The games were fun and the food was solid. My only feedback is that there isnt anyone taking orders. Its all done digital. This takes so much away from thr customer experience. Being able to engage with a friendly staff member when placing an order can really elevate a night out. Im sure there is a reasoning for the digital orders, but Id recommend using a person again.
Food is decent and game selection is also decent, but its mostly redemption games with few classics. They removed the Dance Dance Revolution and Pump It Up dance game machines recently, so I havent came back because members of a certain group of rhythm gamers also never came back here either. Because of this, I regret why there isnt a closer Round1 location (they have a wide variety of games there, more than what D&Bs has), as the nearest one is 45 minutes away without traffic (the Temecula location) and is a nightmare to get to.
Small location. Some Id the games were not working. It is inside a mall. Parking is tough to find due to this. Even if you are here early the parking will be terrible as it is next to a 24 gour fitness gym. They open at 11 by that time everyone is al ready heading to the mall. Not the best location. The walk inside is a bit far once you get inside a little annoying if you have kids as the entrance isnt the most convenient. The service could be better. Some of the restaurant wait staff seem like they hate their jobs and do not actually want to be there/work there. It is a bit depressing and kills the vibe of the whole arcade experience at times. Come early. There are some regulars and tourists that go here to eat in the morning during lunch, which can get busy no matter the day of the week. Seats are plenty before the evening. It takes a while for them to get your order. Small location compared to one in San Diego.Plenty of games. They do a good job of getting service on the games when needed and asked. Bathrooms are not as clean. Can be cleaner, it feels like the casino restrooms people coming in and out. Some of the areas lack cleaning. People spill food, and some of the staff are not the best at keeping the game room clean. The spacing is not the best, sometimes you will bump into people as they have machines so close to each other. This can be quite annoying especially to those who arent comfortable with people packed so closed.Avoid the evening as it is the time where it is the dirtiest and gets filled up with a lot of teenagers coming in and out. The best times are during the day if you want to spend quality time with your family or children as the areas are still clean and the games are available.
I used to come here a lot before COVID with the kids and always had a blast. Now fast forward to now and the place is ran by new management and employees and you can totally tell. The entrance was really nice with greeting and helping us purchase cards, but our waitress forgot to bring my water multiple times. The food menu has drastically changed and it just doesn’t feel like it’s worth the extra bucks. I hope they bring back a lot of the old menu items, and they allow this place to lower the cost to playing games. Imagine buying a power up card for both your kids and almost every game that was exciting was 10-17 tokens? That 123 tokens we bought went by very fast.Only thing good here was this sandwich!
Its so nice to be back to somewhat normal! Celebrated my sons graduation, the staff were extremely friendly. We had a blast Celebrateing.. they did an uograde on the food! I wish I took pictures. The food is wayyyyy better. More options. The flat bread pizza was amazing and so was the HUGH pretzels . That was a huge hit! Thank you Dave and Busters!! Loved being back :)P.S. please dont ever get rid of the hungry hungry hippo game.. I laughed so hard watching these grown kids play.. lol..
If not for the cleanliness and lack of locks in bathroom stalls, this would be one of the better locations. The game and security staff were very attentive and helpful. The games were all working and clean. The music wasn’t too loud or obnoxious. The restaurant staff did look barebones/minimal.The location is great for selection of doing other things. There is a Texas de Brazil and Cheesecake Factory right by it.
Bad service. Seems like an inconvenience to get food order sitting and waiting for nobody to come. Ordered steak nachos and got chicken instead. Didnt even bother to complain. Were too hungry to wait Bartenders are not prompt to serve u and it was rather an empty. Stood at the counter just trying tl be patient then switched to the otherr side to get noticed even though its slow time of the day. Dissatisfied with the experience compared to the Milpitas location that I go to for a good time to have fun. But I guess the video games for the kids will have to do.
What a let down, food service was horrible, they forgot about one of our meals and we had to keep asking whatever waiter was walking by to check on it. Everyone else was done by the time it showed up( ended up taking it off bill and packing it to-go). Was really bummed to see all the games 80% or so involved gambling for tickets, it is not the arcade it used to be. Pretty disturbing watching a kid playing a slot machine for tickets. Dont think I will be going back.
Always alot of fun for the kids and adults. This D & Bs is in a great location at the mall situated just below Regal theaters and surrounded by other great restaurants like Cheesecake Factory, Texas de Brazil, and the Yardhouse. Not to mention it is a mall complex, so, a full day could be filled by planning a trip to this D & Bs.They have alot of nice games and it seems they have brought in some newer ones which means this particular spot cares about staying current with quality entertainment. There are also some virtual reality setups that look pretty cool, but I didnt try them out personally. Have fun!
We recently celebrated my sons 4th bday at Dave and Busters, Myself my 7 year old daughter and my girl and her daughter had a great night. We had dinner and played games, the food was good and service was on point there were a few hick ups with the ordering only cuz the system the were using was new but nothing major it all worked out. We will definitely be doing it again soon.
This place is a lot of fun. Good atmosphere, large play area. Good food and drinks. We frequent here often. Only thing I wish they would do differently would be to allow adults to use tickets earned in games on beer, food or something more fun. If they would add an adult ticket prize section that would be epic as we often do date nights here and win tickets but you cant use them because its all kids stuff basically or junk that you wouldnt put in your house. Dont get me wrong, for kids this is a good prize zone, better then most. But play consider putting alcohol vouchers or discount coupons for food, or free appetizer, or movie tickets as prizes. It would go over very well and motivate us to spend more money on ticket games. Because who doesnt like winning tickets. So help us spend em already :) be unique!!!!
Its a fun place to play especially for the kids but regardless what night we come service is painfully slow. Had to find someone after sitting in our booth for 15 minutes just to even be acknowledged. Other than that food wasnt too bad and like I mentioned previously it is a fun place to be
Always a fun time here minus the boot marines thinking they’re cool and telling everybody and all the girls who don’t care that they are marines. Other than that this place is flame. Had to come and set the Guitar Hero leaderboards. Place is fun. As long as you stay away from the lady’s that bring all their “blessings” who she can’t control and they start running into you but the vibe is chill and games are cool. Some of the games are nasty tho like that VR stuff haha why put on a greasy headset someone just used lmao
This place has gone down hill with these new COVID rules that make no sense. U can sit at a table but not order food through the waitress…so everything’s online made our party with older ppl very confused. we were celebrating my brothers birthday in a big group but no one asked, we were treated pretty bad not sure how these service ppl will make tips with these weird COVID rules now. Also all the workers are very busy talking to each other and playing video games on shift. I used to like this place but it’s not worth the money we spent over $150 and I didn’t even get dinner just nibbled on appetizers.
Only arcade type chain left in the country and it does a great job at staying modern and fresh. The games are all new and well maintained. The prices are okay; not too expensive but not cheap either. The food is good but I wouldn’t come here to eat considering the restaurants that are literally next door. If you wanna give your kid $50 and drop them off here for a couple hours they can have a lot of fun and spend a lot of time depending on what they play. Prizes are also priced well. Some games are unnecessarily expensive for some reason lol. Like you will have a long game for like 3 credits and then some random one will be like 12.
My wife and I just came from here. The only good part was the food was good and it was fun. One of our problems was that you don’t really have a server. You order everything through the app but still have to tip the “server”. We understand tipping and usually give more than 20% (my wife is a server). Yet our “server” did not come over once besides to drop off our drinks. She did not check on us to make sure we have everything, if we needed anything, etc. We both were beyond thirsty but never could get a water since she did not come over once. We had to ask a food runner but he forgot (I get it’s not his job but he’s the only one who checked on us). We needed ketchup, napkins and a fork but never got any of it. The server also left while we were finishing up but did not come over to communicate that to us nor did the new server come over to check on us. For tipping the first “server” over $20 for doing literally nothing besides bring 2 drinks to us is ridiculous. How does that make any sense? Check on your tables, make sure they are good. Do not do nothing. This makes us not want to eat at a table, we might as well sit at the bar where we would get service. They was ridiculous. Your “servers” need to be trained properly and have some customer service. Horrible.
As an avid rhythm gamer I love coming here to spend my time and play Dance Dance Revolution and Pump it up. They even installed cooling fans for the rhythm games in the ceiling to keep players comfortable during long play sessions! The rhythm games here are well maintained and I must say they register inputs much better then the San Diego location further south. This location never gets too busy, even on weekends. Only a short wait at most to play the games :)Can’t say much on the food here though, as I seldom eat at this location. The bar is good though!
Food is hit or miss. We got pepperoni flatbread (excellent), pretzel dogs (pretty sure they were previously frozen then microwaved), mushroom stout burger (excellent), southwest Cobb (terrible and cheap), mushroom pasta (ok). The flatbread was so good! Had a nice smokey flavor. The pretzel dogs were good, but definitely not fresh and had been reheated. The Cobb salad was laughable. The chicken pieces were unseasoned, and the rest of the salad was just a little cheese and corn, which was underneath the lettuce for some reason. The mushroom pasta was a little one note and was ok but again, the chicken was not seasoned, just coated in flour and fried. All in all, 3 stars seems about right. The service was also just ok.
So we came in for a little birthday party, the ladies at the register were great and very helpful, but the service was horrible. You expect to have a waitress to take your order and instead your waitress tells you to use the app to order. We had 3 different familes place orders and everything was delivered at different times and unless you want water you cant get a soda or mixed drink until you place your whole order. Also, multiple people bring your food out and no one knows who ordered what so its confusing for everyone at the table as well. The only way to fix this is to have waitresses/waiters be human and work. Instead of electronics.
Pros: Nice people and staff , drinks and food really good and the location is cool because its inside of the local mall. CONS: Its quite a bit smaller than the mission Valley location and seating for dinner was atrocious. You literally have to walk around the bar for an hour hoping someone gets up from a table to order food. Also at this location you cant leave the extremely small bar area with your drink which I feel is the best part of Dave and busters, to play and drink at the same time. Because the bar area is relatively small and the line so long you may take 45 min just to get a drink and it takes away from the experience of playing and enjoyment. The mission Valley location has multiple bars throughout the arcade.
The new rules really bummed me and my friends out. Oh youre over 18 but under 25? Too bad! Youre not allowed in! Whatever incident that occurred to have created this rule mustve been bad but it shouldnt involve everybody. I understand theres a bar, but can you just look and check for ID? Anyways save your time and look for a babysitter while coming here otherwise theyre gonna kick you out. :/
My husband and I just went there Saturday December 4th to the carlsbad location, we both used our debit cards at the bar and thats the only place weve both used our cards! and now we are both getting notifications from our banks of fraud transactions in CARLSBAD and we live in temecula and its only 4 days later. Definitely dont trust this place or the bartenders that had our cards on file
Was not impressed food was just ok. To order was difficult and had crashed 2wice before it went through the waiter /waitress just walked around not asking if I needed help.It wasnt a overly busy night. Games were fun for the kids and me. It just seem like the staff wasnt helpful and the food was just ok. Ill have to give it another try maybe it was just a off night.
I know d&b can be a busy spot but we literally waited an hour standing at the bar just to get a drink, there was nearly no staff to take drink orders or to take food orders on a Friday night. One of my buddies that doesnt drink apparently flagged down a waitress and ordered wings while we were waiting to get a drink then when his food was brought to a table (which the table also took forever to snag) the server placed the food then dipped so fast and didnt bother to ask if anyone else wanted to place an order. Honestly I feel bad for the staff, because there was almost no coverage so you know the guys/gals where just drowning. Wings and fries were good though lol
Their website advertises birthday parties but apparently they are short on staff and are only doing birthday parties of 15+ kids (or charging that as a minimum) with a $100 room rental per hour.Seems like some missed opportunities. All the best to you guys but we wont be back.
One of our favorite hangouts places...!! Misses it for more than a year. Amazing games and super delicious food and booze. With the pandemic going on they are keeping up their best to follow safely measures and sanitizer station and gloves. Feels safe and will recommend people to visit.
As someone who used to work here in the kitchen, its honestly depressing to see how much the menu shrunk. On my days off I came here to eat with the family and now there isnt anything that I used to order left. Hope they eventually bring back the full menu once things start getting better. Food still tastes solid though and the serves was great.
Not liking the fact that you have to order everything via the QR code menu option. In order to order your food you have to pay first and leave tip BEFORE you even see a server. A least this was our case. No one came to take our order or see if we needed anything, help, a cup of water,, etc. Pretty much you have to leave a tip before anyone even brings you water, assuming you ordered it via the QR code. So far this is not good customer service in my opinion, yet I had to leave a tip beforehand, for non service rendered yet.
The food was subpar and the customer service wasnt that great either. I didnt get my drinks until I was finished eating. And thats after asking 3 different people and the same 1 twice. The only positive was the games. Please stay away from the dine-in area. There are other restaurants in the mall. My bacon burger was filled with alot of bacon grease. And my wife nachos was burned.
I absolutely love the ambiance however the menu doesnt have vary many price efficient snacking options (starters) My fiancé and I went to have a drink and maybe a starter at the bar however we just evened up having the drinks. :) Bar tender was amazing! Such friendly staff!
All the games work! Imagine that! Seemed very clean. Bar was nice. Food was good. I ordered the pretzel & it was as big as my head. It should come with more beer cheese, but extra wasnt too pricey. Bartenders were great, poured good drinks. My advice if your going at night- Park outside the Cheesecake Factory. The mall closes at 8pm and so does the escalators. They are blocked off ,in fact, after hours. So if you park outside the theater you will be walking pretty far in the creepy dark. Let alone if you park on the South side at the other end of the mall. Security is nice & would probably help you, but why hassle. Park freeway side. Oh 1 more thing, some games require you to tap the key pad again with your play card in order to claim your won tickets. Dont leave them for someone else to claim!Only complaint- The girls that work at the prize room check out. Not friendly. Not nice. Kinda doesnt seem like they are working at a fun place? They dont like you or your kid, so dont ask anything lol.. Have fun!
Went saturday at 6pm. Service was very inattentive and even though they could take your orders they chose to have us all download apps and take orders individually. They waitress was not able to explain the features or the process well nor did she inform us that we couldnt walk around with drinks. Silverware and napkins had to be asked for and even when we tried to order a lemonade she tries to get us to order a different drink. The garlic truffle fries, which are 12$ had zero truffle and were doused in garlic. When asked for a replacement with garlic parmesan fries, they sprinkled almost none just on the top if the fries with the waitress just dropping them off and saying nothing and walking away. It was just very unorganized and lacked professionalism. However, my sandwich was good. So thanks to the chef for that.
We had my sons 10yh birthday party here. Him and his friends had a great time. The games are in good condition and using the players card is easy, although the games cost a lot to play. You can burn through $50 in credits pretty quickly. The food was good, although it took a long time to get it. Granted... the restaurant was busy at the time. Its a fun place to spend a rainy day, but plan on spending a lot on both food and games.
Fries were cold, sandwich took a long time to come out, alcohol drinks were water down, our server did not seem like he wanted to serve us, the ticket center person was giving attitude unless thats her personality which needs to be checked. Took a long time to get seen at the bar when it was slow. The QR ordering does not make since if we have to place the order on one device instead of having menus out to have the adults at least look at it because the waiter comes over. He just came and said he was our server and had to do it by QR scan code and he will be with us after. This has became sad.
My husband and I visited D&B Carlsbad last night. At least 10 people werent wearing masks, no one was enforcing it.Also we swiped our cards numerous time at a few coin pusher machines but coins were never dispensed- probably wasted 30 coins. We were not able to find any staff to assist us either.
The restaurant is the worst! We got here waited to be seated which is ok.. but when we sat down, No waiter in sight!! So upset that my kids had to wait a long time for their drinks and food.. Then when our food came out we kept asking them where our drinks, almost done with the food at this point... 40mins later everyone else got theirs not ours..kept asking.. smh. Thank God the manager was here today. .. what a shame D&B ..ridiculousSo upset I will never eat here again. 😪..
Feb 5 - Very first visit to a Dave & Busters location. We were trying to find something to do that would work well for grandparents and a very energetic boy. You hit the jackpot with this concept. The food and service were great. I had the Chicken Alfredo and it was excellent. Our table was beside the gaming area so the boy could come and go and share his excitement. Quite noisy but well worth it!!
I love going to this place! They have good food and fun arcade games to play. The only two problemsare the food items are expensive that I have go somewhere else to eat and come back, and the games like Skee Ball and the Monster Drop Extreme are always broke when I come to visit D&Bs. But overall, its one of my favorite places to go!
I just want to start out that I loved Dave & Busters before Covid. I decided to go out tonight to have my kids play a few video games and everything is good at the front until about 10 minutes in I noticed that at least 10 people are not wearing a mask. My kids and I are wearing a mask and there is a sign in the front that says mask required, but there is no one enforcing it. This is why we are still in a pandemic and things are not getting better. I asked a older adult playing a video game why he wasn’t wearing a mask and his reason was because no one told me I had too. I told him there was a big sign in the front, but he did not seem to care. I felt very uncomfortable so I left immediately with my children. Not sure if I’m coming back.
I was here last Sunday, and I was here today and its always the same rude staff and whats even worse is that for one thing its super crowded in which I understand, but with it being super crowded theres always that one that rains on the parade so with that being said I was at a ticket redemption game when suddenly a large group followed by 3 children jumped in front of my game still in progress in which there was no apology, no words exchanged to me so basically the credits I had remaining in the machine was stolen, I didnt even bother telling any attendants about what happened since there was no one to be found and one lady that gave me such an attitude that I had 9,000 tickets on one card and I gave it away on account of me being so upset and so ashamed. I spent over $200 and this is the misfortune that I get all because I wanted to try to enjoy myself prior to a work week beginning soon. But thisll be the last day ever that I not only spend 200 bucks on prize games but the very last day I step foot in this place.
Pretty fun place. Welcoming for adults and children. Changing prize section so its never boring with prizes. Their food is pretty good. They changed some things on their menu... Not too happy with the change for their nachos. I would give 5 stars but they do have a server there that Im unhappy with. Every time we get him we always have a messed up order. We have to get our own refills. Etc... We still tip but usually other servers help us and we tip them too.
It’s a fun place, but game play is a little confusing. They didn’t seem to have a lot of beers to choose from but then again I stuck to just jack and coke all night. Went on a Thursday night and was surprised by how many kids were there and just how busy it was in general. The food was surprisingly delicious. The wings were phenomenal and the nachos were very tasty. Our server was alright. Overall I had fun and there are some really cool games to play but I don’t think it’s anything special.
The customer service was a bit of a shot in the dark and not the friendliest when buying the tickets. The system for getting drinks when you are not able to sit at the bar and you walk up was a hassel. Went there to have fun and felt short of that. Wish I could have had a better experience with the customer service. The atmosphere was okay. It was my first time there and did not get the hype of what everyone claims. Did get to spend time with my significant other and hangout so not the worst.
As an adult I really enjoy this place. Its kid friendly my son is 4 and he LOVES it. I really like that for the money, you get to play alot of games and the points stack up. I really like that the toys they have are nice unlike chuck e cheese under a dollar prizes. I would recommend this place to anyone because its fun regardless of your age. Also the food is pretty good and Ive always gotten great customer service.
Restaurant was really good, service was good, and the tortilla soup was the best I ever had and I am from Texas and have had a lot of different tortilla soups! Well done! Arcade was pretty cool. Packed and yet nobody seemed to be hogging anything. Great place for kids and adults!
I was initially annoyed after we sat here for 15 minutes with no one coming over to take our order. Then I discovered that while part of the restaurant was seat yourself, this part was not. I motioned to a waitress and she got us some menus and took our order. My son ordered a full rack of baby back ribs which came with those tiny fried onion rings. I ordered the steak & shrimp with pasta. I think my entree cost $31.99 but it came with a free $20 game card to use in the game room. Not a bad deal. Our food was very good. We also had a steak nachos for appetizer which was delicious. For dessert we had a Sundae Tower which to me looked like something from Steven Kings Dark Tower movie. This too was delicious. Overall a nice meal and we had fun in the game room playing air hockey, driving games etc. There are lots of TVs here if you want to watch a game.
You can’t go wrong at Dave & Buster’s. And it’s age friendly, something for everyone. And the food and the drinks selection is good. With favors and taste to please even the most difficult taste buds. And they have discount days and times to. So if you’re alone or going with a large group, go on line and check out the specials. Then let the games and fun begin. And grab a bite off the menu, your tummy will thank you.😜
First time going and man, it was great! Nice to go somewhere (as adults) have a few drinks and still be able to enjoy arcade games! Our bartender was very proficient and professional and top notch. The guy that worked at the ticket redeem area was so nice into helping me out with redeeming my prizes. I really did like the idea that every arcade game, there was a small table to place your drink by.
The restaurant staff were quick, friendly, and professional. There is an atmosphere of personal touch. Keep in mind, when I went, we were with a group of about 20 people and had called ahead. Needless to say, this is a good practice anywhere so as to not bombard the staff with a large group. Regardless, the staff handled all of our tables and orders correctly and with care. It did not feel rushed and the experience certainly did not feel void of any customer/staff relation. Overall, a very good restaurant that I recommend.
Big Dave and Busters fans. First time to visit one in a mall. Really helpful front desk staff - helped our party locate a place in the mall that sold gum.. harder than youd think.Food n drinks were great. Service was attentive.Great collection of games that brought us back several times during our week in Carlsbad.
Fun place I will be back soon great games but you guys are Missing two popular great games, you guys really need street fighter 2 champion edition arcade and street fighter 2 world warrior arcade other than that thats why you get 4 out of 5 stars , I think it would be worth the investment a lot of people like these two games
Dave & Busters is so much fun! Whether youre a kid or an adult you are bound to have a good time here. Their food is decent and the drinks are not as strong as you would hope them to be but still good. I love taking my son here. Its such a good time. The staff is professional, helpful, and I have not had any issues here.
Really fun place to get a bite or drink a beer or cocktail. Suitable for the whole family. Specially good for the little ones, but not tedious or boring for adults. Place is kept clean at all times. Bathrooms are clean and stocked with the essentials. Take advantage of the daily specials if have a large family or if in a budget.
My first time eating at a Dave and Busters I was really satisfied. Complements to the chef for making the food quick, great, well displayed, and delicious. The food arrive around the same time as our alcoholic beverage so thats a plus. The waiter was working really work hard and it showed the waiter did outstanding especially during a busy night. Overall I recommend coming here but not on a Friday-Sunday night but still a great time.
Bartenders are okay. Not extremely knowledgeable about the beer, ciders, or alcohol on tap. For example asked if they had any choices told no.... discovered advertisement for Angry Orchard Rose while playing games. Yes they had ciders. They have amazing deals so dont forget to look for those. They have ample seating. Food is good. Servers are not overly attentive but can be hard to find if needed.Games are so much fun. Since break down fairly often but the attendants for the games are cool to refund games.Add an adult I appreciate a place that I can drink and have fun.
For my 39th birthday, my wife and I went for the all-you-can-eat wings & all-you-can-play blue games, for $21.99. Our waiter, Christian, was personable and attentive. The wings were decent, and they kept bringing them out consistently. The games were awesome! The NFL games were on. I got a free birthday dessert. It was a great time!
Theres a line but you can request bar area and a party of about 4 are good to sit there at the high tables. Server was great , she was very funny and friendly, great vibes from her. Food was so good. Maybe 10 minute wait for the food so not bad at all. Plenty of selections on the menu . And omg the desserts!! Definitely try one!
Normally I love this place. This last visit though, we were told to seat ourselves and when we did, no server came in about 15 minutes that we were there. When one of the girls did walk up to us, she just said this table is reserved ( there wasnt anything on the table to let us know that) so I said okay and asked her if theres another table open for 6 people. All she said was no, sorry And walked away. Im a store director and teach customer service, we did not get that from her. I was going to do a Yelp review but decided not to. It was my grandsons birthday and I was disappointed.
I havent ate at this location but the food at Dave & Busters is good. We like to go on Wednesday to get the deal of half off games. Its always fun just going in their and playing some games. Also liked that they are partnered with Make A Wish and they have silent auctions every once in a while.
This place is worth 5 stars. Every time I come I get great service, hot food, and cold beer. The mixed drinks are fun, and the special little ice cubes are cool. For pub style food you gotta try the burgers, they are huge and tasty. Also the deals during games and happy hours are some of the best around. One of my favs.
They really do have good food and a large variety of different types of food which satisfies the entire family. I would like to see more old school type of video games that are a little cheaper oh, so we can stay a lot longer and enjoy the atmosphere. I will always take the family back there for good times!
The arcade was the only thing cool about this place. The service was awful, so was the food & I guess I paid $60 for an hour of arcade, only to leave with no cheap toys from the arcade & a wonderful case of food poisoning. Epic failure. It literally seemed like an upscale Chuck E Cheese with the same level of cleaniness.
They have some sort of secret sauce that they put in all their food to make it taste exceptionally good. This is the best junk food around! This location has personnel issues. They definitely could be more successful if they offered more training opportunities to their employees. But overall great junk food and awesome games = Fun!
Fantastic service, tasty food. Even though it was closing time, they werent rude about it. We recently went to the D&B in San Diego, and were very disappointed with the way our server and manager handled our table. Here at this Carlsbad location, they were amazing!! Our server, Elizabeth was right on point. She made us feel comfortable, even though the place was closing soon. Our food came out perfect, no complaints. Ive never had a bad experience since they opened. I would choose this Carlsbad location over the San Diego one, any day.
The drinks and games were fantastic! Drinks were of a healthy strength and reasonably priced; everything was clean, and of the dozens of games I only encountered one that was out of order. The food was awful, and the services was worse. Under-cooked wings, chicken quesadillas with no cheese, salsa straight from a Pace jar, and cheese sauce from Circle K. Saw our server twice in the hour we were there. Spent 25 minuets from when we finished eating (plates clean) being ignored by the rest of the dining area staff and waiting for the check.Come for the drinks/games, then go eat next door at The Cheesecake Factory...
This place is always fun for me and the kidds! love the atmosphere and love the big selection of games. They have half of games on Wednesdays. Only issue Ive ever encountered was when they first opened their doors they had really slow service but they def picked it up and have been doing an amazing job! Highly recommend to come watch sporting events, super fun!
I AM IMPRESSED! My brother and I went in today at this location and have to admit our time was amazing. We went to dine at their facility and our waiter Nicolas was very attentive, respectful, and gave us outstanding service especially during the busy hour. When I went back to my car, my little brother noticed he lost his power card. He was upset so we went back to look where he may have dropped it. Unfortunately we could not find it so we went to the lost and found. The staff was so nice in helping us transfer the card points from his old account to a new card. They went above and beyond to help us and made our day. Thank you wonderful staff at Dave and Busters. You really earned 5 STARS!
We were a party of 15. Sam was our server, (Asian Sam) as she called herself because 2 other Sams work there. Sam was fantastic and very helpful. If she wasnt around at least 3 other servers brought items that we needed throughout the meal. Ordered pizzas not so good tasted like frozen pizza and cold within minutes . 3 appetizer platters, just ok, probably frozen and warmed to serve . Ribs and wings so so. Burger and fries, only ate a few bites . Meat tasted off. The food was not freshly made everything tasted previously frozen and reheated to serve . Service was good. Expensive food and games. The variety of games was top notch. It was good to try out but nothing to wow us to go back a second time .
I like Dave and Busters because its a place you can bring any mix of friends/family for a few hours without a reservation and everyone has fun. Its not overdone and frantic like a lot of other places. Well staffed and kept clean, but it can get kinda pricey quick. Also a great place for company outings or kids birthday parties.
Great location. However food quality standard very poor!!! Ordered trio platter got steak & shrimp dish. Finally got platter but chicken was like cardboard and bacon wrapped shrimp was missing! Manager on duty didnt seem to care about service and quality had to wait over 30 minutes for him to come over to our table to make it right. Not a great experience at all unlike the excellant experience weve had at the San Diego location!!
Honestly was really looking forward to going to Dave and busters for the first time but was completely disappointed. Food was way to salty and they didn’t get one order right. Waited half and hour for the last plate to get their. Paid for unlimited cards but was given 34 points. Waiters were friendly game selection is good but won’t be returning due to so much confusion on our food orders and the quality of the food as well as the confusion of the “unlimited” card.
I love this place. Even if the food is hella greasy and the drinks can sometimes add up, the game cards are a pretty sound investment. I mean really, if youre gonna spend at least two hours here, youre gonna be playing a lot of games therefore should stock up on the credits. What I enjoy about both these locations, Carlsbad Mall and Mission Valley, there are differences in the lay out and games. For example, Mission Valley has the giant Rock em Sock em robots and two bars. So it is definitely worth checking both the locations out.The Mission valley location is also the spot where the Show cast from San Diegos Rock 105.3 hosts most events. In case you enjoy the morning radio show as much as I do.
This is the first time I have ever felt like I truly needed to leave a review. So on Nov 22 2019 we had a fairly large party visit David and Busters in Carlsbad Ca. We were seated very promptly which was about the only thing that was pleasant about that experience. The waitress took our drink orders first and I had ordered a regular Ice Tea non alcoholic. Yet for some reason it took 20mins to get my drink even though all other alcoholic drinks were served in a reasonable amount of time. Also some of the guest were even able to put in a second drink order while I had not even received my first. The waitress only noticed I didn’t have a drink when I had to say something and had already moved onto our dinner orders. By this time I was a little frustrated. Once she brought my $3.95 Ice Tea I placed my order for what I hoped would be a redeeming dinner entire the steak and shrimp with a lobster sauce over linguine. But yet again I was left disappointed and frustrated she finished taking all dinner orders and left the table at 8:05pm. The entires came to our table in the order in which we had ordered for the most part and can you guess what happened next I was skipped and continue to be patient and wait. I didn’t really start to get upset until as I waited still hungry she started to hand out the checks and most all the people in my party had finished their food. Yet here I set hungry I would even dare to say very hungry. At 9:05pm I had had enough and informed the waitress that due to the poor service I had lost my appetite and patience. Did she ask are you sure or try to make things right................ No she didn’t she went upon her day as if I was an inconvenience for her. I would have to say even after all that. I still got stuck with a bill of $3.95 for the singular Ice Tea. The service was piss poor and would highly discourage anyone from visiting that establishment. Thank you David and Busters for the piss poor service as experience. You all really know how to make a person feel welcomed and take care of.
A cool place for arcade games and even drinks for adult fun. Pretty expensive, and if you win any tickets for prizes, the prizes are really pricey. But this is definitely a great place to have date night or a birthday party, Ive even been to a corporate party here before. All in all a very fun atmosphere, a Good place for a weekend adventure.
I recently hosted a going away event at D&B for a colleague, and it was exceptional. From booking to the dining and gaming experience, everything was great. The food here is decent. Nothing super special, but you can get your typical American fare / bar food here. The redeeming thing is the draft craft beer selection, which is decent and included some good local brews. Hopefully D&B continues to expand the beer menu. The best part of the entire experience was the staff! I can emphasize how awesome they all were:For booking, Jordyn Szwargulski scheduled my room and worked as the event coordinator prior to our arrival. She was extremely professional and knowledgeable. She explained all costs up front, and answered all of my questions promptly and with expert precision. One of the senior managers, Jarred Roberts, greeted myself and others in my party upon arrival. He made every attempt to ensure we were taken care of. He made me (and my party) feel extremely welcomed. He made sure the tables were set, water was available, and the TV and music were tuned to our liking. He also answered all questions we had about cost, and the best way to take advantage of some of the promotions D&B had going for game/food combos. All these things added up to an incredible experience. He took the time to check in with me multiple times during the night, showing he didnt just welcome us and move on to other things. His dedication and professional attitude are, in my opinion, uncommon in todays service industry, and people like him are the primary reason customers will return here. Our two servers Brooke and Valerie were also amazing. Their attitudes were warm and inviting, and they did an amazing job tending to over 30 people, which is no small feat. Their combined efforts kept food and drinks coming at a pace that would have been difficult to maintain for twice that many servers. They worked extremely hard to ensure every single person in the party was satisfied, and handled everything from food and drinks, to getting power cards for us. When the checks came, they were organized, and everything went smooth.Hands down, the staff was the best part of the experience.
Today we were trying to experience a great going away time for a buddy but didnt get the service we expected. We got served after 3 tables that got seated after us. And by the time we were signing our checks... the other tables already left and the tables were cleaned. I told (Im sorry if I butcher this) a miss Brandy?, the Manager. She was nice enough to compensate us with free game tokens and apologize. Which is why this is getting 3 stars instead of 0 or 1. Please talk with your staff tonight and let them know the larger parties shouldnt be served first if they were called last. And to be upfront and open to their mistakes, to be willing to say, how can I fix this? To their customers or even get you involved if it was just too busy and they couldnt handle it sooner. Thanks.
Our waitress was rude. Told one of the people in our table to shush and wait, got mad at another person because she took too long to get his drink so he went to the bar and she threatened to call the manager as if he did something wrong, then called me a liar when I told her she never ran my card. Said that I never gave her my card. The worst service Ive had. Everyone else that actually brought out the food from the kitchen was good. They brought us our fountain drinks faster then she did. Next time we will eat somewhere else and only play the games.
This place will bring out the inner child in you. There is lots of games to play and they constantly change games and add new ones. Our favorite is the Mario cart. They also serve alcohol and food which always hits the spot. Distract your self for a bit and have fun here. You wont be disappointed.
First time bringing the kids to Dave and busters. Normally go to Chuck E. Cheese but figured I would give the a try. I go in and see on the sign I can get 150 chips for $40. I said I’ll take 150 chips please. Cashier says they’re digital and have to go on a card. I said fine, just split it on 2 cards for my kids. She says she can’t do that. I was confused and asked for the manager. He comes up with a smug look on his face and asks me “are you serious “? Apparently he heard my question and had already predetermined his answer without asking how he could help. I reiterated to him the question as he said that he was confused. He then tells me again these are digital chips and now he says they cannot be split on 2 cards for my kids and that I would have to pay 15% more to get them split. I said the sign was false advertising and it didn’t say anything like that. He told me it was the online! Apparently this uneducated, worthless manager didn’t know the laws about false advertising in the state of California and that any such restrictions must be clearly posted and that putting it on a website is insufficient notice! He then says I can call corporate and hands me a card. I said great are they open? to which he said no. I tore his worthless card and gave it back to him and left. He shouted some rude comments to me as I left. I was with my kids and didn’t want to start something, so just left. Guess what, I’ll NEVER go to another Dave and busters. I went around the corner to Chuck E. Cheese and purchased 200 chips for $35 which they kindly put on 2 cards for my kids. Dave and busters is way overpriced, sub par food and rude managers. Hope this location goes out of business quick so they can put something else in the mall.
Stopped by this location after I watched a few movies in the theatre up stairs. Some of the games were enteretaining but for the most part I thought that it was more for younger kids than an adult based arcade. still fun but a bit to pricy. I still have yet to try the food.
Games are fun but they changed their system where you cant use one card for a couple games at a time. So my husband and son couldnt play games next to each other. The card makes you wait a couple minutes.Food is not good and portion size on some dishes are super small.
Well, lets start off with the one good thing I have to say about this place. Its cleaner than the San Diego location...for now. I was a fan of Dave and Busters years ago, but these days it just doesnt seem to live up to any expectation of mine. Today was my first time at the Carlsbad location and I will try to keep my experience short for you...The restaurant - We walked in and were immediately seated in the restaurant. The server took approximately 10 minutes to reach our table the first time. We ordered a round of drinks and my friends ordered an appetizer; both of which took approximately 23 minutes to receive. I am not sure I saw the waiter for at least another 15 minutes after receiving those items and I was getting quite hungry; I was certainly ready to order. After finally placing my order we sat for approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes to receive our COLD food. I felt really bad for my friend who ordered a pull pork sandwich with mac and cheese and he received a mac and cheese sandwich with a slab of meat on it; not shredded that is. Oh, and mind you - cold as well. Then there was the waiter...The waiter himself had seemed to have no customer interactive skills or manners of any sort. Instead of asking for things such as a dirty plate he would demand. Now the gaming floor - I found that most of the games I wanted to play seemed to be broken in some way. The rewards shops is an absolute joke. There is really nothing in their for adults of interest and the prices are just absolutely insane. An item that would cost you $60 bucks somewhere would cost you over $300 at DBs.The bar - The beer selection is okay. Nothing to brag about. I found one dark beer that I could enjoy however it was bottled. I spent 15 minutes standing at the counter because the computer system failed though. That was fun...All in all I really have no interest in ever returning here. There is nothing that makes me want to come back and I would not recommend it to any of my friends.
It will be a long time before I step inside a Dave and Busters if I ever do at all. Our nachos were burnt, and my daughters grilled cheese tasted like a hamburger. We needed to track down the server for drink refills, ketchup, napkins, to go boxes and it was always other staff that filled her role, yet she was quick to find us when we went to play games and hadnt paid the bill. Update 2 hrs later, we may be heading to urgent care since my wife has been displaying signs of food poisoning.
We were with a group of about 15 people. Ordered the Thai chicken salad while people were ordering drinks because I couldnt stay long. Well after 25 minutes they finally brought me my salad... Only it had no chicken on it. So they took it back to put chicken on it. About 20 minutes after taking my salad back everyone else got their food... I sat and waited another 15 minutes after that and finally our waited came back and I asked him where my salad was.. He then said he would go check and still didnt bring me my salad for another 10 minutes! From when I ordered my salad until when I actually got to eat it was almost an hour! It was not crowded... There was no excuse for a salad taking that long. To top it all off they offered no compensation to make this right as almost everyone was done eating and I basically had to take my salad to go since I couldnt stay for the rest of the birthday party. I should also add that it took a while for them to bring us to go packages too! I will probably never come back here unless I absolutely have to for another party. I will also try to make sure none of my friends EVER use this place for their parties.
The food and drinks were great, but the service is very slow. It took them 45 minutes to bring out food and it wasnt even crowded. Not to mention, it took 15 minutes after we ordered drinks just to receive them. I will go to Dave and Busters to play the games, but not to eat again. Too slow.
The food was good, my son loved his gummi worm slushy, and it was a lot of fun! The only reason I didnt give the final star was bc of the wait once we were seated. Do you know how hard it is to keep the good mood going at a place like this? After we sat, we waited about 20mins until our waitress came to our table. Then another 10 until we got our drinks. I would understand if it was busy, but it was not. Also, she charged us incorrectly for our play credits n what not, as I it ended up costing more than it shouldve. But over all, in the end, my family and myself enjoyed our time here... Just wasnt planning on waiting as long and paying as much as we did.
For a chain place I actually enjoy coming here. Sometimes you need a night to unwind, have a few beers and just have fun playing some games. Plenty of games to pick from that can pass the time. Only negative I would say is the price to play. Unlike typical arcade places, it can be costly to re-charge your cards to play when the games average about 7 tokens to play.
4:00pm on a Saturday, the place is DEAD.Waited 30 minutes at the bar to be served, finally a waitress with blue dreads took our order (food and drink) finally the wait is over we thought! She gave us our bill, we paid.... Then the waitress told us that we could not sit at the bar due to our kid sitting with us and by the way I didnt put your food in because I dont want to have to bring it to the table. Now I completely understand that kids cant be at the bar, but there were 2 other kids in sperate parties eating l next to is. So we were instructed to reorder our food with a waiter outside of the bar (still havent seen one). Conveniently she didnt tell us this until after charging us so we have to get 2 Bills and wait again. So its currently been 45 minutes, still waiting to order food.... wish us luck!Edit: Silverware is dirty but at least the food came out 😢 Next time Im driving to mission valley, this place is awful .
Great place to hang out with friends and family, although there servers in the dinning area are slow, unfriendly and rude. I went to have dinner and I was told to seat myself. I must have sat there for at least 15 to 20 minutes without anyone asking my if I wanted a drink or even both to give me a menu. When someone finally came around the server was rude, had this attitude when I asked for a menu. And it took another 10 minutes to get my drink after ordering it. The bar is three steps from the dinning area. I got up to leave and as I was leaving the server was sitting on the other side of the bar BSing with some other people.
Dont go to Dave & Busters in Carlsbad. Tonight I went there with my husband & kids for my 43rd birthday. We spent $80 on game cards for the kids, then ate dinner in the dining room which came to over $100. Bryan & I each had 2 beers with dinner. After we paid our tab, we went into game room to play games with the boys. We went up to get another beer and they wouldnt serve me because my ID will expire at midnight( it was 7pm). I showed them my renewal I spent 5 hours at the DMV getting today. They still wouldnt serve me & said the dining room shouldnt have either. I explained I was 43 ( not 20 something) and here to celebrate with my family. The manager was extremely rude even though it was my birthday and wed already dropped $200. It was the worst experience Ive ever had in a restaurant and completely humiliating. Happy Birthday to me!!! Please celebrate elsewhere with your family.

2022-06-05Do you want to have fun? David & Busters is a good place to go with family and friends to drink, eat and watch a good game of the NFL, soccer or baseball. You want to have a party.? They also have private room...

2022-03-13I am very irritated on my overall experience here, after multiple times coming to this location..this has never happened. My Boyfriend (17) and I (17) walked up to purchase game cards. The lady at the front was very nice and polite…sold us game cards with no problems. After buying our game cards we ask a host to be seated….these two very rude host women ignored everything we said and interrupted me to say “are both of you 18??” I figured we were just in a special bar section and needed to be seated elsewhere. so I responded “no, we would just like to sit and eat some food” they disregarded everything we said and told us to leave because we were not accompanied by an adult 25 years or older. (which is understandable for policy, a dumb policy but understandable) but why were we not made aware of this while spending money at the front desk?? and why do these hosts feel the need to address a customer that way. We proceeded to ask why, and where we could get a refund. These two ladies ignored everything we said and took straight to the security guard to address us. They told us no refunds and basically kicked us out. “Come back with someone 25 or older” this was something we should have been aware of before spending money..and your staff needs a real attitude adjustment! Why would I want to come back?

2022-02-02My husband and I brought our kids over the weekend and we were amazed by all the great and helpful employees they have. I bought the 4 player pack of $60 dollars each with the front desk lady Aaliyah and she was AMAZING. She was very helpful, walked me through the different prices they have and gave me a great run down on everything they had here. She told me to let her know if I had any questions with anything after we finished the transaction. My server Danica was also great and super nice. The food was delicious! I got the Steak salad and it was tasty and filling. Both Aaliyah and Danica made my Dave & Busters experience wonderful. My family and I will be coming back for sure.

2021-09-07Absolutely love this location because its not crowded except weekends. Games here are mostly updated. Not a huge fan of their food selection but the drinks are awesome. Caribbean drink is my Go to each time I come to Dave and Busters. The bartenders are very kind considering how busy they get. I noticed how nice they are to large group of customers.

2022-05-08Went with a big party on a Friday night. We were able to get a table to eat almost right away. Got the mushroom stout burger: good, but pretty messy to eat. I asked James at the bar for something with ginger beer and he made me a delicious mule (I dont know what kind). Had a great time with good friends. We were able to watch the fights from the special events room where we enjoyed drinks and appetizers. I know its supposed to be this way, but it was really loud. I couldnt really hear much of the conversation going on around me. Other than that, fun venue for big parties.

2022-02-26My sister called to make a reservation asked them if they have vegan options and they said yes. Coming to the restaurant I ask for the allergen menu and come to see they have no vegan options. Online does say that Dave & Busters has the Light life burger, but they dont have one on the menu.

2022-01-02We love coming here! We always have a great experience, even if they have messed up on our order for food they are friendly and quick to fix it. We love taking our whole family to D&B. Just be prepared to pay $150-$250 on food and drinks alone if you go with the family and $80-$150 if youre there on a date (depending on how many drinks you get😉 and if you get an appetizer) and then about $100 on chips. So super fun but its more of a special occasion thing for us and our family of 5.

2022-02-27Im a regular here the service is great the people are nice. The game techs are actually helpful and the food is pretty good if give it a five star rating but i cant in good conscience for one reason. In left my credit card one night i go back the very next day and ask for it. They check their book where they place lost cards and yes my name is in the book but one problem my card is not. The book is filled with names and cards but my card is not in it. Hope is my name in it but my card not....i froze my card and got a new one
