Totally amazing! Went with a friend. We both had lasagna and shared a chopped salad. Sauce was delicious and abundant! Most places never provided enough sauce with lasagna. Service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is unpretentious and friendly. Bread on the side is a nice plus. We will be back!
The service was super fast even though I walked in while it was clear they were slammed! The food was amazing, I ordered the carbonara and they threw in some garlic bread that I still think about. It is a little small so if youre looking for fine dining, privacy, and quiet, this isnt it. You can see them cook everything behind the counter, and the chefs look pretty cool as they cook multiple orders at the same time. Its also clearly family oriented, I cant tell if all the employees are related but they definitely act like they are.
Used to eat Alejos all the time when I worked around the corner. The owners have changed and the food quality has suffered somewhat but its still great affordable Italian in huge portions. You can still get the garlic in olive oil and bread to dip in, but its no longer fresh baked like before. They have gluten free and vegetarian options, and can accommodate special requests so overall, recommended.
Disappointed in my meal tonight......I specifically asked what the fish was in the Linguine ala mare and they told me salmon. I order this dish ALL the time. Tonight there was not one piece of salmon in my meal.....when I called to let them know there response was basically sorry that it comes with very little fish but explained again.....it had NO salmon at all......This is closer to my house only like 3 minutes but I will be going to the Westchester location because their recipe is true to their menu and contains generous amounts of salmon or fish of the day.
Its not the most appealing place and you wouldnt expect it but the food is amazing! I particularly like how they start you off with delicious chunks of bread with oil for dipping it in!! The portions are big so you wont leave here hungry. The food is very well made, you can definitely tell the cooks care about what they put out! And the staff Is very friendly.
Have eaten here for over 20 years. It has changed hands 3 times.it used to be great. Not any longer.Salads are limp. Avoid.Food is now very ordinary. They eliminated the house baked bread which was a feature. The place has gone downhill. Very mediocre. And ...to add to the insult, they raised the prices!!!AVOID.
Visiting from Minnesota! Came to enjoy some pizza and this place is amazing! You receive warm french bread with butter garlic dipping sauce as you wait. We tried the fried mozzerella and a sausage and pepperoni pizza, the sauce alone is delicious. Would highly recommend Eddies!! YUM!
Im a long time fan of this placeTheir Eggplant Parmigiana is a go-to meal for me when Im in Venice CA.The sauce is exquisite and the ciabatta is dangerous...served with garlic olive oil with heaps of garlic in.The eggplant is served with spaghetti pomodoro.Thats all I ever eat there but everyone Ive ever taken has raved and gone back.Highly recommended!
I hadnt been here in years, since before they changed the name. I had the caesar salad which was fresh and delicious, and the linguini pesto, which was good but not the best. Next time Ill try a different pasta. But good food, low prices and ample portions make this a good bet. Service was first rate. There are overpriced Italians nearby that dont come close for quality.
I am so sad and disappointed by the quality change in the food. This restaurant has always been my favorite Italian food for the last 15years. I do not know what happened. The meatballs were dry and hard. The lasagna was hard and barely had any cheese. The Italian salad lacked the cheese i am accustomed to. The spaghetti pomodoro was not fresh tasting as before and was very heavy on the garlic and lacked seasonings. And the bread was no longer warm and fresh. It was cold and and not very much of it came with the order. Over all its like the restaurant has a new owner or something. Maybe change in chief. It will be months before i go back to see if things are back to normal.
I have traveled the whole country andI have yet to find a Chop Salad as good as theirs! The bread, garlic dipping sauce, eggplant Parmesan, meatballs, pasta… I could go on and on... this place will not let you down. I always carry out because inside seems a little too loud but other than that, no complaints from me . In fact… I think Ill order dinner tonight from them!
You cannot go wrong here. The food is awesome, the prices are great and the servers and cooks are wonderful. Its super-casual, informal and social (meaning you might find yourself sitting at a long table with folks youve never met) ... which works fine for us, as that is truly a cool feature.Ive had over a dozen different entree items from the menu and the specials boards. Everything is good. They will substitute sauteed or steamed veggies for pasta on entrees. Youll choices of pasta types and sauce choices, too. Their chopped salads are the best ever, and plenty large enough to share. Their own baked Italian bread and garlic/olive oil (dipping bowl) is brought to your table along with individual small plates, often before your order is taken. Many Italian classic dishes are featured, and theyre all done very well. Spumoni is fabulous and the Tiramisu ... well, I want every single day.. Dont miss the Tiramisu. Its very light, so you dont have to be concerned with leaving enough room for it.
Food is really great in this place. The dishes range from pizza to pasta to salad to soups from all varieties of vegetables, sauces, meats and condiments. My favorite part of this place is that they always serve you a basket of bread slices that you can eat with a hint of garlic in oil and parmesan cheese. The drawbacks of this place are the really limited parking which can cause headaches at peak hours, the public bathroom is located inside the kitchen and there is only one of it, and, the locale is pretty small so it only has around 6 tables for 4 people and I believe 4 tables for 2 people. This means that on peak hours it will get jam packed rather quickly, but fortunately, you can always order food to go and that would be easier/faster if the locale is full. However, you can also do like me and use grubhub or another similar service to order any dish you want and send it straight home (a little bit expensive, but totally worth it if you currently have other things to do and cannot wait at the pickup line). Other than these, it is a great place to get lunch/dinner and you will enjoy every minute of it.
Do not listen to any negative comments...THIS FOOD IS INCREDIBLE!!! i have no idea how they make that bread or the pizza crust...its unlike anything ive ever had and it breaks my heart that other places dont make it the same way. EVERY dish that ive ever had is 5 stars. tiny hole in the wall with no atmosphere...i dont get it. if they went big and atmospheric it would be a smash hit. dont miss it!!!
So I dont know whats changed with this place based on all the five star reviews it has but it was terrible pizza. We went based on the reviews and the pizza was disappointing. The toppings werent cooked. The sauce was bland. And there was very little cheese. I dont get it. The place was very very busy. It was very very disappointing.

2022-02-12Used to patronize when it was Alejo. Hard to locate off Lincoln and Washington, but if you find it in the small mall you wont regret being there. Its now Eddies.Went yesterday and got my usual, a lasagna. It was still good.In fact truth be told all the food is very good. Glad its still open. Used to work down the street, came every 2-3 days and although the name is different, the food is very much the same.Good.

2021-08-09I first started patronizing Eddies Italian while driving a cab in 2010 or so on advice of one of my clients, a pilot. His advice consisted of two tips:-Stop off at the 7-Eleven next door and pick up a tall boy before you eat. While Eddies does not serve alcohol, they do have a $0 corkage fee, essentially a drink-if-you-got-em policy. Bring your own beer and wine for a more elevated dining experience.-Order the linguine with clams.Ive been here probably 50 or 60 times, ordered other stuff a few times but this is really where Eddies stands out. This place is super consistent and super cheap. The downside is you have to deal with a cramped parking lot full of questionable characters. Personally, Ive never had a problem with anyone there but I know people who have. Quite a few wingnuts that like hanging out around the 7-Eleven and the donut shop.If you brave the obstacles, however, you will be rewarded.

2021-06-23This place has been my favorite way back when it was Allejos. I love being able to bring my own wine without a corkage fee and I love their food, especially the garlic dip! Linguini with clams is one of my faves.

2018-05-19Holy cow this little hole in the wall is full of flavor. Totally exceeded expectations. We wanted a causal place for Italian that didn’t get too pricey. Everything was reasonably priced and I was happy with the variety on the menu. The space is tiny but it didn’t feel too crowded with even only a few tables open. The servers were so attentive and friendly. The bread and oil when we sat down was such a nice touch. I really enjoyed being able to listen to the kitchen bustle and watch the chefs.I got the spaghetti and meatballs. The portions are HUGE and I only ate about 1/3. The whole dish was cooked perfectly and had that nostalgic taste. My boyfriend got the pepperoni pizza. The crust was fantastic but he thought they were a touch heavy on the cheese.

2022-01-29Excellent Italian restaurant. The food is always fresh and so good! The parking lot is small. Be patient! Its worth the wait to get a parking space because your meal will be delicious!

2022-02-08Frequented this establishment from before when it was still called Alejos. I assume, due to the constant mix ups with the other Alejos location further south on Lincoln, the restaurant changed its name to Eddies. The menu and food remain the same. The bread has changed to a toasted bread which is nice, but not the same doughy bread from before. The garlic and Parmigian cheese is a staple and the pizza and pasta are tasty as usual. With the covid protocols and takeout only containers the portions seem a bit smaller but they were pretty large to begin with.

2022-02-19Half the tables needed to be cleaned. Got a calzone and it was straight trash. Been to 10 different locations and this was the worst. It was literally bread and cheese. No ricotta, no tomato sauce.

2018-09-17Loved the Salmon Filleto and my friend enjoyed the lasagna. The garlic and oil to dunk your fresh Italian bread is addictive. And you can BYOB, so thats a plus.

2019-12-18I’ve been here many times and love the food. I’ve had a spaghetti and meatballs which is delicious and has a wonderful red sauce. I also have a chicken piccata and chicken Marsalis. All excellent. Give these guys a try
