Beautiful day to walk through the South Embarcadero in San Diego. Some of the shops were open for business as well as a few of the restaurants were open for curbside /take out. We actually purchased food and had a lovely lunch on one of the benches that faced the water & Coronado Island where we could observe boating activity. We could also see The Clam where music concerts are held in the summer. This is such a great place to walk as there are many areas of interests including sculpture pieces along the Embarcadero pathways.. Majority of people wore masks & practiced social distancing which was great appreciated.
A nice park in the seaport valley area. A very nice walking corridor along the harbor should you decide to take a walk while visiting San Diego. Plenty of parking around. Before 10 am on Saturday the Peking is free. This area is full of restaurants and hotels. Many people jog here. We went for lunch here at the Harbor House restaurant. It’s also very pleasant to walk the dog here.
This is always a refreshing place to walk while enjoying the fresh sea air, stands of mature trees, and upscale marina. You cant go wrong taking a walk or a jog here. The sights are unique and there are more than a dozen places to eat in the area, or you can picnic on the lawns!
1812 Tchaikovsky Spectacular complete with fireworks and cannon and a wonderful symphony on The Embarcadero between beach front ambience and the new DTSD skyline and Convention center all lit in celebration — of just being San Diego. I think it’s “Kansas City with better weather”. You gotta love it.
A must walk of the San Diego marina bay. Grate downtown sight and picture momentum. Run, walk, skate. Or bike. The cool thing to do in embarcadero besides going into the pier, is to walk along the harbor from south to north wich has a beautifull bordwalk, sights, some shops, restaruants, museums, and more. Grate for walks, jogs, and bike riding. I suggest to start from the Grate Midway ship and work your way north.
Great outdoor venue with table seating. Beautiful sunset just before Blues Traveler took the stage. Parking was close and only $20 plus there were free shuttles right to the gate. A fair selection of concessions plus cocktails and micro brews Were available at reasonable prices. Will be going to more concerts there in the future.
This is the most amazing place when the San Diego Symphony is doing their Bayside concerts in the Summer!! Of course you can buy a ticket, especially if you want to be close to one of the super star performers, but its also fun to bring a couple of blankets in a backpack and sit on the rocks just in front of the ticket booth!
This is a beautiful place behind the San Diego Convention Center. Nothing better than walking on grass, seeing the sail boats and the skyline of San Diego is beautiful from this location. A great place for special events. Last night was such event; Mexico Gourmet Festival with awesome food, wine & tequila from award winning chefs from MX & US.
Nice little park by San Diego Bay. This park is less crowded than others around the bay and always has parking. There is plenty of grass to have a picnic and its a great place to go for a walk and see some large private boats. There is also a modern outdoor concert hall here. Parking is free but it is limited to a maximum of three hours.
Review is for Bayside Summer Nights. Ive been twice (without tickets) and have found it to be pretty easy to find a space on the grass (or on the rocks, if youd like a less obstructed view, although I cant imagine sitting on the rocks is very comfortable). The audio travels wonderfully and generally speaking you can see the stage/screen although it might be a bit blocked. Pack a little picnic, bring a little wine and enjoy a nice evening of music.
I live in little Italy and this place is right down the street. It’s a great place to take a walk and check out the sites. From the Midway to the Star of India. There is plenty to see even the maritime Submarine. Walking around down here is wonderful and enlightening.
The park hosted the start and finish of Bike the Bay, a charity ride benefiting local cycling communities. It is also the only chance to ride the Coronado Bridge by bike. Parking around the park is mostly limited to paid parking garages. I have no doubt this is a great park to visit on a normal day too.
Beautiful view of the harbor, downtown and the Coronado bridge, a so super cool burger place, with fishing poles for rent and a cold beer at the pier....basketball courts, workout track, picnic benches, handicap access, the symphony by the sea for free if youre willing to sit on the benches outside, sunset.... youll never forget
The San Diego Symphony finally gets to show what they are truly made of. This high tech shell really helps the audience hear exactly what is happening on stage. The well choreographed big screen displays highlighted the musicians at just the right time. The director, Rafael Payares enthusiastic directing was a pleasure to watch.
AMAZING! We had the opportunity to go to the opening weekend at Rady Shell amphitheater at the marina in downtown San Diego last weekend and it was nothing short of SPECTACULAR. The show we went to was The Best Of Broadway featuring Megan Hilty. If anyone remembers her she was one of the stars in NBC’s show Smash. Many of the songs from the hit series were performed at the show last weekend in addition to performances by multiple other Broadway stars.I really can’t speak any higher of how well the entire night went. The newly renovated Rady Shell is beautiful to say the least. We are definitely looking forward to going to more of the performances in the near future.Pros: parking is included in the ticket price. The venue has food for sale from local San Diego restaurants. They serve alcohol.Cons: Got a little chilly since it’s on the ocean so take a blanket or sweater. It’s a bit of a walk from the parking lot into the venue.Overall rating: A++
Always a great clean open space for my children to play. Of course we bring all our own equipment. Basketballs, rollerblades, skates, scooters, picnic mat, remote control cars, anything of the sorts. Family and I usually play basketball there 2 to 3 times a week. Always fun friendly competitive pick up games. Lights stay on till 10 pm I believe.
They changed the layout. Added a musical pavilion, took away the exercise area and walking paths. Is a public park but now you have to pay for parking, (Plastic only) NO BILLS. Can use quarters ONLY no other change is excepted. $4.50 for 3 hours. Maximum time allowed. Parking Lot closes at 8PM but pier stays open until 10:30PM. Where do they expect you to park to fish? No more 24 hrs.
Such a beautiful place to go for a stroll, run, food.....almost anything. The paved walkway goes on forever so you can get miles and miles of running in. The biggest issue is crowding so if youre going for a run either plan your run around crowds or be prepared. Theres plenty of different places for food, drinks or shopping. You can also swing by and get a little piece of San Diegos history. You can take a walk through the old San Diego Jail. Theres photos, actual cells and history to read about.
Oh! What a great place to visit. Most definitely a one of a kind gem in San Diego. One of the things I like to do here is fish, Wich you dont need s license to do unless you do it from the rocks. Some things Ive caught are sand bass and sea bass some of my friends got luckier and manage to catch a white bone shark, sculpins, squids and octopus. Theres are some recreational areas for basketball as much as jogging and theres also a Gazebo with a nice rustic view of the San Diego Harbor and Coronado bridge. If you want to fish here some thing I would recommend is using live bait such as worms or live caught fish but to also use shrimp since my experience has shown me a high catch rate. Enjoy!
I spent a good afternoon walking along the bay from the top of Little Italy all the way down past Sea Port Village and the Embarcadero Marina Park South is a great spot along the path. I noticed that others mentioned there are live music in the venue but the day I walked here, all I had was the glorious sun and company.I have to admit that this is one of the easiest walking path along side any water Ive seen in a big city. Big clear paths, bright lighting, clear waters, no smells, and an amazing view to Coronado and all the yachts. I have to admit that I think San Diego has done a phenomenal of keeping the park area clean. Its such an easy walk to the Gaslamp if you need some food or drinks or an escape from the insanity of the convention centre. Either way, this is just a great spot to enjoy the views of San Diego.
I live on the 3rd Ave and I come here to work out. There is an outdoor playground and a some good sunset views from the place. Has parking nearby and you see a lot of rabbits if you go here in the night. People come here to hangout in the park, fish, run and play ball as well. Definitely recommended.
We spent the evening at the Bayside Summer Nights Movie event. The park is a beautiful park, lots of grass and trees. During the day the sun shines and makes this place so great to just hang out at. Although parking can be a bit annoying as it is always pretty packed.
Excellent place for the San Diego Symphony. I love going out and sitting by the Bay with the skyline in the background and listening to the orchestra. This particular night was a tribute to the San Diego Padres 50th anniversary. They did baseball music along with some of their regular Symphony music and had special guests from the Padres. It was a wonderful night.
This is cute because it has a nice, long walkway where you can take a nice breezy stroll. There are little workout stations every few feet. They have rings and pull-up bars and there are quite a few. The view is the marina is really pretty around sunset and it is nice and clean as well. You can also rollerblade, ride a bike, or skateboard on the sidewalk. So lots of variety.
It is a wonderful place to take walks good fishing spot for the familySo many rabbis to count I mean they are all over the placeWARNING!!! please read the posted signs of when the park is closed for public, because Harbor police will give u your first warning and they are not playing around with people going for a walk
Went to a concert. Lovely weather, great seats even though they were lawn chairs, great artist Amos Lee. It is on the water. Lovely surroundings, walking distance from our hotel. Joes Crab Shack right next to it So yummy food.I understand that they will be remodeling it for next season making it more like the Hollywood bowl.
Its just great! It has a nice view, its great for just walking with the familyOn saturday morning s you can walk toward the pier and purchase fresh fish & shell fishYes they can also clean them for you (I think its like $2 USD for a complete yellow fin tuna)Shrimp & lobsters are also available most of the year and you cant beat 10 minutes out of the water fresh (unless you eat them in the fisherman boat....)
This is my favorite concert venue. It is outdoors so, sometimes a little chilly. However, if you make sure you come prepared you will be quite comfortable. It is right behind the Convention Center and right next to Joes Crab Shack. The breeze that comes off the Bay is wonderful and it is a charming place to be during a concert. Lots of boats going past and stopping to listen. Then, afterwards, a fireworks display. Also, their ushers are very kind and accommodating to people with disabilities. My roommate was picked up in a cart and taken to our car. If you have not been here, I highly recommend!
Beautiful views of the water/bay and good place to hang out and watch boats of all sizes go in and out of the bay. there are also a few places to eat right around the park. basketball courts, grassy spots for picnics and gatherings, paths to run/walk on, and the pier are all appealing things to check out if you enjoy the outdoors.
The Embarcadero south now has the Summer Pops where the San Diego Symphony brings mid Summer nights dreams come true. The beauty of this venue is indescribable. The outdoors, the night sky, the city lights and most of all the incredible music! With offering of food and drink. What could be more perfect? All at reasonable and unreasonable prices!

2022-04-11A nice place for a waterfront stroll. Parking is limited for a fee and they block it off when events are at the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. Good views of the Coronado Bridge, the city, and North Island. Dining is available there at Joes Crab Shack and a small burger joint with limited hours.

2021-10-09Always a calming place to walk, meeting interesting individuals (locals, out of state & from abroad), take in some breathing site & memorials, and of course then theres the plethora dining facilities to make the adventure complete. I never get tired of hanging out here.

2021-10-25This small park is truly beautiful. Ive been to San Diego numerous times but never been to this park. The park is a bit hidden, so its less busy than the rest of the Embarcadero area. Its perfect for a romantic walk with your partner or for some solo time by the water. We chose this park for an outdoor picnic (facilitated by Boho Picnic Babes) and it was truly amazing.

2022-01-29Was a nice day for a walk in the park. The new amphitheater is beautiful. I look forward to my 1st concert there. Also saw a huge Navy ship enter the bay. It appeared to barely pass under the Coronado bridge. Great day for a walk along the marina...
