Room was clean and the king bed was pretty comfy for my terrible back. Shower was great, everything was clean and modern, the only thing I wish the room had was a microwave. The TV did stop working but it was 1130 pm and wasnt even worth trying to get it fixed since I was gone in the AM. The two ladies that helped me up front also let me park my truck that was carrying expensive cargo in the front of the doors to keep an eye on it over night. Huge weight of my shoulders. Much thanks.
Place was clean, the beds were comfortable. The rooms have too many smart features. The lights come on when you walk by. Very disturbing when going to toilet at night. The thermostat switches from heat to cool if you turn it down at night. The outside entrance lock sounds like a shot gun when unlocking. No free coffee in the lobby.
Positive: Room was clean Beds were good. Negative: Automatic lights come on when moving around to the toilet. Wakes everyone up. There is no heat setting on thermostat. Switches to cool mode when turning the heat down at night. Very loud bang when opening door to outside.
Our family had a terrific one night stay at this motel! The bed was very good and the shower was nice. I liked that they had refillable bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel and a small bar of soap at the sink. Our family really enjoyed the pool! Breakfast was very limited, probably due to Covid, but basic Starbucks coffee and maybe other food was available from one busy server. The dining room was closed for dinner. We would definitely stay here again!
Summer, on the phone was very rude, they are requesting I re-show my ID and card just to extend and ive never done this at any marriott hotel. summer states its because they have had fraud at this location. obviously my ID and card was checked upon checking in so im not committing fraud. i am disappointed in my treatment here ad a gold member and corporate guest
Not good. They checked in somebody else in my reservation and offered me walk in rate. A small discount was offered for their mistake , was very late in the night , didnt have another option. So went with it. I had to cancel my booking made and then make this new booking via them etc in middle of night for their mistake.They could have handled it better for the mistake they made instead of making me do all the calls and go thru cancellation and rebooking etc.
The hotel was clean, the staff was welcoming, the beds were comfortable, and the two doubles room was spacious. The pool was not clean - there were things at the bottom of it and there were bugs and other items floating at the top. The pool area was adequate, though, and it did the job for our two school-age kids. The gym was great for a quick work out! It was clean and empty most of the time, and it has cardio and strength machines, and a peloton. The biggest negative is the website still says free breakfast with your stay but this hotel is only serving food for a fee. If that’s the case, at least update your website! We got suitable snacks from the Grab & Go, but are rating the Dining low because of the above mentioned change in pricing. Also, the hotel would have been “excellent” for cleanliness except that the pool was so dirty.Overall, we would stay here again. It’s a great spot for a 3-day trip. Any longer and you may want a spot with more amenities.
A few times a year we stop in Bakersfield which is the halfway point in our drive. We have stayed at several other hotels in the area and then we found Marriott Courtyard. We have not stayed anywhere else since. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff is pleasant and professional. Rooms are relatively large and clean.
Finally, a very very clean pet friendly room. Friendly and efficient staff. Check in and check out process was quick. Morning coffee at Bistro was great too. No fuss, just excellent service. The surrounding parking lot is just ok, but well lit at night. Felt safe for Bakersfield.
Positive: The internet was fast. Traditional courtyard, nicely renovated. Restaurants were in a drivable distance. Parking lot was locked at night but the area seemed fine to me.Nice gym. I worked from the room for a week. Negative: No microwave in the room but you could ask for one
Liked this hotel much better than the adjacent holiday inn! (which I stood at the night before). I decided to stay another night in Bakersfield but wanted a nicer hotel so I booked at the Marriott, and I am so glad I did. I got the perfect room for my daughter and I - on the first level with a sliding door that lead directly to the pool. We were in a little slice of heaven for the day/night. Only thing we were missing was a microwave in the room.
This is a good location with a decent size pool. Staff seem to be lazy. Upon entering our room there was only 1 disposable cup for coffee and all kcups were decaf (pure laziness there) Our closet door was broken at the top and wouldn’t slide (housekeeping should have reported after cleaning out from previous customer left and should have reported it, so that it could be fixed) maybe they did and management just didn’t fix it. Either way - come on guys, the suite isn’t cheap.)No luggage carts anywhere……hmmm
Room next door to us partied all night, extremely loud. Complained to front desk. They sent someone up to check at 3am and told the room to quiet down. As soon as the employee left, they moved the party to the hall. There was no follow up. Tried to speak to a manager and was told by Pedro that none work on the weekends. Then they added a $45 food charge to my bill. We never ordered room service! They did refund thus but wow, lousy customer service if you ask me. If you want a good nights sleep, stay somewhere else!
This is my favorite Courtyard to date. Room clean, nice shower, good wifi, and nice and quiet. Check in was pleasant and professional. I did not use the dining facilities at this location but Im usually quite satisfied with them at other Marriott locations and am sure this location would not disappoint.
I stay here quite often. I travel back and forth from San Francisco on the weekends. To see my kids. And some chicks I mess around with. I can’t stay at moms. I love it. It’s clean, comfortable and just a dope place to stay. And they have a pool to deal with this hot bowl!
Was placed in a room that smelled like an animal shelter. Turns out a service animal stayed before us. Room wasn’t properly cleaned. Front desk staff was rude about dirty room. Gossiped about my complaint to housekeeping in lobby rather thanre-cleaning the room. Had us move rooms while they “cleaned” for an hour only to come back to the same dirty room. Spent 5 1/2 hours going down to lobby regarding room and the broken washer and dryers. Ice machines out of order along with laundry room. Dirty rags in hotel elevator that stayed in elevator duration of the stay. Used to be an immaculate hotel with awesome staff. Not sure what happened. Never again.
This was a pleasure trip for me. I will NEVER stay in a low-class hotel again! For the comparritive price, pay the extra couple of $$ for this nice, clean, wonderful hotel!! The staff are also very friendly AND accommodating...they will answer any and all questions. Room is very clean with a small fridge and coffee maker and t.v. Continental breakfast in the mornings. If you call the desk from your room, they will be right there for you (I had difficulty figuring out the t.v. and they came straight away to show me how to operate the controller).
Our room had not been cleaned prior to us arriving. Garbage cans had trash in them, spilt drink on the floor, and wrappers from the last families purchases. One bar of soap for toiletries. But they were under staffed and busy, as well as hosting a bunch of us softball families. No problems with the AC unit. The pool was nice, but very small towels. No robes to be found, even asked the front desk and the gentleman who was very kind had no idea what I was asking for.Good price if you are just going to do an overnight or two. Just wish it had been more accomodating, but with covid it is difficult. They were however amazing when I needed a pack n play for the baby and brought me towels right up when i asked.But as far as the staff they were excellent, i feel like they are doing their best with what they have to work with!
We stayed at facility for a youth baseball. Even though there were lots of young boys running around and in the pool, it was really quiet and comfortable. The facility was very clean and safe. Very satisfied with the comfort and service provided. They used Green Tea bath products which is what we use daily.
Our favorite hotel in Bakersfield. Location is excellent. Hotel is close to dining and the freeway but there is no noise, its quiet. Rooms are always clean and dont smell. From reception to housekeeping everyone is efficient and friendly. Check-in and out is a breeze. Well be back again at the end of the year.
Was nervose about staying at a hotel since Covid. But it was a very clean and comfortable room and friendly staff. What I loved was tht they had little packs of 5 hand sanitizers for guests at the check in desk and even had a packaged disinfecting wipe in the room next to the TV remote control for extra confidence. Will stay there again
Clean, comfortable and spacious rooms. Staff was super friendly and informative. Large room with 2 queen beds. Shower with bathtub and high end shampoo and conditioner. Coffee maker in room.Price was under 100 midweek. Best option around. Security in parking lot. Always a plus.
The service and staff were amazing . They went above and beyond . We showed up 1 minute before they closed the breakfast hour and they still took our order and served us. Most places would not have done that . Friendly , professional and again, went above and beyond . Enjoyed our stay there and will be back
I’m very upset with our stay, we booked with our kids expecting a pool, the first day it worked, the second day the kids were excited to get in and got all ready to go and they closed the pool claiming they put “chemicals” in it and claim that no one can use it. What bothers me the most is I know that chemicals don’t take that long. Second if you plan to close your pool during someone’s stay you might want to let the customers know that the pool will not be open during your stay before you book? So when I nicely asked them about the pool closer they were bothered and said that there was nothing they could do.
They need security! Stayed for business purposes but have my children with me. The room directly across from me was smoking weed they were partying all night long! The smell was so strong it was coming into my room. The hotel is non-smoking! I called the front desk and nothing was never done because we smelled that all night long!
The room was clean and on par with Courtyard by Marriotts however, the pool was in disrepair missing several tiles in multiple locations, there was no acknowledgement or accommodation for a Gold Bonvoy member which was disappointing. I asked for a call by the manager and left message with front desk and there was no follow through. I think this location can do a lot better. But I guess for Bakersfield, there arent too many alternatives in this price point.
I would highly recommend staying at the Marriot in Bakersfield. The staff is wonderful! The rooms are very clean. We felt like they really cared. We had items in the back of our truck and they kept an eye on things and called when they thought something was wrong. They did not have cameras, so they had to personally watch out for their customers vehicles. At our next motel they had cameras in the parking lot and we had an air compressor stolen out of our truck and when we asked to see the footage they refused to show us and gave the police issues also. The thieves that are around the Bakersfield Marriot know not to come around because of the wonderful staff that cares for their customers!
Its 106 degrees on a Saturday. My family came from around the county for a 100th birthday party and chose to stay here for the swimming pool. We all have kids. Well, we are locked out of the pool as I type this because they decided to close the pool for cleaning..... Today..... On a Saturday afternoon ..... In the middle of summer... Theres no one cleaning the pool. The manager said theyre almost done draining it.... Its full. They havent started. There is nothing to do but sit here and sweat. Currently calling other local hotels to try and book a room just to use a pool.Update..... After much crying (literally by our kids) they made accommodations for us to go next door to a sister property for an hour to swim. Much appreciated. Upgraded to 3 stars. But seriously... Closing the pool on a Saturday???
Super smooth Easy check in! Extremely modern up to date rooms with huge smart TVs! Soaps in the bathroom were tea tree premium! Easy parking ! Staff very congenial and professional! Positive: Nothing was great about this hotel Negative: Elevators were out of service and doors near room entrance were out of service making walk to the 3rd floor with luggage and baby stroller impossible to do. Guest services were well aware of our situation before check in.
Last night of a 29-day trip, and this was the comfort level the doctor ordered. We have business calls/Zooms all morning, then a long drive in the afternoon. Quiet even though close to freeway. Connectivity was great, king room with living room was perfect. Independent temperature control, and second table so we could both get things done. Plugs and USB charging tucked around the living space. We could get to a small park for the doggos in about 10 min, and no flack about our two Labradors. Staff even helped us get the bike back out to the car when we packed everything back up. Thank you, Courtyard.
I stay here about 50% of the year for work. It is the best staff, and also has great rooms and best for value I have seen in Bakersfield. My work has gone on for 3 years. There are other very nice Marriot and other hotels to stay at, and I have tried a few. This one is the best!
First of all, I got charged for internet I didn’t even used. Second my member package had free high speed internet. I couldn’t even access the free high speed at all. I have stayed in rancho cardova marriott and I never had a problem as well in Burbank. But here the bed had hairs like if they didn’t change the sheets. Another thing they have no room service, no breakfast taken to your room. It only has 3 floors. Don’t expect this to be an actual marriott. Also, they ask a lot of questions when even after I give my ID and show I am a member. I called about being charged for the internet and I was told it would get refunded! It has been a week and nothing.
Their AC Wall Controls never works. Over last 3-4 stays I had in month no matter which room I stay in, AC controls are malfunctioning. Once they reach to set temperature, compressor turns off and never turns back on when temperature increases. So if you wanna wake up every 30 minutes to turn off the AC and turn it back on manually, go ahead and book your stay.

My car was stolen from the parking lot they kicked me out of the hotel because the police came I was no longer allowed at the hotel because the police were called when my car had been stolen they threw me out into the wild with no where to go no way to go anywhere no phone no car no nothing
Everything was as excellent as expected, with the exception of the Bistro being closed due to Covid. Im not sure why the Bistro was closed as our area restaurants were open and very busy. We stay at the Courtyard primarily because we enjoy having the Bistro in our hotel so that we do not have to leave the hotel again after we have unpacked. The frustrating part was that all the other area food service providers were open and busy. So it made no sense to us why the Courtyard Bistro was closed.
First off Called ahead to see if they had a room available. Concierge was very friendly Nd booked our room. Got here around 12:30am we received our room with no problem when we walk into our room 155 there was a ladder and maintenance equipment next to the bed my husband immediately was like that’s not right, I went to the front desk and told them the findings in our room the person in front desk was so confused and said I will put u across the way so we got the room across and moved our luggage. So we tried to connect to WiFi meanwhile our overnight stay and WiFi didn’t work we called the front desk and it didn’t help that was the first problem. Next issue my son took a shower and on top of the ceiling there was black spots like mold. Third issue There was this plastic thing coming out from the bed that nearly tripped my 4 year old daughter it was sort of tilted over coming out from the bed. When we check out around 11am. There was no regard for my issues. The person in the front desk was like yes it was brought to our attention but the room was recently remodeled so there shouldn’t be and issue I looked at her and said there was so much wrong with the room. She ignored me and said do u want a printed receipt I said yes and walked away. I come to Bakersfield a lot and need a Hotel for the night or even two. Not coming back to this one again and do not recommend. I also heard noise in the hallway early in the morning and my next door neighbor was coughing no sound proof doors or the room isn’t sound proof the whole hotel is pretty badly made. Honestly there is way better Hotels all around do not waste your time please.
This used to be a very good courtyard I have stayed at for more than 15 years later n business. My last three stays have been dumpster fires! Pot smoking in the hallways, a fight in the parking lot and loud music all night long. I do not want to forget the screaming. The best way to explain how I feel would be I would not recommend women or children staying at this location. New management or ownership is recommended.
I’ve worked for an airline for 5 years now. I I understand trying to make a connection with a customer, however, there’s a fine line between making a connection and being intrusive. The receptionist working the night of my stay should try a little harder to learn this.
We have stayed at a variety of Marriotts before and have never been disappointed. The room and bathroom were neat and clean. There were plenty of charging sites for our various electronics. Check in and check out were very easy. The staff was friendly, professional and helpful.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, so my minimum requirements were met. The staff who checked us in and out were very friendly and helpful.The atmosphere in general was kind of old. There were multiple guests whose cigarette smoke we had to walk through to get to our room (heads up for people sensitive to this). The carpets in the hallways seemed a bit grungy. The pool looked nice, and people were using it, but we didnt try it out for ourselves.
The price was appropriateIt is easier to criticize a hotel room when things go awry. I feel that I have come to expect more from Marriott hotels. This location did not live up to my expectations.The concierge on the first night was the best part of our stay. She was generous and accommodating, even in the face of multiple issues.Our card did not work in the door of our room. It also did not work on either of the side entry doors. We returned to get another, which still did not work on the entry doors, but at least it worked for the room.The room was smaller than I would have liked for the price. But at least the WiFi was fast enough and the TV had an accessible HDMI. Although the Auto TV-on feature was unnerving (it made us think that our room was occupied, and that we were intruding because our key cards didnt work initially)The view of the freeway was as unpleasant as the noise coming from itWere I to price the room for what I feel the experience was worth, I would have paid $70 / night rather than $95
I stayed here for two days Im about to check out today ..On 05/29/2021 I requested 2 extra blankets and 2 extra pillows after waiting for more than 1 hour for this to be delivered to my room it never arrived I called back again waited fr another hour and nothing happened I walked to the front desk to make the request in person.. so last night I requested ckena towel because the ones we had were dirty so again I waited over and over and they never send it to my room this time I made the request in person at the front desk.. I told the lady in charge at the front desk that Im not staying for free.. in total it was terrible service
After first booking with Expedia & them messing up and the front desk didnt have my reservation info. The front desk girl Gabby (I think) was so helpful! After Expedia couldnt figure it out she told them to cancel my reservation and before I was off the phone with Expedia she had me checked in let me pick the floor I wanted. After a 6 hour drive it really made the difference after a bad experience with Expedia. Extremely clean room & comfy bed.
Room was clean with comfortable beds and soft towels. The hot tub was nice and hit and the outdoor pool was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Priced right. I will stay again and recommend it. Only down was elevator, ice area, and hallways could have been cleaner.
Comfortable stay. Front desk check-in was smooth. Staff was friendly. Thats always a good thing. But, no information was provided regarding the area. The room was nicely furnished and there was plenty of closet space. You have easy access to the hotel from the freeway, which is a major plus. I had a nice view of the parking lot. I guess that the only view you get when you use points.
This was a great Hotel. I had traveled 6 hours when I stopped to call them and tell them I wouldnt be arriving for another 3 hours and please dont give away my paid for room. He said sure and that he would still be working when I arrive. So 11pm I walk in the hotel and I jokingly hung onto the counter and said I made it and boy am I ready for sleep. He looked at me and started apologizing. And the look on his face was that of bad news. He said I have good news and bad news. We accidentally overbooked. And I had to give out the rooms as first come first serve. Now the good news is you are being upgraded to our newer property at NO CHARGE....YIPPEE....I just had to drive 20 more minutes. Well that is my favorite f word...free.The hotel was gorgeous the room was perfect and the bed was to die for. It was so comfortable. I will definitely return. 5 stars
The rooms were nice. They only had down pillows. We requested regular pillows, since we have allergies. Front desk women said, we have to wait untill midnight when a second person showed. They did not! Next morning housemaid woke us up, when they entered our room and room keys didnt work. Not a very nice stay!!
All staff members are very professional and friendly. We appreciated the compassion that the front desk staff showed us during our stay. We have a father in the heart hospital that had a double by-pass heart surgery so we had to keep extending our stay due to the situation with our father. We are coming back again and have recommended this hotel to our family members that are flying in from the East coast. Thank you for having competent staff members that provide excellent customer service.
We arrived after midnight due to traffic in LA. I called to notify the hotel attendant about our late arrival. Even though the hotel location, room and cleanness of facility was good, however, our stay overall was not pleasant. We were looking for a peaceful and quite night of stay after a long drive from Phoenix Arizona.After checking in and settling, it was well after 2am when we went to bed. At approximately 4:00am the very loud alarm system went off and we had to run outside and into the hallway (where most of other guests were standing) waiting for directions from the hotel staff, but nothing was announced or communicated. After a long wait (approximately 7 or so minutes) the alarm stopped. Again, no announcement or any type of communication came from hotel staff. We, and I assume, other hotel guests were wondering what was going on? Was there a fire or other emergency, or was this some type of drill. At about 30 minutes later, the loud alarm went off again. This one lasted only a minute or so, and stopped. Again, no announcement or any type of communication from hotel staff. At this point, our hope for a quite and peaceful sleep and rest was completely gone. at 8:10am I called the front desk to ask for late checkout, and was told I could stay one hour after the official checkout time of 12:00 noon. We left the hotel around 1:00pm as tired and agitated as we arrived the night before. I think Marriott should waive the room charges, since we, not only did not enjoy our stay, but lived a very stressful night at this facility.
I typically chose a Marriott property to stay at when I travel with my family (there are two adults and three kids if we are all together). The rooms are generally spacious enough to accommodate any sleeping arrangement we are trying at the time, as well as clean enough to not worry about kids on the floor. I appreciate the consistency with which the Courtyard has curated their spaces and experiences. It is helpful to have access to a friendly staff and food at various hours of the day.
Great place to stay. Very professional and welcoming staff. Breakfast and dinner offerings are good. Great selection of wine and beers. Close to freeway off/on-ramps. Yet, no freeway noise. Several good restaurants nearby, plus a Costco across the street for great gas prices.
I would definitely recommend staying at this courtyard Marriott in Bakersfield. I arrived with two colleagues, and a family of four. We Stayed overnight in three guestrooms and one suite. All the rooms were excellent and everyone noted they slept well. The next morning we had a family meeting in the San Joaquin room that was a perfect fit and the breakfast we ordered consisted of muffins, pastries, toast, yogurt, fruit, cereals for the kids, juice, milk, coffee and water- all excellent. Thank you to the staff at the courtyard Marriott including the front desk, the bistro including Mike and his staff and other staff we encountered in the hallways in the hotel. Staff was amazing and always available. We got a wonderful rate and were very happy with our choice. Rooms were clean, beds were a bit hard for my back, but my daughter didnt complain. The only noise was because we were at the rear entrance and that door slammed when used. For the great rate we are very pleased.
Traveling and being stressed helping a child move from California to Texas and driving is tiring after flying all day. We had a great night sleep and were greeted by cordial and professional staff which I appreciate. I travel quite a bit and I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with my choice. The price was excellent and I recommend staying here. Its clean, neat and worth the money. Its by the 99 freeway but we never heard a noise, it was a great choice.
The hotel met and exceeded our expectations. The hotel was extremely clean and the room was spacious. The only downside was there was no microwave in the room but there was a small fridge. The staff was extremely polite and courteous. We enjoyed the pool and had a wonderful time.
We really enjoy this location. It is walking distance to several restaurants. The staff is always very very friendly and helpful. We live only five miles from the location and use as a mini getaway without having to leave town! The rooms are always clean and neat. The patio furnishings seem to need some maintenance and replacing of some of them. It may be time for a bit of a redo of the rooms and add some new outdoor furniture. I would highly recommend this location! Thank you to the staff for taking care of us!
The place charged a pet fee when my pet didn’t stay with us. Requested two return calls never got a single call back. I stay over 100 nights a year with Marriott, have never had any lack of service like this ever in many years. Hilton here I come for my business and vacation needs.
Clean facility with a courteous and efficient staff. Great location with good restaurants within walking distance. Roon was clean and everything functioned properly. The exercise room had some Dumbbells and a couple of treadmills but was too small for a serious workout. Staff at the Bistro was quick and efficient and always cheerful. Housekeeping kept up with the room perfectly.
We drove all day and arrived after dinner. The staff is friendly, polite, and helpful. The rooms are always clean and the mattress is outstanding! Even the shower heads are superior! We enjoyed our brief stay and one of the staffers helped us with our luggage all the way to the car. He just offered--we didnt even ask. What a superhero! We always stay here whenever we drive from northern California to Los Angeles or the beach.
We ended up needing a room the same day we were in Bakersfield. Having not been in the area before, I picked this location based on the google maps review and price. We got in very late and the check-in only took a few minutes, literally (3 minutes). Nice and easy. There was a lot of parking, even for a Saturday night, but I wish it has more lighting. Seemed pretty dark in in the back area and theft is always a concern. The room was nice. It seemed clean and no weird smells. The bedding felt clean and fresh. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable....even with my 7 year old daughter kicking me in the back all night. :) The rooms were very quiet. I never heard anyone in the hallway or any noise coming from the nearby rooms. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the pool. The sliding door was thick and the blackout curtains were excellent. There was a group of kids screaming at the pool till about 9:45pm, but noise inside the room was tolerable. The shower had great pressure and the bathroom was clean. The A/C unit worked great and did not have a harsh fan startup. I wish this location had a free breakfast, but otherwise happy with our stay. There was an IHOP and Dennys nearby.
Great location. Lovely pool area, as well as all of the common areas. The rooms are clean, but are not huge.... Could use an update, but are very clean. The small came downstairs is only open during certain hours, which is a bummer if you have kiddos on property, bc only lunch & dinner are avail. But, what is available is actually quite good and fresh with actual healthy options. And although it isnt an actual Starbucks, the coffee was well made. Very good customer service.
This place has left me frustrated, the rates constantly fluctuate depending on their money grab. Also for the price the rooms, they are old and outdated, dusty and have a stale smell to them. The towels felt much like the rooms...old , I’ve stayed here for two weeks, they could of easily had me for my full contract of 13 weeks but I won’t be back -travel nurse
We stayed here for an event at the Convention Center.The hotel was clean and orderly and exceeds the expectations for its star rating.Our kids loved staying in a room adjoining the pool area and they swam for hours each evening.The location is central to many amenities - our kids loved the Johns Incredible Pizza that we s within walking distance.There are many restaurants, Costco, And much shopping within a couple of miles.It’s about a 5-10 minute drive to the convention center and very easy to access.The staff is attentive and friendly and the overall cleanliness is good.Only drawback was the beds in our room were 2 doubles - really need queen size beds for a family of four.
I called down for more towels because for our junior suite family of 4 there were only 3 towels in the room. They never came and we left to dinner and came back still no towels. Tried using the app to request towels for a second time and still to no avail. We only stayed one night and it was disappointing that we couldn’t even get towels. Tip: maybe in your suites there should be a minimum of four towels or have a more competent front desk and app that actually works.
The staff was warm and accommodating! The room was quiet, immaculate, comfortable and perfectly decorated! The bed was beyond comfortable! Being an Elite Member, I received a beverage upon check in...I love that!!! Marriott is the best! I always feel so special being a guest there!
In town for an interview the next morning and my stay was perfect. Clean, quiet and very user friendly. Staff was polite and saw to my needs immediately. I was greeted and checked in (and in my room) within 10 minutes. This was the second time Ive stayed in this hotel while in the area and will always give them first shot when I return.
This is our new meeting place when picking up our grandkids its s great half way spot for all of usIt was just as stated. Supper clean, great staff, comfortable beds, good continental breakfast buffet, microwave, refrigerator everything you need in the room There were 5 of us and the kids said the pull out was comfortable also. Plenty of places to eat near the hotel also, costco is close by also.
Went to watch our son play football at Bakersfield Community College. It was perfect for our family and friends. Clean, friendly, and accommodating. Would stay here again. Eric at the front desk was excellent and anticipated our needs. He was extremely helpful and polite.
Overall the stay was good. I was not impressed at the time the breakfast bar opened. The bar was suppose to have opened at 6:00 am. It didnt open until 6:10-ish. Guess I should have been on California time. People who travel have schedules to keep. at my job time is everything. My job or reasoning for the trip was business and my responsibilities started at 7:00 am. (SHARP)
A clean, modern and well maintained hotel with excellent staff and good location relative to restaurants. We enjoyed an excellent room with a comfortable bed and appreciated the level of cleanliness and attention to detail in the room. The staff was friendly, courteous, professional and very helpful.
Other than I expect Marriott to have above average service the hotel was nice. I did not complain about the room location because I felt there must have been a reason we were placed in that room. IE... when we checked in the attendant asked us which floor we would like. I responded, the quietest one which to her meant the 3rd floor. Then to place us next to the elevator probably meant that the floor was occupied.
The staff at the Courtyard was very welcoming and helpful. They remembered me each time I came through the lobby and offered recommendations for food and fun. The room was great with a comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. Very clean room and bathrooms. I will definitely stay here again.
My wife and I stay at this facility several times yearly ( have been a steady customer here since 1989 ). ALWAYS a clean and comfortable hotel and the rates are very compatible with other hotels in the area. The staff is welcoming and friendly. Location is perfect for the antique shops and local good quality restaurants.
We were staying overnight to see family. The check in process was quick and efficient. They even asked if we had a preference ie; upstairs or next to the ice. The rooms are nice. Updated furniture. Clean environment. The hotel is located right off the 99 south. Check in times are a little late but the check out is very convenient being later in the afternoon. Wonderful bar and restaurant located near the lobby. Plenty of restaurants around though for kids and family members alike. Very pleased with our stay.
There was both a nail and a blade (shaving razor blade) on the elevator floor.The front desk staff kept me waiting nearly 5 minutes while they audibly cackled and joked around in the back until their colleague arrived to help.Also, they charged me an absurd amount for a salad they were blatantly about to throw out (yes I am ashamed that I paid full price for it but I was starving).No free WiFi and no security cameras outside if you’re traveling with belongings in your car.My first negative experience at a Marriott tbh. Used to joke they were the place to stay no matter where you went.
I always stay at the Courtyard Marriott when passing through Bakersfield from the Bay Area to San Diego. Exception was a stay at the Springhill Suites a few months back where my daughter had a severe allergic reaction to their sheets, needless to say ill never wander away from this location again. Thank you Eric for making this such a pleasant and welcoming stay your service is outstanding!
King Suite was comfortable and business friendly. The bathroom area was surprisingly smaill compared to the bedroom and living/work room. Disappointed that the food service area did not offer extended hours. Food service was not available after 10:00 am. The front desk staff was very professional.
We stay here annually and have always enjoyed our visit.The staff is friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean.There is a restaurant onsite and a few amenities for sale at the check in area so if you forget something its no big deal.The hotel also has quick access to many restaurants and the freeway is very close.It isnt a fancy overstated hotel but it has everything you need for a pleasant stay.

Great room and property. However, the bar pricing and bar tending was less than standard! 2 small glasses of Anaretto and ice after dinner 20 bucks! IT’S BAKERSFIELD.....and certainly no ambiance with 3 booths with their own televisions and remote controls! Give me the City......with a view and same pricing!
Well, I was there for a second I was at the wrong place but from the few seconds I was there the place was clean, and the girl upfront was really nice and helpful as she told me there is no room 130. Never been inside further then the lobby and what I did learn is they do not have a room 130.
I have stayed at this property several times and am always really pleased with the services from check in and the room staff in passing or if anything is needed during the stay. The property is well maintained and I enjoy the lobby setting. Plenty of parking and access. The rooms are updated and feel very comfortable during my stay. Thank you Courtyard!!
We have stayed at this Courtyard many times over the past 20 + years. Always clean. Excellent price for the area. Located within reasonabledistance to restaurants and downtown antique shops. Easy freeway access. Courteous and friendly staff. Have stayed at other hotels in the area, but this is our choice 6 + times yearly. Thankyou.
Check in was fast and easy. Staff is very pleasant and gave me the option to select which floor I preferred. 3rd floor is popular since you dont have anyone above you. Also hotel is near a 24 hour fitness which serves as a bonus if youre a member. Very close Black Angus (walking distance). Security is making their rounds to ensure your vehicle is safe and that lights or doors are not left open.
Wonderful beds and bedding at the Courtyard by Marriott. There was no complimentary coffee in the lobby which was a shame. Had to purchase coffee from the Starbucks concession in the breakfast area. Otherwise the hotel was very clean, conveniently located and again, the beds and bedding were terrific. Very comfortable and have stayed there now twice and would return.
Loved the hotel. It was an older hotel but had a cool pool veiw and friendly employees. If you stay here try to get the bottom floor close to the pool if you have kids because you can watch the right from your room. Parking is nice because once you know where you are you can drive to that area parking wraps all the way around.
Dont let the fact that your room doesnt offer a queen bed discourage you from choosing Marriott Courtyard. The rooms are accommodating and spacious and the great staff make the stay an enjoyable experience. Relax at poolside and enjoy the excellent service provided by the wait staff.
The previous guest smoked in my room, so when I arrived, I entered my smoke-free room with the smell of cigarettes. The hotel staff attempted to use a device to remove the smell but it did not work. The hotel was sold out so they couldn’t move me to another room. I understand that the hotel has no way of physically preventing guests from smoking in their rooms, but the main thing that irritates me is that the hotel staff cleaned my room before I got there, which means they smelled the smoke in my room, yet finished cleaning and allowed me to stay in there well knowing there was a heavy cigarette smell. This shows VERY POOR customer service, and honestly I’m deeply appalled.
Quick stop in Bakersfield on our way to Yosemite. The front desk staff was very helpful. The room was clean and spacious. Everything was well taken care of around the outside of the hotel. We enjoyed our morning coffee in the lobby. Great stay in a nice location right off the freeway. We will stay here again if in the area.
I stayed at the Marriott for business and was greeted by friendly staff that made my check in quick and painless. The Bistro food is very good and the service was great. Room was clean, quiet, bedding was great and the room was dark which I appreciate when trying to sleep.
We enjoy the Courtyard brand of Marriott for its reasonable prices, and their great Bistros. Typically the service we receive at the Bistro is top notch, and the food quality is excellent. Also, the hotel facilities and our rooms have always been clean and and comfortable. As a Platinum Elite member, my only disappointment is room upgrades at the Bakersfield Courtyard are rare. I assume that is because the hotel is always busy and the upgrade rooms are rented out prior to my arrival...oh well, still a fantastic facility! My wife and I really enjoy staying here when we are traveling; its a great place to lay-over, enjoy a nice meal, and get a good nights rest!
Everything but the carpet in the room was really clean, I think a carpet shampooing is due, thats all.NO MICROWAVE in room, in case youre wondering :( it was really needed, too, but does have a minifridge.Air cond. worked very well, water inside of it smelled rank, though.I wish this hotel offered complimentary breakfast but only had the Bistro, not much selection for those that like a hearty start. Iwent to IHOP just across the freeway instead.Bed linens are super comfy! Mattress on the firm side but youll probably be okay.
I’m someone who keeps a bottle of 409 and a pair of Rubbermaid gloves in the trunk of my car just in case of.....whatever unpleasantness I encounter! LOL This hotel was AWESOME!!!! Immaculate, fresh and updated. Everything was in pristine condition- even the gym! Loved the pool and the Starbucks right in the lobby.Heaven.
The courtyard is always my go to hotel in Bakersfield! The price is well worth it, and almost all the rooms have a nice balcony. Far enough away from the freeway that you don’t hear it at all, but very convenient to access. Amenities are great, towels could use a little fabric softener, but homestlynwouldnt never stay anywhere else! In three years I’ve probably stayed 30+ nights at this property and always has been a wonderful experience.
Very disappointing stay. We have stayed on Courtyards all over the country; this was the worst. It was 98 degrees outside when we arrived after a long day of driving. At the time of check-in no one bothered to inform us that the pool looked like pea soup and that the whirlpool was also closed down. Had we known, we would have chosen to stay elsewhere as we were looking forward to a relaxing evening using these amenities. I was also surprised to learn that not even a continental breakfast was offered when nearly every other hotel in this price range offers a full breakfast; and yes, it is my fault for not noticing this hotel is the exception in this area when I was booking.
The Courtyard was a good place to stay for the family gathering we attended. We were away from the room most of the time for our activities but while we were there it was quiet and comfortable and especially clean. We didnt have to travel far for anything we needed. We felt secure and well served.
I love this hotel! I usually arrive in Bakersfield late, tired and hungry. The staff at the hotel are friendly and efficient. The Bistro has a nice selection for a quick dinner and/or breakfast. The hotel is clean and I always feel safe there. The beds are incredibly comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.
We had a really nice cocktail and a light meal at the Bistro, with super service from the evening crew and a super Old Fashioned and Brussel Sprouts. We thought we were going to order take-out while we were working on a project in the Bistro, but ended up having a great meal and we didnt have to have anything delivered. Great environment to have a glass of wine and work. Thanks for having everything set up for us, Courtyard Bakersfield!
Front desk agent very friendly and welcomes you as you check in. Rooms are clean, but some stuff needs to be adjusted for maintenance purpose. Food service (Bistro) was good, but they need more than one person to work that small restaurant Bistro. that one person took the order, cooked, picked up dirty dishes, wipe tables and was the cashier also. that one person was very friendly and no one really complaint to him since it took awhile to get our food, and he did apologized for taking too long when he brought it out to us. what can I say?
Everyone was so nice from the moment I called in to book room till the moment I checked out. Eric at the front desk went above and beyond with his customer service. There was also 2 young ladies that provided excellent service as well, but I cant remember their names. They helped when Eric was at break.
Has a very old uncomfortable mattress. The sleeper sofa was very squeaky and uncomfortable as well. Other than that, the staff is very friendly and the property is well maintained. Close to the freeway but not too loud. Also close to other food places. Very convenient location.

2022-01-11The cafe service was beyond compare, wish I would have thought to ask their names. The morning staff at the front desk was also super. After waiting at the desk early the dude at the cafe offered me coffee and the woman was so pleasant. All this at o-dark thirty. Room was standard courtyard, bed was a little soft. Manager, you are lucky to have these people!

2022-06-24Very clean, front desk people were good (Thanks, Monique!), Cafe serving Starbucks coffee was nice. Loved getting to look out at the patio and see the pool even if I didnt have time to swim. And the toilet paper was folded into a little triangle!! Cant trust a hotel with no little TP triangle! Parking lot was convenient with extra nearby entries for people with hotel key cards, so we didnt have to haul our luggage through the whole front room. Also there were three stray cats in the parking lot and two were very friendly but stayed out of the way of people who didnt want to stop to pet the kitties (third was not social, but thats his right)

2022-01-26Not a normal Marriott. The resort is clean. No Free Shuttle to the Airport as advertised. Also, no breakfast included. When asked Angie did not care. Maybe too busy but said the information was wrong for a couple of months due to insurance issues. Just put what services you have and keep it real so people dont get stuck booking and not get what they are paying for.

2022-02-26Our stay here was great. The area around the hotel is safe and secure. The hotel is one of the cleanest I have ever been to, lobby and room. They have a starbucks in the lobby which surprised me for being a smaller hotel. Not sure if that’s standard for Courtyard by Marriot’s. Very friendly staff!

2022-04-08As a warning to all business travelers, the walls here are PAPER THIN. Like can hear the room next to me when they open their toothpaste thin. Can hear every single word of the weird music show they’re watching thin. Every time I walk out of my room I swear there’s someone yelling outside my door, but there’s no one in sight. Impossible to get some good sleep. Will not be staying here again.

2022-03-18This was one of the worst hotel stays Ive ever had. I was first assigned a room (different than I had reserved) next to two party rooms with loud music playing at midnight. I was moved down the same hall to another room next to a couple fighting until 4 a.m., who then kept making noise in their bed into the rest of the morning. I let the front desk associate Theron know about this and, while he apologized, did nothing to make the experience better. I asked that my comments be passed to the manager. I never received any follow up communication whatsoever until I completed an automated email survey about my stay. I often stay at Marriott and generally have good experiences, but I will never stay at this hotel again. Stay away.
