I have really enjoyed working with Matt and getting back into a fitness routine over the last ~6 months.I can really tell the difference in my strength and balancing skills, even as a pretty athletic guy to start with. He’s really been able to push me and guide me through increasingly challenging lifts, but never in a way that’s left me feeling completely wasted after a session.Updating to add that over the last few months, Matt has been helping me get my home gym setup and build a personal routine to supplement the one I have with him!This was a big goal for me as I started with him, but felt too daunting to take on alone.

I have been working with Matt for several years. I started with him to improve my balance and overall fitness. He is experienced and very knowledgeable, able to modify exercises when arthritis flares or some other pain occurs so I can keep going. During a time when I had foot and shoulder surgery, Matt planned a routine that worked within my physical therapy program to help me stay appropriately active. Highest recommendation!

Matt is the best personal trainer I have ever had. Over thirty years in various gym companies I’ve used their staff and sometimes had additional independent sessions. They do not compare well to the excellent attention and thoughtful eye Matt brings to my weekly hour long sessions. He understands the body mechanics, focuses on the variety of muscle groups that are required and is successful in building both recovery and integrated body improvement. I highly recommend Matt for excellent results.

I would highly recommend East Bay Pro Fitness. I started training with Matt about 6 months ago and today I feel so much better. I am 58 and before i started, I was feeling run down all of the time and not even able to keep up with my wife with gardening tasks. Since starting with the training, I have achieved much better core strength, balance and endurance. I have lost weight and look better too :)

Matt has been dedicated to fitness and health for 20+ years. I have been doing personal training with him for a year, twice a week. He is consistently kind, professional, helpful, patient, thoughtful, and thorough. His equipment is well kept and clean. He has helped me train through injuries and balancing issues with skill and confidence. Working through the pandemic has been challenging, but it has been no problem with Matt. It has been a blessing to work with East Bay Pro Fitness consistently through this challenging time.

I have been doing weight training for the past 14 years. Recently I have begun training with Matt, working in his new studio which is clean, safe and well equipped. I am impressed with Matts knowledge of anatomy and ability to explain what your muscles are doing and where they need to be strengthened. I appreciate his ability to communicate this in language that anyone can understand. I find Matt to be knowledgeable, attentive, able to modify exercises depending on need, encouraging and optimistic about progress. He makes going to the gym an educational adventure. I recommend him without reservation.

Matt has been my personal trainer for 3 years now and each time we meet its a brand new experience! I never can predictwhat exercises we will be doing on any given day, its always changing and doesnt get old or boring! Because of our work together I am stronger, have better balance and coordination and endurance, all very important for me heading into my mid-sixties! Since the pandemic my husband now joins us. Matt can facilitate both of our different fitness levels successfully each time we meet!

What an excellent experience Matts created for me at a time when we are all focused on staying healthy or improving our health!His gymnastics background is so valuable - he really understands the body and how everything works together. Ive worked with a number of personal trainers over the years and Matt is one of the best. I really appreciate his coaching and instruction on form and how to get the most out of each exercise. He is also very personable and fun to be around, so the hour flies by! I came to him after a 3 year stint of very little exercise and I am seeing results while also enjoying the experience. Whether youre someone who is new to working out or are more experienced, I have no doubt he will be able to tailor a program to meet your needs.

Matt has been an amazing and very adaptable trainer. Of all the trainers we have worked with, he has been the best at helping us understand how to build strength while avoiding injury. His clear focus on building a sustainable practice for having an athletic life has been a perfect fit for us. We very highly recommend him!
