Nice little inn close to everything...walking close. Staff is very friendly and bed was comfortable.Just be aware that the walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING - from your neighbor snoring to other sounds that should be private.
This was such a cute little place to stay on Coronado! Their free bike rentals were awesome and my mom and I used them so much! The rooms were clean, the whole place was well managed, and the prices were reasonable.
This was a really nice place to stay at. Its not super fancy or anything but its very personable. There are some elderly people who like to stay here so if you have kids you might get a complaint if they are load after 7pm even though the pool doesnt close till 10pm. Other than that it was a great place.
My husband and I have stayed here twice, both times we have received exceptional customer service and fair prices. The people working behind the desk are very nice and welcoming. The first time we stayed we arrived with a dog and they gave us a goodie bag for our fur baby with treats and poop bags which we weren’t expecting. We were super happy to find a dog friendly place that was so welcoming. The rooms are very cozy and nicely up kept and clean definitely worth what we paid. When we asked about late check out they offered to let us stay till one and then called us in our room and offered to let us stay till three since no one else had booked the room for that night. Over all I would 100% recommended this hotel wether you have dogs or not. My husband and I will definitely be returning.
My mom and I had a great overnight stay at Crown City Inn. The property is very lovely and peaceful, and the room was clean and felt nice and cozy. Since free parking and use of their bicycles are included in the price of the room, its probably one of the best deals youre going to find! Excellent location within walking distance to many restaurants, shopping, and the beach. Customer service was outstanding and they went above and beyond to accommodate us in every way. Breakfast at the Bistro was delicious! We look forward to staying here next time were in Coronado!
At first glance the property is beautiful, small and peaceful. We were greeted by a very friendly woman at the front desk. The little courtyard is gorgeous. The room is quaint and adorable. The room was very clean upon entering and provided all the vacation essentials: fridge, coffee pot, hair dryer, etc. The bistro next door has a wonderful, friendly staff with delicious food and excellent service.

We had a great time celebrating my husbands birthday in Coronado! The Crown City Inn is a gem! Our room was very clean and comfortable, the bathroom was tastefully remodeled. We had a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. The Crown City Bistro serves delicious food in a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere at reasonable prices. The housekeeping staff kept the place immaculate and the office staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the complimentary cookies and coffee every afternoon. We especially enjoyed riding the beach cruisers provided by the Hotel free of charge. Every bicycle has a basket and a lock. We rode around the island many times and took the bikes on the ferry into San Diego. The location of the hotel is terrific, you can walk to the beach, restaurants, coffee houses and grocery stores. We are already planning a return trip!
Lovely place. We stayed 3 days for our anniversary on Memorial weekend with our 3 year old and everything was excellent. Clean, safe and very accommodating. We love Coronado and this cozy place delivered. It was our home base as we did excursions to Coronado beach, Balboa park museums, and Hornblower brunch cruises. Its was such a great weekend. Would definitely reccomend this spot. A+. Housekeeping was prompt and courteous and even decorated our 3 year olds travel cot with her toys and bedding. Great job ladies. The lady at the front desk even provided a gift bag of goodies for our toddler. Great experience! Well be back most definitely. The bistro closed early during our stay but Ive heard great things. Well be sure to try it next time. Overall...super satisfied!

These guys have got it together. The rooms are large and quiet, safe, clean and comfortable. The beach and San Diego bay are a short walk away. Its a lovely location. The employees are happy, fantastic folks. There are beach chairs and bicycles you can borrow. If San Diego is your destination, THIS IS THE PLACE. You wont be disappointed.
Room is nice. Walls a bit thin. Has a fridge, microwave and I room coffee. Also the lobby has water, coffee and homemade cookies. Parking is free but limited although street parking is readily available. Good location and very clean!
Loved location between bay and ocean walk to both, they have beach chairs and bikes you can use. Coffee is from local roaster and delicious. It always seemed like there wouldnt be enough parking but we got a space every time. Room was comfy and quiet.
I was disappointed by the quality of the room. We felt a smell of cleaning solutions in the room so we had to keep the windows open for a while after arriving.The receptionist were not very friendly and didnt inform us about the facilities. There are not enough parking lots in the parking so the second night we arrived and were blocked with no room for the car and had to ask for assistance and we were directed to the back yard parking. Other night there was no free space in the parking in the back and I went to the receptionist who was chatting with someone, checking pictures on her phone and did not show much attention to me. When asked about the parking she said I have to find some free space on the street. They dont explain clearly, from the check in, what you should expect.The walls of the room are so thin that I could hear from the bathroom that someone was shaving in the other bath. Also from the room I could hear the entire conversation happening in the bed from the neighbour room. It was not pleasant at all and didnt expected this for the price we paid.I dont really recommend this place as, for a tourist, coming for leisure, its not very nice stay. Maybe for business trips this hotel could be a good choice.
I love this hotel. The decor is very well-thought-out and has a modern feel. They pay attention detail with nice shampoo and lotion, cookies in the Lobby and fun bikes to take for free. We will definitely be coming back

Pleasantly surprised. Very clean large rooms in this small Motel on Coronado Island. Breakfast opens a little late. Coffee in the room, fridge and microwave also. Affordable. Really nice and helpful staff. Have bikes and boogie boards for guests. Will stay there again for sure.
Cozy room with a nice walk in shower. It had nice amenities and nice temperature control. The bed was comfortable and they provided really good cookies in the afternoon. Small pool with no jacuzzi. They provided free bike rentals and have a semi nice restaurant next door. Pretty close to the stores and shops. Would recommend.
Absolutely incredible! We were weary from the road and it was so nice to arrive here! We were greeted so kindly and friendly at check in which was late at night. The girl at the desk explained where everything was and was so gracious. They have boogie boards, bikes, umbrellas and beach chairs that are complimentary! Coffee and nice air conditioning! We love it!!!!
Stayed here with my sister for a few days. Everything was better than expected.I had found this place because it was within our price range. (Ie. Cheaper than quite a few other places.) Pleasantly surprised by how updated the bathroom was.Plenty of parking in the alley behind.The front desk clerk was very friendly.Was able to walk to each side of the island with no issue.Overall, I would definitely stay there again.
Love the service I have gotten while staying here. Beds are comfy, some rooms have great jacuzzi bath tubs while others have showers with multiple heads. You can rent bikes to check out the sights on Coronado island. The staff is pure gold!
My husband and I love this place! We were here on vacation in 2011 we spent 12 days here and in 2017 we took a spur-of-the-moment vacation so we didnt get a chance to book ahead of time but we did get to spend one night there!! We will definitely be back its a great place to stay, very friendly, very clean and close to the beach in Coronado!!! Here are a few pictures I took in 2017. Best hotel i have ever stayed at. has the old fashioned feel snd style. while the wifi did not work for me (not a big issue). the thing i loved the most is this. i was originally going to bring my 2 dogs with me. at the last minute i found a good babysitter but forgot to inform Crown City Inn. we check into our room and there is a dog bowl on a mat for my babies food and water. this was the most thoughtful thing i have ever seen. i have traveled with my babies many times and no hotel ever did this. highly recommend this hotel.
Beautiful location just blocks from the beach. Close to a grocery and drug store. Highly recommend the bistro attached for breakfast. Very nice cleaning staff. They always ask if we need our room clean. Heated pool
The location is very nice and the decorations were beautiful. We had a larger party (9 people) and waited over an hour to be seated. The food took a while to be served, but they were very busy. The waitress was very nice.
4th of July was our fourth time staying at Crown City Inn and it is hard to go anywhere else. The hotel staff is so nice, the location being close to the park is great for kids and special events, the free bikes are a huge plus as is the free parking. The hotel restaurant is very popular and the lobby puts out the most delicious free cookies each afternoon. With all this at a great price the value is to good to pass up. Cant wait for our next visit.

We loved the Crown City Inn! My husband and I went out of town with some family from Vegas that we were visiting, and this location was very accommodating. Great location, very clean, and plenty of toys for adults and kiddos (bikes, boogie boards, pool, etc). Nice walk to restaurants, shops, and beach. I would love to stay here again!
Its a quaint renovated hotel. Rooms are small, but comfortable. Great location for bike rides to the ferry shipping area and the silver strand nature preserve.
Beds were comfy and staff was very friendly. Located within walking distance to many island features. Kids loved the pool and being able to take wakeboards to the beach that the inn provided.
This hotel was everything I wanted it to be! It was small beautiful and very comfortable! I stayed for 3 nights in the king room and it was great! It was a nice walk to the beach and the ferry! Will be coming back next time I’m going to San Diego/Coronado!
We discovered the Crown City Inn while walking. Although the No Vacancy sign eas up on the entry door, we thought wed check on future availability. We were surprised to find they had rooms available the next night and several days in the future. After being shown one of the rooms by the helpful staff, we booked a room for 3 nights. The room was clean, tidy and moderately decorated. The bath had everything we needed. The huge glass shower looked recently added, but fit nicely into the decor. The air conditioning worked well, as did the flat screen TV and wifi. No signal issues. The ice machine was in the laundry room with 2 coin-op washers & 2 dryers. (The washers & dryers are shared with housekeeping for towels & sheets, however the staff person doing the laundry was helping in unloading washers and/or dryers to make room for our laundry items as needed. $0.75 per washer and per dryer. Soap available at front desk for $0.50/box. Washer & dryer run for 45 minutes each.) A small, pleasant salt water pool is nice for a dip or sunning. Next to the Inn is the Crown City Bistro for bkfst, lunch & dinner. Breakfast is very popular & lines form for the special plates. Attentive and friendly staff make this a great place to eat, or just have coffee & people watch on the outside patio. We will be back for both the Inn and Bistro!
Stayed 4 nights. We absolutely loved staying at Crown City Inn. We plan to make a repeat visit to Coronado Island and would definitely stay here again. All the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The rooms were very nice and clean. The Bistro is a must!!
Family of seven had a GREAT stay in two rooms. This is a high value stay. We wanted to be on Coronado and spent two days on Coronado Island and a day in San Diego. They had bicycles you could borrow, were within walking distance of the places we were interested in going, including the park down the street, and the rooms were clean. Our room had a spa tub with powerful jets that made relaxing easy. I have stayed in San Diego hotels over 50 times and most are forgettable. The Crown City Inn, with their excellent customer service, value, and quirky charm stands out in our familys memery.
Just a plain little motor inn, dead-center of Coronado. Good beds, great shower. Access to a very nice gym up the street. 50 restaurants within easy walking distance and the top breakfast place in Coronado on-premises. Best beach in CA a very pleasant 15 minute walk. Ferry to San Diego nearby. Fantastic location. Price/location/service cant be beat. This place has character. Im a regular business traveler and stay here instead of the many nicer but generic options in San Diego.
Cool small enclosed 2 story bungalow cottage feel with interior courtyard parking. Small patio restaurant, pool, close to Silver Strand and a nice park across the street. Decent room prices.

Ate bunch here. Our group of five was seated within an hour in a rainy day (outside seating was closed). Service was great with plenty of coffee. Food: Churro Banana waffle was delicious - unique and not overly sweet. Huevos Rancheros was good - slightly spicy but not exactly memorable. If on Coronado and looking for brunch would return.

Clean rooms, good TV, lovely bathroom, EXTREMELY friendly staff, tennis courts with rackets provided just a great place to stay for relaxing.Negatives are that its a good trek into SD city (about 30 mins on bus) and the pool is alway in the shade but Id throughly recommend

Im reluctant to give Crown City 5☆ for I want this hidden gem to remain hidden. Not only is the inn quaint & clean with an ideal location...the staff is REMARKABLE! Really! Quaint little inn located with nicely appointed rooms, a bistro on property, a small pool, and complimentary gym passes to CGC, all within walking distance of sites in Coronado.
This is a very quaint hotel that is located just a few minutes walk or bike (they have bicycle you can check out for free) to the beach, the hotel Del, various shops and restaurants. They have an array of succulents and plants.
The breakfasts were excellent. The service was great. And the ambiance was comfortable, clean and unique. The visit was well worth the time and the money.

Crown City Bistro is by far the best breakfast restaurant in Coronado and in the top 5 in Sam Diego. The menie has something for everyone, but the Crab Benedict, well, it holds a very special place in my heart!

Hotel located in the 50 yard of Coronado, very well located a few steps from the commercial area. The room is very simple, nothing spectacular but clean and without much noise. The attention of the staff is very good. I couldnt have breakfast there but they highly recommended the eggs benedict.
Very nice hotel with great service! We were received very friendly and could our room even though we arrived too early. The hotel is well located for exploring San Diego. That you can rent bikes for free is great. Restaurants and supermarkets are nearby. The hotel cooperates with a gym in which you can train for free, we liked it and were very warmly welcomed! We would have liked to stay longer :)
Fantastic hotel on Coronado island. Free beach chairs and free bicycles to borrow. Location is perfect for those seeking tranquility but also to explore San Diego. Then use the ferry.

2022-05-25I love this quaint place. They even gave us doggy gift bags and they have the best, most flavorful coffee. The bed was super comfortable and it is extremely clean. It is a 10 min walk to the beach. They have public tennis courts right behind it and there is a park very close by. I would definitely stay here again.

2022-06-22I really can’t say enough about this place! Not one detail is spared. they offer filtered water to fill up your water bottles, a welcome gift, free bike and beach rentals! They make you feel like family! Keith is awesome along with the 2 gals that work there too(didn’t catch their names). The housekeeping staff is so friendly and accommodating. 2022-06-17This is a very cute stay in a great location. Walking distance to everything in Coronado. The bed was very comfy, and I appreciated the filtered water in the lobby. The desk staff were all pleasant and kind. The walls of the rooms are very thin, we could easily hear the conversations of our next door and above neighbors, and the people upstairs walking around. I would look elsewhere if you are trying to sleep in. I wish there was a way to signal that we werent ready for housekeeping, the housekeeping staff was persistent in knocking on our door fairly early in the day, like 9:30 or 10, when we typically werent ready for that until noon or so. Also personal pet peeve: housekeeping should never touch my toothbrush please. Overall good value for the money, especially if you are looking to get up and spend most of your day in Coronado.

2022-02-13This place is a gem. I stayed here due to a work emergency. The day was rough and I needed a place to stay. Called like three places and all they had were smoking rooms. From the first initial phone call the voice in the other side was understanding of the situation since I had to walk there from sharp Coronado hospital. The place gave me a 90’s Melrose place vibe. Rooms were clean and neatly organized. Complementary coffee and brownies were awesome. The little restaurant next to it had awesome food. The salmon dinner was so good and breakfast was delicious. If I ever stay in San Diego I’ll stay here. Y’all who live here are truly living in a paradise destination.

2021-05-18The best place to stay on Coronado Island! We stay here every summer. Easy walk to the beach and either end of the island. Super clean and dog-friendly, the staff is wonderful. Highly recommend the on-site bistro, cant say enough wonderful things about this lovely place, cant wait to stay with them again in a few weeks!

2021-07-12We love this inn! Family friendly and the rooms come with free bike rentals during your stay on Island. We are here because we have a son stationed at NAS North Island we will return after he has gone elsewhere. Love it here!!
