An old time favorite. Where you can have a real Italian food, sitting next to a real movie star...last time I sat next to Tony Curtis when he was in his late 70s, we shared a great conversation and I told him how much i enjoyed his movies, especially with Roger Moore in an old time TV series...he was shocked that I used to watch that as a kids...good times. Good laughs and good food...highly recommended
Amazing atmosphere. Music is great for setting. I was there on a Wednesday and music was changing from Timbiriche, Laura Pausini, Andrea Bocheli, . . . Just great. I had the Greek salad, lamb chops. Meat was cooked perfectly just like I like it, medium rare.Drinks are great too. Started with sangria. Them blood orange mimosa.
Went with a group of four - no reservation and got seated - as requested outdoors - right away. The food was delicious - in their price range (Pizza $22, bill for four $150 for entrees only, no alcoholic beverages) I did not expect to be charged for the bread - and would expect fresh parmesan cheese with the asparagus risotto at $24.However, the did not have the asparagus risotto on the menu, the waiter went out of his way to make her happy - and our friends (the wife of a huge German pop star) and her son really loved the place - and they have seen a lot of places.Food: five starAmbience: 4-5Service: 5Location: 5Would I go again: absolutely.Would I do a 30+ min detour just to go? Maybe. The bread charge put me off a bit. To avoid any misunderstanding: I saw them charging $3 per during their happy hour. As they sell their food for VERY attractive prices at the bar/ lounge for happy hour, I totally understand that the bread is extra, just not in the restaurant at this price point.
The only italian restaurant in the world where they cannot add ingredients in a calzone....sorry, let me correct myself, they can do it on pizzas but not on calzone, in fact the calzone is just a pizza with ingredients put only on half of it and then folded in half. This explains the extreme difficulty in accomodating the very challenging request. Congratulations for creating an issue without explanation! But there is a solition to it...next time I will order a red pizza with mozzarella, ham and ricotta.... then I will ask to fold it in half.
Fantastic environment! Insanely delicious food! The prices are reasonable, especially for the area. Service was spectacular! She helped me Shazam the authentic Italian music being played. Like I said, “fantastic environment“! I think this is my new favorite spot in Los Angeles!!
We came across this place on a Saturday night with no booking for our group of 12 and they accommodated us immediately. The service and food was excellent. They actually forgot my own meal and so had to make it on the fly while my colleagues ate, but they made up for it - credit to the server of our table who was awesome - and the pizza I had was absolutely worth the wait. One of the nicest Ive had and not too filling, like most pizzas. For this reason, Im still quite happy to rate this place a five even with the slip up. My colleagues meals all looked incredible and Id be keen to go back to sample the other dishes.
Absolutely horrible experience. Had dinner with my boyfriend and the service was awful. As soon as we sat down it felt as if they were rushing us to leave. Our waiter was fine. Mediocre at best. However, when I asked a bus woman where the bathroom was at, she told us there wasn’t one. I was suspicious of her honesty, considering the fact that she was hesitant when she gave me an answer. I asked another waiter and he guided me to the restroom. After our average meal, we told our main waiter of the incident and he apologized profusely. The manager came to the table and basically yelled at me, saying that there’s a language barrier and that she probably didn’t understand what I said. After explaining to him that I was very clear with what I asked, he scoffed and told me there was nothing he could do. Considering the fact that we were on vacation and not locals, this completely threw off our night and our entire trip. We will never give our business to this establishment again. You can honestly get the same quality food at Olive Garden.
Still one of the finest Italian restaurants in Beverly Hills after 40 years. Great food. Great and genuine Italian hospitality. Plenty of street and Beverly Hills city parking and valet service. Full bar. Very cozy and comfortable patio dining and inside seating. Reasonable prices for Beverly Hills. Entrees are in the $25 to $40 range. Excellent wine menu.
If I could give 0 Stars I would I put down a reservation on Monday before Valentines Day on Friday knowing that it will be super busy. I arrive 5 minutes before my reservation time, I then am told they cant find me on the list. Things happen I get it but to be told wait 5 to 10 minutes Ill get your table ready and then wait almost a half hour to be seated outside by the entrance. I know its California and it only hits 50 degrees but when the outdoor heater Runs Out before we are even given menu which took 20 minutes to receive. We almost leave our waitress finally comes and gives us menus me and my wife order drinks an appetizer and our entrees all at the same time. It took 30 minutes to receive our drinks on the next round I walked in the bar myself because our waitress had not come back yet. Took me 2 minutes to get the drink that took her 30 minutes. While I am at the bar my food and appetizer come out at the same time after almost an hour of waiting. My appetizer was cold most likely sitting on the counter for some time. Our food was lukewarm and rushed . The presentation was awful. It looked like I went to the store and bought hamburger helper. Yet I walked out leaving spending $150. The best part is when the person in front of us when we arrived when we finally got seated and received our menus they were already done eating and leaving the restaurant. If you want a bad service and mediocre food this is your place. If you want great service and great food go down the street to Da Pasquale and dont waste your time.
It is very busy place on weekend, especially now during COVID-19. My advice is to make a reservation prior your arrival in order not to stay in line. Staff is friendly but sometimes they can forget about your order (that happened to me and I was waiting for 1 hour and 30 min to get my pasta).Italian atmosphere presents here, they speak Italian🙂 I give 4 out of 5
I had a delightful time at this Beverly Hills restaurant with cuisine from Northern Italy. They have a large expansive internal courtyard for dining as well as expanded sidewalk seating. The tables were spaced far enough apart to be social distance compliant. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and without the Bev Hills attitude you find at some nearby restaurants. The food was authentic regional cuisine with many items on the menu. The pizza we chose for an appetizer was thin and delicious and was perfect for the four of us, as we each got two satisfying pieces. The lasagna was equally wonderful, as was the creme brulee for dessert. The red wine was full-bodied, albeit a bit pricey. One of the diners at our table ordered a whole fish and we were all relieved to see that one of the waitstaff took her time to debone and behead the fish, so all that remained on the plate he received were wonderful filet strips ready to be savored. Overall, Caffe Roma was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I highly recommend this casually upscale restaurant.
Location and atmosphere were nice and the food was great but Im pretty sure our waiter was a trainee. We were seated quickly but then waited about 10 mins before the waiter even acknowledged us and brought us water. He only brought bread over when I asked but no plates, olive oil, cheese etc (it was all on a table in the middle of the place so we knew they served it). I had to specifically ask for each and every thing. He was better once the meal was served (and the manager checked on us a couple of times) but the waiter was inattentive which was frustrating. We didnt get salads but they looked really good. Dinner, wine and dessert were all great. Its a little pricey but I thought they were reasonable for the area and quality of food.
Delicious authentic Italian cuisine. Great pizza and pasta..Moderate prices. This restaurant has been popular for more than 30 years and is patronized by celebrities and other locals who enjoy the food, indoor and outdoor dining and the old films that are screened there.
Positives first, the Latte was the best part of the meal. The prices were fair for the location. Pizza was good. Chicken parm was not seasoned well and the sauce was bland. Lasagna was way to soft. No texrure just mushy. We did have great company for a family reunion. It saved the evening.
The drinks and environment were actually nice. I liked sitting outside, and happy hour makes the prices reasonable, for Beverly Hills anyway. But the server flat out disappeared for well over an hour, no exaggeration... We asked both a manager and a different server if they could help us by grabbing the check but it still took forever. She magically appeared over an hour after we saw her last. It was just bizarre and put a terrible taste in my mouth.
I went there on Valentines Day for dinner. The restaurant was packed, and unfortunately they couldnt handle the volume. Long wait times from the moment we sat down until we paid. I had to go to the hostess stand to insist on paying my bill because the waiter just couldnt handle the amount of tables he had. The food itself was okay, the salmon was a bit dry, the branzino was good. Wont go back, just wasnt impressed at all with the wait times. They should have known it was gonna get busy on Valentines.
I hold my Beverly Hills Real Estate Investors meetup here. The managers are very hospitable. Theres plenty of parking in the city lots nearby. Most provide free parking for 90 to 2 hours. Some of the city parking lots are free after 6 p.m.The food is great here. Its an easy place to have a group meeting.
First it took forever just to meet our server.... I. Doing so we had to walk to the host stand to get menus but had to get the hostess attention. Mind you I was the only on at the stand with her and she was staining right at me and looked lost. Once we ordered, the waitress had to make our drinks (wonder why the bartender didnt, he was just standing at the bar). Drinks are over price small but good. We still waiting on on our food and have been at lest 45 minutes. Also the waitress was clearly having a bad day and made it it know. The food finally came....Food was just ok, on that alone Id never come back. Also when we sat down the hostess told us it was happy hour all day, the menu said it was happy hour all day. The bill didnt reflect that. The manager said they ended that and argued with me. I told her what the hostess said and the menu... she still argued. NEVER again will I come back. The price isnt the issue its the lack of honoring your posted prices! There is something fundamentally wrong with this restaurant!

Worse place to come to relax and enjoy music . The manager is super rude and disrespectful and I am not sure why they are keeping him there . I am not a drinker and I was the Designated driver so came to the bar and people were dancing and having a good time and I was there maybe for 5 min and the manager comes in a rude voice saying you have to drink for $25 or you have to leave and I told him I am not drinking but my friends are since I am driving so he left and I ordered a sparkling water which was $8 and while I was drinking it a security comes which is a very nice and sweet guy and he knows the manger is wrong and he said I have to spend $25 and sparkling water is not enough and he said he is sorry . I asked for a check and left $25 for them since they need the money so bad . I have never been so disrespected in my life for $25 and we are in Beverly Hills not in Compton.i will make sure I let everyone know to not go to this place .very rude and disrespectful.customers always comes first and at a bar you can’t force people to drink! What if I drink and get in accident ? Only cheap rude and disrespectful people will do that to there customer.
I was here a long time ago. I used to come with my friends, and it was nice to have a good meal with an Italian music. 15 years later its still nice, but it did not feel the same, maybe because I got older and more picky about the food. Service needs a little improvement, otherwise I will come again, to remember those nostalgic moments.
Where do I begin? First of all, I never write reviews, but this experience put such a damper on our entire evening following our visit that I felt obligated to write this in hopes that other people’s evenings would not be ruined. I really wanted my experience to be positive here because the ambiance was wonderful and the drinks were solid. The problematic part was the service. We sat down at the bar and waited to be greeted. After a few minutes, a distracted and disgruntled (for no apparent reason, seeing as the place wasn’t very busy) bartender came over, stood in front of us, and very rudely asked what we wanted. Keep in mind, he had not greeted us or given us menus. We kindly asked for menus and, after he handed them over, he came back less than a minute later again asking what we wanted. We felt very pressured to make a quick decision—but why? This should have been a relaxed, laid back experience. He gave us attitude as we ordered and actually walked away while we were ordering. Apparently he really had somewhere to be because he was rushing us the entire time. Later, we asked for our check when we were finishing our drinks (after one round because we couldn’t stand to have another drink with this guy behind the bar). We paid but didn’t necessarily intend to leave instantly (since we were still finishing our drinks). He came back and moved my husband’s wallet off of the receipt and took the receipt. Why you would not wait until we are getting up to leave to grab that, I will never know...or at least until we shut the book and move it over for him to grab. He then had the nerve to stand directly in front of us and start talking to people he seemed to know who had just walked in. He said, “Don’t worry, they’re leaving,” as he pointed at us. And we were STILL finishing our drinks at this point. He proceeded to stand there in front of us and he just stared at us. It was so uncomfortable that my sister asked if he needed something. He said “no” and then said “bye” very rudely as he walked to the other end of the bar.Moral of the story: this bartender gave us so much attitude for absolutely no apparent reason. I work in food service as a manager and let me tell you, that sort of behavior should NEVER slide for any employee. That is NOT customer service. For this reason, I would never come back to this establishment or recommend it, even though the drinks were good and the food looked great (didn’t eat dinner there)! Very disappointing.
Great place, we had a nice time, dancing (good DJ), eating and drinking, last Saturday. Thank you guys for being there and for all the hard work running a restaurant and having to satisfy so many judging people. BTW: I came many time to the net working events that Mark B is holding there every few months and its allays have been a win.
Cafe Roma makes you feel like you are at home_a! The staff are super friendly, attentive to concerns and very pleasant. We had the sausage and mushroom pizza & truffle pizza. The pizzas were really yummy! We would come back just for that. Took another pizza to go! Thin crust that was crisp and softness, sauce that is sweet and fresh toppings. Pizza for days!!The avocado scampi was interesting, not quite sure the purpose. Half cut avocado, with some pieces of shrimp, and plenty of arugula. It was more veggie than seafood. The octopus was amazing!! In the past I was not into that 8 legged sea monster, but now that is a new go- to!Brussels sprouts au gratin had a great flavor ,roasted goodness, with scant amount of cheese. The eggplant Parmesan was salty and had plain tomato sauce. Suggestions of a richer sauce with garlic, onions, dice tomatoes and more seasoning. It was blah with blah.Had the Torte Della Nonna & Tiramisu, the Torta was more impressive, rich and memorable.OMG the drinks, they were awesome! Had espresso martini and cucumber martini. That would swing the pendulum to choose to be an alcoholic. Happy hour is where it is at!Parking is available on the street, or across the street in underground plaza parking structure. Go after 5pm and it is a flat $7.Outside & inside seating, bar with a comfortable and hip lounge, or enjoy the dinning area.Would totally return and try out other great dishes.
Why a 1 star you ask? Well the service was terrible. We had to get our own cutlery otherwise we would be eating with our hands. Asked for water and got none. Had to ask for the bill and the waiter saw us put the credit card down but didnt take it until asked to. Bought the wrong food- asked for bruschetta and got something else. What useless service.
Genuinely friendly, professional service and authentic CONSiSTENT Italian dishes that earned them a Italian Guild seal of approval overshadow their reputation as a Euro-trash celebrity-driven cafe. Packed week-days and for their terrific Happy Hours, on Sunday their sunny courtyard, usually with at least one 20-member family party at a long table, is the closest thing to being in Italy. Our first choice for five years. If you have a problem, let the office know and they will take care of it.
Caffe Roma is right in the middle of the famous Canon St. In Beverly Hills. Friday night is very lively with an eclectic crowd of regulars, celebs and tourists. They have a full bar and DJ, as well as large dining areas in and outside in the enclosed outdoor courtyard. I arrived there early but enjoyed the atmosphere and music so much I chilled out for an extra few hours. My main server and head waiter Jesse Sanchez(told me hes been there since they opened 38 years ago)provided outstanding, personable and flawless service. He was assisted by Adam who was also excellent.I hadnt eaten all day so I ate alot starting with the Gamberi Salad(huge succulent shrimp) in fresh and healthy spinach leaves and topped with very large, creamy avocado slices. The Summerland, Santa Barbara white wine suggested by Jesse was perfect with my linguini entree which was also a winner. The dessert of peach and lemon sorbetto was also one of the best desserts Ive had in awhile.I am a coffee fiend and my espressos and cappuccinos were as good as, if not better than most top coffee bistros.I had the pleasure of meeting the Manager, Davide Giliberti(real Italian)who was running the place very smoothly considering the large crowd in the demanding BH market. The Staff is all well dressed(shout out to Mr. Giliberti) and my courtyard table amply heated by a nice electric flame.Overall, I am really impressed with Caffe Roma and this is now my go to restaurant in Beverly Hills for the best Italian cuisine in a stylish, classy and entertaining atmosphere.Bonus: The fine art portrait photography of celebrities is some of the best Ive seen anywhere.Well done Caffe Roma.
There are many restaurants around Rodeo Drive. After brunch here, me and my friend are happy we found cafe Roma. Open space and privacy. Many seating options such as sofa or table. Inside or outside. And one of the best egg Benedict you will find.Prices: brunch for 2, with coffee and a drink, $54. Great price and not just for a restaurant in Rodeo drive.
Came here w/ some friends for the Old NY Celebration, the place was pretty empty at the beginning when we got here but around 9 PM but it started getting packed & the DJ was pumping good Euro music. There were tons of hot Russian & Armenian women & men here & we had a fun time.Food:Octopus Appetizer (Baby Octopus Sauteed with Fingerling Potatoes): 3.5 starsGrilled octopus was good & the greens balanced out the octopus but the serving was on the small side for the price.Pizza (Mozzarella, Tomato And Fresh Basil): 1 starThis pizza had no basil what so ever on it & it came out oily & sloppy. I would not recommend this to anyone to order. This was such a lame excuse for a pizza, dominos would have been so much better than this sad slice of pizza.Decor: Nice, warm, old world decor & great crowd for dancing when DJs playing good music.Overall, Food was decent but drinks were better because they were liberal with the alcohol. I wouldnt eat here, Id rather just order drinks here.Tip: HH is much more worth it. HH: 3pm - 8pm DailySPECIAL HAPPY HOUR MENU & 51% Off CocktailsThey have DJs Friday and Saturday nights 8pm - 2am
Used to have better European music on wkend nights. Ownership made it more stuck up, with bouncer at entrance to look you up and down as you come and go. Only Latin music nowadays, even though crowd is not Latino, terrible dj. Not comming back, also others seems to do the same as they are not as crowded as they used to be
Terrible service.I was there at night with my girlfriend.1) Piece of dried food from previous usage was on one of my plates. Bad dishwashing. Im a simple guy, Im not an quality inspector. The problem was easily seen without a magnifying lens and in the hall with low lighting.2) When one of the waiters passed near me, he kicked my chair so I was nearly fell. Im 230 pounds guy, and you know it is difficult task to move me from my place, but waiter did it. He even did not stoped and did not ask for forgiveness.3) I hate annoying florists that force you to buy sh*tty-low-quality-flowers. I hope she will lose her job because she does not know how to do it. Way to be Annoying florist - stop between couple and ask THREE times Are you sure you do not want to buy flowers for your girlfriend?. Way to be Good florist - stop behind the girlfriend back so guy can see you, enter into the eye contact and show the flowers. If a guy wants to buy flowers, he will call you.Thank you Caffe Roma for spoiled night. Have good luck.
Caffe Roma has evolved since the first time I met it 8 years ago, from being the classic and rudimentary Italian restaurant to what it is now, a place that not only reflects the typical Tuscan cuisine, but also fills every night with Joy, colors and music with a very European style that nobody can discuss.

2022-07-12My family used to go here a decent amount when I was younger. I had always loved it, decided to come back after having not gone in probably 15 years or so.The food overall was very solid, but the service was slightly slow. The pizza funny enough tasted just like I remembered it, in a good way.It did seem a bit empty, I dont know if it was just the time of day/week we chose to go, but it does feel like they need to invest a little into updating the place here and there. My wife was thinking itd be cool if they had like a little Italian market in the space, kind of like Bay Cities.Either way, looking forward to coming back again.

2022-04-19Cafe Roma was a wonderful surprise. We sat in the atrium area under the sky. Our sever Victor was the best!!! He provided excellent advice on what to order without the pressure. Everything he recommended was delicious. The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic! We look forward to seeing Victor and Cafe Roma again soon!

2022-05-20I rarely write these public reviews but I had such a devastating experience. The evening is cold for LA at this time of the year, and we just came out of the clinic exhausted, wanting to have some warm and decent food. After ordering one meatball spaghetti and one lasagna, we sat for almost 40 mins without any sign of food coming up. I asked, as politely as I could, when will these pasta arrive. The waitress went to check but didnt come back, thats when I realized they didnt place the order at all.I then talked to a man who dressed as manager, he quickly went into the back then told me the pasta shall arrive in 5 minutes. The pasta did arrive within 5 minutes, the only problem is, the spaghetti is so raw that I can hardly chew. I do my own cooking at home so I know the pasta must have been boiled for only 3 to 4 minutes. Its simply inedible.I told the manager we will not be eating our spaghetti. I paid for the rest of the food (which were also rarely touched), and left without making a scene. Its not worth the time to argue with liars. To those of you thinking of going to this place: dont.

2022-02-25My favorite spot in town! great selection of wine. The patio is perfect to dine in. We love to bring guests here whenever they come to visit. I highly recommend the tagliatelle with meat sauce but really anything that I tried on the menu was superb!

2021-03-14Italian restaurant close to Rodeo Drive. Outdoor seating was comfortable. Waiters were attentive and service was fairly quick. Ordered the mussels to share which were delicious, as well as the artichoke salad that had an amazing lemon zest. For mains we all ordered fish, branzino was over salted but loved the salmon, it was crunchy and flavorful. Their coffee is great. Prices are high.

2021-04-25Great place to hangout!! We love their food. Due to COVID-19 🦠 they have outdoor dining which we really love it. Same as other close by restaurants and shops, parking is little difficult to find. You can use the publick parkings.Beer 🍺 Pizza 🍕 Pasta 🍝 Garlic Bread 🧄 🍞
