Beautiful and underrated state Park compared to joshua tree national Park. Its been a great first time desert experience. Many nice cactuses and nice surroundings. Scenic drive from. San Diego into the park expecially the last bit descending into the valley. Beautiful, worth a visit and very close to the San Diego area.

Absolutely beautiful. Got to do some pretty good off-roading on sand and rock trails. We even forded a steam.

Superb!Beautiful beyond your imagination.Peaceful, quiet, warm and amazing.It would be a good secret, but people who love the desert should visit it.(A few at time)

Beautiful desert area. Very dry right now but should be better after a rain. Road in is washboarded in places but any cars should be ok.

Desert Gardens in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park is an excellent site for wildflower viewing, especially if youre a little too early for the peak bloom or superbloom. After a short drive down a dirt road you will reach this spot which has a small area for parking, some signs explaining the history of the site, a picnic table, and a bench placed on top of a small hill. There are no facilities and the only shade to be found is at the bases of ocotillos. Bring whatever you need and remember to leave it as you found it.

Its a maybe 30 foot hike up to a bench and you can see for miles. Absolutely gorgeous, worth the stop on your way out to sheep canyon.

Easy hike to top of hill for a long distance view point. Up close at the end of Feb 2018, the desert liles leafs had emerged and Ocotillo have started bloomimg.
