Amber, my leasing agent, has been super kind, patient and helpful throughout my out of state move-in experience.Coral Bay has everything already thought out when it comes to the needs of tenant’s, they have instructions to refer to when moving in and you can pay rent right online. The apartment complex is quiet, clean, and friendly. The pool and picnic area is huge and there is plenty of room to enjoy the amenities. One huge plus is there is more than one laundry room. The laundry rooms are located near my apartment and I don’t ever have to wait for a washer/dryer.
Nice Location and Nice pool and Hot tub. Older Apartments. Maintenance will probably be called a lot since things constantly break. Mold will grow around the windows. The parking is absolutely horrendous. We did nice cleaning and still did not receive our deposit back.
WE LEFT!! Have lived here for 4 yrs albeit with MANY complaints. The constant breaking laundry facilities and machines. They are located outside the units and it’s a far walk, only to get there and at least 1 washer and 1 dryer are broken if not all of them. Then you need to trek to find a room that has one that’s working. For the high rent that we pay, THIS IS ABSURD!. There have been complaints made and reports that the office is getting them fixed but for almost 2yrs NOTHING has really happened but more machines being broken, bathtubs and sink clogging up. We got tired, we have moved. RUN!!!!!!
Read the reviews. They beg you to do a review after you move in. Literally, beg you through emails and phone calls to leave a review about your move in process and to mention your leasing agents name who helped. But the office upper management is beyond neglectful and incompetent with the most simple things such keeping up with our paid/shared amenities like our laundry facilities. They can’t even provide us with any kind professional communication, especially when asked to just provide simple timelines when facilities will be fixed and paid amenities will be available to use. Melissa S. the assistant manager has lied to me stating the facilities being cleaned and have completed necessary repairs and she has walked the property herself to see it. To the point where the manage Ly B. the Office Manger had to go and walk the property herself to see her own assistant manager caught in a lie to the residents. Ly reached out to me and apologize on her assistants behalf. We’ve put in multiple maintenance/service requests since the time we’ve moved in May of 2020 for our closest laundry facility only having 2 of 4 washing machines in working/usable order. It’s been 16 months and still to this day there are only 2 of 4 washing machines in working/usable order. I’ve reached out to Melissa countless times regarding this issue and asked for the most simple communication of a timeline when it will be fixed and to keep me updated, this most recent time was on 8/4/21, but like always I have not heard anything back, this time being a month later now. It’s a shame the management here is so neglectful and incompetent with such simple things like keeping the paid and shared amenities in working order. On the plus side the landscape here is nice and the apartments is close to the 5 and surrounding areas. There’s a whole lot of negatives about this place you will come to find very quickly. Look elsewhere to rent.
After a whirlwind apartment search in San Diego, partially conducted from the east coast with a fast deadline, the staff at Coral Bay were extraordinarily helpful, easily accessible, and wonderfully efficient in our application, leasing and move in process. Our family is extremely grateful for the prompt, friendly, and helpful customer service provided by Doris, Jayme, Amber, and other staff members, relating to questions/issues both big and small. On move-in, the apartment was clean, updated, and exactly as we expected. I highly recommend this patient, professional, and communicative leasing office staff at Coral Bay.
Our move to Coral Bay was made super easy by the wonderful leasing agent, Doris. My roommate and I were very desperate for a lease and had been couch surfing for about a week. When I called Coral Bay to see if there were any 2 bedroom apartments available, Doris answered and scheduled us a tour for that same day. By the next day we were signing our lease. She made the move in process very quick and helped us every step of the way with what we needed to secure the apartment. Excellent fast and friendly service!
Apartments are beautiful. Area is nice & convenient. Dog friendly is a plus. However, the parking (or lack of) is a constant issue, the laundry rooms remain either filthy &/or have broken machines, & the lack of actual assistance with that from our leasing office is a joke. Also, our outdoor amenities, such as the tennis & basketball courts still remain closed, despite several requests to open, & when asked about reopening, they have responded with vague answers & zero timeframe as to when anything will be fixed. Beyond frustrating. Look elsewhere…
These are older apartments and so not perfect in appearance, and have a few flaws, but the location is fantastic! Walking distance to Sprouts, less than a mile to the bay, minutes to the beach. The location is so good that this is the third time we have chosen to live here over the last 25 years (we move a lot). If you come to check these apartments out, be sure to ask for KATE - she helped us get into our new place smoothly and professionally during the pandemic. In our experience, the office staff is really helpful. Especially kudos to Kate!!
Amber was the person who helped us with renting our apartment! She was very thorough to explain all of the costs and amenities and was really sweet through the whole process. We love the dog family community at coral bay also, it really helped narrow our choice to choose this complex :)
The floor of my apartment was collapsing under the weight of termites that were destroying the place and the washing machines haven’t worked in months despite numerous requests to fix. Staff are useless in responding to maintenance requests and careless with your personal information.
Julia is an excellent agent. She made the process of moving from the east coast to the west a lot smoother than I expected. She answered allof my questions and was extremely polite and sweet. Ask for her if you are looking to lease an apartment here. Would highly recommend her.
The only good thing about this apartment is the location, otherwise have had nothing but problems. There is not enough parking spaces for the amount of apartments, so you will end up having to pay $85/mo for a garage. Utilities are constantly being shut off (water and power) with no notice ahead of time. Laundry machines are frequently out of use and take months to get fixed. No matter how much you clean, mold is a constant issue in the apartment. Also, the construction noise while working from home is unbearable. People who work in the office are very friendly, but really do nothing to resolve issues.
I (Shivam Parimal) lived at Coral Bay from October 2019 - October 2020Pros:- Very nice location- Maintenance requests were always fulfilled very quicklyCons:- Parking situation is terrible. There aren’t enough spots so if you arrive home after 6pm, you’ll have to park on the street and it could potentially be up to a mile away from your apartment. You can get a garage for $85 per month which is kind of a rip-off.- The walls are paper thin. I could literally hear my upstairs neighbor snoring constantly.- When I moved in, the apartment was infested with ants and spiders. They were crawling out of the bathtub and out of every little nook and cranny in the apartment. Because the whole place is carpeted it can be hard to see them.- People steal your packages from your doorstep constantly.- If you ignore all of the above concerns, the apartment itself is okay. It’s certainly livable. But the management is delusional about the state of the apartment. They give you a place with cracks on the walls/ceiling, cracks between the siding of the wall and the carpet where bugs crawl out of, damaged window blinds, and then when you move out, they charge you for these defects that were there before you moved in. Do they think they gave me some luxurious apartment? When I had my pre-inspection before move-out, the maintenance guy told me that my apartment was in excellent shape and that it looked like I’d just moved in. Considering that it was ant-free when I turned in my keys, I’d say I returned it in an even better condition than I found it, but I only received $300 back on my security deposit. I kept your apartment in great shape and it’s unacceptable for you to retain my security deposit for repairs that were needed before I even moved in.- Management is writing fake reviews. The 5-star review you see from Amber Ofcharik? She works there- she’s a leasing agent. They also ask you to leave good reviews when you move in, hence many of the 5-star reviews.Unfortunately, I was unable to visit in-person before leasing and I needed a place ASAP, but please find somewhere else to live if you can.
Terrible management from the office. The restoration on the apartments are bad, the paint started peeling off 2 months into our move. Theyre also horrible to the tennants. Its the day after the 4th of July, a lot of people have the day off, so they decide to close the community pool and the gym with no heads up. The parking situation is also terrible. You get a parking pass but that doesnt mean anything as there is no assigned parking and 90% of the available spots are in the streets. The parking lot that they do have is also inconvenient and they dont even tell you about it.***Update. They never reached out to discuss my complaints ***
Looking at moving. I called the leasing office and had spoken with Amber. She was very professional and great to talk to. She took her time to answer my questions. Ambers manner was calm and professional. The apartment location is very close to the local freeways and shops. If you are looking to move, here ask for Amber! She is great to deal with! 👍
I moved into Coral Bay almost 2 weeks ago. It was a hard decision to move from my previous neighborhood, but I got tired of living in old beach cottages with no amenities. There are TONS of amenities here and the apartments are spacious and refinished beautifully. I love my new apartment and want to thank Amber in the leasing office for all her help with getting me situated. She went above and beyond and did a GREAT job with my move in!
Pros:-Big windows and lots of natural light.-Our unit had an upgraded kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops.-Big pool and nice gym-Walking distance to Sprouts and a few restaurants. Close driving distance to Mission Bay and the 5.They ask for reviews and get rewarded for positive reviews, so keep that in mind when looking at 5 star reviews from people who just moved in.Cons:-Very noisy. Thin, squeaky floors and lots of street noise like motorcycles, sirens, car alarms. Too loud for me to work from home and interrupted my sleep a lot.-Not enough parking. I sometimes had to park a 15 minute walk away.-Things broke a lot (but they did fix them quickly). Our cabinet doors kept falling off the hinges and the windows popped out of the frame.-Security is iffy. One morning a homeless person was sleeping outside our front door. We called the security patrol and they told us they are not 24 hours and it was their off hours so they wouldnt do anything. We also had random people try to open our door at night. Sometimes multiple times in one week.-Communication with the office is inconsistent. They responded quickly to maintenance requests. Anything related to money forget about it. When my dog died they wouldnt believe me and it was very difficult to get pet rent taken off. When we moved out they charged us a $50 non-compliance fee. I had to ask what that was for and they said for not having renters insurance, but we did have renters insurance.
I worked with Doris during our move in process and she was absolutely phenomenal! She was courteous, professional and very welcoming. She made sure we understood everything and was very quick to respond to all our questions. She ensured that we had everything we needed before we got the keys but was never pushy or impatient. She was amazing! We havent been living here for long, but I already love the amenities. The pool is awesome, the other tenants are pretty laid back from what I can tell and all my neighbors are quiet and courteous. The dog run is awesome and the location in general is just great - minutes away from fiesta island and mission bay park. I have only had an issue with parking once so far because we got back at 10:30 pm, luckily after driving around for a bit, someone pulled out and we were still able to park somewhere pretty close to our apartment
I knew Coral Bay was a great choice when apt. hunting, the size of the units, location. Its all relative and parking is tight all over the beach areas at night. I was worried it might be too young of a complex to fit into, nice looking, fit, working young people with big dogs and nice cars, but I was made to feel comfortable right away. Leasing office was phenomenal, super sharp women who take organizational skills to a new level!!!
EDIT: used to be a fan of this complex, that was until they decided to call in tow trucks to patrol the parking lot at midnight looking for cars to tow. Mine was one of them, and the towing company conveniently offers a “special discount” for residents of Coral Bay. It’s a clear scam in which both parties get a cut.Doris was a great help when moving in during difficult times with covid. Some of the amenities are beginning to reopen, including the pool and hopefully gym soon as well. Amazing views of the San Diego bay and it’s nice being so central in a large county and close to freeway access.
A good place for dogs. I loved how much greenery was around the apartment. Prices were pretty good, deposit was extremely low and they were pretty fair with what they took out (though I am still waiting for the money back for my parking pass), unlike some other shadier companies. The apartment had some minor issues that I didnt bother to call maintenance about, but the one time I did have an emergency it took them two days to take care of it, and even then they just used a temporary fix that had to be fixed again a few days later.
We absolutely adore Doris in the office! We needed to move out of state, but loved our stay here. The views are incredible. The ammenities are clean. The office and all staff are so helpful. The monitored security services made me feel very safe. Our 2 bedroom was so cute and we loved the layout. We highly recommend living at Coral Bay!
I just moved in a couple of days ago and Amber Ofcharik made it super easy to do so. I had a couple issues within the first day or two. The first night I noticed roaches and the second night I came home from work, went to take a shower and the bathroom was flooded from the sink leaking as well as the sink in the kitchen was leaking underneath. As soon as I called maintenance there was someone at my place within 10 minutes to try and fix it. I had also mentioned to them at that time about the roaches and the following morning (on a Saturday) I received a phone call first thing letting me know that they are having both issues addressed Monday morning. Throughout all of this Amber was really helpful and seems happy to help with any questions or concerns and follows up to make sure those concerns are taken care of.
Awesome gym, very bright apartments and close to everything. Do yourself a favor and ask for Jessica from the leasing office, she was so sweet and held my hand the entire process to make sure I had everything I needed. My move in day took less than 30 min. Love it! Great job Coral Bay staff!
Doris is amazing! My boyfriend and I moved in a few days ago, and Doris has been so welcoming and helpful throughout the whole process. She is very knowledgeable about the apartment complex and surrounding areas, and has been very supportive. She made us feel comfortable and confident in making the decision to move here. The company is very lucky to have her!
I have been living here for a couple of months now and so far so good! The apartments are kind of old but maintenance has been quick to help with any tickets I put in. Parking is also tough but I rented a garage not too far from my apartment so I dont have trouble anymore. When I first moved in, I would have to park a mile away just to park my car before I caved in and got the garage. The entire office staff has been great but the person that help me move in and has helped me the most since has been Cherie! I just wish I had a washer and dryer in my apartment.
We moved into Coral Bay 2 months ago and have been very pleased. Lovely green space for my pup, friendly neighbors who like to chat. The buildings are a bit creaky (we live on the bottom floor) but nothing outrageous from up above. Really fast response on any maintenance issues...we were having trouble with hot water and they fully replaced our hot water unit and it is working great now. They are not afraid to replace things or spend money to make the tenants happy. And the best thing about Coral Bay...THE STAFF! The front desk ladies and manager are all very kind and reasonable. We still swing by with our pup to say hello! He gives the treats 5 stars. This is a complex that really feels like home.Edit: After living here for 11 months, we are extremely unhappy with the state of our apartment. Because we live on the bottom floor, our happiness is completely dependent on the courtesy of our upstairs neighbors. This building is old and not made for having loud and rambunctious upstairs neighbors. I am constantly upset by the noise, and have been woken up more times than I can count. There is more banging and running and creaking than I could imagine. I cannot work from home or even enjoy a book when they are around. Make sure to schedule your viewing when the upstairs tenants are home, or if you get noisy ones theyll make your life a nightmare. The office has been responsive and courteous, but we have had very little improvement since January. The office wont be able to fix terrible neighbors who dont care when you live in an older building with little soundproofing.
I have lived at Coral Bay for nearly a year. The facilities (for the price) are phenomenal. The staff and maintenance crews are friendly and attentive (namely Brianna and Cherie from the office staff, and the handymen who work here too). I recommend this place to anyone looking for comfort for a 2 bed for $1600-1700 a month minus bills.Downsides exist: the water bill is high! We don’t use our dish washer and are two guys who take quick showers and we spend $35+ a month on water. I think neighboring apartments are under one meter which means if your neighbor uses a lot you are billed for it.Parking can be difficult. If you get back to your apartment after 11:00pm by car regularly expect to walk half a mile from an available space. Before 10:30pm I almost always get a decent spot. The floorboards can be LOUD. Try and get an upstairs apartment. But overall, gym, jacuzzi, cheap fast internet ($40 AT&T packages here for a LOT of GB), coral bay apartments office a walk away, clean neighborhood, and maintenance work orders that are dealt with within a few days. It’s a great place to live.
My review is five stars entirely because of Melissa & Ly in the office (and Doris!). These ladies have been incredibly helpful and I will likely renew my lease when my term comes up because theyve been so great to work with. The apartments themselves arent much to shake a stick at - theyre fairly basic, the utilities are OK but not great. The grounds are nicely kept, although a lot of people dont pick up their dogs poop which is less than fun. Lastly, parking stinks - but if you dont get in too late in the day, its alright.
Im very happy with moving to Coral Bay and especially thankful for Lani who helped me with the move-in process. She was very professional and prompt to return my phone calls and emails, always having an answer available for me and took the stress away from moving in. Im very happy with the pool, gym, and laundry facilities. Maintenance is always quick to handle anything that goes wrong, and they are also very professional and friendly. Its quiet throughout the community and always just relaxing to come home. If youre reading this and interested in moving here I definitely recommend calling the office and asking for Lani. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. This is a great community of dog lovers and all my neighbors are polite. They landscape often and its such a great location.
Doris was our property leasing manager, she is always been thoughtful and very friendly from the start! She offered us a top quality costumer service, making the move -in paperwork process nice and smooth, and answered all our questions in a timed manner. We’ve got all kinds of recommendations from Doris, including where to eat, where to shop, local hot spots, etc. We are very happy with moving to Coral Bay and look forward to be all settled!
Yesterday my fiancé and I visited Coral Bay Apartments for a tour and we had an amazing experience. We were warmly greeted by Jessica who made us feel welcomed and answered all of our questions. The property looked beautiful, clean and it had everything we are looking for, specially great prices!!! We are excited about our new home and we feel peaceful about knowing we will have amazing people like Jessica and the other staff members that are always willing to help and facilitate the whole moving process for us.
Coral Bay is an AMAZING place to live! All the leasing office staff are so kind! Our go to advisor Brianna is always very helpful! She make us feel like we matter and she is always very quick to respond! We love that she is dedicated to her work and takes those extra steps to communicate with us and the maintenance staff! The maintenance staff are also amazing they respond to all questions and concerns almost immediately! If they are delayed they will call ahead of time! They will also call if you are not at home when they arrive for the appointment time you have set up! Loving this place, and it is definitely our home!
I have lived here for over 3 years and there are lots of good things to say. First and foremost the staff is amazing, helpful, friendly, and sincere. They have an easy deposit plan to help move in costs. Maintenance responds quickly and if urgent call or go in. It is one of a few still affordable apartments. Parking is not assigned and depending on your life and work this may or may not be an issue. My neighbors are nice and this also depends on you building anywhere you live. We are all families...and its nice. I recommend it here.
This place is awesome! Just recently moved and love the community! Doris was in charge of the paperwork and she did an amazing job making sure everything was intact and good to go! Nothing was ever lost, or took too long to process. All the agents here are so kind and welcoming. So excited to be in this community!!
Coral Bay Apartments is a great place to live. I am having a very good experience with my wife and my dog. Very well located, close to shopping malls, supermarkets and highways. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. All the employees are very helpful especially Brianna who helped us find our new home. We are very happy...
Coral Bay Apartments is a great community. Conveniently located minutes from the 5 freeway, shops, and restaurants. Super dog friendly, but well kept and fairly quiet for such a large apartment complex. Amber Ofcharik from the leasing office was so helpful and sweet! She found the perfect one bedroom/one bath for me and my pup.
I LOVE this place!!! Im so happy moving here, I moved in 2 months ago and have nothing but good things to say. The area is perfect and near everything. You can see the ocean from my kitchen and bathroom window. You can pay rent online which is wildly convenient. Trash and water is reasonably priced. The only negative was a little plumbing issue but maintenance came the next day and fixed it in like 5 min. So not really a negative. I hope to renew my lease when its up I really like it here!
We just moved into coral bay and like it so far. we moved from small town Iowa so it was a big move and we signed before we even saw the apartments.Giving this 3 stars because renting during the pandemic was extremely stressful due to coral bays new procedures to new move-ins, parking is very high in demand and apartments don’t have AC (is this a thing in California?? No idea). However, our leasing consultant, Amber Ofcharik was great. Definitely recommend working with her if you are looking at renting here!
The staff at Coral Bay has been very easy to work with, unlike any of my previous apartment complexes. If I have a maintenance issue, they will send someone ASAP to fix whatever problem, or replace it for no charge if they are unable to fix it (new, upgraded toilet!).Tiffany in the leasing office has been especially wonderful and helpful. She is the one who helped me rent my apartment, and whenever I have a question I email her and get an almost immediate, detailed response. It is nice to live somewhere that the employees actually care and make you feel welcome!Parking is a tough situation, even with a parking pass, but I know thats nothing anyone can really fix. At least they dont have street sweeping and make you move your car ever!
Apartment shopping has not been pleasant for me but speaking to Melissa was a breath of fresh air. She had a solution for everything i needed and was very knowledgeable about the community and Clairemont area! Im Excited about the amenities, spacious 2 bedrooms, garage and i can bring my fur baby!
First off, Coral Bay wasnt even on my list of ones to look it. My parents and I actually looked nearby at others that were way more pricey for more cramped layouts. We were driving by this complex, or should I say neighborhood {its huge!}, and it was in my mind as we went to look at others. We finished our search and nothing was screaming at me to move in right away. So, since we were still in the area my mom had me call Coral Bay up and they said I can come right in {cant remember who answered but she was very nice}.I walked into the leasing office and was helped by Jessica. She was sooo nice through the whole process and was quick to answer all of our questions, especially my dads because he can be a bit much sometimes. She gave us a full tour of the community and eased my moms worries, as this is my first time moving out on my own. We got all of the info for me to apply and proceeded to go home. While in the car, I couldnt stop thinking about this place and my mom said I really like it. I would want to live here if I was looking for an apartment. That pretty much sold me. If she was happy with it, then I was. We immediately turned around and I filled out the application. Two days later..I was approved and the process started! Im finally moved in and I couldnt be happier. It can get quite cold in the apartment, but I love the cold so no complaints there. The area is AMAZING cause its so close to the bay and also right by Clairemont, which was my second home during nursing school.Thank you so much to everyone for making this process easy and a big shout out to Jessica! You were such a ray of sunshine in the leasing office. Thank you, thank you!
Everyone knows moving is no easy task. The Coral Bay staff were amazing! We were moving from out of state and the leasing staff were nothing but professional throughout the entire process and made our move very easy! The community is close to Mission Bay and within walking distance to shops, bars, and restaurants. I highly recommend Coral Bay Apartments to anyone who is looking for a new place to call home.
Just moved in recently so Ill write a full review later. Doris was very helpful in getting my roommate and I settled in. The location is good, closer to PB and the ocean than some other complexes.Laundry is close and open at convenient hours, the gym and pool are nice additions to the complex.Parking can be a bit rough but its not terrible. You can always get a garage if you need reserved spots.Overall, Im pleased. Again I just moved in so further reviews will be forthcoming.
I just moved to San Diego and decided to move into Coral Bay because of the location to the beach without being right next to it. Its only 10 minutes away! I worked with Doris and she took me for a great tour of the 1 and 2 bedroom home. I visited thinking I would want a 2 bedroom but once I saw the storage amount in the 1 bedroom, it made deciding between the two really hard! There is a ton of storage and I have a lot of clothes and shoes. She helped me with my move in and I have been here for a little while now. The only thing I wish it had was a washer and dryer in the apartment. Parking is also hard, but I rented a garage. The apartment is also hot on the inside so I had to buy an A/C since there is no A/C in the apartment.
I have lived at Coral Bay Apartments since 1988 and the staff over the last 30 years has always been helpful. Most recently, I had an inoperable vehicle parked in their lot that I have had trouble even just donating or working with my insurance to get working again. Coral Bay asked me to move it out of the lot since it goes against their parking policy to have non-working vehicles left in the lot but I wasnt sure what to do. Doris Sayyadeth (pronounced just the way it sounds!) was so professional and helpful in helping me reach out to a local salvage company to get my car moved. This has been a very stressful 6 months for me and I just got out of the hospital, so her help was a great relief to me.
This review is long overdue. All I can say is, I love this place. We were originally living in Spring Valley which wasnt the best environment for us, so we did a little searching around and found Coral Bay Apartments. I spoke with Doris, she is an absolute sweetheart. She wasnt pressuring to make a quick sale or anything, these people truly care. Our entire move in process has been amazing, and the maintenance is quick to respond if you have an issue. So far so well!!!
I just moved to San Diego and found this place work with Dora and Was ready to move in one week after I sign off on the papers 1st apt did not like the location to close to the street after expressing that they put me by the office with no problems yes parking is bad but wow you cant have everything prefect. Now the dogs are a issue with barking, all day at night there good. I real like the property. So just moved out perfect had my deposit in less then the three weeks they gave me my full deposit and pet deposit back had no issues. I do have on issues I am going to miss the place me and Zeus really like living there wish the place was larger 900sqft or more thanks Ly and team my first place in San Diego,
Me and my family start living in coral bay over 5 months We can’t wait to live this place ,too many problems. We can’t sleep at night,we called and talk about the situation one of the girls working on the office she keeps saying she will send them a paper but nothing else can do. Maintenance enter your Appartment with out your permission or requesting, and molds all over the bathroom and windows, laundry machine broke over a month , dog sh...t every where it seems like no body cares ones you start living there. Not recommended this place it just a waste
I lived at coral bay a little over a year. After being there 1 year they raised the rent by almost $300. The way they also handle your deposit is also wrong. They had one of there maintenance guys do an inspection before we moved out and he said everything looks fine. But I got less than half my deposit. How could that be if the maintenance said everything was fine?
I called over 100 apartment complexes and I am extremely satisfied with having chosen to live at the Coral Bay Apartments while I attend Medical school. Their rates are affordable, they allowed me to move in with my 50 lb Husky dog, they have a very nice junior Olympic sized pool, im within a 5 minute drive of the beach and a Sprouts Organic Grocery store, plenty of bars and restaurants; its just awesome after moving here from Los Angeles. Parking might be a bit tricky to find sometimes but I always find a spot down the street from my apartment.Ive been reading quite a few negative reviews about their customer service and I simply have NOT experienced that since moving in. Dorris, who works at the leasing office, is one of the most friendly and professional people I have met, so be sure to set up an appointment with her. Do not let all the negative reviews deter you from at least checking this place out. Im very glad that I decided to live here and because I ended up liking it so much, I now wish to never go back to Los Angeles!
I have worked with Ly Berry for over six years, and my interactions with her have been nothing but positive. She is always efficient. professional, and courteous. Albert Pereyra, the Service Manager is also very easy to work with, and the staff at the leasing office are friendly and helpful. The whole team at Coral Bay Apartments is great.
Update on my experienceMe and my husband use to think this was a nice trustworthy neighborhood, but our car was recently broken into! Thankfully nothing major was stolen, but the more we talked to other people they have told us that there car was also broken into. Someone else got his two bikes stolen which he use to leave right outside his door. Be careful everyone! If you dont have a pet, you can definitely find nicer apartments.Pros:-They allow pets(no size/breed restrictions) for 35$ a month-Not a busy area, super quiet area-Has a small dog park-Has a decent gymCons-Poop everywhere!! I dont understand why! Coral Bay does provide trash bins and doggy bags at almost every block(pro), but no ever uses them.-The walls are very thin so be prepared to hear your neighbors talking when theyre outside-The carpets are super cheap, Ive lived here for less than a year and they are already coming off-Parking is a big issue at night. They do provide parking lots, but after 7-8 everythings full, even street parking.-Laundromats are pretty small so they are packed most of the time
I read an appalling review and then I see somehow Coral Bay Apartments must have sent out a message to their tenants for them to leave 5 Star reviews to bury the bad review.I honestly wish I would have read a review that included their bait and switch tactics before I began to look at apartments at Coral Bay Apartments.I had the same experience another perspective tenant had!The location is convenient, however the management is horrible regardless of what reviews you are reading.I suppose if you want to settle for a lower class apartment complex, living next to lower class people, being serviced by lower class staff...then this is the place for you.Very glad I decided not to move here, especially after reading about how your packages are stolen from your doorstep. You mean with about a thousand units they cant come up with Amazon pods for delivery? This is what Im speaking about when Im speaking about lower class establishment and Lower Class People. You are nothing but a number to Coral Bay Apartments they dont care about you unless they get a bad review and then they definitely want your review to bury the truth about their management practices.I sincerely suspect that Im going to get a blanket answer, a blanket response, and nobody will actually reach out to me because they dont care.If I can offer this place a negative rating, I most certainly would. I feel awful for the other people who have had bad experiences. I cant imagine in such a ghetto apartment complex with careless leasing agents - who dont even wash their hair - that you would receive so many 5 stars...Unless the people who are leaving five star reviews come from a trailer park and a Section 8 welfare housing low income looking development in Clairemont is a complete upgrade for them.I would imagine those are the people who are leaving five star reviews. However, if you have standards - I wouldnt even waste your time with a phone call to this horrible apartment complex with fluctuating rent. The price is not as marked, they will change it whenever they feel like it because they have no integrity. There are better places to contact, places with a higher level of quality and customer service.
I have lived in a 2-bedroom apartment at Coral Bay for several weeks now and have been extremely impressed with the community. Having Lani Giroux as a leasing agent certainly made the leasing and move-in process extremely seamless, her attentiveness and professionalism helped let me know that I was making the right choice as far as an apartment community. The apartment itself is beautiful, huge windows allow for lots of light and even views of Mission Bay! The community has tons of amenities (like a junior olympic pool) and is well-maintained and peaceful. Parking after dark can be challenging, but otherwise I have no complaints. Thanks Coral Bay!
I just moved in a little over a week ago and overall it’s been a good experience. Brianna was our leasing agent and she was great about answering all of our questions. The whole staff has been helpful, but especially Cherrie! Cherrie helped us sort out a difficult issue regarding moving into a different unit than we originally put our deposit down for and assisted with other situations regarding renting a garage and making sure our mail wasn’t going to the previous unit we originally were planning on moving into. Not only has she made moving in an easier experience, but she’s also been incredibly nice and friendly!Pros: Great location, roomy one-bedroom layout, pet-friendly, has a gym, pool, and laundry room on-site, and a helpful staff.Cons: Parking is pretty bad and the garages are pretty narrow and oldschool (manual with a lock).
Coral Bay is the best! I’ve been here almost a year and really love it!You need to check it out if your looking for a new place!Coral Bay is located within 5 minutes to Mission Bay! I love going there and walking around the Bay or taking my family there for a picnic. Coral Bay is also right next to Tecolote Canyon which is great because I love going hiking and being close to nature. There is so much to do right around Coral Bay that you don’t even need a car! Shopping places to eat and also great coffee shops within walking distance to get my morning coffee. All this and more is available to me! I feel so lucky to have found Coral Bay!
I will say the two things we really like about this apartment first, and then I will go into the many things that could improve...We really love the location of Coral Bay. We rarely have to drive longer than 15 minutes to get anywhere. We can even walk to Sprouts, Rite Aid, and a ton of restaurants. Plus, we can see the ocean a little from our window! We also really appreciate their lax dog policy. We found it very difficult to find a place in San Diego that would allow our 70 pound dog, and found the dog rent and deposit at Coral Bay very reasonable. The dog park is pretty well kept and has nice views over the canyon. Here is our input on the mold, parking, landscaping, and sound proofing:MOLD-Upon move-in, we quickly realized that air-flow was a problem in our apartment. We recognize that the weather in San Diego does not require centralized heating or air, but this means that there is an excessive amount of moisture. We are cleaning black mold from the corners of every window and room weekly. The condensation is so bad on our windows that it pools down the wall and onto the floor. There is yellow liquid oozing from every surface of our bathroom. I dont even want to know what it could be, but we are on a ladder wiping the frame of the window and the ceiling constantly so we dont have to look at it.PARKING-We also have a very hard time finding parking most of the time. There is nowhere near enough parking spaces in the parking lot for all of the residents, but on top of that, there isnt enough street parking either. We often have to walk a quarter of a mile to our apartment from wherever we could find parking way down Clairemont Drive. We dont have a garage, so we cant speak on those. Maybe some people find them to be worth the extra $80/month...LANDSCAPING-The landscaping is embarrassing. They put lots of effort into the street facing side, but the second you get past the first line of buildings, it looks negligible. The maintenance staff drives on the grass with their golf-carts, creating a muddy mess, and they dont clean up branches or trash for weeks. There are dog waste bins with bags, but they often run out of bags leading to a ridiculous amount of dog waste scattered everywhere.SOUND PROOFING-The walls are very thin allowing us to hear everything everywhere. When I am on the phone, the other person can hear our downstairs neighbors dog barking and people talking outside our closed window. Just to add to how easily sound travels, I will say that our downstairs neighbor has complained about how loudly we walk up the stairs and around our apartment. He says it sounds like we are stomping everywhere.I believe that wraps up most of the issues we have found with Coral Bay. Hopefully, if you got this far, you found it to be helpful in deciding whether this is the place for you...
I am a student at UCSD and was looking for a place close to school and within my budget. Coral Bay Apartments was the best place I found. Thanks to Amber my roommate and I had a great experience moving in. The only downside would be parking but overall Coral Bay is a great apartment complex.
I was recently laid off due to a reduction in work. The Coral Bay office staff & management worked with me so that I could pay my rent. When a major life turn of events happens, it is such a nice feeling to know that the management & staff at the leasing office has the compassion to work with me. If you are looking to rent an apartment here, hands down this is the place! Ask for Melissa Sandoval, she will go above and beyond the call of duty! Thank you to Melissa and the management at Coral Bay!
I have been living this apartment for 9 months.Maintenance issues started happening the day I moved in...1. Garbage disposal was not working even before I use the kitchen. Finally, they replaced the old disposal machine to the new one after my few maintenance requests. (now is okay)2. During the winter time, I cannot use the heater machine that much because the power was out within few minutes.. You may need energy saving product to keep your power on..3. One day, I woke up at 4 am because I heard very noisy sound from the bathroom area. Water heater machine had some problem, so I had to call emergency maintenance. Maintenance people in and out all the morning time and they replaced the water tank(?). I could take a shower around 8:30, and late my work.4. Two days ago, there were heavy rain for few minutes. All of sudden, the ceiling started leaking. I was scared, so requested the maintenance, but havent hear from apartment yet....I wish I can upload water tank problem video as well....Living in San Diego for 9 years, Ive never requested these many things to the apartment office.I do not usually post my opinion on the online, but leaking water from few minutes heavy rain is pretty shocking to me...The apartment looks they try to make the community better, so updated laundry system, painted the apartment etc, but the most important thing is apartment itself, because we do not live here for watching the beautiful building.I still love the location, but I may move to the other apartment after my contract.
I have loved living here since Feb. Close to everything, pets are allowed- I dont have one yet but Im planning on it! I put in a service request last night and came home after work today to find everything fixed! Melissa Sandoval even left us a bag of goodies when we first moved in. Wonderful staff, quick service, excellent location and gorgeous grounds! I love laying by the pool and soaking in the hot tub, I even use the gym sometimes. I would absolutely recommend living here! (I took one star away for noise, I can hear my neighbors across the way even inside their apt sometimes, the guys upstairs might have an elephant and you can hear the cars drive by since our unit is close to Claremont Blvd., but then I turn the tv on or music and its fine ☺)
I moved with my wife into these apartments a few days ago, and Amber helped us with all the process. She is super kind and patient, she made the process extremely easy and was attentive to our needs.Everything in the apartment was perfect and we are glad and happy to find this place.Thank you Amber.
I called to get some information about relocating to the area and spoke with Melissa. She was nice and super informative. Ive called a lot of places and she was the most willing to work with me considering the distance. She didnt shrug me off like I was a waste of time (which has happened when calling other properties). Front office staff mean a lot when living somewhere and I feel confident I will be taken care of here and not treated like a probationer (which has also happened). Thank you, Melissa!!!!
I just moved into Coral Bay a couple of weeks ago and so far everything has been great! Melissa was my leasing agent, and she was so personable and followed up with me to make sure I had everything ready for my move-in. My neighbors are nice and even asked if I needed help moving my things in. I got lucky with a view of Mission Bay, too :). While parking can be a challenge, Melissa found a garage close to my home. Thanks, Melissa, for all of your help!
Moving is usually a pretty stressful process and I know this due to a career that has taken me to many different cities throughout my life. You can always count on having to fill out a fair share of paperwork with plenty of initials and signatures. And this is after the hours you’ve spent doing online searches and eventual viewings. The one thing that is not always consistent is the leasing agents whose job it is to help you with said paperwork / viewings. Not everyone is suited for the customer service field and it can be beyond disappointing when you have one of these individuals in charge of assisting you with your new home.My experience with Coral Bay so far has been exemplary! I received a prompt response to my online inquiry from Rebeckkah who sent available listings and some very helpful information about Coral Bay and the surrounding area. I was delighted that she was the same agent to greet my husband and I in the office at which point she took the time to discuss our needs, likes and dislikes so she could further narrow down the perfect rental for us. She was clearly very knowledgeable about the property and made us feel like we are making the right decision to live at Coral Bay. At no point did we feel bullied or pressured as I have experienced leasing agents who act like they’re in car sales.Thank you Rebeckkah! Your genuinely professional and friendly manner eliminated any doubts we may have had. We truly look forward to being a tenant of Coral Bay and your neighbor!
Ive been living in Coral bay apartments for over 3 years now. I love it. Not only is the location amazing but the property is well maintained, as well as the gym and pool areas. The movie theater is a cool thing to have to. not many places have that for their residents. The staff is amazing as well. They always do what they can to help. They respond to all requests quickly and I have nothing to complain about
My Husband and I have been living here for over a month now, Melissa has been our leasing agent and point of contact. Great customer service so far. Maintenance has fixed everything we have asked in a timely manner. The outside of our building needs some up keep. Moving in was very smooth. I would request to check out the apartment before finalizing anything. The location is great you have everything within 15 mins or less. We have a dog and its close to tons of dog parks. There is an onsite dog park thats decent. People need to work on picking up after there dogs around here. PARKING IS HORRIBLE! They need to get rid of some of the garages and replace it with permit parking only or mark spots on the street because theres always people spaced just enough where you cant fit. Overall its a good place with a nice pool and spa for the price.
We have been working with the Coral Bay staff for many years and it has always been a pleasurable experience. The managers are very friendly, helpful, and hard working. They are continuously striving to make the community look as great as possible through building repairs and landscape upgrades. We truly enjoy working the staff at Coral Bay and we look forward to many more years of a successful partnership!
Coral Bay has been my home since 2004. Nine years in a regular unit, and almost four in a remodeled unit. Its not just the apartment that helps me feel like this is truly my home... its also community... the staff, its a pet-friendly place, not to mention terrific amenities. The prices are very affordable, especially when you consider the area of San Diego in which my apartment home is situated. Im a native San Diegan and have lived in at least a dozen other apartments over the past 40 years, so I have a decent frame of reference. The pool area is beautiful. I can spend the entire day there. A little time in the gym followed by catching up on work in the clubhouse building with free wifi... then I can get my laundry done and swim a few laps in our olympic size pool. And I particularly enjoy the jacuzzi in the cooler months. The sunsets are spectacular.I also appreciate the fact that I can contact someone day or night if I have an emergency, which I have not had, but its nice to know theyre there. We have extra help in the form of security services, so if any type of crime occurs, the local police beef up and send us additional courtesy patrol officers. Its a safe environment, but in any larger city there is always a little crime. Personally, I feel safer here than I ever did when I owned my own house, and have never experienced a serious crime in this community. My favorite thing about Coral Bay is by far, THE STAFF! I adore them all.Doug is a longtime manager, now regional manager, so my first interaction upon arrival was with him. Doug was always kind to us. My daughter has since grown up and moved on her own, but we were always treated kindly and respectfully. Since then, I have seen a few consultants come and go, but we now have a fantastic, steady, competent team of maintenance personnel and leasing consultants. Whenever I call, I am consistently greeted in the most kind and friendly manner. If I have a service need, not only do they take immediate action, they follow through from start to finish until a task is complete. I cannot compare this level of customer service to ANY apartment community. Say what you want about having to walk a half block to park your car after 9 PM. Go ahead and complain about the problems that occur naturally with any mature property. But Ill bet you anything youre never going to find a place that comes close to Coral Bay, and the team that runs this place.Coral Bay staff makes me feel like Im really at home. I cannot find one thing they have ever missed, and it is my hope to live here for dozens of years to come.Id like to take a minute to thank the following Coral Bay staff for being so good to me over the years. So thank you, Coral Bay. You guys are really the best!!Doug – regional managerHector – assistant managerDoris – leasing consultantLani – leasing consultantMelissa – leasing consultantYours, Kim C.
We are new residents here and cannot be any more excited. Doris was very friendly, approachable and sweet. She made sure we understood everything, felt welcomed and even joked with us. It was a very fun experience. Doris also told us matter of fact and provided helpful tips for living here. Thanks for making the process very smooth and easy, Doris.
My experience at Coral Bay & Park Apts. was really great! The young lady Melissa showed my daughter and I around the very nice apt. complex. Melissa was very nice and professional, she made us feel very comfortable and listened to our needs and explained in details what the different floor plans that were offered. Very friendly and polite leasing agent! Thank you for your knowledge and especially kindness! 👍👍
I have been living at Coral not for so long, but my experience so far has been great. Tiffany was always helpful, since the beginning she was great and professional. Our requests for maintenance were successfully made. The only problem (which for me is a big issue) is parking, we got 2 parking permits, but if we get home after 7:30pm rarely we will find parking spot, so we have to park at the street, sometimes far away. I would really love if some solution was made, because sometimes I doubt that all the cars parked there really have a permit, or they give more permits than they should.
The staff is super friendly, and being so close to so many beaches and the bay is more than anyone can ask for. I have lived here for a few years now and I would not be renewing my lease if I wasnt 100% satisfied. the amenities here are awesome. Gym is well maintained, and so is the pool. They do movie nights which ive only attended once but it was pretty fun. and I plan on doing more of. Any time I call the office im always helped and treated with respect. Love calling this place home
The staff is very friendly and helpful! Tiffany Guiang is absolutely incredible! Shes answered all of my questions about this place and why I should move down to SD and live there! She gave me a tour of the wonderful weight room, basketball courts and the beautiful pool area. The neighborhood seems so peaceful! I would definitely recommend these apartments.
So me and my Husband just moved into Coral Bay and it wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the lovely and friendly Doris.*** Literally THANK YOU DORIS ***She’s gone above and beyond for us. I couldn’t have asked for a better leasing representative. She’s quick to answer all questions and concerns, was very open to explaining everything about the apartment. Even on the tour of the complex she listened to our wants and needs then at the end of the tour gave us 2 lovely apartments to choose from. Even though we were on a short time frame from moving in.For the price of a 1 bedroom apartment it’s not only affordable and spacious but has many lovely amenities.Inside OUR apartment came with a microwave so that was cool. There’s 2 mirror closest which is great, now I don’t have to worry about having a mirror. It’s really cool and chilly but there’s also a heater. Not to forget a lot of closet space. Now outside the apartment there’s also a few amenities. It’s got a pool and jacuzzi. There’s a gym but to be honest I’m not here for the gym mainly cause i have a gym membership so I don’t really care for that but it’s nice they have one. They’ve got a common area that you could use forSomething not sure what for but it’s there. Then there’s like a laundry rooms scattered all over the apartment.I love that this place is next to the beach but also within distance to downtown.I commute to Downtown Monday to Friday 7am-4pmThe great thing about this place is I NEVER DEAL WITH TRAFFIC, either on the way to work or back from work. Mainly cause I’m going against traffic which is great. So end of the story this place is great check out Doris if you want to be welcomed with excellent service and a welcome basket.Doris you’re the best!
Ive been living here for 3 years, just move out. Out of all the years that I have lived here, I have never et a more caring individual who assisted me with my move out, reading my billing, and helping me with maintenance. Rebekah has been such a pleasure to have as my agent here at coral bay. I leave with a heavy heart to a larger location. But if youre looking for a new place to live. Coral Bay is great. My only complaint is that the more people with dogs they let move in, they dont pick up after their pets often. But over all good property.
I highly recommend this place! Close to Mission Bay, major freeways, airport, schools, etc. Cherie in the office is amazing. Very patient and helpful in answering questions. I ended up not leasing here after all,due to personal reasons, but whenever I need to rent again in the future I will definitely be back! They have a pool, tennis court, even a theatre. Not a luxury apartment complex but definitely worth it and the cheapest around.
Apartment hunting is difficult and exhausting. Coral bay is a nice complex. Very community oriented and pet friendly. Rebekah cornog one of the leasing agents was so kind and helpful to me. Her positive and welcoming attitude really made the experience smooth and enjoyable. I will hopefully be moving in next week!
Ive lived here for 2 years and the main reason I am still here is because of the wonderful office staff and the maintenance team. Kisa helped me so much during my application process she made it less stressful and made me feel comfortable with my decision to rent here. The maintenance team always shows up for any request quickly, they are great guys, and respectful on top of it. Great bunch of folks
As a vendor with Coral Bay we have had a great working relationship throughout the years. My dealings will all staff there has been a positive experience and along with them I share their passion for making the tenant experience at this property a success. Everyone tries hard to ensure customer satisfaction. Good people working hard for you!
Before I moved here all of these super low reviews really concerned me. I moved here anyway...and now that I have, Im not sure exactly why this place is rated so low? First off, I do NOT work for Coral bay...Im just a resident and have been here for almost 2 years. Im also not sure if there are older parts of the complex? Is this place perfect? no...but its not any worse than an average apartment.PROS:- The property is well maintained- I personally have never waited more than one day for a work order to be completed- lots of grassy areas for walking your dog- lots of laundry rooms- decent sized pool (though it DOES get busy over the summer, but its public!)- parking, while not GREAT...is better here than other places Ive lived in San Diego. If youre moving from someplace that has lots of space and plenty of parking...welcome to parking in San Diego :)- Rent isnt cheap but not crazy expensive for living 1 mile up the hill to mission bay- the office staff has always been friendly and helpfulCONS:- Lets talk about rent again. This is the first place Ive rented in San Diego that Im getting charged for Trash, Water and Sewer. Its not super high, but bumps the rent bill up and many other places these services are included.- I also think if you dont have a dog, you can find other places that are just as nice, or nicer...for less.- the walls are on the thinner side, again...Ive seen worse...Ive seen better. Its not terrible, but with a noisy neighbor I can understand that complaint. Then again...even nice quiet walls with the wrong kind of neighbor...can be a pain. Welcome to the joys of apartment living.- I REALLY dont like how far away everything is. This might be nice if youre married or have a family...but Id like to be a little closer to some sort of nightlife.- off leash dogs - this isnt so much an issue with the complex itself, but rather people (residents) that only care about them self. (for some reason it always seems to follow, the smaller the dog...the more inconsiderate the owner. mostly.)- poop in the grass. Coral Bay makes available plenty of dog poop receptacles as well as free poop bags so I cant really fault Coral Bay for this...many of the residents just dont care.As you see...many of the items on my Cons list have less to do with the complex and more to do with uncaring neighbors/residents.Not a pro or con, just something to note. When you go to re-sign your lease, Coral bay allows you to go month to month. Im mixed on this. On the plus side, I think its great they even let you DO month to month...many places require longer leases. However, if you WANT to go month to month...its VERY expensive (if I remember right, I was quoted over $1500/mo) So yeah...if you want to keep your rent reasonable...you need to sign a longer lease, which is kind of a bummer.I hope this was helpful and helps to balance out some of these all negative reviews. Im not sure where these other reviewers were from, or where they lived prior...but it seems like maybe their expectations were a little too high? While San Diego isnt the worst rental market in the country....its not cheap to live here...and you pay more for just an average place. Welcome to living and renting in SD :)
Being that our credit wasnt too good in the past we are grateful for being approved pretty quickly. Upgraded kitchen is nice, good size living room, but the bedrooms are real small! If you have a Queen bed with night stands only one night stand will fit as pictured on their site. Not much walk around space and closets are small. Were a family of 3 but only one dresser fits in each bedroom. There is only one wall heater so the bedrooms are cold at night. If you need to store you definitely should get a garage. As for the parking if its after 5pm plan on parking down the block, thats the most frustrating after a long work day. The walls are thin as we could hear the neighbors t.v. and baby crying across the way. Neighbors are friendly, staff is friendly, very close to the schools which helps alot! Family friendly with play ground, pool, movie entertainment, gym, free zumba and yoga. Theres pros and cons here, but overall am glad they gave us a quick approval which we needed at the time. Good luck!
I cant get out of here soon enough. In my 4 years living here my plumbing and heating never functioned properly. I had maintenance come in every couple months to snake my sink drains because they backed up to the bathroom and kitchen basins if I put too much water down at one time. The garbage disposal was replaced, but never worked. The drains always reek of sewage. My heater is from the 1950s. SDG&E claimed it a fire hazard and refused to turn the pilot light on. My technician said the apartment complex is full of the old heaters and the owners are aware, but arent replacing them. The buildings are run-down and not being properly fixed, my ceiling has cracks from the foundation that span from wall to wall. The apartment they walk you through is really nice and is a far cry from the apartment you actually end up with. They also have raised rent $100 every year on an already overpriced place. Continue your search, dont settle here like I mistakenly did.
Look, all the bad reviews are from people who are easily fooled by nice model apartments & smooth talking leasing agents. If your considering moving into the Coral Bay just know a few things...there are close to 1,000 apartments & maybe 10 office staff, parking is no joke(seriously its like the hunger games), older apartments = bugs & plumbing is not the best. Cool thing about living in these apartments is that if you need help fixing something ie, your plumbing or bug problem, all you have to do is go to the leasing office, let them know whats going on & they will send someone to fix it. The office staff knows there are reoccurring problems & thats why they have a pest control man scheduled every Monday & have on site Maintanence crew. Today my tub wouldnt drain, I went to leasing office, gave one of the office staff my address & the guy was here in less than 30 mins & my clog was resolved in less than 10. These are some of the last apartments in San Diego that offer affordable rent at a very convenient location. Amenities are really nice too, love the pool & gym! Again these are older apartments & A LOT of people live here, theres bound to be some drama but you get what you pay for.
Lived here for over two years, overall a pleasantly quiet and functional place to live with the amenities it offers, which greatly surprised me since there are so many units. Love the location, as it is close to shopping centers and a short drive to the bay. Pros: Clean unit, plus for ability to paint, lots of storage space and a bonus for the option of an add on garage, efficient work done by service professionals. Cons: Not enough parking space for parking for residents, pool and gym area shared with nearby apartment complex, outdated equipment in gym, non functioning units in laundry facilities (which are now thankfully being upgraded), POOR communication between management office and service professionals, too many people walking dogs off-leash even though rules are on-leash—this definitely causes issues.
From the beginning of my search for an apartment until the day that I signed my lease everyone was very professional and provided me with great customer service. The location of the apartments is right up the hill from Mission Bay and thats always a plus! Thank you to all the Coral bay staff for being so helpful.
Lani G in the leasing office was very helpful throughout every step of the process to move in. From the walkthrough to her final quality check of our new apartment, it was speedy and professional. I have already recommended my friends that are looking for a new place to go and see her!
So, I was pressed w/ time to move since my lease was ending 04/01 and was stressed since I couldnt find a place w/ immediate availability (that was affordable). When I went to Coral Bay I was greeted w/ so many smiling faces I couldnt help but to be hopeful that I would find a home. The tour was the selling point Brianna in the Office was Absolutely amazing and helped me find my NEW home SAME DAY! My house is full of boxes but I couldnt be happier. Thank you so much Brianna and thank you Coral Bay!!!!!!!
I just moved in 4 months ago and realized right away what a terrible decision I made. When you come to see the apartments, they will only show you a model so you assume that the apartment you get will be similar. Wrong - the apartment I got is just gross. The appliances are from the 90s, the carpet is old and dingy, the bathroom is ridiculously small, it looks directly out onto a courtyard on both sides and to other apartments on either side so you have no privacy and hear every little noise going on. On top of that, you can only get ATT for your service and my service has been interrupted three times already, thereby requiring an ATT repair guy to come out so that means ~1 week with no internet, waiting for them to come. The ATT guy said that this is typical for new renters because other tenants apparently steal the cables and divert it to their apartments (?)! Additionally, the trash cans are always overflowing, there are homeless people digging through them or milling about the laundry area. For parking, there is nowhere to park after 530 PM within 4 blocks of your apartment so I had to pay additional rent for a garage but the garages are ridiculously right AND they arent even electric - you have to get in and out of your car to open and close the door, which is ridiculous for the price your paying for everything. Their idea of an upgrade was to replace the old brown garage doors with, just as ugly, new brown garage doors. I have never hated an apartment this much and am even considering breaking the lease at this point to move, even though I will only be San Diego for another 8 months. Dont move here!!
CONSUMER / SCAM ALERT: Unless you have section 8, I highly suggest not wasting your time looking at this place at all! Coral Bay Apartments will advertise a unit at a certain price. You will go online to pay $45 for the application, and the $90 to hold the until lease signing. The $90 is supposed to lock in the price. They will then tell you the unit you originally wanted at the original advertised price is now priced higher. Even though you locked in the price, you have no choice but to pay the higher price if you want the unit aka RENTER NIGHTMARE!I initially called and set up a tour in Sep. I told the agent the lease was not going to be in my name but I was going to be an occupant and gave them my boyfriends name/ contact number & email as well as my name & number. We decided we were going to wait on moving because the unit we initially wanted wasnt the right fit and didnt do the tour.Eventually we did a tour & waited months to find the right unit in the location of the complex we were looking for. Finally the unit comes up on their website. It is a Canyon = it has the older brown cupboards, yet in the description it said it was an upstairs corner unit with upgraded cabinets. When we called the office they said it also had a screen door on it.My guy acted upon it immediately! It was in the exact area we were looking for, across from the office and gym. We were waiting for an upstairs corner unit, and would have paid for a Park or a Summit if the price was reasonable. Their prices fluctuate on a day-to-day basis. If you are patient, you can find the unit you are looking for at the price point you want - especially if youre looking to be a long-term tenant. In theory this is how it works... in theory. He paid the $90 to hold the unit. We started getting ready for our move after his application approval.Getting ready for a move is a costly expense, including storage unit, and also letting your landlord know you will be moving out.Just a few days ago he was told, via email, he cannot have this unit.He called in.He was told it had a few maintenance issues. Considering that my partner is a licensed plumbing contractor, there isnt really any issues he wouldnt know about in an apartment and know the time frame to fix it. He offered to wait for the apartment. They told him it wouldnt be available and if it was it would be at a higher price. They offered him a different unit, in a different area of the complex at a much higher price. He told them he wanted THIS unit and he wanted to wait for it, they gave him every excuse as to why he couldnt have it.He asked for the money back, and an hour later we found the SAME unit online for a $250 higher price for the SAME move-in date we already had.Of course the apartment complex was notified of their scandalous ways, and within minutes the date of the move-in for the unit was changed online to February 2nd and the price was reduced lower - but not to the price we had originally locked in.This means we were being told lies. Not only that but it was false advertisement because the unit was not a corner unit, it was an interior unit, the unit they were describing with a screen door was across from it and I highly doubt that the unit we had selected came with upgraded cabinets - since everything else we were told about the unit was misleading. We can only assume that they wanted to hold onto the unit longer in order to upgrade the cabinets, which is why they wanted to charge us more money for the unit.Either way its a bait-and-switch, false advertisement and a scam to get you to pay more money. This will also be posted on other review sites. The public should know.
Coming up on the end of our one year lease here and honestly it hasnt been so bad. My girlfriend and I moved down here in August 2016 from upstate and have had only a handful of negative experiences. Ill start with the good experiences; the neighborhood is pleasant given how big the complex is because lets be honest unless youre living in a house out in the perfect suburban neighborhood you will always have inconsiderate people who live near you. Also the maintenance is very responsive they come same day and always do quick work. As far as negative goes when we moved in we had to get rid of a couple waves of fleas but given this is a dog friendly complex its partially the dog owners responsibility to keep their pet clean. Secondly and most annoying is the parking situation, the spots they provide are not guaranteed its first come first serve and the street parking is pretty much non existent after 8pm. Last is just some minor things like the washer and dryers braking often and the locks to the doors not working which led to someone stealing our towels, the garbage dumpsters fill up and are often overflowing, they tow your car without notice or warning, and there is one man who works in the leasing office who is totally rude every time Ive had to deal with him but at least all the other employees are very pleasant. We will most likely be moving mainly because it is a little pricey for what you get I mean the pool, gym, and recreation amenities are nice but I would take a reserved parking spot over all of that; plus you have to pay all the utilities and the rent goes up when you renew so its just gonna be more expensive for the same stuff.
Very poor customer service. Truthfully, the only time one gets excellent customer service is on the day one tours the model apartments (which btw are nothing like the real apartment) and agrees to rent. From move-in day onwards, if you have to deal with the leasing office you are screwed. They are not willing to investigate and rectify issues to keep the customer happy. Case in point, considering the number of times people have responded negatively towards the practice of not viewing the actual apartments, any business that cares about customer service would have already addressed this issue by changing this policy. So...I will write negative reviews about this place until everyone I know hears about how bad it is. I do not recommend. I cant wait for my lease to expire.
In general things started out fine at these apartments, but went down hill. I lived in the apartments for two years. Anytime you asked the management about anything regarding service they always said just come in anytime, however they run bankers hours and they can never do anything for you on the weekends, only during the week. This makes it nearly impossible for any working person to do any business with the office unless you take time off.Parking is atrocious. You are given parking passes based on the unit size however there are not nearly enough spaces so sometimes you have to park on the street a literal ten minute walk form your apartment. There are also bad neighbors found throughout as things were always being stolen off the entry areas of people units. The laundry facility is not kept up very well. The cards fault out often and the machines are not well maintained. Some of the paddles inside the dyers break of and then put holes in your clothes. They also charge you for water trash and sewer as an add on to your monthly billing statement but they are huge water wasters. Many times I would leave int eh morning only to find many cars in the parking lots or on the streets being directly sprayed by the sprinklers and not even being aimed the landscape, and many times sprinklers were broken and spewing water.Service requests are not always responded to as several times I let them know that the lights in the parking lots were not working and the stayed this way for a year until only one light of eight were working then they finally replaced bulbs, otherwise the parking lots were pitch black.I would not suggest moving here if you are looking for responsiveness from the management. They are friendly when you come in but they are not reactive. In general the unit looks nice but these units are not efficient in their design, there are a lot of wasted spaces especially the kitchen. There are only four drawers on the lower cabinetry everything else is upper cabinetry which makes objects hard to reach unless you are really tall. Watch out for extreme charges when you move out they charge for excessive things take pictures.
I just recently moved into coral bay apartments and I have to say I received the best customer service I ever received from any apartments I lived in the past. One person that helped me the most was Brianna, she made sure I felt comfortable during the leasing process and that I was making the best decision moving in. If you decide to check out coral bay see brianna she will take care of you
I moved in a couple months ago. I met with Rebekah, about a couple things that were upsetting me, Dog poop outside my place, a couple blinds needed replacement, and my garbage disposal was making a funny sound. I told Rebekah at 10 am, everything was picked up and fixed by the time I got home at 3pm. I was surprised. All the old places I lived at took at lease 3 days to take us seriously. I would recommend going to Rebekah, if you need anything looked at or fixed. Shes great!
This place sucks. I get customer service is difficult and tiring, but at least try not to be so rude??? No parking, ever, and the garages are not even worth it for $85 a month and barely big enough for a tiny honda civic coupe. Plus, Im always being harassed by neighbors and random people walking through the property. I wish I could report the neighbors that play loud music into the night or yell for hours or shout at me from their windows, but I doubt management would not care at all, let alone do something about it. Neighbors are loud, obnoxious, and sometimes even threatening, and management doesnt care about anything but rent money. I dont feel safe here. Pro tip? Live somewhere else. This apartment complex is gross, and so is the management. Plus! If you call them, they might hang up on you then say it was your fault.
Ive recently moved to San Diego from Hawaii and Coral Bay apartments has been so accommodating. Melissa helped us move in and was very patient as we were still trying to figure out how to get certain documents that were necessary for the move in process. She was very quick to respond to us whenever we had any questions. The parking isnt great. There is a pretty large lot but since I work nights and the lots are full by 6ish I almost always park on the street. Where Im located street parking is always easy to find and always isnt that far. But I dont know if thats the same for other units.
Lani in the leasing office has been so helpful through everything! I am a pretty picky individual about everything and no matter how naggy I am she is always so nice and understanding! the only complaint I would have about the complex is that there is a little bit of communication lacking between the residents and the maintenance. for example they dont give you a call when theyre on their way or tell you when theyre coming at all really.
Its been one good year living here in Coral Bay. Always attentive when needing help fixing something and keep up with clean environment. Great place for family and friends to visit for SD location. Tiffany helped me out from the moment I signed my contract and always remembers me and is very pleasant at all times.
Here is the honest truth: The apartment is serviceable. Its expensive, but what apartment in San Diego isnt? The bathroom is a little small, livingroom is spacious, kitchen can get a little cramped, the rooms are decent-sized for a non-family and the closets are also on the small side. POSITIVES: great dog friendly environment, nice landscaping in certain areas, pool and gym are nice and community area is large and able to accommodate a large gathering. NEGATIVES: Overall small apartment, laundry on site is awful in my experience (dryer sucks ass, washer is small and 2 loads are necessary for almost all laundry events and loads are over-priced) dog poop is commonly scattered around, and the biggest drawback by far is PARKING. It is absolutely TERRIBLE. I wish I was exaggerating. There are 2500+ residents in this large community and I would guess there are less than 500 spots. If you arrive home from work after 7:00 pm, good luck finding a spot. You could get lucky, but more often than not, after 7:00 pm (and sometimes as early as 5) you are going to be hunting around for street parking with all of your neighbors and walking a long distance to your place. If you are a person who leaves frequently after work hours and comes back home, DO NOT get a place here unless you have an extra $75 a month for a garage which most likely will be nowhere near your actual apartment. They dont have dedicated garages for apartment locations and sell them to whomever, so the odds of you getting a garage next to your apartment are likely low. Be advised.. I only lived there a year (5/14 - 5/15) and I felt like a prisoner because I knew if I left, I would have to spend 20+ mins looking for another spot.
When you come here, you must see Briana in the leasing office. She was amazing and had a blast talking about everything this property had to offer. Love this place. They keep amazing care of the property. Also might be the greenest area in San Diego. Anyways talk to Briana when you get there and she will take amazing care of you.
Great place and vibe. Spend time in the hot tub and listen to music. Really getting to know people and talking. Making new friends. Clean area, when people pick up after theyre dogs, and really parked closer to every body there would be more parking but like they they say first come first serve. If you get home early enough you get good parking.
Rip-off, No Parking, and MOLD everywhere (keep reading...)THE RENT: A 2 bedroom doesnt sound bad at around $1450/m but you are also required to pay an extra $40/m for renters insurance, and they also tack on water to your rent. So it realistically ends up being about $1600/m. Once your lease ends, they will jack your rent up another $50 every year.THE LEASE: When you visit, they show you a model apartment next door to the leasing office. It has nicely painted walls, no popcorn ceilings, high end furniture and decors, ceramic tile flooring, and looks like something out of a magazine. If you ask if you can see your actual unit, they say no because there are tenants in it. Then they make you sign a 30 page lease, but read it carefully because you are basically agreeing to living in a mold farm. Once you get your keys, you will find that your actual unit has vinyl tile, popcorn ceilings, and moldy bathrooms with a fresh coat of white paint slapped over it.PARKING: It is impossible to find apartment parking after 4:30pm, and impossible to find street parking after 5:30pm. Weekends are just bad all day long. You will park your car about 20 minutes away everyday after work. Also be careful where you park or else you will get towed. The tenants cannot parallel park, so expect lots of dings and dents on your car. A parking garage will cost you another $100/month.THE APARTMENT: Once you get the keys and go to your place, you will find that even if you live on the 1st floor, you still have to climb about 7 steps. It is not handicap accessible at all, and this also makes moving difficult. Once you go inside your new apartment, it reeks of fumigation and there are dead roaches on the floor. You can smell the MOLD in the bathrooms, since they never remove it and instead just paint right over it. This place is a health and safety hazard, should be shut down. The walls are also paper thin, so you will basically hear your neighbors getting it on to Barry White every nigh. You will also hear their TV and their dog barking non-stop. Oh dont worry, they can hear you also.PETS: It seems that nobody puts their pets on a leash at Coral Bay. In the year that Ive stayed there Ive seen several Pitbulls and Rottweilers roaming around without the owners in site. People rarely clean up after their pets, so dont walk on the grass or you will need some new shoes.THE AMENITIES: The pool is dirty, full of kids, and also full of urine. Nobody uses the basketball or tennis courts. The gym is small, but it has a huge window on the front, and is conveniently located right inside the Clubhouse. So every time there is an event int the Clubhouse, you have an audience watching you work out.THE STAFF: They are trained to be very friendly so that they sucker you into signing a year lease. Be careful and stay away!
I spent some time with Rebekah, walking around the property. She showed me the model apartment for a one bedroom. This place is so close to Mission Bay! The one bedroom has two closets! TWO CLOSETS! There is so much space in here. The bathroom is kind of small, but its still functional. These are very cozy, cute apartments.
STAY AWAY!I would have done zero star if I could.Terrible staff, horrible parking, my car was towed once. The are dog waste every where, you really need to watch your step.Old and dirty laundry rooms that stink all the time!I have done many noise complains no one cares or done anything about it.I am paying almost $1300/mon for 1bed, and this is for an old version apartment, which has not be renovated and it is really really crappy!!All the LOW reviews that you see here and in YELP should hopefully keep you from choosing this place. I have 1 more month left on my lease and I cant wait to leave!!!
Ive lived here for 3 years, and hate it. It is a decrepit over-priced dump with great amenities and maintenance, but it was built as Navy housing in the 50s and is un-insulated and has single pane windows. I live on the second (top) floor so the sun bakes the place and it gets very hot indoors. We pay $1200 for a one bedroom. the walls a paper thin. Parking is as nightmare. There are only 2 cable options. The management is incredibly arrogant. My parking permit was stolen from my car and they refuse to replace it. I Complained. their response was Just give us your 30day notice and vacate if you dont like it. Im not renewing my lease. My roommate can find another. Im outta here.
Absolutely horrible service. Ive dealt with both Doris Sayydeth and Melissa Sandoval and it has always been nightmarish. Poor communication skills, 0 customer service skills, both are very dismissive and inconsiderate... They will find every way to never return your deposits so dont count on getting a deposit. The interiror desigbs are purely horrible. The off-gasing in new apts are atrocious. The only pluses are the pool areas. But parking too is horrible even if you have a permit. I often have to park at least 2 blocks
Working with Brianna Phelps has been a 5 star experience! It has been really tough to find a place that would take me and my lab, but Coral Bay is one of the few places that dont mind big dogs! Brianna is friendly, patient, and continuously followed up with me before I moved in to make sure that my move in day would be easy.
Lived here for 6 wonderful years, when it came time to move out the management got me a refund on my remaining deposit in just over a week. Well before I was expecting anything. Only thing we were charged for was cleaning, which is pretty standard anywhere. I would highly recommend this community to anyone looking to live in this area and would return if my circumstances were different.
Been living at Coral Bay almost a year and i have enjoy everyday, is close to everything a person needs to be comfortable. I will definitely renew my contract and keep enjoying the community and ammenities of the complex. The only reason i dont give it a 5 start is because there is no parking assignment and sometimes takes a little wor to find one, i havent had the miss fortune of not finding one close by, but is still a little bit of hassle not to have a designated one .
Dont be fooled by this place. Like most people, location is convenient to most parts of SD, and on the surface, apartment seemed updated (carpet, paint). In all the places I have lived over the years, this had to have been one of the worst. Like other reviews, wondering where to start.1. PARKING - It is seriously a joke. They give you a parking pass which guarantees absolutely nothing. There is not enough parking provided for even the minimal amount of residents. I work a normal 9 - 5, and there was a 4 week span I never got to park within 3 blocks of my apartment. Even worse, was you would hesitate going anywhere, because if you get home after 10pm, you will have a 10 min walk minimum.2. Plumbing / Waste - This seems a common place from what neighbors and other reviews have mentioned. So, over and over the pipes build up and you will be guaranteed to have sewage in you bathtub, sinks, etc. We even had one of the maintenance guys (friendly) mention to us the pipes are horrible here, so he would recommend never letting anything into the sink... like nothing.3. Laundry Facilities - I dont know how much money Ive lost on these. They are constantly broken (no, literally the unit next to me has 4 washers, and 1 has worked in the year Ive been here). If you ask Coral Bay Staff, they tell you Its owned by a private third party, so you will need to call them. - Firstly, I can understand subcontracting out a laundry company, but you STILL need to make sure they perform the most basic of maintenance. And, as you could guess, if you call the other party, they seem nice, and will send someone which seems to still have not arrived at my laundry unit.4. The office (leasing) Staff - Recently, they have decided to update all their online system (fine). In doing so, deleted all rental payment information, and caused tenants to lose option to pay online (fine, although you are going against your own contracts). We rarely use checks, so went and bought some, paid rent (we are done now, right?). Went to pay rent online the next month. Online system wouldnt work. Called. No answer. Left message. Tried re-creating the apartment log in. No longer recognized my unit. Called office next day. No answer. Left Message. No call back. (keep in mind, office is open 9 - 5:30 and I was working during those hours). Finally get off early to talk with them. They explain they had lots of errors, but since I was there they would re-enroll me. Great! Oh, by the way we are charging you $100+ in late fees. But WAIT - I tried to pay, but couldnt (via, you not supplying online payment per my contract), and called 4 times, left 2 voicemails, and got no calls back. Needless to say, talked to staff, then the manager Kisa Kruse, and all pretty much shrugged their shoulders, said Our bad, but we wont waive a late fee.To conclude, even if you are drawn to a slightly lower price and location, keep looking! Its been a nightmare 1 year living here!
Love the location and Apt, has the worst parking situation ive ever experienced, if you plan on arriving home after 7pm youll have to walk 3+blocks.Editing my review down a few stars as Ive come to dislike a good amount of things they do, like refusing to give our friends the referral money because we didnt fill it out correctly despite the fact Gonzalo personally looked everything over and said it was correct. They also thinks its appropriate to start yard work at 8AM.
This is the worst apartment that I have ever lived. If there was a zero star I would definitely give a big 0. I just moved in and the apartment is so dirty. Parking is terrible, if you come home at 8 in the evening, you better pray for a parking spot because the average time for me to find a spot to park is 20 min ish. They only have AT&T service for the internet and I tried to get it installed, the technician from AT&T couldnt find signal and because the wire is too short to connect to the apartment in that area. I called the office and they told me they thats not their business. The customer service is so terrible. They only care if you pay the rent, with this kind of service, totally robber.
Liked everyone up until my car got towed for being over the line. As crazy as everyone parks sometime u cant help it Or sometimes you need more space because u cant get your baby out of the car seat.Like my place not so much the office management. Customer service has became 0 stars.
Do not under any circumstances move here. These criminals will take all of your deposit even after a thorough cleaning. I had them take off 2 sliding door mirrors because they were in the way. They had the nerve to charge me for them. There are dumb tenants there with horse dogs. They dont pick up after their dogs either. The whole place looks like a world war I barracks concentration camp. There are vagrants, winos, junkies, and weirdos that like to hang around that place. Dont, I repeat DONT move here. You will regret it.
Not worth the amount you pay to live here. Over $2k a month for a little 2bd apartment, there is never any parking (even with the parking permit - there is never anywhere to park), you have to pay extra for the water sewer trash, the laundry is super expensive & a long walk, never any available washers/dryers or theyre always broken, there is one place to put money on the laundry cards, which is always broken. For the amount you are charging ppl to live in this ridiculous place to park a mile away & pay a ton more for water sewer trash, faulty & expensive laundry, you could at least keep the laundry maintained and have more machines to pay so we dont all have to keep walking far away to a broken machine each time. Way too expensive for the quality. Also no one picks up their dog poop. Literally everywhere in the grass, people leave their dog poop. Even on the sidewalk. It is disgusting. I had to go pick a ton of dog poop up from outside of my bedroom window because the smell was unbearable. Also, the garages are super small, I cant even park in mine because I have a Tahoe - not worth the extra cost. Dont move here! I cant wait to move!!
Finally moved out and I can say honestly say this place was horrible. No more roaches and mold on the walls and windows an paper thin walls with dramatic loud ass neighbors not to mention the terrible terrible parking situation....The leasing office also added on extra charges on our last bill (not at all surprising) so Id keep an eye on that in the unfortunate event that you signed a lease here. So happy to never have to step foot in this place again.
I went to this apartment complex looking to get a new place to live and was approached by one of the employees rebekah. She was very welcoming, professional, kind and explained to me what was available and what fit my price range. I was impressed by how clean and nice the apartments where and how convenient the location was. I would totally live here and recommend them.
I moved in last Sunday to a 1 bedroom apartment and was told I have 72 hours to get my walk through paperwork back to them, so I abided by that request. As I walked through the apartment there are numerous issues such as the exhaust fan not working, mold and rotting in the bathroom sink, kitchen drawers not on tracks, none of the pilot lights were lit (took 2 visit from them to get this complete...). I have had to submit multiple work orders since no one is communicating and things are being marked as complete when it really hasnt been fixed. I was out of town all weekend and gave them PTE but yet nothing was fixed, again...They called me this morning asking me if they can enter today, after explaining several times they do not have PTE without my dog being out of there. This is all after me going out of my way to make special arrangements for someone to watch my dog so they can go in and fix what needs to be fixed and yet no solution. So far I am very disappointed in the quality of living they that have thus far lacked for the price they are charging for this apartment. Also, if you are looking to move in, make sure you see the actual apartment, NOT the model apartment as that is upgraded and my apartment is not, nor was I told it was not upgraded so a lot of things are missing that a normal apartment would have such as electrical plugs in the bathroom and hallway.Their maintenance and admin team need better communication and documentation so that those who dont do their job are held accountable. Thus far no one has Coral Bay shows no accountability for their mistakes. I would not have moved in if I knew it would be hell the first week..
I have lived here for the past 3 years. Love this place. Parking is tough (but tell me some place in any central location in san diego that doesnt have limited parking). I love the dog parks, and the 24 hour laundry rooms. The staff is super friendly. Lani is my go to lady in the office. always has an answer for me. And always gets my work orders put in promptly. The property is very green and maintained weekly. Not to mention im close to multiple beaches and the bay. so its all around an awesome place.
Tiffany was very professional and was wonderful in setting up a time for us to see the property in between our busy schedules while we were in town! She went above and beyond to make things very easy, and her correspondence was quick even after hours! Thank you for the reliability and professionalism!
Be prepared to have a very short time limit if youre trying to apply. A few hundred dollars later, and my application is cancelled because Im at work and cant respond within their business hours of the exact same day. And they keep all the money. Scummy people profiting off busy healthcare workers like this.
I had such a great experience. This was my fist experience at living on my own, and I wasnt sure how to go about it. I had the pleasure of working with Tiffany. she was excellent, she answered all of my questions, and made me feel very welcome. I highly recommend working with her.
I lived here three years ago and when I came back two weeks from now, this was the first place I looked. Their was not a lot of flats available so I looked around (PB, Clairemont, La Jolla...) and I did not find anything offering the services and amenities for this price. Doris helped me a lot in all the paperwork and I moved in very fast and I am very pleased to be back. I hope my future life in the place will be as nice as it was before. Thank you again Doris and all the stall of Coral Bay for your help.
I wrote a review about this complex and its manager unprofessional behavior before. For some reasons, the review wasnt there anymore but I do not hesitate to repeat my point again. PEOPLE, please save your time and efforts, RENT elsewhere unless you have no other choice. The complex is a dog friendly neighborhood in a convenient location as someone says. Yet, for what you pay, the living standard is minimal. The perimeter is full of roaches; the wall is thin so you can hear all the sounds, feel cold in the winter (without heat - you have to pay gas) and very hot in summer (if you live on second floor). Its also quite inconvenient since the wash/dryer are not in-unit. I dont think you would prefer to share the machines with others especially during Covid-19 pandemics. It is not safe to have your packages delivered in front of your porch (I dont know if the office accept the packages on your behalf) Above all, the most important thing is that you should NEVER have to deal with people in the leasing office, who make your stomach churn. They act like they are doing you a favor, letting you live here. BE AWARE: when you concern about the future renewal lease or even when your lease is up, they WILL increase your rate with absolutely no flexibility in the lease term, contradicting to their claim We will be happy to review all terms and rates offered. What they forget to mention is that Sure, we can lower your rate but we will have to lock you in for another 12 months. Now, if that doesnt work for you, I suggest you keep looking.
I only gave one star for the good neighborhood! other than that is not a good place to live ..they re thieves, expensive for small old broken apartments..my bathroom got blocked 3 times in one day!!! and the only excuse they have is the buliding is old !!!! we cant do anything abt it were sorry!!!. my dishwasher is cheap and it doesnt work and ask em to fix it and they didnt know how to fix it so i just gave up and i didnt use it anymore , in winter the mold is everywhere on the ceiling and they come and just bleach it , the heater doesnt work very good anf funny that one of the staff told me to turn the stove on so i can warm up!!!! THE LEASING OFFICE employees are the worst they are rude and very impolite and they dont communicate very well..they try to get your money whenever they can if you read this change your staff theyre really bad and impolitei only loved the area cuz its near to alot of places other than that its not worth the money at all and they dont fix things in a good way they just hide the bad and sugar coating it! and again the leasing office is the worst
I was out there on vacation stopped by to look at your apartments. We talked to Tiffany who was very professional and went out of her way to make us feel so welcomed. Tiffany was very polite very very professional and one thing is for sure if we do decide to move out there we will definitely be talking to Tiffany
This place is a joke, even more so then the parking. Have a car? Dont expect to park it here. Go on vacation? Go expect to be able to leave your car anywhere. Need help? Dont expect their TERRIBLE LEASING AGENTS TO DO ANYTHING. Are you a female? Be prepared to not feel safe and walk across a dark complex to find any parking after 7pm at night. 1000+ apartments with extremely limited 1st come 1st serve parking. Garage spaces not organized or assigned accordingly. The closest one to us was on the complete opposite end of the complex. I travel for work and am unable to leave my car- I must make OTHER ARRANGEMENTS for my car when I travel for more then 3+ days...seriously? WHAT A JOKE YOU ARE. So they have no garage space AND require someone to move their vehicle every 3 days. NONE OF THIS WAS MENTIONED BY THE LEASING AGENTS - when I did my initial walk through. needless to say I will NOT be renewing my lease here and I will tell everyone I see to STAY AWAY from these dishonest leasing agents If you have a choice in housing - I highly recommended avoiding Coral Bay Apartments, if anything bc of they are full of more BS then any place I have ever lived before
I stopped by to check the property out. Rebekah helped give me the information I was looking for. She was super helpful answering all of my questions. She helped me feel comfortable about the complex. She explained about how local it was to so much and we talked about the pet policy as well. Shes a definite asset to your company. Thank you Rebekah, for your time
This place is cool, dogs everywhere. Pretty sweet pool. People complaining all over the place, but in all honesty. Theyre being entitles bahbies. I pay my rent on time, no loud music. Ask m neighbor to stop runnin up the stairs, but its all good. Right in the middle of everything its pretty chill. Ask for Rebekah, shes the chick who helped me. Sweet. Thanks Rebekah.
Just recently moved into Coral Bay and I have o see I was very impressed with how fast the process and move in was. There was one person that stood out in the office who was Brianna and I have to say she explained everything in detail to make me fill comfortable committing to move into coral bay. I’m very pleased with the decision I made and shou our to brianna with helping me with the process and the coral bay employees
I received the best customer service from Canisha she’s so awesome! I came in to get information because I want to move in April although they don’t have availability now she took me on your and treated me so well I will definatell come back closer to April to move just because use of her!
Looking for a new place and Melissa was amazing! She helped me tremendously in answering all the questions I had, and gave me a great tour of the community. Definitely recommend Coral Bay for an affordable apartment with a great location in San Diego! Thank you Melissa
I lived here for about a year. No major complaints. However the building I lived in has a roach and a termite problem. Maintenance was good about fixing and attempting to fix problems. I am moving out because after my year lease they want to increase the monthly rent for no apparent reason. With the roaches and termites I see no incentive to continue to live here for more money. 2 stars beacause it could be worse...
Watch out for your dogs at the dog park. My dog and other dogs were attacked at the complexs dog park by the same dog. I have requested vet records and get the run around from the leasing office. They dont seem to care about dogs and their owners safety on their property. So if you see a white/brown female husky, avoid it.
Thank you Gonzalo for helping me old the time, thank you for always have a good sense of humor if Im having a bad day and I need to go to the office I always wait for Gonzalo cause I know he will be able to help me out with my request and on the same time he is going to make me laugh, this is my 7th year renewing my lease with coral bay, I recommend coral bay always thank you again. if you are visiting the office wait for Gonzalo you will have the best customer service !!
I phoned in with an inquiry regarding a 1 bedroom and to ask if they accept pets. I spoke with Bekah. She was extremely helpful, informative, and friendly. The one bedroom was $1370 and they do in fact accept pets. Which is great for myself and my little Tandy! Thank you Bekah, youve made this process easy so far.
I’m so upset with the way I was treated. My laundromat card got stuck in the machine so I called the office and spoke to Rebecca. She said she would be sending someone to help me take it out and no one ever came. After about 30 minutes I had called the office plenty of times and no one answered anymore. 40 minutes had passed and I called once more and spoke to Melissa who told me Rebecca left for the day. I am beyond upset because I could have at least gotten a call following up about them closing and not being able to send someone. I would have appreciated Rebecca telling me that they were closing and not have me wait outside the laundromat for 40 minutes waiting for someone to come and help me. Very disrespectful. Melissa apologized and I’m thankful that she answered the phone to tell me that they had been closed.
Ive lived here for a bout a year now... let me just say..... Oh my god. People of san diego can not clean up after their pets. Holy cow! Im glad this place accepted my bully, but geeze. BUT MY GOD SEND REBEKAH! Man, you tell this chick anything and shell GET ER DONE! Shes my gal!I would splurge and get a garage with a heavy lock. Bc honestly the homeless in San Diego is a problem.....All in all great place. Great workers.
The apartment was infested with ants, fleas and weed smokers and the management is AWFUL. They constantly loose your documents, over charge you for everything, blame you for lost papers that you had clearly turned in but magically reappear when you refuse to play along. Dont trust these people, DEMAND confirmation in writing on EVERYTHING. This management is bad, awful, and rude. They dont know what they are doing and unless you can put your foot down and yell back you wont be happy here.
They had no proper signs for parking, towed my vehicle for handicap parking (that wasnt painted handicapped and had no sign) , and then refused to reimburse me, or take it off my rent, what I had to pay to get it back from the tow company. They acknowledged there was no proper signage, but then basically say go ahead and hire a lawyer if you want your money back
I toured the facilities the other day to determine if I could reside there. The computer room was in full use by kids and there were people waiting, sitting on the floor...No chairs except two in the whole room. The pool looked polluted. A noisy dog park existed right next to one apartment complex...not good. I think I will pass on this one.
I just renew for another year with coral bay, this will be my 10th year, in the last 4 years I always ask for Gonzalo if I go to the leasing office, I recommend coral bay if you are looking for a place to live, dont forget to ask for Gonzalo he will give you the best customer service.
I dealt with Gonzalo in the beginning to hold an apartment and he helped a lot, and Ly the property manager answer all my questions, all the leasing staff ware very helpful at all time, I will recommend to any body to come and experience a good costumer service, also to rent with CORAL BAY.
The facilities and the staff are exceptional and should be a model for all apartment facility and management personal...well done!...special attention to Mrs Berry for her managerial skills and exceptional attention to all the tenants at Coral Bay...thanks so much....😊
I have been here a long time for a reason - location, location, location! Within minutes of the freeway, shopping center, beaches, and Mission Bay is just down the hill. :-) I cant say enough about the attentive and courteous office staff, and the maintenance crew are second to none!

2022-05-25My girlfriend and I recently moved into Coral Bay Apartments. We were strapped for time to find an apartment and Naiza was so helpful, patient and very understanding during the process. She went above and beyond to make sure we got the unit we wanted. We are so happy living in this community and very grateful. The property is awesome. Everyone is so friendly, great location, huge fan of the amenities. The only downside is parking can be a nightmare. But other than that, we love it and can definitely see ourselves living here for a long time.

2022-07-22Awesome place to live in! you definitely feel the community here, neighbors are the most welcoming and friendly out of the 3 places I lived in 12 years. The amenities are large, roomy, and clean at all times, gym, pool, BBQ areas, basketball/tennis court, you name it. If the lush trees, gardens, and apartments havent convinced you, contact Naiza Castro, one of the best if not THE best person Ive spoken with, she can give you a quick tour and explain the very smooth and easy process. I honestly could not believe the awesome experience I had, and now enjoying my spot here!

2022-02-05Trying to find a new apartment during COVID-19 was a stressful experience and thats why I want to thank Doris for making it as painless as possible. It was a frustrating experience trying to find a home as many leasing offices wouldnt even answer their phones or respond to me. I had been searching for a couple weeks when I met her, but her tour and charm were a welcome & refreshing breath of fresh air compared to some of the attitudes I received from other apartments I had met with. Im really excited to have moved out on my own for the first time! Thanks again Doris!

2022-03-25Just moved into our 1 bedroom apartment. Great lighting and the amenities are a big bonus for the price and the area. Naiza showed us the grounds and layout of our place. She was very welcoming and informative. They even throw in a little gift for your first day. Looking forward to living in such a beautiful area.

2022-03-28I relocated to work in SD, and was looking for a place to stay. The overall touring, quoting, deciding, background screening, and moving in was done within 3 days (Shout out to Naiza Castro, she was really helpful when it comes to getting work done during a weekend). Which worked out really well in my interest. The least length is same across the board was 13 months, so this is the place I call home for the next 12 months incoming. Lived here for 2 weeks, so far the community is friendly and tranquil. Parking can be very unpredictable if you are coming home late like me, sometimes I got to park in the road ways. Even though parking pass is given, but it is just always packed in the residential parking areas after hours, so I ended up spending a lot of time looking for parking spaces. Other than that, so far so good.

2022-04-20Lived here for 4 yrs. The neighborhood is nice and friendly. But the complex is becoming rundown. The laundry facilities have broken machines in each one.. and since they are outside its a hassle to walk around finding one that works. Its seriously the worst part of living there. Also the plumbing needs a whole system revamp. The sinks and tub would be clogged with the dishwasher water because its all connected and neighbors above or below you will have the same issues. They come to fix it but its the same issue over and over not being properly fixed.

2022-06-21SAVE YOURSELF AND DONT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF MOVING HERE. First off any positive reviews on here that you see of happy tenants just moving in, it is on the required list of things to do when you move in. 2nd when you are inquiring they dont let you see the apartment due to covid which mind you is the ONLY apartment complex that does that, wonder why that is? Living here has been nothing but a headache. The amount of crime that takes place IE: packages being stolen, clothes stolen out of the communal laundry area is not okay let alone the amount of homeless people digging through trash cans on a regular basis. With how difficult they made it to move in here this all came to a huge surprise. Due to Covid my partner was laid off but has been collecting EDD so we chose to have a Cosigner. They said I had to make 4x the rent or had to have a guarantor that made $80,000 a year and wouldnt take my salary into consideration as a joint filing which made no sense. And when you do have questions expect to be tossed around to several office ladies where youll hear different requirements each time. This has been the WORST complex Ive ever lived in in any city or state. Rent at your own risk.

2022-03-14Naiza was communicative and helpful in getting me set up with a new apartment. Things are still challenging given safety precautions during the pandemic, but I think overall this place is managing it well.I love the community, but I think the places are a bit expensive for what they are, especially the units that have not been upgraded yet. For my situation, this is a good fit and I would recommend the area to friends.

2022-05-06Not even worth one star… These apartments had my hopes up high even though they are small and out dated…sorry they do have new appliances but it doesn’t make up for the Awkward lay out the living room that has a built in self/desk area …you only have an option to put your t.v on one wall….This place Would have been so Convenient( keyword) for myself and my family to Reside here, but they didn’t rent to me. I feel like they were not knowledgeable with working with section 8, didn’t want to do their Due diligence and or lied about why they couldn’t rent to me..So if you have a voucher check out the Mission Valley area needless to say way better Communities
