We were so happy with having our wedding ceremony here. It is a short walk away from La Jolla Womans Club which was our reception venue. The only tricky thing is it can be quite windy so if you want to wear a veil be aware you may not be able to. I made the decision an hour before my ceremony to not wear mine.Photo credit: Mazelma Photography
Quite an amazing view when you arrive here. There are seals, and the entire area is swimmer and surfer friendly! Many waves to catch, however, some spots will be surrounded by water as the day goes on, as the tide will get higher, but itβs not entirely the parks fault. During the day, there are many places to go to get food and other items. An amazing tourist area to check out. During the day, I would recommend that you put on sunscreen, as the sun can and will give you a sunburn. Thatβs it!
Cuvier Park is the most beautiful and peaceful small park in La Jolla. It has an stunning view, sunset is incredible amazing even in a cloudy day.Parking is hard but usually people are in and out. Is perfect for a picnic. If you are in San Diego contact @piqueniqueeevents (instagram) for any celebration.
So amazing! We sat on some rocks and the seals kept coming too close to us so we had to wait until they were all situated and no longer moving before we climbed over the rocks to get away from them. The water was super clear and the beach was pretty clean. Lots of people and some one was flying a drone over the seals on the sand which was a little annoying! Overall a great experience that well be back to do again soon.
A really nice area! Absolutely incredible views from here and all around the coast area. Being able to be near the seals and view the wildlife in the area is so nice. The cliffs and cove area are beautiful and a nice sight to see. There is lots of space and lots of parkingβ
I honestly love this place!! Sit on the bench and take in the astonishing viewβ₯οΈ The sky and the palm trees and the soft sound of the waves collaborate into a wonderful euphonyπ I hust wish i could live inside the seaside houses one day!>< Strongly recommend this place for healingπ§Έπ
Beautiful park with nice grassy areas to sit and enjoy the view. Down the beach you can find the Childrens Pool which has Sea Lions swimming about. Theres a couple of areas where you can walk down to the sand and take a dip if you feel like, but I wouldnt recommend going down there in the evening when the tide comes in. The waves can get very violent.
I cannot think of an ugly beach in La Jolla or most of SoCal. This one is also very beautiful with great photo spots as well as the default beautiful scenery. Lots of weddings happen here at the βWedding Bowlβ. I especially enjoy the different colors of the ocean that is visible from this corner.
This park is a San Diego owned site. It is located on coast boulevard on a grassy Mesa which lies over ocean. The ocean waves are picturesque as they crash onto the sandstoneCliffs..this site is an important wedding venue. I have seen weddings every day of the week. Come here and picnic!
Fabulous views and a great place for a family picnic, bring your own grill. My grandkids giggled the whole time and I spent quality time with the ones I love, couldnt have asked for anything more!On our way home he stopped a baskin robbins (31 flavors)for a rainbow cone
This is a cute little part of La Jolla Shores on the cliffs filled with grass and people have all sorts of small boutique businesses serving visitors where they can get married and have catered small romantic picnics. Its fun to walk by and see the happy people getting married and its a beautiful area, in general. With restaurants and everything you need. Look for parking a little farther away but often there are spots right there. Have a great day. Right on the beautiful coast water.
Great spot to picnic and just enjoy the view. I dislike that the restroom is so far down tho, thats the only thing. I havent gone tidepooling, but will definitely try it when I go back. It gets pretty busy during the weekend, so hustling for parking can be hard. Go early if you want a good spot to sit on.
One of the BEST places in the county to watch a sunset. Great for people watching, too. Good mix of locals & tourists, most are quite friendly. Parking can get a bit dicey but not too bad if youre ok with walking a few blocks. Early mornings & late afternoons are least crowded. Lots of businesses within walking distance for all your culinary desires. Everything from junk food thru fine dining. Even the low end places are quite good, cant usually afford the fine dining.
This is a really great beach spot that has a variety of interesting rocks, live seals, and small beach areas versus one huge long beach. this little cutouts with just rock, it makes you feel like youre in a little paradise versus an over commercialized Beach period parking is still really tough though so it would be best to try coming at non-prime hours. The views offer variety as well and definitely would love to visit again.
Its a nice length of a park. Just not a true park to me since there are no swings or slides.People are there doing yoga & stretching, exercising. Close to the seals & sea lions! Now there are ice cream truck ppl there as well which is great.Very popular place so parking can get difficult
Nice clean quiet park with beautiful views of the ocean. A great place to relax and meditate and enjoy the views. Best to arrive 30 minutes before sunset as parking gets limited during the times right before the sunset. Great place to work remotely if you have mobile access. Nice place to walk your dog on the coastline.
Very nice and easy to take a little stroll on your way south to the city away from the noise and craziness. Surprisingly clean and easy to park at with it being so popular and slightly busy.Looks like a fantastic place to be at low tide to explore more on the beach, but also slightly dangerous if you dont research where the water level will be when youre down there.Looking forward to bringing more visitors back!
It is beautiful there. We walked in the pier and beaches. The pier can be very wet, so pay attention to the tides. The seals are fun to see.It is a popular park and many visitors and venders. It is very difficult to find a parking spot. You can easily find both free and paid parkings if you do not mind walk some distance.
Great day! So many sealions. People were getting to close to them. They had to announce 3 times over the speaker system to move away. Their were a couple pregnant. There is no way you can tell there Is a pandemic going on, it was so busy. 20 Minutes to find parking. But it was worth it.
Very cool geology!! Its an amazing art-scape of sandstone carved in soft and hard edges with rows of harder rock inbetween thats been smoothed over by countless waves. The seals laying around in the noon day sun give it a nice feeling of siesta time as well. Great place!
Fantastic little park right next to the tide pools. The hike down to the water has stairs and a handrail. Parking can be difficult at times, but that is the nature of the beach. Great place to watch a sunset. Grass is usually short and great for picnics and a small game of football or catch with little kids. Its about a half of a mile away from the cove of sea lions, bathrooms, and beach showers.
If I lived nearby, Id be here all the time. The sound of the waves is soothing enough on its own, but its also absolutely gorgeous. The color of the water is unbelievable...something we New Englanders think exists only in fiction. It looked like a great spot for surfing, though I wasnt as brave or wetsuit-equipped as those who were enjoying that here. Overall, a great place to spend a few spare hours! (And it smelled much less fishy here than a mile or two north...in case that makes a difference to you, as it definitely did to me!)
Went to my friends wedding at this place. I had no idea what it was called. But the wedding was particularly lovely. This is one of the very nice things about San Diego, and Los Angeles, and pretty much all of California: you could get married on the beach without spending every penny you have to do it. Hooray for us! ππ
Gorgeous park situated along coast walk and in a grassy, lowered place. People will be walking by above the park along the coast walk. Sometimes they will stop to look a wedding happening. Itβs a great spot for a wedding, general photo taking, a picnic, or even a nap. The view is stunning , and the sound of the ocean is so peaceful. Enjoy.*****
Made a reservation for November event. Anne Marie was very helpful and accommodating. The desk staff are always welcoming, the free hot and iced coffee bar is wonderful, and they even have fruit at the desk for the taking. The bridal suite is beautiful, and the hotel is cute and cozy. I highly recommend this hotel.
Our family loves this place and we come every chance we get either for a walk or simply to sit on the grass and enjoy the vast open view of the ocean and shore. Im probably somewhat biased as our wedding took place here but this view is so recharging that a half hour here can clear a week of stress at work.Simply magical!
Went here for a wedding. Very nice view. It was on a sunday, so parking was a nightmare. Ended up 1/2-3/4 of a mile away. Make sure to get there early to give time for parking and walking. There were a few guests who missed it cause they didnt get there early enough
This location easily has one of the better Beach accesses in the La Jolla area. It is very adjacent to the Childrens Pool area, so parking is going to be very limited. Plan on making alternate transportation arrangements, especially if you are attending an event. This park has one of the few large grassy areas available for rental in the area, so events seem to be quite popular in this spot. And with the views, its easy to see why.
This beach front area is postcard perfect! Picnic with the family on the grass. Scramble down the cliff and play in the shore-break. Grab a bench and just sit and watch the seals and boats go by. Only bummer is that parking is limited so go on off peak hours (weekdays and early morning weekends).
A great place to walk.your dog in the AM or just walk...great for photos..and then there is the Wedding Bowl. This is a beautiful.place on.the lower level.that lots of people get marriage...all year but many more in the warmer months...just ask any body where it is ..Saturdays are a great day around 5PM..but really any day this time honored tradition goes merrily on..great fun..but be respectful. Its somebodys BIGday!
Cuvier Park is a great location to come visit. My favorite part about the park is the tide pools. Come to the park at low tide (varies day to day) and explore! There are plenty of different animals to be found -- sea slugs, sculpin, Garibaldi (Californias state fish -- theyre big and orange), various seashells, crabs, etc. Occasionally a sea lion will swim by, and gulls are constantly around looking to steal food. If youre lucky, you might see something less common in the tide pools like an octopus, starfish, or even a moray eel!
Great view of the waves and the lush flora makes it perfect for taking pictures. Parking is a pain, so you spend a lot of time looking out for cars pulling out of parking spaces on the street. Residents may have signs redirecting traffic to find parking away from the park or La Jolla cove.

2022-07-02Amazing view of Pacific Ocean and also great for pictures. The only issue can be finding parking especially during the summer months. You can enjoy the Sun up on top or find the paths down to the water. Also a Great place to go Enjoy the Sunset during the evening.

2022-04-12Great park. Beautiful views. Great place to walk along the water past the seals/sea lions to the coastal trail. You can also find an amazing outdoor yoga class ($10 at 9:00 am class with Corie Anna) you can find the class on meet up. Even ends with sound bowls. Highly recommend!

2021-09-19Very pretty, and scenic! Parking hard to find, but once you do you could spend an hour or two taking pictures, looking for little sea creatures, looking at seals and having a great time walking around

2022-03-14This area is so gorgeous. We love coming when the tide is low enough for tide pooling. The area is easy enough to trek for your little ones too.

2021-10-10Went for the tide pools on an Airbnb Experience lead by ex Biology Teacher Matt. Had a great time! Didnt see as diverse a level of life as we hoped, but knew it is random and different every time. It was busy when we arrived at 5pm on a Saturday but we lucked out with a good parking spot. Lots of tourists and locals alike. Would go again and next time well head up to the childrens pool to see the seals before they get them outta there!

2022-05-31Very beautiful views. I had a good time here, had a really nice hike as well. Even on Memorial Day, there was still plenty of parking. Unlike Many other beaches in the area. I definitely recommend taking some time to go enjoy the views and the sounds of the waves.
