All I can say is WOW. Let’s start with Emily, the owner. This woman has a serious passion for helping others feel their best. I have been at Emily’s two times now for highlights and extensions ! Emily is the ultimate perfectionist!She did an amazing job with my hair! In most hair salons you would have 3 hairdresser doing what she does! She did my highlights ,extensions and hair cut in one sitting ! I found Emily after doing a frantic search for someone who specializes in extensions after I had a bad experience just a month before my wedding - I cannot believe how lucky I got! Not only did she managed to salvage my hair for my wedding and made me feel (and look) like a million bucks, but Ive been working with her for the past few months since and my hair is healthier and thicker and Ive switched to extensions that are more appropriate for my hair type.Emily does a really thorough assessment of your hair type and matches you with the appropriate type of extension (as opposed to my previous experience at a different salon where I was oversold on extensions that turned out to be too heavy for my really thin hair). Shes a perfectionist and it shows in her results. I also really appreciate how she works with you, shes not a pushy stylist and she really takes a lot of time to come up with a plan for what you want. I was extremely impressed with her! I have been coming to Emily for about 9months! I have very fine hair and she is an expert at fine hair! I was so happy to find her! Since my hair is so fine, I stopped coloring it about 7 years ago. Emily convinced me that her products would work fine with my hair and she added high lights and low lights and they look great. I get constant positive comments about my hair now! I came in with shoulder length thick thick hair that wasn’t growing and wanted to have long beautiful hair. I came into Emily with no previous knowledge on extensions and she gave me the best consultation and taught me about what type of extension to get for my hair. I ended up getting amazing tape-ins with 2 different lengths of 14” and 18” inch in dark brown and it matched PERFECTLY. I got 2 different lengths because my own hair was one length across and the layers help so much to blend it out.Ever since I got these extensions I have received endless compliments about how well they blend and how it makes me look younger! Before my hair wasn’t able to grow to the length I wanted and now I don’t have to worry! I don’t even curl/straighten them that much either because I love the natural wave they have after a wash and blow dry. I even started washing my hair less because the hair allows me to go multiple days without it and dry shampoo does wonders. Emily taught me to preserve the hair by washing less, less heat, and brushing. She also really helped me by getting me the best brand hair so they will last me the moneys worth!I work in an office setting and my hair before was boring and short but now I’m obsessed with my look. Emily is fun and sweet and will keep you entertained the entire time! I recommend her to all my friends!

I can’t say enough about how much i love my hair! I came in wanting thicker longer hair and Emily delivered. After a lot of thought and apprehensions I decided to give it a try and went there. Emily is an absolute professional who understood my needs and suggested some options. I eventually tried one of them and I can’t believe the transformation I saw. It took so many years of my face and made me feel like a college kid again. I ALMOST spent $2,000 on extensions. During my appointment after she applied my extensions she told me that in the future I could go longer if I wanted like 22 inches. I found this absurd considering that in the consultation with her, I told her I was interested in long hair but she said that there was only 18 inches. Anyways, after getting the extensions I noticed that the second row was super loose. I decided not say anything because I was already being over charged for multiple things. I also felt like she was going to charge me just to fix it. My experience here wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. Emily acts “nice” but it seems like her only interest is to get paid. She wasn’t even trying to meet my expectations.I’m upset because I paid a lot of money and the service wasn’t that great.
My hair has been thinning for a while now and Ive looked around at all kinds of businesses that to hair replacement systems, you tube and even Instagram trying to learn all that I can so I know the right questions to ask and what might look good on me. Its safe to say I did my research. I found Bond Hair Bar on a Google search and checked yelp, Google reviews and the hair replacement page on the site also. Most reviews were every good and there were some that were not so good but I have to remember that when its 95% good the bad ones are most likely people you can never please in the first place. It seemed like Bond Hair was a solid choice after I saw the you tube channel and watched the hair replacement video that was even more informative. I went in for a consultation and met Emily ( owner ). She was very knowledgeable, professional and I could tell I was in good hands. 👍 She fit me for a ( new skin system ) with my same texture and color. I went back 2 days later for my install and I was nervous because she shaved my hair on top but that was the procedure. There was no turning back at this point but whatever happened was going to be better than what I had been looking at in the mirror for years. When it was done she check marked all the boxes 1) light weight 2) manageability 3) color and texture 4) looks like I was born with it. IT REALLY looks better than my hair ever did!I am so happy now and more confident. Im excited about my life more than I have been in years. This was the best thing Ive done for myself. My hair has never really grown past my shoulders as it’s too thin and starts to look see-through. I wanted the ability to have many different hairstyles and feel a bit younger. I also wanted it to look natural, not be too heavy and easy to maintain.I previously tried a different method (Natural Beaded Row Extensions) but wasn’t pleased with the outcome. I did some research and found Emily and her method of extensions and thought I would try it. She worked with me to decide on the style, color and explained exactly how it would work. I was so pleased with the outcome! Everyone said it looked totally natural and that they couldn’t tell I had extensions. Emily is a great person, very patient and specific in the process of hair extensions. In my case, i need to remove my glue extensions and put the new tape extensions. It was an amazing process so quickly and taking care every second of my hair. I have to say that it was my first option that i saw for this process and in the consultant i get impressed and didnt need to check more options. Definitely I love her and recommend 100% ! I have never written a google review but after my experience with Emily I felt obligated to do so! Amazing !!! Ive had my tape in extensions from Emily for almost 6 weeks and I am just as impressed and excited about them as the first day I got them. Ive worn tape in extensions consistently for about 4 years and have had them installed by several stylist and Emily is one of the best! Great quality hair, placed perfectly, and havent experienced any tape slipping or breakage at all!Emily is super sweet and helpful and colored my hair and installed a full set of extensions in about 2 hours which was very impressive! All the positive reviews are spot on! For any negative reviews regarding high price, extensions are a little expensive as they always have been but youre paying to have fabulous pretty thick hair everyday. She also gave me so many products to keep the hair healthy love it !
Emily is the absolute best hair extension specialist in the entire Bay Area!!! I have gone to several different stylists as I have been doing this for over 15 years and she knows what she is doing. This the ONLY person that I have had no negative effects like breakage from my hair extensions. Her technique has been by far the most comfortable and easy to style. My hair looks natural and I get compliments all of the time. People cannot believe I have hair extensions. I also am very thin on top and she created a customized piece that is amazingly natural and feels great!

Emily is amazing!! I had tape-in extensions done at another salon. At first everything was fine, my stylist was super careful (I have very fine hair), and managed to keep me in extensions for about 8 months with little or no damage. As is the case these days, my stylist had to leave the Bay Area because of the rising cost of living, so the salon handed me and her other clients over to a “new” stylist. This woman RIPPED my extensions out of my hair.... barely using the removing solution.... causing massive damage to my hair and leaving bald spots. When she reapplied my extensions... she put them in so tight, I had a headache for 3 days and the tension on my scalp was too much and the extensions were pulling my hair out. I called around because there was no way I could ever go back to that place, and was lucky to find Emily. I went in for a consultation and Emily was so great. I told her my story.... she gave me a bunch of options, but her biggest concern was giving me the beautiful hair I always wanted with as little damage to my own hair as possible. What she gave me was so much more! Not only was she gentle....no pulling, no headache, no damage........ but she gave me a gorgeous head of hair that looks natural and beautiful. I recommend her to anyone who wants extensions but especially to someone who has fine hair or who’s had a bad experience in the past. You won’t be disappointed.... I promise!

Emily is the best! I go to her for “fringe styling” she cuts my bangs perfectly. For me it’s so hard to find consistant stylists when it comes to bangs. It’s the first thing people see and she does an amazing job every time! Emily has also transformed my unruly hair when it comes to products. The cuilty free shampoo, conditioner and serum she gave me doesn’t compare to any other professional hair product I’ve used in the past. I can now brush through my curls with minimal frizz! I have extremely fine flyaway hair that wont even grow past a certain length. I have always been self conscious of my natural hair and wanted extensions but thought they were not an option for me because of my hair type. I booked an appointment with Emily who is vey knowledgeable about hair extensions. She gave me all the information I needed and explained that with the proper type and installment, hair extensions will absolutely work...and man was she right.I love the extensions and am giving this review after two months of wearing them. I finally have a full head of long hair and get compliments by complete strangers. I have returned to Emily for re-installment and touch ups which is super easy. I had two hair extensions come out in the beginning which is very scary and Emily correctly assessed the problem (I-locks werent working on my sleeping side) and re attached them with a different bond. Problem solved. I could not be happier with the extensions and the service.

Emily first started working with me when I came in as a walk-in appointment, and since then, shes the only person I trust with my difficult to manage curly hair. Shes cut my hair according to reference images, and also knows how to make something look good when my response to what do we want to do today is simply shorter. I have been wearing Emilys extensions for the last six months and have been loving it! I keep getting compliments for my hair everywhere I go and feel gorgeous all the time! :)I first got hair extensions when another hairstylist gave me a horrible, uneven haircut just a few days before my birthday. I hated my hair so much that I found myself crying while looking at the mirror! Thats when I remembered about hair extensions and reached out to Emily. Emily was lovely and got me scheduled quickly, so I was able to get beautiful hair in time for my birthday! She gets everything scheduled through an app, which makes scheduling easy and seamless. You can tell she really cares about her business and pours her art into it because all the details are taken care of for you. After the extensions were installed, Emily gave me a little gift bag with Loma products for my hair and we also had a pleasant conversation about personal development and following ones passions. I left feeling gorgeous and shining from the inside and the outside!The hair extensions werent cheap but they do look gorgeous - they blend perfectly with my hair and, even six months later, feel soft and have no split ends.Its super important how you take care of your hair after extensions, so I will share my routine with all of you: although typically you would only wash hair with extensions twice a week, I have gotten away with washing my extensions every day without them ever falling out! I did this by selecting very natural and delicate shampoos without sulfates or parabens - the one I use is by John Masters Organics. If your extensions are falling out, it is quite likely that you are using the wrong shampoos with chemicals that are dissolving the tape. I then follow the shampoo with a leave in hair conditioner, and also apply a hair mask at the tip of the extensions. Every morning, I use the Loma nourishing oil that Emily gave me for the tips of my extensions, which smells wonderful and makes my hair feel magically soft all day!Anyway, I love my extensions so much that Im getting them again this month! Im a little scared that, by the time I take my extensions out, my hair will have thinned, as I will have been wearing the extensions for seven months by that point! First of all, can I just say how awesome, Emily, is! This review is long overdue, but her knowledge of hair extensions and which methods are best for her clients is really what helped me decide on moving forward with getting extensions. Ive been a constant user of clip in extionsions and was looking for something more permanent. After looking on Yelp and doing a ton of research on each stylist, I chose to make an appointment with Emily. Making the appointment itself was super easy to do.During our consultation, Emily, educated me about the types of hair extensions and which method was best for my hair. I have thick hair with strong cuticles, which can withstand the weight of tape- in extionsions. After deciding on a color, she ordered the extensions right then and there and booked my next appointment for the following week. FYI, these extensions are not cheap and you definitely get what you pay for.The installation of the tape-in extensions was quick and easy, to my surprise! And better yet, the extensions did not weigh my hair down nor did my scalp hurt. I WAS IN LOVE. My natural hair blended so well with the extensions and I felt like a new woman. I got so many compliments from my friends and clients at work, and I got my confidence back.After about 8 weeks, I was due for a re-install because my hair had grown out. Again, Emily made the appointment quick and easy, making sure not one single extension was missed.About 6 weeks after my re-install I had moved to SoCal and noticed that the tape holding the extensions were not holding up well and I was freaking out. Luckily, I had already planned a trip to NorCal and made time to squeeze in an appointment with Emily to see what was going on. I told her my situation and the first thing that came to her mind was, Hard Water. THANK GOD she knows her stuff cause I never would have guessed that was the cause of my extensions falling out. Emily reassured me that it was an easy fix.Ok, long story short, GO SEE EMILY FOR ALL YOUR HAIR EXTENSION NEEDS!!! She is a master of her craft and definitely wont disappoint. I found Emily based on her reviews on Yelp. Well, the reviews were spot on! Emily is very, very good in what she does. Im glad I took the plung and booked a session six months ago. Ive been a satisfied customer ever since. Emily does hair extensions and once youve tried them, you are hooked. Life is a lot easier and simpler with them.
Absolutely amazing! I met Emily while at a local fashion show. She had the impossible task of turning my stick straight coarse shoulder length hair (Asian hair!) into an elegant look, hi fashion look. She can work wonders! If possible, she is a hair whisperer... amazing :)
When I first got it touch with Emily she booked a consultation for me because I was interested in getting hair extensions. She was awesome. She color matched my hair perfectly and made the extensions custom match to the multiple colors I have. After the order was placed for the extensions she booked the appointment for the installation. Then the day came! I was super excited and I was just amazed at how perfect the extensions looked and how flawless they looked. There was definitely something special about the way she placed each individual strand, custom for sure. She was awesome from start to finish and kept in touch with me afterwards to make sure the extensions were out. Overall very impressed and happy with my experience.
I have had extensions for six months; however just moved to the area from Reno. I needed someone to touch up my hair. I called Emily extremely last minute with an emergency situation after my extensions were botched in the Bay Area. She kindly fit me in. Emily was very knowledgeable and fixed my extensions. I have suffered from aleopecia for around 3 years and had patches all over my head, I went to a hair appointment with my family friend to Emily and after she found out about my hair she immediately brought me this product. This product Ethica after around 6 months completely grew my patches back and I haven’t seen anymore since then.

Emily seems like a nice enough person but she is clearly more interested in being on her phone and and neglecting the clients in her chair. She is clearly concerned with other things than what she is doing at the moment. My hair is now breaking and I wont be going back.

She put my hair on backwards and charged me full price and then didn’t agree to fix it for days because she was “busy”. Oh, and I wanted my hair lightened so she says that’s why she put my hair on backwards.And when I asked to fix it a day later and came to her store asking her (after paying $650 for this. Asked for chestnut brown color and she put two of the wefts BACKWARDS) she called the cops on me and said I was bothering her.She overcharges and treats people like shes doing them a favor. Not worth the $$$$$$$$ and time.

2022-06-30Emily is so knowledgeable about what she does. I reached out to Emily after a five year hiatus from hair extensions and was happy to see shes still killing the hair extension game. We consulted on what kind I should get at her gorgeous salon in San Mateo - I had seen her 6 years previously at a different salon. Sheknew instantly that my hair couldnt hold up to the kind we previously used. She found a perfect match to my hair color and installed them 3 business days later install was quick and she makes your time there enjoyable. Not to mention Im obsessed with how my hair looks!! I recently was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and unfortunately the side effects of my disease made my hair brittle and would break very easily. I was so happy to come across Bond Hair Bar and I contacted Emily for a consultation. With Emilys knowledge and Giselles great hair dying skills Emily created a hair replacement system for me and I absolutely love it. 2021-08-14Emily is a master! I wanted extensions for my wedding, and I had plans to get them with someone else, but things fell through. Emily was able to get me in ASAP for a consultation and then for the service. I was very hesitant, because it was very expensive – more than I wanted to pay for extensions, however, now I know why. The quality of service and treatment were so worth it. The color and texture matching were perfect! I know that if I did something else less expensive it would not have looked this good. I had so many compliments regarding my hair from friends and family, and they could not believe it wasn’t my real hair. As they say, you get what you pay for. I LOVE my hair – it was perfect for the wedding and plan on keeping them in for some time. In addition, it was such a fun experience to hang with Emily, and I now know where I will be going from now on for all my hair needs!

2021-12-14If I found out about this salon sooner I wouldve been coming every year. I found Emily through my own searching and Im so glad I found her. I needed help on maintaining my hair because I knew I wasnt going to be able to do it on my own. Emily gave me the best option for my hair, and was able to install it as soon as she could. She made my confidence go through the roof, I look like a whole new woman, I love looking at myself and everyone I know has complimented my hair. 2022-04-04While visiting family in the area I was recommended this business for hair extensions. The owner, Emily, was so knowledgable and friendly. She recommended the Keratin bond extension which I absolutely love! You cant tell you have extensions and although it was a bit pricey - it is so well worth it! Switching over to the keratin bond method, I require fewer maintenance appointments, saving both time and money. I highly recommend this salon!

2021-11-04Simply put, Emily is amazing. I have naturally thin, fine hair, but over the last six months, I began to lose massive amounts of it. As someone with thin hair, I had used hair extensions on and off for over 8 years. I used every method- braided weave, beaded weft, tape in, individual bonds, individual locks, etc- and was never totally satisfied. My thin hair always struggled to cover heavy tracks of hair and I hated how the wefts would sag on the bottom track after only a couple of weeks. I had been without extensions for about 4 years prior to seeking out Emily. With my sudden hair loss, which a dermatologist determined was likely early onset baldness, I was really struggling with self-esteem issues. I booked a consultation with Emily expecting to discuss extensions but she immediately recommended hair replacement, which in my case, is a “topper.” This has a ton of benefits- no tension on my already struggling hair, totally natural look, builds volume at crown, no tracks to deal with covering, and pretty much total flexibility with how I style my hair. It’s also a super quick install, clocking in around 90 minutes (versus the 6 hours I used to spend when I had individuals). I can wash my hair, workout, style it, and it’s thick, full, and totally natural looking. I have never been more happy with how my hair looks.I get asked a lot about cost and I think the pricing is totally fair. Expense is relative, so I’ll say this: It is worth the money to fix my self confidence. I look at it like plastic surgery, and it costs a hell of a lot less than that. I’ve spent more on extensions with terrible outcomes, so I feel like the cost is totally fair. It also must be said that this isn’t amateur level hair. Emily is a specialist and I think she more than earns her pricing. I think it’s more than fair and comparable with other specialists, especially with what I’ve spent on other methods over the years.Overall, I couldn’t be happier with how my hair looks and feels. It truly feels unreal to have such full hair.

2022-02-09I went to Bond Hair Bar expecting the same experience I get at every salon. I was expecting the same questions and comments about my thinning hair. I was expecting the crowded room of people and the anxiety that comes along with going to the salon. However, walking into Bond I was treated like a person. I was spoken to like a friend, not to mention they have a room that’s private and separate from the rest of the salon. This experience has forever changed how I feel about getting my hair done. I no longer feel anxious, intimidated, or embarrassed. I can finally be excited! From the knowledge, professionalism, personalized experience, caring staff, and just an all around fantastic experience at Bond. I can confidently say that I will be a customer for a very long time! 2020-06-04For the past 15 years I have been struggling with thin and brittle hair. It just never grew back the same after chemo. Ive tried different products from home remedies to shampoos to clip in extensions and custom wigs... I randomly decided to do a search for braided weaves and stumbled upon Emily. I met her Tuesday for a consult and she made me feel like this may be something that may help give me my confidence back.
