Overall it was great! Breathtaking view! But....Due to no ac, all rooms get hot during day even with curtains closed, in evening theres no problem, ocean breeze gives you plenty of cool air. 5 star because of beautiful view, kitchen and all utensils provided, cleanliness in the rooms, 2 bathrooms with shower and bathtub available which is awesome, and also great customer service by the guy that checked us in, he was very courteous and polite.
Great views and easy access to the beach. Clean and comfortable condos. Lot of local places to eat with great food. However, with construction couldn’t make use of the balcony and the noise during the day could be very annoying, but the crew seemed to try to keep noise levels down as best as they could. WiFi was horrible.
Just got home from it. Overall, it is a good place to stay. But it was not clean when we arrived, we had to vacuum the rooms and then mop the floors because it was super dirty and with a lot of sand. When I asked the front desk to clean again, they agreed but nothing changed. We had a broken chair, somebodys underwear and swimming shorts, black hair everywhere (and mine are blond). Also, at first evening there fire occurred on 8th floor, so we were outside for couple of hours till midnight, and it was super cold 🥶. We liked that it had free parking, chairs and umbrella for the ⛱. Kitchen supplies were present and clean except for the oven.
A little bit of construction. It’s right on the beach though. The lobby is locked tight. Must have key faub to get in. Don’t go through lobby wet. There are cameras everywhere. Great location. Need to fix ramp going down to the beach. You can rent awesome scooters along the beach! Way fun!
I lived in The Capri by the Sea for a few years. Gorgeous and spacious apartment style rooms. Every room has a balcony overlooking the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Great location just blocks away from all the fun and action in Pacific Beach. Because this is a high rise bldg it is very unique on this coastline.Views are great. I recommend getting an end unit if they are available. The higher the better. I especially like the south end view (our unit was this on one of the upper floors) which looks out across Pacific Beach and Crystal Pier. Very nice perch also to experience the sunset, the boardwalk, the sand, the ocean, the coastline... Wow! Gorgeous.
Currently under construction to repair and replace all balconies. Noise isnt a problem at this visit but place is definitely in need of a facelift. Unit 710 no hot water in 2nd bathroom shower. Beds in 2nd bedroom is sway back and needs replacement asap! Linens smell like old bacon grease! Plus side views are incredibly beautiful!
The ocean views and access to the beach are phenomenal! There are so many great places to eat within a very short walking distance. The only drawback was the room itself. One of the double beds was more like a hammock; it was so swayed in the center and lumpy. Our feet were black after walking on the floor; we ended up keeping our flip flops on all the time to keep our feet clean. We will not be returning to Capri by the Sea again.
I have a timeshare here on the first floor for four weeks of the year. Im very lucky and blessed as this place is fantastic. Has parking a pool a jacuzzi both of which are nicely heated. There is always a security guard downstairs. And to get in and out of the Capri you have to have a fob. You have to fob yourself up and down the elevator which is fantastic because that means all of these crazy homeless people who are outside on the beach are not welcome in. The people who do live here are fantastic theyre always so courteous and kind and wanting to talk when were in the elevators. I suggest this place for anyone.
I could not be more frustrated with our stay, we stayed a year ago and had the best time, nice room good amenities, this time, the room was older, and not super clean, the toilet took FOREVER, to flush and the shower was really not even a splash of water. One of the blinds fell completely off the bar and fell to the floor. I talked to the manager who did move us to a new room and said he would refund us for a night. Refund has still never happened. One of the beds in the new room did not have a bottom sheet and again no cleaning supplies for us to clean up when we left. For the money we spent, I can tell you it was not worth it at all. Very sad as we really did enjoy this place our first time there.
Amazing views of the ocean. We always have a great time when we come here. The balconies are currently off limits though so that was a bummer... (apparently they were found to not be safe by this one organization so now they have to do some construction soon I’m guessing)
If I could give it a zero, I would. The door was cracked open when we got there, which made me a little nervous to go in. Upon entering there was dust flying around everywhere. There wasnt even a bedskirt on the bed in the main room which made no sense and there were broken things around the room. Everything looked SUPER old. This place looked nothing like the pictures and was a huge disappointment which threw a wrench in our family vacation. The scariest thing is the balcony. We have three young children and has warnings to basically not touch the balcony or risk falling. We ended up having to leave and find new accommodations since the hotel was booked out and could not switch us to a better room.
DO NOT STAY HERE! No Air Conditioning in this building! Very miserable stay and requested refund due to medical condition and was denied by the owners. The building is under construction from the plywood that covers the entrance to the hammering all night long to the railing that is dangerous. Don’t take kids here because one slight lean on the railing it will break off and you will fall to the ground. (The danger signs posted don’t help with little kids.)
The service we received was great, the staff communicated with us whenever anything needed to be done. It was a little weird having a key fob for the elevator. But my experience was truly great. The location was right next to the beach and having a large number of restaurants to suit any appetite.
Horrific. Horrific. Horrific. The WORST hotel experience I have EVER had. A security gaurd was put at the front desk to oversee it by himself and knew NOTHING of my reservation that I had paid $945.00 for that morning. I was there alone at 10 thirty pm with my 4 kids, and he just stood there saying there wasnt any paperwork left for me to check in. Um, pardon? I said he needed to call someone to check me in and said he was only allowed to text. He repeatedly told me to follow the instructions (none were emailed) and go get a key from a lock box. I had no clue what he was talking about. No instructions, remember? He went and got the key eventually and pointed to parking. I went in and couldnt find where he pointed to, so we went back to him and asked where. He walked up to gate and then let me into where he intended in the first place. He kept saying none of this was his job. I decided to back out of the gate and leave because as I was driving in, he said again how all of this wasnt his job... and the huge black gate hit my vehicle!!! $1,000.00 worth of damage!!! He then called someone on his phone (thought he was only allowed to text) and spoke of a mad lady. Me. The front desk employees the next day blamed everyone else and said it must have been hotel.coms fault. I was given money back the first night, but no other compensation and when I told them of my car damage? Nothing. Dont go. Its extremely poorly managed.
Both family and myself have now been visiting Capri for quite some time during summers. My last visit was spent in room #609 which was very modern with a black and gray color scheme overall. Room was tidy, everything worked, no real issues. Views are unbeatable for literally being as close to the beach as you could want. Fabi was also great to talk to and a great help with booking my first stay by myself and significant other. Only slight inconvenience was the hot tub was out of service for a day but was fixed the next. Will be returning.
I have stayed here for years but I stayed recently and was shocked at the horrible customer service and condition of the room we were given. The price was more than I have ever paid before. No available WIFI as promised. The beds should have been replaced at least a year prior and the bedroom window would not lock. I would not recommend staying here until they improve their units and get a better customer service policy in place.
If you want your trip very bad. You must come here to live.Showerhead only 5 foot high,if you are over 60 inches not gonna be useful. Bathroom very very mess. Bedroom carpet very dirty. Entrance door no lock,if somebody has the other keys they can coming anytime, its make people feel not as safe,I need to put something behind the door make feel safe. Everything is old and dirty.after 5PM no body takecare for you. The all building they only have one security at lobby. no other workers. If you have any questions or problems must waiting for tomorrow 9AM or maybe call 911 for the wake up service. Too many complain I can say. but its enough.
They turned the water off for two out of the 4 days we were there. So for a long time we did not have water, and then we had to take cold showers those nights because the water had not had time to warm up. They did not think we should be reimbursed even though it was for a really long time. One day we had not water from 9-5 pm!!! They were not helpful at all, and gave me the run around whenever I had a problem. They made me sign something saying I would not lean up on the balcony because there was an incident where the balcony came lose and someone was injured...
The best thing about this place is the view. The condo is nice, my only complaint is the dishes are still dirty after being put away. We just washed the ones we used. For the price we paid to rent this place, we shouldnt have to do that, but, not that big of a deal. The beds were very comfortable, the linens were clean and in good shape. Some of the furniture is worn out and I wouldnt even sit on some. Our condo could use an upgrade, but everything seems to work, the bathroom sink might need some draino. My biggest disappointment is the guy at the front desk. I called, twice about a problem next to the elevator, someone threw up, it was all over the rail and in the walkway. I was told .the first time , he would have housekeeping take care of it. That didnt happen. I stopped by the front desk later that evening and let him know it was still there. He said he would personally take care of it, that never happened either. Days later it is still there. Maybe I should call the health dept. Im sure they will get something done. Next time Im going to stay somewhere else, since there are lots of places along the coast. After staying there for a week, things got worse. Im not going to go go into detail, but I would not recommend this place. I was told 2 weeks before I arrived that the pool was closed For resurfacing so we didnt get the use of that but still had to pay full price.
Let me start by explaining what you are paying for. And this place is not cheap. We rented three rooms for a large family gathering, so this review is based on the experiences of 14 people in three rooms. You are paying entirely for the location. And its a great location. These apartments are right on the beach. Everyone has a great view of the ocean, and the resounding sound of the surf fills the entire apartment. You walk out onto the beach. You have sunsets beamed right into your living room. You are right next to beautiful Pacific Beach, with all of its restaurants, bars, nightlife and shopping. (And yes, right next to a few hygenically challenged folks, but for the most part, the local beach people are great.) In short, great location. San Diego is a beautful city and PB is an iconic part of this town. This is what you are NOT paying for. You are not paying for brand new, squeaky clean up to date accommodations. The Capri is old and each unit is individually owned. Some owners take better care of their places then others. Some owners paint. Some dont. Some owners have furniture and beds that are under 20 years old. Some dont. Some pay to clean up the occasional mold or fix the wear and tear. Some dont. Some units have more than four spoons in the kitchen. Some dont. When you make your reservation, you dont know which owner youre going to get. You take your chances. And, like I said, this is a lot of money to be gambling on this sort of thing. You are also not paying for a well organized, efficient and knowledgeable staff. Check in time is 4pm. However, at 4pm, the one person who is working behind the desk who is responsible for checking people in, leaves her post, as she is done for the day. A poor, overworked and hassled security guard, takes over and he cant answer any questions and has no authority to do anything except you give the key fob and a copy of the THE RULES. I can go on and on about the key fobs and THE RULES. This place expects you to follow a very strict set of rules. They will fine you for violating them and they are not afraid to tell you this. Unfortunately, THE RULES are the only things they know. They are completely incapable of handing any other problem or issue that THE CUSTOMER may have. I cant believe how many times I was told, I dont have the authority to answer that question. When you ask who does have the authority, they give you the name of a different person who is not working at that time. When you find that person, they will also tell you they dont have any authority and cant help you, but will find you another person, who is not working that particular day, who may or may not be able to help you. So, if you arrive at 4pm and your room is no ready, theres no where to go and nothing you can do and no one you can talk to. If you discover that your sheets are not clean and covered in blood stains, theres no one there who can help you. If an owner decides to remodel the bathroom of a neighboring unit during the busy summer tourist months and demolition starts at 7am and they shut the water off to your room, then theres no one you can talk to about this, no one who has the authority to help you. Now these things all happened to us. Actual events. And I am not going to list EVERYTHING that happened, as this review is already too long. The response from All Seasons was a resounding silence. These units are all owned by people who probably do not care in the slightest about any issues you are facing and they hire people who do a good job of adopting that attitude. If you wish to stay here you must understand that. It really is a great location and we had a ton of fun, but dont expect the quality of service you normally would for the prices you are paying for the Capri. I would seriously consider staying her again, but I know what Im paying for now.
We rented a house managed by Capr-Beach Accomodations through airbnb for my birthday weekend to spend with close friends and our kids. Shortly after checking in we were sitting in the patio which overlooks the boardwalk. My son lives in Pacific Beach and walked over to the house with his small pug (emotional support dog) to say hello to us. I was aware that no pets were allowed at this rental but after reviewing the house rule book it said that pets were not allowed in the house or garage. My son entered through the gate of the patio and sat with us on the patio with his dog. He wasn’t there 10 minutes when my phone rang, and it was Peter calling. He started by yelling at me that no pets were allowed. I tried to explain that the dog was not staying and she is, did not enter the house and would be leaving. He was so hostile towards me I put him on speaker so my family and friends could witness how rude and unreasonable Peter was. I assured him my son would be leaving with the dog immediately. We were perplexed as to how Peter knew about the dog coming into the patio so quickly. We then looked up and there was a security camera pointing at us with a bright green light on. We looked around the house and found 2 other cameras that were active. This was never disclosed to us. There was also a broken shower that he never bothered to disclose to us and refused to have it repaired or looked at. He said if we didn’t like it, we could pack our stuff and go back to Chula Vista.I agree with the other reviews, the house is beautiful and very clean. It’s unfortunate the host made us feel very unwelcomed and uncomfortable with his hostile attitude and surveillance. I reported the incident Airbnb in response they refunded almost half the amount paid for the house. Also be aware of the binder full of rules and fines associated with them.
This is a time share or condo unit building. We rented a 1 bedroom on the 6th floor through VRBO. All rooms of this building has 180 degrees of ocean view. Each unit inside is up to the owners for decor. The only downside is the pool is not in the building, but outside in an adjacent apartment complex that has no view and no jacuzzi either.
This resort was so disgusting. When I arrived there, I was shocked by the dirtiness of the room. It was absolutely cleaned when I checked in. But you can find different colors of hairs on the bed. The sheet sets were so worn-out that it had holes. You can also find disgusting blood spots and yellow stains on the sheets and quilts. The bathroom was horrible too. You can also find hairs on the towels. I dont want to call them towels because they were very shabby and turned to yellow and black color, even my kitchen cloth is better than these things. But wait, hold your breath in the kitchen. You can find new things there, such as lipsticks, coffee stains, and even food debris on the mugs, glasses, knives, forks, everywhere!I really didnt want to spend my night there but my family arrived there after dinner time and theres already no receptionist at the front desk, so I had to sleep in super angry. The next day, I complained to the receptionist and the guy admitted it was their problems and promised to refund me the room rate. But they didn’t keep their words. They still charged me full price!!! I called the resort later, the receptionist just left me to a voice mail, and on one called me back! This resort was so terrible. Despite the ocean view, the apartment was so worn-out and dirty, and the people work there are dishonest. I had pictures and voice recording which can proof my words. But still I cannot protect my right. The only thing I can do is to write a review that might help people stay away from this horrible place!
We rented a condo unit through airbnb for about $2k for 5 days in the middle of summer. We got there, and there was no AC!!!! No HVAC, no wall unit, nothing. No vents in the ceiling, floors or walls. It was stifling in this condo. The only time we ended up spending there was when we were attempting to sleep in the 80-90° weather. Dont go here unless you have a portable A.C. unit or if you enjoy sweating from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, and every minute in between. If it hadnt been for the view, and the fact that the owner of the condo issues no refunds, (and of course doesnt tell you up front that theres no air conditioning) we would have never even slept there, and instead would have opted for ANY OTHER HOTEL ON THE BEACH!
Im a former employee. I got fired because I speak with management about the work conditions. I was a housekeeper. They pay only $18.55 for a one bedroom condo, $24.00 for a 3 bedroom. Recently they ask for a more detailed clean, they expect housekeepers to clean the one bedroom in one hour and a half, the two bedroom in two hours. All housekeepers agree that that is not enough time to do that. So me, Aleyda Martinez and another coworker complain about this. They fired me saying that I harassed the housekeeping manager. I didnt do that. I know this was retaliation because of my complaint.I just want to say that this company doesnt care about their employees. That management is failing at his job since they dont accept any suggestion or complaint.I hope that you as a customer see this, is not a socially responsable company and you as a customer have the power to change that.
This place is sort of dingy and run-down, especially for the high prices! We thought it would offer nice units because they seemed really angry when I asked if we could bring our dog (and lots of much much nicer hotels are dog friendly), so we figured maybe they were worried about having pets or children damage a brand new interior. Nope. There is nothing new in these rooms, and we found the bedding and shower to smell of mould and the floors to be quite dirty. In need of a serious update! Plus, this is a very noisy area, and we had trouble sleeping. I would not come back again for half the price.

2022-06-13The powerful flood lights on the roof of the building are unnecessary and make walking that section of the beach at night unpleasant. Theres no reason for you to light up the beach like that. No one likes sitting on the beach a night with flood lights in their face or their backs, all while adding to the light pollution.

2022-02-02I have stayed here before and my recent stay was a bit disappointing. The pros are the location and views. The cons are that the building is outdated, the units are old, and the decor is lacking. I stayed in a bedroom. My room’s window didn’t properly close allowing in tons of noise pollution. The bathroom and showers are old. The furniture was all old and squeaky. I felt like this place is decorated like a senior living facility. The value is not there for the money they charge.

2022-01-30We reserved a two bedroom unit they gave us #310. The Wi-Fi and the cable TV wasnt working. We were moved to #710 the next day. Unit 710 was definitely an upgrade from 310. Everything was better. If I stayed in 310 I would have given them a 2⭐. 710 had electric blinds while 310 had broken and missing vertical blinds. 310 refrigerator ice maker wasnt working. 310 2nd bedroom didnt have a cable box. 310 needed a paint job. 310 appliances and furniture needed an upgrade. Both units dont have A/C but the ocean air was cool. Im not sure what it would be like in the summer though. It was winter 310 didnt have a heater while 710 did. You cant beat the beach view and the proximity to all the restaurants though The service was good. I needed documents to be printed and faxed to our escrow company. The asst manager agreed to do it for me, which saved me time so I didnt have to go to Staples. I would definitely come back again but beware not all the condo units are equally in the same condition.

2021-08-19I had a great time at Capri by the Sea. So many things within walking distance and where we stayed was clean and nicely decorated. It had good security features with their beeper on the room keys, which you had to scan to enter the elevator, and to push the button for your floor. Not to mention the view of the beach!

2021-04-12We go here twice a year and stay in a family friends condo on the nineth floor and it is so beautiful. The condo its self is recently renovated completely modern. Capri by The Sea as a whole is nice and right on the beach. We love it here. If you are going during covid times they do require masks in common areas and the shops will require them as well, but as long as you are outside, no need.

2021-12-24This is probably the most beautiful place in PB. Choose wisely your property management. Look for Nancys vacation rentals!

2020-10-25This place was amazing! Great view, great room, great hospitality! The check in person was especially kind and helpful. It was great having chairs and sand toys already available to take down to the beach. Next time we are in town, we will definitely be staying here!
