So... I throughly enjoyed myself. There are cute decorated trees for all kinds of causes, groups, and remembering family members. Also the historical aspect of this event is pretty dang cool! Theres cute vendors, with waffles- snowman hot chocolate- kettle corn- hot dogs- and candy. Theres pictures with Santa. You can do sleigh photos, and be Santa.. the options are endless. Its great for kids, wonderful date spot. Certainly all around family friendly.
A fun filled place to go to in San Jose in December. Lots of rides for kids of all ages, lights and decorations, models, miniatures, and of course food stalls where you can get funnel cakes and such. There is no entrance fee and nearby parking is available.Weekends are pretty crowded but weekday evenings are very light and ideal time to go. You can easily spend a few hours here.
Well Im sure there are really long lines when the sun goes down, but if you get there too early its a bit of a disappointment (My ticket was for 430pm but we got there at 400pm and had to start early so didnt see much holiday light action). But you can see the decorated Christmas trees well.
This is a great event, with lots to see and do.The displays are fun in daylight, and the trees and landscaping come to life at night. Id recommend going about forty-five minutes before sundown, and seeing the best of both worlds. One of the nicest free events Ive ever attended.
Went yesterday at 6:30pm and waited in line for about an hour. We followed the directions sent by email and had no problem at all. Make sure you click the link and read all the instructions before heading out.It takes a lot of work and lots of man power to put together this kind of light show during this difficult time. Thank you, City of San Jose, we had a good time.
I always love coming here for the Christmas tree decorations. Especially I love it because of there hot chocolate! It’s a must for this place. Really bummed that they closed on the day of Christmas 2018 it’s usually open until January. I always spend an hour here. Will be returning in December 2019!!! There was a Christmas tree of coco my favorite!
Really wonderful and happening place to be, carnival is going on right now (25th dec, 2019).lots of good eats, I had delicious waffles and hot dog. This place is full of life and people. Bonus: free parking tool 26th dec @ San Pedro parking garage/lot. Thank me by liking my review. Good place for kids, if you have any. Best place for youngsters to hangout with friends and family. Dont miss this. Ride tickets are 4$ per person and unlimited ride costs 20 $
This has been a long time tradition in downtown San Jose. Every year they put up wonderful Christmas trees and wonderful working mechanical displays. This is my 27 year coming out to see it. Only one of a handful of times in the day.The only draw back I see is it has become super commercial with advertisements everywhere!!! Its my opinion that the supporting companies should have one sign with all their names on it and not their business names throughout all of the displays. Also there is some nasty smells coming from the concession area. this area should be kept clean at all times. Its still a great place to visit but for those who have never been but its only shell of what it used to be.
Had an awesome time with my son during the 2018 Christmas season. Great atmosphere, entry is free but for all the rides prepare to shell out 20$ (single rides for 3.5$), but try to stay away from the individual sellers as theyll rip you off! Overall, great location, just next to San Antonio VTA station in downtown SJ! Must visit place in town, especially if you have Christmas crazy kids and teens! Wish you all a very happy and merry Christmas!
Must visit park. Lot of fun. We really enjoyed.Located in down town San Jose. Full of lightnings, rides. Lot of attractions for every age group. Any one can enjoy. Many food stalls too.Mostly all rides are cash only. Make sure you have sufficient cash. There are ATM s too. But we never used.We visited yesterday. Park was decorated with around 1000 Christmas trees. Lot of small attractions. Rides. And so much lightning. A tallest christmas tree was main attraction. May be 20 feet. There is VTA station. I am not sure about parking in this place. You can use light rail. We went by Uber and returned by VTA.Now a days very crowded. Please take care of your little one. You must go and enjoy. I think only 2 days left. Till 25th December only. Not sure. And yes. Free entry.
Christmas in the park is just perfect. You instantly feel the Christmas vibes 🎄🎅🏼 and not to mention there’s an ice skating rink and bomb food. For me personally I made it a sibilings Christmas tradition were we go grab our super cute hot chocolate and walk around the little Plaza de Cesar Chavez and admire all the Christmas decorations. So if you’re not feeling like the grinch jkkk you guys need to check it out. You won’t regret it. Only thing to keep in mind is parking I would suggest to park in a parking garage and walk a little.😊
Love! A annual must! It is a favorite seasonal stop of ours. There are carnival rides ($$$), street eats & drinks (amazing Mexican Hot Choc., over-the-top Cocoa and more), ice skating, stage performances by local groups, lights, trees, old wooden animatronic displays, & so much more. We always do 1 night time stroll to see it all lit up & take in a show that we are interested in or a performance by a friend. We also do many day trips to look at the many hand-crafted and decorated trees. These are the MAIN attraction after all. They are always worth the trip! The overcrowding and littering in the evening hours are why we limit it to 1 night time visit.
Love making a day trip out here when the trees are up. Its nice to just walk through and see the decorations for and some of the bigger displays. Theres also an ice skating rink and several carnival rides for kids to do as well. Vendors selling snacks/hot chocolate are also available. There are several porta potties around and one central outdoor bathroom in the park, but there is usually a wait for that one lol
This is a great place to experience holiday cheer with family for a few hours. The hardest part was finding parking but it wasnt expensive, $12 for 2 hours we were there. There are carnival for type rides for children which cost $15 for an unlimited wrist band or $4 per ride. I was impressed by a 100% inflatable tavern for grown up beverages. Finally, the food vendors, my favorite part. 🙂
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and the beat place to be to celebrate! A yearly tradition that never gets old. The Christmas trees are bountiful. there must be over 100 trees to look at. I still love the animated designs with the bears, elves and moving characters to remind me of all the hard work that goes on for santa and his team. The hot chocolate with snowman is a bit steep at $7.50 but we did it anyway and enjoyed it all.
It got pretty cold but thats to be expected during this time of year. They had only one self cleaning toilet (that I could know of) and it was filthy. There was stained toilet paper all over the floor and the toilet itself was full of it. Also it kinda smelled like weed in there. They should really install more restrooms since the line got absurdly long. My mom went here many years ago and says that so much has changed now
The good: fabulous decorations, very festive and fantastic Xmas art. The bad: lots of people, everywhere. Am not one for crowds and jostling. Basically the wife wanted to go, so tagged along. But would much prefer to go to Vasona. But thats more my personal preference. If you dont mind crowds, may be worth a visit.
Super crowded; not classy; part Christmas feel, but mostly a fair feeling, with fair foods, long lines, juvenile rides for kids, and booths selling their over priced goods. A lot of their Christmas decor is super outdated and falling apart...embarrassing. Businesses can sponsor a tree which they can decorate - there were tons of them. If you want to enjoy the Christmas feel and a walk through the decorated Christmas trees - that part of the event will be pleasant - but plan to stroll just when it gets dark to avoid the most certain crowds.
For the first time its alright because its novelty but to be honest, theres not a lot to do and the things there are available will cost an arm and a leg. Its pretty crowded so navigating and getting food/drinks are pretty awful. Theres not much you can do about a popular attraction but that doesnt necessarily mean that it should be ignored. Other than that, its neat and is probably really refreshing for families with children.
Nice little park to walk around with family and friends. There are also a carousel, Ferris wheel, ice rink. Plenty of street vendors to buy churros, kettle corn, hot chocolate, and hot dogs. There a Christmas trees, various decorations, and nativity scenes throughout the Park to take pictures.
They have a few rides at $3.50 each. $20 for unlimited. The large ferris wheel and roller coaster are good rides.I came early morning around 1230pm and the carnies arent at their stations so most rides weret open. Went to this ride and this lazy carnie sitting comfortably under his umbrella said my daugter is 1 inch too short. I was 80 feet away. He doesnt get paid per rider. Carnies would also smoke in front of kids.
It was a fun experience. There were many stands selling wide variety of foods and warm beverages. There were also some thrilling games. The christmas tree in the center was huge and beautiful. Wishing well was made unique, making children want to toss some spare pennies into it.
We did the drive thru Christmas in the park and I must say it was nice but last year it was much better. In that sense my kids and I were a little disappointed, we expected the same experience as last year and didn’t get that . I know there’s 2 events this year and that’s probably why the drive thru had so much less attractions than last year, but still disappointing if you compare it to last years drive thru . I probably would have passed on this event had we known it wasn’t going to be a great as last year . Still was a nice experience if you didn’t see it last year you won’t know what your missing so you may enjoy it .
Way too busy. Hold hands with your kids and get ready to say excuse me all night. Lights look beautiful but not worth it lines for food where crazy. Maybe it you want to go on a date with someone. Parking was a zoo..Santa was free and the lines was short sorry San Jo just too busy for me.
I’m giving 3 stars simply because my family and I drove over an hour to the drive thru; and while the kids still had a good time seeing all the lights, I was a little disappointed with this years drive thru. Last years was 2x better and longer. This year we were in and out, I’d say, within 10 minutes! Still a nice little family outting though.
This is for the Christmas in the Park drive thru at Raging Waters. We were excited to hear there was no waiting this year....turns out thats because its maybe 15 min and a basic zig zag though the parking lot before you are done. The synchronization was great, but it was underwhelming compared to the very fulfilling experience last year. $30 is an ok price for the experience, but here again last year wins with the cheaper entry. It took us 30 min to get there from Campbell, and will take 30 to get home.
Came down from south san Francisco. Parking lots were confusing to find. But once in the lot, plenty of parking in the upper levels.cost me $7 to park all day. The park had tons of decorative Christmas trees . But it was hard to enjoy them because the the amount of people walking. The park was dirty with overflowing trash cans and food wrappers scattered on the floor. I think this will be a one time visit. Wasnt impressed.
We bought tickets for the second day of opening and while we did have to wait well past our time slot to get in it was worth it. The light show was amazing and if you turn the radio to 93.1 the lights perfectly sync up with the music. I missed the hot chocolate and goodies they sold at the previous Xmas In The Park but I appreciate the effort put into adapting this into something we could all safely enjoy during these times.
A great new version in 2020 as a drive though. The radio station music was synchronized to the lights. The first part had all the little booths youd see at the old Christmas in the Park, with mechanical animals and such. The second part was a historical/Victorian era place. This is where the community trees were. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience. If only theres a way to make the people in front of you keep moving.
We arrived a bit early for our 5:00 start time. I had read a lot about traffic jams but had no trouble getting there. It wasn’t as dark as I would have liked for the first half but pretty good for the second . It was very well done. A lot of effort went into it and it showed. Music on the radio station was perfectly synced to the lights. I recommend this to anyone.
Awesome experience during the COVID-19 era. This amazing light show was 100% worth the drive through and ticket. This year, it was set up the synchronize an impressive array of lights to Christmas songs played over the radio. Of course the Christmas trees from sponsors are still there, but the highlight of the drive is the light displays. Staff were all very well organized and safe. Highly recommend if they do something like this again! Remember to bring snacks and use the bathroom beforehand, since the entire experience may take over an hour or so (but still very much so worth the wait in line!).
The displays were great much like Fantasy of Lights. They really dont have the logistics figured out yet as getting in there is a total mess. If they do this again next year they really need to work on that. We waited to get in for over an hour and the tour was just over 30 minutes. We still enjoyed it.
Wow! Very impressed with this event once we got inside (more to come in the line). The event was everything you would normally see and then some. The light show synced to music in your car was nothing but impressive. This was a whole new experience. Turn after turn you found some old and new experiences including a live nutcracker scene and even Santa! The drive experience took us about 45 min once in and worth every moment. Now the bad new, the line. We went on a a Friday night, arrived 20 minutes ahead of time with our tickets set for 6:45pm. Once we arrived, we learned there was only one way in, one line to get in and opposite of the way we were going. It stretched back to the highway, about a mile. Expect 30-60 min before you even get in. This was crazy to me and having two young kids became a challenge to manage the when are we there questions. Recommend bringing snacks, entertainment (coloring or screens) and a portable potty for any young ones as there is no place to go and your not allowed out of the car. Not sure how you can avoid this line, perhaps go during the week and close to sun down.
Can’t believe they’re still making this a drive through event. Majority of this county is vaccinated. It’s just lazy workers at this point. Will never spend my money here or recommend this place to anyone I know until it’s in person again. Save your money and go to fantasy of lights!
Lots of beautiful and fun displays. Enjoy looking at all the trees decorated by different groups and schools and foundations. Yummy food and hot cocoa (bit expensive but not more than expected for an event like this. Some good entertainment. Now has a few different rides for the kids.Overall a good time if you are OK with the crowds. Better to bring a baby carrier than a stroller, if you can.
2020 is different, so was Christmas in the park. Great lights and well laid out drive-by route. Ample of lights and matching music at 93.1 FM to be enjoyed while staying in the car.Takes about 30 mins after entering the actual lights area but wait before that can be huge as cars gets backed up.
The Hot Chocolate is the main reason we come. It’s always really crowded, and the ride prices are a bit high for carny rides, but the kids love it. It’s great when they have live music and vendors out. It’s fun going with a group and just hanging out. Parking isn’t too bad, we park in the garage around the corner and it’s $10 for the night.Get the snowman got chocolate!!! It’s affordable, delicious, worth the price and the best part of Christmas/New Years! Our yearly tradition that won’t change!!!!

We typically do Los Gatos Fantasy of lights in December but didn’t get tickets in time. But Christmas in the park had many more open slots so we went here instead this year. The two are quite different and each brings something different so happy to have visited this year. Many of the displays are very old and a tad creepy but I think most kids would look forwards to seeing their favorites year after year. It was also well managed and Covid safe. Staff were able to scan the ticket through our car window.A couple of things that would make this better: 1. find a way to reduce the queue. 2 hours wait is really too long. 2. With that in mind - access to toilets would have made a difference. 3. The sponsors names are often more prominent than the display itself.
This event seems nice but I was not able to actually enjoy the experience. The main issue is the lack of traffic management. Expect to wait at least 3 hours after you arrive at your scheduled time slot. Arriving early did not make a difference. Cars are driving all over the road, cutting others off, and blocking intersections. It was similar to the roads before a huge concert except without the traffic management.
I was pleasantly pleased with the drive thru lights in San Jose. I wasnt expecting it to be so good. We typically go to the Los Gatos light show but the kids enjoyed it so much we will probably go back to this light show again. Line was short and coordinated well. Staff was super nice. Lights were new, updated and beautiful. Homeless people were camped out at the entry leading into the event but once inside, it was wonderful. The Christmas songs on the recommended station were on repeat and great. However, perhaps they can add a few more to the list in the future. The live Santa was such a treat. Definitely put us in the Christmas spirit. I highly recommend.
A wonderful idea, poorly executed. Upfront communication is misleading (info on the ticket vs info on the website), traffic management is non-existent, wait times (40min driving around with not even making it into the actual 6 block queue!) are off limits. The experience might be nice but for an event that is mainly built for families with young children the horrible organization is a no-go. I feel sad writing this because I am convinced a lot of people put their heart into building this drive through but it’s just not realistic to expect a toddler or young child to sit in the car waiting for two hours before the show even starts.
This event should be nice but it is very poorly managed that it was not possible to even enter the park. I purchased a ticket on Dec 9 around 7:45. The drive-through line was more than 7 blocks and it took me more than 40 mins to move forward just 1 block. I gave up. Didnt deserve the time to wait in line for hours. My guestimation is you should expect to wait in line for at least 2.5 hours for this horrible traffic management. Hope this share is helpful when you make decision.
We had so much fun!! Be prepared to wait to get in. When driving in, come from Tully to turn onto Senter. If you come from 280, there is only one Uturn that is going to get crowded quickly.Once in, the line moves but if you come after 7 your wait time can be up to an hour to get into the park. The whole experience is about 25 to 30 mins, and they do have a play list that is about 10 songs that is synced to the lights.Santa is there to wave at the kids but youre not able to stop to visit and get your pictures with Santa this year. The Christmas in the Park team did an amazing job with savings this Christmas tradition this year for us to enjoy.
For the twilight hour pricing, its ok. I probably wouldnt enjoy staying in traffic during the later evening rush for double the price. The drive through is obviously not the same experience as previous years, but at least it brings a little holiday spirit to families looking for safe activities.
We took our baby boy to see Christmas in the Park yesterday. We got there on time but the line of cars was over 1 mile long with people trying to get in from all directions. It looked like we would have had to wait hours to get in and see the attraction, which would have been way past our little one’s bed time. When I emailed them about a refund, they said they don’t issue any refunds even though they are the ones who failed by overselling and poor logistics. They should be ashamed to be making thousands of dollars off of people having such a bad experience or not being able to see the lights at all!
VERY crowed.. Great Mexican hot chocolate. Street hot dogs that are better then they should be. Very fun to look at all the trees that have been done up by local schools and organizations. Didnt go on the rides or ice skating but they looked like a good time. Definitely worth going to once a year. Free admission is nice too.
Not worth the very long wait to get in. The first part was weaving through a parking lot with some slightly moving dioramas that looked like Disney park rejects. The second part was a bit nicer, where you drove through an area with decorated buildings and then a long line of Christmas trees done up by different local groups. I was hoping there would be more interesting stuff done with all of the led lights, like large sculptures, but they were all simplistic flat shapes stuck in the ground. Also, the audio quality from the radio was garbage, even if you liked the twelve songs on their looping playlist, they sounded gritty and garbled at times, so we kept the radio down. The cars around you can also really hinder your enjoyment. We were in front of a huge pickup truck that had its high beams on right behind us. I dont know why the organizers werent asking everyone to turn off their car lights, you could see just fine without them, and it was pretty junky to get a face full of headlights behind us and at every turn.
Very nice as they tried to combine Christmas in the Park and the Los Gatos event We couldnt get tickets for the latter. but we had a 8:00 appointment and didnt get started in the display until about 9:15 as the line started at Tully Road and even when you turned into the park it was 15 minutes more.
Poor traffic control for the drive in event. It was backed all the way up to Tully. The intersection was really dangerous with all the cars stuck in the intersection trying to fit into the one lane. They need to designate two lanes for the event or issues fewer tickets. Took 1-1/2 hours to go one mile. And then once in the park we waiting almost another hour before we could drive through the lights.
Our time window was 5pm on the second day of the event. We arrived just before sunset, so there was still light in the sky. So for the first part of the event the light in the sky made the Christmas lights not be as bright, but the second half the sky was dark and the lights were amazing. Doing it this way meant that there was almost no traffic getting into the event.
An annual tradition! They changed up the layout slightly, allowing visitors to be able to walk amongst the trees. This was a great add-on feature. Otherwise, I noticed some new displays mixed in with the old ones, and I like how the displays are being updated. We went doing an off time, so there wasnt a whole lot of people around.
While this place is really crowded there are many fun activities to engage in. We decided to walk around and check out different Christmas trees and houses by the community and they were all very nice. Nothing was spectacular, but they did capture the holiday spirit. The crowds made it really hard to try any food without an excessive wait, but thankfully there are plenty of options around. Worth checking out if you are in the area, but I would drive far for the experience
Really fun night in downtown San Jose! Really busy and it was great seeing everyone walk around even a few days after Christmas. I added a picture of my favorite Christmas tree: the Bahn-Mi tree 😂. Id highly recommend all ages to go and attend next year. A great date night.
The same exhibits from when I was a child, except re-imagined for the new generation. It was fun to walk around and point out which animatronics used to be what back in the 90s.Gets super crowded around 6pm, so plan accordingly. The Snowman hot chocolate is almost worth the $7 for a large, however the apple cider was pretty week. The funnel cake is good, just need to wait for it.All in all, the same its always been... Just different. Give it a go at least once.
Cute little park decorated well for Christmas. Lots of Christmas trees are put by schools, near by companies and organizations. Food stalls are available - hot dogs, fries, kettle corn, hot chocolate, etc. There are few games for kids and adults including ferris wheel. Ice skating is also there for almost 2 months. Over all its a fun place to hang out with family. Decor is beautiful and lit every where.
Very good experience. Lots of different kinds decorated Christmas trees. So much of thinking and creative in each one of these. The big Christmas tree is always something you will want to take pictures. Lots of rides and fun activities for kids. Little too crowded but that is always expected from place like this. Parking is a problem but you can look for paid lots around. If possible, take light rail.
Very beautiful park in the heart of san jose, with a tree display made by the community, lights, music, and decorations! its free to walk around and enjoy but rides, food, and ice skating cost money. there are stations set up for local donations.it’s very crowded even on weekdays, but we usually just park a couple blocks down (most curbside parking is free at nighttime) and walk there, or you could pay for a parking garage.it’s always a super fun experience even if you’re just walking around, i highly recommend stopping by for a bit, whether it’s with your family or for a date night.
Lots of Christmas Trees and Displays to see. Large crowds kind of kill it, best time to go is during the week. The over priced snow man hot chocolate is the best. I noticed the same people walk around the park picking up the fallen snow man on the ground, I just hope they don’t work at the hot chocolate stand.
Recommend to avoid this place on weekends due to enormous crowd. The park is beautifully decorated and holds some sort of exhibition of Christmas trees decorated by local schools, institutes and companies. There is a bunch of simple attractions for kids. The food is meh.
If you bought a ticket for this event and you are visiting San José from far, you must have a lot of patience and wait in a 7+ blocks car line. The management for the event is poor and many cars on the streets were causing chaos and road rage drivers is a different case.Very bad experience, I had to drive couple hours to get there and wait for 3 and 1/2.I know is COVID time but San Jose City could do it better. No worthy.
Christmas in the park is one of the best places to take your kids. They got different things to look at they even got ice scating and games for kids. They also got food stands where you can buy coffee, hot chocolate, cider, hot dogs. The parking is not free. Parking cost are about $10 to $20. Sometimes there are a lot of people and its better to go when its less busy.
It was nice. The only thing that annoyed me were the people who kept aggressively asking us to buy hot dogs. They were cooking them and selling them. They made the whole experience feel like a restaurant/retail experience instead of coming there to enjoy the sights and celebrate Christmas
We reserve a spot drove a hour and a half where we saw a line that it seemed like it never end first time coming to see the lights and last all we saw was the lights of all the cars horrible set up and it said to arrive 15 min before the reserve time which we did 30 min early will never ever ever come or reserve why reserve if you have to wait in a never ending line
Such a unique experience around the holidays in the middle of San Jose. Tons of animated and moving displays, vendors, great food and snack items, the best hot chocolate, and you can even visit Santa. There is cheap parking and decks nearby with ♿ handicap accessible parking.
We bought drive-in Christmas in the park for Saturday 7:30pm time slot when they just opened their ticket sales. We drove 40 minutes to get there around 7:00pm, but the line was just too long to wait for with a toddler in the car. (The lines were about 7 blocks) We had to come back home. They refund back but we wish we could go on time rather than wasting our trips back and forth for 1:30minutes for nothing.
I come by myself because I used to come with my oldest daughter Samantha, Shes been missing for 14 months now..I wish I could see her at Christmas!! Always nice to see all the happy Familys. Just dont come on the weekend at night!! Unless u like your ankles run over by strollers! Lol Merry Christmas San JO!!🇺🇸🎅🤶🎄🎁
Avoid coming here at night on weekends. Its way too crowded.Park at Adobe for $8. Nice Lobby to take picture. Also, take kids to restroom prior to leaving garage.Dont buy light toys for $10. Those are usually only $3Buy kettle corn.Check out ice skating.Starbucks and pearl tea close towards sjsu
Wonderful atmosphere! I recommend going in the evening to see the lights. Also, try to go on a weekday. Weekends are packed. This year they have set a world record for having the most illuminated Christmas trees in one location, 600! We parked in the San Carlos garage.
It is evident with the 3+ hour delay that the event was over-sold causing traffic backlogs past Tully Road. We attempted to arrive an hour early (6pm for our scheduled 7pm time slot); expecting traffic and yet the streets were so clogged, blocking intersections and causing unsafe conditions, it would have taken us hours (past 9pm) to even arrive close to the event. Complete waste of time and money.
A perennial event that kicks off every year during the Thanksgiving holiday and extends through the start of the new year. Located at and around Plaza De Cesar Chavez, it first began a few decades ago as Christmas displays and then later expanded to include a carnival with rides and games. It makes for an enjoyable time, particularly for younger folks. But gets quite crowded during the evenings. Be patient and soak it up.
I have an amazing moment with the jazz concert, I was for a short moment but I really enjoy that surrealistic and and amazing moment. I knew hat this kind of event is every Thursday during summer and its very relaxing and wonderful for the community and I thinks is the best way to keep a very good family union and also the best way to keep our children away from bad things and against to the violence in the city
It is really a fun place to visit this Christmas in park, located in Downtown San Jose. There is a giant Christmas tree and several other decorations. There are several rides for children. They also have several performances in the Christmas in the park. Great place to visit.

2021-12-26This is such a fun little place to go to with the family. Beautiful Christmas tress and decorations. Little houses and villages. Wrist bands were $15 for unlimited rides. Id say the rides are good for 9 and younger. My 9 year old was getting a little bored with them, but my 6 and 7 year old had a blast. Stands for food and little light Souvenirs and stuffed animals. And the hot chocolate was AMAZING

2021-12-21This place is beautiful. If you’re into the Christmas spirit this is definitely a place you would like to try out. The hot chocolate is amazing highly recommend if you like sweetness flavors. The reason, I am giving the place a four star is because of how overwhelming it can get with all the people. There isn’t much management going on. Very easy to loose your children, you’ll need to be in back of them every second. There was so many people the day we went before Christmas week (1 week before) I’ve gone before as soon as they open the park the first weeks. I would recommend going before it gets this crowded up. The line for the rides was at least 40 minute wait time. They have beautiful tress around the park and plenty of food items,(junk food) make sure you’re ready to wait in line. Overall, a great experience in the past and this previous time. Great, for walking, viewing and spending some family time.

2021-12-20I always look forward to Christmas in the park every year. I have been coming to this place for the last eight years! It has became one of my favorite Holiday Tradition. I was pretty bummed out when in 2020 they didnt have this Christmas in the park here. They did a drive-thru at History Park because of the Pandemic.I was super excited that this year they brought it back to this location.During the day, where it is definitely much better, it was absolutley alot easier for me to find a parking space.Much lesser people and plenty of room to walk around and look at all of the beautiful Color of Christmas. At night it is quite difficult to find parking because it is located on Market street in downtown San Jose. However, all the pretty Displays, Characters and Christmas Trees are lit up and everything comes to life!I absolutely love this beautiful winter Wonderland! It makes me happy and brings a heart-warming joy to my heart every Holiday season!A very Delightful experience!Lovely and Charming, Christmas in the park will continue to excite and warm my Spirit of the Holidays for many more years to come!!

2022-01-01Ive lived in Silicon Valley for mostly the last 25yrs and somehow missed this event. I dont think San Jose promotes it 1/10 of what it should.I was there tonight, New Years Eve (it goes on until Jan/2). It was the biggest surprise in downtown San Jose (for me)!A complete WONDER of setups, beautifully decorated, most with motorized dolls or features. Some were with real people, or both. Felt like a mini Disneyland at night! My FAVORITE find. Check out the caboose and reindeer, center ground. Get a picture taken of family, your kids, you and your sweets, on a sleigh w/ Rudolph, with various backdrops by an artist! Mine, I look like Im flying trying to hold on to the back of the sleigh! You can get Christmas cards, or even paintings, I wish I knew about this at Thanksgiving, they do it every year.OMG! If you love hot chocolate, youre not going to be disappointed! What I found interesting/funny... There was also a huge blow-up beer/wine tent I walked threw. Inside, at night at least w/o ambient light, it felt like you were in a real establishment (thats the funny part). OK, maybe a cartoonish LOTRS pub, but pretty cool with uptight wine barrel tables, ha!LOTS of various other fare food but highly upgraded in that respect.OH! AND THERES A TEMPORARY SKATING RINK! -Across the street between the steakhousesAnd onward...I think it is an incredible thing for families and children. Its a GREAT thing for even an adult that has lived here on/off for 25yrs.Maybe a great place for a 1st date. Or, given the number of great restaurants across the street or within a few blocks, enough to entice a second, or is it a third?I met with those different groups tonight, friends, friends married, with kids, singles. I shouldnt leave out teenagers. Im older than that last now, but we all enjoyed the evening.Happy New Year, yawn...

2021-12-17It was soooo good to be back at Christmas In The Park. The layout has changed a lot and there are new additions as well. They have a wine and beer tavern for adults. Tons of food throughout the park. I noticed that there were less trees the previous years, but more paths were created to walk through. It breaks up the walk which is nice. There was a section set up for movie in the park. We watched Elf while we were there. The center tree is a walk through tree which has replaced the original. New displays were set up and tons of people were there. Parking is always a challenge, I recommend going early. But after missing this last year, it feels like Christmas is back yall.

2021-12-20First time being here and I loved it. A bit crowed but that is to be expected during this time of year. It was great seeing majority of people wearing their masks.

2021-11-27Great holiday event for the young and old. Ice rink with the tree lighting and several programmed events makes it a great time for a family outing. Everything from a community stage for small event programs to hot cocoa stand and a new tavern for other beverages. Parking may be tough so plan ahead for a couple locations.

2021-12-14Every year this is one tradition I always look forward to. Walking through the decorated trees, sipping on a Mexican hot chocolate, and eating a fresh churro. This San Jose staple signifies it is officially Christmas time!
