Made a trip to disneyland for my sister’s birthday, so we decided to make reservations for dinner here. everything went smooth with the seating they asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside (balcony) we ended up sitting outside which i totally recommend! Our waitress was Yadira, her service was absolutely amazing! She was very attentive and made sure that we were good and taken care of. She made the experience for us 10x better and she even brought out a complimentary dessert for my sister since it was her bday. The food was great I got the skirt steak and the broccoli that came with it was delicious!
Pan con tomate (pictured) was not worth any part of $10. The Wedge was delicious, highly recommend! The burger was huge, thankfully, because it was $28 (pictured, we added egg for $3 more)! Mixed reviews from our group-some highs and lows. A tiiiiiiiny spicy margarita for $17 ($22 after tax and tip for 7oz of liquid, haha)...even at Downtown Disney that seems kinda crazy. The food all arrived so randomly. Our appetizers arrived about 2 minutes before 1/2 of the entrees arrived...the other half of the entrees arriving 6-7 minutes later....then a salad arriving another 4-5 minutes. So weird. Lastly, the outside table are bare...for how expensive the restaurant is at least throw a white linen table cloth on the table and put a candle on top. In the end, just too expensive for what you get. Won’t go back but left full and the flavors were good-salty, but mostly good.
Stopped by today and went up to the bar to ask if kids were allowed in the seating area and the bartender asked do you need something? Another bartender was very friendly and answered my question. We went to get in line and Meg the hostess told us it was a 25 minute wait for a shaded seat so we decided not to stay. Turns out she seated the family right after us at a shaded table. Unfriendly staff today!
Ive had better Paella at Chinese restaurants. The most overrated and hyped restaurant Ive ever been to, and its not the most expensive.People have this place marked as a must eat .. this place is the epitome of tourist hype. My recommendation: find a real chef, add some flavor to your food then MAYBE you can charge your grotesque cost/dish.It was eatable, hence the 3 stars.
So, was the second person to check in for a 5 pm reservation. How do I know this, because the hostess just got there and was setting up and I watched everyone check in after me. Quite literally everyone was called who had checked in after me. Asked the hostess whats up because I have an appointment at the spa and it was the lamest excuse of upstairs hostesses tell who goes up. 20 minutes past my reservation and after bugging twice do I finally get called. Immediately ordered the filet because I had to go. The server was excellent. What wasnt excellent was my food. The filet had minimal seasoning, was cooked great. It was supposed to come with mushrooms and it came with totally different sides, tomato and zucchini meh. I think i had gnocchi? It tasted like bread mixed with a potato. It was very odd. Overall, besides the service from the server and the water person being top notch, it wasnt very good. Maybe treat your party of ones a little better than a party of 12 who arrived after everyone who had checked in but got seated first. Server was tipped about 40% for how quick he got me out of there and didnt judge. Give that guy a raise.
We ate here for a meal one night before going to the parks. It was my sons favorite meal of the trip - the burger and fries was fantastic. Menu options seemed limited - which seemed odd since the bar had a ton more options that werent available at the main restaurant. Overall solid experience and food.
Horrible receptionist. I had a reservation at 8 pm on 2/12/2022 and came in at 7:30 pm. She turned us away and asked us to come back 20 minutes later. We did. When we came back, she had us waiting past my reservation. She let other customers in who came in later than us with the same reservation time. My kids were all sleepy. The food came at around 9 pm. One of my kids ended up not having dinner. I do not recommend this place! I will not come back again. If I can give 0 star, I would have given 0.
If you go on the weekends, they serve brunch. The pancakes are AMAZING with the berries, condensed milk and cinnamon whipped cream. Also, the creme brulee is delicious. Im not a big fan of creme brulee but it reminded me of Filipino flan and the caramelized sugar on top was perfect.
Very few cuts of meat should ever be served bone in especially chicken, unless its a bbq joint. Food was tepid at best. Most items over-cooked. If you cant be fine-ish dining, dont. Contact-less menus are also tacky. Being polite and buried in a phone dont mix. Just an all around a waste of a dining experience. Wouldnt be back if it was free.
Food was delicious, staff was great! Juan was our server (told us he was being trained) and he did a really fantastic job, all of his recommendations were perfect and was very knowledgeable of the menu. Catal opened up 2 weeks ago after over a year of closure and have started up that fire of flavor again, definetly worth checking out!
Very pricey, Sangria just ok (no Brandy), mac & cheese meh, Octopus dish was all chirizo & potatoes, and no bread served ?? This food needs it.But then...Burger was one of the 5 best Ive had in my 52 years. Soo good.Brussels, Filet, Eggplant Croquettes were all very good. Service was very friendly.
We had a great night celebrating the end of finals. We ended up ordering two drinks a salted caramel martini, and a watermelon lemonade. The atmosphere was amazing and perfect for the Holidays! One of our steaks wasnt cooked properly, but they gave us a free Cesar Salad. Our Waiter Tyler was attentive. It was pricey, but if you have a night and want to be fancy it is a good match.
Touristy spot, decent food, tourist prices, better than expected! This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Disney, so my expectations going in was over priced food, dishes that look and sound fancy, with poor execution. The dishes did look and sound fancy, and it was quite expensive, however, surprisingly the food was quite tasty! So kudos on the execution! We ordered the calamari for a starter, kids both ordered flank steak medium rare, with fries and fruit, wife ordered the fish of the day which was a sea bass with crab cakes, and I ordered ox tail pappardelle. The calamari was tender, the breading was not overwhelming, and the accompanying sauce was a touch spicy and very flavorful, definitely recommend! The kids enjoyed their flank steaks with Sprites, I did not try it, but based on the speed at which the steaks were consumed I have to assume it was cooked decently.I tried a bite of my wifes sea bass, and I must say it was perfectly cooked, very flakey and just the right amount of seasoning, not too over powering where you couldnt enjoy the quality of the fish. I did not try the crab cake, but it did look good. For my main, the ox tail pappardelle, I thought that tenderizing the ox tail in a tomato sauce was quite innovative. I love the flavor of stewed ox tail so stewing it in a tomato sauce really made sense adding flavor to both the sauce and adding a nice tangy and sweet flavor to the ox tail, a very nice combination! The flat pappardelle noodles were also a nice compliment to the dish, since the heartiness of the tomato sauce and ox tail chunks matched well with the thick pappardelle noodles, each being able to hold up against the others.Wife also ordered a glass of white wine.Final damage done to my wallet including tax and tip was $160. All in all, quite an expensive dinner for 2 adults, 2 kids and a baby. However, the service was excellent, and the food was tasty. Not an everyday meal by any means, but I certainly enjoyed it and it was memorable!
The food was so good, delicious and fresh. There was no waiting time. We were seated within a minute. However, food took forever to come. The waiter was friendly but unprofessional. She Kept forgetting our orders. I received my soup in the last minute after everyone on the table had done eating for a while, and it was horrible and inedible looked like it was made on rash! I hadn’t eat more than a spoon from that soup. They charged us 18% gratitude which was not fair for the service that we got.
Pricey, even by Downtown Disney standards, but delicious with a very relaxing atmosphere. You wont save any money eating here, however it would be surprising if you didnt completely enjoy what you ordered. After a day in the Disney parks or even for a date night if youre in the area, this resturant has both hearty and light options that are full of flavor. No one ordered the burger, though from what we saw it did look good, instead indulging in pastas, risottos, and a few meat dishes. All was very satisfying!
The food was average. It was not horrible but certainly not anything special. The pancakes were fluffy and the bacon cooked perfectly. The potatoes were well seasoned. The omelette was a little overcooked. The service was good as well. The reason for the 3 is the price. The amount you pay for relatively small portions is not worth it. We will not be back.
Recently dined at this Spanish cuisine establishment with a friend. We had a meal that consisted of Deviled eggs as a starter, the traditional Paella for the main dish with a side of Bacon Mac & Cheese, and a glass of red Sangria. The meal tasted great! The service was friendly and attentive. Located in the Downtown Disney district, there is validated parking. We stayed in the district for 4 hours, dinner then strolling around, and the parking cost was $21. There is also airport style screening when you enter the Downtown Disney district (in place since Oct. 2018)
We’ve booked our table for 17:30. Host asked us to wait (in front of the entrance, no chairs, no water) a few minutes. After waiting for 40 minutes there we finally got inside and we’re quite surprised by how many empty tables we saw. It was not even 50% full! No apologies, no explanation.
5-STARS for Dinner but only 2-Stars for breakfast. My wife and I celebrated our 25th Anneversary at the Disneyland Resort and we started our celebrations with a wonderful dinner at the Catal Restaurant. The Stuffed Piquillo Peppers and Crispy Pork Belly starters were excellent. I got the house-made Sangria and it was only ok., nothing spectacular... We had the Prime Rib and Rack of Lamb for our main courses and both were very good if a tad expensive. The Creme Brûlée for dessert was one of the best we ever shared! So our expectations were high for a wonderful breakfast a couple of days later but we were hugely disappointed. The food was lackluster at best. Skip the breakfast here but enjoy a special dinner. On our anniversary night, we decide that the Creme Brûlée would be the perfect way to end the night so we hightailed it the Catal from the Carthay Circle Restaurant where we had dinner only to be told that the kitchen was closed.... Granted, this was a few minutes past 9, but the restaurant was half full of patrons and all we wanted was one Creme Brûlée to celebrate our 25th but no dice... The hostess wasnt gonna budge. I doubt Ill spend $180 for dinner there again...
This place was really good. The lamb chops were to die for, seasoned well with middle Eastern/Moroccan warm spices that perfectly compliment the tender meats, and balanced out with the tang of the yogurt.Absolutely not impressed with what they pass off as paella and the service was good, but nothing to really write home about. The ambiance was nice and the the decor was appropriate for the style of dinner. Dress up or down either is acceptable.
Mixed feelings about this restaurant, but cant recommend. Very convenient location from Disneyland, and very pleasant dining setting. Service was nice but too laid back and slow, especially for the prices youre paying. If youre a beer drinker, be wary, prices are high. Bisque was flavourful and had nice texture, but came luke warm. Deviled eggs were good, would recommend. Then onto our main disappointments. Ordered the Chef signature burger, a blend of several cuts of beef, medium-rare and received it raw in the center then dry and over-cooked on the sides. Greasy and unpleasant, accompanied by bland, Jenga stacked roasted potatoes. The Mediterranean salad was #basic at best. Some arugula slapped with a handful of colourful cherry tomatoes to distract you from the blandness. Overall, disappointed and overpriced. If youre on your last day of vacation and want a quaint send off, dont come here.PS some reviews might be mixed up with the burger bar outside, this experience was inside in the upstairs restaurant.
After a long day of Disney-ing we headed here for a nice food break. We were lead upstairs and started with sangria which was ice cold and so refreshing. Then we had the paella and the oxtail rage. Both were good, but the oxtail was a very small portion considering the price. They also came by and took our picture for one of those complementary postcards.
Very average. Nothing special. Quite overpriced for the quality of the food. The burgers were good, but $29. My paella at $46 was extremely mediocre. Not all of the patio al fresco dining had heaters. I had to ask for refills after running out of strawberry lemonade. I would not repeat this place.
Located upstairs from Uva, Catal has great service and delicious food. I highly recommend the bacon-wrapped dates and their Old Fashioned. They actually barrel-age their whiskey with sugar so its pre-infused, then top it with a Luxardo cherry (way better than standard maraschino cherries). Its a bit pricier than average restaurants, but worth it.
PROS: We were so well treated at this restaurant that we kept coming back. Fast served, delicious food and great drinks. Staff as courteous as it gets - we will not forget Cori or Monique who were sweethearts with us and our child. It is Downtown Disney and it was very close to our hotel.CONS: We felt a bit rushed after we got our food but the pros made up for it by far.IN SUM: We recommend you eat there :)VALUE FOR MONEY: Definitely good.
We had the filet mignon with sautéed mushrooms. It was the best meal Ive had in a while. The flavor of everything was amazing. The steak was perfectly cooked. Our server Josh was excellent. He even treated our daughter to a complementary dessert, with candle (which we all shared 😏) after he heard we would be celebrating her birthday a few days later. The whole staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was very average Im not going to lie. And cold. The server asked how it was before we could even taste it. The fries were great! My margarita was VERY salty and didnt have a lot of taste to it...they also had signs up saying it was happy hour but they didnt specify it wasnt on the weekends which was dissapointing as we didnt find this out till AFTER we got the bill. We wouldnt of had drinks if they were full price. There were signs everywhere advertising happy hour as well... Save your money and go to Tortilla Joes.
So, this is the place I chose to take my husband out for his 50th birthday, and to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Yes, the food is a little spendy, but you get what you pay for. Not to mention the waitress we had, sorry cannot remember her name, was simply delightful and her sweet customer service just made our special night out all the better. The steaks we had were flavorful and perfectly cooked...the fingerling potatoes were a perfect complement to the steaks, and the vegetables were amazing. If we didnt live in Arizona, this would be our restaurant of choice.
Service was great. Food good, but not worth the price. But nice servings. Able to split the paella, though rice was undercooked (some raw grains). Biggest issue was how they handle reservations. We checked in at 445 for a 5pm reservation. They make you stand outside with effectively a gated entry. Around 520 we got let in after standing outside for over 30 minutes. Lady said “it’s usually like this” but could provide no explanation as to why 5pm reservations were only let in in a gated manner into an empty restaurant with the entire wait staff just standing around when we got in.
The view was beautiful!!!!! everything seemed nice and fancy! its more of a place for singles to hangout at the bar ( I’m sure the drinks are good) It was a short waiting list and i see why!!!If you are just about the view and want to feel rich by eating at an overpriced place then its for you! I went there with my wife, my friend and his wife. we were seated right away.the waitress was extremely rude and condescending! she felt entitled and rushed my friend’s wife to order. (my wife and my friend’s wife are extremely petite and eat very little) My friend’s wife who is extremely wealthy actually ordered chicken from the kid’s menu. The waitress started telling her it was a bad choice and the chicken was plain and she should order the $37 chicken plate, so she did.My friend insisted that he was inviting us so we didn’t want to take advantage but the problem is there are only 4 choices on the entree!!!! 3 choices in the kids menu!!!My wife ended up ordering the chicken from the kid’s menu ($13 for plain small boiled chicken breast and fries) The waitress kept passively imply that it was a bad decision. I ordered a “steak burger” that was $30!!!!After 30 minutes of waiting the waitress came around and asked how we were doing with our drinks ( We ordered wine and my friend ordered liquor) I wanted to say good, did you catch the cow and chicken yet?? but i kept quiet. We saw two tables sit around the same time as us, eat and leave.45 minutes later the waitress apologized and said the food should be out soon. 15 minutes after that, she came back around and did not apologize but said that the manager will come around to speak with us for the time that it is taking. The waitress who seemed to have too much makeup, dressed with pants tie and button shirt, brought out the food passed an hour! 30 minutes into waiting we got a confirmation a table at another Disney restaurant was made available for us. We had no idea that it would take another half hour passed that!My friend is the passive non confrontational type, thank god his wife isnt!!!! If I did not agree with my friend to let him pay, they would have heard me!!!The waitress asked my friend if he wanted any sauce, he asked for A1 Steak Sauce. She had the audacity to tell him first eat a piece without the sauce you will ruin the authentic taste, then take the sauce if you need it.The manager came and apologized for the late service.I believe the manager waived the alcohol, gave a 30% . However, the food was room temperature like it had been just sitting around, the food was just AVERAGE! Definitely NOT worth the prices even at Downtown Disney!Like my friend’s wife said the discount and adjusting the bill was “ appropriate “Nice for the bill but if we wanted to spend less money we would have gone to Chili’s or something where the service would have been a million times better and the food actually is tastier there with more choices! While the kid’s chicken was horrible its not professional for a waitress to knock something from her own menu! tell us what you like and see what we think! dont tell us what you feel we should get with our money! dont rush your clients to order! we waited like everyone to get a table no matter how much time we waited. She explained to us a table came with over 10people so she sort of apologized. I understood very well she prioritized that table for more money more tips! probably why the manager gave my friend that discount to begin with! So its not that they took forever to prepare our food, they did it efficiently and left it in the kitchen while rushing to take care of a bigger group that came after us! I wish i knew the waitress name so I can tell you! That was one of the worst eating experience I have ever had! I’m 42 years old. I lived in Paris France 🇫🇷 I have eaten at the most expensive restaurants there, my parents moved to Beverly Hills when I was young! We have eaten at some of the most expensive exclusive restaurants that most do not have the opportunity to eat in a lifetime!
Although the main restaurant has a nice ambience we were moved to a fairly nondescript room with almost no character, even though we had a reservation. Not sure why this was the case but possibly because we had small children with us. The food was clearly over seasoned by which I mean very salty, as if they had forgotten that they already seasoned it once and seasoned it again. The main courses arrived at the while we were still eating our starters and when I mentioned that, the waiter just apologized and left them on the table anyway. Like all restaurants on the strip expect to pay double or triple what the food is actually worth.
Skuna Bay Salmon w/ English peas, fava beans, black sesame tahini & homemade chicharron. Wow, what a delight! The salmon was cooked to perfection. Moist & tender. Perfectly-sized portions, too. The fava beans & English peas added welcome texture to eat bite. The black sesame tahini was the perfect sauce, if you will, to spread on the salmon. The homemade chicharron capped the meal off. These werent crunchy like the bagged chicharrones you buy at the store. These were more of the consistency of nori, the seawood wrappers used for sushi rolls. Delish!Seating was plentiful. Next time, I believe Ill sit outside to people-watch & enjoy the view. I see Catal as being a great place to take someone out on a date. The decor was posh, the music low-key and the food sophisticated but not breaking the bank bad. I must come back to have the hamon Iberico & the bacalao. Ive been dying to try some since I first became aware of those culinary delights on Bizarre Foods w/ Andrew Zimmern.Service was sufficient & prompt. I didnt ask for much but my water was refilled & I was given information on the dessert offerings that Catal had available. To sum things up, I enjoyed my dining experience at Catal. My Skuna Bay Salmon appetizer was magnifique & I greatly appreciated the complimentary glass of wine. I most certainly will come back and go for the bacalao & hamon Iberico, which I stated earlier. Now, if I could only find a date......Highly recommend!NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
After a long day at Disney California Adventure it was a much needed change of atmosphere. We sat outside under a nice propane heater with Downtown Disney as a back drop. The Elder flower Spritzer was a refreshing cocktail. Bacon Wrapped Dates started us off right. The Oxtail Ragu was perfectly moist and tender satisfying our appetite. A Tres Leches cake was just what we needed to complete the night. Chad, our waiter, was attentive, friendly and did exactly as expected.
Honestly was very disappointed in our experience here. The food was mediocre at best, and not worth the very hefty price tag. The filet was not worth its $53 price tag, and the drinks were sad watered down $20 well drinks. The paella was some of the worst soggy mess we had ever tried. Sorry to say but steer clear of this one.
TBH the food and service here are mediocre and very overpriced for what you get. Our group had reservations and still took 45 mins + for the food. The paella is small, salty and way too expensive for what you get, plus there’s barely any seafood in it. When you pay $45 + for paella you expect it to be a serving for 2-3 people and that is not the case here. Their apps and salads are better. Also the servers spilled a whole bunch of stuff near us and got us and our shoes wet. Didn’t get an apology or anything for the inconvenience. Would never return to this ridiculously overpriced establishment w subpar food.
Kind of disappointed. After the reservations were made, I called and asked about gluten free and vegetarian options for dinner. The lady I spoke to was very nice and said that they always cater to dietary needs and theres nothing that they havent done before. She told me she would put a note on our reservation and that the chef would come to our table and let us know what options he came up with for dinner that night. We also told them that there was 2 birthday at the table. Upon check in, they did confirm the dietary needs and the birthdays at the hostess stand downstairs and upstairs. When the waitress came, she also confirmed the dietary needs and birthdays. When it came time to order food, we asked what we could have with the restrictions and she told me only the vegetable jambalaya with rice instead of whatever they usually use. So there was no chef coming to the table to give us multiple options. If they wouldve just said so on the phone when I called, then we wouldnt have expected more than the one dish. What a let down. And they did nothing for the birthdays. Again, just say we dont really celebrate birthdays here, instead of leading people on to think that you do. The food was ok, but not worth what they charge. They also only delivered half of the tables food and then asked if we were missing anything!! YES-- THE OTHER HALF OF THE TABLES FOOD! Lol! Couldnt believe it. You can also tell that they forgot about one of the mac and cheese orders because one was nice and golden brown and the other one had no color on it what so ever. They also bring your main entrees before youre even done with your apps. Slow it down! At the end, we split the bill evenly between 4 cards, but 2 cards havent been charged, one was charged 1/4 of the bill and the other card was charged the whole thing! Weve been trying to get ahold of them since, but no one is returning our calls.
I started a review under my wife’s account Rowesa but I ran out of room. I’ll summarize what I said there and go on from where I left off.The service was horrible! The waitress who sounded like she was from New York ( Condescending, rude, rushing , entitled)They prioritized a table that came after us and left our food in the kitchen and was room temperature almost cold ( 1hr after ordering)The manager gave us a big discount probably because they made that up with the table they prioritized.I lived in Paris France, Beverly Hills Ca, Boca Raton Florida, Carlsbad Ca and I have been fortunate to eat at some of the most expensive restaurants in my 42 years ( Spagio, Cheesecake Factory, Tony Roma’s, Chez Morris, La Petite Maison just to name a few) This had to be the worst dinning experience I’ve ever had in my entire life!!! We didn’t care about the discount; if it was about money we would have selected Cheesecake Factory which is cheaper believe it or not. The service was horrific, The food easily over priced, taste average EVEN for Downtown Disney!I will never ever step into Catal again!!! If you want to eat at Downtown Disney make reservations somewhere else! We did but we were not patient and thought Catal would be worth it! Don’t make our mistake! Don’t wait until you’re hungry! Pick another restaurant, make a reservation, walk around Downtown until you’re rabid is ready! No to Catal! I don’t do reviews! I’m a positive guy naturally but I had too on this one!!! Worst ever! Oh the view is nice and the ambiance too. The bar looked nice if you drink
Patina group has partially gotten astray on ambience, pre-meal snack ... no music, very slow service, no warm bread due to covid? what ( weve been out to $40-50/ person restaurants for past 6 mos, every place delicious warm bread), food was excellent though. If it was not for the first 3 mentions, a 4th star would have been earned.
We ordered a shrimp salad and turkey club and they split everything for us. Good portions for the price. The shrimp was top notch and the turkey club was so yummy! That fit, sauce and bread was perfect! Yummy perfect fries too! ThanKs guys! We had a great time and nice servers too! must try
The worst restraint in Downtown Disney hands down! I came here specifically to have a drink and they served me a salt and lemon icee. So I requested a different drink so they gave me one with some unidentified floating objects in it! I also ordered a hamburger medium and that was very under cooked. Our waitress was actively ignoring our table as I waved at her she just kept walking! This place is absolute trash! Do not come here! Usually when you have more than one complaint the manager comes over to ask what happened ot here she is obviously above providing good customer service! This place is horrible! Its not until they notice im writing this review that they decided to try and make upfor their negligence!
Ate here the week CA finally reopened. The menu was abbreviated from its pre-covid time, but was expertly prepared and presented. The skirt steak was perfectly done (a real tribute to the chef). The salad with salmon was also excellent. Fantastic cocktails and a wonderful server made the experience so pleasant. Yes, pricey - but what isnt in Disney territory.
I think this is a really nice restaurant with a nice quiet view of downtown Disney. The kitchen was a little slow at getting the food out and that was my only issue. Our waitress was really sweet and attentive. The food was great! I got the short rib grilled cheese and really liked the flavor, though I wish there was a little less arugula and more cheese for a grilled cheese. Other family members got the chicken paella and really loved the size and flavor of the dish. Would go back for a special occasion but it is a little pricey!
5***** for the food, for the service, for the atmosphere! We had a wonderful evening! The balcony is fantastic - we were in the heart of Disney Downtown but at privet space to enjoy our dinner. The service was excellent, the food was fantastic. Dont miss that restaurant.
I ordered a burger Medium , pretty basic and 20.00 dollars, kind of expensive even by Disney pricing. I was delivered the most disgusting inedible meal. The burger was cooked way beyond well and it was caked with salt. It appeared like the lid on the salt came off and they put that side of the Burger on the bottom. The wait staff acted put out when I asked her to take it away, I herd the snide comments as she explained my issue to the manager. We never got any apologies for the salt caked burger and had to demand a refund. We had to wait almost 15 minutes to get the bill adjusted. Poor service, poor quality inedible food, Rude comments. This was a bad experience and I would not go back. I was walked 10 minutes outside the gate to eat at Panera.
Not a bad place if you are wanting a decent meal in the heart of Downtown Disney.Average atmosphere inside, though outside is top notch. Food is very good, however, we did ask for our chips to come with our main meals and they came out with our entrees. I had the Salmon which was terrific but the potatoes were a tad too hard.Overall, a good restaurant to have a meal and enjoy what Downtown Disney has to offer.
Our waiter was amazing, atmosphere was nice, location good but when dining out the food should be the star and unfortunately it was not. I dont mind paying for overpriced food but it should be flavorful and a well balanced meal. The Paella was like a rice side dish you buy in a bag, no flavor or seasoning, some of it overcooked and dry, others under cooked and crunchy rice. The lamb was tasty but very meager, served on 3 table spoons of couscous. Would not recommend to anyone looking for an enjoyable dining experience, unless they dont care what the food tastes like.
We went to down town Disney to enjoy the last few days of summer. Went to the Catal & Uva bar. Looks like it had good menu. We sit down and order drinks and appetizers right away. We were waiting for the 25 minutes when the waitress asks did you get your appetizers yet? ah no... 10 minutes later we finally got the appetizers. Now 45 minutes later I am asking about our order. The waitress went to go check and came back to apologize, by this time we are coming up on an hour since we ordered. They still havent put our order in. We got up and left. This was by far the worst service i have ever received. I guess I should have know when the waitress said if we are going put in an order for any steaks to make sure we have a 2nd option as they werent sure if there were any steaks left. They ruined our evening. We will not return!!. How do you not have steaks, this place is down town Disney. Poor Poor management!
The food took forever to be made and they drenched everything in lemon and it drowned out the flavor. I did not like the waitress we had was nice though. The food took 1 hour to make and we had our reservation at 8:15 and we left at 10 because of this. Would not recommend
My partner and I made reservations not knowing much about the place. The expectations we did not have were blown completely out of the water. It was so romantic. We watched the Disney fireworks show from our table on the balcony. The food was absolutely phenomenal. My partner remarked that she has realized that she has never in fact had paella before, because anything she had before was clearly not real paella. Our server, Tyler C, was exceptional in every way. He was attentive without being obtrusive. He was charming and well versed in the menu. He made excellent recommendations. The wine list included some particular favorites of mine. And the creme brûlée was perfect. There is a dearth of good creme brûlée in the world. There’s a chance I may leave my partner for theirs. It was that good. If you are considering dining here, do not hesitate. I cannot say enough good things about our experience and I cannot wait to come back
Been here a few times, finally decided to write a review with our last visit. Oh, and all but one of my visits have been for the outside bar area. Not the inside sit-down area.Overall this place is legit. The cocktail menu is good, and the bartenders dont skimp on the core ingredients. Food menu is solid. Enough rotation to come back and try something new, but not enough to miss anything. Every time the hostess/waitress/bartenders have been personable. The only thing i can really knock this place on are the wait times. This is not without reason tho. Realistically, this is downtown Disney. Theres gonna be lines, theres gonna be a wait on food. It would be unreasonable to just deem this place slow, not the case. That being said prepare yourself to wait to sit down, prepare yourself for plenty convo time before you eat. Once you get over that (which I have) I would definitely come back--and have, and I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Meh...location is nice, but food is nothing special and way overpriced. The menu is limited. We went for lunch, they were out of salmon, and dont have egg whites for the omelette. Went with a salad. My husband ordered the shrimp salad with asparagus. He got 4 pieces of shrimp, 2 pieces of asparagus and a bunch of lettuce for $23! I got the Spanish salad with arugula and added chicken for $25. Ridiculous. Calamari appetizer was chewy and pricey. And dont get me started on the drinks. $20 for a 6oz margarita, loaded with ice. A huge disappointment. No urge to go back.
This was by far the best dinning experience I have ever had. We went out for a birthday celebration, and since we had never tried Mediterranean cruise we gave it a shot. Made quick reservations over the phone and small requests. All the employees were very friendly and greeted you, on the way in and out. The restaurant overall had a great ambiance. Our waiter, Ryan, was extremely helpful with the knowledge of the menu and his recommendations were simply amazing. As we were having dessert, the fireworks went off at 9:30 PM, Ryan kindly asked if we would like a better view and moved us right to the center stage. It was a wonderful experience and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back!!
Wait times for breakfast were RIDICULOUS, we waited almost 30 minutes for some French toast and pancakes. We asked for the manager and the server said she was busy!Food eventually came, manager brought it out, and the manager was rude and didn’t even give us the time of day to talk to. How rude!Would not come back at all, for a restaurant that’s in downtown Disney, your standards need to be higher.Food was good, even though it came 30 minutes after we ordered!
This place has a great Spanish vibe and decor to match. Service is friendly and competent, as it always is at Disney. The meal it self, however, was a bit of a letdown. The paella was nicely flavored but runny with undercooked rice and missing the best part, the socarrat. Appetizers and dessert were OK, but nothing left you wishing for seconds.
We always try new things and new places every visit. Do not know why we waited so long tho eat at Catal, and to experience the top notch and attentive service from Devon?? We loved this place we came back the second day for happy hour- 3-5 pm...The food was amazing, the bacon wrapped dates were so good. Deviled eggs are another fantastic dish. Garlic parm. fries .. so good!! We had the sliders, Manchego salad so fresh and cooked to perfection, crispy chicken buffalo wrap had great flavor and wonderful cook..Devon was a true delight, so pleasant, informative and fun.. Cannot wait to eat there again and hope to see Devon on our next trip.. Cheers
My wife and I visited Catal for dinner and drinks and were sat on the open balcony. The service & atmosphere was incredible, and the food was delicious. Catal had an excellent selection of beers, and made a very tasty red sangria. After dinner we went out to sit in the bar/patio area for a couple of more drinks. Here I ordered a Mule drink which they have on tap, it was pretty disgusting. Aside from that it was a terrific experience.
Limited menu but well-prepared. There is a chefs tasting menu with 4 different wines. If I had been with a different group, I might have tried that, but I was there to celebrate my birthday rather than fine wines. The place is known for its extensive wine list, and the wait staff is well-trained to pair food with the extensive cellar. Our waiter suggested a wine to one of my guests. She didnt like it, so he offered her another. There was no problem opening a bottle just to have one glass. If any of my guests had wanted a wine not on the list, our waiter could have offered us something, which is something Ive rarely encountered. As a birthday celebrant, my dessert was on the house. Others in my party certainly enjoyed theirs, even though they had those tasty things with coffee instead of wine!
Really enjoyed our dinner here. Lucked out with very comfortable cushioned seats inside and my two pre-teens rolled to their sides and fell asleep. (Long Disney day.) Wed heard the paella was delicious (and it was!) and the drinks and dessert were great as well. Service was perfect.
Food was good. Sat outdoors weather was beautiful. My husband had the “Everything But The Turkey” burger which is November’s special burger. It’s a burger with cornbread dressing, onion straws, cranberry sauce and comes with gravy dipping sauce. He approved. I had the standard UVA burger and it was good as well. The sweet potato fries were good but the garlic potato fries were extremely garlicky so be advised.
I had a group of out of guest visiting so I suggested the Catal Restaurant since I had been once before and had a great experience. None of us mind paying for great food and good service but we received neither on our visit. Let me first say, it was not at peak time so it was not too busy. Five of the six of us went most of our meal with empty glasses. We were not asked how we were doing during our meal. We were not asked how we would like our burgers cooked. The tops of our buns and our flatbread pizza had places on them that were burnt black and crispy. We were not asked if we would like dessert - which we had planned to get since it was a birthday dinner. We ended up at the ice cream shop across the walkway. For the price, the food was lacking and the service was horrible.
Very expensive, but for special occasions, it is worth it. Their hangar steak was made perfect; crispy outside and medium inside. The prime rib was also good, but not great. It could have been tastier. The stuffed peppers appetiser was overpriced but the fries were good. The St. Archer beer was one of the best Ive ever had. Went great with our dinner.Paella is good but massively overpriced for what it is.I would go back, but for the price I could get better food, but probably not better Spanish food.
I have dined at Catal many times. It is one of the original restaurants in downtown Disney. When first open and for some years. The restaurant was very good. I believe its part of the Patina Group. If it is still part of the Patina ... It should be and use to be much better. The service is very good but the food. Come on. A few months ago we were at Kendall. And it was awesome. Catal should have the same awesome food.
We made a reservation ahead. Food was not that great. $30 hamburger and not really kid friendly. Save your $$$ and go to the taco place across the way. Service was ok. Hostess ignored our questions about sitting outside versus inside. Apparently the outdoor Catal seating is more casual and less formal dining. Wish we knew before we forced our kids to eat here.
We had a great dinner at Catal Restaurant on Saturday night. We caught happy hour, and had great cocktails and wine from the happy hour menu to start the meal. Calamari was an excellent appetizer. For entree, we had traditional paella and crispy suckling pig. The paella was delicious. Lots of fresh seafood and very generous portion. The suckling pic was OMG good. The crispy skin with the super tender moist and flavorful meat in the middle. It was truly an amazing dish. Our waiter was Tyler C. He was friendly, helpful, and funny. He made our dinner even more enjoyable. :-)
Great experience with good drinks and decent prices. We visited during happy hour and were seated promptly. The server took our orders quickly and was attentive during our meal. We ordered four dishes and all were well-prepared and presented in a pleasing manner. The Vojito was excellent and an interesting twist in the traditional mojito. I would definitely visit again.
Paella is their specialty dish. Two of us ate the chicken paella, very good. One of us had the salmon. It was good (but the paella was better. For dessert we all shared the chocolate chip bread pudding with vanilla ice cream which was delicious.. Service was excellent. Only problem was we sat near the door to the patio on a very cool night. Every time they opened the door we froze. Eventually they tied the doors together with a towel so that it couldnt be opened,
“Great food & service”Had dinner here on a late Thursday night. Sat at the bar and ordered off the happy hour menu. They had three different oysters available. Ordered 3-4 of each which were very good for the happy hour price. Ray who was in charge of preparing seafood was very friendly and helpful. Also ordered a couple lobster claws which were very...
This restaurant is nestled on the upper level of a building in Downtown Disney. After walking up a long stairway, a tall and well decorated space is revealed. The design in in the vein of a Spanish Villa. We ate outside on the balcony in the early evening, the weather was perfect for it. I really enjoyed the people watching part of the meal as the balcony overlooks one of the main promenades in Downtown Disney. The menu is short and concise, everything that my party ordered was fantastic. I tried the Lobster Paella which was fantastic, the lobster was perfectly cooked as well, buttery soft =). Staff was prompt, friendly and accommodating for the duration of the meal.
*Chorizo in my vegan paella* and the whole situation was a mess. Im not high maintenance and life goes on, but... these folks were having a bad night it seems. Over an hour to get our food. Room so cold other guests were asking to be reseated. I called ahead to ask about vegan food and was told they had an off-menu vegan paella. The waitress then let me know about it when I said I was vegan. Out it comes, Im mindlessly chomping - boom, thats not a veggie. Waitress is confused. Takes it away - then manager comes over to apologize, tells me they are re-making, I say Im not hungry any more and she rushes away to stop the kitchen then and never comes back. They did very little to make amends. With dozens of restaurants within walking distance, I see no reason to ever come back to Catal.Food:Brussels sprouts (no bacon) and new Mediterranean salad are both quite tasty. Paella wasnt worth remaking - it didnt taste good.
Great restaurant for a downtown Disney place. It usually has a lower wait time than all the others. I think because its upstairs kind of out of the way. The best experience was the night I proposed to my wife. We ordered so many things off the menu and it was all delicious!
This past weekend my family and I went to Breakfast with Santa. It was fantastic! The kids loved the activities and meeting Santa. My husband and I loved the food. The Vanilla Bean French Toast was delicious! We also liked the hot cocoa cart, such a fun idea. The staff was very kind and helpful. The location was nice, we walked around Downtown Disney afterwards. A great day out for the family. We will be going back!
This place has a great atmosphere right in the middle of Downtown Disney. Our party of 6 was able to sit outside on the balcony which I highly recommend! The food is good and service is great! Be sure to make reservations well in advance due to the popularity of the place.
Overall we had a good experience. Our group wanted to come here because we were craving some delicious paella! Good paella is hard to comeby I feel like. DM me some paella places in SoCal! Anyways, let me just say that the paella is not that great. We devoured it dont get me wrong, but just not what we expected. Portions for all the dishes were very small. Server took on too many tables at once. There are more employees that fill your water than there are actual waiters/waitresses. The ahi tuna bruschetta was better than I thought. Calamari was eh. Scallops were good. The salmon was amazing. I dont think this place is really a place to come all the way to downtown disney for. If you happen to be in downtown disney already or coming out of the park for dinner, overall this place is solid.
Their presentation of the food was exceptional; however, I expected more quality for the food. The food overall tasted fine, but I wish it was hotter or at least a bit more warm. Calamari has a nice flavor to it, then again the temperature should have been more warm. Overall an average, hefty priced restaurant with decent food.
I went for dinner with my 2 daughters a dinner here a few weeks ago during our visit to Anaheim. If it had not been for this one major issue our experience here would have been rated as very good to excellent. Our server was very welcoming and polite and knew the menu and wine list well. One daughter ordered the Traditional Paella dish and double checked to ensure it did not contain beef or pork with the server. However, after a few fork-fulls, she was shocked to see and taste bacon in the dish. I double checked the menu and no bacon was listed as ingredient ((the menu listed these ingredients: mussels, shrimp, clams, roasted chicken, chorizo de bilbao, saffron bomba rice, peas). I am bacon lover, so I tried the pieces that my daughter had put aside and indeed it was bacon! My daughter was completely put off. We spoke with our server and he checked with the kitchen chefs and they insisted no bacon was used even after I told them I actually tried it and YES it was bacon. I know what bacon tastes like!! A manager tried to convince us the same, but at this point, I did not want to create a scene and just paid our bill and left. We wont return.
We were visiting Disneyland during Thanksgiving week and it was so hard to get any reservations at any nice place in the park. On Thanksgiving day we just happen to take the monorail to the downtown Disney district and ended up at Catal for dinner. Lucky that upstairs was available for dinner. We had a wonderful time at the restaurant. Food was excellent. We started off with ahi bruschetta which was good. Even the kids liked it. We tried roasted chicken, steelhead salmon and heirloom salad with prawns. For desserts we had tres leches and cheesecake. Somehow totally forgot to order the paella. Everything was prepared very well and tasted good. Service was also good. You get a nice view from the upstairs dining room. Worth the visit.
Coming here was a great idea. i ordered their all-american burger and it came out being soo good. the love the brioche buns, thick juicy beef patty, the melted cheddar, the thick bacon, the bbq sauce, the garlic fries. everything was great that i would love to come back actually. i also ordered their fried chicken sandwich and although it lacked the eye candy thats is improved to me and because it had brioche buns it tasted quite well. however the high price for this chicken sandwich is too high and is why i cut off 3 stars because if anybody will charge me soooo much money it sure as heck be worth every dollar. the chicken patty was very skinny and it looked cheap.👍🏼🤨👎🏼
The service was delightful, and I wish my food had been. The chef has got to be the laziest chef I have ever encountered.Ordered crispy bacon at 10am in a restaurant where my mother and I were the only people eating and I was served microwaved bacon. The server even admitted that they pre cook the bacon, even though she didn’t know they had microwaved it. I work in food service, and I know what pre cooked and then recrisped bacon tastes like. It tastes like nothing, and it’s certainly not worth the price tag.So disappointed that Catal can’t even cook their bacon to order with an empty restaurant. I’d hate to see the food quality when (and if it ever) gets busy.Don’t come here for breakfast, unless you wanna waste your time and money.Edited to add: the food is still bad, but the GM came out, talked to us, and apologized for the experience and then comped our meal. He was extremely open to my comments and criticisms (I’m a chef, so I am fairly critical) and although I do not believe what he said in regards to microwaved food, I appreciate his time. The service here is exceptional, and maybe lunch is better food wise, but I still wouldn’t come here for breakfast. The best front of house in the world can’t make up for bad food.
Interior looks nice. Food is costly. Beer on tap not impressive. Fogcutter ipa was good. Salad didnt look fresh or appetizing. Burgers look good. Salmon portion 3 times too small. Bartender was friendly. Food cost twice as high as it should be. I could see myself returning, but no rush.
This restaurant serves such delicious food! And the view is worth sitting outside if possible, especially during the firework show. The wine list is fairly wide and compliments the food well. Reservations arent required but I would strongly recommend making one. Also, its connected to The Uva Bar, but they are not the same (two different menus it looks like). Oh, and the portions are of a good size; youre getting what you pay for, very fair.
Just got back from having the Thanksgiving buffet, and it wasnt anything to shout about. For $45 per person, I was expecting someone slicing the turkey and ham meat. I got there at 3:00p and a number of the dishes had been sitting for a while and looked it too. Everything was tasty, but it wasnt anything other than okay. The turkey seemed quite salty, the bread pudding was cold, which is normally served warm, and our server brought my friend the wrong tea, which could have caused a problem for him. He asked for plain black tea, and was given Earl Grey tea, which has an oil that causes his heart rate to increase to an abnormal rate. Luckily, my friend was able to detect the distinctive aroma of Earl Grey and told the server. Either our server wasnt paying attention to what my friend asked for, didnt think there was much difference between teas, or he didnt care. Either way could have caused a real problem for my friend. Dont think we will be back.
When looking for a nice place to entertain clients and talk business in Anaheim- this is the spot. Service is great - super friendly staff. Wine list is great and the steaks are sensational. Reservations are recommended and an area for private events and dining is available. Too busy enjoying meal - missed taking a photo!
We were tired, hot and hungry from our Disney adventure. We decided to leave the park and work our way into downtown Disney to find a place for a late lunch. We happened upon Catal Mediterranean Grill and the happy hour menu looked good so we decided to give it a try (Note: inside happy hour is a partial menu but outside in the courtyard is the full menu always.)We sat down to relax at a table and we were quickly greeted by Tyler C as our server. Tyler brought water immediately and took our drink order quickly. I am like a fish with Tea and Tyler C was right there everytime I ran out with a fresh cup. That is always big in my book with servers keeping up with my drinks.
Friendly. Catal burger is very good. The Cuban is not a Cuban but it is a very good sandwich! Price for lunch was reasonable. Indoor and outdoor seating on the second floor. They have an elevator. Bathrooms are upstairs. Wait staff was very attentive. Outside is a fun looking court for outdoor drinks and eats.
Wife and I stopped by tonight. Other restaurants nearby were packed with waiting. We walked right in and the food was phenomenal!! I had the country fried turkey sandwich. Wow is all I can say! Only reason I didnt give 5⭐ is because service was a bit slow once we got our food.
Good food, and a bit pricy but view and atmosphere is worth it. I do wish they have a larger menu selection, but the salad that comes with each adult entree is very good and I could of made a meal out of it. Bread you get both sour dough rolls and another unique bread.
We were in Anaheim for a few days and wanted to invite friends out to lunch. The Baci Restaurant was recommended to us. We were definitely not disappointed. The interior is tastefully designed with decor that makes you know you are in an Italian restaurant without raffia wrapped wine bottles hanging from the ceiling. It is lovely.
This is the best restaurant for dinner in Downtown Disney! People here are very nice and really hospitable. The Chef’s Steakhouse burger was the best. It’s worth the penny I pay. The staffs were amazing and always make me feel comfortable. Would def recommend this place.
Experience Date: December 9, 2017, Santa BreakfastI was underwhelmed by this event for the price charged. The visit with Santa was nice, BUT the AS ADVERTISED digital image was never delivered. I was given the excuse that the original photographer they booked cancelled last minute and they didnt have a way to deliver the digital images, I asked about dropbox or other digital delivery systems and never heard back. Very disappointed.Food was very good, hot cocoa cart was cute and yummy. The advertised Carolers came through only once in the hour we were there and they sang a whole ONE song and were gone. When Santa came through the room he barely stopped at our table, I didnt even have time to pick up a phone or my camera to get a quick picture.Overall the food was delicious, but the experience was severely lacking given the high price of the breakfast and the lack of delivering everything that was advertised in the PRE-PAID event.
Restaurant has been our go to place for birthday celebrations. We love the food and ambience. They are accommodating to families. We had dinner up on the terrace and stayed for fireworks. The food choices were ribeye, salmon and scallops. I had the scallops. They were delicious. For starters we had beet salad and caesar salad. The dessert choices were apricot sorbet and creme brulee.
No wait was nice , however for a 44 dollar filet kind of place .... Steak was half as good as it should have been and came with no sides...wilted spinach maybe but nothing else. Again not a 44 dollar meal. Childs steaks were ordered at medium. Came out blu rare and cold. Sent back and came out well done, naturally. Over all food was ok, nice atmosphere and nice staff. Over priced for the amount and quality of food.
They have a decent happy hour from 3-5pm even on weekends with decent drinks and some good snacks (we like the sliders, ahi bruschetta and garlic fries). Its especially relaxing to sit outside upstairs to get away from the hustle & bustle and grab a quick bite while visiting Disneyland. Service can sometimes be a little hit or miss though otherwise wouldve given 5 stars.
Having visited Catal Restaurant, located at Downtown Disney a number of times over the years, I had nothing but high expectations for their brand new Breakfast With Santa Experience, perfectly timed for the holiday season. The entire experience, including the holiday decor, the personalized attention given to each family, and the incredible menu, exceeded our expectations. There are 2 seatings each weekend for Breakfast With Santa at 9 am and 11 am. Located on the second floor of the restaurant, the views of Downtown Disney add to the overall ambiance. Arrive a few minutes early for coffee before being seated. One of the distinguishing features of Breakfast With Santa is the personal attention to detail. One of Santas elves will give each child a personalized stocking with holiday activities (perfect for keeping children entertained while they wait for breakfast). Each family will have their own table designated by a table card, which adds to the personal nature of this experience.Brunch begins with a selection of muffins and croissants accompanied by maple butter. The meal is served family style with generous portions of Buttermilk Pancakes and Vanilla Bean French Toast accompanied by Vermont Maple Syrup, Organic Scrambled Eggs, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Smoked Sausage, Roasted Baby Yukon Gold Potatoes, and a Holiday Parfait. Kids will absolutely love the hot chocolate bar on wheels, served by Santas elves. All non-alcoholic drinks are included in the set price ($60 for adults, $27 for children ages 3-10).The highlight of Breakfast With Santa includes an extensive visit with photos. Each table is slotted a time to meet with Santa so families dont have to wait in line. The price includes 2 photos and online access to the photos taken during this experience.Additionally, families can spend the day at Downtown Disney and ice skate at Olafs Frozen Ice Rink with the vouchers that are included with the price of Breakfast With Santa. With a festive, holiday atmosphere, a gourmet family-style brunch served by Santas Elves, a hot chocolate bar, meet and greet/photos with Santa, holiday carolers, and ice skating, Breakfast With Santa is a memorable experience your family will want to make an annual tradition.
Would not recommend to anyone. I got a piece of raw what looked like chicken in my salad I was told it was raw tuna but still just as disgusting to me. They said it was just because of where the prep line is set up. They reimbursed me for our whole meal which wasn’t asked or anything. But still really disgusting and for a such expensive meal I would have expected that to not happen.
I had made dinner reservations for January 30 through the Disneyland app 60 days prior. Had been looking forward to having dinner there. The morning of the 30th I got a phone call from the restaurant telling me that the upstairs restaurant was totally booked and my reservations had been canceled telling me that maybe they could accommodate me and my party another night or maybe downstairs. I was then told that Disney does not give the reservation to their restaurant until the morning of. I then told them that I would verify this directly with Disney. My party of ten all canceled. That night we were all accommodated at Splitsville restaurant and had a great meal. I can’t review the food at Catal.
Not that great and expensive for the food quantity. Service was alright, though my iced tea sat unfilled all dinner. Staff was very polite. Food was underwhelming. Ordered the ahi bruschetta and while the flavor was great, the spices and guac overwhelmed the ahi, which made it feel like the ahi was just a bait. Entrees were scallops and classic paella. Scallops were tasty, but there were only three, which meant each scallop cost $11 considering the dish had no sides. Paella was average for a paella, but again,a very small portion for the price.Overall, the food is just okay and youll find much better options elsewhere in Downtown Disney.
Really nice place. Great ambience, get an outside table if you can so you can see the Disney downtown fun while eating. Not too many veggie options but enough. Good pallella. Good drinks options. Great service. Good place to spend time with friends and family especially if visiting Disney Land
Service was poor because all waiters and waitresses were to busy gossiping about a drunk customer (cant believe it was their first time). Was told they didnt have alcohol for my drink, when I walked up to the bar...there it was...food was bland, i dont mind paying high end for good food but felt bad paying high end for mediocre food (old fish...not fresh as I was told and no flavor). Wife and I left and are going to the cheesecake factory...
S-L-O-W. Our family ate there on a not particularly busy Sunday morning. Less than half the tables were occupied. We seated ourselves since there was no greeter. 15 minutes for the waiter to approach us. 30 minutes from time of order until food arrived (simple breakfast items). Disappointing
The Pizza Press was not far from my hotel. Its not NY style pizza but it was yummy. The pizza is actually pressed to size. The sauce and toppings are based on the pizza that is ordered. They also have a build your own if you dont want one of their pre-set pizzas. They have Red, White and Extra Virgin...
Took my mom here for mothers day dinner . I have been sick sense then . Horrible stomach pains. The service was great I am just upset that I spent a good amount of money there and ended up with what I can only guess to be food poisoning. I am just starting to feel better maybe I can actually eat something now . Just be careful of what you order .
Everytime I come to Disneyland, I only eat dinner or lunch here. They have two options.. an outside eating area with a bar or inside with balcony tables. The service is always outstanding and food absolutely delicious. When Im dining inside, I frequently have the paella and outside the ahi tostadas. If you stay at one of the Disneyland on-property hotels, you can get a discount! The staff is always a delight!
The gyro’s “cucumber” sauce didn’t have any flavor on it nor did the chicken wings’ hot sauce didn’t have any flavor either. The ranch and ketchup had more flavor then the two sauces. For a Mediterranean restaurant, the servers don’t know how to pronounce the word “gyro” too.
First-Rate Spanish (not Mexican) restaurant featuring a wonderful, romantic ambiance and a terrific Seafood Paella. Service is first rate, and the view from the terrace is breathtaking. The perfect spot for a romantic date or a festive evening with friends. And, bring your favorite Cava or Rioja Gran Reserva, because there is NO CORKAGE FEE! Highly recommended.
It has a nice atmosphere but the service was lacking. When you first walk in, we had to go interrupt a group employee chat to find out if we went up or downstairs. Our server was having a bad day so the rest of the staff was attempting to compensate. For a tiny bit more go to Carthays in California Adventure instead, it will blow you away.
We had reservations and it took them over 15 minutes to sit us. When we were finally sat, our party of 5 was sat on a table for 4. Service took over one hour during which their Signature Paella overcooked reducing its flavor and consistency to salty tomato paste and rice. I had higher expectations for this place, but not even reasonable ones were met.
Very disappointed. Was not able to try the food, as the hostess was unable to get our ONE request correct. After spending a day enjoying the DLR area, except for parents unable to or refusing to control screaming out of control kids. We asked for a table NOT near children. When Im paying close to or more than $100 per person to eat. I dont think thats an odd request. As our drinks arrived, so did a family with 3 children. Right beside our table. I know Im at DLR, but at the high priced restaurants could we not have an area with an adults only section? Our waitress was very understanding. But the hostess could care less about any requests you make. Extremely poor planing caused us to leave hungry.
Worst restaurant Ive ever been to!! Minuscule portions. We got the Ahi Bruschetta for $16, it was literally four stale quarter sized pieces of bread with a tiny bit of tomato and a thin slice of Ahi, worth about $5 max!! To top that they when we check our bank account they charged us double! WORST PLACE EVER!
I came to this establishment last year in June and will be returning again in June of this year I am so excited its one of my favorite places to eat. The Ambiance is fun and exciting the food is wonderful, and it will be my friends first time to downtown Disney and Disneyland so were both very excited
We had an AMAZING breakfast with Santa today. The entire restaurant feels very festive. The staff is wonderful. They take really good care of you. Breakfast with Santa is held on the second floor of the restaurant, overlooking Downtown Disney. Get there early and have some coffee and water as you wait for your table. As you enter the dining area, an elf will give you a stocking with the childs name, filled with activities that they can do while they wait for food. Gifts inside the stocking include a coloring book, a fill-in-the-blank Santa letter and colors. Once you have your stocking, theyll walk your party to your reserved table noted by a table tent. Each party has its own table. There is a 9 a.m. and a 11 a.m. seating. Reservations are required.Food: The kitchen sends out a ridiculous amount of delicious food from the set menu If you want seconds (or thirds) - they bring you more! Everything is served family-style, so you can serve each person as little, or as much as they want.Drink: Elves bring around a hot chocolate bar cart and a little elf serves you a cup of hot cocoa with your favorite toppings. The staff is on it and our coffee didnt get a chance to get cold before it was refilled. Other beverages includes assorted juices and hot tea. A cocktail menu is available and features $10 cocktails (not included in the Breakfast with Santa cost).Santa Claus: Pictures with Santa are done in a very organized manner. They bring up a family one-by-one so there is no need to wait in line. You get two picture printouts, and guests are given online access to their Santa pictures so you can print out more at home.Cost: Catal Restaurant offers a family-style meal + drinks for only $60 for adults, $27 for children ages 3-10, and children two years and younger are free. Prices include Santa picture, tax, and gratuity.Price includes: Family-style breakfast, hot cocoa station, activities for the kids, stocking, ice skating vouchers for Olafs Ice Skating rink in Downtown Disney and pictures with Santa. We cant wait to do it all over again next year!!!
Spent $80 & Rene told us to show our receipt at the parking booth for validation. After 10 minutes of walking to the car, 5 minutes if waiting in line (where we were told we had to go back for validation, and another 10 minute walk back to the restaurant) Thanks Rene for overcharging and wasting 30 minutes of my life!

2022-05-03Like many of the Downtown Disney restaurants, expect great service and delicious food. This seemed to be the most quietest out of the downtown restaurants so a very nice spot if you want to get away from the crowds and have a nice conversation. The crispy calamari was perfectly battered and seasoned. The filet mignon was so tender, just would love some more of that butter because it enhanced the steak even more. The salmon was perfectly cooked, flaked right off and was not dry at all.Would definitely come again.

2022-01-23Date night at Catal Restaurant! If you are in the area and was a yummy dinner … I say go for it! But after paying for parking and the hectic atmosphere of getting to the restaurant, I would pass. We had the spicy cucumber and the citrus margaritas… very tasty! The appetizer was the calamari, it was good, the ones on top were a bit over salted, but all in all, it was good. For the main course, we both got the medium rare filet mignon, gnocchi and mini mushrooms. They showed up rare, but works out best for us since I use left overs for breakfast the next morning. We ended with the creme brûlée.. a classic for us! It was delicious! We were at a small table with a lot of traffic, like an airplane… but there were plenty of bigger tables. I suggest asking for a bigger table if possible. The servers were attentive and helpful.

2022-06-06The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had Pan Con Tomate for our appetizer. We both had ice water as well as a glass of red wine. My wife had the skirt steak and I had the chicken dinner. We tried each other’s plate and we liked it. For dessert we had the Tahini Blondie which was out of this world delicious!

2022-01-09Went midweek right before a major holiday, it was one of the easier places to get seating. We were seated overlooking downtown Disney. They have a decent menu everything from burgers to paella which I tried. Their vegetable paella was interesting—never had fideo seco. Overall it wasn’t bad. The other dishes looked decent, my group was satisfied with what they ordered. Staff came to check on us a few times. They were also helpful and friendly. They even let us watch the fireworks on the patio after we dined. They have both outdoor patio dining and indoor dining. They also have a decent bar.

2022-03-19This place hands down was the best restaurant in downtown Disney. I went for my birthday and it was perfect. We sat on the balcony that had a beautiful view. The service was awesome and friendly. Dont let me forget about the food. Elegant delicious and filling. We will definitely be back!

2021-12-14Very nice restaurant on the inside. Service was prompt but upon sitting down the server rattled off a long list of things they were out of for the night. My husband and I ordered two different beers that were on tap that both tasted watered down and flat. Food was good, but nothing special. Probably wouldn’t recommend.

2021-11-26We had a reservation and sat upstairs on the balcony. Our waiter was very nice and gave us recommendations for bars afterwards. Food took a little bit to come. We ordered an entree each and one side dish which all came out at once. My partner mentioned his was slightly cold on arrival so they probably waited on one of the dishes. Other than that, we thought everything was delishh. Salmon has a sweet tomatoey sauce which was different but I enjoyed!

2022-06-20Went to Catal for a Fathers Day dinner. We ordered basic drinks, a table appetizer, and 4 meals. Drinks came out quickly and so did the appetizer. Unfortunately our waitress disappeared and we didnt have plates. She came by and acknowledged this and disappeared for another 10 minutes. By the time she brought the plates, the kids had finished.Meal came and the food was good and well prepared. Had a hair in the side dish that the waitress watched me remove without comment.Waitress came and asked if we needed drink refills. She asked me if I wanted another beer. I answered no and she took the beer that I was still finishing. I may he over reacting but when you pay over $10 for a drink, you should be able to finish it.For a $300 meal i expected better.Food I would rate 4.5/5. Service 3/5.
