Was trying to purchase a car a bit back. The salesperson told me if I go in the same day afternoon he would make a deal at MSRP.When I asked for OTD he said there would be a 300 something bucks door edge guard tacked on to the MSRP. Then he sent me the OTD which was about 1-2k over what I calculated including the add-on, registration etc fees from CA DMV website and my local tax rate.I then asked for the breakdown of the OTD cost, the salesperson refused to provide anything “on paper” (text, email etc) until I go in. Either they have extra add-ons or markups. Seems like some tactic to get people in the door then add fees and equipments.I ended up purchasing a same trim car @msrp which about 2k cheaper.
Bought a 2021 Rav4 from Danny. We sent a few emails back and forth on a Friday 3/19 I told him exactly what I was looking for and if he had that I would be in the next day. Danny found the car I wanted in the color and trim. I was there by 11:30;and I was heading out of the city by 2. Danny and the others I came into contact with were always friendly. I got a great deal on a car I wanted. Super happy!
This is my 3rd Toyota. Went to this dealership because I heard good word of mouth for salesman Roshan Chaulagain. He was able to make deal with in half hour. In less than hour I have my new car.Thank you so much for your help Roshan and Toyota family. Definitely a 5 star. Before going for a car make sure you make appointment with salesman Roshan chaulagain. He is really amazing.
(Felt Very Uncomfortable) My Girlfriend and I were greated by the Receptionest at the front door entrance How Can I Help You Today I Told Her I was Talking to a Gentleman Named William last week in Sales I would like to see if he is available today. Sure What Was He Asian? I said I think so and than she walked to the back as I was left unattended as if that wasnt Shocking we were introduced to four other Salespeople who couldnt speak English we felt very misplaced in this establishment. We than talked to this person named Sam that we could barely understand and make out what he was telling us as he was constantly smiling, laughing and misleading on his information about the cars. We felt very uncomfortable.
It was a great car purchasing experience. Donovan Boyle is a unique and upbeat sales person. He was fun and made things smooth and nice. Ben at the Finance department completed the transaction and put the icing on the cake! It was not just the business, it was a relationship that was just established and many more years to come...Thanks, guys! See you around...
Yup!!!got a new car after a years and was satisfied with all the service I received in the dealership. I was more than happy to have a person who guided me what car should I take. Roshan chalaugain guided me the best car that was needed for me. I am more than happy with the deal!!! Thank you Toyota !!!!
I am an Uber driver. There is a dash cam in the car. There are videos inside and outside the car. On the 11th, the vehicle was maintained. Then, when I went to pick up the car, the dash cam was damaged. My memory card is missing because I need to go to Los Angeles right away and I don’t have time to deal with it. I don’t know what happened
No service service department. If you decided to go to this dealership to service your beloved TOYOTA read my cautionary tale carefully and have no illusions.I scheduled an appointment for my RAV4 in advance. Being a punctual person, I arrived well in advance. It did not helped: I had to wait for 2 hours in line to get admitted for the service. After my car was checked in Ive being told service dept doesnt have a specialist on Saturday and I have to leave my car or come back Monday. I was assured my car will be taken care on Monday.I returned to the dealership early morning on Monday. After waiting 45 minutes in line I was informed: We are busy and your car will be kept till Wednesday, so go make some arrangements. We dont care about our promise to do diagnostic first thing Monday. You could rent a car from us for $50/day while we are holding your vehicle on our parking lotThis dealership doesnt value clients and their time. They dont mind to mislead or bluntly lie.
I like this place we been buying from them since 2006 when they were at a small location now they have a huge place and a good variety of cars and trucks wai Chu I think his name is is very good at helping people, in service Andrew is the best in customer service not five star because the technicians don’t do their bes..
I had a great experience at City Toyota. They patiently and efficiently helped me through the entire process of buying my first car. From my test drive appointment, all the way to signing the papers and getting the car along with the insurance, it was easy and pretty smooth, all thanks to Donovan. He answered all my questions and also went out of his way to help me get the car delivered. Louis and Donovan worked together to give me a good price as well. Really happy with the service and my new car. And highly recommend them as a dealership!
I had a great experience at this Toyota services location. Steven Yu was very helpful and realistic with what the problem was. He also made sure the service done and parts were covered under my extended warranty so that didn’t have to come out of my pocket. I have taken the car to another Toyota dealership services and had a bad experience and they never found out what was wrong. It was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I just think is fair to say this was a great experience and not all dealerships are managed by a great team so do your research before going in and pay attention to how organized they are with their costumer care and communication. It saves you time and a lot of headaches. Thank you City Toyota (Daly city) for standing out!
We purchased a new car at this dealership. We initially accepted the comprehensive insurance on the new car after getting told there is a 30 day cancel period. We decided to cancel the insurance by coming in to their office, spoke to a financial agent and was told they will take care of it. Its been 2 months and yet we havent received our refund in the mail as informed. I called in many many times over the phone and was told over and over again someone will call me back but no one did. It has been very frustrating trying to get back our $1200+ in insurance. They now want us to make time and come in so we can be taken of. At this point, I dont even know if our insurance is in limbo or not (e.g. invalid contract due to cancellation request but refund has not been initiated). I am starting to feel this is a scam/fraud. We will come in shortly to speak to this dealership in person, but from my experience, I will recommend avoiding this place to save yourself trouble with their poor customer service.
Hope they wont delete this review again. They treat new customers nicely, but dont expect you will be able to get any help after you got home with your car. When I bought a dad a RAV4 2.5 years ago, the finance person spend 2 hours to talk me through adding the extra service package for $1300 120 months 70,000 miles Term. At that time we were told that the add on package can be used at any Toyota dealer. BUT that is not the case, I tried to call City Toyota to find out more details and was not able to talk to anyone at the finance team. I gave up and called the number I found on the paperwork and was told that I need to call the shops ahead and ask if they are in contract with them before taking your car there for maintenance. They are not able to provide with a list of shops that can use their service. MORE ridiculous is that... CITI TOYOTA DO NOT ACCEPT THIS CONTRACT THAT THEY SOLD TO ME!! BE AWARE! Dont make the same mistake I did! Dont add any extra service package they try to sell you no matter how long they tried to talk you through.Called City Toyota 5/24,5/26,6/1,6/2,6/3,6/4,6/86/1 someone tried to call back and unluckily I missed the call.No after service at all or they are just escaping from miss-selling....
BUYERS BEWARE. My husband and I came to this dealership about a year ago to purchase our first vehicle. We thought we were getting a good deal. However, after trying to trade in that vehicle for a newer model this year, we were informed that our vehicle purchased from City Toyota had dropped over $13,000 in value in only one year. How is that possible? The seller ripped us off, made us pay an extremely over priced amount for the vehicle, and gave us a terrible interest rate. The Toyota salesman at our new dealership said we should stay away from City Toyota, and that they truly did rip us off and take advantage of us. I feel that we were discriminated against for being new car buyers and a gay couple (my husband understood the salesman talking to his assistant in Chinese about our relationship). NEVER returning to this dealership again.I should also mention that the salesman Yahya lied to us about the features on our vehicle. He said it had features such as a heated steering wheel and automatic wipers when it starts to rain. The vehicle has no such features.
I have nothing but great things to say about City Toyota and in particular Donovan Boyle who helped me lease a new Toyota. He did a great job describing all the features of the car that interested me. I could not be happier with my experience and I have told all my friends and neighbors about it! Each person that dealt with me throughout the process of dealing with my trade-in and signing all the papers was impressive!
This was the best car buying experience I ever had in my life. I highly recommend Elli Uychiat (internet sales manager) if you want to make your car buying experience easy, thorough, and enjoyable. Elli took the time to explain and answer all my questions.I also cancelled two appointments at Steven Creeks Toyota in San Jose and with Enterprise at Redwood City.As I was walking him through the lot, previous customers also acknowledged Elli and greeted him with a smile. He seems to be popular and the go to person at City Toyota. In short, I was anxious about going to the dealership and I left with a pleasant car buying experience. Ask for Elli the next time you stop by.
Would give zero if possible. I called several dealerships to find a roof rack for my new 2021 Prius prime, the only dealership that had it in stock was City Toyota. I called their parts department to place the order and told the rep that I was looking to get it today. He quoted me a $50 difference than what it said online but said that I could order it online and choose in store pickup in order to get it for that price. I received my order number and went to the dealership to pick it up. When I got to the counter I was asked for my confirmation email that my order had been shipped and was ready for pickup I told them that I had received my order confirmation but not a pick up confirmation email yet. They told me that my order would not be here until Tuesday. They proceeded to tell me that they can not sell me the 2 they had in inventory for the price that I had paid for online and that it would be the full price if I wanted it today. I specifically told the rep that I was looking for it today and he did not inform me that the price would be different than what we talked about on the phone if I wanted it today. Huge waist of my time and could not and would not work with me to help fix his miscommunication, when asked for a manager he said that he was not there. Highly recommend getting your parts from somewhere else.
Excellent and efficient dealership! I called at 5:30 PM to inquire about an SUV and had keys in my hands by 8:30 PM. If youre getting a car from here, ask for Lawrence Chiu to assist you! Lawrence is very friendly, highly efficient and extremely professional. He explained the entire car trade-in and purchase process very clearly, and it was fun to test drive our SUV with him as well. Lawrence made the whole experience as easy and straightforward as can be. Ben Guo, who handled our paperwork, was also efficient, friendly and explained things very well. Excellent staff, great deals/inventory, and very welcoming!
Not a good experience. Poor communication and respect. Ed sent me pcitures of a car I was interested in, I told him I was ready to move forward, called twice to set up appt and could not reach him, he texted me that he would call me back and completely blew me off. He was also short and quick on the phone initially - like he was in a hurry and had no time for questions. I suspect he had another buyer for the vehicle I was looking at b/c the market it hot now. The non-respectful, sloppy communication and follow through is sad and will not help this dealership when the market cools and service once again becomes more important. I will no go there again - the Toyota brand is great but does not accomdate for an experience like this.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with Zoey, Ed and Jude to buy our RAV4 Prime. Zoey found us exactly what we wanted, which wasnt easy (on top of overall inventory constraints) because *we* didnt know everything we wanted at the start. She was super patient with us, paying close attention to new arrivals and letting us know about them promptly, and always happy to look into details or figure things out. We could not recommend her more highly! We chose to work with City Toyota because of our previous positive experiences with the rental and service departments, and were looking forward to a long term relationship with them.
The service center offers shuttle services, then cancels them. Has happened at least twice. This morning, I waited 30 minutes for a Lyft, then discovered that the service agent didn’t call one because of surge pricing. Currently waiting an undetermined amount of time with many other customers to pick up my vehicle because they’re short staffed. Not coming back.
Great experience with Lawrence at City Toyota for my first purchase in the Bay Area. I had already narrowed my search to pretty specific criteria, but still got the runaround and a bunch of dodged questions from most other dealerships I reached out to.Lawrence was prompt, responsive, gave detailed explanations, and led me to exactly what I was looking for. I was there on a very busy Saturday and still made it out with my new-to-me car in just a few hours.Thank you so much Lawrence, Louis and Jeremy!
Awful. Just awful. They had a vehicle that I was interested in. Ready to buy cash. And they were listing it above the market value of the vehicle which I said whatever to cause I love the car and wanted it as it looked very very clean. I have tried contacting them for A WEEK AND A HALF STRAIGHT!!! Calling and sending emails every single day until finally I called the service department asking why they don’t answer during business hours or get back to me?? Receptionist took my name and number and said they will give me a call back. It’s been another 3 days and I haven’t heard a thing from them. No call, no email. And on top of that... the vehicle I wanted got sold! What kind of business are you running? Based on all the other awful refuses I just read by others as well this place should be shut down. It’s a joke so take my advice if you’re looking for a vehicle, don’t even bother. Turn around, and go somewhere worth your time, effort and money.
I usually go to Melody Toyota for my car service. This time I went to City Toyota drop for car service. They assisted well and I have explained the problems of what I have while driving. My car tires making noise while changing the lanes. I informed problem to service representatives. After dropping my car, I was requested the ride to go home. They had a tie up with Uber for pickup and drop service for the customer who drop the car in service center. After an hour I got the message, my car service is completed and ready to pick up the car. I was surprised because they done car service very quickly. Next time, I will visit City Toyota again. Thanks,Ameer Basha
So grateful for REY! I just moved to the Bay Area recently, but have had to take my car here a couple of times. Scheduling a same day appointment for maintenance services on my car was super easy. They were flexible on hours and I expected it to take a lot longer, but was surprised that it only took about an hour and a half. Rey was quick to greet me when I came in for the appointment and made check in/check out fast. Rey was very informative and helpful when discussing what needed to be done on my car and sent updates on when to pick up! Highly recommend!!
This review will echo many other negative reviews about this dealership establishment. They will mislead, lie and bait you in to making the deal only to change the agreements at the last moment. The GM / Wei is the cancer of this poor business practice at this establishment. So dont think any other sales person there or other employee there will be any better because the leadership team there is totally flawed. If you are looking for an honest and fair car buying/selling/trading or service experience, please, please look else where. But if you are stuck going there, please be very careful and they will even not honor things that are in writing because the person at the top, GM/Wei will tell his employees its ok to cheat and lie to their customers as long as the numbers are in favor for the dealership.I would hate to see ANYONE go through the experience that I had with them of deceit.
Amazing experience today with Natalie for my 45k maintenance and wheel alignment. I had an appt at 8am, was quoted by 8:10am regarding how much everything would cost, and was told my car would be ready around 11am. They arranged a complimentary uber back to my house so I would not have to wait at the dealership while the maintenance was being done. They called me around 11:50am to give me an overview of everything they did and offered to order me another uber back to the dealership so I could get my car. Awesome customer service overall. Would highly recommend this Toyota dealership.
Horrible customer service.- I called ahead and tried to make a test drive appointment, but was told I couldnt make an appointment, just walk in. then when I arrived, they said I couldnt test drive because I didnt have an appointment.- Saleswomans english was so bad that I couldnt understand her.- Saleswoman didnt know the answer to my questions about the Prius- Communication is generally bad. I still dont understand which car the $1000 bonus applied to, she kept saying it was for different cars
Recently, I had the pleasure to work witch Chris Paras and Alex Zhou on purchase of our used car. This are the main reasons why I believe that City Toyota and the team behind it providing excellent customer service:•The purchase process was very pleasant, fast and efficient: the whole process took us only 1.5 days•The vehicle was in excellent condition and competitively priced•Chris answered all questions I had and send additional pictures in a very timely manner. He was very transparent about any defects of the car•He accommodated our needs: On our request he brought the car from Daly City to Clayton for the test drive and send the car to auto repair shop for second opinion. In addition, one of the employees also dropped off the car on our driveway after purchase was made.•No sales pitch – just a very pleasant conversation.I highly recommend this place! Thank you Chris and Alex for your professional and excellent service!
Today, I went to City Toyota to maintain my car. A fat Chinese woman received me. I forgot her name. When I left, I clearly left my phone number, and then said that I needed to change any parts, I called me, and she agreed. Later, when I picked up the car, she said she called my wife and said she would change the two rear brake pads. My wife agreed. Its over 400. I asked her why dont you call me? I clearly left a phone number for you. If you need to change parts, please let me know. She told my wife that half of the parts had been replaced and could not be removed. I was really angry at that time. I changed it without asking my opinion, and said it could not be dismantled. It was forcing me to spend. So I dont want to go to City Toyota to maintain my car in the future. Im very disgusted with the working attitude of the employees of this car company.
Bought new car this year. Receive service called for oil change and schedule few weeks ago. Got here 8:45am 15 min. before the appointment. They told me I have to wait 3 hours and with many people inside. The manager said we are short staff. This is crazy for oil change and have to wait3 hours. If they don’t have enough staff shouldn’t let people waiting. End up canceling it.
I brought my car 🚙 in for service. I expected it to be a half day ordeal. I was pleasantly shocked when they said one hour. On top of that you get free coffee ☕ and pastry 🥧. Much better than when I came in shopping for a car. I got passed around from person to person everyone seemed busy and nobody seemed like they wanted to give me the time of the day. As you might have guessed I didnt buy my Camry at this dealership.
As a first time buyer I was extremely nervous but they made everything easy and simple. Luis was a great help and explained everything as simple as possible. He met all my needs and more, so if you are new to all this definitely suggest going there and getting help from Luis!
Worse parts department ever. No wonder why they call these places STEALERSHIPS. Presented the parts guys with a parts list from their own website with prices and part numbers. Parts Guy wouldnt even match the prices from their own site. Parts Guy stated you would have to order online and request for will call if you wanted that price. Whats the difference if I order online on your site or in person. Maybe you just have to pull parts from the shelf yourself? Not like its that hard as there was no customers around. If you need parts go to SF toyota way better service.
Went in to trade in my car for a Rav4. Marvin Luna was the one who helped us. He made everything easy and fun at the same time. He was knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks so much Marvin for the helped! You made everything so easy and smooth. Walked out with an awesome car. I recommend seeing him if you are interested in a car!
Took my truck in for a recall, they said it would be ready by 12. Went to pick up my truck and was ignored until 6:00 pm when I was finally told my truck would not start. They had also scratched my drivers side door and headlight. Had to leave my truck with them for a few days until they realized they put the part in the wrong way. After they kept the truck to fix the scratches, they only repaired the scratch on the door. One of the managers said it was an old scratch. I asked to speak to the manger and Andre Uy refused. Take pictures of your vehicle because they will deny any damages they make.I took my truck in for a factory recall of the headlights of which City Toyota did. My headlights are not working properly now.
Terrible experience, they’re basically driving potential lessors away. I spoke to an extremely rude Manager who quoted me a price over 2x the advertised rate on the basis that my credit is likely “terrible”. They did not conduct a credit check and made this suggestion on absolutely no basis. Whole process was awful and frankly offensive. Definition of scummy salesmanship.
I have been trying to get a hold of someone in the office and their front desk or rep has been advising me that a Sales Manager would call me. I have yet to hear from anyone. I called twice. The 3rd time I called and expressed my concern of not being able to speak to someone, I was transferred to a voice mail. I left a message and it has been several days now and I still haven’t heard back. I need to speak to someone as it’s urgent and regarding safety from a vehicle I purchased from them.
I had my last car for 13 years and fully intended to drive it until it fell out from under me. A rapidly expanding family (and the need for a safer vehicle) meant a change of plans. My brother told me that I needed to go to City Toyota and see Edmar Cortez and he was absolutely right. Edmar and his team (specifically Joe in Sales and Jude in Finance) took such good care of us that I now want all my friends and family to get new vehicles so I can send them there as well. We love our new car (wed done our research so we knew we would) and were so happy we went to City Toyota to get it.
SCAMMERS!!!! Horrible service. While youre purchasing their service is great, but as soon as your need help with something theyll lose money with they totally ignore you. They never answer their phones or get back to you when you need help. I purchased an extended warranty and the finance guy, Ben, told me I could cancel the warranty over the phone and receive a full refund within 30 days. I purchased the warranty because of the 30 day cancellation so if I changed my mind I could cancel. Ive been calling every single day since a week ago and no body gets back to me. All they care about is money. Ive contacted 2 different people and no one helps me. I asked Danny, a sales guy, to give me my sales guy, Javiers, contact info And danny read my text but never replied. How hard is it to send me the contact info? Danny told me I couldnt cancel the contract over the phone even though Ben assured me I could. Now Im shuffling trying to cancel before my 30 days run out because they keep giving me the run around. Worst Toyota dealership. DO NOT PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE BASIS OF BEING ABLE TO CHANGE YOUR MIND BECAUSE THEY WILL MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET YOUR REFIND.
This dealership would definitely rip you off if you get to work with a greedy salesperson, my worst experience here was when we traded our Camry and RAV4 for a Highlander, the salesperson didnt even bother to tell us how much those 2 cars worth, as a very inexperience buyer what we only know is that we want to get a bigger car. The Highlander including the remaining balance for both cars cost us $70,000 paying for 5 years including interests.
Double check your price quote before authorizing any service. And keep your hard copy. They will try and add on additional charges. They tried to charge me $400.00 to diagnose the source of a noise even though they couldnt find the cause. I ended up paying half plus additional charges. On another occasion I needed a 12 volt battery. The price they quoted on the phone was not the price quoted in.person. They quoted me 2 higher prices in.person. Im trying to work with you here. is what he said. Apparently there is no set price and they charge what they think they can get out of you.Shop around.
I am not satisfied with that, after all I have had my car for 2 years and now you notice that there is an error in the airbag? This is serious and people still died, and even though I have to wait for a solution to fix it? I use my car every day to work and Im at risk every day. How is the risk I have taken for these past two years? You should indemnify the customer and not simply send a letter that is seeking a solution. On the day I bought it I bought a car thinking it was in perfect condition and then I received a notification that there is a risk, which can be serious to my life and that of my passengers, family or friends. Total neglect. They are good to sell. Later, it treats the customer like garbage.
Elli Uychiat gave my wife and I a great price on a new 2021 Highlander with minimal haggling. No other dealer in the area would come close to their price relative to the MSRP. Minimal pressure and, in general, pleasant buying experience. Would recommend to family and friends looking for a good deal on a Toyota.
Miguel Gonzales was on it since the first phone call. He waited for us even though we were getting there 15 minutes before closing. We brought a 2019 tacoma that only had 1 key my husband wasnt to happy about that. But he got us that second key. Look for him if you are at City Toyota.
See Greg if youre looking for a new Toyota! I almost walked out of the dealership with an SUV that Id found online. I thought it was a good deal, but wasnt in love with the color. After a second test drive, I had a lot of doubts. After discussing my needs, Greg directed me to a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid XSE. Greg was patient, attentive and knowledgeable about the features in the car. He was very accommodating to my back and forth of vehicle color choices. This car fit my personality much better including color, features, aesthetics, gas mileage, usage of vehicle etc. You cant beat 40mpg combined for an SUV like the Rav4 hybrid. I also ended up getting the comprehensive warranty. You never know what can go wrong with electronics so its good to have insurance as a hedge. The towing capacity is at 1750 which can accommodate a small teardrop trailer. Im having a roof rack and trailer hitch installed as well. There may be slightly cheaper options available at 3rd parties but I prefer to trust my new car in the hands of Toyota parts and service. And specifically at this dealership. The finance manager Wei was incredibly helpful. He helped finance my new car and made sure I was able to get the deal done quickly.Greg and Wei were both honest and considerate to my needs. I am very analytical and want to make sure I understand the entire process of buying a car. I would recommend working with City Toyota as Ill be doing so for future service and when Im in the market for a new vehicle.
Had worst experience ever. Made a appointment for service set for 6am. Dropped off car day ahead to make it faster. Well, 6 hrs of no update I called. They said they didnt even touch my car. I said I had an appointment. Their excuse was I fell through the cracks and they will call me back. 4hrs later no call. I drove to dealership and went straight to service manager. The manager said it was their fault and will pickup the labor and just pay for parts. The adviser who dropped the ball, gave me every lame excuses what happened but I know he was wrong.. Ive been going to this dealership for 17yrs for all services and this happens. I l know dealerships are hurting for business . I see now why they lose returning customers.
The service rep, Rey, was very helpful, polite, professional, as were the rental desk. All know their desk and how it runs in ordee to help the customer. There is one thing I noticed overall though, employees dont smile much, overall. Its like they dont want to be there. In all fairness though, my experience is always fine as of this point.
CUSTOMER BEWARE!! The management team at this particular store does not promote honest business practices. If you choose to do business with them please get everything in writing!! Do not trust a verbal promise by staff at this dealership! I was told that they would make a second key for my new purchase but after 6 calls to the manager they havent followed through. The buying experience I went through was erratic, they had to call me back because they made several errors on the paperwork. I drove back to the store (2 hrs away) to fix their mistake but still they havent made good on any promise they made that wasnt in writing.

Not impressed! Came in for an oil change at 10am, was told it would be done by noon. Noon came and went and no updates, I had to ask to see what was taking so long. It took 2hrs 45mins! And they didnt even wash my car! I mean if they had my car that long they at least could have done it. I asked how come such a long wait and I was told that because I didnt have an appointment and that appointments are given priority. Wish I would have known =|
Tway, and several others were helping us we dicited not to by because they added a extended warranty and gap insurance with out telling us so after thinking about it we decided not you buy. And everything seemed ok. But the next day we found out the the sales manager called our reference and complained that we waisted there time apparently the car sales guys don’t like to work for there sales !!!! And if they don’t get you sale they act like 3rd graders and wine so unethical I will never go back there ever
1 employee I had a problem with. He told me an alignment isnt covered under any warranty the first year of my Toyota. When in fact it is talking with a service Manager. The main reason I dont want to deal with the 1st employee is he sent me a text saying Here at City Toyota our goal is a satisfied customer and to let him know how he could meet my expectations.I texted him back letting him know that in fact an alignment is covered the first year, and for him to call me back at his earliest convenience to schedule an appointment for me to bring my car back to have that done. I had been in the previous day for my first oil change and tire rotation. I waited a week and never heard from him to schedule a good time to bring it back in (which is out of town)so I called and scheduled an appointment. I was seen by a different service worker at 10:00 a.mand was asked if I needed a ride home. I told him I could wait no problem. Keep in mind I had an appointment at 10:00am.He told me he couldnt promise me a time the vehicle would be completed. So I took the ride home leaving my car. That evening he called and told me they would need it an additional day. I asked him if they even looked at it yet and he said no. Then proceeded to tell me he is off tomorrow but would make sure the person working would have it completed. I ended up calling around 1:00 PM the next day inquiring about my car but got a voice mail. I left a message asking someone to please call me about my car. I received a call at 3:30pm stating my car was ready. Why have an appointment if they wont be working on your car at the appointment time? They are extremely busy and having an appointment doesnt help them get it done any faster!
They wanted me to pay for a new wheel and rim because they didnt have the tools to remove it without drilling out the bolts. I also had parts of a ratchet left in the gap between my hood and windshield.Everything ran smoothly, though.Edit: I lowered the rating because they let me drive off with no coolant in the engine when replacing/topping off the fluids was part of the service I paid for. Im going to have another mechanic look at my car to make sure anything was done properly.
I had a flat tire and had my car towed to this location. I had a broken foot and using crutches, so I went home. I called Toyota, which I’ve been at before, and asked if I had to be present for my car to be checked; they said “no.” The tow truck texted me a photo of my car arriving at Toyota around 1:30.Two hours had passed and no update, so I called them. They said they will call me back in a few minutes. Another two hours passed and no update, so I called them again; they said they will call me back. This time they did call me back, but to tell me my car has not been seen nor serviced. They said they will take care of it first ruin the morning. They open at 6:00 and called them first thing to make sure my car will be first in line. The phone just kept ringing. After 10 minutes, still no answer but the voicemail came on; I had no choice but to leave a message. After 1 hour, still no update, so I called them again. Finally, a human answered. He stated there is no record of my car either being seen or serviced. I asked for a supervisor, but they were unable to see me because they are at a test drive. He asked if he can help, so I told him the whole story. He apologized BUT made excuses, which negated the apology. He said they were busy and did not acknowledge they dropped the ball. All I needed is an update. They could have called me to let me know I can’t be assisted that day and will have to wait the following day and I would have been fine. With that info I could make a decision to stay with them or go somewhere else. That’s all I needed - a f*****g update! Not keep me in the dark and the runaround! Anyway, they said they will have a technician available in 15 mins to see my car and they will get me the update. An hour and a half passed, another round of no update. Mother f****r! I had to call them twice to get any info. It was on the second call they told me it will be ready at 2pm, which is another 5 hours later. I called at 2 and they said it will be ready around 2:45pm.Next time, I will just go to SF Toyota. They are awesome! I moved to Daly City 3 years ago (from SF), so for convenience I went to Daly City Toyota. What a big mistake! I was warned by a friend about their awful customer service, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Next time, trust the reviews and friends’ recommendation. I’ll drive a little long to SF but will save me a lot more time and aggravation than this fiasco.
What a bunch of jerks!!! I walked in there to make an appointment for a car wash. They have several jerks standing by the door working on their computers and a number of them chit chatting with their co- workers. I approached 2 guys. The first one was pleasant at the beginning. He asked for my phone number but since this is my first time to get an oil change in this location he cant find my info on the computer. He then dialed a number and handed the phone to me and said he can make an appointment for you. I said your here with me and you want me to talk to someone on the phone who is not here to make an appointment. I then sat down for a while to call other Toyota service centers and ask for their oil change service. Then I saw another associate who was not with a customer nor chit chatting with a co-worker. I asked him if he is free and he said yes. Then I walked over to his station and I told him that Im inquiring about oil change. He then dialed a number and handed the phone to me and I asked him why and he said that they have an appointment system. Seriously!!!!!!!! That is so wrong, if the customer is in front of you, you do the freaking appointment in person!!! Someone needs to teach their service people what service actually means.
Honestly, I am regretting buying my car here. Everyone was so nice at first but once you are in there pocket and in contract different story. Ive brought my car in and had to return for rugs etc like 9times in the past 3months. Now my battery is dead and they are telling me to buy a new one. Almost 30,000 with them and this is the service I get and I paid for warranty but it dont cover. They told me that is the chance you take when you buy a used car
It is very unfortunate that a small amount of people can ruin it for everyone. I would give 0 stars if I could. First of dont finance with Javier, he is extremely rude and thinks very highly of himself and low towards others. Second, dont get your car maintenance here, I literally waited 4 hours and it ruined all my plans for the entire day!! The sales team is amazing, they are very helpful, kind, understanding, however as I mentioned before it sucks that a select few think over their heads about their position here.
Dont go to this dealership. They have the worst customer service, service and part department. They are dishonest and do anything to get more money out of you. They dont answer phone calls, they put you on hold forever and hang up on you. They practice price gouging on parts and service by charging you way more than other dealerships. Their service advisors have no idea what they are talking about. They are rude and unprofessional. They have no technical knowledge and they try to up sell you unnecessary services. When I asked for a manager they say no manager is working today. That tells you what a disorganized place it is.I will never buy a Toyota again. I am done with Toyota.
I bought a second-hand Toyota vehicle and needed it serviced, as well as needing a new remote key. Daly City Toyota personnel was prompt to return my calls, courteous, helpful, and mindful of my budget without me needing to mention it. They are also well organized, with options for getting home while your car is in the shop, keeping you informed of status, as well as a comfortable waiting room.Im in San Bruno so I had first contacted Melody Toyota. I got three days of trying to get someone to give me a price, with them passing me around the phone tree but losing interest as soon as they heard me say I was not interested in buying a new car right now. This is how I ended up going to Daly City -- and receiving excellent service.
I brought my vehicle in for routine maintenance and upon returning home, noticed that two of my metal tire valve caps were missing. Toyota agreed to replace it, but ended up getting me cheap plastic valve caps instead. I attempted to place the new plastic valve caps on, but they did not even fit. Had to make another trip to receive ones that fit. I will have to resort to purchasing new valve caps with my own funds and am looking to establish vehicle care with a different dealership;
Thank you for taking huge advantage with me because my bad credit and negetiv acuity on traded car.. this will be my last Toyota buyer. I will be paying off your again high internet car loan ever..more likely double I mean you could a buy $50k ?? May be Tesla or Mercedes..I believe the Karma, they will not long last...
My 2018 Toyota Prius was sold to me by both Adrian Tremillo, and another two fellows at City Toyota. All were polite, helpful, and kind. Although this review describes an experience which happened a couple of years ago, I wanted to be sure to thank these fellows, belatedly! Dawn
Listen to me when I tell you what I need. Do that first rather than unrelated routine maintenance. Actually do what I came here to have done. Dont tell me that I am wrong when I am actually correct.I have no problem paying for quality. That is not what I got when I made an appointment...had to wait nearly an hour past my scheduled appointment time because your service department overbooked their capacity...had overdue maintenance recommended...accepted the recommendation...got a hotel to stay in while I waited for the service to be performed rather than going back to stockton because I had business to attend to here...and then received word that my car still wasnt ready the next day because they had to order a part and didnt tell me until after they had already spent all day doing other routine maintenance instead of what I came here for.I could have gone back to Stockton, had the dealership there do the work, and slept in my own bed. I went back a couple days later and Cliff replaced the power outlet that I use to charge my laptop while Im on the road for business, rather than having the actual master techs handle it. It failed the next time I tried to use it.Then, when I brought it back again, Darren told me it was my inverter malfunctioning rather than the cars outlet. So I demonstrated the problem again using a second inverter. After I proved I am not a complete idiot, he called in a tech and determined that the part was, in fact, faulty. And they didnt replace my backup light which was the other thing I came here to get fixed. I had asked whether Cliff was certified to work on my car, but got no answer. Darren did, however, tell me that he was highly certified and proceeded to replace my bulb. He asked if it looked good and my initial response was that it did, but then, after he walked away, I noticed that he had not replaced the lens assembly correctly and that it was sticking out past the line of the body of the car. I hadnt gotten his name, so I had to call out, Hey, guy! and show him the incorrect placement. As he re-did his work, he rather passive-aggressively told me that his name was Darren, even though he hadnt mentioned it previously. Now I have to wait for another part to come in. All in all, I have had a terrible experience with your service department after spending over a thousand dollars on my first visit. I have no idea how you might be able to get me to come back here for anything at all. Its going to take more than a little effort on your part.
1st visit to City Toyota for 5k service. Made appointment last week for 2:40pm, arrived and was greeted by an associate within minutes.Advisor Steve F. came over and explained what was needed from me. Took all my info and entered in their system. Once it was done, Steve set me up with free pastry and coffee.Steve informed me that it will be done by 4pm. Just before 4pm, my car was ready.People - Excellent ..the only people I interacted with were quite helpful and met my needs for today.Facility - Very good. Nice and clean. Free WiFiI will be back for my 10k service.
For all nine years I lived in the Bay Area, this was the only place I took my Toyota for service. Nice comfortable lounge, knowledgeable and pleasant staff, able to make appointments online, usually ready sooner than promised, reasonable prices. If you’re in or around Daly City, this is the place to go.
CUSTOMER SERVICE - FAIL!!!I called in and was told to bring in my car it was slow during the week in the morning first come first serve. I got there and told they couldnt take me without an appointment. Spoke to the service manager, no help at all. He just said to leave it overnight or make an appointment, same as the service supervisor. I have never taken my car to anyone but Toyota dealerships, after talking with this dealership and reading all of the posts on this board, it looks like I may have to. This place is the worst I have ever encountered. All this over an oil change. Thank goodness it wasnt something more.
I’d stay stay away from this dealership and better go elsewhere. Our experience at this dealership is not pleasant at all. We put out down payment and supposedly paid the last month’s for our lease but they end up not reporting the payment and we have to go through a lot of hassle of calling for many months just to get our refund back. Not helpful at all.
This dealership tries to sell cars with higher pricing because they are close to the city and they have multi-languages sales. They try to sell you whole bunch of services that you dont need or they are not worth. They wont tell you that your free maintenances can only get if your car is under 25,000 mileages. If you ever miss 25,000 + 1000 grace period, you cant get your free services. The service centers reps do not want to speak with you, if you dont buy services from them! They are very creepy.
February 18, 2016Dear Mr. Moeller,I am writing to make a complaint. Yours is an organization of very good repute. It is known for great customer service, but recently, I came across disappointment with one of your employees by the name of “Rolando”. Someone whom I hope is not representative of your company as a whole.I own a Body Shop which I do not wish to disclose and have been a loyal customer of your dealership for the past 5 years, I have time and again received great service at your dealership which is one of the main reasons I choose to use the Daly City Toyota dealership. But to my surprise, sometime last week I was at the receiving end of some very poor and unacceptable customer service at your location.I called your wholesale parts department and inquired about a certain parts and I don’t see any sense in telling you the word-to-word conversation I had with this impolite employee of your organization, but I am sure that after knowing this incident, you will definitely take some action to educate your employee on behavior with customers which will prevent the loss of your business in future.I was so dumbfounded by Rolando’s discourteous customer service phone manner; his tone of voice was abrasive and impolite. I find it hard to believe that you would knowingly employ such a rude, abrasive, and unprofessional clerk. As I am sure that sitting on such a higher position in your organization, you must be concerned about the image of your local dealership, I believe I have done the right thing by passing on this information to you.I was appalled at such behavior, and have a good mind to take my business elsewhere as he suggested. I hope you would look into the matter, and make sure such an incident is not repeated to other customer and it really portrays a bad image of your dealership... Your company has been known to provide good services, and such events tarnish the company name, so please address this issue soon.I personally feel he has no place interacting with the public when he lacks the most basic sense of propriety and kindness.Sincerely,Previous loyal customer
Service center was clean and staff was fast. There seems to be a disconnect between what is quoted over the phone and what they quite when you drop off the car. Doesnt inspire confidence when I was quoted 200 for maintenance then told it would be 1400 to do additional maintenance.
STAY AWAY FROM TOYOTA SAN PEDRO!!!!they are not helpful. They are never professional! Their only goal is for you to give them down payment! They want your money UPFRONT! We got our car there and they add a service fee ON TOP of the monthly payment. The Manager, Ben said its only for a year we will pay this extra charge but then when I called Toyota Finance, I was informed that we will pay it for 5 years! Oh my goodness what a crooked!
Some service advisors do not know what theyre doing. Recommended me to make an appointment for diagnostics the weeks out and when I came in for the appointment, all they did was take pictures. First advisor could have done that without me waiting for another 3-4 weeks. Needs more training.
City Toyota in Daly City is fantastic! The first thing I look for when I go to a place for auto service is the look of the staff and cleanliness of the shop and City Toyota gets an A+.They fixed all the issues I had with my vehicle promptly and even fixed one for me that I didnt ask for for free!Their service writer was a very nice, helpful person who was very knowledgeable about all aspects of my vehicle. City Toyota called me exactly when they said they would at completion of my service.I highly recommend City Toyota in Daly City for all your Toyota service.
City Toyota Service Department should be called NO service department. Made an appointment for warranty service at noon and waited 45 minutes for someone to actually talk to me. Service Advisor (Jaime) was rude and full of attitude. Barely looked up from his computer screen when talking. I thought that since I purchased my car from City, they might actually show some appreciation - guess all they want is your $$ and could care less about taking care of their customers. I will make sure Toyota Corp knows what a pathetic dealership this is. Do yourself a favor and either go to an independent repair shop or find another dealership.
Edited to 3 stars because most items were found but all stars go to sales dept who were easy to work with.I traded my type R 3 weeks ago. I was told that if I traded my car that night they will have the tech remove my aftermarket parts and give it back after a few days. So I gave them my oem parts and they returned my aftermarket exhaust with missing control module which is a $600 part. they can’t find the oem badges and even the subwoofer amp was missing. I was told they are investigating and going through the video footage on who did the part removal. They magically found my oem intake to replace the aftermarket intake I have in the car. But the exhaust control module, badges and amplifier are still missing. Beware of which dealership you trust your car to because you might end up missing some stuff in there. This review stands until they find a resolution.
I bought a Siena here and thought the experience was OK, not great. The people knew what they were doing, and got me through the paperwork fine. They made the obligatory attempt to upsell me on all sorts of features and programs I didnt want, but backed off when I made it clear I wasnt interested. They did a good job of prepping my car and explaining the features. And, they have a free soda machine in the lobby. Those are the positives. The main negative was that it took 90 minutes from when I signed the last bit of paperwork to when the car, which was right there on the lot and in new condition, was actually ready for me to drive it home. I think they washed it during that time, and did some other prep work to make it all shiny and new. But 90 minutes of that? Its too long.
I bought a 2019 camry se. Got a decent price after the $2,000 factory rebate for the camry. Did a test drive with Alexandre Dre Silveria, he was a pushy sales person. Didnt like that. Also we had trouble finding the car because the battery was dead and the alarm didnt work. That was embarrassing to have to jump start a brand new car, cause it was sitting at the lot for so long. The second visit, I did a test drive with Luis Calderon. Luis is nice and was patient. Didnt push for a sale. I liked the experience with Luis but not so much with Dre. Finance (chinese guy) wants you to buy warranties and upgrades. I had to listen to a 10 min speech. Declined all of it, then signed and paid for the car. German Ramos showed me all the cars features. German was patient as well cause we stayed until 9 pm.
Not sure why (as of May 15th, 2019) there is only a 3.6 something rating for this dealership, because my experience there was very good. They sold me a brand new 2019 highlander hybrid xle at the lowest price ever. They negotiated competitively, and not only did they match my lowest quoted price from other dealerships, but to win over my business they added the Toyota factory Tow Hitch Receiver option and the Door Edge Guards for free, and therefore ending up selling the car to me at a loss for the sake of just keeping their volume moving. Their OG finance guy is legit; an honest Christian dude, not pushy, not manipulative to you with any potential threats of the car breakdown scenarios, super respectful and diligent in what he does, and doesnt keep you there long at all. AND they even hooked me up with free door edge guards ($125) added option, AND free car washes whenever Im in the area, even if I bring them a different car than the one that I bought from them. AND, I kid you not, they tried finding me a opened/used cargo cover to throw in for me. With all that said, my customer with them was way above satisfactory and I would totally recommend this dealership if youre trying to get a Toyota from them. Mic drop...
My friend took her recently-purchased late model Toyota-certified pre-owned car here for service support, and the particular people she dealt with at City Toyota were disappointingly unfriendly and unhelpful, and basically told her to go to a different dealership for support.Even if the basic story was appropriate, they could have been more positive and supportive, towards someone who was dealing with an unexpected issue with a car brand that is generally known for its high reliability.Whatever happened to Service with a Smile?
AVOID CITY TOYOTA.The sales employees were professional and attentive. Michael and his manager were both informative and patient, making the initial part of my nieces first car purchase, pain free.... almost enjoyable. However, Jeremy in finance epitomized the sleazy car dealer stereotype. When pushing her to install and finance the alarm, he stated aftermarket alarm systems would void the manufacturers warranty, then admitted they install aftermarket alarm equipment. We realized he was too stupid to walk and breathe simultaneously. When I pushed back Jeremy smirked, tried to isolate my niece, stating we were idiots. After completing the process, he gave a snide remark that we had all the answers. Jeremy, try searching Consumer Reports with your cloven hooves before lying. If City Toyota feels insulting a customer will develop loyalty, may I suggest San Francisco Toyota for all your future needs, or just buy a better car from Subaru.
I came in to do my 30k mile maintenance, I was a walk in so I was told do speak with a representative in the desk, I walked in and was met with two representatives who where anything but willing to even say hi to me. After standing there for nearly 2 mins I was asked if i needed help....Steve was kind enough to advise me that i could leave my car as a walk in, but it would take approximately until the next day for me to pick it up. To no avail, I advised him that due to my job I didn’t know when my next day off was going to be and I had today off so I wanted to see if it could be done by today. As I got back to car and was ready leave, I was greeted by Elida, who advised me that she could perhaps check if it could be done by today. We proceed it to log all my info in and scheduled the maintenance. To my surprise she advised me that the wait time might be about 2 hours only! Moral of the story is, make an appointment and if you can’t make it, reschedule it.
So my Prius needed some airbag recall work done and the closest dealer service option was City Toyota. What a great experience! The waiting area had a real cafe instead of just a vending machine and comfortable chairs. I didt pick up any of the magazines because they were pretty beat up but I had work to do on my phone anyway. Thats a small complaint considering how nice the place was .The real highlight however, was the excellent customer service provided by Carl Kasten. Its quite rare that I run across people that are so genuinely helpful, unless of course, they are working for tips. If I ran a business that had to deal with the public in person, I would try to poach that young man and have him work for my outfit. The next time I need work done, no question about where I go. Yeah, the dealer might cost a bit more than some shade tree shop but the experience was more akin to waiting at a cafe than a auto repair shop. Worth it.
Enjoyed the fact the salesmen were not pushy or forceful. We were treated politely with no pressure and since the Toyota Highlander was and is one of the 3 cars weve narrowed the search down to, if we decide to get one we will come here. Only reason didnt give it 5 stars is because the inventory we had to look at and choose from wasnt as large as other deakes
They will not honor their own 2 year no cost maintenance plan. I still have 4 more months on my maintenance plan and well below the required milage. I have 17300miles. The cut off is at 25k. The manual states that an oil change is suppose to occur every 5k miles for special circumstances instead of 10k. I fall in one of these categories. The service adviser said they will only do 5 scheduled maintenances with oil only being changed at 10k intervals.
The service advisors can be HORRIBLY rude and contradicting! I was told that I had a 2 year warranty on my tires over the phone when I called in with my situation and that the service dept could test drive my car to possibly tell me what the wobble sound was caused from. Upon arriving, I was told (BEFORE even stepping out of my car) that NO I dont have a warranty on the tires. So why did I just drive from San Leandro to Daly City? Why did the other advisor tell me differently? Why not train the employees to give the same information- the correct information? I will NEVER EVER buy another car from this place just to NOT have to deal with the rudeness! David Jacob (advisor# 2350) was probably the worst encounter that Ive had at that place!
I cannot recommend this dealership after I bought a 2nd car from them. Thought I was getting a perfectly new car. 2 years later I had a piece of sheet metal hit my front bumper. Take it to a body shop and they ask me if its been in an accident before. Come to find out that both front and rear bumpers had been damaged and repainted before the new car was sold to me. Even showed me evidence of tape to mask off the bumper and pointed out over spray. They didnt even take the bumper off to paint it correctly. Find a different dealership to buy a car from.
Josh is a cool cat who doesnt have that sleazy sales car man vibe; I saw some there (as every lot has them- self interested, money hungry only, blah, blah blah- but he was was for real). Go see him if U want to get the Truth. He takes time to get U well informed before U purchase & make an investment; no pressure tactics & so on!
This was a great car buying experience. No pressure - Louis Feng was great! I felt like i was given excellent information and the pricing was reasonable and fair. There was no game playing. Overall great experience. I would use this dealership again and recommend it to others.
Totally DISLIKE aka HATE! Piss off!Youre suppose to get a number of free service for purchasing a new car. Of course, they tell you the details when you purchase. But how in the world youre going to always remember. As good customer service, you should always give your customer reminders especially when you know nothing about cars. The first two times, they reminded me which i SUPER appreciated. After the reminder never happened anymore. Apparently my last free service was in June which I totally was not aware of. Its August now and I wanted to get it check and they said I have to pay. If someone at Toyota had inform me of that, I wouldve made an appointment to go in June and not in August. I was inform that I should know. Theres no way I can remember things that was 2 years ago. I asked if I can get this one comp since I was never inform and got rejected. This is so not fair how I have to waste my last free service check. I actually would be bringing my car to get it check all the time but after this incident where they did not remind me except when its way past June and making me pay for it, this will be my last visit. Never again will I come here again with my car nor will I have my family pursue any more new car here again.
STAY AWAY FROM TOYOTA SAN PEDRO!!!!!! They are not Helpful. Bought a used Car last July & Untill right now Didn’t receive the Registration Sticker. Called them & they say i have to go DMV & Deal with that. Need to take a Day off to do that. They should Deal with that Co’z i Bought the Car there . But they don’t want to help & Deal with that for There Customer. NO STAR ..STAY AWAY To this TOYOTA SAN PEDRO DALY CITY....
On Friday I found a car that I liked, CPO that was listed on 6/30/15 according the Toyotas CPO site and CARfax. I called to ask if it was available because there were only two within 100 miles of me. I was told it was available and that they would send me pictures and that I should COME IN TO CHECK IT OUT! I drove from stockton almost 2 hours to the dealer on Sunday July 5th. When I arrived Sorry we cant show you the car. It has not been smogged and the CPO inspection is not done. I didnt argue and asked them to let me know when it was ready. I was told they would contact me. Heard nothing on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday I sent an email and was told it was no longer available but that I should come and check out the other deals, Starting to sound like a bait and switch to me. I replied with confusion and was told by the internet manager Yes the vehicle its sold on monday night.. So Monday morning they smogged and inspected the car and sold it before the day was over. Sounds like bogus to me. They are no better than walmart when you call and ask please make sure it is on the shelf, I dont want to drive 15 minutes to see you dont have it except it was 2 hours not minutes.EDIT: The car is now relisted for 2000 more than originally. Sure it was an error but Willie lied and said it was sold because he wanted to cover his ass.
This review is for the service department only.I took my car here for a major scheduled service at a resonable rate. In addition to the scheduled service, I asked for additional preventative maintenance to be done on the car. Unfortunately, they decided to charge almost twice the going rate for labor. At least I didnt leave with more problems that I came in with. Dont take your car to this stealership for service.
When I came over to this dealership to buy 4 new tires for my Corolla, I had 3 tires that were still in good condition and I requested that all 3 of those tires be put in my back sit of my car as instructed by me, but the technician didnt due as I requested and said that he threw them away In the trash, I complaint about this to the service representative and he told me to go and dig them out of the dumpster I told told him that i specifically requested to have those tires put in my back sit of my car he again replied that if I want my tires back i have to go dig them out of the dumpster.I left very upset because not only was this one of the issues with the staff here, I was disrespected by another staff member..This facility has to fix its customer service..
I had a horrible experience when I took my Carolla to the service center for repair and smog. The check engine light was on, so I made an appointment to have it addressed. I showed up at my appointment on time, dropped off the car, and they told me it would take 4-5 hrs to repair. I am a senior citizen and did not have a ride home, so I told them I would sit and wait. I waited for 4 hours and then went to ask about the status of my car, and they had no record of me dropping it off - it had just sat there unattended for 4 hours. They had not even performed the smog test. I told them I had been waiting for 4 hours for them to fix it, and they told me well now you will have to leave it over night. I asked why no one had looked at my car or even bothered to tell me that they wouldnt get to it, and all they could say was sorry. I brought my car back home and will never go there again.
Good service, only downside is that i went in with a coupon, I was told that their database finds the coupons available to you, and that this particular coupo was not showing up. .. uhmmm, total upsell my coupon was sent to me for that car and was not expired!! Sucks being a girl going to a mechanic, some things never change. Ended up paying 2x what i was expecting to spend.
My review is limited to my experience as a buyer of a new Tacoma truck. My sales associate was Miguel Gonzalez who went above my expectation to get the vehicle I wanted @ the price want to pay. No waist of time, no going around. He was a straight shooter and that was what I was planning and looking for. Have the first maintenance of my new truck scheduled and will update my review afterward.
I would give 0.5 star if there is option to do that.. purchased 4 new tires with 4 wheel alignment services few months back. When I tried to pick up the vehicle and noticed flashing light on TPMS, to be exact, tire pressure monitor system.. asked the service adviser, the answer I got was that you did not ask us to check the light. We dont check that if customers did not ask...
Terrible service at the service dept. Oil drain plug was left loose, not seated, not even finger tight. I called the service department several times, left messages and guess what? No returned phone calls! Watch out for these clowns, they cant even get an oil change done correctly.
I went there to buy a rav4. The salespeople have no respect for you there. A guy comes up to me saying “what’s up dude?” I’m not your dude. Then I talk to the manager. He’s talking to me like “bro this bro that”. Show some respect to the customer. I’m not your bro or dude. I’m spending 35k to buy your car. Treat me like a customer. Don’t give me that attitude. That’s why I hate going to cheap dealerships.
NO STARS I have filed a formal complaint with Toyota corp. for the type of treatment received. I made appt to visit showroom for a test drive of the advertised 2015 preowned Avalon XLE hybrid . I told sales rep I was travelling a long way from San Leandro to test drive veicle which I was planning to buy from the price offered and prior experience owning atoyota. I arrived met the manager and introduced to saleman. We went to lot and could not find vehicle! I went back into showroom and it was finally located. Both saleman and myself were shocked to discover the car had not been detailed or even washed. There were scratches and dirt on exterior and interior seat also had a major rip in fabric. I was then taken on a test drive . The windshield was so dirty we had toTURN ON WIND SHIELD WIPERS so I could see safely! I was most interested in the Blind spot monitoring system but while driving the car the WARNING check blind spot system light went on. After returning to the showroom the salesman was taken away to deal with another customer and I was left waiting 20min! I had been assured by the manager he would be taking care of me after the test drive. I NEVER saw him again. The sales rep came back and told me the reason the car had not been detailed was due to the back up where the new cars are detailed first then the others. This was inexcusable. Two days later he called me back to let me know it would be another two days before it was detailed and the check warning light attended to. I would NEVER buy a vehicle from this dealership. Buyer BEWARE!
When I was car shopping I had a bunch of horrible experiences! Many salespeople were pushy, inconsiderate, and didn’t know about the cars.My experience at City Toyota with Dre was completely different!! Alexandre “Dre” Silveira is the BEST! He knows his cars inside and out and helped me figure out which model to buy according to my needs. I didn’t feel pressured or stressed at all during my purchase and I feel like we became friends by the end. He was able to get me approved fast and helped me with the financing better than the other dealerships that I visited were able to offer me.His assistant Edmar Cortez was extremely helpful and had a very positive and happy energy as well! Eddie Cervantes handled the finance paperwork and he was great and explained everything I wanted to know.I recommend City Toyota and Dre Silveira to be the place where you buy your cars!! World class top notch service has earned my business and made me a happy customer.
Summary: Rude service advisors talk down to customers with low intent to investigate problems. Very limited electric and hybrid car expertise. Go to great lengths to dodge repairing cars under warranty.Brought my car in for repair and should have gone to San Francisco Toyota. City Toyota doesnt have expertise in electric/ hybrid cars with just 1-2 techs trained (yes this is the Bay Area and the dealership sells cars of the company that made Prius a household name).I was told I couldnt get an appointment for a month for my electric car, which would have been after warranty expiry. But then they said I could leave it but it might not be looked at for weeks.I told the service advisor Darren my issues with climate control and his approach was to tell me that I didnt understand how it worked and even if I did, the analog sensors that read temperatures inside and outside the car have very wide error rates. Having just driven an Acura for 15 yrs with a functioning climate Auto mode, I was surprised by how readily he would disparage Toyota technology in order to avoid fixing a warranty covered problem. After debating for five mins he said they would look at it, but I overheard him telling a tech later that there wasnt anything wrong with it.Then Darren kept insisting that I needed an extended warranty to have any repairs covered, even though I repeatedly told him the factory warranty covers it. He even called me later and so I left him voicemail telling him again. Then he called me a second time with the same demand. Unfortunately for Darren someone else in the dealership had already told me that the factory warranty was still in effect so I asked him to go talk to that person. At that point he relented and agreed that the factory warranty would cover it.We picked up our car a week later and they fixed some of the items reported. Fortunately the drive train issues are covered for another five yrs so well take it to a real dealer with electric and hybrid expertise for that.
Literally, the citys Toyota deserves less than one star, they dont represent Toyota, they only represent themselves. They have the worst, unprofessional customer service, they lie like theyre breathing. Theyre not honest and they lack reliability and integrity, theyre evasive and mismanaged.
I had a morning appointment for an oil change and a multi-point inspection. When I asked for an update four hours later, I found out that they hadnt started working on my car.Fortunately, it only took them an hour to complete the service once I brought it up, but this experience certainly wasnt a good impression for a first time customer.
They made some petty mistakes which makes me wonder if my car safe. I left my car here in the morning for a recall service and I received a call later in the day that my car was ready. I came to pick my car up and I saw two plastic pieces in the car. I didnt know what they were and I thought they are replaced parts or something. Two weeks later I found some uncovered openings on the lower part my steering wheel. So these two plastic pieces were supposed to be replaced by the mechanic who worked on the car. I almost threw those parts away because I didnt know what they were.It makes me wonder if there are other pieces in my car that were not put back. This is complete negligence after having my car for the whole day. I will try to avoid them next time.
Disgusting Customer Service at the Parts Department. I purchased couples of parts to repair my Toyota Camry. The body shop ended up using only few parts so I returned the unused parts still in the original unopen packages with my receipts for refund knowing fully well that restocking fee will be surcharged. The Dealership refused to accept and refund me for the unused parts. Exceptional disgusting Customer Service.
I highly DO NOT recommend this dealership. Went there to view Toyota Corollas and was greeted by an unethisiantic sales person. He showed us four cars which two had been previously owned by smokers and were not priced competitively. We then asked the sales person about price which he responded by saying in a very rude tone that he does not work on price with customers (which is the first time I ever heard a car salesperson say they don’t want to make a deal) . Immediately I knew that I was not going to buy from there. Prices were much lower at other dealerships and more euthisatics sales people not ones who are negative because they suck at their job and make no sales. You are BETTER off chososing another dealership which will have better prices and salespersons who want to get you some sort of deal. I wish I could give lower then a one star to truly reflect what you should expect at this dealership.
Its been almost three weeks now but until now they cant fix my car. They said they didnt know what is goin on at my car. I just told them to fix my car ac coz theres a water comin out inside under the driver and passenger seat. They said they removed all the chairs inside and they saw a lot of problems. Thats new a 2018 highlander.
Customer service sucks. One of their assistant service manager dont know how to answer customer concerns. He even told me to bring my brand new PriusV5 to Hayward where I bought it. In all Toyota that I visited, this place got no espresso machine, and customers are only allowed a cup of filtered very light tasted coffee. This is only a mile away from my home, but I prefer to go at that Toyota which is 10 miles away. Very bad experience...
I would’ve given this dealership a 5 Star were it not for the absence of a service car for drop off and pick up while your vehicle is being serviced. I was told because the type of service my vehicle was having takes an hour or an hour and a half, this is not available. I needed to go to the nearest bank to kill two birds at a time to make use of that 1.5 hour of unproductive waiting. Honda of Colma does it. My friend dropped his car for oil change and we got dropped off and picked up at Serramonte after a snack.
I tried to buy a car there and the loan shark dude try to charge me about 50k plus 8k cash deposit for a 2020 Toyota Camry after 7 years of pament. I know my credit is bad but according to what they should charge me should be like 11-15k in interest not double the amount of the car and more.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP FOR ANY REASON. You can just go to many other toyotas and theyll get you the same car. Financing agent was a neurotic nutjob who wasnt on the same page as the sales agent. Its like being stuck as the third wheel in a disfunctional relationship. Heed my warning because I didnt heed the other reviews.
Ive worked at automotive dealerships in my past and know a poor one when I encounter one. This one is the worst. All I needed was a basic oil service and a key programmed. The service advisor was unknowledgeable of the product and sent me to the parts deptartment for the key who in turn sent me back to service, all while I was carrying an infant and a toddler. No one offered to help do any of the footwork themselves I was expected to communicate between the two departments. I was told this simple procedure would take 3 hours even though I had an appointment. 5 hours later I called to ask what was going on and 6 hours later my vehicle was done. I opted to take the shuttle and at no point did anyone offer to help me unload 2 childrens car seats from my vehicle to put them into the shuttle. Everyone i encountered was rude from the pastry kiosk girl to the car wash guy. When i asked for estimates on specific repairs I was told they couldnt provide them that I would have to go to the parts department to get the part price and then service could quote me labor. When I called the manager to complain he offered to get the estimates I had requested and told me he would call me back before he left but never did. These are all the kinds of things that give all dealers a bad wrap. Ill take my toyota to Weiland at Toy Shop on Geary next time.
I went to buy a car on 5th October 2020. I was received by a salesman names Roshan Chaulagain. He was very nice and helped me understand the features of the car. He showed me many cars and explained me the details of the cars he showed me. I finally decided to buy 2021 Rav4 prime hybrid xle. I am happy with the service of Mr. Chaulagain. I recommend Mr. Chaulagain to be the salesman.
Had some brake lights and brake problem. Vince was able to help me immediately and with the help of Johnny the mechanic was able to resolve the brake light issue. Johnny said the rear brakes really needed servicing. Since it was late, I hesitated to leave my car but Johnny went above and beyond and agreed to stay late to service my brakes. For their professionalism and commitment to safety and customer service, I salute these to gentleman at City Toyota in Daly City!
I had a wonderful experience. Everyone was polite and attentive to me. I got everything I wanted. Their parts department is spectacular. Their drive-in service department is phenomenal. And of course their selection of Toyotas is super. Id definitely recommend it to anyone.
Some of the worst service I have ever experienced. I called to make an appointment and the service operator told me to come in as soon as possible. My car sat there for a little over a day and a half and they never called to give me any update. I am happy that I got my car back and never have to deal with them ever again.
I wouldnt trust what comes out their mouth. They had a vehicle which they knew was not selling due to being a rental and rust build up on it yet pretend didnt know why rust was on there. Pretending to not know why the price was dropping. Even the sales manager came with the price sheet saying its just dropping, not pointing the obvious that it was a rental from snowy area purchased at auction by them. They certified it with rust on locations in the engine, under the body and seating area. Also the car wasnt even cleaned at all, it had spilled drinks on the back cup holders like someome had used it for joy riding daily. Why cant people just be honest to sell a product I dont get it. Thank you so much carfax.
Ive been on these dealership like 10 in the morning so at afternoon after my moms work we already know what i want because i already know that day im going to have a car or any vehicle and i was looking for rav4, when i arive and its been 1 hour no agent would ever entertain me, maybe just because im just wearing slippers, i go after an hour then came back but then when im aproaching i saw 3 agent outside waiting for customer, i just walk in front of them and no one would ever talk to me or even ask me if i need help, and it takes another 30 min and no one ever came up, im really pissed, the same day afternoon we just decided just not to go into city toyota because of that experience, it end up we go to serramonte subaru its visually smaller store but the agent is nice enough to entertain us, that same day i got my brand new crosstrek so glad i did go to subaru and not to that dealership, im not blaming toyota, but that dealership i would never refer that dealership to anyone anymore! Sorry but that what you are, they better change that kind of service, i wear kinda descent clothes just wearing slipper and its not so very acceptable service and expirience!👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Brought in the Prius for engine RPM automatically going high. The diagnose was the plastic cap that covers the throttle motor cracked and need to replace the whole assembly. Wow! The cover does not effect anything with the operation since it was not exposed and sealed. Replaced the cover from junk yard and brought back in again. They said they dont see anything causing it so may be we were just making assumptions. Finally fixed myself by replacing the gas paddle sensor solved the issue.Parts are okay price and customer service is great but ----
To start off. They broke my oil dipstick. I know because I checked oil before i went there to consider oil change. They charged me $700.00 to change head gasket. They never did. How i know. Went to get a smog test 3 days later. Technician showed me where there should have been a new gasket. Was all greasy and dirty looking. No work done. Bogus charge. No compression test results, didnt show old parts. Was told to file report to Bureau of Automotive Repairs Association. Take your chance if you dare
Very disrespectful Ast. Manager first name George. First he tells me weve got so many Prius that the entire fourth floor is loaded with them. They had EXACTLY THREE Prius IVs (two of them the exact same color silver and the other white). I HIGHLY suggest TOYOTA of MARIN (no I dont work for them) you will not regret it.I asked George, if I could test drive the silver Prius IV to help me make my decision, He says look I dont wanna waste time, I dont want to do all that if youre not going to buy the car. I said okay fine you are busy so at least tell me the trade in value of my car? He goes basically we dont really sell pre-owned cars, well just auction it off So he came back with a value of $4,000. I asked him another dealership was offering more could you do something better? HE OFFERS ME $4500 and he SHOOK my hand and said its a done deal, let me run by the appraisal dept. He comes back holding my car keys in out-stretched hands, dumps the keys in my hand, and goes they didnt approve it...you better run to the other dealership before you hit traffic WOW, thats not what I expected for only $500.Long story short, I felt quite insulted BUT I drove down to TOYOTA of MARIN. Not only did they beat the price of Toyota Daly City by $500, BUT they gave me the AUTOTRADER value for my trade-in car ($6500). Thanks George you saved me $3000 and they even gave me free refreshments.
I called the service department for the price quote for every 5000 miles maintenance for my pre owned 25,000 miles Prius, but the lady from service department ask my personal informations to create profile??? Cant they just tell me how much its going to cost??? She hanged up without saying a word when I asked question.. Learn some basic customer service 101..
Would like to give it more stars but.. cant. Its like a dusty giant space ship in the middle of nowhere. 99%+ are Asians... needs some diversity, cafe place looks like its been abandoned long time ago... managers go behind counter to grab water bottles for buyers... really not what someone would think of a brand new dealership built just in 2004.. they cheap sale all their cars so thats a positive for the buyers but it sucks for the employees, who get pennies to sell a car there...So, if you need cheap with no frills and no real customer service, this may be the right place to buy a Toyota. Otherwise, others present a much better overall proposal.
I bought my 2005 Prius at this dealership and have taken here for service ever since. They have always been great - very professional, helpful, accommodating, take time to explain repairs, look for deal - I have always been very satisfied with they service and their work. Their location is super convenient as they are now right across the Colma BART.
I had a very disappointing experience. I told the sales person I was interested in test driving the Prius C, that I wasnt going to be ready to buy that day, but would happily come back to him when I was ready to purchase. Apparently he decided I was not worth his time. It was the shortest test drive I have EVER taken (literally around the block, and no freeway). When I asked to see the model I was interested in he told me they were all basically the same. I forced the issue and he said, ok here is another one you can look at (but it still wasnt the model I was asking about, so he clearly wasnt paying any attention to what I was saying). Then when I asked him to give me a quote, he said- A quote is really for someone that has commitment. The only commitment I have at this point is to NOT buy my car from this dealership.
This is my second time visit. My first time was about one and half month ago when I just had changed my other state to CA driver license, and registered my Prius. I need to have my new CA plate installed at the front bumper. So I drove to this Toyota dealer and they quickily drilled holes and have new plate install, without charging me fee.Today is my 30k maintenance. I made appointment online last night and arrived on time. They finished the job within two hours. At this location, they offer discounted coffee and pastries and a free car wash. No up-sell, no pressure. I will come back again.
I bought a Camry yesterday, and the overall service was really excellent.I have purchased over 10 Toyota so far, and my sales person, Wil Cho was the best I have ever met..very kind, honest, no hidden things..not too long waiting time, etc..Financial service was so fast and precise, too. Cindy, I really liked your service. Thanks guys, keep it up!!
So far i had positive experience ,sales men recommended leather seats ,nice improvement ,i went for a car less 6 k on it ,service at 6 am is always smiles , so far Gus S. has been a big help to me ,may be higher priced .i enjoy the camry i bought ,powerful little 4 clynder .take care of me guys ,my first new car .,thanks Gus S. please see you tues. having brakes done,
Ive been bringing my car here since 2006. Ever since ive been bringing my car here, it was just the normal, regular service. Service advisor greets me, takes info, then I wait for my car. But this time, it was different. The service manager, Maher, was out there, in his suit, greeting each customer as they drove in, bright and early in the morning. I brought my Toyota in yesterday, met him, and told him I appreciate his presence in greeting the customers. First impressions count. But when you see him out there again and again, its called consistency. I brought my other Toyota in today for servicing, a day after I brought my other Toyota, and there he was again, greeting customers and taking time out to talk. When you see a manager whos out there and not behind a desk in an enclosed office, it makes you feel assured that he cares and knows youll get the service you deserve. Ive been to Melody and the atmosphere is not like that. Maher replies to your comments on yelp and tells you to contact him if you have problems or concerns. Not all managers do that. Bring your car here for service, say hi to Maher and youll see what customer service is all about. City Toyota. Thank you.
Service review only. Surprisingly quick service (oil and standard maintenance) compared to Sunnyvale and Stevens Creek toyota. And their wait time estimates were very accurate. Good customer service and nice waiting area with wifi and café. They even offer a free car wash with maintenance every time.
Adulting is tough, buying a car is tricky, but Dre made it easy!Alexandre Dre Silveira was patient and not pushy. He did a good job explaining to me about the cars and help me figure out how to make right decision.Everyone on the team from the receptionist who greeted me in the front desk to Wei, the sales manager, and even Ben Gao the finance manager were so friendly and sincere. It really felt like extended family was taking care of me.A big Shout Out Thank You to City Toyota!!! ^_^
Worst service department ever... Suspension grease leak a lot, the service adviser(A*****)said NORMAL. I went to another bay area Toyota dealership, they replaced Both side under warranty. Waist my time... super bad. They keep call to set up appointment for maintain. They want Maintain ONLY.. because easy money...
Clearly this store needs a little more organization. I had an appointment for 10 am to have my car checked out because the maint Req Sign turned on. They found an issue with some valve and I told them tok fix it... Long story short Im still here 5 hours later. This is UNACCEPTABLE

2022-03-06Always great service. Contrary to popular belief. Dealership is often the best place to have your car serviced. Parts in stock, familiar with the car...

2022-05-24I purchased a car last year and had it financed. 6 months later I paid it off. During the original purchase I was offered an extended warranty. I paid for that too.6 months later my Son was driving, at my request, to the San Jose area and a woman hit the car from the side and totalled it.After several requests to have someone from the finance department give me a call with no response I drove to the dealership. The gentleman at the front desk immediately took me to a finance person who could help me. I explained to him that I had not received any return calls. His attitude was that this is common practice for their dealership. He said if the persons at the reception area are not at their desk the calls go to the Service Department and they dont know what to do about it either. So the calls are ignored!! I couldnt believe he said that out loud. Then I asked if the refund for the extended warranty would be made retro? He said NO it starts from today. The moral of the story is RUN DONT WALK TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. This location could careless about the customer. Its sad that people show up at their place of employment and do a minimal job of helping customers. Do you have no dignity?!?! So sad!!

2022-04-09Well they had the most cars so they got our long awaited Toyota Rav 4 Prime in before the other dealerships so thats a win for us! Nice staff, we worked with Zoey and she kept in communication with us the whole time we were waiting for our car to arrive which was sooo appreciated!

2022-03-27They have great service there but I found a razor in my 1st used car under the seat and no one seemed to care when I cut my finger and ask them to remove it so I had to go down to dealership unannounced and ask them to service clean it again

2022-06-24Oh women choose cars like they choose men. Theyll pick good looks over a car thats good for themA salesman blatantly laughed and said after I had told him that the sporty interior of a car didnt feel right for me. I went in summer of 2021 looking for my first car. Efficiency and safety was my priority but of course I wanted a car that matched my liking if I was going to make this big purchase. Felt unsupported and disappointed by the disrespectfully misogynistic jokes made. Terrible car buying experience, left immediately, It still irks me to this day

2022-03-31My husband and I have been to several Toyota dealers in Bay Area, but in all other places seemed like didn’t want to work - they wouldn’t explain anything to us or pay attention.Buying a car is a big deal, and we wanted someone who paid attention to us and our needs. Jun Quiazon was super attentive, answered all our questions and has a great sense of humor, which is a bonus! If you live in Bay Area, you should come to this dealer and buy with Jun!Thank you so much Jun and Toyota Daly City team for the amazing experience!

2022-06-26I went there for an AirBag recall. The staff at the check-in counter was unprofessional and rude. Due to some reason they had the wrong visit purpose in their system. When I asked for the manager, they told me I have to wait for an hour and refused me AirBag recall service. I received a call from them later the same day telling me that I missed my appointment. Unprofessional, unemphatic, rude, and disorganized!

2022-06-23Came into the dealership to reserve a car and was put onto the waitlist. Told me it was about a 3-6 months wait. About 5 months goes by, I contact the internet sales person to see where I am at on the allocation. Bad customer service, didn’t take the time to research and for whatever reason I’m not in the system. The response I got was “I’ll look into it”. Yeah sure.
