Campbell Inn in Campbell CA Warning do not stay there its filthy and the management has total disregard for customer concerns)The room was nothing like the picture and video posted on the Campbell Inn website. The entire episode was disappointing and an example of the types of businesses out there just to rip people off. Keep in mind the pictures can not convey the smell of the room.
Hotel rooms have a very strong chemical smell. Smelled like stale smoke. My boyfriend and I attempted to stay one evening and being in room for 5 mins flared up my asthma. Hotel refuses to refund cost. We never even sat on bed. We were only on property for 15 minutes. This hotel is run down and could care less about your health. Unfortunate as it is in the heart of Campbell. Such a disappointment. Will never stay or ever recommend to anyone. Waste of money.
I loved this place 20 years ago, mostly because of the jacuzzi tubs in some of the rooms, but I stayed here the other day and it doesn’t look like they’ve updated anything since the last time I was there! Very outdated, plus the bedding and especially the pillows were NOT comfy and the refrigerator didn’t work. You can definitely find better for the price.
Nothing outstanding about this place,, it took three phone calls to get an extra pillow and a blanket. Its nice if you like sitting close to the floor in the bathroom.. When you charge the same price at least offer wrapped danish or cookies or wrapped fruit. Catherine Chargin
Yes, you guys did reach out to me after I had placed a bad review. No my cell phone did not have a full or non working voicemail. I have several voice mails everyday and no one has an issue with my voicemail. Maybe you dialed the wrong number. As for the fact that I was offered a room to move to or to have someone come by. I said it was to late to move rooms and I did ask for someone to come by. No one did come by. This issue could have been a minimum issue , if I had received a call. There is no missed calls or voicemails left or any other type of message until after I posted the review and then a few hours later magically I get a call.Your hotel has been good many times before. That is a fact. But this one time was not a good experience.
Friendly staff and a nice atmosphere on the hotel grounds. Its a little close to the freeway, but if you get one of the further down rooms, ours was 118, you dont hear it at night much at all. They had a pool that I didnt use, but looked nice enough. The bed was comfortable and the room was pretty clean. No safe in the room for personal items when youre away from the room. It was a great place to stay while on our business trip.
This is a 5 star hotel. The positive reviews are all correct. Everyone from the top down is unusually kind especially the cleaning staff. The breakfast food is the very best I have ever had. There is so much subtle attention to detail about this hotel. The towels are actually soft, the salt, pepper and all the spices in the breakfast area are all organic. There are multiple types of coffee, creamers, tea and fresh juices. Real eggs and real bacon. Ive stayed at places almost doubled the price that were half as good as this. The location is right next to Pruneyard for dining and movies. The parking lot is spacious and it backs up to a very nice bike and running trail.
A very nice older motel. Kept up and clean. Love the hot tub. The free hot breakfast was delicious and a large selection. A large room to eat in. It didnt appear to be an after thought. It wasnt shoved in a corner. No tripping over other guests. Much more than cereal and waffles. Eggs and meat selection. Fresh fruit.very well done.
I stayed here for work and was very pleased with the overall experience. The guest services were friendly and helpful, and the cleaning service was polite. The continental is better than most and offers enough options unless you are vegan. The pool was surprisingly heated and the wifi was good enough for business purposes. For a older building and furnishings it is still cozy and clean.
The freeway is only feet away from the hotel and that’s all you hear all night is loud traffic. The rooms are caked in thick dust on the floorboards, wood night stands, desks and lamps. The workmanship of repairs is gross...in my room, there was undoubtedly a ceiling leak at some point and I think my 2 year old could have done a better patch job. The wallpaper is peeling and just left to hang there. It’s extremely low budget and honestly the surrounding area is a bit scary. The front staff and the spa were very nice, but those were the only positives. I won’t be back.
The guy in the front desk didnt give me a room at 5 am when i am tired and just came back to California... because THE COMPUTER IS FROZEN AND HE DOESNT HAVE A PASSWORD FOR IT SO CANT RESTART IT AND CANT MANUALLY CHECK ME IN ... so i had to go look for another hotel who understands what hotels looks like....and price was like hilton and i bet its not even 1 star.
Very quaint, modern hotel with a bnb feel. Great pool, and working ice machines. Always judge a place by the ice machines, and coffee. If its bad, its a sign. 👍 They are usually booked solid, and its not cheap, but in sillycone valley its quite a reasonable inn. I recommend it highly ! And I look forward to giving good reviews, I dislike having to downvote a business, but money is getting tight, were all in this together, so yall deserve at least some integrity in ratings. Make it a great day !
DISGUSTING. The room was terrible. It was stuffy and the ac turned on by itself all night causing me and my 8 year old cousin to have allergies all morning. There where raccoons and while we where walking to our hotel room one had came up to us and hissed at us. Me and my family saw many roaches and bugs all over the place. We went to complain to the front desk and he said there was a whole village of raccoons in the near by bushes. It was HORRIBLE. I will never stay here with my family ever again. The rooms smelled bad and where stuffy. There where raccoons walking around like they owned the place and there where roaches. $218 WASTED!
Lobby stinks. Room stinks. Carpet is disgustingly dirty. Everything is old and rusty. No shower curtain in the shower. None of the premium channels on TV. They say for gym use Right stuff health club just down the road. Here Down the road is 2.4 miles away. I am so surprised with the good reviews. People who have given good reviews either are their own people of have never been to a decent hotel.Never ever coming back! EVER!!
The bed was comfortable. I almost over slept, make sure you set an alarm lol. The morning staff (the guy specifically wasnt very nice) but the evening staff was awesome. The breakfast was delicious and the room came with a microwave and refrigerator. I would stay here again.
The place is fine as long as you dont have any needs or complaints. My shower had no shower curtain. I didnt realize it until I was on my way out. Called to let them know, wasnt even looking for a discount. Instead of an apology I was interrupted and talked to like a little kid. The owner will respond to this review with a half hearted thanks for your feedback. In actuality he yells at you for giving feed back.
Their free, hot breakfast buffet and great room prices makes it all worth it. Campbell Inn isnt modern, but the grounds are well kept. There were minor cleanliness issues, very minor. Overall a pretty good room. If its going to rain, I recommend staying on the 2nd floor to avoid the sound of the roof rain falling into the puddles around the (beautiful) rose bushes.
NOT RECOMMENDED! The decor is very outdated. The carpets are filthy, we didnt dare walk on the carpet without shoes on..The bathroom, vanity area, and room closet had black mold all over the place. It was so bad in the closet that the smell made me cough. When I called down to the front desk to ask for towels, the guy said he only had some slightly smaller then the large ones available. . So I asked for 3 of those and 3 wash clothes. I got 3 bath mats and 3 hand towels! All the chairs in the room looked like the were there since the 60s. I definitely wont be staying here again.
We were very happy with our stay in the Executive suite with balcony. Even though the road noise was loud from the lobby, it was not perceptable in the room (222). The room had a very comfortable bed, fireplace, large TV easily visible from the bed. There was a loveseat, desk, pool. A microwave and fridge are in each room. I would have given 5 stars but the clock and one lamp was inoperable. Restaurants are easy to drive or walk to as well. The Ol Hickory is about 0.2 miles east toward The Pruneyard shopping center.
The inn is fairly nice, providing everything I would expect from a basic motel. Additionally, the price was amazing compared to similar lodging in the area. If Id certainly not the four seasons, but everything got need is provided and the grounds remain pretty quiet usually. My only to complains would be that I couldnt play my PlayStation 4 Pro, as the TV and locked down somehow, and there were not quite enough accessible power outlets in the room. They serve a fabulous pool side breakfast in the morning. I dont care much about the pool side factor, but the food is great. All in all, Id recommend this place for anyone on a budget. 10/10 would stay again.
The staff in the night was pretty good helping us with some reservation problems. However our room was rather old furniture the room smelled unbearably of perfume. My wife and I woke up with headaches from the smell and couldnt be out of the room fast enough. The bed was on the hard side but not too bad. There was a fair amount of road noise. And finally the water temperature was not working. I brushed my teeth in warm water. Choices were hot or warm, maybe 100 to 110 degrees. Then the shower started warm and suddenly went cold... We will never be coming back.
By far my favorite hotel to stay in when Im in San Jose. Centrally located, with friendly staff. Has a vending machine and a pool, as well as breakfast in the morning and free cookies all day. Theres also plenty of free parking. The rooms are typical for a motel and very clean. Campbell is a really safe town, and I always feel comfortable at this hotel.
I have stayed at the Campbell Inn on two separate occassions. The rooms are spacious and have refrigerator and microwave. In room coffee makes the rush to the complimentary breakfast not necessary. The breakfast is absolutely scrumptious! Lots of breakfast meat, scrambled eggs and fresh fruit. The potatoes are spicy and my personal favorite. Coffee is robust and plentiful!!! Everything you want for a reasonable price. Centrally located making it an easy to navigate location.
Definitely a two-star place. Lacking in amenities like power outlets, smart TV... but what really gets my goat is JACKING THE PRICE ON FIRE EVACUEES. Here theyre full of displaced mountain residents and theyve upped the rates. Thats some kinda wonky. We were gonna stay a week but were one and DONE.
Campbell Inn is showing its age; but for the price its a good find. The rooms overall were clean; although the carpets should have been changed a decade ago. The rooms were comfortable and conveniently located to a lot of Campbell/San Jose activities. We were towing a trailer and they were good about us keeping it in a parking space for the few days we were staying. They have a reasonable continental breakfast, nothing too fancy, but tasted good and everything was clean. They also provide free wifi.Again, for everything they provide you, the location, friendly staff, and the incredible low price of $120, we would recommend this place and Id stay there again.
1st off both of my lamps were broken in my room with no outlet to charge my phone near the bed. 2nd if you have a family you would know that just 1 tiny trash can is not enough. There should be one in the bathroom and living area. 3rd the door I had wouldnt latch all the way and you can see the lights from outside because the door was not aligned. The picture below shows the exposed hot wire from my lamp. The rooms were very dated and need to be updated with simple fixes. Oh and I suppose if you want to get a contact high just walk up and down the walkways between the rooms. The 1 good thing about this place is the breakfast was very good.
Nice rooms, and not too expensive. Breakfast offered a good selection, and was better than I expected (its decent!).Location-wise, its within walking distance to downtown Campbell and The Pruneyard shopping center, so lots of great dining options are available (Rock Bottom Brewery and Kyoto Palace are two great places). Theres also a nice jogging / biking trail right along the creek in the back.Im local, and I stay here from time to time. Its certainly a good choice for anyone visiting the area too.
We had a late check-in time. We were given a key and we were heading to our room when they came out frantically telling us to stop. They had given us a room where someone was already checked into. So they gave us an upgrade. The room was big, but dingy. Walked into the bathroom where the toilet was not flushed, there was a band-aide stuck to the shower wall and there was toothpaste on the already dirty counter. The sheets were horribly stained (at least that is what we tried to tell ourselves) and there were no controls for the temperature in the room. Sad, but true. Our local motel has diminished in quality. We will never stay there again!
Large rooms, seem to be recently renovated. Well appointed. TVs could be updated, and wi-fi could be faster, but both are tolerable. Breakfast buffet is best Ive had in a 3 or 4 star place in years. Staff exceptionally friendly and super-accommodating.Good value. I choose this over local Marriott, and boutique Pruneyard hotels that Ive stayed in as well for best price, friendly staff, and way better breakfast. Not quite as fancy-shmancy on the outside, but lovely, comfortable rooms.
Room next to us partied till 3:00am. When the from desk was made aware of it...again, the next morning at check-out, we were told Its Saturday night. People like to party. There was no apology. I understand that they always control what people initially do, but there was no effort to rectify the situation during the night. We had no sleep. Not only will I NOT be going back, theyve earned themselves a poor review. Great job guys for no sleep, and a healthy dose of apathy. If I could give it zero stars, I would.
I needed a suit done over night for a funeral. The young guy that was working when I went in knew what could be done and what couldnt be done. Mine was no problem and promised me it would be back on time for my a.m. pickup. It was and I was very happy with both the service and the final product. Hand made Italian suits need special handling. Mine was perfect. Thanks Guys.
For the price that we paid it was pretty dirty. Carpets were more than worn. Horribly dirty and even the seams were ripping apart. Its right next to the freeway but we didnt hear it at all. Bathroom was clean which is cool. It just amazes me that the carpets are not kept clean and maintained.
The rooms have clearly not been renovated in a very long time. I cant help but say the room felt a little dirty. Not sure if it was just in my head but the state of the room made me feel itchy. I guess the hotel is also a T-Mobile dead zone. They do offer complimentary WiFi but the first night it was useless. I couldnt connect and called the front desk. She said someone from a room upstairs also had a similar complaint and then hung up? The wifi was working the second night. They have cable TV but it is not HD, I dont mind but Id prefer to see it in 4:3 instead of some weird fish eye mode. All and all I wouldnt stay here again...
Nice hotel and great location. They had free bicycles to use. The Campbell Park path went right past the hotel. This path goes all the way to Lexington Reservoir.. which is a fun ride. The location was key for the stay...easy access to Highway 17 to Santa Cruz and the Pruneyard Shopping Center was a 5 minute walk. Togos Sandwich Shop was also 5 minutes away (best subway sandwiches). Free hot breakfast was always tasty. RATING IS 4 STARS. Primary because of age of hotel (1980s) with minimal renovations.
Of 4 hotels during a week-long visit to California, this was by far the nicest. Very quiet rooms considering the Inn is adjacent to Highway 17 - obviously well insulated. Comfortable rooms as well. Within easy walking distance of the Pruneyard and old downtown Campbell, and the Los Gatos Creek trail is easily accessible from the parking lot. A good breakfast too.
Ive been coming to Campbell Inn for years and Ive always had good experiences. It has a pool and a jacuzzi so I prefer it over the other nearby hotel. Its relatively cheap and low-key, but everything is decent enough and the handicap rooms bathrooms have nice showers. I dont like the beds as much but Im spoiled at home with a tempur pedic! Theres a nearby park and trail that you can walk around. You can also walk to downtown really easily for Sundays farmers market. It has a good location near the VTA too! Overall I have no complaints other than the bed! I definitely stay here or have family stay here whenever were in the area.
I always book a room here for my mom when she comes into town. Nice rooms, friendly staff and a location that you cant beat. Located right between the Pruneyard and downtown Campbell, there is so much to see and so all within walking distance. The Los Gatos Creek trail is also right outside your door!
I see this place all the time since I actually live in Campbel. My sister in-law wanted to come to town for her birthday and not worry about driving home so we reserved a room for her, or so we thought. Over the phone the lady took a reservation for a specific room that we wanted and since it was her birthday the lady agreed the suite was best. The lady on the phone guaranteed it would be ready for us today. At check in someone other than the lady who took the reservation looked blankly at us and said Oh the lady that had the room last night decided to stay another night so we dont have it available Rather than explain the room was already booked and move her to a different room she offered a $20 discount on a smaller room.If I could rate less stars I would. Customer service is as exemplary as the greasy stoned teenager at your local McDonalds. First experience will be our last experience. There are many other options in the area. Marriott off of Hamilton, Double Tree in the Pruneyard, Residence Inn on Bascom, Motel F-ing 6, Carlyle Hotel off of Camden. Take your pick they all are generally close and actually want to your business.
Lovely and helpful staff eager to assist you and readily make you feel at ease and taken care of. Grounds are well kept and located right next to the Los Gatos Creek Trail. Lovely for walking, biking, running or just exploring complete with wildlife if your lucky to see it. Personally I have seen large fish, possums, fox, squirrel, various birds, etc.
Handicap rooms do not have ANY Handicap parking anywhere near those rooms and do not even have a sidewalk curb ramp anywhere near those same rooms, which is the most ridiculous situation I have ever seen. There is only one Hotel cart so unless you are very lucky to get that cart you will unload your car totally by hand and for handicap Senior’s there is a lot of stuff to unload. The room curtains were torn and partially no longer hanging and the rods to open and close them were gone. The furnishings were not only old but the some pieces were missing the wood veneer, so you were looking at particle board. The TV had lost over 50% of its color.
I was a patron of the Campbell Inn for years until quite recently when I had my VERY LAST (out of an increasing number of times) very bad experience there. The staff had always been very friendly, warm, well-chosen individuals for positions in which an interpersonal flair is golden - until the last year or so, around which time the place became quite unpleasant to stay at. This was initially due to the lack of action taken by staff in regard to obnoxious guests making obscene amounts of noise, but hey - were only human and I figured that it was a fluke experience that would likely not happen twice. It happened many more times than two, for the record. But the final straw was when, upon a faultily repaired bathtub sealing job failed to function properly on the second floor suite where I was staying and leaked into the room beneath me (this was, of course - unknown to me while it was happening), and then the management proceeded to repeatedly imply that I would be responsible for any damage that had been done to the room and/or its occupants belongings. I was absolutely disgusted by her ignorant, yet oh-so-pompous phone call from off-site somewhere, and said so.I promptly packed up my things, told the BOY at the front desk not to charge me because I was leaving (although of course, I was charged anyway despite this statement), and commenced to leaving the premises all too quietly if you ask me.IF YOU ARE SOMEONE WHO APPRECIATES BEING TREATED RESPECTFULLY AT AN ESTABLISHMENT THAT YOU PAID A GOOD CHUNK OF CHANGE TO STAY IN, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU.
There was blood on my drapes, and the furniture was filthy and worn out. The breakfast was awful, I couldnt tell you what the eggs actually were made of. The room smelled like way too much disinfectant had been used, so I guess there had been a murder in my room. Call CSI!!!Condemn this dump now!!!
Walking distance to downtown Campbell no more than a 10 min walk. Friendly staff. Direct access to the camobell trail, across the street from Campbell park, 5 minute walking distance to the Pruneyard. Bed is comfortable, flat screen, vanity, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Bathroom a tight squeeze. Morning breakfast is good, pool and hot tub is big and relaxing. If your coming from downtown Campbell you have to make a u-turn in the pruneyard to get into the parking lot. Coming from the Pruneyard easy entrance into driveway. Quiet

2022-05-09Good service and decent rooms. I think its more than ready for a refresh though. The chair that was in the room was dumpster worthy. The bed and linens were clean and fresh supplies in the bathroom. The staff was friendly and the location is great for downturn restaurants.

2022-03-16This was a cute hotel that my family stayed at while in town. It is old but in a cute / fun way. The breakfast was great, cool big rooms, lots of parking, and nice workers. The only issues my family ran into was the vending machine stealing money, and a sink lightly leaking.

2022-05-14The Campbell Inn is located just east by a couple blocks of downtown...and the cop shop. Positioned next to the Los Gatos Parcourse Creek Trail, it is a bit of an abrupt turn off Campbell Avenue into the hotel parking lot. As far as hotels go, the standard room at the Campbell Inn is nothing special. Sorta rundown and shabby, even. The pool area is nice, and they used to do a decent breakfast before Covid happened. I would choose to stay elsewhere if it was anywhere other than Building 3 that I had a room in. That is the only building I will stay in, and its for one reason alone: the jetted tubs! The rooms are larger than the typical rooms, with the same quality of decor and beds....some of them are nicer than others in terms of layout, but basically they are the same. It doesnt matter because I spend practically the entire time in the bathroom. The bathtubs make it all worthwhile. All the rooms in Building 3 have jetted tubs...I go there to enjoy the tubs. To me, spending multiple hours relaxing, soaking in a jetted tub is a most enjoyable experience. Of course, I add to it by bringing my own enhancements like cool lighting, good music, bubbles, and my favorite snacks and beverages. A night at the Campbell Inn is priced reasonably and does not require an outrageous deposit like so many other hotels do...I believe the deposit is $50.00 per stay. Generally speaking, I object to paying more than $100 deposit per stay...I avoid hotels that charge a deposit per night versus per stay. The current staff is pleasant-I can only speak on the night shift. Only once did I have a problem with the tub not working, and the guy had no one to come look at it and no other rooms with a tub to move to. He made a call and gave me a couple things to to try. They worked-problem solved. One bit of advice: when visiting the Campbell Inn, know that the local police are very pro-active.

2022-06-265 stars only considering the price. Hotels in this area tend to run significantly more pricey than this place. The less expensive ones appear either dirty or sketchy. This place was clean and seemed safe. I did notice a few small ants in the bathroom, but not an infestation. No other bugs. The downside is that its definitely old and a run down. Old furniture, bathroom roll holder fell off the wall, furniture isnt very comfortable. My room had a microwave / minifridge that worked. Clean and comfortable bed, and instant hot water. The location was walking distance from restaurants in both downtown Campbell and the Pruneridge mall. The parking lot also immediately adjoins the Los Gatos Creek trail for some nice exercise if you were staying here long.Hotel has breakfast, I didnt try it. Checkin was friendly. Parking was free and simple.WiFi worked, but went in and out on speed; I was able to video conference, but it was a tad problematic and the router was literally right outside my door. Also it looked like the network probably allowed local traffic, since I spotted chromecast devices on it. Id use a VPN, its not the most secure setup.

2022-05-12Wife is staying there or was staying there. A guy in his late 20’s early 30’s tried to force his way into her room. He used a tool to pry the door frame open. She called the cops and they caught him. Never staying at this hotel ever again. So grateful for the Campbell PD to show up fast enough to catch the guy. Worst experience.

2022-02-24Positive: Nice location, easy parking. Negative: Non-smoking motel but room smelled of tobacco, from cigarettes or vapes. Staff was polite but not helpful. Did not work with me to provide a good experience

2022-03-18Very nostalgic! We honeymooned here 31 years ago. The room looks the same, haha! It was clean and the bed was comfortable.

2022-06-21Looks nice from the outside but room was dated...looked like 90s fixtures and fittings! girl on the checkin was apathetic to put it politely...not the standard of service we are used to in california.

2022-04-13Used to be a nice place back in the 90s. They really havent done much since then. There out dated website says it all. I believe some of the employees live in the rooms.
