Amazing view, incredible...but be careful with your natural needs, theres just one restroom area, always full , more if is spring break 😱🥴😳😵💫💩🤣... take a couple of pampers and a mask no matter what because the smell all the way beside the sea is nasty...but I insist, is a beautiful place....
Enjoyed a stroll down the walkway alongside the shoreline. We came here as a family to see the sea lions and did not get disappointed. The park offers a good vantage point from which to safely observe them as well as other wildlife. From here, you can see some distant beaches and imposing cliffs to the north. I bet sunsets here could be spectacular although we didn’t stay long enough to catch one.
A nice green spot with lot of open space for loner and family oriented activities. Nice backdrop of ocean on one side and modern living and lively buildings on the other side.Unique and naturally shaped trees and green shrubs add beauty to the place.Parking is only for two 2 three hours but may be free. We were here by s tour bus which are inconveniently parked far away. Rest room are available but stock well with energy bars for a long and calorie loosing walk. You will love ❤️ the place. AND don’t forget you high pixel cell phone or Digital camera 🎥
September 18, 2021, a Saturday afternoon. This is one of my favorite parks - anywhere. It is situated in the apex of the bejeweled crown of the San Diego coastline. There is plenty of room and allowance for most any activity. Or if you prefer - inactivity. Right on the ocean with abundant green grass, shaded areas, picnic tables, benches, a pergola or two, sidewalks and limited beach access. We are regional locals and treasure any visit that we make here. Creature watching of all sorts abounds - land, sea, air. Sometimes, people watching is the most engaging and entertaining.Parking is a challenge, to be sure. Patience in obtaining a space may tax your capacity, but if you keep playing peacefully, the lottery win of spots will open for you in the perfect spot. I promise.Enjoy!
Fantastic place to watch the sunset. Beach is fairly small so not a good place to spend the day. Grass field above the beach with parking. Bathroom is under construction so portapoties are there. But if the breeze is going south you do smell the birds roosting to the north.
One of the best sunset and ice cream walking spots in La Jolla. For those coming from out of town or state, though parking can be hit or miss, if you come to this park anytime near sunset, know that the views will not disappoint. Also conveniently close to other walkable views and shops!
Loved it. Seals swimming right close seeming unafraid of people. Beach has a lot of beautiful sea shells. Would love to go back.It was a little smelly because of the seals/sea lions and seemed to have a lot of flies in some areas. But walk along the shore and more than likely you find a suitable spot to enjoy the ocean.
This place is a really enjoyable area to be in. The community is friendly beautiful people from all over the world. their are steps that take you down to the beach and a side walk that lets you walk along the street viewing the ocean. its great to go when thiers a holiday. the vibes are great.👍
Great for relaxing, many sightseers/tourists swimming beach w/ seals/sea lions wind swept trees, kiosk overlooking ocean, rocky&sandy beaches(not too large). Bathrooms closed{remodel}. Bluffs over looking park with Hotels and Luxury Condos. Bluffs with sea birds to water/ocean. On large & deep (sea diving) underwater natural park. Tourist Cave, and many eateries, art galleries, and shops nearby.
No park has more ocean views.1. Scripps pier and La Jolla Shores2. The cliffs over by the Cave Shop3. La Jolla Cove4. Boomer and the Sea Lions5. Shell Beach (good swimming/snorkeling6. Childrens Pool and Harbor Seals (great for little ones: safe gentle beach; May 15 - Dec 15)7. South Casa Beach also Harbor Seals (nice beach but harsher wave action so better for those who can swim well)8. Much more to see as far south as you are able/willing to walk.9. Places to fish all along the coast walk.
Five stars if parking wasnt such a hassle but SD itself is overpopulated. Who doesnt want to see wildlife up close and personal ? Located right by la Jolla cove you can walk to see sea lions ! These friendly mainly docile and warm creatures are so open and chill. This is a huge tourist attraction and for the everyday Californian who loves sea life. The park itself always has fun activities going on and great scenic areas to take photos with the entire family.
Aaaaaaammmmmmaaaaaazing! Full of marine life, a sea cave and seals that will swim up to your face (dont worry they dont bite). The water is cold but you get used to it pretty fast. Its a marine life wonderland with their tide pools and Childrens Pool Beach. A must see...and bring your camera!!!
Nice park, terrible people. It is amazing out people now days just have no courtesy for one another anymore. We found a nice open section of the park with very few people around and decided to play some Frisbee. We were shocked when people of all walks of life had no problems just walking through the flight path of our Frisbee play.
Scripps Park is really beautiful and I love coming here. There are picnic tables and a few barbecues, a public restroom that is fairly clean, and a wide-open grassy space, upon which you may see a performer blowing hundreds of bubbles into the air, kids playing football or frisbee, adults lounging on picnic blankets with their littles playing nearby, and of course, lots of passers-by on the sidewalks. This park is very close to Bobboi Gelato, so I love to grab a sweet treat and eat it here, overlooking the ocean. The views are one-of-a-kind, so sit back and enjoy!

2022-01-27The park itself is pretty nice, but its location is perfect! The grass is clean and perfect for tossing a disc or a football. Street parking is plentiful in the morning but fills fast. Restrooms are available on the street side. From this park you can easily walk to any spot on the La Jolla coast

2022-06-22This is a beautiful park and perfect location! Great spot for children, plenty of space to run around and have a fun day.The park is a perfect spot for pictures, the trees are and the irregular roots and branches make a perfect location for pictures, specially if you also want to get some pictures at the beach.

2022-03-12Serene, great at sunset time, kinda chilly from Dec to March, stinks but mainly due to the really calm seals and water. Its still somehow a place youd want to go spend some me-time, go on a date, for a walk, exercising.Right next to this place is a beautiful shopping plaza as well.

2018-07-12This is a fairly good size park that is kept clean. It sits right next to the ocean allowing for amazing sunset viewing and daytime ambiance. A walk toward the cove often allows for viewing of sea lions and seals which is an added bonus. But beware the smell of ‘nature’ can be a bit off. Great place for kids and family. If you are brave enough, a swim in the cove offers easy close up views of sea life, fish, sea lions/seals and plants. Very cool!!Parking is only down side here. If you can get parking and start to get hungry, there are plenty of nearby places to eat, walking distance. So you don’t have to give up that precious parking spot.

2022-02-13Lovely wide open park with great views but hard to find a parking spot as its always full. Great for families to come visit the seals, watch sunset, picnic and many other activities
