The sales team at Capital City Honda were fantastic. Gio and Josh were more than kind to help me purchase a new Ridgeline.They allowed me to pick up my truck on a Sunday and I was in and out in less than a couple hours. Josh went through all the details of the truck.The process of buying the truck was no stress at all as I felt no pressure from the Capital City Honda.I am already referring my niece from the Bay Area to buy her next car through this dealership. Highly recommend Capital City Honda and also Devon, the GM...super down to earth gentleman! Thank you and I love my new truck!
I cant put into words how incredibly frustrating this dealership is. If I could give less stars, I would. This is the most unprofessional place Ive ever had the displeasure of dealing with. When it came to financing the vehicle, I specifically told them which bank I wanted to go thru, and after lying to my face saying they had done it, those people financed the car thru some other bank !!! Extremely unprofessional!!!!!! After I checked with my banks personal banker and loan officer, there was no record of the dealership submitting a loan application to my bank!!!! Where I was approved for a loan with 3% less interest than the one they gave me at the dealership!!! Do yourself a favor and TAKE YOUR BUSINESS SOMEWHERE ELSE!
The staff at CCH were truly a great team! I found my ideal Honda CR-V within a matter of hours of it being posted online. When I called to confirm that it was still available, a salesman named Mung was gracious enough to confirm and offered to have me get it the same day. However, I decided to pick it up the following day due to the late hour.The vehicle was much better in person and fully clean with new floor mats despite it being a certified used vehicle. Junior was very patient and thorough with all of my questions and really made the experience worthwhile. Ray in finance was also really gracious in ensuring that I had a great deal and warranty for my vehicle. I appreciated his timeliness in explaining all vehicle matters as I inquired and I never felt rushed despite my personal reservations when it came to car buying. Tarek was efficient at making a small correction to my paperwork a couple days later which wasnt on the dealership end. Overall, my experience and interaction at CCH was an experience Im happy to remember and share.Its now been about 2 months since I purchased my CR-V and Ive been having a wonderful time learning about all of its specs and driving it around town!Many thanks to CCH team!!
We always have great experiences at Capital City Honda. This is my fourth time getting a car from here and everyone is always so helpful. Junior is quick and makes sure to get you answers as quickly as possible and Mike Lozano is always so great with the whole process as well.
Worst dealership, getting the run around since November of last year!It was not an issue when I traded in my civic now that I have some concerns and I am following up on a reimbursement it’s like getting through bricks. Should of just went with Stockton Honda who has great service and follows up. I guess I wanted to save gas lol- jokes on me.
Let’s see. If you like being lied to and you like to be frustrated this is the place to go. If you have georgio as your sales person I would suggest to leave this guy is a goofball. Bought a car in December and am now getting bills from fastrak for my car I traded in. Getting notifications from dmv that they are going to suspend my license because I canceled the insurance on my trade in. Called multiple times to resolve this with capital city. Never got a callback if you want a car don’t go here. Liars and goofs. Wrote a different review but was never posted so I don’t expect this one to be posted either. If it is don’t to capital Honda. They really don’t know what they are doing
My Honda Odyssey EX-L 2020 has 4 recalls. I was there at 8am and it was done around 1:45pm. Theres a lot of us who made an appointment. But its ok. Its worth waiting because everything was taken cared of. The staffs are friendly. Bill, my service advisor, took good care of me.
Proceed with caution, up charging and dishonesty is capital city Sacramento policies. I arrived at my appointment early and submitted pre approval for loan ahead of time as they asked. When I arrived the car I thought I was buying that day was now “in transit” and 10-15 days out. Frustrating but it happens. We sit down to start the paperwork to then find out the price I was quoted didn’t include the “extras.” For example, I have to pay $900 for tinted windows. Let’s be real, they weren’t going to tint the windows at the dealership so it wasn’t a option, why wasn’t that in the price AJ quoted me? There was a total of 5k of extra charges. AJ leaves to talk to manager and comes back with exciting news! A truck just came in and they have several cars I can buy today. I looked at them and decided to stick with what I truly want, figured better two wait 10-15 days and get the best car for me. We go back to AJ’s desk where he then confesses the car I want has been sold and they have none in transit. I live an hour away from this dealership and had to take the day off of work and get a ride from a family member. What a waste of time! Avoid this place if you can.
Dont buy a car from this dealership. Extremely unprofessional etiquette and lousy customer service left me with headaches that noone should have to deal with after making a 40k investment. I emailed over 2 months ago and management still hasnt reached out about the issue. If they make it right Ill update the review but would hate for someone to go through what Ive been through.
They had our 2018 Honda Ridgeline for 7 weeks. It was first misdiagnosed and we waited weeks for parts. Then they said it needed a new engine. Almost $8000.00 later the 4 year old car was fixed with an used engine. After 7 weeks, the misdiagnosis, and a huge repair on a relatively new truck, Honda could not be bothered to return it clean. This is not a good example of good customer service or a car you can depend upon. We’ve bought several Hondas and Acuras, no more.
I saw a review of chj7667 said this place does not exist.And I dont like the negative review of giving 1 star when you can not find the place. My friends just bought the car their and Capital City Honda was Extraordinary. Gio was fantastic.So if you cant follow the Map, dont be negative and giving 1 star review. Thats evil
I did not have a pleasant visit with capital Honda. our sales rep AJ was not a pleasant person to work with. He did not smile, nor introduce himself to me. (i had to look at his business card to catch his name)i was trying to be friendly however it felt more like i was wasting his time. Small talks of just saying how is your day and he just gave me a blank stare and ignores me.it was unfortunate because i am a mel rapton honda customer and i had a great experience with my sales rep! it wasnt worth my family or my time talking to someone who doesnt have good customer service. we will be taking our business with another dealership. And dont worry your Honda civic look better on your dealers lot more than my parking spot at home
Ever since they sold the dealership its turned to a miserable place to be. Services take way longer and when I took my car in to get serviced, they destroyed my valve stems on my brand new tires. The valve stems were just replaced too. When I asked them about getting it fixed they said I could make an appointment to go in, wait 2+ hours to have it fixed, and it wouldnt nessasarily be free to fix. Garbage service. If you break something, fix it and dont make the customer jump through hoops because you messed up. Save yourself time and frustration and just go somewhere else. Lost a customer of almost 20 years over a $10 part 👏.
Phan Vue gave us excellent and exceptional service. He was kind, patient and competent in helping us out in a tight squeeze right before we had to go out of state. Could not recommend this person enough. He did an excellent job accompanied with excellent customer service and at the end of the day/week. DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE MAKING A PURCHASE OR LEASING A VEHICLE!!! Thats the only way to make sure you arent paying for any additional fees, services, etc. The sales manager and finance guy will straight lie to your face, looking you dead in the eye with a huge smile just to squeeze as much money from you as possible.For this dealership, I can at least say they arent marking up thousands of dollars over the MSRP. But beware of the additional charges: Karr Kare (a BS security feature - that can be removed and comes with a monthly fee), accessories that you are NOT obligated to purchase, extra protection services, etc.If you plan on making a purchase here, ask for Chris Wilkins. If youve done your homework, he can make the purchasing of your new/used car seamless.
I scheduled an appointment today and dropped off at 7:45 for a routine oil change and tire rotation. Plus needed under carriage screws replaced. They did not call me to pick up my car until 3pm. Called the dealership and asked about it twice. All other departments just say oh IDK hopefully a tech will call. Saying all this to say this, Customer Service is on a decline everywhere, but I had hope for this Dealership and gave it a shot. I hope things change until then. ✌🏽✌🏽
I visited several car dealerships in search of my new car and then ended up at Capital City Honda after a call from a salesperson named AJ. I came down the next day and met AJ. He was a complete professional. No pressure just friendly service and the knowledge to answer all of my questions. AJ and management did a great job in getting the deal done without taking up hours of my very busy day. I would also like to say that Devin and Jaime in management were both extremely professional and helpful. I dont write many reviews but I would recommend Capital City Honda to anyone looking to purchase a car.
I’ve been coming to Mel Rapton Honda for vehicle service for several decades, always impressed with the personal level of effective and efficient service, as well as the excellent communication. In the last several months, the Rapton family sold the business to a large corporation that runs many Honda sales and service locations. The folks in the Service Department who remain are sure trying to continue to provide that five star high-quality service I appreciated over the years. However, sadly it’s clear that will be difficult. When I called to make my appointment and had questions, the new call center had to transfer me to the brick and mortar location and the service staff I spoke with didn’t have time to answer my questions about service details related to a new issue I was having with the car. He seemed rushed and abrupt. When I arrived, I observed far fewer staff including no one to check my car in. The same person at the check in stations inside the door was doing that, as well as checking me out after work was completed. It made for about 20 minutes of extra wait time despite there also being the fewest number of customers I’d ever seen there for vehicle service. He also seemed rushed and did not have time to answer my questions. One item I scheduled to have done was not done - they wanted to reschedule it even though I was told on the phone when I was making the appointment that the parts for that repair were in stock. So, I’ll need to come back. Again, I want to emphasize that Mel Rapton service was five-star quality before sale of this business. The new Capital City Honda service is not the same, and appears to have reduced staff at the cost of them reducing the quality of customer service. I saw the same issues occurring with other customers while I was there. I don’t fault the Rapton team members who remain and who were working hard and I hope the new corporate owner of this business will reconsider its business model or I may find a less corporate mechanic to service my vehicle. It’s the old Mel Rapton team who will bring me back for now.
Really struggling to get our car fixed here. We’ve dropped it off twice because the cell phone charger doesn’t work on our 2021 car. Despite dropping it off first thing in the morning, with an appointment, they wait until 430 to look at it, both times, and need to keep it for an additional day.The first time I mentioned that the radio and entertainment system seemed to cut out and stop working- something electrical going on. After they insisted they couldn’t get it to repeat, they realized there was a recall and repaired per the bulletin (2 days to figure out it was a known issue).Hop in my filthy car (noted a complementary wash on the receipt - obviously not done) to find out the cell phone charger STILL IS NOT WORKING.We’re on the second go round now. Two days in, I was told nothing wrong and to come pick up. Then “oops, it’s doing exactly what you said.” A new person today claiming it works fine and now I can’t get a return call.Don’t waste you money or your time. Take your car to one of the several other Honda dealers around for a better experience.
Found the truck of my retirement dreams, Neil Hindi replied via my logging into their website, wanted the used but fairly new GMC 2021 with 3,859 miles. Asked if they could hold it because I work in the Bay Area. FIrst response was no, cannot hold. I replied I have $30k to put down and I can come in and sign for the vehicle. Next response was they can hold it for 5 days. I make arrangements to be there on 12/31/21 at 10:00 am. I take my wife and sister so they can see the truck. We arrived at 9:46 am, I receive a text from Neil and it states that I need to ask for Georgio. I meet him and I walk out towards the vehicle and Georgio is inside getting the keys. Georgio arrives near us and says the vehicle was sold, another salesperson near us says he sold it last night, I asked why wasnt it held. No answer on either salesperson face but I do notice a smirk on Georgios face. So I had already received a text and now an email from Devin Smith the General manager of Capital City Honda welcoming me to his dealership. I responded to Neil via text and to Devin via email regarding the misinformation about holding the truck. No response from Devin or Neil until Devin writes me an email after I posted a negative review on CarFax about his dealership. 12 day or in my world 13 days after the misinformation or lieing event. I dont minx words, If you tell someone you are going to do something and dont thats a lie in my world, funny how a GM of a dealership cannot see a lie in bold text. Who out there has been lied to, by a dealership or salesperson at a dealership?
Disappointing sales experience. They were quick to say no dealer mark-ups but fail to mention they are going to make you pay 5k for dealer added accessories and services you didnt ask for. I get the times were in, but completely wasted my time dropping this bit of info 1.5 hours after quoting us the msrp price and starting the whole credit and trade in process. Just be up front guys, why the bait and switch. Good luck. Left a bad taste and Ill keep looking somewhere else.Oh and the car they told us was not being delivered until Jan 3 just happened to show up while we were in the middle of this. What a coincidence.
I spent about an hour on the lot and currently... I feel its ok.Im new(er) to car shopping in person so I am more cautious than most. First impression was good with location and selection, but started downhill with the assumption I hadnt put in an appointment. I had called yesterday to arrange the test drive, but the guy I called mustve not taken me seriously because there was no record. Niel jumped right up though and was easy to talk to.The cars are closer to normal pricing, but the quality is a little questionable. Some of the cars look great, but some are VERY used (beaters) visibly worn/damaged. Dirty I can deal with, but these would normally be on a auction/we finance/your job is your credit lot. They do have an awesome app based car alarm system Ill definitely consider.

My 2011 Kia Fortes AC went out and it was going to be a $1200 fix and I only had about $2000 left to pay off my loan. So I just recently went to Mel Rapton to even see if they were willing to take my car as a trade-in and they did. My sales representative is AJ Cosgro and he is the best! He helped get me a good deal and got me the car that I wanted! A 2018 Nissan Rogue. This place is truly the best.
Make sure you make an appointment or you will wait 4 hours for a oil change as I did. I had been a customer for about 20 years so imagine my shock when I was treated like nothing. I guess thats what happens when you sell out to a corporation. They dont care about the customer anymore. On a side note my friend who has helped me there for as long as I can remember, Nicholas Salazar is a great guy who you can always count on. He Is a stand up guy with A1 customer service. Not to be discredited by the companys terrible business sense.
Traded our 2016 Honda accord for a 2018 Honda accord Ill miss the blue one. Its was my favorite. We brought our son home in it when he was born, its taken us to Nebraska and Idaho twice, to the coast a few times. Its was our first brand new car. We out alot of live into it.
Biggest waste of time ever. Before making the hour trip there I called to verify the car I was interested in was available. They were aware of the distance I was coming and said they would be there. Upon arrival I was taken to the back to view the car and test drive it. After the drive I asked about the price I was told what the sticker said was good. I specifically asked if anything else would be added when we went inside and was told only the tax and license fees. At this point the only added charge was a stupid paint coating for just under $200 and destination of $1,015 I wanted to discuss the destination charge and was told he has not seen that change. I explained it was worth talking about and if they would adjust it some I would sign the papers and give them $20,000 down today. We went inside and started to go through the steps, my license, job, references, insurance. My sales person walks away and comes back and proceeded to tell me that now the price is going to be almost $2,000 more for upgrades they had planned to do. (Black lug nuts, trunk liner.) When I said I did not want them I was told the car was not for sale. So it’s for sale if I leave it here and pay for things I don’t want but since you don’t want them it’s not ready yet. I wanted to know why I was told it was available and the response was , well it was available to test drive. What!!!! I asked to speak with a manager and was told that is not how they do things. He had asked if he could sell it without the upgrades and was already told no. He was afraid he would get yelled at if he asked again. I wasted 4 hours of my day and was never allowed to speak with anyone else.
Mel Rapton Honda dealership provides very responsible service in all areas. I have been satisfied with the personal assistance provided by the employees. I appreciate their good customer service and expertise in each department. Lastly, I have been very pleased with the good deals I have received on car purchases through the years.
I recently purchased a 2020 Pilot from Mel Rapton Honda & traded in my CRV, and it turned out to be an awesome experience! Every person I worked with was extremely kind, patient, and helpful. Katina helped pick out different accessories to make the car one of a kind, which was very important to me. She was able to work within my budget, still helping me build a car I would fall in love with. Georgio and Chuck showed me everything about the car that I needed to know. They were both very knowledgeable about all of the details, and showed that they really cared that I fully understood my new car and felt comfortable with all its features. Finance (Jaime) was also very nice and took time to explain all of the numbers. Even the detailers took extra care. The dealership itself was beautiful and clean - everyone wore masks! All of the workers seemed so happy to be there. The highlight was getting to meet the MRH mascot, Lilly! She was SUPER sweet and played with my daughter which helped bypass some time. I would highly suggest anyone in the Sacramento/Bay Area to check out MRH, you will NOT be disappointed! All around, amazing experience.
I want to warn all you folks out there, what was once a nice family owned dealership has sold out to this corporate entity known as Group 1 and will no longer be known as Mel Rapton Honda. Employees are walking out, your phone calls go to some random call center in Texas and the prices for parts and service are jumping up compared to what MR used to charge. I know all this from a former employee who walked away and talked to me about it. Be very wary of these people, dont forget they are a corporation and their top priority is their shareholders and executives, not you!
Always friendly, service staff always helpful and caring. They have been backed up because they closed one side of the service area due to covid-19, make an appointment for any service before you go, hopefully they will have the other service area open soon and oil changes wont take as long.
Mikes Customer Service was greatly missed yesterday! I waited 15 minutes before any one acknowledge me. I waited in line, there was a representative at his desk right when you enter at the right hand side of the service department he ignored me the whole time I was there. Finally, Nicholas Salazar came in and took care of me.
Came for 11:00 am appointment was told by my service guy Mike it will be done less than 2 hrs, recommended to not leave eventho i said i wanted to have their shuttle service to take me home then comeback when it’s done, he said just wait in the lobby because it will be a quick fix for my car recall software update only. Well, here comes 3 hrs 45 mins and I’m just getting my car back. Terrible service. For sure our 4 honda cars are not gonna have business with them anymore.
This is by far the worst Honda service center I have been too as a Honda driver for over a decade and when I arrived to pick up my car all persons where on cell phones did not greet myself or others walking in before me when I walked to cashier to pay for services was acceptable while when waiting I walk to the outside to request my car they first ignored me then as I came closer they told me to ask inside and I have someone offer me the wrong Car. I asked “did you lose my car” the female who was offering the wrong car and the service specialist just said no and walked away. I was offered the correct car the second time. Disappointed in the horrible, unprofessional, and lack of complete effort that this service center is treating Honda customers with such poor conditions. I recommend to save your valuable time and money for quality service at other Honda service centers.
I went in for an oil change and they also rotated my tires. Upon leaving, straight to work, I noticed my steering wheel would begin to shake during deceleration.I reached out to Mel Rapton Honda while I was at work to let them know what I was experiencing. Michael, the service advisor helping me, told me to bring it back a t my convenience and they would put me into a complementary rental while they looked into the issue. Turns out, my tires just needed a quick balance! I had my car back the same day that I dropped it off.I was very much grateful for the rental, as well as them quickly identifying and correcting the issue, and at no charge! Great place. This, and my previous email experience, is why I keep coming back. Thanks, guys!
Had 3 issues on my. 2004 Honda Civic EX . Mike Lyman was honest and treated me with respect.Thought I needed brakes but after the inspection he said did not need yet. Other 2 issues was not needed as I thought. I use to go to maita honda for service, well not anymore.Thanks Mike for your Service.
Honda mal rapton had very good customer service before but right now thy not friendly even manager of them is bad too don’t have good behavior with customers. It was beg experience for me today on 6/5/2021, because I finalize the deal with mr. Erick and manager told me me I don’t want to sell a car to you then I told him ok give me my all paperwork I don’t want to have any deal with mal rapton Honda when it has this kind of manager.
Everyone that Ive interacted with at this car dealership is awesome (service reps, receptionists, shuttle drivers...)! They are so friendly and nice, and always go above and beyond in their customer service, making sure the customer is pleased and has everything they need. Sure, the service wait is usually long, but thats because these guys truly do a good job at what they do. They genuinely care and they offer the best in Honda service! Thanks Mel Rapton!
Worst dealership experience ever. I bought brand new Honda Accord from them and they charged me $200 extra for some made up paint job. After few day the dashboard of my car stared rattling so I had to take my car to the their repair department they took 4+ Hours twice total 8hours and still weren’t able to fix the issue. when I took this matter to manager he try to give me $5 coupons as a Compensation( Really Jack? ) I should have gone to Elk Grove they Have lower Sale tax than Sacramento and I would have saved few hundred dollars off the taxes ,plus those $200 for so called paint protection. Stay away from this people.
This is the worst service experience at mel Radotín Honda today 11/29/2020 i ever seen I had the appointment for oil change at 12:15. I checked in at 12:05. At 1:30 I came to check if my car is ready. Service provider told me that my car was still walking on that. I waited and waited till 3:00 pm still didnot hear any call from them.i came back and told them that I have been waiting close to three hours and I have an appointment. The guy picked up the phone and called the person who worked on my car so found out the job was finished but the guy didnot return my key and paperwork to the service center.i was tired and exhausted for the very lousy service and no sorry from the service provider. I will not ever come back to this dealer. It wastes my time
Let me start off by saying that I’ve done all my services at this dealership and recently for a B1 service for a 2012 Honda odyssey they wanted to charge me $140 I called around and Elk Grove Honda only charges $85 which is basically an oil change tire rotation and inspection so I guess their inspections cost $55 more? Ridiculous will never be going back unless they fix the prices and I’m only 5 miles away from them Elk Grove Honda is 20 miles for me
Really bad customer service. I went to get quote of my car they even did respond to my questions. Receptionist was busy on her phone didn’t ask me why i am there. I waited 5 then find a sales person his behaviour was awful. Even i had qoute 2 weeks before but he said thats the price if you want to sell if not you can go. They treated me like i am begging in front of them. Really really disappointed. I had been there customer 8 years but no more.
Really unsatified I pruchased new honda odyssey 2022 (06/1/8/2021). driver side mirror was shaking .when i reached service on 06/19/2021 there said there will order new and replace by 06/25/2021. when i reached there customer care horrioble response there no order in my profile. I reached 06/25 serivce center there confirmed there place order on 06/21. order was back ordered there saying week or 2 weeks now.I feeling too bad on this place .I will not recommend to buy and serivce this place.
They have always been fast and efficient at fixing my car or changing the oil. They never steer me wrong. Never try to tell me something is wrong with my car if its not true. Ive had to wait once for my oil the be changed. Normally I go home and come back but today I couldnt get home. Had my 4 month old with me. The GM Katrina went above and beyond to help give me a clean, comfortable, and private place to breastfeed while we waited. I will not take my car anywhere else but here.
When I visit here, please just do the service I am requesting and not throw $400 -$900.00 worth of service, I did not request. I know my car. I can feel and hear the changes. Thank.you for the information, but unless its free or youre knocking off the labor charges, nothing will get repaired, until I can afford it.Secondly, speed Express service on along. Its impossible to have my oil change on a Saturday without a three hour wait. We work during the week, so many of us can only come on a Saturday.When servicing my car at 6:30am on a weekday, get me out of here by 7:30am please. I now know your techs do not start until 7am. Ugh. The inconveniences Honda puts its loyal customers through. Use genuine Honda parts. This may stop soon.
I would have given five stars but a part did not arrive although I received a call indicating the part had arrived! Nevertheless, the service is always great. Paul is a pleasure to have as the representative who helps you with the check in and explains everything. Very thorough. Rich, the shuttle drive, is a great driver and I felt safe while he drove. I bought my car from Mel Rapton Honda 2 years ago and have been going there for service ever since.I actually live in San Francisco, and when I was looking to purchase a car I went to every dealer in the area across companies, majority tried to make deals and bump up prices. The sales people at Mel Rapton Honda were great, gave me the best price, were accommodating to my work hours, helped me pick the color and gave me tips.The service people have been outstanding. They have hands down have been the most accommodating group I have had the pleasure of interacting with. They are always friendly and helpful on the phone and in person. They dont overcharge me for things, dont tell me I need something when I dont. They go out of their way to help me out in multiple situations, like late nights at work and needing to get my car taken care of. They are always pleasant and always wash my car afterwards which is a nice perk! Thanks guys for all that you do!I dont enjoy the regular drive to Sacramento for work, but I do enjoy that I have Mel Rapton Honda there to help take care of my car, which is running very nicely! Thanks again to the entire service team!
I had brought my 08 Accord on Wed (9/26) because I was having issues with my sunroof. I paid $140 and was told that it was computer issue. I then had to return Monday (Oct 1) because the issue was still happening. At first Mike (service advisor) told me that they looked at it again and that it was still a computer issue and then I was told that they couldnt get the sunroof closed at all. They said that the open relay in the motor had went out and that the whole part needed to be replaced. I was told the cost would be $971 for the repair. I offered to pay half for the labor and buy the part but at first they would not accept my offer even though I told them that it wasnt my fault that they misdiagnosed the original issue. I was then given a rental car (at no charge) because my car needed to stay overnight while they tried to close it. I called Tuesday and still there was not progress in getting the sunroof closed. I called Wednesday and had to jump through several hoops (because my service advisor failed to communicate to me that he would be out the next two days) just to get to the Asst. Service Manager Jim who then told that they still have not gotten my sunroof closed and told me that any negotiations for the price would need to be made with his service manager who was out for the day. Jim did order the part but told me that my car wasnt going to be worked on for that day anyways. Thursday I drove down to Mel Rapton, to talk to the Service Manager Larry and he was very helpful. He continued to have the tech look at the sunroof but then tells me that there might be binding of the cords or something else caught in the track of the sunroof which maybe activating a safety feature keeping the sunroof from trying to close. I was told that it would be about $600 for the part alone. So I was forced for them to disconnect the motor and manually close the sunroof and leave the fuse out of the slot so that it stays closed permanently (which they charged me another $75 for). I now have to find another way to have my sunroof fixed because of this whole ordeal. The only helpful people out of this situation was Larry the service manager and Angela the receptionist because of her extreme efforts to get someone to talk to me about my car while my service advisor was out for that day. I honestly can say this was the worst experience I have ever had with Mel Rapton Honda, and I am very disappointed in the quality of service that was given to me. Disappointed to the point where I think I will not ever return to have my car serviced by Mel Rapton Honda or even to purchase a car in the future.
Best customer service! I was having a crisis and needed my car looked at immediately with no notice. They helped me so quickly and were so nice. I ended up needing a new car battery. They answered every single one of my questions, got me a discount on the price for a new battery, and were just such nice people! I am very satisfied with how well they treated me here. Huge appreciation the employees that helped me, Nick and Bambi. Awesome people!
We were given exceptional service by Terry Baysa from the time we walked in to the time we drove away in our 2019 Honda CRV EX. He provided information about the car that (I believe) other dealers don’t provide. He made us feel comfortable and even eased my hunger pains with a sealed bag of popcorn. I love the diversity of all the sales reps. We are truly satisfied with our CRV. Thanks again Terry!
Best service ever. Ive purchased 2 cars here and trust only the Mel Rapton service team for major issues. For years, their customer service has been great. They recently were able to fit me in last minute , on my only Saturday off for the month for service the NEEDED to be done asap. That was awesome.
The management at this location is total trash when it comes to customer service and taking responsibility for not figuring out the problem with apple play not functioning on their vehicles. They would rather make it easier for themselves and send you somewhere else than actually bring in anyone that may be an expert or a technician for the issue. You cant use your gps or music on your screen? Oh well, they dont care and will leave you with a shoulder shrug and send you away after they try some basic procedures and nothing further.
I had the best experience at Mel Rapton Honda. Xavier and all of the staff were extremely helpful. Xavier was friendly, knowledgeable, and especially helpful in getting the car that I wanted. Brought our new (to us) Odyssey in for an oil change and inspection. They checked it in & found a fix for a seat recall so we agreed to have that taken care of as well. They were quick, efficient, and friendly - even calling me the next day to make sure my visit had met my expectations.
Mel Rapton always has my back. I have been taking my 07 Element there since I purchased it in 09 from somewhere else. The service personnel always greets you with an energetic smile. (Before Covid) Mr. Nick Salazar my service rep always treats me well and lets me know if anything arises for potential problems. All in all a great place to take your Honda for service. P.S. ove the free car wash. 👈 👌
Worse customer service, never returns the call on time cant trust this place giving the car for servicing. I recommend buying cars from other dealer shops than this people, since the day I purchase the car from them every time I need to run after them to get things done.
An amazing car-buying experience! Terry came out in a wine-pink suit and raised his hands to welcome us as we walked across the lot. We were looking for a used Honda Fit because a deer had destroyed the 2008 Fit, and we couldnt afford a new one. Terry took us around in a scooter and visited what they had, including some other brands, but none were a good fit. Finally, he left us in the showroom with spring water and popcorn, and came back in a while with a deal we could afford on a NEW Honda Fit. Everything was signed and the deal was closed. Then the next day their finance manager called to say hed been on the phone and talked Honda into giving us a lower interest rate than the outside financing upon which we had signed off. Amazing! I have never heard of a business doing anything like that. We got a lower monthly payment and a few months knocked off the length of the loan, and there was nothing in it for Mel Rapton other than making us very happy. Im sure there are other good sales people working there, but no one can match Terry for savoir faire, and he got us a better deal than we ever thought possible. I just have one suggestion: when you decide what car you want, comparison shop according to the monthly payment. Sales people can get you lost in a maize of prices + options + warranty + dealer prep + ...+..!And refuse to pay for options you dont want on a particular car they have in stock. We got a sky window we never use, but we didnt pay for it either.
This is a ZERO stars experience. Please look elsewhere for car maintenance. We took in the car for a walk in service because they refused to take appointments. When we got there, they told us it would be about an hour and a half. 3 hours go by with no update, we have work at 3pm. 2pm rolls by, still no update. We call and they say its ready. We go in and they say no its not ready. When we address our concerns to them, they gave us the typical costumer service BS speil and said they were backed up. Regardless, your failure to properly manage your cars and high work flow should not fall on your clients. You should CALL to NOTIFY your clients of time changes. And of course, they offered nothing for the inconvenience. They gave us the car at 230, we left in a rush. UNPROFESSIONAL!
I brought my car because the Apple car play USB wasnt working and they said they are going to diagnosed the car. After 6 hours, they called and said your car is fixed. I came and as soon as I connected my phone, it was still not working. The guy that was helping me Bill told me they diagnosed the car but when I asked the worker that was working on my car, he said they didnt diagnosed the car. They charged me $100 just to hard reset my car which I can do that myself. After lots of argument of giving my money back, they said they are going to give me $60 store credit. And after that they lied, they then diagnosed the car and said the USB part is broken and needs to be replaced which would cost me 250$ just to install and $30 for the part. I do not recommend this place. Even the managers are lying and trying to take money from us. Never coming here again. Mel Rapton = Mel rip off
Ive gone here for my oil changes and I love their customer care. They even gave me a ride back to my work place and the driver was a sweet guy to talk to. Best thing is, they dont push me to buy anything, but come up with my own decision after giving me all the information on upgrades.
Had an appointment for a basic maintenance (A17) at 9AM on a slow Saturday for this place, as confirmed by the rep and by my own observations from floor room while waiting. 4 hours here and after talking to the rep, it sounds like they just started...if I could give negative stars I would.
Car buying here was enjoyable. After a bad experience with another dealership, we decided to give Mel Rapton a try after my wife received almost an immediate response when she called to ask about a vehicle. The dealers were not pushy at all, negotiations were simple and hassle-free, and I never felt pressured to do something I wasnt sure of. Even the facility was nice, and my son enjoyed popcorn while watching TV in a kids room while I did the buying thing. Id buy here again.
Poor service and not trustworthy in the sales department changed there quote they had given me, after luring me into the dealership with a quote which the sales person told me was approved by the manger, on an almost new vehicle which had been returned in two days by the previous buyer. After wasting 4 hrs of my Sunday when after running my credit all was set we were just narrowing down on the monthly payment amount he came and told me there had been a mistake on the price and it would be about a couple thousand dollars more. What was surprising was the only reason i brought it up to them that I was looking for a vehicle was cause we service our other car with them. I am totally disappointed with their service
I leased my 2015 Honda Accord from here with only 14 miles on it so Ive always let them take care of all the maintenance work it needs to ensure the best care is taken on it. Unfortunately Mel Rapton Honda has let me down several times and Im done! They DONT actually care about my business or my time! Every service appointment Ive had there Ive always been told small lies from how long it would take to services not completed when paperwork says it has been. I will NOT EVER be returning to Mel Rapton Honda and I encourage all who do go there to double check visible work like air pressure
I love the team at this Honda! Everybody there is so wonderful to interact with and they really care about you. If you need a car I would recommend going over there and speaking with Sam or Tim, they are both outstanding gentlemen and will hook you up with a great deal you can’t resist!
I went for an airbag recall. They were pleasant, honest and efficient. Only thing of note was I waited for a shuttle that never arrived. I waited in the lobby for an announcement that I didnt hear or didnt happen. I was fine as I had a book to read. They finished on time and I left without charge.
First time experience here at Mel Raptor Honda.. I was and still am impressed.Being worried that I wouldn’t be approved for the vehicle of my dreams, Greg made sure to provide me the numbers I had hoped for. Kieth showed me the car probably and answered all of questions about the vehicle during the test drive. Before I drove back to the dealership, I knew the car I was driving was going to be it.Peter, Terry and Jamie worked with me towards the end of their shift to get me driving away on my new wheels. The Express service advisor was excellent, however when the mechanic replaced my battery he forgot to reset my anti theft alarm. This is the second time at this facility the mechanic DID NOT ensure he checked his work and made sure everything related to his work was working. To add more stress, one of the mechanics backing out from the Express garage almost backed into my car. If I hadnt sounded my horn he would of hit the whole passenger side. Coming to this facility is dicey.
Ive been coming here for years to service my Honda, but I watched them sell my sister a hybrid car that they couldnt even start. They promised to get it started and basically got it off the lot, but then a month later it had the same problem of not starting. Some of the sales people are too aggressive, but the service people are great. I actually like the instant brew coffee machine and they give my kids a sucker when we come.
A Magical Car Experience like no other! Preet was my Salesperson and he was Amazing. I just came to look and before I knew it he made feel comfortable at home and like family! As, I walked in the showroom every last person smiled and was super pleasant from the Front Dest person to the Maintenance Crew!! I could tell they all enjoyed their jobs!!!! 😎 I appreciated his knowledge and personality and that was a welcome change, even after I told him I was just looking!! I got the best deal ever to fit my needs 🤗🤗🤗🤗 So, even if your just looking please go to a place called home where they actually follow through and call you by NAME!! You can buy anywhere but, why? Greatness obviously trickles down from Management. The Financial part was quick and easy and even Finance was kind and not pushy!! They are the Nordstroms of the car business for sure! Very nice and helpful, but they hit a curb on 2 of my tires and will not replace them, when they had my car for repair, my car was a full tank, when I got it back it was almost half a tank, and they only drove about 40 miles, (Honda accord touring) a month later, I check my air filter, and 2 brackets that hold the box to cover to my air filter was broken, missing. Now I cant do nothing about it. Today I went to go buy transmission fluid, and the guy that has been helping me on my car, BILL SMITH, he acted really strang like he didnt want me to see him. I can careless now but I wouldnt recommend these people, take the car to another honda dealer ship.
I always feel its important to let a business know that they have an amazing super helpful employee.Today Kori Crawford saved me from traffic and and few hour of wasted time to schedule a service inspection on Monday.I was able leave my car at the dealer for weekend so they are able to have a look at 6:30am on Monday morning.I had made a similar request with another staff member and he was not having it. I have come into this dealership for 2 different reasons, one to buy car parts and the other time to buy a car. I have to say that those were 2 different experiences.The folks in the parts and service department are great and very helpful. However , the car salespeople and car selection is mediocre and left a lot to be desired. Our car salesperson was impatient and failed to go over the specs of different cars. He wanted us to buy a car and get out of there within 1 hr, unrealistic and unpleasant!
Worst experiences ever I have, very Bad Customer service, person went to break without inform anyone, found what was wrong In my car after 2 and half hour from another representative, take 1hour and 40min extra to fix it. I spent more than 4 hours. Taking too long break.
This place has always gave me above and beyond service. Very professional, clean, and friendly. Ive been taking my car here for about 10 years. They give you a card for free golf balls to hit at the course next door, has WiFi and cubicles to study, kids play area, free popcorn and drinks. Thanks Mel Rapton Honda!!
Went to get a key cut for my 1999 Honda accord, called the day before to make sure it could be done and was told price and that all I needed was my Id and the title. Went to get it done the next day and was treated very poorly. By Chad in the service dept. Was told that I needed to bring the car in for them to cut the key. Literally was asked to step aside while they helped another costumer. Long story short went to Maita Honda right after and got the key cut with no hassle. Will never do business with this dealership again.
Visiting family here in Sacramento and we realized we needed an oil change. We called them and were able to use the Express Services lane and were even given the online coupon price even though we hadnt printed it out. They changed the oil, two filters and rotated our tires and we were in the road in less than an hour from first driving in.Thank You guys so much!
I wish I never bought a car from this place. They are HORRIBLE! I’ll definitely be writing a formal complaint letter to whoever is in charge at this location. I’m not looking for a general manager, I’m looking for his boss. This place has been completely untrustworthy. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. They know how to make sales, but definitely nothing close to customer service.
I recently wrote a 5 star review about Mel Rapton but that was before I saw their true colors. After only 3 weeks of having my new car it had trouble starting on 3 seperate occassions. I brought it up back to Mel Rapton to be checked out, after returning my car the guys in Service said everything is fine. Exactly 1 week later I come out to my car after a long day of school (10 PM) and my car wouldnt start again. But everything was fine right? Nick said they ran multiple tests and nothing seemed to be wrong, although according to him he stated somebody forgot to connect the plugs to the battery. By far one of the most childish excuses I have ever heard and why isnt somebody double checking before they give cars back to their owners? THEY PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER. Making me drive my car from San Ramon to Sacramento with a sketchy battery. After taking my car back a THIRD TIME, they finally replaced my battery. (took them long enough) Mind you I live in the Bay Area, an hour and a half away from this dealership. This is not the only problem I had with Mel Rapton. The night I bought my car it was never fully detailed like its suppose to be when you buy a new car off the lot. It still had coffee stains and other nasty stains throughout the entire car. Also, not one employee ever offered to have me leave the car overnight so It could be detailed like it is suppose to. I specifically asked Nick Salazar for my car to be detailed all 3 times and still nobody ever did it. His excuse was Ive been off the last three days. So even if you are off for 3 days, wouldnt it make sense to contact your coworkers and let them know of this vital information? I am very dissapointed by the way I have been treated by the employees at this dealership. After returning my car for the 4th time I recieved a voicemail from Larry stating It was hard for my workers to detail your car because of the smell of smoke. At this point, I dont care. These guys had a job to do and failed in every single way possible. I even referred friends and my fiance to this dealership to buy a car. All they had to do was detail my car the first time and I wouldnt be sitting here writing this essay of a review. I could literally keep going because there is MORE, but you all get the picture. Nobody can do a decent job at their job anymore. I was very patient and kind throughout this whole experience and the service manager Larry literally has the balls to tell me that we will not service your car anymore, meanwhile they tell me i cannot take it to any other dealership? This is a joke, and I hope you read this before you visit this Dealership. The only genuine and good worker there is TIM PETIT.
I went in because I got an advertisement on IG that they were offering a Honda civic at $209/month with $995 due at signing. I screenshotted this advertisement. This offer was not on their website tho. I went in and asked about the advertisement and the salesman Jerry (Jatinder) said yea it was available and showed me a nice civic. We went into the office and then he says that deal is not available but he would talk to his manager. He gets all my info and I clearly tell him that I dont want my credit run unless they can honor that deal. He reassures me that he wont and he will talk to his manager. I show his manager the advertisement. The manager comes back with his boss and they tell me they cant do the deal. They offer me a deal of $269/month...I tell them no and I leave. Next day I see that they has run my credit! To make matters worse, stockton honda had the same vehicle for $199/month and $1995 due at signing! Lost out on that deal cuz I wasted 3 hrs at mel rapton Honda. Both advertisements ended on 10/31/19. The day I went in. Look up deals at stockton Honda before u go to mel rapton and waste ur time and hurt your credit. I will be reporting them to the BBB and the Occupational Licensing Division of the DMV. Super annoyed...I work hard to keep my credit score above 800 only to have them hurt it for no reason.
We had our car service there. Price quote inaccurate, return calls or follow up never happen had tp call back. We made an appointment and dropped off the day before and wasnt able to get car until the next day. They say they got busy, so I believe appointment didnt make a big difference.
Needed a big 100k service on my CRV plus new break pads. Service reps Paul and Chris were wonderful. They gave me a detailed explanation of what needed to be done. The price was the lowest around. Paul gave me a free rental car to use during the service, and Chris reduced the price with an available coupon. Great price, experience, and great people all around at MRH.
My father bought a 2014 Honda accord, the salesman was real nice(Dhillon), But the rest was just ugh. The financial manager sells my father Zurich service which she claimed had no charges up front, just $12-15 extra on monthly payment, and security system which was about $500 but she said there is no charges. when my father arrived home with all the paper work and i went over it. There was $1824+$495 extra for the service up front. We went back to cancel the service next day, then the financial manager tried to make it seem like my father fault. well she made us fill out cancellation form. I asked her right there and than if it was for both car security system and the Zurich service she replied saying yes. well it took them about 3 month to return the money back that too after so many phone calls. I called my bank to make sure i received full money back, and i was told that i only got $1824, I went back in to speak to them again. They made us wait for like 30 mins just to tell us that the lady who sold us the service is not there so they cant help. we was told that she will give us call back tomorrow so left our phone number and note on her desk. Even to this day never got a call or anything from these people. Worst experience ever!!!!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone at all. If possible i would give it a negative 5 stars to this place. All i want is my money back thats it. No one have time to go back and forth everyday, Wont even reply back to voicemail.
My name is Lisa I bought a used Honda Pilot from Clamenta and Eric they were very good salesmen. I love my Honda Pilot very pleased with it. Unfortunately it broke down 2 weeks later. The altanater went out. I was really upset. Cause I only had it for 2 weeks and then this happens! I took back to Mel Rapton Honda of Fulton Ave. They said they Will pay for the part and the work on it. I had to pay 100 dollars. Didnt feel right since it was only 2 weeks. So we asked Larry if he could dismiss the 100 dollars. He thought about and said its the right thing to do! Thank you Larry I am a very satisfied customer! Lisa😁
Bought a used car, signed the contract; a few days later they called me and said that they couldnt lock in the APR that I had agreed to purchase the vehicle at; wanted me to go in and sign a new contract with a higher APR; I refused; they called back and then offered to keep my payments the same but increase the total value of the car (why would anyone want to pay more for a car than they have to???); I refused; they then left me alone...shady business practice...I feel bad for those who didnt know any better and went along with their adjustmentsThe car was also supposedly detailed but it had disgusting dirt and drink stains and smelled like vomit...they also gave us a bent out of shape license plate...and refused to top off the gas even though it was almost on empty.I got it, its a business and profit is key, but going about it dishonestly is bad practice

After many years of buying vehicles and having them serviced at your location, I will never set foot on your property again!You charged me for tire rotation and returned my vehicle to me with low tire pressure light on and and under-inflated tire that isnt holding air!So, you charged me for a service that you didnt perform!
I purchased a used Honda and discovered it was originally purchased from Mel Rapton. I contacted Katina to try to find out any maintenance history on the vehicle as well as the radio code because the previous owner kept the manual. She quickly provided the information that she had and is sending me an owners manual! I appreciate Katina and her service staff going above & beyond - especially since I am not a direct customer. If you live in Sacramento, you need to go by Mel Rapton Honda for your next vehicle and/or service!!!
Service department was outstanding. Took my CR-Z there because my engine was making a terrible sounding metal grinding noise. Found out I needed a new transmission (of course). Rather than spending a boat load of money on a brand new one from the dealer, I opted to get a used one from a pick-n-pull auto parts place in Rancho (shout out to H&M) and had Mel Rapton change it out for my old one, which saved me a LOT of money. Car sounds better than ever now. Bill kept me in the loop every step of the way and the service manager Larry even went out of HIS way to lend me a rental car while mine was being service because my engine sounded so bad he preferred I drive a rental to go pick up the new tranny rather than taking mine. 5 stars all the way for service and for the results of the car. Emailed them about the 2018 Honda Accord Sport and was told their internet price. Their price was way above market value and what other dealers were selling the car for so I showed them the prices on cargurus. Later, I was replied that However, that is not a valid price quote. Until you email them and ask them for their current price, this is a speculative number. Unfortunately, we do not have any current incentives on the Accord Sport, so the price I sent you is currently our most competitive. I proceeded to get a quote that reflected the exact cargurus number. The dealer then proceeded to keep asking me multiple questions about their fees and add ons, trying to deliberately drag on the conversation. I later emailed another dealer and was able to get a quote even much cheaper than the cargurus one for the same model.For one, I presented so much evidence that other dealers were selling this model for much cheaper. So if you arent going to lower your price just straight up say it and stop wasting my time. For two, your attitude was suspicious towards me and gave me a negative feeling the entire way. I dont know how many cars you sell but whoever is reading this just know that you can get much better brand new honda quotes at other dealerships.
Ok lets just say, in my opinion, the sales people dont want to admit reality about their cars. They know the GVW of the Pilot and they know the vehicle doesnt meet the weight requirements for the 179 deduction. However, they wont tell you that. They keep avoiding the questions. We would have been in a bad spot if we did not leave and go home to research the info our selves. Be careful. In my opinion, they lack ethics. In my opinion you should know what you are looking for prior to visiting this location. These people can steer you into a bad purchase.
In all my 10 years of experience with being serviced at Honda/ Acura, never have I had oil stains left behind. Especially on cloth! The service was otherwise good as Id expect. The picture (black spots) i was hoping it was just water at first from the wash, but unfortunately not. The other spots (slobber from my dog) should come out with a shampoo but concerned the oil will not.
Tried to get an oil change today and 1st off didn’t know they didn’t have service open today for oil changes that is not clear any where so I wasted my time driving over there. 2nd they have police flags up on their building which I find to be extremely insensitive considering the times we are in. Worst customer experience of my life so far.:((((((( If you want to have one week of disappointment and be treated bad then go there, I would never come here for buying a new car, or let a friend to deal with these un professional people. Zero management.I received a quote from Mel Rapton for a Honda Accord Lx 2016. We ( me, my wife and my kid) went there on 5/21/2016 to buy a car. After a lot of Hassle almost 6 hours we agreed to buy a car. The car was not there they told me that it will be here in 24 hours(We choosed a color which they didnt had it in Stock). I signed the contract and went home. After 24 hours they email me that your car will be here in 48 hours and they will detail it and will let me know when it is done. So after 43 hours on 5/23 they called and emailed me that car is ready. When I get there my car was not ready (windows were not tinned and security system was not installed as promised). When I asked why, their manager apologized and said that he will get it ready by tomorrow 5/24. I said that I am not available to pick up the car on that day so I made appointment to get my car on 5/25. When I get their on 5/25, my car was not clean and they only had one key ( No owners manual, no duplicate keys and no company packet), they said one of their sales man put the packet somewhere and they promised to deliver it to my home by 5/26. I waited until noon of 5/26, nobody contacted me. I emailed, no answer. I called and they promised to get back to me. After three hours they emailed me as below:Behroz I have been looking everywhere for your books and keys and have had no luck. We will keep looking today and if they dont turn up we will cut you new keys and get you a set of books for the LX Accord.After this email they did not contact me, so I followed up and on 5/29, instead of providing me the service they said it is a very busy holiday weekend and will get in touch with me next week.Here next week comes and no body contacted me, I called them and they accepted to cut new keys.Finally today 5/31 I wasted my three hours to go there and get the keys, although they didnt give be the bar code which comes with the keys and did not give me any bounce for not giving me the bar code, so I had write that manually in a piece of paper for my record.
Years ago, my wife and I both drove Hondas, we would always bring them to Mel Rapton for service. The dealerships service was always first class. Since then we both moved up to higher end cars like Mercedes and BMW. Well last week I bought a used Honda to commute with and had the pleasure today of taking it in to have it serviced at Mel Rapton. After all these years the service people still remembered my name and who I was, the service they did on my car was done on time and on budget, and they even washed the car. I must say this dealer makes BMW look like a joke. I think my next new car might be another Honda.
I figured its time for a new car and decided on a Honda. Went in and wanted the car for a certain price out the door during negotiations. Well, they said they couldnt go that low so I thanked them for their time and left. Got a call from a manager a few days later asking me to come in. I said Im pretty firm on my offer so dont waste my time or yours and ask me to come in for nothing. Manager said, It wont be a waste of time. So Im thinking maybe theyll entertain my offer or something close to it. Brought my husband in with me only to see the same numbers from the same salesman. He then said hell get his manager and will be back. 15 mins go by. Manager comes in with the same numbers. Im already really angry at this point, but he says hell go tell his manager. Another 15 mins goes by. So now the big man comes in. I tell him the situation and that Im really upset for my time being wasted. He starts blaming me that its my fault and theyre all there doing OT because of me. Its not my fault when theyre telling me to wait because they think they could get the sale to make some money. I shouldve just left when the salesman came back with the same numbers the first time. Normally, I wouldnt bother writing a review but this is ridiculous. Will never go back there and will tell everyone I know.
9/22/2018: 8:14am . I don’t recommend using the shuttle bus if u need to change ur oil or leave your car there for hours. There was 3 of us, he took the other 2 Home and I asked him if I can go change real quick, he hesitated first then ok, then on our route he keeps asking me the same damn question. So I told him to just take me home. Didn’t even take me home. He a old guy retired and decided to go back to work. I don’t think I’m coming back to use their express service. I’ll go somewhere else. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll still go to there dealership for buying a car. I think it was because I was Asian. The other 2 that get to go home was white and Arabic.
ALMOST BOUGHT THE CAR, ALMOST. What stopped us from buying was the ridiculous charge of the Zurich ONE YEAR Paint Protection cost of $198. Really, on a brand new car. This is an option applied by the dealer, not by Honda. You have no choice but to get charged the paint protection fee. What pissed us off the most is the fact that we both agreed on the price for the car and everything that is already included with it. Until they showed us the price break down, I noticed $198 and I asked. He said they put it on all their vehicles. I told him, we discuss and agreed on the price already, why are you adding aftermarket cost to it, thats like charging me for floor mats, mud flaps. That stuff was already on the car, I shouldnt have to pay anything extra. He said he had to charge for it, SO I WALKED OUT.IF YOU DONT WANT TO GET SCAMMED FOR PAINT PROTECTION, DONT GO TO MEL RAPTON HONDA. IF YOU DO, CHECK YOUR PRICE BREAK DOWN OF ALL COST AND FEES.
Last Feb. 2012 I purchased a car from here, I still do not have my CA plates. Spoke with the woman in charge of that dept. and she said she would take care of it. Well here we are about five phone calls to the same person and a year later still no plates. I have purchased two cars from Mel Rapton, one new one used, I will never set foot on that lot again.
I recently purchased a Honda Pilot from them and part of the deal was that they would install a roof rack for free. This was my second Pilot and the rack was critical to the deal since I have a roof box that use frequently. A month later I brought the Pilot in to have the rack installed. To my dismay, Rapton Honda would not give me the rack it had promised. Instead it would only agree to install rails; not the cross bars. The cross bars (which were essential to me) cost another $250. I think this is a scam they pull often. We told our salesmen that we needed a rack just like the car we were turning in. Instead they are only giving us 1/2 a rack that is completely useless to me. I will never buy a car from these guys again.
I would say most of the deal ships are the same, what makes the difference is the sales representative. There was some confusion in my process until I met Farhad Atai there, he is extremely knowledgeable with vehicles, loan & leasing process and all other needed information.If not because of Farhad, I wouldn’t be able to buy any car as I was losing my patience for waiting so long going there 2 times & still a lot of confusion.It’s important to meet with the right person in order to get what you want, and Farhad Atai was the only one who could figure out my need.Thank you Farhad for all the help & patience.
I went to Mel rapton Honda about a week ago with my Wife, the lease was up and Barabra Nelson came out. It seem like a inconvenience to help us buy out the lease, only because it was a Saturday. She said we had to come back later. She finally passed us to someone who took all of our info them said he would give us a call back to see what they can do. Until now we havent received a call.Ohhh.... and at Folsom lake Honda it worked out amazing with Tom and his team (Jacob and Zach) helped us out and took the time that we ended buying two cars.
Had a great time hashing out what I think was a pretty reasonable deal with these folks. Ask for Stefanie Orozco from sales - she is the most relaxed, fun, salesperson there and doesnt have any tacky fake salesperson vibes (Sorry Roger, you dont get points on that one!). She made me feel very comfortable, well informed, and did not rush me a bit as I test drove quite a few vehicles. A+ for Stefanie. B+ for the deal!
Worst service high prices they do more damage to the car by not doing their job properly.I should say that this place is a football ground they shot customer to each other. no one knows what is their responsibility after my car was done with the service I still couldn’t get my car for 30 minutes when I asked cashier she referred me to express service and they did the same. What a customer service
For a good long while Ive always had the sense that dealers are out there to get you. Maybe so (see other reviews), but Mel Rapton has worked for me, starting from, say, 2001. Since then, I do get my newer Hondas (NOT saying you should buy one there) serviced there. Its not cheap, but their work, well, it works. __heartfulSoul
Save some time and come to Mel Rapton First! I wasted a bunch of time going to other dealerships that were dishonest and didnt honor their prices (Autonation Roseville). I worked with Peter Lewis it was a very quick and easy process. He listened to what I wanted and beat other dealership prices and had the vehicle in stock.We got a beautiful Accord EXL V6. I would definitely buy my next Honda from Mel Rapton!
I have been going to Mel Rapton for 20 years with much satisfaction. Lately its service has deteriorated, however. One rep at the oil change section would virtually brush aside any other question I had, showing no interest at all. Another day I would drop my car for an early morning appointment and yet they purposely did not even get to the car until 5 hours later and finished the work 20 minutes to closing.
Lairs Lairs Lairs, never ever, the worst customer service. I picked Honda Pilot Touring (full loaded) I was agree with the monthly payment. In the end they wanted to give me EX-L instead Touring for the same price and told me that they don’t have option to give me the Touring because bla-bla-bla (no reasonable answer). What happened, they just caught another customer that was agree to pay more than me. F... me up! NEVER COME TO THIS DEALERSHIP. LAIRS
Mel Rapton is the place to go if your looking for a new or used vehicle. I came in with a low budget and not much wiggle room. I walked away with a solid used Honda Fit and couldn’t be happier with the process. Huge thank you to Nikolas Shuman, extremely friendly, professional, genuine and honest. If your looking for a car, that is your guy.
Even though I wasnt there to buy a new car that day the salesman Preet was very respectable and not pushy at all and he showed me all the cars special features before we went on a test drive. I will be going back to purchase a brand new Honda Accord Touring because of Preets awesomely excellent customer service
I called Mel Rapton Honda and spoke to Kevin in the Service Department. They provided a free inspection of my vehicle when I suspected that a previous auto body shop had incorrectly installed my catalytic converter. Kevin was also kind enough to have the Honda mechanic write a detailed report explaining how the part was installed incorrectly.
I only come to Mel Rapton, even for little things like getting air in my tires 😂 They go above and beyond, especially Mike in the service department he’s awesome gets everything done effectively and takes the time to explain what’s going on with my car! Very appreciative of everyone there.
My wife went here to have her car repaired, the staff were professional, quick, and repaired only what was necessary. Instead of my wife paying for a part which she thought she needed, they only charged for the clips which were significantly less expensive than the part.

I went in for a oil change and the first thing the guy tells mee is oh it looks like you are due for a A1 service i had never been there before so i asked what does that mean and he said oil change plus tire rotation I just had the tires rotated the last service by someone else and after i told him that he said oh ok then he tells me that my 07 CRV needs the full synthetic oil, I have never put synthetic oil in that crv before and he was alil upset that i didnt want to do that but then he gave in. Ok so here comes the part that made me upset, while waiting for over a hour to get my car back (the hour wait was understandable) i heard this guy give the SAME speech to literally EVERYONE that came in oh by the way it looks like you are due for the A1 service even to people that said it was their first time there. How the heck would he even know what they are due for!?! Well anyway i gave them 2 stars because they did the job but man i dont like to see people get taken advantage of so be careful.

I was never been as disappointed in customer service in my life as yesterday by someone in a position who is in charge {by the owner} Ill follow up with detail later. I just want to express my dissatisfaction asap when I was prompted by goggle now to rate this facility.
Omg!! There was this fat old guy, white, bolding, wears glasses, was very unprofessional! I came in with a set mind getting a vehicle that I have spoken with to some other seller but this rude man came up and told my salesman to take these cheap fokes to the 12,000 dollar car lot and told him out loud in front of other customer the i have really bad credit! These folks rip you off. Theyll lie to your face about what price point theyre willing to off you, pretend that their computers are causing issues, and theyll stall to make you feel invested. They are scummy. Mel Raptons daughter now runs they place and she has no idea how to make her customers happy. Stay way if at all possible.

Came here yesterday at 11am for an oil change Nick Salazar assisted me in getting the service order process he had quoted me a time frame of 2hrs when the car would be ready he also asked me if was gonna stay on-site I said yes I waited patiently in the lobby 2.5 hours past and my car wasnt done I went the to one of the staff members to help and they came back saying my car needs another 2hrs and I was never notified at this point nick was no where to be found and ended up leaving without any service 😢 I tried calling there support via phone only to find myself taking to a voice-mail service...while I was there none of staff had gloves nor sanitiz there before assisting each vehicle which i do have on video this place is a just absolutely terrible
The finance manager was extremely rude and accused us of being illegal here, i went there to pay what i had to pay and had all the required papers that he asked for but he still refused to take a look and acted like he knew everything already, he had an attitude from the beginning and it kept getting worse and worse, and we are very loyal customers, i’ve been buying cars from this location for years and now i will never come back!
Nonprofessional workers and bad service I’ve ever had!!!I’ve had oil change over here and after the service i went to a long drive on the highway underneath of my car was scratching the street when I checked out they forgot the screws for the underneath engine cover !
I am very unsatisfied with the service received on our 2008 honda Civic hybrid the technician that worked on our car stripped the oil pan plug and did nothing about it they where the only ones to do any work on our car since we bought it and when this was brought to there attention they took the side of the technition over the costumer.
I had my timing belt changed for my 2007 Odyssey in here, I have learnt a lot trick about this, and summarize here.First of all, I did search on ebay about the timing belt kit, and found the following things cost only ~320$ and they shall be changed together with timing belt:Timing Belt(Honda / 14400-RCA-A01);Water Pump & Gasket(Honda / 19200-RDV-J01);Serpentine Drive Belt(Honda / 38920-RCA-A03);Idler Roller / Pulley(Koyo OE / 14550-RCA-A01);Tensioner Roller / Pulley(Koyo OE / 14510-RCA-A01);Hydraulic Tensioner(Honda / 14520-RCA-A01);Front Camshaft Seals x 2(Honda / 91213-R70-A02);Front Crankshaft Seal(Honda / 91212-R70-A02).Service advisor (Anthony) offers ~800$ for replacing only the first 3 items, I asked to replace all the seals (the last two items in above list) as well, since they could be wear out, and the advisor asked for 25$ more. With some negotiation, they give me a 50$ rebate and a rental car free of use. They only have one of the Tensioner in the inventory, that costs another 145$ by itself, the advisor suggest to check if it is not leaking, then no replace. It ended up not leaking. Overall, it is a good service, and Anthony is a very nice guy.Compare to Folsom lake Honda, they offers 1299$ without water pump(I guess they will change all the tensioner and pulleys), but extra 299$ for the water pump. There are so many tricks and each dealer is playing them very differently. The more you research and compare the more you save.

2022-06-25Super clean 2011 Lexus LS460. Drives like new. What I loved most about my experience here was the team effort everyone displayed. It was a super smooth transaction, a very welcoming environment by Devin, Junior and Gio. I’ve never had such a great experience and pleasure of doing business anywhere. I highly recommend this place if you’re in the market for a new or used. In my case it was used but if I ever have the itch for something new, I’d definitely come here and drive 4.5 hours one way just to have that great customer experience that made me feel like a human and not just $$$ over my head.

2022-06-28By far the best car buying experience I have ever had! Our old Odyssey was a totaled and the inventory currently is extremely minimal. I searched for days to find any model and finally found this dealership. Mung Nguyen helped me and I was extremely satisfied with the overall experience from start to finish. I was treated with respect and not haggled back and forth on the price. We came in at 6:00pm and we had driven away at 8:15pm! I will always mention the Mung and the staff here at the dealership for anyone who wants a car. Very professional and they did not treat me as just another desperate customer trying to buy a car in this extreme market. I spoke to several other Honda Dealerships and this one was by far the most professional, courteous and accommodating.We are eternally grateful for everything Capital City Honda did for us!

2022-07-15I had an awesome experience working with capital city Honda. I was without a car for a long time, almost 2 months, and every week or so mung would text me and see if I liked a certain car. Eventually we found our car, a 2007 Honda Accord for a great price. One thing they did which stood out to me was refunding me for a feature I did not want. Highly recommend mung and neil they are great.

2022-02-02Recently purchased a brand new car here. I did so much research on the companies and the cars. Everybody dreads the car buying experience, between the haggling prices, and it’s a full day at the dealership. I can say hands down my experience here was great, we were in and out in a couple hours. You’d be in great hands no matter the salesman you get. How ever the one we had went above and beyond any salesman we’ve ever had over the years and many different dealerships, Jon Lewis thank you!

2022-03-02Update: The dealership has reached out to me to correct the issue. They articulated that the issues are related to the new ownership transition and they are working on them and expect to improve to the level of service I am accustomed to. I will give them a shot and continue to go to them for service as long as things improve.15 year customer with Mel Rapton, after one service appointment under the new ownership Im out. There was a mistake with my bill that they admitted to, told me they would fix, and now they wont return phone calls. Both the Service Advisor and the Service Manager. Unbelievable. This would never have happened under the previous owner. Elk Grove Honda is getting a new customer.

My appointment couldnt be found and the reaction of my tech says this has happened before. So I get pushed behind all vehicles with appointments. If my techs reaction is true fix or get rid of the online appointment system. The dealership and my tech were 5 Star.

2022-04-25I’ve leased a Toyota before so my experience with capital city Honda is compared to that.They are very untimely, not truly appreciative of your customer service.I have a new car that they mailed me about a recall of a part of the car so I took it for service as requested. They messed up my fuel tank insertion where I could not re-fuel, they didn’t answer my calls, and it was a Friday - Saturday after which they were closed Sunday.I lost time from work… and now running on empty tank and can’t take the car back and their response is they’d like me to pay to tow the car for a mistake they made.Very inconsiderate, wish I stayed with Toyota.
