I love the care I get at Designing Smiles. The staff are very considerate and professional in all aspects of my dental care. I have been a long time client and can not say enough good things about them. I have a varying work schedule and they always work with me on getting and changing appointments. But most importantly, they do exceptional work in my mouth, keeping it healthy and ready to last a lifetime. Thank you!
*UPDATE* Sadly, I have to change my review of this business because of the follow up that happened. Yes, Dr.Aja Hall’s office did a great job on my teeth, but the aftermath was probably the most stressful thing I have ever gone through at a dentist. I had gone to Designing Smiles knowing that I had a budget and when I inquired how much it would costs to fix my chipped tooth, they told me because I had insurance, it should be no more than $200-$300 give or take. This price range was within my budget, and since I know insurances are not always consistent in how much they can cover depending on your plan, I made sure to ask how much deviation might occur because I cannot afford an extra $400 or $500 for this procedure. The woman at the front desk told me, the difference will not be that large and only deviate $50-$60.Since this was doable, I went ahead and booked my appointment and paid the initial $260 they told me I owed at the appointment. Months after the procedure, I get a letter from Dr.Aja Hall’s office saying I owed an extra $450 for that one procedure! I called to ask why the difference was so huge and all the person at the front desk told me was that they needed to check in on this and will give me a call back later. Months passed and I never heard back, until I got another letter saying I still owed $450. Again, I call, and the receptionist says the same thing, that they will check and get back to me. After not hearing from them for almost a year, I get an email saying I owe this amount because it turns out my insurance was not able to cover as much as they initially thought (by the way, it should be their job to call and ask the insurance agency how much they can cover before the appointment, not after)!At this point I am furious, because not only did they charge me an obscenely larger sum than I had agreed to, but their communication was absolutely terrible! After 2 years of fighting, they gave me $100 off from the $450 amount and I just paid it to be done and over with. I will never go back to this dentist and I warn everyone they should do the same, unless they want to be ripped off of their money.
I had an excellent visit to Designing Smiles. They were recommended by a friend and it was my first time there. It was also my first time back to the dentist since the start of the Pandemic so I was a bit nervous about how it might go. I had a great cleaning with Christina who was thorough but caring. She made me feel comfortable and well taken care of during my deep cleaning. Bonus points for being able to watch a relaxing documentary on Netflix during the cleaning. My visit with the doctor went well and we discussed future follow up visits and care. Ive tried a few different dentists in San Francisco over the last 8 years, and this is the first one that I want to go back to! I highly recommend to anyone looking for their long-term dental care in SF.

I have been very happy and impressed with the care I’ve been given by Dr. Tiffany, Josh, and the whole team. The office is lovely and very clean. And getting to watch Netflix during my cleaning is an extra bonus. I would definitely recommend this dental office to anyone looking.
Dr Hall and her staff are consumate professionals. I’ve had lots of work done here over the years, and recently just drove all the way from Denver for replacement (and long overdue) veneers. I have the greatest confidence in her skill, and the staff is always the best!
A great experience! I was, like most people, nervous about having root canal, but the staff and Dr. Dadvand were all so reassuring. It was actually very meditative to lay there - I felt in very good hands. Everything was very clearly explained, both ahead and after, and I never felt rushed with my questions. Amazingly, after the procedure, I had zero pain that day and the days after. Oh, did I mention the views from the office are so spectacular that even reclined on the chair, I could sense the space and beauty of the SF Bay Area.
My friend highly recommend coming to this dentist that he has been going for years. My 1st vist Amazing cleaning. My teeth feel so good. Everything is explained to you very well. Im happy with my choice

I visited designing smiles for a brief exam in regards to a VA disability claim and was pleasantly surprised by the office and staff. Dr. Hall was incredibly kind and thorough during my visit and her front office staff was both friendly and professional. The office itself sits on the top floor of the building giving an excellent view of the bay and Alcatraz. I would absolutely recommend this practice to anyone seeking dental care.
My very first impression was WOW! I received a friendly reminder phone call by an actual person and not a machine. I was instructed to where they were located and how the room number meant what floor they were on. Next impression, I showed up a little early and the ladies at the front desk greeted me and actually called me by name, so they were truly expecting me. The office was clean and well kept. The view from the 26th floor had a calming effect on me. Dr. Hall was amazing, she was professional and very informative. I would recommend this place to anyone!!!
Love Dr Hall and team at Designing Smiles! I have been a patient for about four years -- routine cleanings and what not; I found the team and their processes very friendly and modern. Filings for example were quicker and much less scary than I recall. Recently I did Invisalign over the past year with Dr Hall, am very happy with the result. There too, much easier than I expected. Plenty of information and answers. The team was also great about moving my appointments all around during the pandemic. The last thing I wanted to do was go outside to the dentist!, but they made it easy for me and I felt safe.

Dr Hall and her staff went out of their way to accommodate my unusual and urgent need to have dental work done promptly. I needed to take an emergency trip back East to be with my gravely ill Mum who had taken a turn for the worse. They were very compassionate and understanding of the urgency I was feeling. I’m certain this caused them inconvenience but they were in good humor. They are all wonderful in that office and you can’t go wrong with your dental needs.
Dr. Hall and her staff are so friendly and overall amazing! I started coming to see her when my friend recommended me to her about 4-5 years ago. I was nervous to get started with my Invisalign but she made the entire journey very easy and now I have a beautiful, straight smile!!! Very friendly environment. Not too hectic and extremely organized. First time getting a dental exam after getting out of the military and was nervous since I was sent there by the VA to get an evaluation for a claim.The staff was super friendly and professional. The receptionist’s were super kind and helpful. The dental tech was very straight forward and personable.Dr. Hall was extremely professional and kind. She listened and asked questions and showed that she cared through her actions.I’m honestly perplexed that my experience went so well after hearing of all the nightmares that the VA causes to vets or friends of mine who got out.More practices like this should be around. 100% worth the 2 hour drive. Was a great start to my day after dealing with traffic coming from salinas CA.If you have a choice, go see Dr. Hall. That’s someone who actually cares about what she does and has passion for what she does and acts like a normal human. Not just in it for the money.Thank you to all the staff for the wonderful experience. The good folks Dr. Aja Hall Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry have been taking excellent care of my choppers for well over a decade. Everything about their practice is first-rate. Their location is now wholly inconvenient for me (I moved, they didnt!) but I willingly sacrifice a large part of my day commuting round the Bay when its time to visit the dentist. When you find a medical practitioner who is as capable, consistent, conscientious, thorough, and skilled as Dr.Aja , well, you want to trust your care to them for as long as humanly possible.
Perfect dentist. Friendly helpful front desk. Easy to get appointment times. No needless waiting - they see you at your appointment time. Modern tech, Netflix, light airy offices at the top floor. Christina does my cleaning quickly, efficiently and rigorously, and Dr Hall has been helping with my Invisalign, fillings and retainers. This is the perfect place if you live or work in SF.They’ve been great during the pandemic. Very safe, careful, accommodating and friendly. Only reason I’ve been coming into the city.
I’ve visited designing smiles twice, once for a general cleaning and the other time was for a deep cleaning. Both experiences were great, the staff are very professional and knowledgeable when it comes to dentistry. I got to watch Netflix during my deep cleaning which I thought was very cool. I also misplaced an item of mine and one of the staff members found it next to the elevator, I really appreciated that! Overall, a very solid dentist and I’ve throughly enjoyed my experiences at Designing Smiles SF.
I had a great experience here! The office has been renovated and is amazingly clean and bright. Dr. Aja was very warm and welcoming and I appreciated her gentleness during my treatment. I have a tiny mouth, and luckily, she has petite, GENTLE hands. She was very sweet and really seemed like she cared about my concerns. She didn’t rush through the exam and was very thorough.Staff was friendly and informative. I’ve been to her office a few times for check ups and treatment, and have always had a great experience. Got some bleaching done and my smile looks AWESOME - no more yellowness and friends have commented on how happy and vibrant I look! I’ve recommended a few friends already and they were happy as well! After years and years of searching for the right dentist, Dr. Aja Hall was highly recommended to me by my friend who works in the same building as her office. I called her office and spoke with Liezel who scheduled me right away for my exam and cleaning. The office is easily accessible by public transportation for those that hate driving in San Franciscos busy streets. Dr. Hall is very gentle and professional, and the office is very modern and inviting. Christina did my cleaning and she was very informative and gave me advise on better oral care. I highly recommend Dr. Hall and her staff. See you in 6 months!
Went in for a root canal. Bobbie at the front desk was great. Everyone was nice. Of course it was a root canal so at the time it felt like a complete violation of my mouth, no pain just uncomfortable because it was a back molar and took over 2hrs. I feel like that is unavoidable. The most important part is that it’s now 3 days later and my mouth feels completely normal. I stopped taking ibuprofen yesterday because I wasn’t needing it and I never had to start antibiotics. This tells me that the procedure was done without any mistakes or complications. Knock on wood I haven’t jinxed myself with this review but A+ Dr. Aja Hall!

From booking the appointment, checking in, her assistant (sorry I can’t remember his name), the exam, checking out - everyone was as friendly and helpful as possible. Dr. Hall is gentle when examining and thorough in her explanations, going over options & ensuring I understood what she was explaining. I wish I had discovered the practice earlier, I fully recommend This practice to everyone.

I was never fond of going to the dentist, but after decades of wanting my teeth to be a little bit straighter I was in search for the best dentist. In comes Dr. Aja Hall who is highly recommended by my friends and family. I called their office and spoke with Liezel who was very friendly, informative and accommodating to my hectic schedule. I went to their office which was easily accessible by all means of transportation and found their spotless office overlooking the gorgeous view of downtown San Francisco. During the consultation Dr. Hall assured me that Invisalign was exactly what I needed to get my straight teeth. Fast forward to today, I am 3 trays shy from completing my Invisalign treatment to get my perfect smile. I am so grateful for her and her staff’s help, friendliness and professionalism.
I recently went to see Dr. Hall for the first time to get some work done. Im usually pretty nervous about going to the dentist, but she was very calm and gentle when she was working on my teeth. I was able to relax, and now my teeth feel great. I can tell shes meticulous as she didnt rush and took her time with me.

I had not seen the dentist in over 20 years. Needless to say, I needed some work. This included root canals, extractions, implants and crowns. Both Dr. Evangelista and Dr. Hall worked on me and they did a fantastic job! I look and feel great. I cant say how thankful I am to be able to eat again and I look great too!

Im embarrassed to say this, but I hadnt been to the dentist in over 10 years. My gums bled a lot, so I thought itd be a good idea to visit. I had deep cleaning with laser treatment and my gums have stopped bleeding! Christina and Dr. Hall spent the time to go over how to take better care of my gums and I know Im in excellent hands.

I started coming here pre-remodel.Dr. Hall - ability and relatedI take my smile very seriously – first thing most people see. She was able to show me my smile progression over time plus improvements that made sense. Both financially and IDK the word, but the way your teeth fit together and bite. Which are both super important to me and I didn’t feel like I was being recommended for misc procedures. The other nice thing about Dr. Hall is that she is trained in so many additional procedures and has numerous other resources. For me – I’m busy and need 1-stop shopping and that’s what I get from this office and my experiences.Changes or recommendationsWell, now that I work in San Jose – this location is so far. So maybe more offices out this way.Besides that – I think prices and hours are set based on the quality of work and service received. Major major scammers. Do. Not. Come. Here.1) they have great reviews because they give away stuff if you can prove you left a 5* Review.2) I came after newly moving to SF and after a cleaning and exam was told I needed 8k of dental work. Eight. Thousand. Dollars. Insanity. They were saying I needed a 4 quadrant deep cleaning, 2 crowns, and 2 fillings replaced. Thank god my scam radar went off and I went to someone else for a second opinion. In reality I needed 1 tiny cavity filled. Took 10 minutes and cost $50 after insurance.These absolute crooks would’ve stolen thousands from me and traumatized me by putting me through multiple painful. Expensive and unnecessary procedures.Scrolls through the yelp reviews to the 1 star ones.. . They are all saying the same thing . Thousands in unnecessary work and a prize for a 5 star review. These people should be arrested

I refuse to go anywhere else other dentist will make up things about your teeth to charge you more. Dr. Velasco is honest and so kind. I trust him and I drive an hour to see him no problem. The staff is amazing too.

Was playing tennis, and I had a terrible fall. I fractured my front teeth and had to go to the ER. I called Dr. Halls office and Dr. Evangelista took out my broken tooth and placed an implant at the same time. He made a fake tooth for me so I looked normal. Just got my final teeth and they look great! Thank you very much!
All my life, Ive had gum recession. I was terrified to cut the gum from the roof of my mouth. Dr. Hall let me know there was a way to do it without cutting my own tissue. The procedure was not bad at all! The pain was minimal and my recovery was pretty quick. Now, my gums looks great!
Dr. Hall and Dr. Nguyen are awesome! The level of work is impeccable and they have a caring demeanor. Its always a pleasure to come get my teeth cleaned and taken care of.
I’ve been a long time patient at Dr. Aja Halls office. The entire staff is extremely trustworthy, transparent and kind. The view is amazing and the appointments start and finish on time!It also helps that their equipment is state of the art and location is convientiently located in union square!
Dr Anja was very personable and professional. The visit was quick and efficient. The view of the bay from the dental chair was amazing. I highly recommend.
Not recommended, unfortunately.***Had a decent first experience here, but the practitioner was a bit condescending and didnt have the best bedside manner.Afterwards, they sent me a large bill adjustment with no warning that I didnt agree with.My coworker reported having the same experience.Now they spam call me pretty frequently.

Dr. Hall saved my tooth! My baby hit her head on my tooth and half of it broke off! I was mortified. Dr. Hall got me in immediately and fixed it so you cant even tell it was broken! I think it looks even better than before. Thank you so much!

Terrific dentist with helpful and friendly staff. The office is centrally located downtown and easy to get to using MUNI or BART. If I drive, I park at Stockton and Sutter which is very close by as well.

They incorrectly bill patients and do not refund overpayments in a timely manner. I have called 3 times and every time their incompetent office manager is out of office and does not respond.

2022-02-10This review is long overdue. In November of 2019, I saw Dr. Aja Hall for a consultation for 4 porcelain veneers. From the start, I could tell she was very passionate about her work and she was really patient with answering all my questions about my proposed treatment plan. I can honestly say, proceeding with having the veneers done was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I have gained so much confidence and I never stop smiling. I moved from San Francisco a few years ago and other dentists and hygienists have complemented on how beautiful my veneers are! Dr. Hall is super friendly, understanding of your goals, and incredibly skilled. I have also interacted with Bobby at the front desk on several occasions. She is super helpful and very accommodating. I recently broke one of my retainers. I contacted Dr. Hall’s office and the next day Bobby called me right away willing to help me get my retainer replaced. Dr. Hall and her team are such a pleasure to work with. If I ever need any cosmetic dentistry, I will be coming back here!

2022-02-08I found Dr. Hall when I was having a dental emergency. I could not find any dentist that was open on a Saturday morning for an appointment. Dr. Hall called me back right away, and came in on her day off when no one else would!Dr. Hall clearly explained the options, and ensured I was comfortable and not in any pain throughout the procedure. The office also has nice perks for those that do not enjoy the dentist, beautiful top floor views, and noise cancelling headphones to watch your favorite show on the ceiling.Dr. Hall did not only give up a chunk of her weekend to come in and help a patient she had never met, she also did an incredible job on my tooth! 1/3rd of my front tooth had re-broken. She matched my tooth shape and color literally perfectly, it looks better than it did when the real tooth chip had been previously bonded back on.I am so grateful to Dr. Hall and highly recommend her and her practice!Thank you!

2022-05-10This place has been my consistent go to dentist for more than 8 years. I moved away from SF and still fly back to go to this dentist. Yes, they are that good. An office with beautiful views and even friendlier, caring, and extremely capable staff. HIGHLY recommend!!

2022-04-04Absolutely love, LOVE Dr. Nguyen, Christina, Josh, Pablo, Bobbie, and everyone else I’ve met there! The kindest, most compassionate and professional team ever! I’ve had 5 dentists and this is by far my favorite. I usually dread getting teeth cleanings because they always hurt, but not when it’s done here. Not sure how they do it but they make the experience painless and fun. And they’ve been great through COVID, staying safe yet still providing excellent care. Thank you all!!!

2022-05-03Ive had two appointments with Designing Smiles and I cannot say enough good things about this team! Bobbie, the front desk manager, is incredibly friendly. Shes seriously so kind, knowledgable, and positive!! Christina and Dr. Nguyen are thorough, transparent, and have made my trips to the dentist as enjoyable as dental procedures can be;) They also have an incredible referral program so if its your first time, find someone to refer you to receive a discount off your first visit:)

2022-02-08I was very nervous at first, walking into designing smiles or any dentistry. But once I walked into the doors I Felt comfortable being there. The dental staff are very courteous and friendly, and all of them are all greeting you with a smile and that is a smile I would like have! I understand that implants but is the first step of getting my smile back and my confidence. It’s not what I think about what people think about me is what I think about myself that makes me who I am. I can’t wait until I have my bottoms put in and fitted. And I believe designing smiles could do that for me and more. So thank you everybody I designing smiles for getting me back to Health

2022-07-19Friendly atmosphere and you feel like family. They provide ultimate care to assure that you are comfortable offering Netflix or Spotify while they work on my teeth. The best part is the quality of work and efficiency! I was in and out the door in less than an hour for my regular cleaning - don’t forget the Fluoride, it’s worth it! Plus, breath-taking Bay views gives you an emotional escape!

2022-04-19So happy with the whole team at Designing Smiles. Felt something was wrong so I called Bobbie, and was in right away.Dr Nguyen was and is awesome. Never felt this comfortable in a dental chair before.Also, got a chance to check out the show, Schitts Creek. Very funny.You know you are happy with your dentist if you can kick back and enjoy a show.08/18/22Revisited Dr Nguyen for my checkup and cleaning yesterday. Awesome no waiting service as usual. I mentioned to Dr Nguyen that I was concerned about the widening gap between my permanent tooth and my temporary tooth from my bone graph that is still heeling because my son’s wedding pictures were happening soon. The gap was definitely noticeable and I didn’t want it to show up in the photos.Well, Dr Nguyen to the rescue. She worked her magic with some composite and Abracadabra, she reshaped the next tooth over to hide the gap. Thank you, thank you! Not worried about the pictures anymore.I can hardly wait to go back and get my permanent new smile. 💕
