This place is trash. The customer service was horrible and the staff lacked patience, empathy, and basic customer service skills. Me and my family were robbed because the hotel had a broken door to enter the hotel so anyone without a key card can enter the hotel. It is UNSAFE to leave your room. The icing on the cake, when we requested to speak to the manager she blamed the situation on us and said the hotel isn’t liable for anything. She made zero attempts to communicate our options and kept repeating like a broken machine that it’s not her problem. Plus the rooms smell funky. 100% a NO from me.
If I could rate this place in the negatives I absolutely would. I came from a different state to stay here and was robbed within 15 minutes of entering the premises. The thief used a lock pick and got into our room and walked away with all four of our suitcases. The thief was able to get in because the door has no security. You typically need a key card to enter the hotel but it was “broken.” So any random person can enter the hotel without a keycard. The hotel receptionist said she and the manager knew it was broken but failed to make us aware of this fact before we got checked in and settled much less take any steps to fix the broken scanner. The receptionist also said there had been other robberies there before. When we tried to get the receptionist to watch the security tapes she said she can’t and continued to take other customers instead. It was after asking for the 56th time that she actually viewed the cameras. Worse, when we called the manager to talk about this incident she turned off her phone for hours so she wouldn’t have to address the situation. Even worse, when we did eventually reach the manager HOURS later she had no meaningful conversation and was void of all empathy. She picked up the phone with a load of attitude and insinuated that this entire situation was my fault. She said constantly without listening to what even happened “the hotel isn’t liable for anything.” She expressed no sympathy let alone guide us to any resources for theft insurance or other avenues. I would rather drink a gallon of wet concrete than ever stay at this place again. Terrible. Absolutely horrendous.
Not safe!! A tall and big homeless walked in the building at night time from the backdoor which couldnt be locked and anybody on the street could get into the hotel easily. He stopped by my side and asked if I want to smoke. I was scared and have my husband called the front desk later to report this ...but seems the hotel staff was not surprised and confirmed with us it was a homeless. Besides, the hotels elevator was out of order, and the hot tub by the swimming pool was NOT in operation neither. Plus, the bathtub in our room was dirty and broken!!
Positive: The beds were fine the tv was large and mounted on the wall. The fridge and microwave were nice. Negative: We found a cockroach in the bathroom upon entering. We found another one in the morning. The room was also located next to an exit door and stairs which made for plenty of noise throughout the night.
Good price on the rooms and has alot to distract you but rooms are very generic and not very spacious. Paid for a 2 bed and the only window in the room faced a wall. Staff made this stay alot better though. Theyre very friendly and helpful, I would come back just because of that.
Positive: Roxanne tried to work with us even though the hotel sold our booked rooms to someone else :( Negative: At check in time the girl up front told us that the rooms we ordered are not available so take your refund back or what a surprise? Finally chose different rooms but didn¿t get what we ordered & it is extremely awe full experience
Nice place and good price. Conveniently located with good restaurants and shopping in walking distance. Some small issues like noisy HVAC. Breakfast is decent but watch for the biscuits being hard as a brick. Overall I would definitely look at staying here agian if I return to Bakersfield.
They stole around 450usd from my bank account. I dont recommend anyone to accommodate here, might happen the same thing. I spoke many times with employees, they shift responsibility to the manager every time. There is no response to my email massage and booking message as well. We are preparing a lawsuit against them. Please be careful here.
Over all nice place few issues windows that dont open and obscured so cant see out made me feel scared if thier is a fire were screwed and had a few friendly visitors very small ants and a dead roach in light fixture but no live ones... clean pool and jacuzzi, close to the Mall ... overall nice place definitely need to clean out the dead roach
Me and my boyfriend love love love absolutely love the jacuzzi room I usually go through booking.com because I get free upgrades on a bigger more spacious room also the hotel guests are very cordial and I also love their breakfast it lacks nothing this hotel provides exceptional service goes above and beyond my expectations I have never been dissatisfied the Wi-Fi signal is the best out of any hotel I have ever stayed at the non jacuzzi rooms or Whirlpool rooms hot tub whatever you want to call it are very spacious it has a living room separate from the room and separate from the bathroom which is private and the living room couch turns into a bed which is very convenient if you have children or guests
The pictures look good but dont be fooled. Its a great location but the hotel needs a good deep cleaning and needs to comply with safety standards. Staff didnt wear masks and only allow eating in the dining room. You cant take your breakfast to your room. Dining tables are not 6 apart either. They prefer you take a risk and eat with strangers with no masks in a crowded area than eat in your room. They dont really light the bon fire out front as pictured. Hallways are dirty and smell.
Almost business class hotel with spacious rooms, heavenly beds and quiet surroundings. The room feels warm in December without heating. I was very annoyed by the fact that staff does not follow state mandated indoor masking requirements but that appears to be generally the case in the Bakersfield area.
This hotel had horrible customer service and they have roaches . When we booked on booking.com we booked 3 days for $220.00 and expecting a $25.00 security deposit because that’s what it says on Booking.com, so we call to pay and check in they lady takes my card number chargers my card the 220 then says oh and there’s a $200.00 security deposit after she already charged me for the room ! Im just like that’s something that you really should say before you charge a persons card because how did you even know I have that money when it says 25 dollars online !!! So I tell her well it’s said 25 dollars online she says well they haven’t updated that . So how’s that my problem ? But she charged me already so I had to pay the 200 dollar deposit or we would’ve been out off 220 for about a week or so because how long it takes for them to refund you . We get to the room soon as we walk in we see roaches running 😱 like we just paid 420 and we have to stomp out roaches ? ! That’s sick . They even know they have a bug problem because it’s sign down stairs asking not to take food in the room because they don’t bugs getting bad . It’s a nice looking suite they just have a bug problem and bad customer service!! So that kinda messed up our stay . We will not be coming back !!
Check in was fine. The woman at the front desk is very nice and efficient. However, when we got to the room, there was an overwhelming smell of pet urine. I have a dog back home, so I know that smell. Now, this is a pet friendly hotel, but that does not mean that patrons should have to deal with unsanitary issues resulting from the previous presence of a pet occupant. When my husband asked to change rooms, he was told that the hotel was sold out for the weekend and there was nothing she could do. Our children are with us and we should not have to expose them to these conditions. If you are going to accept pets, you MUST be ready to clean accordingly after they check out. There is NO way housekeeping couldnt smell this room as they cleaned. No way!Additionally, the back door that leads out to the parking lot is broken and could be opened without a key. Said door was right next to our room.. Safety issue! Reviews that I read, prior to making the reservation, said there was a security guard who patrols throughout the night. We never saw ANYONE patrolling. For $350 for a 2-night stay, I am incredibly upset and will be sure that my friends and family know what a nasty experience this was. Radisson should be ashamed to call this hotel part of their chain.
Hotel is a little dated but it’s a great value. We had a king suite that was pet friendly. It was quiet and peaceful. Much like anywhere in Southern California there are lots of transients but they have security guards and cameras everywhere to help with that. I’d definitely stay here if I’m in Bakersfield ever again.
Pros: Pet Friendly (with $15 deposit), free cookies, bar and half priced drinks for happy hour. Cons: Roaches, sub par cleaning (fridge full of someone elses leftovers, coffee was still there from last persons stay). Dont stay near the reception desk on level 1 if you can avoid it due to the noise of people during the night and the cleaning staff in the morning. Oh, and dont think about bringing breakfast to the room. My money is on the fact they know they have a roach issue, but they said because the cleaning staff doesnt like it.Both issues I had were in previous reviews. FYI.Honestly dont stay here. Or in Bakersfield. Theres a 20% tax for them to house their homeless. Im all about housing the homeless, but you can stay in another town either in Barstow or up i5 right off the highway. I dont think SF even charges that.
My husband and I are currently staying at the Bakersfield Country Inn and Suites in Bakersfield November 11/21.When we arrived the window was wide open .. however that was not an issue just found that a bit strange. The decor pillow on the sofa had very noticeable stains on them. Only half of the curtains and the bedroom curtain would not even close. I can over look this but roaches we had to hunt down and kill was not acceptable. My husband went to the front desk around 6:00pm and talked to the young lady there twice. She had no solution and was not really interested in our situation at all. My husband asked her to talk to the manager. The manager was not in so he asked to have the manager to please give us a call. It is currently 10:06 and have not received a call or a follow up.We are VERY disappointed in the customer service at this hotel and the cleanliness of our room. We have stayed here before but this time we found it has definitely gone down hill.We will not be back. If it was not so late in the evening we would leave.Beware roaches!!!!
I reserved a two beds room. During check-in, I received the meeting room with the excuse that there were no rooms with 2 beds. It was a conference room with all the chairs removed (except some that were dispersed around), with the atrium hidden in a corner, a sofa in the middle of the room and two improvised wardrobe-beds close to a wall. The rest of the room was just empty space with no decoration. There was a very big and old fridge in a corner. The bathroom had soap stains. There was a bookcase adapted as a bathroom closets. The furniture in there was full of hotel unused stuff. No bed lamps. When complained about this room, I was offered a room with a sofa bed plus a king size bed. We tried two of these rooms but the two smelled and we decided to stay in the meeting room as it was 11pm and the next hotel with a room was 30min away. Then we discovered that the towels were dirty with curly hair and brown stains. There were no toilet paper. Tired of complaining, we just went to bed and used our beach towels. The breakfast was ok to good, though. It was very surprising as it had good reviews in hotels.com and booking. Never again in my case. It was disappointing that level of improvisation.
Dont ever check in late, staff do not greet you with a smile. Rooms are nice, clean, and pleasant smelling. Overall hotel was not too impressive. So many rules about having guests over etc. Im not from here only passing through. A first for me. Morning staff were much better. Breakfast was the usual items found at any hotel. Would I come back, probably not. I most definitely would give other hotels a try before thinking of coming here again.
This rating was hard. On one hand the numerous rules, regulations, violations, and monetary fines that you have to initial and sign in blood are absolutely over the top. A lot extreme! But on the other hand I felt safe enough to walk out to my car at night as they have security that patrols constantly. They only have one ice machine (which is by the office so they can count your allotted ice cubes. Dont dare go over!!) BUT the pool is open until midnight. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Its very quiet but there are numerous places to eat, shop, or go to the movies. Go next door to Estrella Bakery. They have the best breakfast burritos I have ever eaten in my life! Hands down the best.
A lack of security and poorly chosen employees are reason for this one. Twice now my wife has been found by a sadistic ex boyfriend while we.stayed at motel. This employee which happened to be my wifes ex boyfriends daughter saw that my wife was staying there so she notified her father. When the ex boyfriend realized my wife was there he started harassing her again. My wife and I plus all our other family can never stay here Again. Because of Ms Adams, daughter of Kirk Adams. No one we know will stay here ever again. Until the day mz Addams is fired!!!
This place used to be The Garden Inn Suites... The crowd around here wasnt the best and it became run down so I stopped going... Had a Jacuzzi Suite here awhile back and enjoyed it... Come to find out the Jacuzzi Suite here is 100 times better than the Jacuzzi Suite at the Ramada on Real Rd... If anyone knows of a better Jacuzzi Suite than here please let me know... Country Inn and Suites will continue to get my business... 😎
Stayed here last night just to sleep after a long drive. Point, I probably would never stay again.Pros:Front desk woman was nice. Froze my ice packs over night.Dog friendlySize of room was decent.InexpensiveCONS:Very dirty place! The room wreaked of cigarette smoke. I rang the front desk to make sure I didn’t get charged for that. I later heard another guest complaining that they requested a non-smoking room and it stinks. She said they were all non-smoking. Clearly there is no regulation. It smelled also as if it were actively coming through the vents.Walls had various splatteringCarpet everywhere was stained, rooms & halls. In fact, it was so dirty after walking barefoot for a very short time in the room, when I stepped in the shower I left black foot prints.Pillows were embarrassing. In conclusion, there were no bedbugs so if you’re desperate, fine.
Positive: Shower Negative: Everything..the staff was rude..I asked multiple times for towels and to have ac heater fixed and nothing. Was told u o ly get towels when u check in which room had none and the bedding was used from previous guest. The breakfast was horrible. Never again
The room I stayed in was outdated and quite dirty. There was not one but two cockroaches (one in the bedroom and another in the bathroom)! No office desk/chair were provided, which may come inconvenient for business travellers. The complimentary Wi-Fi is much appreciated, but is rather slow and unreliable. The entire hotel in general lacked decent lighting, especially in the hallways. Breakfast service was dissapointing; a hotel staff rudely ushered me out when I was still eating because breakfast was closing. I get it, rules are rules, but seriously, give people some time to eat in peace, please!Overall, despite its very reasonable price, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Rose at the front desk was so helpful and as sweet as can be. (Even with having put her dog of 15 years down today). The King Suite was very spacious with 2 giant tvs and a beutuful bathroom. The lobby was very well put together with a very homey comfortable ambiance. I have to add that the plugin outlets outside by the smoking area are a great touch! Definite will stay here again..
Honestly I stayed in the hotel about 2 months ago. I passed by today to see if my hair clippers i had forgotten were still in the lost in found. Only because I was in the neighborhood. But get this! The younger Mexican girl was rude and on the defensive side. She asked which room I stayed in. I couldnt remember. But it came to me, and I said the big conference room. I mentioned that the Manager, at checkout had said that they should not have been renting it out .The young rude Mexican girl was. like yes we can and do! The conference room is being rented out. Are they that desperate. Trashy! I am sorry but I was cussing on the way you out. Because she kept talking over me Saying this conversation is over. The conference room.! What s next? The GYM!
When in town last weekend , We booked for two nights. To start the moment we pulled up, there was alot of late night activity in the parking lot, and did not feel safe. After we checked in we walked Through the hallway which smelled of marijuana and when we walked into the room, which was non smoking, reeked of smoke.I asked to be transferred to a different room and the clerk graciously did it. When we walked into the second room assigned, we pulled out the sofa bed only to learn all of the bedding was dirty. It was unsanitary and after filing a complaint the clerk in the lobby offered to give us clean sheets that we could change! We were so disgusted and obviously unhappy with the service that we requested a refund and decided to leave to another hotel. I’m still waiting on a refund
Pictures are very deceptive. The place looks good at the check in desk, and then you go to your room...Filthy the whole way to our room. All the carpets are stained bad, the elevator was so dirty had marks all over the door and walls. And the room omg looked like Bates motel dark and muggy, beds were all wrinkled and looked thrown together. There was huge stain on the lamp shade, marks on the walls. A local informed me that its a drug hotel they tried to vamp up, so nope I would not suggest this place at all. We stayed all of 15min and left. Horrible experience
This is a PRISON, not a hotel. They say NO EATING IN THE ROOM, because they dont have a pest management program. We ate in the room anyways, so FU. They had to have a guard when they attended to the room, because the illegal immigants they hire are afraid of the guests. At the same time, pretending to be concerned about security, the entrance door key lock is broken, so anyone can go into the hotel. We asked for a shower chair in the non-handicapped room, but were denied even though they had an empty handicapped room with a chair in it.
Worst stay ever! The carpets from the rooms that pets can be at had stains🤮 my family and I were grossed out! The bath was not what we expected it was dirty! It was really dirty. But before they gave us a room that was not ready and had to wait. We went to the front desk for another room. The worst was at night you could hear the other neighbors! And the women from the front desk was rude. Never never going there again
This is decent place to stay as it was quiet. The down falls are the hallway carpets are worn and were very dirty with big visible stains Pet owners be aware that there is a $30 per night charge for having pets. This is a steep price to pay and is not disclosed at check in either or shown on 3rd party apps as well. The location is good with target, Imax theater and the mall all next door.
It would make a world of difference if their cleaning crew actually cleaned the room thoroughly. We found stains of all sorts all over the room. Our bedding was wrinkled and had stains. The ceiling fan in the bathroom was nearly falling off and looked to have mold around it. There was a ring of rust underneath the tissue paper cover. Yet the kicker was finding a nearly empty dime bag that I suspect had residue of drugs, laying on the bedside table that I luckily found before my 5 year old son.
Hotel itself is nice. Staff was nice and friendly. Great complimentary breakfast. Room was good size and comfortable, good bedding and was clean. The only issue I had was with the bathroom. Bathroom needed to be deep cleaned. Mold around water spout and residue on shower walls, shower curtain needed to be changed, floor boards were dusty and paint was peeled off half of bathroom door.
This place was not very clean. Looks great from the outside but our room was not very clean. Carpet and pillows on couch had visable stains, bathroom counter around sink was dirty, no plug in by bed for c-pap machine. Doggie walk area was so messy that dog would not walk on grass. I could go on....
We stayed here back in February, before the pandemic was going on.Checkin process was smooth and there was sufficient space for our car to park. The room was modern, spacious and clean. We both had a good night sleep on the comfy beds.We also enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi, whoever I think that this area needs more privacy. There isn’t really a dressing area and everybody can see from the street, who is using it.Breakfast was also included and more than sufficient, a lot of choices and fresh items.Only downside was the horrible deodorizer smell in the hallways. Its just too strong and heavy.
First room had dried blood all over the carpet ,dog food everywhere amongst other small debris. Second room had fresh dried mystery droppings that maybe was toothpaste on the floor. So many stains on the carpet that you could tell they dont ever clean. I can imagine how horrible the rest of their cleaning regimen is for sheets etc.. are. ABSOLUTELY HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE NASTIEST HOTELS IVE EVER STAYED IN. I cant believe they even had this 2 rooms available for rent. Its not located a good area of Bakersfield either.
Please take the time to read the reviews. One year ago I stayed at this hotel and had everything to rave about. The beds were so comfy, cleaning was spectacular, even felt safe staying here with my children. Fast forward this week.. some shady stuff going on folks! Whole hotel reeks of weed, was scared to even park in the parking lot, killed three roaches, constant foot traffic in and out ALL night long, tweakers in the room next door with the windows open so they could smoke their cigarettes. Not sure what happened to this place but it was filth!
The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The staff is helpful and if youre just passing through, its a great place to stay. There is a small pool, and a decent complimentary hot breakfast. The lights in the room are all bright white LEDs so it is very harsh in the rooms. All the windows were sealed shut and had opaque film on them, so it felt a little suffocating. The parking was terrible, but mostly because nobody staying there could figure out how to park between the lines. All in all, it was a good place to stop for the night, but I wouldnt want to make a vacation out of it.
When there with my family coming from disneyland spent the night. The next morning when we left I had accidentally left my AirPods there but it was too late to return. Thought I could let them know that they were there and I can track them through an apple app. The app say they were at the hotel but when I called and let them know they didn’t seem interested in helping me and said they would call me after they search. They never called me I had to re call them again and they said nothing is there even tho the app said they were still there. The people working here won’t return lost items and they will keep them for themselves. Thieves. I sent an email to their corporate to let them know and going to file a police report.
I have used this hotel several times for judges for a livestock show. After this last show, we will never use it again. My AmEx, that I almost never use but had submitted a CCA to this hotel, had 3 fraud charges before catching it. My second credit card was overcharged. Eleven days later I have not received a refund, let alone a response to my emails or phone calls from Maria, the GM, on the overcharges. One of my judges couldnt stay there her second night. This was her text to me after the first night: Would you please book me a hotel at the airport? This place was terrible. Yelling, smoking, vomit outside entry. I cannot stay here again. Sorry to bother but it was terrible. I’ll check out this am.
Love Love Love the huge fluffy beds here!!! Slept like a baby while my kids enjoyed their own separate section of the room that had a sofa that turned into a bed... the whole family had a great time and the pool is actually bigger than it appears as well, and the whole place was super clean and also had a few lovely ladies that worked front desk and kitchen in the morning who were above and beyond helpful and just decent and nice! I love this new place and will be back again, Thank you for the great stay here and all you provided for me and my family=)
Not sure why this place is rated so highly but my stay was rather unpleasant. There was an odd, bad smell in the hallways and elevator. The rear elevator also had trash/litter on the ground while we were there. And gosh, there were stains EVERYWHERE. Stains on the bath towel, sheets, walls, carpet, basically everything. There was also hair in the bathroom when I first went in. Gross. Sanitation is especially a concern during this time. The front desk staff was also unprofessional and unfriendly. Would not recommend staying here.
I very rarely write a review for a hotel but this was such a bad experience I had to warn others, don’t stay here! Not only were people hanging around in the parking lot drinking and smoking, but the smell of marijuana was heavy in the hall. I paid for a non-smoking room. The room had clearly been smoked in and the hotel was employing a very strong deodorizer that made the room smell horrible. The windows we’re frosted and disgusting. The carpet was heavily stained as were the walls. The comforter had stains all over it. And with all of that, none of it is the worst part. I finally took some Tylenol and fell asleep despite the obnoxious odor only to be awakened to stomping upstairs and several loud boom sounds followed by arguing. This continued until about 4:30AM. I got maybe 2-3 hours sleep tops. Will never stay here again.
This place is overpriced and filthy! It smells of cigarettes and weed. It’s dirty, has bugs and shady activity in the parking lot. Forget “sanitized“ for covid-I don’t think it’s ever been cleaned. The carpets were gross, the towels and tub were dirty. The AC worked poorly. NO ONE was wearing a mask. The walls had holes and burn marks. I could go on forever. After trying to reach the customer service department several times with no luck-here’s my review. Spend your +$100 elsewhere!!!
Paid $121 for a room that was dirty and had old windows that I could not see through or open. The bed sheet had some kind of weird brown stains that I didnt see till the next morning. The drains in the bathrooms hardly work. How do you call this an all-new suite? There was even smell of marijuana in the hallway - not 100% smoke free as they claim they are maybe? Would not return for sure
I am more than impressed by this hotel. It says 2* but this is most definitely a 3 or 4 star. Rose the night manager checked me in quickly. I got a jacuzzi bedroom suite and everything was above what I expected. I’m only in town 2 nights. I travel for my business my room was clean, fully stocked with towels and personal care items, mini fridge, microwave in room, 50 inch I think flat screen with cable channels, can also cast from your phone to the TV and play music. Everything was clean, parking safe and secure. There’s a huge mall within close walking distance with several restaurants and the hotel also serves food and they have a bar. Complimentary breakfast was awesome with real food. Convenient location to the freeway. I will come again and again. Thank you
Discusting carpets and elevator. House keepers carry leaky bags of trash through the hallways. Rooms were not cleaned during covid and the online pictures are fake. Completely different hotel on outside!!Charged 180 a night, said it was 140 still wayyy to high i feel ripped off amd my family was very uncomfortable here!
As far as hotels go, this place is doing pretty well. It is one of the few hotels that has a bar and restaurant, even if the offerings are slim.It is nicely located near the mall, so if you need to do some shopping, it is working walking distance. The rooms are nice, I recently stayed in a single King suite. The entrance to the room is separated from the rest of the suite, and acts like an office of sorts. If you need to work from your hotel room, it would make an ideal makeshift cubicle. The bedroom was on the other side of the bathroom, so it was nice and quiet even with the TV in the front room on. The bed is nice and comfortable, and everything was fairly clean.Overall, this hotel is definitely on my return visit list.
Clean, quiet room! Comfortable bed, updated rooms, nice pool, slept great, love the sitting areas in the rooms, wonderful complimentary breakfast...lots of variety and fresh.Only dislikes was the hallway on third floor...felt creepy the first time... super long and the carpet is hideous! Also, strong smell of Indian food when getting off elevator. I don’t dislike Indian food, but maybe don’t want to smell it when staying at hotel. Didn’t smell it in the room. Also, I was never super comfortable riding in the very dated elevator.Paid online ahead of arrival. There was extra $25 charge added at some point...talked to front desk where they told me the $25 would be refunded at check out. Awaiting refund... will update.Would stay again pending refund of extra $25 blindside charge.
7/8/20I stayed here for a night during my work trip. I was greeted by the manager and provided a specific room per my request. My room was a large suite. I was more excited about the fact that the pool and fitness center was open. Also, they provided breakfast as well as various food options. During the COVID-19, not many hotels are offering anything much less any amenities. So I am very thankful for these options. I would most definitely return here again in the future.
Let me just say that we checked out the reviews before booking our stay and thought that the name Radisson would make it better than Motel 6 or Super 8. After staying the night, I would say save your money. We liked the layout of the rooms and the amenities in the room, but the carpets throughout the hotel were filthy. Our bathroom didn’t have any towels, and the door handle from the bathroom was missing completely so that one could not open the bathroom door from the inside. The worst part of it all was that there were drug deals and people doing drugs in their cars in daylight in the parking lot. It doesn’t get much better at night where people congregate at the back door in the middle of a pandemic. This has both soiled my impression of Bakersfield in general and made me skeptical of the hotel brand. I would have sacrificed the complimentary breakfast for a cleaner, safer hotel.
Friendly, professional staff. The hotel was updated & pleasant looking. The walls in the room were dirty. One wall had some type of drink splattered on it that hadn’t been cleaned off. The bathroom wall was filthy with hand prints and dirt smears! The tub Had dirt in it & had not been cleaned from the previous people. The carpet was just dirty and stained. The pull out sofa sheets had not been changed & and honestly smelt like dog. Very disappointing. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable. The rain head shower was a nice touch. Very clean and the price is good. We will definitely go back. Its convenient for shopping and dining. I cant race enough about this place. The bed was so comfortable I slept like a rock.
Desk staff were awesome! Kind and accommodating.Room was just okay. Everything was slightly worn down but clean. It was impossible to turn the shower (no tub) on without getting in and standing under the shower head. Ice cold showers are not my thing. Parking lot is a nightmare.
Positive: Theyre breakfast buffet was On point but the staff definitely made me never want to return Negative: Staff was absolutely horrible apparently my service animal was complained on by the other guest they then asked me to leave due to my service animal and tried charging me way more on deposit because of my service animal which is co mpletley against the la
This place was a hotel previously as you can tell upon entering the elevator but it is decent. Good deal for families. The full breakfast is actually alright. The space is bigger than most hotel rooms with two TVs in a standard suite. Good water pressure. Water efficient toilet. Free sodas in the evening. Decent seating area and a small outdoor patio. Pool with water feature and hot tub. There was a cockroach in the room. I expect to see them in Bakersfield everywhere but who knows how many more have been spotted in this building
We asked for a handicapped room with roll in shower. When we called we wanted to make sure before we went. She reassured us. We got there paid. Carpets were dirty all the way down hall and inside room 216.Hallway reeked of weed. People yelling in their rooms. And we finally get all the way to other side tired as hell trying to wheel over carpet in my wheelchair. And its dirty ..beds arent made and no handicapped shower.
I was impressed by the elegant and budget-friendly nature of this hotel. It hosted a relaxed and easy atmosphere and provided a pleasant overnight stay which will surely warrant future visits. The place was clean and the decor was simple and stylish, much unlike some of the other minor competing chains that supply motel housing locally.
I don’t get why many people stay at this hotel 😐 it was noisy and I could hear stuff outside and in the hotel.I wouldn’t stay here again because when I came into the room, the bed sheets had stains. Near the tv, it had ants. There was dust in every corner of the room and also the lamps. There was also stains on the couch and on the curtains. There was something white near the full body mirror 🥴. The AC was so loud I couldn’t really sleep. The good part was the tub 😍 it was my favorite and I loved it and also the bathroom was clean but not that full body mirror. I don’t recommend this place to anyone 🤷🏻♀️.
The check in process was quick and easy. However when we pulled in people were lurking in the parking lot. Made you feel worried that your belongings would be there in the morning. When we got her key and got off the elevator on the second floor it smelled like a marijuana dispensary. The whole floor smelled like weed, Even our non-smoking room.
This place should better be called a motel 6. Anyway we got into our room you could litearlly see pet stains in the floor with the ligts out, we check the Air Conditioner it was so dirty we didnt even want to touch that, there was black stains in the bed sheets I bet they dont even change the sheets the desk had dirt on it, this place is a zero. And also I bet they use their own employees to write their good reviews.
Found a used makeup sponge in our room, along with two different housekeepers cards. Considering that businesses are supposed to be doing more to promote cleanliness, this is disturbing. When my husband went to ask for pool towels, the manager and an employee were arguing about how to book rooms even when the computers say that they have not been cleaned. Honestly, my biggest issue is the complete disreguard for how gross this is. My family and I left this room at 3 am because I could not stop thinking about whether the sheets were even clean.
The place is well located and clean, but the bathroom is a bummer. 1. No towel rack...at all. 2. No counter space...at all. Sink big enough to bathe a small dog however. Some man whos never met a woman designed this bathroom. On the upside, best mattress ever or this would-be 3 stars.
The building seems to be outdated but the remodeling was done well. The room was spacious, clean, and the beds were comfortable.I decided to stay here on the way back to the bayarea from the Vegas trip and Im very happy with my decision. The breakfast has good reviews so Im looking forward to have some after this review.Update: The breakfast was awesome and all of the staff was friendly.I would definitely recommend this lodging to anyone!
Covid information is not updated online! Only 2 adults per room then theres an extra charge of $50 an adult (up to 2 kids free). The pool and hot tub are closed. The hot breakfast is not served. We had to ask if they had to go bags and they only included a couple pieces of fruit.
Look good on surface. I had to pick up something I dropped under dresser .. Dont know what all was under there, wish I would of seen it night before 😲 And a pillow case had something on it??? Oh and if you like smell of weed 👍 Glad we did not have the complimentry breakfast! Lady at desk was very nice and bed very comfy..brought it up to a #2 Need some real house keeper who care about the place and make it a place they are proud of 😉
I honestly havent read the comments but wonder why its such a high rating.Cons - scary dark long hallway layout.Half the rooms have small windows that wont open and cant see out of, felt claustrophobic like i was in Europe.Had my room changed by the nice receptionist to one with a window.Windows need remodeling, the carpets omg are they stained and awful.Breakfast hot eggs had meat, should always have a non meat option available. My towels were damp, a couple lightly stained. The tissues were shoved back into the box.The toiletries didnt match, like they were picked up from other hotels. The lotion felt like it was pre-used, when i opened the top, under the cap already had lotion on it.Pros- receptionist kind enough to change my room after she agreed to refund me, then found a room.Decent breakfast.Decent fitness room.Loved the pillows, and decent comfy bed.
New place. Nice, clean rooms. Solid breakfast, snacks and a free beverage from the cooler during Manager Hours (5-8pm). Pool is small but looks like fun. Rooms have USB plugs as well as normal plugs. Lots of places within walking distance, like movie theater, Target, and several restaurants. Only complaint was the location of the AC. The room was split into a sitting room just inside the room door and the bedroom area with a small hall separating the two areas. The AC unit was in the hall to cool both areas, but had to be cranked to actually cool either room. The bathroom was directly across from the AC though, making it particularly cold. Overall, great place to spend the night and would stay again if stopping in Bakersfield!
The room was very nice but the bathroom needed some attention. There was mildew in the corner where the bathtub meets the tile. The toilet seat was coming off. The sinks faucet was loose. The TVs were easy to work using the remotes and the room was like a mini-suite so working in one room at the desk was easy while my spouse slept in the other room. There were out;ets on each side of the bed above the nightstands so it was easy for both of us to charge our phones. There was also an easily accessible outlet just above the desk.
I liked the place I found it cozy . The decor was nice . The breakfast was good . It had a pool and gym I didnt get to use them since i stayed overnight. The lobby was nice I did like the cute sitting room that had a fireplace and couch and books to read and a T.V I would stay again. The staff was nice
So I had work in bakersfield and got there later in evening almost morning the day of checkout... Sore looking forward to the bathtub we paid extra for , but when we got there we were told that there was no parking in parking lot and that if we did find one we would have to move vehicle by 6 am or they would tow it! Because of maintance that was planned. Although when I purchased the room the amenities say on site parking. When all was said and done we didnt stay because we didnt trust vehicle not in same parking lot or even where we could see it , with the area we were in decided it wasnt a good idea with all work tools and material in truck. And I couldnt get a refund even tho the lady at desk said she wouldnt charge my card being bad I never even seen the room.
I think the Country Inn by Radisson is doing great job of keeping its good quality of service in every hotel. I had really great experience with them twice already. And I would made it my primary choice if they are available in the place I visit in the future. My favorite part was their room and bathroom which I am really picky about. Not only the place is neat and clean, the style and color really give me a comfortable and relax stay.
The tub wouldnt fill with the stoppers provided. The phone didnt work. They didnt have a crib available even though the website said they should. All that side, we went to sleep only to be woken by two separate lights in the bathroom turning off and on at will... For three hours with numerous attempts to stop it. We finally decided to leave and I was trying to take a quick shower. The lights went out on me this time and I was plunged into total darkness, able to leave the tub, and unable to signal the sensor no matter how much I bounced around the shower. Ive never been chased out of a hotel room before, but this was a crazy first! The staff was apologetic and refunded our money, but it was time to move on...
The hotel was easily accessible from the highways. Registration was a breeze. Suites are very clean and modern. Plenty of towels and stuff. Beds were comfortable. The hotel employees were friendly and helpful. Parking was plentiful. This was great value for the price. Definitely will stay here again.
Everything and EVERYONE!, was ABSOLUTELY GREAT HERE!! I would really L❤️VE to give a SHOUT OUT to LUPE!!! Lupe!, I would PERSONALLY L❤️VE to tell YOU from the bottom of my❤️ THANK YOU!!, SOO MUCH!!, for taking time out of your VERY BUSY DAY to help me get my bathrobe back that I had forgotten. Thanx again beautiful Lupe for helping me with getting my robe back.!, and Thank you Country Inn and Suites for a wonderful stay!, and OUTSTANDING customer service! 👍👍Two thumbs up!
I come to Bakersfield several times a month for work, and I stay at this hotel every time. Altogether I have spent 3 weeks here. Rooms are large, clean, and quiet. Staff always manages to get me a room on the 3rd floor, for which I am grateful. Breakfast has a large variety, and very convenient when I am on the go. Any issues Ive experienced have been very minor. I will continue to make this my go-to hotel when Im in town.
Updated, clean, and comfortably-sized rooms. Bed was soft and nice. The hotel and everything in it looks brand new. Very good breakfast with hot sausages, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy. Theres a waffle maker, choice of juices to drink and the usual pastries, cupcakes, bread and bagels, along with cereal and oatmeal. Cookies are baked throughout the day at the front desk and are complimentary. Drinks and light snacks are available at 5pm. Staff are helpful and kind.
I will not stay in this hotel again! I gave it 1 star for the room being nice and big, but the bathtub was dirty, I had to clean it myself. I got a phone call from the front desk, saying that I was smoking and was told I had to leave, and I had to let them in my room to prove it wasnt me, and then I was told I can stay. I had no privacy and I paid way too much money to be treated like I was! I would take my money and go to another hotel, if you want to be treated with respect.
I am a new fan of the Country Inn and Suites. These are great comfortable rooms. There are 2 TVs fold out sofa bed. And the main beds are very very comfortable. And the morning hot breakfast is awesome. I highly recommend this hotel. And the staff is so helpful and friendly...Enjoy
I had a one night stay on a weekday. The lady at the front desk, Asha, is very helpful and personable. Asha assisted us a few times through out the evening. She was very friendly and knowledgable each time and made us feel welcome at the Country Inn. Inside, the rooms appeared very clean. The room was large with modern decor. A mini fridge microwave oven, and coffee pot (coffee, tea, decaf) are included in each room for your conveniance. An iron and ironing board are also included in each roon. The bathroom is large with excellent lighting and a large clean mirror. The toilet is not separate from the shower and sink. The bathroom is loaded with plenty of white cotton towels in varying sizes. The towels are clean, soft and white, not yellow. There were two beds in our room and both were very comfortable. They were nicely made with clean sheets and a fluffy comforter. The pillows were very comfortable and each bed had numerous pillows. Free wifi is provided along with a free breakfast of waffles and coffee or oranje juice and a free happy hour drink at the bar. A small pool and jacuzzi are located outside I had a very good experience staying at the Country Inn and Suites and will gladly stay here again. The Country Inn and Suites has earned my recommendation. Thank you for your hospitality and quality stay.
Another challenging review. They say, the first impressions are the most important, well mine here was a 1*. The receptionist was not interested and welcoming. Spoke with her mouth full which meant that I didnt understand what she was saying. Well, getting settled in, was challenging and all I wanted was for the night to be over and for me to leave. So whatever you do here, keep your expectations low so that you are not disappointed.
In the interest of full disclosure I was a vendor providing service to the management and have not stayed at the hotel, however the quality of the entire facilty is 1st class Inc the lobby, hospitality & breakfast/guest area as well as the pool. service is excellent also.
It was a nice place to stay, my family enjoyed it. The hallway is long.Only things it would be great if they would change is to have an ice machine at the front and back door. They allow pets but they only have a parking lot and a small piece of grass for your pets to walk around on they dont have a yard and they need to change that.
This is really a very nice hotel. I stayed here more than a week. Here are my reviews;-big rooms, nice and clean with fridge, tv and microwave-swimming pool and-hot tub with pool lift for wheelchair assistance-hot breakfast with a lot of variety,-snacks and freshly baked cookies are present in the lobby whole day.-The staff is very friendly and helpful.-Pets are allowed with a $10/day fee, which is okay as most other hotels did not allow pets when I checked.-Accessiblity:everything is really accessible from here. There is a big mall on the next block which is a good thing. There is a city bus junction in the next block so a lot of connectivity to the city.Overall 5 stars! I should have taken better pictures to share.
DO NOT BOOK!!! Hotel does not match the photos shown online! Our room was dusty, carpet was stained all to hell, air conditioner hadnt ever been cleaned since opening, the mirror was LITERALLY being held together by black duct tape, and our bed had dust, bugs, stains, and cigarette burns in it! Stay far away!
For the price it’s a great place: quiet, clean, and pet-friendly. The rooms are a decent size and the breakfast in the morning is adequate. The only thing is that it’s not really close to anything except the mall, so you have to drive everywhere. Would come back again if passing by!

I am convinced that this used to be a motel 6 where someone was murdered so the owners were forced to sell it and Country inn bought it, put their logo on it, then reopened the doors. The lighting is horrible, the building smells like marijuana, it is in a questionable part of town, and it is not well maintained. The bathrooms have at least been redone recently so they are clean, but I came here after a night camping in the desert and would honestly rather go back to the desert where at least I felt safe. On the plus side this place is located close to a great Indian restaurant called Indian bistro...
This hotel is very nice. The bed is comfortable, the rooms are large. There is a sitting room with a t.v. and a t.v. in the bedroom. The breakfast is buffet style with both hot and cold dishes. There is something for every diet type. Cookies are freshly baked and are in the lobby all the time. There is a lending library where you can take a book and return it at another time if you havent finished reading it.

2022-01-28This is the worst hotel I have veered stayed at in my 54 years of living. The rooms smell funky, the staff is rude, and security is nonexistent. Instead of promoting the safety of their guests, this hotel encourages the endangering of their guests. Any person can enter this hotel without a keycard. The back door is completely open and the managers do not monitor the security cameras. Because of this me and my family were robbed within minutes of entering the hotel. When trying to communicate with the manager she refused to engage in any communication. We asked if she knew the back door was insecure and she shamelessly said yes and that robberies happen before at this place too. She refused to help us and had the audacity to say to us if we wanted to not be robbed we should have read the fine print at the bottom of our confirmation email where the hotel waives all liability. I have never felt more afraid to stay anywhere and had to leave to stay elsewhere after the robbery. Not only is it unsafe but also has an odd odor and a mask less staff. Nothing good is going for this hotel except maybe their impending shutdown.

2022-02-13We arrived very late. The gentleman working was Extremely Helpful from parking our truck to letting us know how safe it was to making sure we knew exactly how to get to our room. Whether he was an employee or owner, he gets my vote for making this place worthwhile! Room was clean and quiet. Ahhhh.... great breakfast too!

2022-01-02As mentioned in other reviews, this hotel is in desperate need of a deep clean. All the floors and furniture are stained. The walls have smears on them. The shower had dirty footprints and hair. There were ants in the room, and my toilet overflowed the first time I flushed it and I had to be relocated to another room. The second room had all the windows painted over so you couldn’t see a slum property covered in garbage behind the building. Both the rooms had a strong cologne-like odor from the cleaning products and it gave me a headache. The second room smelled like it was once a smoking room. Would not recommend this hotel unfortunately. The front desk woman was very kind, though, and the breakfast was hot and had lots of options.

2022-02-03Room was clean and had no bad odors. Beds were comfortable and clean. Staff was nice and helpful, lots of smiles. The Jacuzzi and gym were on point. And breakfast was decent, although sometimes barely warm. There was a large selection of items from hot drinks to biscuits and gravy to oatmeal.

2022-05-21It was a cool! If theyd do a few upgrades it has the potential to become a 3 or 4 star hotel. I like the fact that they provide breakfast and they have a Lil mini bar in the lobby! The staff was very friendly! The location was perfect because it was by everything and I didnt have to travel far!

2022-06-04Shower/bathtub out in bedroom! No curtain! HOW STRANGE. Not safe at all to get in tub and could not bath my granddaughter. Towels are so very thin. Could see thru washcloth. Not much sitting area to eat breakfast. Front staff were courteous.

2022-05-03My husband had an amazing birthday thanks to Phylisha at the front desk. She was extremely helpful and professional. The overnight guy (dont know his name but he was Indian) was just as helpful. The staff gives this hotel a good look! 👍

2022-04-25We booked a king suit as there were 4 of us. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and there were no pillows and bed linen available in the room. Only 3 towels. We had to ask at the desk. The windows were frosted so we could not see out, which was weird. When the sofa bed was open there was no room to maneuver in the tiny suit area.Next time someone passes away in the hotel, do not have the coroners car parked right outside the entrance. The body was wheeled out of the room during breakfast, showing little respect for both the deceased and the other guests. The breakfast was poor. Very dry eggs, potatoes. terrible coffee. And the hallway stank of weed.

2022-03-26Positive: Enjoyed the wonderful hot breakfast. Negative: They walls between rooms are very thin especially when you have a door between two separate suites. The room next-door to us was extremely loud and kept the family awake into the early hours of the morning.
