My husband and son and I went in just to see the beautiful birds but not to purchase, lol.The girls that work there were so friendly and knew all the personalities of each and every bird and how old they were and you could just see how they handled them with love and care and expertise. My favorite was this sweet big blue giant of a bird that just loved attention.
Great place to find a new, or maintain your current feathered friend. They have all the medium-large birds and supplies that Petco doesnt have (including a large selection of habitats). Full grooming of feathers, beak and toes for $15. Looking forward to their new sprouted and fresh parrot food options.
Looooved this Pet Store! The owner and workers were very nice. The store itself was an amazing interactive experience from the moment you step in the door. I loved that you could pretty much hold or pet almost all of the birds there. I love that they raise all their babies as hand fed. It really makes a difference in their behavior and personality. I highly recommend a trip to this bird shop if you are considering or looking for a bird to add to your family. They also have a huge selection of cages displayed from small to huge. Toys and feed as well. ❤🥰
I love this bird store, the staff are always so helpful, they can tell you everything you need to know about the birds. I dont live close but it is so worth the drive. My kids love going to there and looking and getting to hold the birds. Thank you to the staff and owners you guys are always so welcoming and willing to answer every questions we ask
Im not usually a pet person. I dont dislike animals so much as not trust them. Im especially not fond of birds so I was a lil skeptical when my cousin asked me to go with him.Staff: 10/10...helpful, knowledgeable, accommodating, and you can feel the love they have for these birdsThe birds themselves...amazing and therapeutic. I have never had such a relaxing experience. Definitely going back and even have my eye on a tiny bird...
I have used this place for a couple of years for grooming of our African Grey. The owner is rough with our bird and last visit only did the claws on one foot. I will be using a mobile groomer from now on. The store however is very nice, has a good supply of items for your bird needs and has recently added nice refrigerated snacks that seemed fairly priced for the different nutrtional needs of your bird. I love seeing all the pretty birds in the store.
I called about our Cockatiels beak being too long. She told me to bring her in and she did a beak, nail trim on the spot. She was very nice and professional and appreciate the service she provided. Sorry Im referring her as she, but I didnt get her name. I believe her to be the owner.
They didnt have a lot of smaller birds. they do have a good selection of birds toys & seed. prices were consistent with other bird supply stores. its not well cleaned tho. theres a noticeable odor inside. my nephew bought two lovebirds & supplies here. he was happy with his first purchase but he asked staff to hold a bird for him since it was too young to go home with him. he never got a call when it was ready so he went in & the owner told him she was the only one who could say when they were ready & she let them go to other customers without consideration that he wanted one.
I love this place, Everyone is very friendly. I come here to visit the birds, buy bird toys, buy bird seeds, even buy birds. I love coming here to see the macaws, I get along very well with the birds. I have birds of my own, Cockatiels, finches, parakeets. I seen the negative comments about this place and i don’t agree with them, It’s very hard to take care of birds because they are messy, People shouldn’t complain about “the place being dirty” All they’re employees are very responsible and kind, I love birds and this place is definitely better than magnolia bird farm in riverside, Magnolia bird farm are very rude, They’re birds aren’t nice either. Although the owner is very nice, He gave my birds free millets. Other than that, i definitely recommend this place, owner is also very nice.
Waking into this place I was helped by a young Hispanic girl (dont remember her name), super nice and decided to make two purchases. We spent two hours deciding which one to purchase. She explained everything and when she didnt know she would ask. The first bird we selected was ready to go home and the second bird was not ready to go home until it was able to eat on its own ( totally understandable). I had concerns on the second bird regarding its health ( appeared wheezing and had snot, and a runny nose) was given an explanation about a 72 hour policy and told how they would work with us should anything happen and recommended a Veterinarian appointment ASAP. As we were getting ready to check out a customer in line advised us not to purchase any toys or cages at the store, he mentioned that their items were extremely overpriced and to look at Amazon. Here is where EVERYTHING went south. I think the owner overheard the conversation and turned evil. I told the young lady that we would take the bird and purchase a cage elsewhere( was going to just buy the cheapest cage for transport) in front of about 20 people in the store the owner started literally started yelling at the employee and us stating that she would not sell the bird to go in a small cage (never said it would live in the cage, it was only to get the bird home safely) the reason I was buying a bird was to let it be free around the house, not to keep it in a cage. But, anyways! I felt some type of way and decided to walk away from the whole transaction. I just did not appreciate how she treated us, literally embarrassed us and the employee. Will not be returning to this place unfortunately. The birds were beautiful and such a shame
Last year I purchased a cockatiel from birds n paradise and he was in rough shape compared to the other members of the clutch. I had a lot of issues with him developing normally and had a few issues with his beak and feathers. I thought they would go away but after several months of owning my bird, he was beginning to have the same issues that kept reoccuring with his beak and feathers, while also beginning to have many night frights, which I was not forewarned of before purchasing my bird. After 6 months of owning him he had a night fright and began having issues with his respiratory that morning, so I messaged her for advice on what to do and even called her. She assumed that this issue was because I had sprayed something like febreeze in the area where my bird was (which I dont even have) and mentioned it was something in the air or that I had my stove on and the fumes caught in his lungs and needed to be immediately moved to fresh air and would be fine, which not the case at all.She also recommended vets that were over an hour away and I wouldnt have enough time to even get him there with the traffic.I had to find a vet nearby and calling around locally to see if anyone saw birds and rushed him to the nearest vet.The next morning I recieved a phone call from the vet that he had passed overnight and the death is still unknown. (It was not because of him falling)I messaged her, updating her that my baby bird had passed away and her response was that there would be another clutch hatching in a few weeks and I could put a deposit in for another bird, without any condolences. What I had understood from her messages was that she didnt really have any empathy or want to try to do something about the inconvenience and trauma I had to deal with, even with knowing I had him for such a short time.To this day im still really hurt about what happened and I just cant believe A business owner could do this to a client especially one that claims to love and have passion for birds. She didnt even try and come up with some sort of option for me, but I felt like I was left with a cold shoulder.I had wanted a cockatiel for several years and did tons of research on how to give my bird the best care and where to look to get a bird, yet that dream was quickly shattered from my experience at the shop.
I love this place this is where I got my cute loving bird and his name is mikey and he is the best Indian ringneck ever, he can already talk so I do recommend this place do not get pet smart birds get these birds from this place they have a big selection of birds to😁😁😁
This place is amazing. Your able to look and touch the birds, at your own risk. Ive bought 2 birds from them and they are so friendly! Always come here to get food, toys and get my birds groomed. Its just difficult to catch the owner on a day when she available to groom. But other than that its great!
My daughter ives this place. We are considering a Macaw. The story behind this place, how they also place hurt or surrendered birds an a sanctuary and how they have a few rescued birds mingle with the others in the shop is amazing.Have to consider the expense but cannot gi too long before we adopt a bird.
Friendly birds, friendly staff, great for kids. These birds are well taken care of. Although we are not in a position to purchase a bird due to owning a rambunctious cat, we still went to check out our local bird store as we intend to get a bird in the future. Our visit was pleasant so we will be returning often to aquaint our son with birds to prepare for future ownership.
Hey!!! I love this store I totally recommend it. I was looking at the negative reviews and I was thinking “what! This place is amazing and everyone is so nice!” But anyways, this place is way better than the magnolia bird farm, I went there and their employees are very rude and sarcastic. I bought 2 baby cockatiels from there about 1 and a half years ago. A few months after I got my birds, I took my cockatiel to get his wings and nails clipped and the rude employee was holding my baby bird by his neck and feet. I was looking at him from the side window and almost started crying. They also messed up and made him bleed. Then my bird was so mean after everything. After the employee was done with my bird, I went to look at their birds, so I went to the cages outside, and they have dead birds in the cages, it was so sad. I also found dead birds inside. (This was after the employee clipped my birds wings and nails) So I do not recommend magnolia bird farm. Birds N Paradise is way better! I got 2 baby parakeets from there and they are very sweet and playful. Everyone is very kind and they care for their birds very well. I also go there and buy toys for all of my birds. I love birds so much and I’m very gentle and experienced with them. I was born with them. I currently have 10 birds and the 10th bird is a successful baby finch that recently hatched about 3 weeks ago. Me and my mother plan to buy bigger exotic birds. We are interested in the Alexandrine Parakeet. We are planning to get one in the future! If people say this place is dirty, it’s not. Not everyone understands that it can also be hard to take care of birds and especially that they have lots of big exotic birds all the way down to small birds 😊 I love this place and I’m going to visit soon again! Again I totally recommend this place! 😃
The employees here really know there stuff! The birds are so beautiful! Even if you just want to look/pet/hold/feed these birds this is the place too go! I got my sun conure from here and he was not only pretty cheap but he is very loving! They have many birds................. simple ones like Parakeets to exotic birds like African Greys.
I liked the fact when you step into the store u see all the birds out of a cage and just walking everywhere. However with that I also noticed that the store is very dirty. The new cages and toys have birds on them and the birds poop on the items they are on top of. They have an area in the back of the store that leads to the outside where there are more birds and that area seems ignored by both the customers and the employees. Its a cool place to go see but I wouldnt recommend buying a bird from here. Apart from over pricing the birds they dont really have good customer service or good communication skills.
I am a Marine Corps Veteran and Champion in Muay Thai Kickboxing and believe me this place is a GREAT place to do business with. They take great care of their birds and always have a good variety of birds to choose from. Their selection of food and accessories is by far the largest in Southern California. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable about birds and are always willing to help customers. My wife and I have been going to this business around 2 times a week for the past 6 months and we are blessed to have built a relationship with Lory and her staff. We were present when the customer was asked to leave because she was rude when told by the owner that she should not poke birds in their face. This is a simple issue about pride and that lady was too proud to be told how to conduct herself around birds. I myself am not unteacheable and whenever Lory feels the need to tell me something I personally listen because she is extremely knowledgeable and far more experienced than most people in this industry. With that said, do not let a bad apple spoil you from the experience you will gain from doing business with Lory. Her birds are very sweet and she cares about them very much and I promise you that if you have the right attitude towards her and her birds then you will gain far more from her then she will from your business.
This place is absolutely amazing! The work and the care that go into these beautiful birds can only be provided by someone who truly cares. Lori is wonderful. She has the answers and makes sure you have everything you need. From birds, to food, toys and perches, this is the place to go!
This place is the best of the best!! The care and love they give their birds is the ultimate!! The best u will ever see. They are very honest with you about all !!they have the best selections on all supplies and toys in great abundance. They also bend over backwards to accommodate you in every way
This is a great place for all things birds (birds, cages, food, toys, trimmings, etc.). My daughter bought her cockatiel from here and they have been so helpful in all her questions she has. Her being able to hold and play with the bird first helped in her decision on picking the right bird. They do it right here.
I have visited this place many times before and was reviewing some of the reviews and was a little disappointed in the things that people had to say. I have had nothing but good experiences with the staff and the owner of birds n Paradise. Yes I recommend calling ahead to be sure that the owner is there to do bird grooming because she is not always available but they usually have a good idea when she will be in and when she will not be in. The birds are all very well taken care of and the place is kept very clean. I would definitely recommend this place.
Loved the service everyone was nice an patientWith me with all my questions as a 1st time buyer of a bird.green cheek conore beautiful little baby Im so happy with my bird an will come back soon to get another.birdy thank you to the ladies who helped 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😍😇
A little pricey but they make up for it with customer service and knowledge! I love how they treat me and I also like the fact that they arent aggressive with sales tactics. Its pretty cool they have several birds on perches you can handle. (Speaks volumes about theyre level of knowledge and care of our avian friends.)
Great place , we bought our African Senegal from Lori. She hand feeds all hers bird so they are all super friendly. The store has all types of birds and supplies , she also has grooming and boarding available if needed. We wouldnt trust anyone else with our bird. Very friendly place to go see and learn more about bird.
I bought pets from a swap meet vendor and they died in the past...rabbits, so I hoped our Lovebird was different...she died too. We decided to try this shop...they are unbelievable in their care. So dedicated and responsible. I trust them completely. Our bird is social, happy and healthy. I bought the recommended diet and am confident in our decision. They are more expensive than blackmarket vendors but better than petstores. I think you get what you pay for. They dont even keep the birds in cages. We got to hold any bird in the store. It was a great experience. We fell in love with 2 birds we would haved bought and were denied because they were not ready...I respect that. Offered a chance to delay option but chose a ready bird. They truely are bird experts. I saw them on my neighborhood watch where they had been robbed...so sad for such a beautiful company.
Purchased several birds here and was promised at time of purchase they would help after purchase with wing and nail trims (at a cost... not free), but after many months of attempting to reach Lori, Im still having trouble. Very disappointing. In the future, I will do business with Magnolia BIrd Farm where they are more helpful and available...not just making promises to make a sale.
I havent even been to your store yet . Ive heard about it your reviews are fantastic yes I have a severe macaw and I hand raised him . I got him at 3 weeks old from a bird curator who at the time worked at the San Diego zoo hes one of my babies I also have a mulan cockatoo hes beautiful pink white yellow as ne an orange Crest simply an amazing bird and then I hand raised a brother and sister green wing macaws from. The time they were removed from the nest from our breeding wild pair of green wings I only wish I could still get a baby to hand raise it is absolutely amazing and I never thought Id fall in love with birds like I have I prefer them over some humans
Love this place! Came there yesterday and fell in love with the birds. Its great how you can walk in, sanitize your hands, and hold any bird you want! All the birds are very tame too! There was even a girl about 4 years old holding the cockatoos and conures! Amazing! I know we will be coming here a lot! Highly recommend!
Seeing all the birds out and happy is nice. It was a great experience. The outside back area was a mess though. A few food dishes scattered around. Unswept. Just dirty.Which is fine, but dont let customers back there when its like that. I tripped twice over scattered stuffDespite that, I loved the store and the employees were great.Thank you
This store is pretty cool there is birds everywhere as soon as you walk in. They range from average to pretty pricey, and have everything you need to start owning a bird. The staff was very knowledgable and helpfull about their birds. Some would say it is a little small and dirty though.
This is a Awesome place to get a friendly bird or to bring your kids and get a up close experience with some big birds. They have all kinds of birds from big, beautiful, and colorful parrots and love birds, to small parakeets and cockatoos that are all human friendly. None of the birds are in cages, theyre all out in the open on perches so be careful when bringing smaller children here cus the birds do get a lil defensive and will nip, but Theyre beaks are trimmed down and the wings are clipped. Other then that, this is a fantastic place to get hands on experience with some beautiful birds! 😀👍
We were very excited about visiting this place after reading the great reviews BUT we were greeted by a very very rude lady that should not even be running a business with the attitude she has, I wish I would’ve gotten her name but she knows who she is. It was my first time coming to this place so we were a little lost. We were trying to find the entrance and she comes out saying “Is there is reason you’re walking around my building?” (She probably felt threatened by us) Instead of asking if we needed any help like any normal/ PROFESSIONAL person would. We kindly told her we were looking for the entrance she goes “Well like most buildings the entrances are in front of the building” we said sorry that we’re going by what the signs said and she says “Can you read?” Sorry ma’am but you’re a grown women and the face of your store what makes you think talking to people like that is okay? Also you guys should change your hours of operation, we got there a little before 5:30 and she was telling us they were closing in 15 minutes when on your door it says 6pm. I felt rushed and really uncomfortable wasn’t even there for 2 minutes. Cute birds and all! But because of her I would give this place -5 stars.
I used to absolutely love this store, until today. i actually really like the staff, but then i met the owner DONT👏🏻 EVEN 👏🏻GET👏🏻 ME 👏🏻STARTED. just to begin, i bought a precious lil baby parakeet from here a few months ago, within about three weeks of owning him he just dropped dead. no signs of illness or injury, the birdie also acted completely normal not lethargic what so ever, seemed perfectly heathy (also we made sure to discard of any incense, candles, or nonstick pans). i didn’t have a problem with the store after this, it seemed unusual but pets do die so i didn’t want to blame it on the store i loved so much. however, today was absolutely horrifying, i entered the store just like any other time, i was with my mother. the cashier kindly acknowledged us like always, we proceeded to say hello to all the lil birdies and show them love and affection just like every other time. while i was petting dory all of a sudden i hear a REPULSIVE lady SCREAMING at my mom approaching her in a very aggressive way, i mean i literally thought she was about to throw hands thats how ridiculous this was🤭. she was yelling at my mom saying she was abusing the bird when she BARELY touched his lil head. i can understand being protective over your own pets and the birds you breed but this was UNACCEPTABLE behavior especially considering the circumstances. my mom replied very calmly stating that she barely touched him and apologized. a more appropriate way to handle this situation would be calmly approaching my mother and nicely asking her to please stop touching the birdie like that; instead she made a scene in front of everybody in the store making an absolute FOOL of herself. soon after my mother told me she was too uncomfortable to stay and i could stay a little longer then come to her car when i was ready to leave. the owner overheard her say this and when my mom is basically already out the door she says “GET OUT OF MY STORE YOU’RE NOT WELCOME HERE!!!!” i stayed for a few more minutes and i hear this PHSYCO lady talking negatively about my mom to OTHER CLIENTS i could tell they were even uncomfortable with what she was saying. she goes on about how her store isn’t a petting zoo when she literally has NO idea how much money we’ve spent there. after a few minutes i felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable i decided to leave. i don’t think ANYONE with this AWFUL of communication skills should own a business, too bad she’s the owner and can’t get fired i hope one day she comes to the understanding that her behavior is OUT OF HAND just so she can better herself. after she basically CHARGED at my mom like a bad high school football player we will DEFINITELY WITHOUT A DOUBT NEVER BE BACK HERE AGAIN (unless of course this excuse of a business owner disappears off the face of the earth☺️) of course, my mom left a review about this incident too, lori replies with “i have a video of you abusing my bird” LIKE UHM YEAH I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT THANK YOU GO AHEAD AND EXPOSE URSELF ACTING LIKE A IMMATURE IDIOT FOR NO REASON WHILE UR AT WORK LOLOLOL i wish i could leave 0 stars😐
I think they have very good prices in comparison to other stores. Great staff, place is a bit disorganized in regards to their set up so it kind of takes away from the experience but Im also a neat freak. I havent found many bird stores that are good with that part of it. Id recommend this store to others. They also offer 3rd party financing which is s great help if you dont want to come out of your pocket for everything at once.
I absolutely love this place! The customer service is through the roof. The knowledge they have is amazing. I love coming here and either selling or buying. If you love birds, or just like spending time with exotic birds and learning about them then this is the place for you
Visited this store for the first time and was shocked at the poor conditions these birds are living in. I am an experienced bird owner and would never buy a bird from this place. I saw many ill birds which was no surprise since all the water dishes looked like they hadnt been changed for days. Cages and living conditions were filthy. Please please clean up this place and give the birds clean water every day!!!
As an experienced bird owner, I was extremely excited to visit Birds N Paradise. I live in Menifee and thought how great it was to have such a well stocked bird shop nearby, with toys, cages, bird food and of course, a large variety of hand fed birds. The reviews on Yelp and Facebook had been overwhelmingly positive, so I brought my kids in to visit and to meet some of the birds.Being an experienced bird owner, any time I consider a new species, I research tirelessly on their temperament, nutritional needs, etc, before committing to a new animal friend. We know whats safe and what is not; including the toxicity of certain foods, candles, non-stick cookware, perfume, etc.We bought everything we needed to get started with two parakeets, including a black wire cage for two birds with a wire divider to keep them separated. The kids saved their money from chores and on Friday, 5/26/17, bought Sunshine, a beautiful light yellow and blue hand-fed parakeet; and Mango, a gorgeous green and black hand-fed parakeet with a yellow head with black stripes, and two small purple stripes under each eye. On Tuesday, 5/30/17, we awoke to find Sunshine dead on the bottom of the cage, though Mango still appeared fine. Sunshine did not have any trauma, marks of any kind to indicate injury, and no outward physical signs to indicate illness.I called Birds N Paradise and got the spiel about candles, and perfume, and non-stick pans; when I asked if they would replace the bird they asked me if I had taken it to be seen by an avian veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase, which I had not. They refused to replace the bird, or discount the purchase of a new one. Ok, I thought, it sucks but not a huge deal, it must be a fluke. After school, we took our daughter to pick out a new bird. She found Honey Lemon, a bright yellow hand-fed parakeet. We bought the bird for her and came home. Immediately upon walking into the house, we discovered Mango was dead. No wounds to indicate injury, no blood, no outward physical signs to indicate illness, and we were positive this one had been eating and drinking. Knowing the policy of the store, we didnt even bother to call. We threw out everything we bought from Birds N Paradise thinking the food might be the issue, or possibly even the toys. We bought new food at Petco, Zupreme brand which we know is a great brand having used it for years.Yesterday (6/6/17) afternoon, Honey Lemon died. Again, no wounds, no blood to indicate injury, no outward physical signs to indicate illness. We know this one would eat and drink, because we would watch to make sure. My wife called the store and got the exact same spiel I got regarding the non-stick pans, etc. Anytime she would speak, it seemed that they were disinterested and not listening, only waiting for her to stop talking so they could repeat the spiel of non-stick pans, etc, again. She knew they werent going to issue a refund or replacement, and wasnt trying for one, but called simply to tell them that there was an issue with some of the birds they were selling and to be on the lookout.I should also mention that my other bird, who has touched NOTHING from this store and did not come from this store, is doing perfectly fine. I am now a little concerned, however, as we did bring him in for grooming the day we bought Honey Lemon.I am throwing out the cage any anything left over that I bought from Birds N Paradise, and will be visiting other stores in the future, even it if means a much further drive. My kids especially have been devastated by this whole mess and the staff here didnt seem the least bit interested in resolving this matter. I only hope other families considering to purchase their feathered friends here, or their supplies, will see this review and avoid the heartbreak my family has experienced.---EDIT 1:00 PM 6/8/17 --The owner is now threatening to sue me over my negative review. See attached screen shots for the comment thread that took place over Facebook.
I wouldnt go anywhere else ! The staff is so knowledgable. I love my little sid he is a white eyed conure and the staff and the owner help me with every step of ownership of my baby any questions concerns they have always been patient and answered all my silly new mom of a cute bird questions i would give them 10 stars but they only had 5 Susan Annear
If I could give negative rating, I would. Our family visited this store last week and left a review on Facebook afterward. The staff didn’t acknowledge our entering or leaving the store. The woman near the front door wouldn’t look up from her phone. After leaving a review in Facebook, the owner said she would review her video to see who was working. (She doesn’t know her staff schedule?). Then, a week later, she responds and says she has video and audio of her staff talking to us. This is a flat out LIE. You can’t lie your way out of a negative review, Lori. And now I’m heated... so, you’ll get negative reviews wherever I can at this point. You could have been honest and fessed up to a lack of professional staff, and things would have been ok. Everybody deserves a second chance. But the lying, that proves to me that we made the right choice to leave your establishment and never look back. Our money will be spend with Our Feathered Friends in San Diego. Their staff was friendly and welcoming.Lori, you have my permission to share the video of your staff talking with my family. I know you don’t have one. Your staff didn’t talk to us. Period.
Its not the birds that Im rating one star its one of the women that work there. Im giving one of them one star because on November 11 2018, she yelled at me because she thought I was abusing the birds even though I was playing with them. She kicked us out even though my dad was telling her that I wasnt really abusing the bird. P.S: the bird was a yellow naped amazon.
Although this place seems a bit odd you can find some very great things here such as fantastic tropical birds perched out in the open as well as the absolute best food anywhere around for birds I go there for a very specific parrot mix that I cannot find anywhere else 😀
I called and asked if someone would be there to trim the wings/nails/beak of my darling birdy. They said yes, and I drove for 2 and a half hours to get my birdy and get over there. I arrived about an hour and a half before closing.I was met with, She left half an hour ago. You could try again tomorrow, but call ahead first. Very annoying.
I’ve purchase a bird from here I felt in love with hem and change my entire home got rid of my candles and good smells just for my baby to be healthy he just died 😭 he had a heart attack I would feed hem fresh vegetables and fruits and seeds that they sale here but I don’t know what happened he didn’t last that long we got hem on January 17 2019 it just sucks im never buying another bird
Its a LONG, long very long painful, emotional drama. Dont even know how to put it in words without crying. Dont know who to turn to.or what to do.? I asked God to be my guide. Could this be His way?..May be this IS...how He is doing it. I need HELP. Who will be reading THIS.? Who will care to listen? Can l share THIS story? If Ill know,...it will be easier for me to be the VOICE for the voiceless. But, how? Those VOICES may not be important in THIS preoccupied, buzzy world. Yet,..I is l hear them every moment. l feel them in my heart... each time l think of them. I LOVE THEM. I am Would anyone truly wish to know of those little VOICES.?...Then, please let me know. I will be greatful to speak for them💝 THANK YOU.❣

2021-07-31It was our, my wifey & I, first time stopping by at Birds N Paradise and we were thoroughly impressed. Lots of beautiful exotic parrots 🦜 and all the necessary items for the parrots including on-site nursery. Because of all the parrots to admire and pet, I didnt have a chance to speak with any employee and/or owner of the local. But I did see a lady speaking with other customers, answering all their questions. Lord willing, we will definitely be returning in the near future and make a decision on which to purchase.

2022-07-08Its a family run business, a bit crowded, but the birds are so healthy and happy, you overlook the little stuff. Their prices seem steep, but you get what you pay for, and Ive been told their prices are the best around for hand-raised birds. You can certainly tell the animals are loved and cherished! These are the happiest, friendliest birds Ive ever seen in a pet store.

2022-03-21Wow! This place was a huge surprise! Driving by it doesn’t look like anything special but it’s wonderful inside! All the birds are very social and are so much fun to watch! They look so happy! We were encouraged to hold and pet the birds! Also, this place was clean for a bird store! Lots of supplies! It was great!

2022-02-06First of all - I really like the store. They have lots of birds to look at and handle, and so many affordable essentials. But I do have to say, running such a store is stressful since all the birds are in one room, loose. The birds have been handled improperly over time by customers who don’t really know what they’re doing, and as a result they are phobic and aggressive. Kids grab them and adults force them to step up so they think they have to “intercept” the hand before it can harm them. The staff in a rush I could see simply grabbing birds that escaped their tanks or stands instead of carefully coaxing them on, as they could. And, when inexperienced people picked up birds, the birds started “playing” with them and didn’t want to leave them… so the staff had to loudly order the bird to step down in order for them to get off, almost yelling.Honestly I think the store and birds would be much improved if the staff informed the customers on how to handle a parrot humanely and promote good behavior. You never force a bird to step up or down, you simply offer your hand at a safe distance. If the bird is interested in spending time with you, it should reach out with its foot, and then you can allow it to step on. Most of the birds shouldn’t be allowed on the shoulders as they’re hard to get off…What they could do is supply treats that the birds love, so the customers can coax the birds back onto the perches with the treats! Never force a bird to do anything. Ask and if they say no you leave them alone! And maybe… get some better thanks for the babies… then they’ll have less escapes and then they won’t be grabbed so then they won’t be so human and hand phobic and then they’ll be bought more and then everyone profits!! Birds in small stores, neglected and left in cages, are more easily tamed.I understand that it’s exhausting to work with parrots all day, and I’m sorry it is that way. Truly.Thank you so much for reading my very opinionated comment!!

2022-06-22My mother went to get her birds wings clipped and beak shaved and he kept falling over and hurting his wings because she cut them too short. Her birds wings look awful and uneven!!! She did the beak good but never going over there again for his wings.

2022-01-11Great store! Ive been to too many pet stores with birds for sale to count. Walking into this store is a one of a kind experience. All birds are hatched & raised by the owner, she keeps an orderly display of a wide variety of hookbills ranging from parakeets to cocktails to cockatoos, Amazons ring necks, African Greys to macaws, she does grooming, boarding & is hands-on with all aspects of her business. I highly recommend paying her a visit whatever your Avion needs. 1-10 ....a strong 9.9 only because a perfect 10 is never possible!
