wouldn’t say they go out of their way to ensure cleanliness. I usually use the trucker ladies room and there are only 2 stalls, it’s usually hit or miss with how clean it is. They have laundry facilities and we usually do laundry here, too. Parking is usually available. (The pic is some disgusting woman who was walking around barefoot and putting her nasty feet on the folding counter, too. Users beware! I hope she realizes what a disgusting person she is, but at her age I doubt she has even an ounce of self-awareness.)

2018-09-26Excellent Truck stop. Great place for travelers that need to rest between a long drive with space for RVs. Clean restrooms and showers. Excellent customer service they are always friendly here. If you are hungry there is a Dennys Restaurant, Subway Sandwich Shop and for that sweet tooth Cinna Bun all inside. And if you dont like that, they also serve Pizza, mash potatoes and gravy, meat loaf, veggies, fried chicken or chicken wings, corn dogs and for breakfast you can even make your own biscuits and gravy, and by the afternoon soup is on, all nice and hot togo food, they even have a varieties of salads and fruits for those lite weight healthy eaters, what more can you ask for. One stop shop for Truck Supplies, with a Little gift shopping as well. The store is always clean. They even have a ice vin for those that need to fill up there ice chest. You can find what you need at Flying Js Truck Stop.

2022-02-22Cashier Cecilia bad customer service wouldnt let me shower with my class C drivers license but let my white helper shower with his Class C drivers license. She said only commercial drivers license Wich isnt true. Shes a racist, You have to be White for her to give you a shower. I went to Loves Travel Stop to shower with NO PROBLEM.
