My father has taken his car to Electric Labs for the past 25 years. Based upon his most recent experience he will not be going back. He took his 1986 El Camino to Electric Labs for a smog check. After an hour and a half wait he was advised that his car did not pass the test due to an ignition timing issue and a defective fuel cap. The told him that they could not do work on any car older than a 2002. This car had been taken to this same shop for smog certs for the past 25 years. He was told to take it to another shop, have the repairs made and then bring it back in for another smog check. The two checks would have cost him $189.50 and this would not have included the new gas cap or the timing adjustment. He took it to another shop for the timing issue, bought a new fuel cap and took it to another shop for the smog test. The entire total was $178. Electric Labs should have told him prior to running the smog test that they no longer worked on cars as old as his (they have never had this issue during any of his past visits). He would have saved himself money and a great deal of time. Over the years he has referred several people to this shop. He will now be letting people know that they should find another shop.
The best experience with a shop I’ve ever had . My favorite part was the service report that they send to your phone . It comes with a profile of your car . It has pictures of all the parts that went wrong or need to be fixed. As well as updates on your service . I had never seen this real time update until I went to electric labs . Also mike in the service department was nice and straight forward and made an effort to let me know what was going on with my truck . And Richard in front was kind at checkout. Drove away with a working truck that has been in my family for two generations. Thank you electric labs . !
I have an 18 year old truck (123,000) miles. Noticed it wasnt starting quite as well. After 3 different mechanic shops checked the battery, alternator they all said everything was fine. I called a mechanic who I bought tires from, oil changes and was told they did not work on electrical but recommended Electrical Labs.Luis quoted me a diagnostic for over $300 which originally I thought was rather pricey but the Dealership would have been even more. They were extremely thorough and found the alternator, battery were in fact faulty and pointed out my water pump, main belt were leaking, cracking (all original 03 parts).Needed to be fixed ASAP plus a few more things that needed attention but could wait. Gave me a quote to fix them in the future. You pay for what you get. Well trained, timely, professional & honest business whove been in operation for over 100 years. I trust them with my truck to run for many more years. I highly recommend them.
Very expensive! $650.00 to replace a fuel injector wire. They kept the car 3 weeks. Then, today, 3 days after picking up the car I get a call from a total stranger who said his nephew had run into our car while parked at the business. His nephew told Richard at Electric Lab what hed done and was given my home phone number that his Uncle then used to contact me. I called Electric Lab and was told by Richard that when he was charging me out he didnt know the damaged car was mine! No note on the invoice or anything. Plus, Electric Labs knew we were going to get the car smogged after picking it up. Mike said they should have conveyed to us that the car needed to be driven awhile for the computer to reset before trying to pass a smog test. Because they neglected to tell us, the car didnt pass smog and after the computer resets, we have to take it back and pay an additional $30.00 to redo the test. Just not impressed with how we were treated and how much we were charged. Got the impression from Richard the car damage was not Electric Labs concern. Will tell my regular auto guy Charlie automotive in Clovis not to refer his clients here.
They found the problem Cost me $300 to get the diagnostics. But they tried to charge me $970 for apart I called The Jeep dealer and the part was only 460 at the dealership the dealership the dealership said they would charge me it would charge me 850 bucks to fix it including labor Is electrolab was gonna charge me 1450.
Charged me $172 to do NOTHING AT ALL! A broken 10mm bolt they couldnt fix! I looked after I had it towed BACK home TWO DAYS LATER They did nothing at all. Didnt drill into it. Didnt use a easy out. Or tap nothing. Looked the same as when I had it towed there. Its too hard. Whaaa! Bunch of babys. Thanks for nothing! My hood was left un-latched. So either they NEVER EVEN LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD! Or didnt care if it flew open!? I fixed it myself! Cost me a whole $4.85! I got a $172 pen. Blah blah blah! Just admit it you ripped me off! 114 years of ripping people off!? Thats gotta be a record!!
I just dont understand, and it could not be articulated to me. I took my 2003 Saturn vue in for a diagnostic inspection because I had seen smoke coming from my steering column. Tech couldnt reproduce this, but noted my headlamp switch was loose and may be faulty, and likely needed replacing. Fine with me. Then they quoted me $200 for the diagnosis, and wanted an additional $500 for parts and labor to replace the switch. The diagnosis didnt count towards the repairs. I asked multiple times why it was going to cost $500 for this replacement. And was simply told parts and labor. The whole process to replace the switch is less than 5 minutes.I bought the $42 part from auto zone, and changed it myself in 3 minutes. This is not an exaggeration.
I had a VERY alarming experience here, and I want to warn everyone about this. I took my 2013 Hyundai in a month or so ago for a tune up. There was nothing wrong with my car at all, no weird noises, no complaints at all. It had just recently hit 100,000 miles and I figured it was time for some maintenance care.I had an appointment for a Thursday morning at 7:30. I went, dropped off my car, Luis the service man quoted me $140 for a standard tuneup, but said I may need new spark plugs etc so they would call me. Okay cool. I go home.I get a call around 10am from Luis saying they took a look at my car and I need new spark plugs. Quotes me $250 on top of the $140. Yeah sure. What I expected. He says great well start working on your car now!2:30pm rolls around and Im starting to get nervous. This stuff shouldnt take this long, and they close at 5:30. I then received a call around 3pm once again from Luis. He tells me that they havent worked on my car at all yet but just took it for a test drive and did I know my car was jerking to the left and smoke was coming out my tailpipe? And sorry, we cant do any of the original work or touch your car at all until you agree to pay a $280 inspection fee. HUH?!This was an immediate red flag. My car NEVER had smoke coming out of the tailpipe before this and it does NOT jerk to the left. Plus if they had barely gotten to my car and hadnt done any work at all, how in the world would they know I need new spark plugs? Not to mention any standard auto shop here in town charges $80 for the same inspection.I went and got my car immediately and told them not to touch it. When I picked it up, sure enough it was now billowing so much smoke that even people at the stoplight next to me are noticing. Not something I wouldnt have noticed myself prior to taking it in.I took my car to Firestone and then to the Hyundai dealership only to be informed that there was nothing wrong with my engine at all whatsoever, and that Electric Lab had poured a substance on my engine that creates a white smoke which eventually burns off and goes away. This shop straight up tried to swindle me out of what wouldve been close to $500, and I went in for a mere tuneup. This shop saw a young girl who was friendly and carefree, and decided to try and take advantage of me. Unbelievable, PLEASE do not go here, especially if youre a young woman. And if something sounds off at these car shops, GO WITH YOUR GUT! I am extremely upset that this shop tried to pull this with me, and it is extremely disrespectful and crooked.
This was the first time I used Electrical Lab and I was very impressed. I have dealt with my AC problem for as long as I have had my car (7 years) and they explained everything to me and was able to fix the problem. Two car dealerships had absolutely no answers for me! I will use Electrical Labs in future. I was very well treated and informed!
They worked on our jeep and we have had to take it back 3 times in less then a year because they havent fixed the problem and kept charging us. Spent $1500 and not sure if it is fixed yet. They charged us for a smog that failed because they didnt do what we told them needed to be done before smog. Would never recommend them to anyone.
Mike went the extra mile to get me checked-in quickly. The diagnostics were done timely. The suggested repairs and itemized quote was presented fairly and the work was done well and quickly. I appreciated the care and attention that Electric Labs gives their to clients.
They fixed my car, which is more than I can say for the Honda dealer, and they charged me less, which is also more than I can say for the Honda dealer. My only complaint is that they had it for 5 days and were not at all communicative with me about what was going on with my vehicle. I had to call them repeatedly to find out what was going on and it wasn’t until I told them, that I really needed my car back that I finally got some action on it.
Weve been taking our pickup to Electric Lab for over a period of 23 years. We use the pickup for farming. Electric Lab always gives us great service. They are also very kind and friendly. They are great at repairing our pickup. We wouldnt take our pickup anywhere else for repairs. Another thing that I appreciate very much is that they will give me a ride home and they will pick me up when the pickup is ready. Thats a big help to me and my family. On 5-17-22, they replaced the Serpentine Belt Tensioner and the belt. I brought my pickup in the afternoon of the 16th and was repaired the next day by about noontime. It was nice to have our pickup back so soon.
I was referred to Electronic Labs by a repair shop due to engine code P0101 mass air flow. I made an appointment online on a Saturday and received an email confirmation Monday morning (they’re closed on weekends). I went in at 7:30 to drop off my car and Luis helped me out. I did have to leave my car overnight for them to complete the inspection. They called me the next day and explained the problem and quoted me a price for the repairs, including new tires. The problem didn’t affect my cars driveability so I wasn’t pressured to get any work done. Luis helped me out through the whole process and was very patient with me and was able to explain car terms in a way I can understand. They picked me up from work and took me back to the shop to get my car. I paid $270 for the diagnosis/inspection, which to me, was pricey, but I think, overall, they provided great service.
DO NOT GO HERE!!! I say this with complete honesty, the worst service and experience I have received anywhere. I had dropped off my car to get the horn fixed on June 30th and was asked if I was ok with leaving it for 1-2 days and I said yes. 2 days fo by and I have yet to hear anything so I call in on Friday July 2nd for an update and they tell me that they are diagnosing my car and will call me with an estimate. Another week goes by and nothing. I call in on July 12th and speak with the store manager, Richard, and explain the circumstance and he apologizes and tells me he will order the horn immediately. The next day I get a call from Sergio, whom I initially met with, he asks me if I wanted to go through with the service offered, which I thought was already being done. So I tell him yes and he notifies me that my car should be ready later that day. Wednesday comes around and he calls me and tells me that they ordered the part too late so it would be another day, extremely irritated at this point, I have no choice but to wait another day. Thursday comes and I call around 2pm since I had heard nothing all day and speak to Sergio and he lets me know that my car will be next to be serviced and should be ready at around 4-5, which is near the time they close. Then I get another call from him and he tells me that the technician overheard and will work on my car next, so it will be ready in 30 minutes, finally some good news. I show up to their facility only to be kept waiting another hour because they could not find my keys. Not a single apology from any associate. Extremely expensive for horrible service. Will not return here or refer anyone here.
Great experience. Luis went out of his way to ensure my vehicle was checked throughly. And he kept me updated on the technicians review and recommendations. Services were professional and knowledgeable. And, they were able to complete and meet my needs as promised. Good job!
Richard was very helpful and knowledgeable about my Jeep issues. He explained everything well and gave me multiple options.I received my Jeep in a timely manner. It’s hard to find good auto repair shops that you can trust but this is definitely one. I will be returning for my auto care needs. Ask for Richard!
Rip-off artists. SCAM Warning!VISIT #1: I took my 2012 Jeep to Electric Labs for electrical issues. (1) The tail lights were blowing the fuse and (2) one of the seat heaters did not work. The estimate was $204 each.I thought that was a very high shop rate but the name is Electric Labs so they are going to get it done fast right??The Service Advisor was Luis Martinez.RESULTS: (1) They fixed the taillights from blowing the fuse. There was a wire too close to the muffler and the sheath coating had melted and it was grounding out and blowing the fuse. (2) They could not repair the seat heater and suggested I take it to the dealer.COST: $408 - What!?!? There is no way you took more than 10 minutes to figure out you are not equipped to fix the seat heater but I still had to pay the entire estimate amount?!? RIP OFF - RIP OFF- This is like me charging you for a dozen glazed donuts but I only give you 6 because thats all that I have but you still have to pay for the entire dozen that you ordered!! RIP-OFF!FOLLOW-UP: We took the Jeep home and the tail lights worked without blowing the fuse, HOWEVER, the battery died a couple days later and we had to jump start the Jeep. This was NEVER a problem before Electric Labs touched it. I charged the battery and tested the charging system. All was good. The problem was a constant drain on the battery that killed it every couple days. I called Electric Labs to ask that they take a look and fix what ever they had done.VISIT #2: We explained the situation to Luis Martinez and he explained that fixing the tail lights could not cause a drain on the battery and that the seat heater was an open circuit and could not cause a drain either. I told him that I had no idea what they did because I was not there but there is now a problem that was not there before they worked on the Jeep.Luis agreed to check out the system and to pull the seat heater fuse to see if thats the problem. Wait a minute!! Why do you want to pull a fuse to check if the seat heater was the problem!?! The seat heater fuse was just fine and the other seat heated just fine before I took it to you! You said you could not repair the seat heater so why do you suspect thats the issue now??Luis then explained that if they dont find a problem with their previous repairs then they will charge me $305 to diagnose the battery drain problem that the Jeep developed under their care. RIP-OFFI asked what is their hourly shop rate and Luis said $165 but they charge $305 to diagnose an electrical drain. I asked what if it only take 10 minutes to find the problem? He said that they would only charge the $305 in that case but they would charge more if it took them longer.!!! I TOOK MY JEEP AND SPED AWAY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS AS FAST AS I COULD !!!SUMMARY: I took my Jeep for two simple repairs that costs me $408 to fix half the problems and they caused another problem and wanted to charge me another $305 or more to fix what they caused!!Good luck if you still choose this shop after my warning.I Googled Auto Electrical Repairs and found several shops with GOOD REVIEWS. You should do the same.- Ray JonesFresno, CA
I have being going to Electric Lab for several years for both of my vehicles and will not go anywhere else. They have had solutions to fixing my Cadillac that couldn’t be fixed at other establishments in the past. Staff has gone far and beyond to solve solutions to repairing my 1998 caddy. They are the best in my book... thank you‼️👍🏻
Worst experience ever took two weeks to get my truck a appointment took multiple days to get a diagnosis. Wrong diagnosis they said i needed a new motor $11,000 or motor tear down to find the problem. It was a simple fix replace two coils, 70 dollars each cylinder but I replaced them all my truck runs like a champ now..talked to one of my friends about this place said he took his company truck to this place they replaced a part, but wouldnt give him his old parts..I will never go back....
I took my car in on a Friday 8:30 appointment set up prior Wednesday. Called after 2pm to check on diagnostic, no response. Went back on Monday about 11:30 am, still nothing done. Finally gor car back at 2pm. Nothing diagnosed still. Waisted a bunch of money on rental but I can say I did get my money back. I assumed electric lab was a great place to have my car fixed trust worthy and went off the commercial people made, only to be disappointed. I believe they mean well but really dont have enough time. I didnt feel as though I was that important to them so now I will find another mechanic not so popular with commercials. Thank you and at least thanks for the efforts and giving me my money back.
My vehicle was not running properly and the check in July was on. Took it to electric laboratories and the immediately diagnosed as the number 7 cylinder misfiring. They were very professional and quick. They provided me a diagnostic test and determine some other things were wrong and were also repaired in a timely manner. Professional staff in nice clean business. Will come back!
After reading just the two bad reviews on Yelp about this place, its not worth me taking a chance and going here. I also read the many good reviews, I have a small dealership, but will not take chances here because of the O Reilly markup or 1.5 weeks of the client waiting for a car. Richard, the apparent manager, seems to answer all poor reviews the same, leaving the give us a call and were happy to talk. My customers know my prices. They know my markup too. I once had a mechanic wanting to charge me $380 for new alternator and install, though he was buying the part from Napa Auto Parts right next door for $140 with an exchange. He wanted to charge me $280 for the part and $100 for install, which on a 2000 Camry, is easy right on top of the engine. When I asked him about the markup, he said, Thats my profit margin, you cant take away my profit margin. Well, I did. I removed my car from his shop and paid him $50 for diagnosis. I paid $208 for the entire work, part and all, elsewhere. Theres mechanics everywhere, so just dont go here.
I had great experience. The job was done right and I’m happy. The cost was reasonable and the customer service was great.Only one concern. I had an appointment at 12:00 pm. I was told on Friday if you com early at 7:30 am on Monday we can get in quick and you’ll be out in about in 45 minutes.I dropped the car at 8:00 am on Monday then I was told it’ll take 4 hours to fix. I got picked up by my sister and left. I called at 12:23 and was told on the phone my car is next and it’ll be ready by 2:30. I got called at 2:12 by the service advisor that my car is ready. The whole job took about 45:00 minutes. But I actually waited 6 hours for it.Thanks.
Electric lab has been helping us with our cars for over a decade. I am most impressed by their honesty, transparency, friendliness, attention to details, & reasonable pricing. They have always guided me with correct recommendations be it their own service or another auto experts. There have been moments when I had to force them to accept payment for legitimate work done on our vehicle. Electric lab carries the vibe of genuineness and not gimmick & pretence. Hope they sustain the minimalist and sincere nature of the business and dont fall prey to flashy appearance that could be hollow inside.
I brought my truck in because a light was on showing a problem with the charging system. I had already checked the system for proper anp reading off the battery and it was fine. I waited for a call and never got one. So I called the sales man and he did not return my call on a Friday afternoon so I went through the weekend without my truck. I finally got a call back after another call back to the shop. My alternater needed to be replaced. An easy job to do. I have personally replaced it before, total cost 85 dollars. The electric lab cost me 738 dollars. They checked all my fluids and lights and said my radiator fluid was low do to a leak, false. I had the truck tested and found no leak. The worst of it is that they never even added any anti freeze. The system was a tiny bit low. I would have been better off going to the Ford dealership. I learned my lesson the hard way, so good luck. I hope this helps someone.
Professional service. My husband have taken his truck here before, and I was impress with service then. I have a old truck but I cant afford new one at this time. They did a great job and gave me a list of diagnostic which is what I asked for. They fixed what I could afford. Thanks Travis for listening and being so professional, you and team customer service and skills was worth ever dollar .
Update: Sadly, the same thing happened with my husbands AC after Electric Labs repaired as with the two previous shops that tried to fix it. It worked for a few months, then returned to having the same problem. It blows cold air when he is driving at a steady speed, but when he stops or is driving at low speeds through town, the AC doesnt cool. Very disappointing and hard to know when its fixed right because it always works when we leave the shops (I dont know if its because they add freon). Just another disappointment though.Very pleased with the service and personnel at Electric Labs. We first used them 2-3 years ago when the car battery kept dying in my Veracruz. The problem ended up being in my headlight settings wiring, and they honestly told me they could fix it for hundreds of dollars, or I could just not use that particular setting. I appreciated them not trying to take me for money I didnt need to spend.Just recently we returned to have my husbands AC serviced and repaired because it was not blowing much and often blowing hot air. Its been working wonderfully since Electric Labs serviced it, and we are very pleased. Pleasant experience all around.
Very nice people. My experience has been wonderful. I am taking my car there again.Diagnosed and fixed the door locks. Works great.Happy as usual. Fix my AC with a simple Compressor clutch. Blowing cold air, much needed in Fresno.Fixed it again. The dealer said all the engine mounts needed to be replace. I had Electric Lab look at it. They said only one engine mount is broken, and replaced it at one third of the price. Thanks guys.
Best personal service experience. I missed my appointment in the morning. Sergio said to bring it in anyway for valve cover oil leak. He said it may need to stay overnight. It did need to stay until the end of the next day, but Im okay with that. Sergio texted me with recommended repairs and costs.During repair, technician found that an EGR hose was cracked. Sergio replaced the $50 hose without holding up the job for authorization of the revised total repair cost. He knew I wanted my truck back as soon as possible. That’s being proactive with the customer’s needs!I like the photos of areas that need attention, with a cost estimate.Thank you!
I dropped my vehicle this morning at 8:15 for an alignment, and tire rotation. As an aside, I asked them to keep a look out for any suspension issues. I received no calls, no updates all day. I called at 3:30 to check in. The attendant said “we checked out your vehicle, but couldn’t find any reason for your suspension clunk, and so we didn’t want to do an alignment and waste your money.” LOL! I asked “how about the tire rotation?”....silence. I asked why no one had called me...::silence. I said “I’ll come pick up my vehicle”I picked up my vehicle—exact same mileage as when I dropped it. They didn’t even bother with a test drive to check on the suspension clunk they said they couldn’t diagnose. It’s pretty hard to diagnose a suspension issue without pulling it out of the driveway. No one has touched the underside of the vehicle; no indications tires have been touched, let alone removed. Draw your own conclusions. In my humble opinion, there is a reason this place is called electric labs—they may be best suited to work on your car stereo.
Had an electrical problem that the tech could not find I later took my 01 Chevy S10 to mechanic in which he found the problem and was wire harness in the steering column. I rate that mechanic 5 stars and electric lab 1star I will never take or recommend electric lab to anyone poor job
Overall good. The car was kept until the problem did surface, thank you for taking the time to find the problem .The Electric Lab fuel pump price was $736.00.Future Ford of Clovis would charge $530.00.I am not happy to pay $200 more than the Ford dealer would charge. Please consider giving me a $200.00 credit on my card.
I had an 8:00 AM appointment, but the work on my car didn’t start until almost 9:00 AM. I came at a time your remodeling was in full gear. And, I was told by Mike that the waiting room was not set up, but if I preferred he could get me a ride to work or back to my house. I chose to stay. I appreciate that it didn’t take long to find the problem. I had been trying to find the problem for over a week and was getting very frustrated. During this COVID-19 pandemic it is not good to have a vehicle that won’t start. Thank you and team Electric Lab for the repair on my car. It’s truly a blessing to get in my car and it start.Dean Stroud, 2008 ACURA TL; 5/11/20
FIXED! 18 months---3 shops---several other shops refused to even try to fix this SUV. Those flakes just want easy stuff. BUT---Mike and David repaired this problem child. I should have gone to EL LAB first.Aug 2017 the SUV started misfiring. Shop 1 threw parts at it. Shop two threw more parts at it. Shop 3 gave up. Others were too incompetent or chicken to try to fix this GMC. I was ready to donate to charity or junk yard. David had it repaired within 1 day. Repaired right. Now it hauls a** like it always did prior to 8/2017. I am deeply impressed. But it is fixed. It runs great. All that $$ wasted at the other bottom feeders. No wonder Electric Labs parking lot is full of higher end vehicles. THEY FIX THINGS RIGHT!Folks, you get what you pay for. 18 months....3 shops--countless $$ swapping parts after parts at other shops only to have them give up.Electric Lab fixed it within 1 day. And fixed it right. God Bless them all!
I do not recommend this place. They are very slow and have poor customer service. Ive been waiting for somebody to bring my paperwork to the front. My car passed smog, the paperwork was brought in, and theyve been letting me mill around in the lobby. People keep telling me they will help me, but....it was over 30 minutes after they finished work on my vehicle before they found my paperwork. During that time, the men working the counter were pretty much ignoring me. There were very few customers in the store at that time. They werent busy.
I have two classic cars, a 65 GTO and a 66 Mustang. While I enjoy working on them, in the words of Clint Eastwood, A mans got to know his limitations. I have come up against several issues that were beyond my ability to resolve and Electric Lab quickly diagnosed and solved the problems quickly and at a fair price. I highly recommend them.
Ive taken my 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse to Electric Lab three times now over the past two years. Each time Ive been treated professionally and with respect. I am a +60 yr old female and I appreciate that they dont laugh at me when I describe a problem. Mike Thibodeaux has been my service writer each time and he always listens patiently and carefully and never rushes me. I used to go to another large automotive shop on Blackstone and felt like I was being laughed at when I described my cars issues. Its nice that they can dummy down to understand someone who doesnt use technical lingo. Theyve fixed my car all three times for a reasonable price. I know this because my son used to work in a body shop and he says their shop hours and parts are reasonable. The gentleman at the check out counter is so nice, funny and very courteous. I just leave there with a good feeling from start to finish. My only complaint would be that they dont call me to follow-up to let me know if theyre done but I call them so its all good. For years I thought they just did electric work - the name of the business is misleading - but when I took my car there the first time for an electrical issue I realized they had tons of service bays and did full automotive service. They are a reputable professional automotive shop and I would highly recommend them. Because of my great service Im kind of scratching my head at some of the other reviews I read on this page. I guess you just cant make some people happy. They sure pulled an A+ with me! :)
I leave a number of reviews and as a business owner I try to always leave reviews that are 4+ stars with a legit 4+ experience. I contacted electric labs about my son’s car not passing smog. We talked about details since we know what the issues are and she quoted me a diagnosis price for $230. When I asked he why so high because All tech is $130 and they have 4+ stars she couldn’t really tell me why. If you can’t be competitive and do anything different than any other reputable shop then you are just being a bit of a Sheista, sorry but it is true.
I have never reviewed a business on anything, but this is my first. I’m highly disappointed on how I was treated. I was recommended by client that has been a customer for over 15+ years so I decided to give it a shot and I felt like I donated $400. My car didnt go passed 25 mph and had the check engine light on. They diagnosed it told me that they were going to change the whole battery wiring and I accepted. When I pick up the car it doesn’t go passed 25mph and still had the check engine light on. When I go back they tell me that there was something else wrong with it. I’m already $400 down and on a college budget. Managers told me they were going to call me back and 5 months have passed and no call back. Took my car to a mechanic that works from home and he looked at my wiring and they only cut the ends of the wires and not the whole harness. He also said that at the most is a $80 job (obviously not at a shop) but it was probably something I could’ve done in 30 mins. Just wanted to share my experience because it was your typical mechanic shop that wants you to over pay and up sell you for things that aren’t needed. Would not condsider loyal or responsible!
I hesitate to call what I received today “service”, and if I could rate any lower than 1 star, I would! I scheduled my vehicle for an inspection & diagnostics,, and arrived 30 minutes before my appointment. After practically the entire day passed, and receiving no return call for the two calls I placed asking for results, I went to pick up my vehicle. Upon arrival, the lack of verbal communication continued. If you are okay with being kept in the dark and inconvenienced with no vehicle, just to leave with no repair, then this is the place for you!
From my 03 Trailblazers first visit to EL, routine service and reasonably priced repairs have been done in a timely manner. Service check-in with courteous and knowledgeable staff removes the intimidation factor I have experienced at other shops. Im a fairly new customer and wish Id learned about EL sooner. The complimentary shuttle to and from work is tops! Keep up the good work EL! Two years later, awesome service continues, customer for life!
These people were very nice and courteous even though they could NOT find the problem with my electrical issues or Battery Drain, I felt right at home especially getting green tea while relaxing in the lounge😁 very pleasant atmosphere and I like the fact that they have courtesy drivers on hand to take you wherever you want to go in Fresno. The best thing that happen was that they returned to me my money that I paid to them whereas the Dodge Dealer didnt!! Thank you All😁❤
I went there to get headlight connector installed on one of my vehicles. I had called ahead of time to ask if they would install a part I have bought at a parts store the technician said they generally dont but because I had everything ready he said he would do it and at such a great price so basically I was only charge for labor and was able to get me in the next day Bright and early and was done within 2 hours. Awesome job done
Got bent over. Took my 89 camaro in for chip key replacement, I showed them a resitor box the previous owner tried to use to bypass the vats system. They quoted me $250. Which was fair price. When I picked it up all they did was wire in the resistor box i showed them to get it started. AND IT WAS JUST BARE WIRES HANGING THERE! And charged me $225! On top of telling me all kinds of other stuff was wrong with my car that wasnt. Very unprofessional job. NEVER GOING BACK! My wallet and my butt hurts.
Overall I’m pleased with Electric Laboratories findings letting me know that I was correct in my own diagnosis with my vehicle. They were kind and helpful in ways I didn’t expect, if I needed work done again I would certainly choose them. Thank you all at Electric Laboratories
All ended up being okay...but I had a 830am appointment on Wednesday, and was given a ride home.., Finally at about 315pm I had a call that they just got started to check my car....so it ended up being an overnight situation...I was able to pick up the car just before noon on Thursday. But everything is working like it should.... Thanks for fixing the problem...
Went to my dealer for a check engine light and a tune up. They wanted $1200 for the tune up plus whatever the problem was. Went to electric labs where i have gone for other services and got it all done for $800. Great service, great communication. Will always go here from now on.
My Jeep was there since June.I have spent 1,900.00 dollars.I have to do more work to it so I can smog it, I had to call to see what was happening with it.I was also changed for a cap and rotor that should have been under warranty. Two hundred dollars to find out some hoses were bad.One hundred dollars for a smog that didnt pass because they didnt adjust the carb like I told them to do.
I cant believe that someone would give this shop a 0! I have been doing business with Electric Lab for about 12 years now and have always found them to be the most professional and accurate shop around town. Not only have they given me great service and exceptional return on the money spent, but they have always been accommodating and reasonable. I cant say enough for this company. I would highly recommend, and have done so, this company to all my friends and family. For my dollar you cant go wrong with Electric Labs.
Charged Us for a whole ecu computer $1400 And we had to purchase two fuel pumps $800 ... when it was just a little $110 dollar transfer pump... plus 400 dollar labor ... couldn’t even take off a flat bed ... we had to do it ... not good experience..,. People at front counter don’t know what they doing either ...
Took my old lancruiser in for new electrical wiring harness. Told a good price and work would take a week or two. It took over a month for them to finish. More than double the cost and had cut wires everywhere. Some item I thought would be done weren’t. Recommend you go elsewhere.Txs, MikePS ever time I get in my truck I find something else they didn’t do or left dangling. Hate it every time I go by their shop
I requested several times to be informed about my vehicle but instead they were contacting a associate of mine that wasn’t making the payments for the repairs from this facility. I personally wouldn’t want to go back to letting this business do any further work in my vehicles.
I went in to get a new wiring harness in my FJ45. Electric Lab gave estimate less than $1300 and 2 weeks to do. Took 6 weeks and charged me $3K. They left cut wires everywhere. Connected next to no gauges in dash, my light on indicator is my left turn signal light. If I turn on lights I don’t have turn signal indicator. Dash instrument lights are so dim you can’t see anything. Recommend you go anywhere else if you need wiring harness doneMike Harbick
I have taken my car clawson Honda for a diagnostic test on my electrical problems they tell me that it was my alternator and battery put in new alternator and new battery same problem my battery light will go on and discharge I took my car to electric lab they diagnose my car in the same day they figured out what it was after struggling with this electrical problem with two different companies clawson Honda and g&h repairs could not figure it out I recommend electric lab to anyone with electrical problems Im very happy with their work the way they greet you everyone there is ready to help and assist you again thank you electric lab for everything youve done very happy with you guys will tell all my friends and family for sure thanks again
I first went to Electric Labs in the nineteen-eighties. I was searching for maintenance and repairs that I could count on; for honesty, sincerity, reliable quotesand particularly a shop that would not try to sell me something that I did not need. Some dealerships had told me that I needed service on items well before they were needing to be done. I have found Electric Labs to be above this type of dishonesty!
Very disappointed with the Customer Service aspect of Electric Laboratories. Made the appointment six calendar days in advance for a repair or maintenance of the Throttle-Body Controller on a 2009 Malibu that was exhibiting Reduced Engine Power. I expected to have it flushed and cleaned manually. However, they never got to servicing the vehicle or contacting me after three days. I call them six times between Tuesday and Thursday seeking an update and a job completion time. They had not even begun to make repairs. On Thursday afternoon, I was angry and told the Service Manager that I will pick up the vehicle and take it some where else for the service. They refused to hand over the Keys until a Diagnostic Fee of $224.00 was paid which was in my opinion never done, or cooked up at the last moment. I intend to take them to small claims court in Fresno in an attempt to recover the fee which was unjustly charged... I did talk to the Manager, Richard, but got nowhere…
Whether its an oil change, power train issues or an internal engine issue, Electric Lab always has the knowledge and skills to get the job done well. They are who I trust to handle my personal vehicles and who my company, Cumulus Media Fresno, trusts with the maintenance of their vehicles. Thanks for miles!
I did not have a favorable visit. I came in to get a BCM changed and programed. I was told to pick up in the afternoon. I got a call saying it wont be until the following day. Turns out my BMC was the wrong one and did not inform me before servicing. so the old BCM was reinstalled and had to be reprogramed. After essentially there was no replaced parts. So I paid $153.00 for nothing. Rather inform me of the wrong part provided. I am upset and hope Electric Laboratories can contact me.-Ryan KLast 4 cell digits: 1195
I have gone to Electric Labratories for several years now. As a single mom on a tight budget, they have always been good to me. On this last occasion, I took my sons car in and Miriam was absolutely AMAZING! She knows her stuff! I was thoroughly impressed and had complete confidence in her knowledge and ability to translate car lingo into something I could understand. Now, please dont get me wrong, the guys at Electric Labs are great, never had an issue, its just Miriam knocks it out of the park! Great hire gentlemen.
I have been using Electric Lab for several years to service & repair my three vehicles. The Vehicles are 1965 Ford Mustang, 2003 Toyota Highlander,2007 Ford Focus. They have serviced and repaired all to my complete satisfaction. Several years agoI owned a fleet of 6 Taxicabs and wish I had been in closer to Electric Lab. UnfortunatleyI was in Pacific Grove. They accurately and quicking diagnose any problems we report to them. They are timely with completing the job and all the staff treats you with respect and courtsey. This is howI would run my business. The last shop I used in Fresno could not diagnose or solve several problems with my vehicles, and I know they gave my a sunshine job. That isthey parked the vehicle and hoped it would repair itself. It got to the point that I reported them to the State of Ca Automotive Repair Bureau.I would be very surprised if Electirc Lab has ever been even mentioned to the state except in a positive light.Elecetric Lab is Rated Excellent in my book.
I didn’t have as great an experience as others. My biggest frustration was that I was told that I would receive updates and I had to call to see where they were at with it after being told I would receive calls back. It seemed the technician was never around. After 8 days I called and they stated they could not track down the issue or reason for the glitches and suggested I pick it up. Left waiting for the problem to get worse in order to fix it.
Wow this just blows my mind, I was talking with the owners Dennis and he told me this shop was originally a actual laboratory (lab coats and everything) for early electric car components, when I think of electric cars I think of Tesla, I forget electric cars are actually that old. This shop must be doing something right being around over a 100 years. Truly amazing to see a business survive that long and still going strong.
Old trucks are a nightmare. But Electric Labs guys have that old school knowledge about electrical, and were able to determine I had burned out sockets, and saved me thousands from wanting to replace the harness, and repaired ONLY what needed to be replaced. Thank you.
This place is a complete ripoff! Charged me almost $250 to service A/C on my vehicle, then of course found a leak that cost them $60 on top of everything to replace an O ring that costs .99 cents from Napa. The excuse was its gonna take about 30 min to disconnect the bolt where the O ring is located that was a bunch of BS, i know because I used to work as a mechanic during college. This place is a ripoff! do yourself a favor and steer clear!

2022-05-25I just bought a used truck and knew exactly where I wanted to bring it for a maintenance check and thorough inspection. I was happy with past services at this shop and they held true to their warranty on another item. It was an easy call. Maybe a bit pricey for some and well, even for me but I believe you get what you pay for and I’m not going to short cut my daily driver/adventure mobile. Electric Lab is the way to go!

2022-07-18We were able to drop our car off the night before our appointment to make it easier for our situation. We were notified to be prepared to leave our car for a few days while they searched for the problem with our air conditioner. Sergio our service tech followed up with us to make sure we received the text with our diagnostic. Repairs were done quickly and efficiently and we are very happy with the results. EL is very professional and thorough and we would highly recommend them for your auto service needs.

2022-05-16Want to lose $6,000+ ? DO NOT RECOMMEND! I dont care for reviews but this made me mad. I took a car to fix because there was no crank, no start. You would think that they would look under the hood, but they didnt. I paid it thinking that they wouldve looked into every little detail, but no. Sure the car worked the first 2 weeks, but then the car didnt start at all. I just basically paid $6,000 expensive oil change.

2022-03-07I took my brand new 2022 Corvette in for a smog because I had it delivered from New York. I put a total of 152 miles on the car before bringing it in for the smog. Are these guys are the experts? After trying to smog my car they tell me I need to put more miles on it because some of the sensors aren’t registering yet. They advise me that there aren’t many smog places in Fresno that would do mid engine cars. So go put another 50 miles on the car and bring it back and it should pass smog. They still charged me the $120 for the smog fee knowing there was not enough miles on the car for it to actually pass. I got hustled out of $120!!

Seam they were not listening to what my explanation of what was happening and than happened again.

2022-06-27These folks are wonderful. They do an excellent job. They also do not mind helping with extra requests like putting windshield fluid in. I would recommend them to anyone.

2022-08-03I took my old Landcruiser to have a new wiring harness installed. They said they could do for $1400 and it would take a couple weeks. It took a month and a half, and they increased the cost to $3000. The worst was the job was terrible. Half of my dash instruments don’t work. When you turn on the lights the left turn indicator comes on. When the lights are on one headlight is on high the other on low. When you hit the switch to high beam it just switches high beam to the other lightCalled in three time to talk to owner, left messages and call back number. No call back!!Got a call back from the owner and Richard. They had me bring back in my Cruiser and I pointed out some of my issues with the work completed. They had me bring it back in so they could fix what they could. I have never had a business do this, no matter the review. They did what they said. They couldn’t fix everything since my truck is 77 years old, but they did a lot and I would commend and recommend them. Thanks to the owner and RichardTxs, Mike Harbick
