Always a great place to eat! Went there with eight others today, after walking the nearby El Dorado Trail, and we were all very happy with our meals!Weve been going there about this time every year with as many as thirty or more Renaissance Society Walkabouts friends -- hopefully as many next Spring when COVID-19 is inoculated away. 😎
Disappointed. Used to be a go to. We were there midday/midweek last week. Four couples total (4 tables/booth) and a single walk in to a table. Waitresses were so busy chatting by coffee machine ( out of general sight) the cook had to come out to find her for our order. It took almost 30 minutes from sitting to serving( thank you to the cook). Our food was late and cold.
Food and service was just awesome been waiting a whole year till we could get in there and have their delicious breakfast again I do wish however that the table near us didnt get seated with a big family so close to us had hoped they would be seated further away from us since the whole restaurant was almost empty
I ordered a burger and fries. It was Tasteless and bland. I asked for mayo to try and doctor it up. The waitress told me they didnt season the burger and fries because some people cant have salt. Really? The salt wont stuck to the fries after they have sat for a few minutes and seasoning a burger after it is cooked is not the same. The owner saw I didnt eat the food nor did I take it with me. He didnt even check why. The waitress just said sorry you didnt like it. It is too bad. Now I need to go somewhere else to eat and pay for another meal.
Great place for a consistently good down home type meal. Large menu selection and portions. Daily specials are great price and tasty. The building, was constructed in 1906 and was once a stop on the Carson Emigrant Trail. The current decor has a nice display of historic pictures of the area history.
It was terrible... over $40 for myself and 2 kids, 1 meal was so bland it could not be gagged down. We were so bummed. It took over 40 minutes to get our food, dirty glasses and silverware. The only reason for 2 stars is the staff was overworked and really did their best. This has been our experience the last 3 times we have been in. It it unlikely we will return.
Eat here. You will not be disappointed! Homemade salad dressings, dinner rolls with enormous salads and incredible entrees that will knock your socks off! Were going to try the prime rib next (served certain days of the week $19.99!) Service is so friendly and the atmosphere is fun and full of historic photos of Diamond Springs earlier years. Enjoy!
Food is bad, service is a little better than the food, but not by much. They have corned beef hash on their menu, and when we got it, it was nothing more than fried potatoes. And when we asked for coffee. They filled our cups so full we couldnt put cream and sugar in it, and when we asked for some to be poured out, the first waitress didnt understand what we were talking about, and so another one came up behind her and said oh they just want to put lots of cream in it, and proceeded to pour out more than half of the cup. That was uncalled for. We had to ask another waitress to please put a little more coffee back in the cups. Very unpleasant experience. Do not recommend this place to eat, it is very expensive., And not worth it
There was a line out the door for Thanksgiving lunch. Service was fantastic, it took us longer to sit down than to get food on the table. The menu only had the dinner plate choices this day and I went with the turkey and ham combo. The plate was filled to the edges. All the fixings were there, down to the peas and cranberry sauce. There was even a deviled egg included which I loved. Expensive but worth it. The whole family liked liked what they had.
Love, love love. We only had one day in town and we decided to make our first stop here. What a friendly group of people. They all knew a little of the history and were willing to share. The decorations are period correct. The wait staff wears costumes of the era. The food was quite tasty and the prices were great.
This is by far my favorite place to go when taking my mom out to lunch. She is in love with their eggs benedict and could eat it all day everyday. Staff is wonderful and the owners are the most kind hearted people you will ever meet. Plus they own Sportsman Hall up the hill which is bomb as well in both food and beer choices 👌
Great prawns, my husband got surf and turf, cold prime rib, sent it to get warmed up came back over cook, told waitress she told owner, he said no discount, not they we were looking for one. Once we got to register he rush to give discount, my husband never ate prime rib. I gave the difference of discount to waitress, they lost a good customer. Dont bother going here. If you pay $35 For prime rib it should be as you ask for it. Bad management. We eat here at least twice to three times a month, not good.
Great prime rib, on special for $19, and cooked exactly how I like it. I had French fries too that were outsranding, as well as the side vegetables if summer squash and mushrooms. Ally was our waitress; she was extremely attentive and our table of 4 wanted for nothing. The decor is small town, and a little tired, but the food and service so good, you wont mind!We live in Folsom, but well be back here again.
We have eaten here several times but unfortunately we will not return. Our waitress smelled so bad of body odor it made us sick to our stomachs and we could not eat our food. It was not just us, we would watch her go to other tables and the look on the customers faces when she walked away said it all.Nasty,,,,,,
Bottom of the barrel food with matching service. Originally ordered food and all of the extras that were paid for were left out of the order. Restaurant service was rude from the start. Cheap cuts of meat when you pay full price as any other breakfast dining location with much more quality. Long story short, avoid this place and the chicken fried steak too.
Not sure how this place isnt rated 5 stars. I am from the east coast , and have trouble finding local places that have great food. The diamond hotel is some of the best food Ive had in the diamond springs area. The staff is always great. I have not had one meal here that I have not LOVED. My boyfriend and i have tried their burgers , salads , fish & chips , rainbow trout , countryfried steak , and much more. Everything is deicious, fresh and great quality. I wish I lived closed , I would be here almost everyday
My grandparents live(d) in Diamond Springs and this was their hands down ABSOLUTE favorite place to eat. They would take us here for family days and it was amazing how kind and responsive the staff were to my grandparents. They knew all about our family, what my grandparents favorites were, and always put in that extra conversational effort to let us know that they cared. Unfortunately my grandmother, Judy, passed away a year ago and my grandfather, Gary, is in very poor health. They cannot visit their favorite restaurant anymore but the rest of the family will make sure to drop by every now and then. Please send my thanks to the staff and let them know the impact they have on the community. Thank you!
On Oct 27th, my family celebrated a 90th birthday at the Diamond Springs Hotel. The occasion was super. Everyone, from Kathleen who helped make the arrangements to Ali and Stephanie who were our fabulous servers were AWESOME!!! THANK YOU does not seem to say enough. Denice

2022-04-20Cute place that we enjoy going to locally. I like the feel of it and guests are always so nice. Each time we go it seems like we make a new friend. The place couldnt a little freshening up, but staff us friendly and food is good. They are always busy, so dont be in a rush when you go, but it wont disappoint.

2019-11-29A very down to earth setting in the heart of Diamond Springs brings warmth and familiarity to weary travelers and local diners alike. We went on Thanksgiving and they have a delicious turkey and/or ham dinner plate for a decent price here.If you are in the area be sure to stop by and explore a piece of history as the location was originally built in 1916.
