This is a little piece of history within Fremont. Once the site of one of the most important commercial nurseries in California, it still has many unique trees and shrubs. There is an amazing rose garden with a wide variety of colorful blooms. There is also a restored adobe building on site. It is a great place to walk, and youll see an amazing variety of wildlife, including raptor and many bird species. It is open from dawn to dusk and there is free parking.
Thought this was a park, we were misinformed. Turned out to be a public garden where residents can utilize plots of land to grow their own veggies. Not sure what it costs to use the community space, didnt see any signs with info. Great idea. We love living in Fremont, will probably apply for a plot next year!
July 2, 2022 update:The big park is open, unofficially but it is ready for exploration. There are very promising amenities such as new toilet banks, some historic buildings under restoration, park benches and the new Community garden LEAF facility. Plenty parking is coming to this new park and will be lush with greenery soon. It does look like lots of work is still in progress though, but it is a fun space with lots of potential. The rose garden has matured so beautifully that this park next to it needs lot more plants to compete.Great stop for a brunch gathering or a photo shoot for your family occasion.Great asset to the neighborhood for walkers and joggers.12.20.2020 update- the park is fenced off for the next few months for city of Fremont capital improvement project aka a new park coming here soon! Beyond excited but need to wait. Shall post updates when I read more on the city’s website.Quaint, quiet retreat for lots of baby and family photoshoots, picnic and a view of the most gorgeous roses. Seasonal colors in fall add additional beauty to this space. Has benches for a family and friends gathering, maintained by a team of dedicated volunteers looking for more hands.

2022-06-26June 2022: the park is getting a huge renovation. It looks gorgeous already although not all sections are finished. When the roses are in bloom, you will be amazed how many varieties there are. When walking closer to the center, you will see a beautiful cactus section with cute ground squirrels and lots of birds. It is a nice place to get some peace after a long working day. Be aware of mosquitoes close to sunset time.Three years ago I wrote: Interesting place to see some old trees and how this would look like when it was over 500 acres when it was first established

2021-05-23The park is relatively small but it is FREE to visit. The main attraction is the rose garden which has a decent number of rose varieties. You will be impressed that the entire park is all maintained by volunteers. Personally I would recommend you make a stop at park any time you visit the beautiful town of Niles.
