The mattress/bed was indented so bad on one side, only one person could sleep in the middle of the mattress. The condition of the mattress was so bad, I cant believe you would allow it in a room.I received a call from customer service after informing them of the mattress. Apparently according the the person I spoke with, it was known, others had complained and they cant replace the mattress because the order was delayed. I was told I would get some kind of compensation for such an uncomfortable experience. I accepted this and never heard back from customer service, according to my credit card company, no type of refund, nothing that was offered to me.
We stayed at the resort last week and had a lovely time! The staff is great, very helpful, and eager to please. The resort location is super-convenient - near the beach as well as the Hotel Del Coronado and close to lots of shops and restaurants! The many resort amenities include cruiser bicycles which can be used for pleasure and/or transportation around town. The weather was perfect, and whats not to like in Coronado? It feels like a slice of heaven!
I had an enjoyable stay at Coronado Beach Resort. Appreciated the daily coffee. The hotel is convenient to beach, restaurants, shops, walking paths. My suite was very clean and well-equipped with kitchen essentials. I slept well every night. I was there on business but plan to return for a vacation.
As soon as we entered this charming establishment we felt welcomed. The service was outstanding and sincere from check in to check out. It was very nice having a permanent and secure parking facility; street parking in Coronado can be challenging. The Hotel location is ideal: close walk to beach, best restaurants and cafes, window shopping, and grocery needs for a long stay in your room. The room will have every item you could possibly need from the bathrooms to the kitchen, especially for long stays. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and recommend it to everyone.
Honestly one of the most wonderful vacations I have taken inside the states. Great staff, actively making sure your experience is memorable and positive. One of the best beaches in San Diego area. Great restaurant on site. Rooms were beautiful and clean (and not hot!!)
What a wonderful place!! The staff is very professional & very helpful. Located directly across from the Hotel Del Coronado on Coronado Island in San Diego, its a short walk to the beach, restaurants & the shops. My room was ultra clean, modern & beautiful. There was a balcony with a patio set right near my room that guests could enjoy & we did. Also the jacuzzi on the rooftop with the panoramic view was enjoyable. Its such a lovely place to visit that you dont want to leave!
We absolutely loved our stay at the resort. We had stayed a few months earlier at the Coronado (which was lovely) but having a one bedroom suite, just across the street from the beach, and way cheaper was amazing! The front desk staff was so accommodating. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Well be back.
Beautiful resort. Walking distance to beach. Delicious restaurants across the street. We rented a 1 bedroom suite however it really want a 1 bedroom, it had a curtain separating the room. Only real compliant was the housekeepers walking us up at 8am. They were talking super loud in the hallway.
Great place. Super clean and an amazing location. Underground parking is a life saver. There is bike parking also. Location was right next to great restaurants, beach, Hotel Del Coronado, silver strand. The room was adorable with a murphy bed, which was actually very comfortable. Our room had a small kitchenette with sink, fridge, coffee maker. Would be a great place for a long term stay. You wont be disappointed here.
Coronado Beach Hotel was the Best StaCation we could have had. The proximity to the beach is perfect. The rooftop sauna and spa were wonderful with a spectacular view. We didnt use the rooftop bar b q, but others did. The rooms are spacious with a well stocked kitchen. The amenities are awesome. We loved using the bicycles to ride all around Coronado. The gym was available whenever we wanted it. CBR is close to food and shopping and we had the Most relaxing time.
Our family of 4 had a 4 night stay on the 3rd floor in October and have no complaints. Everything was clean and sealed for our use. Front desk during arrival, departure, and during our stay (3 different individuals) had excellent customer service and made great mai tais! We enjoyed the 2nd floor lounge with ping pong and pool table, seeing Ms Cody the parrot and the morning coffee/tea in the lobby. We are so used to our rooms not getting serviced until we leave at other places, but they cleaned our room on our 4th night and we were leaving the next day. We felt so bad but again, so nice!! Even the toiletries they provide are great quality.Everything was conveniently close by and we walked most days. I attended a conference at the del Coronado and it took me 4 min to walk across the street and get to the conference room next to the lobby. We also walked easily north on Orange Ave for breakfast at Claytons and Villa Nueva and Henrys for lunch. Theres also an ice cream place next to Henrys and another at hotel del Coronado. Dinner at Blue water Grill was good too. The airport is close by and we took a short drive to the San Diego zoo. We also walked around the Ferry Landing. We did drive to Loews Coronado since you can use their facilities during your stay, but they were not that impressive as near the location of the CBR.Im happy we stayed at Coronado Beach Resort rather than across the street and instead of San Diego proper. When I return to the area I would definitely stay here again!
I really love this resort! Ive been coming since I was a kid when my grandparents were owners and now annually with my mom. Normally I would give 5-stars but man, the number of guests, owners, and staff (blonde curly haired woman in lobby) who arent wearing masks, despite it being required, is frustrating to say the least!! I wish this was *actually* being enforced instead of just saying it is. The housekeeping & maintenance crew has been amazing and theyre always in masks/following protocols, makes me feel at least somewhat better!
In the bustling city of Coronado is this gem. Our suite was just as we planned. Comfortable king bed. Kitchen with everything we could need. Bonus patio with tables and chairs to sit and watch the world go by. For a weekend away, we parked in the secure parking garage and never used the car the entire 2 night stay. We were able to walk the town, walk to view sunsets, and bike where ever we wanted. The jacuzzi on the rooftop was small but fine. Due to covid restrictions we reserved a time thus it was only us in the jacuzzi and we enjoyed this. There are many restaurants / bars/ breakfast food places to choose from within walking distance. It was a fabulous weekend.
The Coronado Beach Resort was amazing. The desk staff was exemplary, and went above and beyond to make our stay great. Michael was especially accommodating. The complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas, towels were MUCH appreciated. The location is fantastic. We have already recommended the resort to friends and they are booked and ready for their visit.
We love Coronado Beach Resort and have been coming here for years! The quality of our vacation is always consistent and we love being across the street from the Hotel Del and in such close proximity to the beach! Another favorite amenity, there are so many wonderful restaurants within walking distance! Coronado Beach Resort makes for an exceptional and relaxing vacation!
We loved the location of the resort, however our rooms were SO NOISY. Literally did not sleep all night long due to street traffic. When I go away on vacation, the one thing I look forward to is sleeping in - not only did I not sleep in, but I didnt sleep at all. The property should look into sound machines for all the room that face the street or upgrading the windows to block out sound.
This hotel was very clean, and comfortable. However, you are right next to the busiest street in Coronado, so it’s LOUD. If your window is open you’re listening to loud traffic the whole time. Being super close to the beach is a huge plus, but again, the noise of the traffic... We did like the set up of the room, the extra beds are definitely a plus. The small kitchen and big fridge made breakfast in the room possible and was a great start to the day. The location is great! If only the hotel wasn’t RIGHT next to the street.
Safe protocols are followed and lots of extra steps are taken to show how guests are protected during a stay here. Even each remote was sealed in a protective new plastic sleeve and beach towels were encased in a zipped plastic bag. Housekeeping only entered if requested AND no guest was in the unit. Very well done!!
We stayed here for a week in September. Everything was great. We went to the orientation expecting pressure to buy, but we’re pleasantly surprised when nothing was even brought up. Eric was marvelous and full of information. We were able to go on the city walk which was excellent and with the brigantine restaurant and Miguel’s right across the street, well? It was all good.
We have lived in San Diego our entire life and the place was beyond our expectations. Right across from the Hotel Del Coronado, views of the Bay in some rooms, great upstairs Deck with BBQs and view of the Ocean and Hotel Del. Very quiet, comfortable rooms with plenty of space in our 1 Bedroom. . We would stay here again for sure.
The resort has been recently remodeled and is beautiful. The rooms are clean with a fresh look and nice details. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area, making excellent recommendations for dinner and places to see. The bathrooms are clean and bright, and the shower is roomy so you dont bump elbows into walls. The only drawback is the noise. Being on the beach side provides better views but lots of traffic noise so keeping the window open at night is out of the question.
This is a really fun place to stay. It is right across the street from the historic Hotel del Coronado, with lots of little stores and restaurants on the streets nearby. An easy walk to a nice beach. This is not a big resort, but they make you feel special with lots of little events in the lobby that give you chances to mingle with other guests. A donut dash, wine and cheese, and margaritas and chips are just a few of these events. We are not owners here, but we look forward to being able to exchange into this resort again soon.
The Coronado Beach Resort was an awesome experience for my wife & I. The location, staff, room, & price was great. I reserved the suite for my wife as a Christmas gift to get her away from the kids & I so that she could get some much needed alone time to relax & recharge. I ended up staying the first night with her per her request. This was the first time we have stayed there or anywhere in Coronado & we loved it. One thing that helped me choose them over their competitors is that CBR does not try to nicklel & dime you for every little thing. The resort has taken every step to meet the pandemic safety procedures. Look forward to staying there again in a few months.
I checked in NYE 2018. From the airport I made my way to the resort by cab, walking, ferry, then walked the rest of the way some more. That was a good time adventuring around town on NYE. I called a little ahead of time to re-confirm Id be arriving shortly to check in, and the male that answered confidently and proudly said, that of course my room is ready and waiting which was reassuring, so I took my time and checked in finally around 6pm. The room was spacious and luxurious, clean, and cozy. Very comfy bed and as my time there progressed I grew fond of the two balconies and would leave the sliding glass doors open for the refreshing sea air. Location is excellent, right across from the Coronado Hotel and very near some great restaurants and bars. Theres a drugstore, super market, barbers, and liquor store all within a 10 minute walk. Important for my stay, and luckily, there are bus stops going to Imperial Beach and Downtown San Diego right in front of the resort, which I used almost every day. Some of the days I was there I didnt feel like going anywhere and really enjoyed the immediate area walking around and exploring and was quick to find some new favourite places to eat and drink. I really grew fond of the area and was sad to go, I feel I really got a glimpse of the community there, and met a lot of people military and otherwise. I particularly enjoyed my room, the nearby restaurants, the Coronado Hotel, the beach, and the ubiquitous military presence - seeing the ships and their personnel, and jets, and helicopters flying around - which is a daily occurrence there Im not used to seeing. I was worried that not being near downtown, I might be missing out on all the fun, but I believe staying in Coronado offered a more unique and genuine experience of the San Diego area.
Coronado Beach Resort is just flat out amazing. Super clean, updated and a skip to the beach. We enjoy everything about The Hotel Del without paying their ridiculous room prices. Loews hotel access is awesome as well. You honestly just can’t beat the weather, beaches, restaurants, a nod and a hello from a military man/woman, the Cabrillo National Monument, the Ferry and all the other incredible surroundings.
The Coronado Beach Resort is the perfect place to be in Coronado! The rooms are beautiful and fully stocked. The service is impeccable. The location cant be beat. Right across the street from the Dell and one block off the beach lends itself to hours of entertainment or peaceful walks. I love it here!!
We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back. It’s a great location that’s within a few minutes walking to the ferry and many other restaurants along the boardwalk. We had a few issues with our room (ants, plugged shower drain, dead door battery) and the grounds (broken hot tub and gas fire pits) that is always disappointing to have to deal with but staff has been quick and courteous. Overall still a 5.
The suites accommodating for a family. We have a 2 bed/2 bath. The staff is outstanding and will take care of your every need, just ask!. Sometimes you dont have to ask, they anticipate and take care of things in advance. They must be happy working there because the main staff is the same. Weve been there 3 of the last 4 years in February. We love it!! 😍
The hospitality at Coronado Beach Resort is unsurpassed (I have used RCI extensively, so I have fairily vast experience with its Gold Crown Resorts).Liani M, Eric and Jennifer were the staff members with whom I had the most contact. My compliments to the Human Resources Department that had the good sense to hire them. Housekeeping and maintenance folks must be great, too, because the results of their efforts was evident. The location is hard to beat--right across from the Hotel Del Coronado on Orange Avenue. Restaurants abound from the resort to the ferry landing, the beach is an easy walk, a little theater and lots of little retail shops are nearby. The bus stops right at the corner and a free shuttle takes guests to Lowes, which has a larger spa and pool available to CBR guests. No car needed for this vacation. I hopped onto a MTS bus ($1.25 for seniors), took a $5 ferry to Coronado, and then took another bus ($1.25) right to the resort. (If it had been anything but Sunday, I could have gotten there on two buses without the ferry.)Guests and owners here have amply opportunity to get social. The deck on the third floor has the best view of the top ten resorts in Coronado according to a tourism blurb I read ahead of time. It is lovely. Chairs and tables are adequate and there are two large barbecues available. Theres an owners lounge (open to all guests) on the second floor with a big screen TV, pool tables, games, etc.The one-bedroom unit I had was very comfortable. There was a small balcony off of the living room and another off the bedroom. Both rooms had flat screen TVs and the living room has a gas fireplace. The kitchen had ample cookware and dishes, a dishwasher, coffee maker, blender, etc. Cosmetics such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion were provided and replenished upon request. The same was true of the coffee, tea, cocoa and popcorn. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, trash was emptied and towels exchanged--but daily maid service is available (if requested) at no additional charge. Beach towels are exchanged by the front desk as used. Bikes, beach chairs and various other equipment is loaned at no charge to guests.Although the resort is about 24 years old, the room showed no wear and tear. The decor was attractive and modern. There is a $25 daily resort fee (plus tax) for nonowners, but I felt the charge was reasonable in light of all the wonderful services, supplies and activities offered.I had wanted to stay at this resort for some time. It did not dissappoint.
On the main street of Coronado, so restaurants, museums, beach, shopping and more are all within walking distance. Abbreviated kitchen in our spacious (for California) 1bed/1bath apartment. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff and Ms Cody (the talking parrot) has been there to greet guests for the 12 years we have been going. A delightful place to stay!
The In - Laws have a time share which they generously share with everyone. Which means we are here quite a bit.It is a great spot. 1, 2 & 3 bedroom rooms with a small kitchen large living area. Love the 2 bedroom layout. One room has a door and its own bathroom. The other has an accordion divider and the bathroom is just across the kitchen. The rooms are bright clean and Comfy. Oh did I mention the balconies which face the water (night time is magic) and a fireplace.Enjoy...
The toilet backed up twice and flooded the suite once. 3 times we had to call the front desk. It was my birthday and we had to leave to get the room cleaned. This was a great inconvenience for us since we couldnt get ready and be on time for reservations for my birthday. In addition we had to check out early and I had to get my kids ready on the balcony off of the hallway.
This place is more like a dive than a hotel. The lobby is tiny, the halls smell, the rooms are ancient, and poorly furnished. The staff is rude. One of the problems is that these are condos, not hotel rooms. There are so many better selections that are better and around the same price. You can do much, much better that this place.
We own 3 weeks of timeshare at this place and the time goes by in a heartbeat. It is a magical place with lots to do on the island. You can also go into San Diego, especially to Balboa Park which is a real gem. The people who work here are so nice and Incredibly helpful. They have all been here many many years so that should tell you something about the management. The building was constructed in the seventies so it is very comfortable but not super modern. Its a little tired like most of California. The surroundings make up for it. Coronado is every bit as nice as Nantucket or Marthas Vineyard.
Staying on the first floor with the closest room to the elevator and all the foot traffic and noise that comes with it was not very pleasant. On other stays at the Coronado Beach resort we have stayed on the third floor and that was great....this stay did not compare at all to the others.
Beautiful place, friendly faces. Close to amenities art the beach. You can feel safe staying and walking around the general aarea of this little town. You can borrow bicycles, and ride to your hearts content. (In the allotted time) Ride down to the restauraunts ( we do this every time, its a part-time) one of my favorite resorts to go to hands down!!!
If you are looking for a resort a great location, close to the sand but which wont hurt the budget, look no further than the Coronado Beach Resort. The property is gorgeous, the staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful, and the property has been recently remodeled. There is gated underground parking, an elevator which takes you directly up to the lobby or to your room, and theres even a rooftop lounge with patio, spa and some rather nice views. Two things particularly impressed me about this resort: first, the beds were incredibly comfortable. When I travel, I often have difficulty getting a restful sleep, but not here. The bed was just perfect, and to my surprise, there was a swan made from towels on the comforter, much like what one finds when on a cruise. The second thing which really stood out for me about my stay was how enthusiastic-to-serve the employees are. I rode an elevator with a gentleman named Ramon. He asked what floor I was heading to, pressed the button and said, You know, in January I will be working here 21 years! If you need anything at all, my name is Ramon and I am here to help you. He pointed at the embroidered name on his shirt as he told me this. I didnt need Ramon for anything, but I sure knew that had a need emerged, I had an advocate on the property. The rooms, too, were wonderful. There was new, patterned carpet, nice drapes with the extra layer for darkening the room, thick crown moulding and baseboards, and I had a fireplace and a patio with views to Coronado Bay. There was a kitchenette area with granite counters, a stainless steel refrigerator and thankfully for me, plenty of electrical outlets to charge my devices. The flat screen TVs on the wall worked just as I had hoped and were connected to DVD players. I was here for the National Association of Realtors 2015 conference and was very pleased that I enjoyed a restful sleep and had everything I needed during my stay. Im looking forward to returning to this resort with my wife and kids very soon and highly recommend this property.
A great place to stay in Coronado! The rooms are very clean and the staff takes great care of you. Heres a gym, and on the roof is a hot tub and sauna that overlook the hotel del Coronado and the beach. They have activities that they offer through partners across the island to make your stay more eventful, easy to plan, and at great price points.
When you walk through the front doors into the lobby you are greeted with stunning vintage woodwork. They were decorated for Christmas when we were there they had about a 20-foot Christmas tree hung upside down from the ceiling of the Fourier. Lots of really nice shops for trinkets , souvenirs , Fine jewelry and fine clothing. Beautiful swimming area. Lots to do very family oriented. A must-see
We had reservations to spend our 45th anniversary there. Unfortunately, my wife had a heart attack 5 days before we were to arrive. The resort refused to refund our accommodation, although the airline and car rental gave us speedy refunds. Unacceptable customer service.
Nice place, great location, easy to walk to eateries in Coronado, close to beach and the Del....AND access to Loews Resort ammenties is included (including free parking there too and in and out priveldges)! Rooms and facilities are clean, staff is nice and helpful, and there is a game room with pool and ping pong tables! And a parrot named Cody in the lobby. Free coffee, water, and news papers too!Overall, its a STEAL FOR YHE PRICE YOU PAY!Highest ratings!
This place Rocks! Right across from the famous Hotel Del Coronado. Make sure you ask about the little extras like, free bike rentals and boogie boards.By the way my RCI Time Share access gets me there for less than $165 per night (1 bdrm condo). To inform those of you not familiar with Coronado (Perspective across the street its about $500 per night.
I stayed a week in March. Rooms are nice but nothing to write home about. Sofas &b chairs are a litte dated. Room service leaves a lot to be desired. I put out my service now sign but no one ever came to service my room. One day housekeeping knocked on the door and told her Id be out in 10 minutes. 4 hours later when I returned, they still had not come. The second day I returned to my room to find the dishwasher running with 1 coffee cup in it yet there were plates & glasses on the coffee table un touched. My bed only got made 4 out of the 7 days I was there. Service at the Motel 6 is better. The one shining star was Brandon at the front desk. He was helpful and went out of his way to accomodate. Good Job Brandon. I was told on my last day that housekeeping does not change rooms every day. I have never heard of such a thing. The cheepest of motels will come in and refresh your room on a daily basis. Someting is wrong here.

2022-05-30We had a wonderful time. The location was perfect and resort had nice extras like coffee in the lobby every morning and different snacks or activities daily. Covered and gated parking was really nice. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. Bed was comfortable and loved having extra blankets and beach towels available. The roof top spa was clean and hot and perfect for soaking in the evenings. There was some issues with noise from the room above when they walked and the family next door letting their young child play in the hall but our room faced the parking lot and we heard no noise from outside. They had free bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas to check out which would have been nice if it had been sunny during our stay.

2022-04-08The location of the resort is definitely five stars as it is right next to the Hotel Del. Service was also excellent, but what was not five stars was the room.My husband and I are local and I had originally planned on cooking most of our meals there. Luckily I checked the amenities beforehand and noted that there was no oven and only a hot plate. I had to adjust our plans and there was barely enough counter space to use the hot plate and my husband had to prep at the table. We were also both working remotely and the only place to really put two laptops was at the table. We made it all work and we had a really nice week at the resort!

2022-05-24We were amazed at how nice our suite was when we first walked in! Not sure if I liked where the bathroom was located though! The staff really made the room and the hotel look refreshingly clean. Beautiful location and beautiful hotel! This definitely will be our “go to”place when we visit our adult children who live near by !!

2022-04-05We enjoyed our weekend stay. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the resort. We loved the history and vintage ambience. We loved being across the street and such a short walk to access the beach. Close to shopping, restaurants and bars. Would definitely stay here again.

2022-03-21At the Coronado Beach Resort we received excellent customer service at a prime location just a few minutes walk to the beach. It is also walking distance from excellent restaurants, shopping, and close to the airport. Our 1 bedroom unit had a large refrigerator, plenty of newer silverware, dishes, and glassware so we were able to eat in whenever we wanted. The rooftop patio and hot tub was clean and lovely. I would highly recommend the resort for your stay on Coronado Island.

2022-05-17Great location! And the folks at check in are so nice and helpful. We got a studio and the bed and pillow were a tad on the uncomfortable side. That’s all we could get at the time. The rooftop patio has a sauna, small hot tub and 3 (I think) BBQs plus some table and chairs. The Del hotel across the street is doing some major construction though so was a tad noisy especially at 8am. We are late sleepers so try to get the other side if u can. They have a lovely parrot in the lobby and have lots of planned activities & drinks & popcorn which is nice. Oh and you can visit another resort that has a huge pool and nice restaurant which is a bonus.

2022-04-11Older property, but the rooms were nicely updated and very comfortable. The amenities were great. You can’t beat this location. Walking distance to everything. Clean, quiet and very nice. Would highly recommend.

2022-03-19The unit had no window in the bedroom. It had no door to the bedroom, just a curtain. There is no stove only a hot plate and microwave. No oven. We had no view from our room, just a fence. Very disappointed. This was not up the our timeshsre’s standard. We love Coronado!

2022-05-02Loved this resort! stayed here through airbnb and it was the best decision. very clean, accommodating and loved the free bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas. staff were super pleasant especially Erick and Maeve at the front desk! Definitely a great location as we were steps away from the beach, restaurants, shops, etc. Definitely would stay here again!

2022-04-06The hotel is in a great location within walking distance from restaurants, shops, and across the street from the beach. The staff was friendly and quick to respond when we needed something. I would definitely stay here again.
