The food is great, but they get so busy during lunch things start to slip and mistakes are made. First time, was a to go order, I was only given my side and not the meal. Didnt realize till I got back to work. Second time, I ordered a salad and got a sandwich. I caught it right then, but after waiting 30 min. I didnt have the time to wait for them to correct it. The sandwich was good, but not what I wanted. Great place to eat, but I would avoid the rush periods.
I cant believe I waited so long to come back - more than two decades. I dont frequent the area often or ever but just the other day I had decided to revisit one of the best tasting Italian sandwich delis that I had ever been to. That flavor though, its been stuck in my mind for this entire time. The combination of the quality meats, cheese, and bread including the dressing is unforgettable.Went in there with a friend and left with a couple more 10 Italian subs for the fam. I wont be waiting around this long again for sure.Im not sure how long ago they remodeled but such a great idea and good looking too.
I’ve been coming here for years and have never had a bad experience. Every time I am in Anaheim, I have to stop by and pick up a Cortina’s Special (my personal favorite). They have a plethora of other sandwiches that are amazing. One day, I’ll have to try their pizza 😆
I mean, its pretty good pizza. The hassle of getting it might outweigh it a little bit.I think I interacted with Cortinas differently from how locals might do it regularly. We just showed up. Parked. And I went in to order.Generally speaking, I would consider this the norm. But Cortinas is definitely better set up for you to order online and take out. And thats probably how its best experienced.I waited in line for about 15 min to order. Then waited again to ask for a rag to clean a table. We ended up cleaning our table with baby wipes because the food was ready before the table was clean.Pizza was good, we had Hawaiian. Soda was good. Id skip the garlic bread next time.Overall, I wouldnt eat there again. Maybe door dash it or something. Easier.
Im a NY Italian, my family and I visited Cortinas back in 2016. Place is absolutely amazing. Great assortment of Italian products, cookies, pastries, bread, pasta, meats, the sandwiches are off the chart and prepared foods too. Sit down service and friendly people. You cant go wrong, l would travel back to CA just to go to this place
1st time visit few months back - pizza and sandwich was good. Wait was expected as we did not order ahead of time.Tonight - ordered online - got there when the food was supposed to be ready (and it was not) - waited nearly 30 minutes more till food was ready (with ZERO explanation why it was late) - got it home (in less than 10 min since we live close) - and the pizza/sandwich were oily, salty, and cold which was total opposite of our initial experience.Quite a few customers WALKED in, ordered, got their food and left while I was left waiting...Worst part is we tipped them online ahead of time - silly me.Family owned business that seems to be losing focus on whats important - absolutely NO plans to revisit this place.
All I have to do, is JUST START THINKING about this restaurant and my mouth starts watering! This place has been here longer than I have been alive....When I was a small child, my grandfather used to bring me here to buy FRESH FETA CHEESE from the little Italian deli market right next door ((its connected to the restaurant. DELI MARKET & RESTAURANT IN ONE SPOT!))I love Cortinas!!! ❣️
It was a wonderful experience. Its not a fully thorough stock store.... of what can be expected... but the limited line of products are good and Italian. I personally loved these artichokes in this picture... price was a bit risqué.. a once a year treat...As regards the fresh cuts bar... behind tje counter service was egg-cellent!!! All staff was nice & helpful.Staff will always drive me to the ratings. Great job Cortinas staff 🛵 !⭐!⭐!⭐!⭐!⭐ ohh n them canolli.. u gotta try them... $3.00 each... try 1 at least.. I know price is up there on those 😂😂😂😂😂🤣
3 times already this has happened.Cortina‘s restaurant used to be our families favorite place to go. And still is but we have had three pizzas ordered and went to pick up to bring him home. And after opening it up we were all so disappointed. I for myself probably won’t buy their pizzas no more. Which is very disappointing. We bring our pizzas home and they are burnt the top part is dry out Harley no sauce or cheese very little pepperoni and sausage. We paid for a two topping pizza but expected more on a large pizza for two toppings instead of just a handful of pepperoni and sausage scattered and something that we would be able to eat and enjoy turn out to be nothing but burnt dried out and no good week could not eat the crust it was so hard it felt like we were trying to bite through cardboard I am so so disappointed . $22 for a large pepperoni and sausage pizza is OK but not for a cardboard make-believe .
Finally made it out to Cortinas, and I must say the food was great. Didnt get a chance to see the market, but will definitely be back.I had the penne pesto with chicken and it was all that I expected. Really good sauce and the pasta was cooked perfect, just how I like it. Also ordered the fountain drink, and I thought it was going to be your everyday fountain, to my suprise it was from Italy. Itialian soda was phenomenal. Not really a big soda person but I was delicious, and it wasnt too sweet. Perfect amount of sweetness and carbonation.
Im sure under better circumstances my review would reflect everyone elses, but I did not have better circumstances.I waited for over an hour and our food still wasnt called. So I went back to the front and inquired as to how much longer are food was going to take, only to find out that the cashier never took our ticket to the cooks. We were given a cold lukewarm at best pizza to tie us over.Someone from the cooking staff then try to offer me a beer to appease me however I live in non-alcoholic clean life so that did nothing for me. Rest of my food was rushed out in 5 minutes which did not taste freshThe rest of the food was rushed out within 5 minutes nothing tasted fresh and was thoroughly disappointed all the way around..Given the fact that we drove from Huntington Beach because we saw a tick tock video real and we thought this would be a great interesting place to eat, Ive learned my lesson to stay in Huntington Beach
An amazing place for Italian. The deli is killer, not to be missed. However, the one weak spot is their pizzas. How they could combine all the parts of a pizza and end up with such a bland and tasteless product is beyond me. Happened several times. Have anything on the menu but try elsewhere for pizza.
Love love love this mini Italian Market. They are truly all nice young folks which is very surprising these days. It is always a great experience. The cold cuts and bread is awesome and other selections in the store are just great. Best honey I ever had is sold there and I know honey and this is as pour and as delicious as it gets. Just love that place
Needed a really nice and delicious Italian food. Time to hit up a place that not only sells groceries, but also sells tasty Italian food (dine in or takeout, and cooked to order). Cortinas is located in the Anaheim section (near Little Arabia) on Orange Ave near Brookhurst. First, I checked out the grocery area just to check things out which Ill be buying later on. I can see this place is great for shopping for Italian stuff. I love it.Then off to the dining area. They serves some really good Italian food. I ordered a 6 inch Chicken Italiano sandwich. While I wait, Ive checked out some posters like Goodfellas, and Casino. Those are the best movies Ive ever watched. When I got my food, Its pretty decent. The sandwich was pretty good. Chicken breast was on point, very moist, tasty, the sauce they put on the sandwich was amazing. Cheese was very cheesy (great stuff). The cost of the sandwich was about $8. Not too bad for a first try. Service here was great. Very friendly people they got there. I will update this review as soon I come back for other goodies.5 stars for now.
Was looking for an Italian grocery and this place did not disappoint. Combo deli and market and closer than driving all the way to LAs Eataly. They have loads of pasta choices, authentic Italian staples, canned goods, desserts, breads, cheeses, you name it! Fresh, frozen and packaged pastas for days 😉
At least 4 lines for online order, walk in order, online pick up and walk in pick up on thr restaurant half. On the store half, there are many delicious Italian desserts. We tried the original cannoli. So good! There are also ham and cheese for slicing sold by pound as well as many jars of jams, pastas, sauces, and candy! Ill definitely visit again soon!
Delicious food! Fast and friendly service. More of a restaurant than the Orange location that appeared to be more of a deli. This location has a cool east coast sports vibe with jerseys on the wall, televisions broadcasting sports, it serves liquor and pizza which the other location doesnt. More of a local, casual vibe. I ordered the turkey sandwich, eat quickly since its served with mayo so bread can get soggy and also a pepperoni pizza which the kids really enjoyed.
My coworkers and I are so happy we found Cortinas. We tried the meatball sandwich (I ate half of it before I remembered to take a picture), penne di pesto with chicken and focaccia, ravioli with meatballs, Cortinas special sandwich, cannolis, and tiramisu. I recommend the penne di pesto with chicken and focaccia, the meatball sandwich, and, above all, the chocolate cannolis. We were tempted to just eat chocolate cannolis for lunch. They are fabulously delicious. We look forward to going to Cortinas when things get better.
Ooooowwwhhh boy....this market will bring out the foodie in you. So many delicious products to take home! One of my top 3 Italian Market favorites for sure. I grabbed a caprese sandwich and chips and ate outside at the high tables. Cant go wrong on sandwich choices... So fresh and perfectly put together! I love the caprese but also enjoy any of their sandwiches with prosciutto...nom nom .. go next door and grab some goodies and definitely a variety of cookies to share. Highly recommend whether with a date or shopping solo.
This is a hidden gem. The market has nothing but imported Italian goods. Youll find entire leg of Parma ham. They carry boar head brand lunch meat. In house made italian desserts and bread. The pizzeria next door is also incredibly good value. The new York style pizza rivals any slice from the big Apple. The pasta and sandwiches uses fresh lunch meat from door. Pasta and pizza sauces made fresh in house. This is my go to spot from now on.
If youre looking for authentic Italian pizza. This is THE spot! With a large variety of fresh ingredients, each pizza can be customized to your hearts content. Their chicken alfredo pizza with broccoli is amazing, I never really cared about it until I had it here. These pies are on the pricier side of things, but you get what you pay for. Honestly its not much more than papa johns but it beats it in flavor and proportions. I will continue to get my pies here.
Love this spot, its a great italian/european market on one side and pizza place next door. The market is awesome, they have alot of really good stuff, a deli counter and fresh bread daily. The restaurant side is also amazing, the sandwiches are freaking brilliant and i havent tried yet but the pizza looked beautiful. Ill def be back soon
This place has excellent sandwiches and Italian food. I get the eggplant parmigiano and it comes with garlic bread. My pescatarian mom gets the veggie sandwich. Please dont park at the right side of the building, they hate that because the parked cars cant get out. They open at 11am and closed on Sundays.
Went to the market side. Trying out the frozen raviolis and a container or marinara sauce since Im not impressed with the raviolis near me. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also picked up a variety of cannolis and macaroons. If all works out this will be a regular stop to or from Angles games.
Really love their sandwiches. I got to try their Pastrami and Roast Beef French Dip sandwich. They were both delicious. I personally liked dipping the pastrami sandwich with the au jus. It was the best combination. I also enjoyed the little market that is connected to their kitchen. They actually sell whole truffles. They are not easy to find, and Im extremely excited I have found a place that sells them.
At recommendation of my good friend OC-Boy I decided to try the food at this place and I really enjoyed the flavor of the pastrami sandwich, the canolis were deliciousThe staff members were friendly and professional. Definitely Ill come back.Thank you OC-Boy for the recommendation!!
It was Christmas eve and extremely busy, they have the biggest selection of lunch meat. All kind of Italian delicasies, great selection of Italian wine and cheeses. Everything you need for a nice Italian tinted evening. Their pizzas are also to die for. Too bad the shelves were half empty, good for them though. I found what I needed for my own homemade tiramisu. The reason I give 4 stars is that I think this shop is too small for the clientele they have.
THE BEST authentic Italian style Deli in Orange County! The meats are all top quality (Boars Head, etc.). The bread is made fresh daily. Every kind of specialty Italian deli meat & cheese you can imagine along with all those other hard to find Italian items necessary for a true Italian meal. The Pizzeria offers top quality pizzas and made to order subs. My favorite is the `Cortinas Special’ with dry salami, cotto salami, capicolla, mortadella, provolone cheese with their own vinaigrette on a freshly made French roll. I live quite a few miles away, so I usually have one there and order one to-go for lunch the next day. The pizzas are like nothing you will find this side of Italy. The crust is fresh and not too thick, but not too thin. The toppings are all fresh, high quality meats and veggies with generous amounts of cheeses right from the market’s deli case. Take some home; it’s just as good the next day!
I called and asked if they had a hot vegetarian sandwich and was told yes I drove to and tried placing my order from the parking lot and then they told me the sandwich was cold..... I am not sure if they miss understood me or if they didnt understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan doesnt matter I wasted gas and time for nothing.
Cortinas is a great market. We bought ingredients for pizza to be made at home. Their fresh dough is the best and doesnt take much effort to prepare to bake. We also purchased fresh pesto and frozen desserts in glass containers that you can use again. Ordering a pizza is easy. They also have tasty sandwiches and salads.
Good God, this place is amazing! This place is hidden a bit behind a major street but I think it makes it a hidden gem! Their sub sandwichs are super tasty, especially since they use boars Head meat! I have yet to try their 🍕 Pizza but seeing the other customers eating theirs made me jealous that I didnt get a slice! Oh, oh, the soda they serve: Stubborn, is the best small lable brand Ive ever drank, I think their cola is better than Coca-Cola in my opinion!
IG: @koganei037Ive been here a couple of times already during weekday lunch time.It is always crowded during lunch so usually I come by 11am to get parking and tables.Their food is amazing, specially their signature sandwich and their meatball sandwich. Pizzas are no joke... they look and taste so good.Their soda machine is super fancy, since they serve craft soda, not your typical Coke or Pepsi product. The only reason they dont get 5 stars is because parking is hell. It appears to only fit 15 to 18 cars only.If you are planning to come here make sure to come early or after lunch hours... otherwise you will be fighting for parking space.
Went to pick up our cannolis on 12/23/20. Line was already around the corner of the building, to the back at 9:30 a.m.! Cannolis were delicious. Service was overwhelmed by the crowd, and they just started! Id hate to see how it was going to be on the 24th! However, they were trying their best. Ordered the cannolis a week prior, that was something else. It felt as though it was an Abbott and Costello routine of Whos on First Not sure if its the new generation not paying attention to you, or, who knows. In the end, the order of the cannolis was correct and we had a nice Christmas with our traditional cannolis. I have heard from other customers, while waiting in line, that the service here has gone a bit downhill...I hope thats not true. The food is still good, so come on down to Cortinas for some good Italian eats!
Picked up a variety of items, fresh cheese, pasta, cookies. Dr browns cream soda, macaroons, while waiting for my New York Pizza. Well I just didnt think to check the expiration date on the pasta, but I should have. It is 3 months expired. Product may not move as fast in a store like this versus other stores. Something to think about.
Thought Id try a local pizza eatery. bout a mile from my house. I wish they delivered. Not bad, not really good. Kinda eh. So Im here to critique the pizza not the service. The crust wasnt crispy, a little rubbery and hard to chew. The meat topping was tasty. The mushroom topping not so much.More like black specks than recognizable pieces of mushroom. The toppings didnt reach to the edge, scrimpy. It was 28.00 for a large.A lot of food for a not so picky eater. I could work around the crust although I ate at this pizza place in Indiana called Tomato Pie.A friend works there and gave me a tshirt.A cracker like crispy crust and different cheese.Sorry, better. My take? Maybe a small town pizza place is better because not so busy on a Wednesday night and does and better job.I might have been a little hasty.Upon review, the reheat has made it phenomenal.Hot sauce and ranch dressing, yum.Baking the pizza yourself might be the answer!By request. Its not production line pizza, more personalized.Oh. the service was just great. Very nice personnel.
There are different hours for the restaurant vs the market! It opened at 11am on Saturday. Im just oblivious and probably missed it. Parking in the lot is basically not going to happen unless youre here early or lucky.About 5-10 minutes of opening theres probably about 10 people waiting for orders and flooding in of call and mobile orders. The service was friendly and the sandwiches came out warm and tasty. Got the pastrami and russo, about $13 per sandwich, they were pretty big and loaded with the cold cuts.Im not going to sugar coat it, my mind wasnt blown, but it sure hit the spot. But this is clearly a beloved local deli and market and theres no reason to give anything other than a 5 star review.
Being from the east coast, I have found it difficult to find a good pie in California. This is the best place to get pizza in California. Also, the meatballs are really close to what my Italian grandmother would make. I highly recommend getting the meatball sub with Light sauce as well.
Food is good, but parking is difficult and service is hit and miss. Lately, they are very busy and don’t have a fair an organized method of taking and servicing Togo orders since the lines for Togo and ordering are adjacent to each other. I waited 10 minutes while two ladies took phone orders, then another person just walked in and when one girl turned to attend to us, she asked who has Togo orders. The other guy had a huge order which he had to pay for while I waited. Manager is obviously not aware or doesn’t care. I won’t come back
Hooray! Real Italian food that doesnt cost an arm and a leg! The sauce is what seals the deal -- I havent had sauce like this since I lived on the East coast. Its not sweet and its nice and thick without too much astringency. Rich, full flavors! The shop is great, too. Its not big but its got all the right stuff -- stuffed peppers, cannoli, pastas, olive oils ... they even have Dr. Browns (alright, not Italian, but still warms my heart). Love this place, and Im thankful for it!
Love this place!! Been eating here for over 30 years!!! Great homemade Italian food, family owned thru 3 generations, still going strong. Top of the line customer service, GREAT catering reasonable prices, all around extremely delicious Italian and American food. Gotta try it!!!
Cortinas Rocky Balboa is quite possibly the best sandwich in so cal. A take on a Philadelphia roast pork , think Johns roast pork in Philly (James Beard award winning). Tender pork loin, provolone, broccolini with flavorful au jus. Their bread is tremendous!! All their sandwiches are delicious, the meatball is a must . Get there ASAP !
I was really disappointed in my experience today. Ive never had any issues and always left satisfied. They hired a new girl to help up front. Long story short this new girl wasnt paying attention and lost our order. After 30 minutes, we finally asked what was going on. She didnt have an answer and didnt even care to fix it and she was rude... she couldnt even take accountability for her mistake. The other girl had to take over and clean up the new girls mess. We left hungry with no food.. I expected better. I know its hard to get decent staff, but come on.
Oh My Gosh, its been awhile since Ive been here and now I know its been way to long between visits! Ordered my fav... Meatball sub with sauce & cheese, add bell peppers & onions. Cant decide what makes this the BEST sub ever. Is it the crunch of the crusty toasted roll? Or maybe the meatballs? Must be the sauce? I cant decide which-all I know is this place rocks Italian food! Pick up a quart of meatsauce or lasagna next door in their market to take home for a quick dinner meal at a reasonable price too! So delish I forgot to take a pic! Will return & post one soon.
I absolutely love this place, small supermarket with authentic Italian products, imported and also homemade there like the pasta, breads, cookies, desserts, sauces, etc.The restaurant side serves delicious pizza, pastas, salads. All very good.Be patient with parking as is always crowded.
My sister and I went in and ordered the Italian White Pizza to go. We wanted to eat in but its very small inside and no seating available😭 There are a few outside tables but no shade and it was HOT outside so forget about that idea. Parking can be a challenge too. Now about the pizza...it was absolutely delicious!!! I was hesitant about it until I took my first bite...crunchy crust, ooey gooey cheese, nice bite of broccolini, and a good chew overall. The amount of ricotta was great! I have to admit I was surprised that I really liked it lol I would say this again! This place is very busy so if you decide to go maybe order ahead. They do have an attached market which my sister liked but I was on pizza pick-up duty and didnt check it out personally. They do have a self serve beverage station that looked good!Overall a good place for good food!😁👍
Well the foods good but the young people that work there have an attitude problem. One time I went and they made fun of my name for seemly no reason, I have a very common name. The last time I went, suddenly everyone went on break and it was like they didnt even want to take my order. Finally some young looking girl takes my order tells me that theyll call me when its done. So I went to go wait for my order and then this lady that had already ordered comes back in. At first I thought its okay because they messed up her order and she was there before me, so theyll fix it and shell leave. But instead they ended up taking forever to fix her order and then they start chatting it up afterwards. The lady doesnt leave, idk if she knows the owner or something. Then I realized that 20 minutes had passed since I ordered and my order wasnt ready yet. Which I thought was just ridiculous because I didnt order a big order, just a couple of sandwiches, thats it. So I go to ask the girl who took my order and she said oh itll be three more minutes, so I go sit back down. Three minutes came and went, still no food was ready, I go back to the side window and suddenly its like nobody knows why Im still there. So I try to explain that the girl told me three minutes like ten minutes ago but they just stare at me blankly. Finally someone from the kitchen chirps up that they are wrapping my order. They finally hand it to me about 30 minutes from me ordering it. When I get home, I unwrap one of the sandwiches and the bread is half burned and half raw, with very little meat in it. And they gave me a pickle that somebody had taken a bite out of along with it!!! The other two sandwiches were also as badly put together as mine was. 40 bucks for three sandwiches and a whole lot of attitude. Not worth it in my opinion.
This place is a 5 plus stars. If your looking for authentic Italian food this is the place. If your looking for Italian ingredients to make your own for this is the market to come and get it. Its alittle pricey, but so worth it. They have desserts, meats, cheeses, noodles, cream sauces etc. And next door is their resturant. Best pizza youll have in the world. Once youve had true Italian food, theres no going back to regular food. So enjoy yourself a little piece of heaven.
Absolutely delicious Italian food here. Decided to get takeout from someplace new and definitely chose correctly. My family got 4 sandwiches and we basically inhaled them. They were that good. The bread, the meats, the veggies all are superb. Also a big shoutout to their amazing staff. Even though they were clearly slammed they were gracious and very helpful. Well definitely be coming back for more.
I used to just deliver for my friends here. Decided one day to try it out myself. Havent looked back since. Parking is a pain, lines are long, but you can at least place an order onlineThat being said the pizzas have a perfect cheese-to-sauce-to-crust ratio. If its your first time I would try out the white pizza. Sandwiches have some of the best rolls Ive had, I would order either caprese , fireball, or any of the parms.
Pepperoni Pizza was amazing! The little shop was quaint with different desserts such as Gelato Popsicles, cookies, cakes, fresh bread. Love the variety of Italian products. I dont think Ive been eating real cheese at other pizza shops. The cheese on Cortinas pizzas are so stringy and delicious, thats what real cheese looks and tastes like. Not a fan of the fettuccine, I dont like the texture of fresh-made pasta noodles, too soft. But everything else Ive had gets an A+.
I really like the food but I dont like the service and service is everything. I had an online order that was set to be ready at a certain time when I go to pick up my order it apparently wasnt ready the guy says 5 minutes I kindly wait for my mane to be called all these other names are being called 30 minutes pass by nothing I go to the counter and ask hey is my order ready the girl goes check the boxes and grabs my order n Im like wow its been just sitting there getting cold but I keep it to myself and before she hands me my order she asks for the last name adding insult to injury because I watched as others came up n just got there orders no problem
The best and most authentic Italian food in Orange county. The Katrina cartoon is classic sandwich is fantastic their pizzas cannot be any better anywhere. Very authentic! They pay attention to every detail. They use the highest quality meats and cheeses. Its a 45-minute drive from where we live, but well worth the drive.
As always the market always has what you need. If you want fresh bread make sure to either go as soon as they open or you can also pre order over the phone for when you need it! The small Italian market offers cold cuts, fresh baked loaves of bread including flavored bread loaves. Oils, vinegars, sandwich toppings such as pickled pepper, and veggies. Gourmet bakery items like cannolis, tirumusu, chocolate cake, and fresh baked assortment of cookies! The only down side is theres no produced sold her but stater Brothers is directly across the street. Check out this market you wont be disappointed. While youre there head over to their small restaurant. Food is amazing and they deliver super fast. Try the go off peak hours!
I went there with a friend who had never been. I had been several times and always got the meatball sub, but this time we wanted pizza.we got there about 1:30 pm and ordered a large pizza with everything. Also I asked that the tomato’s be diced not sliced. We waited about 30 minutes and they called our name. The pizza had sliced tomatoes instead of diced and we were told it would be another 30 minutes to get what we ordered in the first place. We took the pizza and as we ate it, it got worst. First the crust was burnt on the bottom and not completely cooked on the inside and it was very hard to chem because it was burnt so bad. Next, there was little to no sauce on the whole pizza so it was really bland. After spending $40.00 on pizza, I would recommend sticking to the meatball sandwich! Pizza was so bad that two of us only ate 1 piece each and we were very hungry so we went next door to 7/11 and got a 6 dollar pizzathat was much better. I recommend staying with the meatball sandwich.
Im handicap and its very painful to get around, but a friend of mine, about three weeks ago, brought me some pizza from Cortinas. And Ive been craving it so bad that I dragged myself out today and bought me a large pizza. It is expensive but it is very good quality and very delicious. If you go, visit the market place next door. GREAT FOOD.
Ordered a sandwich on the phone that it should take 20 minutes as they informed me, going there waiting another 30 minutes Plus, have to begg them for a Napkin, and a Fork to use for several ready salads I bought too, waiting outside 15 minutes twice then go inside again to grab the sandwich that it should be done longtime ago wait in line twice again, and deal with couple ignorant employees. Is this a good service, I dont think so !!!
This is perhaps one of my favorite places. Period. The staff is amazing, even though it is usually pretty busy. Especially on the restaurant side. Everything Ive eaten here has been a 10 out of 10. No joke.I particularly like the Genoa sub. The place is very clean and comfortable. The deli has very fair prices and the deli workers are very good at their jobs and professional. I literally have not one bad thing to say about this place. If you are in the area, you need to eat here.
I love this place. Everything on the menu is delicious. It doesnt matter what you order, youll enjoy it. I love the store next to it too. Really good pastries, and everything else. I never had anything I didnt like. I go here very often as it is near my house, and Ive never been disappointed with the food. The service is very good too. Everyone is super nice. The dine in has a fun atmosphere but also family oriented. A great place to take the family
I have never been here before and I am going to make this place a must. Wow, I purchased almost one of everything from the freezer. Last night we made pizza from scratch and I will drive the twenty minutes to get this $1.29 pizza dough. It was fabulous. The lasagna was the best I ever had. Dont buy the cookies if you are supposed to take them home. I ate them in the drive home. This place has the BEST ITALIAN TAKE OUT I HAVE EVER HAD.
Really nice. A lot of options for such a tiny place. My reason for a 4/5 is the pricing. I would probably give it a 4.4, but thats not possible. My husband and I have been to a lot of Italian markets and although they are all expectedly pricey, this one seemed even a little more than others.Plus, we wanted to taste the house olive oil and they said we couldnt. They can easily have little plastic tasting cups and have let us try some.
Very disapointing experience 10/21/2021 around 11:30 am , excellent job for the kitchen excellent food and very fast, but very bad for the front people, i ordered a pizza kitchen made it and front guys kept it for like 25 min on the inside counter before giving it to me......same with a bunch of other orders, kitchen did it but front guys were keeping the food on that inside counter not giving it to people .....the only time food should sit there is when are multiple people at one table and you need to give them the food in the same time
Cortinas never disappoints. The orange location and Anaheim always makes for reliable lunch. The Anaheim location has a deli attached, so it has the potential to be better than the orange location but parking SUCKS. Really hard to get in and out because it’s so busy. Sandwiches are worth it, so order ahead. Pizza has great reviews too but I can’t walk away from the all American.
Got a supreme pizza, and a pepperoni and onion pizza. They were both delicious, and very big. The sodas there also came in interesting flavors, and were very good. Only thing, at one point there was a table just filled with a bunch of peoples trash, so I dont know if they have a cleaning staff, or if youre supposed to clean after yourself.
Terrible service, rude employees and just so so food. Totally disorganized. Called in a Pizza and mistakenly went to the line that said on-line orders stood in line for 20 minutes and was told sorry you need to go to another line waited in that line for 30 minutes so the pizza was cold, coagulated cheese on it by the time I got it. Also ordered with 3 toppings and had barely any toppings on it. Good customer service would have been, sorry you are in the wrong line, let me take your payment and next time you need to go to this other line. Way better pizza at Wise Guys with locations in Orange and in Yorba Linda.
What can I say, been going here for thirty years.. Im old friends with Pat. And saw the boys Patrick & Jimmy grow up to take over. The food is always Fantastic and being Italian I love the way they decorated the walls with great Films .. Casino, Godfather, Goodfellow ect. Go earlt here you wont be disappointed. Mike S.
Food is great, however they gave us the wrong food (2 salads) and we ask to cut the pizza in 10 or 12 slices, they cut it in 32 or more thin slices, some of them were so thin as a finger, maybe a message that we shouldnt ask again. Sent a message to their info email address about this and never got an answer back. Extremely disappointed.
I saw pictures of family eating a great looking sandwich. Luckily the wrapper was visible and it said Cortinas. It wasnt hard to locate by a relatives home and I finally had an opportunity to visit this gem of a market and restaurant. One entrance is the market and deli and the other side is the restaurant. Both will lead you to excitement and taste sensations! I was looking for a place to get a charcuterie tray and fresh meats and cheeses for picnics and found it. The restaurant next door was an added us and such a pleasure to enjoy some fresh meals. I cant wait to.visit again for some sandwiches. Did I mention the craft sodas? Try the Orange - definitely not strong and syrupy orange soda but flavorful and lightly sweet. Amazing! Enjoy!
The sandwich I ordered was delicious! I’m a pescatarian so I asked the hostess for recommendations and she provided an awesome one. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the sandwich. I’m sure if you tell them what you like they will point you in the right direction. 😉👍🏾
Well, Im assuming if you come here you already know the secret. But if youve never been, youre a fan of sandwiches and you happen to be in the area, then this place is a must. The Russo Special is amazing, the Fireball is even better and thats not all, they have just an extensive selection of sammies. Their bakery is amazing too. Weve been coming here for years, the whole family is in agreement with how delicious the food is.
The food here is really good, impressed with the pizza. It does take a while, but they make it to order and I would say its worth the wait. Had the veggie sandwich, was not bad, it did need a little seasoning or some cheese, but over all it was good. Prices are a little high, but not ridiculously. Cashiers were ok, kind of seemed they wanted to rush the line, no smile, no receipt was handed after payment. 5 stars if they can get their cashiers to work on that. Will most likely be going again.
Ordered online for pickup. I was emailed that it would be ready in 45 minutes. Fine, they are probably busy as usual. Went to pick it up at 37 minutes. Pizza was ready, not sure for how long, but it was barely warm when I got it home. A lot of dough, almost no sauce and toppings only in the center. If that is how you like it, this is the place for you.
I had The Fireball sandwich and the bf got the Rocky Balboa. They were really good! Bread perfectly toasted and cheese melted inside. We also ordered a Combo pizza! Its was good but be prepared to wait since they make each pizza up to order. Pizza was good, needed a tid of more sauce but it was as really good. Crunchy crust and fresh ingredients all in harmony. We went to the market next door for goodies and we brought home 2 cannolis. Chocolate it the way to go!!
You know, usually this place is great. But today was a different story. After ordering online, I arrived at the designated time to pick up my order. When I got there the place was packed. About 30 or so people were all packed in there. I spoke to the employee there and he told me my order wasnt ready and it would be another 30 minutes more. With the current social standings of the pandemic, I didnt want to wait that long a a festering hot box. I told them that I wanted my money back and ordering online was pointless. Not to mention nearly everyone in there was in danger of getting covid.Suddenly, my order was ready...?Cortinas, get your act together, I understand that things get busy sometimes, but what happened today was ridiculous!
The best pizza around Anaheim! I dont know how to describe it accurately...nice crispy crust, fresh toppings, cheesy cheese...you wont regret it. As an added bonus there is an Italian market attached to the restaurant. They have lots of delicious baked items and a frozen food section of there own items from the restaurant.
Fantastic Italian food. Dine in or to go. Huge generous serving, long lines and low prices. This is an order at the counter place and everything comming out of the kitchen looked good. The food is well presented, delicious, tasty and highly recommended. The service is extremely good. The setting is very smart, well laid out and good for any occasion.
Good food! Reasonable price. (This is a covid 19 safety review: I think its idiotic that even though everyone of the staff in the kitchen has a mask on their face, its useless if they dont use it properly. A few of the staff just wear their mask as a chin warmer and let their mouth and nose fully exposed. Gross!)
We love this deli and sandwich shop. It is the best for Italian treats around. We always try at least one thing different. Staff is great. Must be a great place to work cuz every one is happy. Sausage, deli meats and cheese are for sures. And if course, cookies. Trying the pistachios cheese cake. Looks amazing.
Overall 3, food 4, timeliness 2, price 4, organization 3. This was my first takeout order. I should have ordered online. The pizza and two cold sandwiches took 34 minutes. The young staff exhibited all of the pluses and minuses youd expect. I note their good ratings from most reviewers. They deserve another chance.
Best Italian food in Orange County!!!Ive been going here for over 30 years! The Lasagna is a 10+. Best sandwiches ever! Homemade bread, fresh cold cuts, cant beat them. The Cortinas Special is my favorite sandwich. The Pizza is delish as well. The Deli is great too. Love the homemade Cannolis!

2022-04-15I am originally from New Jersey, and it is so hard to find an Italian Market in Orange and Los Angeles Counties. I was doing research on new restaurants, bakeries, and markets to try, and I came upon Cortina’s Italian Market. I happened to be in Anaheim, so I stopped there. The Good: They have a great selection of Italian canned goods, homemade sauces, deli options, baked goods (pastries and cookies), and bread. It reminded me of an Italian market I used to go to when I was younger. The cookies and cannolis had great flavor and they were fresh. The prices were reasonable for what I got.The Bad: Their parking lot is too small. I was lucky and found a parking space. I went on a weekday, but I can imagine how jammed it gets on the weekend.I rate all restaurants, bakeries, and markets by whether they are worth driving to in the future. I definitely think Cortina’s is worth a repeat visit, and I look forward to trying some more things the next time I am there.

2022-03-29Amazing sandwiches, amazing pizzas, amazing deli, amazing pastries and desserts, amazing wines, amazing everything! The always-packed parking lot is a testament to the popularity of this small but mighty tasty restaurant and market. Ive been a fan for two decades now, and I love bringing first timers here, witnessing their eyes light up with one bite, and hearing them murmur, Mmmmm!

2022-01-04Love Cortinas! Pizza, sandwiches and an awesome deli all in one. It has been a go to for a long time. The sandwiches are wonderful creations, best eaten fresh at the restaurant. The porchetta is delicious, the Cortinas special is filled with all the best italian meats and the peppers and sausages is spicy in all the right ways. We usually get a pizza with pepperoni, sausage and jalapenos, its always perfect. I dont think Ive ever had a bad pizza from Cortinas. Perfect crust, generously sauced and plenty of cheese and toppings. Finally, the deli is definitely one of my favorites! Well stocked with Italian staples, its wonderfully varied and has meats, cheeses, salads, and baked goods. There are also other things like homemade sausage, meatballs, sauces and dressings. What I love getting there as well is the pizza dough, fresh bread and fresh olive oil. You should absolutely stop by if you have the chance, everything there is worth it!

2021-12-07Our first time enjoying Cortinas! Although weve passed by it several times and have heard great things about them from everyone! We actually got catering and they send individual meals to everyone who ordered which actually came with a lot of food, no skimping out here! The meal came with an awesome sandwich, I ordered the Italian sub which was delicious, A great pasta that wasnt too acidic and not too oily, just right, and a cookie I did not expect, must be an in house special but it had the right amount of chocolate and walnuts. They also threw in some chips, which always complete a proper sandwich meal. They are known for their meats and the sandwich I had definitely expressed that. I hope to visit the store some more in the future!

2022-02-26A very popular Italian restaurant for the locals the locals in the area. There theyre phillyy cheesesteak sandwich is one of the the tastiest Ive tried. Their pizzas are thin crust and served in classic Italian style. The place gets pretty crowded during lunch, but the servers are very friendly. Highly recommended you order your food ahead of time either by phone or online. Otherwise it will take about 20 minutes for them to prepare your meal drain the busy lunchtime. There is also a deli market right beside the restaurant. Great place to look for Italian ingredients. Sadly, no espresso served 😞

2022-05-28Wow... Been eating here for a while but lately the quality has just taken a nose dive. I cannot in good faith recommend this place anymore. The last three times weve ordered here they have messed it up every time. And when we have called back they have never in good faith attempted to make it right.I attached the most recent pizza we ordered 5/27/22. It was supposed to be a new York pizza under their specialities however its thick and burned to a crisp....

2021-10-21Hidden grocery store and restaurant. Very homey, authentic with good finds. A bit expensive compared with some other stores where you can find similar products , but okay for a quick stop.

2022-04-21Wow wow wow. The Italian bread on the Pastrami sandwich is perfect. The Pastrami perfect. Order ahead online or by phone this place gets busy and you can see why. Everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious. Clean place, well staffed, polite and very organized. Im dying to go crazy in the Italian market next door. A beautiful experience.

2022-07-19This review has is for the restaurant. HUGE disappointment. The food is bland. We ordered the lasagna, a sandwich, and a pizza. PASS. Unless you have 25 minutes to wait for a sandwich to be made, PASS. Save your hard earned money. Most disappointing was the staff. Curt. Rude. I watched the cashier roll her eyes at a customer because he had asked for his order to be slightly modified. After his 30 minute wait, they did not get his order right. The kitchen is incredibly slow. Disorganized. Contrary to their COVID precautions in the notes, table tops were dirty, there crumbs and food particles scattered all over the dining area, dirty trays were left on table tops.I witnessed families sitting for over 25 minutes for their orders. Children. Elderly. It took over 30 minutes for our sandwich to be prepared. The lasagna was over cooked. Soggy pasta. Pizza was bland- I am a New Yorker, I know my pizza.AVOID. This place may have been a gem in the past, but those days are long gone.
