Took the family last minute. Was a couple lanes open. Took about 10 minutes to get our lane and shoes for 8 people. Masks are enforced and balls are wiped down after we were done. Very fum and reasonable price. Will definitely be back when in the area. We are from the central Valley.
A friend of mine had their kids party here. We had fun. The only complaint was that on the phone they had told her that the party package included 2 hours of bowling but once we were there they said that the party package on Sunday only includes 1 hour of bowling.... Lame
Got in almost right when they opened for the day. The staff was friendly (+) even though they made me ware a mask the whole time while bowling (-) and they wouldnt give me no practice time that I asked for. (-) ( I live out of area and wanted to get a feel for the lanes before I started) I think Im a pro. Lol other than that the lanes were oiled (+) and well kept (+) the price is avarge at $5/game (•). If it wasnt for the mask and not giving me what I wanted I would have gave it 4 or 5 🌟
Moved here recently, during COVID, and now looking for a bowling alley to enjoy. The staff here great - very helpful and friendly. They were respectful of COVID safety precautions and the place was clean and inviting. I am happy to have found such a great bowling alley.
We had a party there for my sons birthday. The party coordinator Cris is very attentive. Its a good place for party for a bunch of boys. But make sure you look at your bill. They did not credit my deposit that I gave them a week before the event. I had to call and wait the next day to get an answer. When I called the manager and asked her shes not apologetic at all.
Great place to hangout. One of the finest bowling alleys which is really cost effective. It got 32 lanes. Best thing I liked was, it has so many display themes that you can choose for your game. Ample parking spaces. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and wonderful place to enjoy with family and friends. They accept Groupon deals too🤙✌️👌
Not a friendly staff at all. If youre working at an establishment that is supposed to be for fun, or entertainment, please SMILE. Maybe a slight grin? When greeting your customers, or when theyre happily spilling a few hundred into your business could you at least be polite?? Eek!! I will not bring my family here again. Id rather drive miles past it in hopes for a better feeling environment. From the security, to the check in, to the snack bar, and bar... not one person here was happy, pleasant, polite, or approachable at all. I just moved to the neighborhood and would have enjoyed frequenting this place due to the location, however, I never will again. Lighten up peeps!! This should be a fun place!!
Brings back so many memories here, been bowling at this place since high school. Its not really fancy or high tech but its a bowling alley. You come here for memories and good times with friends. They have foods and drinks all at a reasonable price. Each game is relatively cheap too and look out on groupon for extra great deals.
Went there with family on Saturday evening . Place is little difficult to find for 1st timers . Staff at counter is very helpful and quick but the person or the helper guy , not sure he is always like this or just had a bad day that time . Some just out the glass next to out lane and some random kid ran over and break it . We asked to clean and he was so angry to do so and when he came he just clean the water and pick up few pieces and let a lot which is too risky for anyone to step on and get hurt.. I asked him again to clean and he did not show up until we left for almost 2 hrs. Food is also ok. They have plenty of parking space.
Excellent snack bar... actually one of the best snack bars I have ever seen with a great variety on the menu. From mexican food to thai food to traditional snack bar food items. Unfortunately their thai food was unavailable for the day I went there as the next 3 days afterwards. I was so excited to see that on a menu in a bowling alley! That alone will get me to come back. I ordered the hamburger and it was actually really good. Also ordered the super burrito which was ok nothing to call home abou tho as it was pretty plain. I didnt care for the salsa. It would have been better with more seasoning in the burrito when they cooked the meat, like a traditional carne asada burrito from taco stand or mexican restaurant. It would have Been nice to have a possibility of pico de gallo as a side add on as well as guacamole or sour cream or cheese or avocado.
Great alley with great pricing for the casual bowler. As of this post $1.50 games are available on multiple days. Great fun for family and casual bowlers. Not sure what problem that others have had with the staff, theyve always been good to me and Ive been coming here for over a 10 years.
CV Bowl is not a kid friendly bowling alley. They do not have any bowling ramps for little bowlers so my two-year-old was not able to bowl successfully. I did not learn this until I had paid and was waiting in the bowling lane. Their idea of kid friendly is putting up a bumper and giving you 6 lbs. balls. When I told them I was disappointed to find out their was no kid ramp after I already paid (when clearly I had a small child with me and I ASKED them if they could set up the lane to be kid friendly), the staff member responded with a pathetic Yeah, sorry.
Came today during New Years Eve and had a horrible experience. I interacted with three staff members and they were all rude and disrespectful. They took long to help my party when we asked for assistance and just gave an attitude. I’ll definitely think twice before I decide to come back here. I understand maybe they were tired from being busy but it the end this type of job is all about customer service and I know I wasn’t being mean, they just had an attitude. After reading other reviews here, it seems like I’m not the only one who has experienced rude staff and the fact that it was New Year’s Eve had nothing to do with it. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt but it seems that’s just the way they are.
Came here at 9:28pm by the time the guy came to the window and to take my order I wanted to order papaya salad and chcicken wings. Guy said it was too late they stop selling the food at 9:30. So I’m here before that time and they still won’t take my order then wants to be upset as if I’m the one coming there after that time frame.
Nick came to our lines to asks us to lower our voices because someone complained we were being too loud. I was surprised because we just got there and I havent even have a chance to throw yet. I asked us? He then called a lady with green hair that didnt get her name (that works there) and told us to follow bowling rules. And when our neighbors started to dropped balls and throw them in our lanes out of nowhere they moved US because THEY were bothered. I was very disappointed how the situation was handled. I have been in Castro Village Bowl many times and had fun. I am very disappointed and I think personnel including management needs more training to be neutral when things get out of hand.
Terrible customer service. Whole issue started when we requested gutter guards on our lane, in which they replied us being too old. We had younger children in our group, on which they still replied with them too old. Fun place to go to bowl, but the employees are absolutely terrible.
The service and experience was horrible. The lane they gave us kept breaking down and not giving us pins, so we were told to just throw a ball in anyway. Then we got an automatic strike. After the second time it broke we decided to tell them. Those people kept trying to trick us telling us a bunch of gibberish. Our whole party had to explain what happened to them and they showed us some attitude. Just because Im a kid they tried telling me some dumb stuff to trick me.👎👎👎 Horrible Experience.
We have bowled here for years. I have 2-9 year olds and an 11 year old. When we were in to our 3rd game they came and removed the rails and took our 6 pound balls. Was told there was a 7 year old limit. As I said we have been going there for years, including this year and NEVER told that. What makes the differance? They are kids. Who cares? Never coming back here again.
One of the best deals Ive ever seen for night bowling. $10 for 3 hours (9pm to Midnight, Tuesdays and Wednesdays) of UNLIMITED bowling, shoes included too. Theres really no other place that can beat that.If youre going to actually bowl, I recommend going on Tuesdays. However, if bowling is more of a social activity for you, then Wednesdays are your thing. All the lights turn off and it becomes a rave.P.S. also their scoreboards are pretty fancy, but sometimes gets a bit annoying with all the random facts
Dont leave your lane for a smoke break theyll close your game and sell ya lane to whos next in line give you a yellow ticket because they dont do cash refunds and if you did want to stay and bowl you have to put your name back on a waiting list. Ill never be back here again thanks to that light skin chick with the underbite and bad perm her customer service sucks. The girl that looked like Keke Palmer and the girl with the short blonde cut took good care of us when we first got there. Thats what the 2stars are for 😉
Went here on a Tuesday night and the bartender was extremely rude the older white guy bartender ... Had the worst attitude was I asked him to elite make my Long Island because it had sat at the bar before I paid for a long time because the arm was out of service ! He then rudely explained that no he wasnt and if I had any intentions on getting a drink I would have to spend 13$ on the watered down drink ! I then asked him again and explained the situation and he said no !! And I wouldnt be able to drink from his bar again ! I then left ! I would never support this non customer friendly bowling alley again !!!

2022-07-02Staff are well trained and their self awareness of the environment are well noted. Assisting on equipment are punctual and resolves issues quickly; even when lots of customers are using the facility. Bathrooms will need a bit of more check up than usual but everything else does meet satisfactory level.

2022-04-03This is more in the people running the business and not the staff. The staff just has to enforce stupid rules. We are new parents and wanted to bowl with our friends who are also new parents. They said that we have to pay 20 dollars for both infants (8 month old and 11 month old) to come into the building to bowl. 0-100 years old must pay to go in was the sign. Not family friendly place.

2018-12-27One of the finest bowling alley in this area. It got 32 lanes. Bumpers are for children under 7 yrs of age. My experience was great. Cafe was closed when I visited.Best thing I liked was so many display themes you can choose for your game. My fav was cartoon theme. It was super fun family time.

2022-02-05If I could give this place zero Stars I would. I went there last night which was a Friday night just to go bowling with three other girlfriends for my 40th birthday. First we were allowed to walk in the front door which is fine then we had to walk we thought through the bar so we did that we went up to the front desk they were going to give us our shoes but then realize we had not been searched by the security guards. So we headed towards the security guards which I might add were fully protected huge men that had metal detectors and the way they spoke to me was absolutely disturbing. All I had to ask was is this where we wait or do we go up to you guys and I got yelled at by a scary big man who was probably packing. The fact that I have to get searched and Pat it down by men that were armed and rude was very disturbing to me and I dont think Ill ever go there again. Im so saddened by this event that this is what my kids are going to see Castro valley like armed and dangerous. It was absolutely absurd.

2022-01-15I go here because they dont have a big arcade to distract the kids. They get enough screen time at home. Prices are reasonable for the bay area. They dont have any ramps for the little ones but we managed without.

2021-12-11I’ll start by saying that I’ve never actually bowled here, but I had a blast at the bar 🤣The night I went was a league night so all the lanes were full. But regardless, it was fun to sit and drink some cheap beer and chat with the bartender and some of the regulars at the bar. I will say that it sounded like the bowlers were having a lot of fun out on the lanes.

2021-11-10Bowling is good here. Prices have gone up since Covid 19 shutdown for the last year. Their website is not true to what it advertises. Discounts for seniors, and prices at certain times arent applied. All adults are charged $5.00. When asked about this, staff says we dont control the content on the website. The hours of operation are posted incorrectly as well. They open at 11:00, not 2:00pm. Problem with this is if you drive there to bowl, thinking youre going to pay $3.50 for seniors, forget that. Other than that, bowl away.
