Had a blowout on my tire Friday after closing, called Saturday morning and spoke with Madi whom was extremely delightful and showed a willingness to help. When I showed up with no appointment they looked pretty busy I was afraid it could take a while. It did not, car was in and out quickly, they put my spare away correctly and my car was as clean as it was when I left it. I have worked with the dude that works the front desk too but cant recall his name, both are helpful and will take the time to answer any questions you have.If you look at my other reviews, I have been to every tire place in town, Independent and corporate, Big O has won my business from here forward, no more jumping around to try and save $10.
We got a flat just down the road while cruising to Joshua Tree - ended up thunking along the main drag and found these guys. Tommy was the only one there because of how early it was, but he was incredibly friendly and assured us that once his coworkers rolled in at opening time we would get all fixed up. He and a coworker put our spare on (it was a rental) and patched us up. They were incredibly fast, kind, and efficient. Thank you so much to them for their help and genuine kindness!!!
Awesome sales rep Sandy, from phone call to service write , till point of sale! Handled every customer with enthusiasm and quoted and handled desk like a pro! I waited 4 hours. Bay times were a bit excessive . ....... But I want to Thank Sandy! I really appreciate Big O for having what I needed to keep my car on the road! The price was unbeatable! Thanks a million!!!
Got a flat tire on my rental car. The guys here are super knowledgable, speedy and professional. Would highly recommend coming here first for any tire concerns. I had stopped by Walmart initially and the mechanic there tried to up charge me and also didn’t have the tire I needed in stock.
This is the only tire shop that I will go to in Yucca Valley. I go here a couple times of year just for tire rotation and oil changes and when I need tires they are the best! They always give fair prices, do quality work, and dont try to hide anything. Theyre also honest about estimates and dont try to have you do work thats not needed. Ive had them tell me more times than not of work that I dont need instead of trying to have me do extra work just to get some extra money.
If you want to get your family home safely every night, don’t go here. I got my brakes done here last weekend. Yesterday my boyfriend and I were driving on the 215 going 80 (luckily in the slow lane) when my car started shaking and thudding and it felt like the bottom of my car was falling down. We got over to the side of the road where we were just trying to figure out what was going on and my car locked completely, we couldn’t go forward. I was stuck on the side of the freeway for half an hour. We then had the car towed to a different mechanic (we were no where near home) and he proceeded to show me where the Big O “mechanic” chose to put the bolts in so loose that one fell out completely while the other could be unscrewed with the mechanic’s fingers. After getting my car fixed I visited Big O for a refund where I was told “the mechanic is great. People make mistakes” by the manager. So obviously Big O has no concern about people’s lives with that type of recklessness. I should not have to double check my car after leaving a mechanic to make sure that they actually tightened everything. Then to top it off I was told that the owner will refund me for the work originally done but refuses to pay for the extra work I had to pay for yesterday to get my car fixed from their careless mistakes. So not only could I have gotten into an accident from their negligence but I also had to pay for it. If I could give them negative stars I would. Now I have to fight to get my money back and I was basically told I have no reason to be upset. Completely unforgivable.
Such friendly staff and I mean everyone. Such a great experience. Very knowledgeable. Theyre all about service even if its directing you to someone else. I highly recommend this location. 3 different people helped me: (wish I remembered their names) nice gal at the front desk and 2 techs Jose and ? very helpful and explained things to me so I understood what my options were.
DO NOT GO HERE !!! unless you can leave your car for at least 2 days... Went in the mid morning for a simple front wheel alignment... was told a couple of hours... They did not even start working on my vehicle until after they closed the business 8 hours later... AVOID THIS PLACE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE....
Worst Big O Tires.. I waited hours and they werent able to fix the problem. I will drive the extra 40 mins to Cathedral City Big O Tires were I originally purchased my tires. The customer service and work at Cathedral City Big O Tires is great. I felt like my service needed at Yucca Valley Big O Tires was a bother to them.
Great honest service. Had been having alignment issues with my 2014 SUV since new ,but they were able to get it almost perfect again before I ruined my second set of tires. Unlike the Kia dealership I purchased it from. They (Kia) just kept giving my stories of there was nothing that could be done ?My car drives like new again thanks to this shop.I would highly recommended them.
Ive been going to this Big O tires location for the past 3 years and Ive been more than satisfied every time I need something worked on. The staff there are incredibly helpful, and informative. They take me into the maintenance bay every time and show me what it is that needs to be fixed and always answer all my questions. They have saved me countless amounts of money. The only people in the area I trust to work on my vehicle. They go the extra mile often and fix things that I didnt even ask to have fixed for no extra cost. Incredible customer service.
Sandy and Paul run a tight shop!! In my 5 years in the high desert, they are my trusted and go-to place for my beloved Jeep Wrangler. They keep me honest with my maintenance and help me anticipate next big ticket items such as brake or tire replacement.Their professionalism, expert work, flexibility, and great advice are reasons I am a dedicated customer. They answer my questions when I ask for more information about a product or issue with the Jeep so I can learn more about how to maintain it. Always trying to help the customer, they also allow walk ins and do their best to get to you. Of course, you have to have the time to wait for your turn, but they won’t tell you they have time if they don’t have time. Long waits honestly to me mean I’m at the most desired tire shop in the area. When I don’t have an appointment I just walk over to Starbucks to read and relax.I’m anticipating moving this summer and I only hope that there is a shop as good as this one wherever I go next. Thank you, BigO Yucca Valley for everything over the past several years and making me proud to be a regular somewhere. I look forward to purchasing another set of tires from you this weekend- the last ones gave me 70,000 miles and adventures all over the desert. I can’t wait to see where the next 70,000 miles take me.I don’t review many places because I only want to spot out the best of the best or the worst of the worst. This is the best of the best. Highly recommended, enthusiastically even.PS Not to call her out, but I appreciate Sandy’s spunk! I’m comfortable knowing she’s managing the service of my Jeep because I know it’ll be done right the first time.
My husband and I are leasing a 2015 Charger R/T. The lease ends in July and we were required to put new tires on it prior to turning it back in. Big O Tires worked with us to find the right tires, at the most affordable price (this was especially important because we didnt want to put a ton of money into the tires since we were never going to use them!). They fit us in on a Friday, and out appointment lasted roughly 3 hours. The woman (Sandy?) was incredible knowledgeable and kind. She answered all of my questions, and helped me apply for a Big O Tires credit card, so that I could finance the cost of the tires (0% APR for 6 months, in case youre interested!). We also got a $50 rebate. We will definitely be going back and recommend them to anyone looking for new tires, or just maintenance on their vehicle!
The staff is very helpful, the prices are competitive, the waiting area is comfortable, but none of this matters if you need to patch a flat and have to wait 5.5 hours for it. This wss not a one time experience, it is a trend that has grown increasingly frustrating. I vowed not to return even though I have) a tire warranty there and would pay nothing to get a flat patched. It just isnt worth it.
The customer service, and prices compared to the rest of town are way better here. they werent rushed to kick everyone out during closing time. they were able to give me the information and estimate i asked for and i didnt get any lip like the other similar local business. with limited locations to go to, this location is on top of my list to go to. All my future oil changes, tire services, and all other services and tune ups will start here. my wife and I are very pleased.
Great people that know the business and really want to help you get the best product for your vehicle. I was bummed out that I couldnt get the tire i originally wanted, but the employee was more then happy to order it. Unfortunately I needed four new tires that day. So he brought up a great list of well match prices that were as equal to the tire I was looking for. I left there with four beautiful Good Year tires at a killer price. It was the 5th tire shop I went to that day in Yucca Valley, and was glad I shopped around.
Took my vehicle in to get tires balanced at 9am on Saturday.....3PM I called to check and nothing had been done.kid at the counter was extremely argumentative and made excuses. 3 people ahead of me at 9am and at 3pm the same excuse. They train kids for 8 hours and they try and call themselves tire guys? Poor service and wasted my time. Will be going to a place where people arent lazy and want business. I dont think the kid had moved from his barstool ALL DAY! get out and bang out work dude!
Sandy at the front desk was so friendly and genuine. She was handling 5-10 different customers and their various issues and had a big smile and positive tone the entire time. They attended to my flat tire in a reasonable amount of time, but I was definitely most impressed with Sandy. They are lucky to have her.
I have used this location several times. I am impressed with the coupons and the price on tires and oil changes but disappointed in the wait time. Two separate times, I have waited too long for a simple oil change. The first time, I had an appointment and waited 2-3 hours. The second time, I did a drop in at 9am, and told I would wait 3 hours, it was 1:30pm and my car was not serviced. I will not be returning for oil changes.
Friendly staff with good deals each month. The building is clean with a nice waiting room, seats, and TV. Service is good but they are usually very busy. It is best to call ahead and set an appointment up prior to coming by. If you are a walk-in you must be there before they open or there is no way you will get seen that day. Walk-in waits can be 2 to 3 hours long.
Thank you for saving our trip by repairing our tier. We stopped by because our rental car was loosing air. The team fixed it super quick with no problems at all even it was already late and short before closing time.Stopping here if you have something that needs to be done is highly recommendedThanks Paul and team
Best tire shop in the valley. Always very helpful over the phone and in person. Front office remembers your even if you havent been in in months. Have the best prices by far on instalation and everytime i have gone have only had to wait a day for tires to be shipped in.
So slow at working...i just got here to get a free flat fix and they told me itd be 3 and a half hours...need to get faster workers back there or hire more. 1 star for the friendly service only. Never coming again sorry. Hire more people to get jobs done faster. Dont be stingy just to not pay extra workers. Better, faster work= more customers, less complaints. Finished barely total wait time was 6 hours for a single tire to get patched..lost a loyal customer or two today.
This is the slowest provider ever! I was told 11/2 hrs to fix my flat tire... Now waiting 21/2 hrs and truck in lot with a total flat. Been told Im next (that was 30 min ago)! Why didnt I have AAA change my tire in the lot and take flat elsewhere! The final time....3 hrs and 45 min. I watched allot of visiting by employees... Maybe could have saved 2 hrs?
I went in on a Tuesday shortly after Big O opened at 8am. Brought in one of your special oil change coupons. Sandy was pleasant. Told her what I needed and gave the coupon. But not once did she say that its a busy day with appointments! So I waited, not knowing how long of a wait it was to be. At one point I asked Paul how much longer and his reply yours is second in line. Of course I asked whats taking so long. He said appointments were first. No One Ever Mentioned there were so many appointments before me. Needless to say I was there for FOUR hours! No one ever came over to apologize for the delay and/or long wait time. And then when my vehicle was finally ready, Paul asked if I wanted the reminder sticker for the windshield. I told him NO because I wont be back to Big O again. And guess what? He didnt ask why or still didnt offer an apology. So disappointing because I truly believe in supporting our local business. But not if business is conducted this way.
I was told to come in at 0800 so i could be in and out. That didnt happen........ I left after sitting 1 1/2 hour with nobody in the lobby. I got there when it was two cars in the bay. I left with 3 cars in the bay and folks standing around. I was told by others to not go there but I didnt listen. A wasted 1 1/2 hour on lobby talk. I only gave 1 star because you had to so you can open it up to complain. American tire depot in and out in a half hour with 4 brand new tires.
Wish I could give them a zero because they sell cheap poorly made tires all they want to do is suck your money out of you. My dad bought a set of tires for his truck that where 50,000 mile tires. Well 24,000 miles in they are down to the wear bar he followed every recommendation they gave alignment, rotation etc. Never hauled any heavy loads and now there basically trash and they want to give him a couple dollar discount what a joke. You just lost a customer idiots. Then you read threw the reviews and the owner Tom only really responds to good reviews. Need to make a law or ordinance against thieves like them.
My little sister went for an alignment a few hours ago. Once the work was done, she left and as she proceeded to get on the highway, she said the car started shaking and then the front left wheel flew off.She stomped on the brakes and veered off the road, missing a power pole by 2 feet, while going 35 MPH. She called the shop, and they dispatched a driver to come pick her up.After half an hour, this person named John Hughes (whole claimed to be the lead floor mechanic) told her that initial repairs to the wheel assembly have been made, and that hell put a spare tire on for her. He tells her the car is mechanically safe to drive and to come back in a few days to complete the rest of the repairs. When my sister told me this, I gave Mr. Hughes a call to discuss his proposed solution. When I asked him who conducts their Quality Assurance and Quality Control, he stated I do it. And Ive been doing this for 18 years.... I then responded, so, how could you have allowed my sister to drive off and potentially harm herself and others?. His response was, oh well, everyone makes mistakes. Im done talking to you.The complacency and gross negligence demonstrated by this person is downright appalling. I cannot fathom how a national company cannot instill the values of customer service, dependability, quality, and safety, across their franchises. After being hung up on, I called the corporate customer relations to file a complaint. The sweet lady on the phone, explained that they only had 1 person who was capable of taking my complaint. Just one. For a national company.Big O Tires. The team you trust. I think the company should consider rebranding and altering their slogan, after dealing with John Hughes.******BIG O TIRES. Where mistakes happen, quality is optional, customer service is non-existent, and customer safety is an afterthought.******
We had a tire blowout on our RV and the manager Sandy took the time to get us in for a tire replacement on short notice. The technician who changed the tire was awesome and took the time to ensure all the other tires looked good and also had the correct tire pressure.
We ended up hear on a Saturday afternoon because our friends car started making a horrible noise. It ended up being an issue with the A/C and its pulley, and this place was the only mechanic open in the area.We showed up and the mechanics looked everything over, diagnosed the problem, but then we were told the A/C guy who could fix it had left early. The manager, a woman named Sandy, was INCREDIBLY RUDE. We asked if there was any way we could pay a higher fee for the guy to come back and fix it. She said no and added that no one is a good person in California. Apparently she was referring to herself as well. We then asked if there was any other mechanic that was open in the area. She immediately said no. Luckily, her mechanics were all very nice and took more than half of a second to think about it. They ended up telling us about a Big O Tires in Desert Hot Springs which stayed open later. We took our car there and they fixed everything, even though they had to stay past 7pm on a Saturday. Go there instead if you want a nice manager who cares about customer service!
I have been going here ever since I moved to the area and I keep going back because there prices are fair and there service is fantastic. They really make me feel like they want to do a great job and make me happy. Sandy is great as well as paul and the rest of the team. I highly recommend this place! You wont be disappointed..
I am very disappointed in this business. I went in last Saturday at 4:40. I got a flat leaving my house. I was getting ready to travel to another state with my child. I went to Big Os to either have tire patched or put a new one on. Whatever they had to do to make my trip safe. Paul in the office told me they couldnt patch my tire or put a new one on because they were closing. It was fifteen till 5 at this point of which I was trying to explain I desperately needed this fixed. He shrugged his shoulders and told me I would have to come back another day. I then went to another tire company they put a new tire on my vehicle and they closed at five as well. It was the worst experience Ive ever had at Big Os tires. I was treated like dirt. It was very embarrassing and degrading. I will never go to any Big Os tire again and Ive made all family and friends aware of this awful service. I wish I could give them a zero!!
Red head behind counter was exceptionally rude to everyone. Let someone cut in front of us and when we polightly corrected her the receptionist refused to let us go ahead so after waiting another 10 minutes when it was our turn she argued me trying to convince me it was my fault she didn’t know we were in line next. Even though she pointed to us before the other lady cut and said she’d be right with us. Still continued to argue until I had to be the one to cut her off and ask her if we could just focus on my vehicle . Then she quoted me a couple hours and when I clarified 2 hours? She rudely repeated “couple hours”. We saw ourselves out.
Went here for a tire leak on a tire with 17000 miles on it. Was told by customer service tire was repaired and had a puncture within the tread. Next day while at home I found my tire was still flat when going to use my truck. Went to different tire store not affiliated with Big O and found out I had a substantial puncture on the side of my tire as well that was so bad the new tire store could not legally put the tire back on. I had gone strait home from the original repair at Big O leaving no room for a new puncture to have appeared overnight; meaning they had missed a serious potential hazard. Had I continued to use this tire which was front right I may have blown out and who knows what could have happened had I actually gone on a highway. Big O also took 2 hours for the original repair where as the other store I had used in Victorville caught the actual hazard within 10 minutes.I also asked for a quote on new tires and was told I would be called tomorrow; I have still not received a call and the original base line quote from Big O was $800.00 more than the same quote for same tires and wheels from my new store I will be going to.I get the long hours sometimes there are a lot of customers but when it comes to a potential hazard like I had described it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I have used Big O for Tires and some Maintenance type Mechanical Services for over 25 years. In general , they have been competitively priced and when required , through a large network of stores available to stand behind and fix problems !A little over a year ago I was planning to take 2 trips of about 4000 miles each.I had moved full time to the area 7 years ago & had worked with John at Big O several times on 4 vehicles over the years and did the same preparing for my trip.Big O and John did about $ 2,500 of Parts & Labor to my car over a couple of visits .When discussing the Repairs and PartsJohn and I agreed that the Parts would be OEM Equivalent or better so that we would not need to have this discussion a year from now !The work performed was Outstanding and on Time .In July of this year , about 13 months & 12,000 miles after their Replacement I noticed the Upper Strut Mounts which had been Replaced were Deteriorating .The Originals which had come on the Car New were replaced and were 13 Years Old with about 135,000 miles on them !About 3 weeks ago I went in to see John and discuss the Failing Parts !John was no longer at Big O so I talked to Sandy .She told me the Parts were outside the Warranty and that there was nothing they could do and that She didn think the cracks were that bad. I asked for Tom , the Owner and she said he was out for awhile and would be back later and she would have him call me.He did not call!Over the next few days I called a couple of times and stopped atthe Store 2 More times with no luck !This morning I finally talked to Tom .His answer was , he would Eat the Parts Cost and that I would pay $ 200 for labor because he doesnt make the faulty Parts !This 100℅ BS as NAPA locally and at Corporate both know the Parts should not be FAILING In this short time and mileage.Tom and Big O have the Purchasing Power and Responsibilitie to Assure Quality Parts are procured for the Customer , Particularly When Asked For and Paid for !!! 😎PS, 2 other Local Shops have since agreed the Parts should not be FAILING and have given me Competitive Labor only Quotes ! 😀
I was in a desperate situation 100 miles from home with a flat tire. Although I cant prove it , I was told they only had one tire in stock that will fit my truck for $300.The worst part was when I went in the garage to see my bad tire , the employees were listening to some sort of death rock, basically a guy screaming , FYOU, FYOU . One of the mechanics was actually singing along. I dont think thats professional.Ive learned that the tire is odd size and the cost i paid with mounting is correct.I jumped the gun and I’m giving a better rating. Also Tom, you were in the garage when the music was on and it was loud.So other than the satanic music, and Tom denying he heard it, the place was clean and nice .
Big o has amazing sales people that convinced me i was getting a great deal on my tires the were so friendly i didnt see why i shouldnt trust them. lesson learned friendly people can be con artist. i payed way way too much money for my tires i was ripped off and when i went back in for a patch job due to a naill in my new tire i found out that i was not covered on my warrenty.......... i have since done some research and found a new tire store i highly reccomend TirePros of yucca valley tell them summer sent you i now go there for all my basic car needs
The two time I’ve taken my car there they never fully complete the job. I drop the car off right as they open and somehow or another they always have to keep the car over night and they reall Hight priced I had another shop price what I need done there it was 400$ cheaper. WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS TRASH TIRE SHOP!!!!!
The young man Jacob that serviced our vehicle was wonderful and soooo very respectful, kind, helpful and just perfect. This young man deserves a raise and a promotion and a paid vacation.Or even I would invest in this emloyee 💯% I see potential for this young man.The future looks kinder because of is kindness.
My daughter and boyfriend bought tires with protection plan they had a blowout they took the tire back to them tried making them pay extra 40 to mount tire on rim that is part of the plan they paid for my daughter said no to extra charge and now they said they are no longer allowing them to have their protection and not going to refund them the money I cant believe how they could do business like that not professional at all and trying to take advantage of young couples during Christmas time dont go there
If there is 0, I will give it 0 points. Originally, my car had only one problem. I started to change one without problems. In the end, I changed three places and broke my air conditioner. I checked the air conditioner and received 90. Completed for 2 days in a row! Really bad

2022-07-06They shouldve gotten 5 stars, and I wouldve given it gladly, but after leaving on my road trip I realized my valve stem cap that was special ordered was not given to me. Looks like I now have to order 4 new valve stem caps for my rims to replace just one they kept. So bummed. Other than that, they didnt even charge me to try to repair a tire and it couldnt be repaired, so they put my spare on and I didnt pay a thing. Good policies, good staff. They just didnt give me my custom cap back.*UPDATE*They have purchased a whole new set of caps and are sending them. What a great store. Dont look any further than Big O in Joshua Tree.

2022-02-16Went to get a spare tire. I was charged $37.50 for road hazard but never asked for it and never was asked if I wanted it. The tire price was $241 and the total came up to $340. I asked the salesperson why was the extra charges so much. His reply was mounting, balance, disposal, taxes, fees...blah blah blah.I was in a rush and trusted there was nothing extra on the charge. I checked the receipt soon as I got home and seen the extra $37.50 for road hazard.I have a very strong policy to not by insurance on most of my purchases. I am very money conservative and would never agreed to the road hazard warranty. I was not ask or told about this extra charge. I am not sure if a commission is given to the salesperson for selling the warranty but whatever, This is UNACCEPTABLE!.The owner did apologize and gave me the refund. My concerns are seniors or anyone not paying attention getting taking advantage of. I will not trust or be given my money to any Big O Tires ever again.

2019-12-22First, I showed up 45 minutes before closing and the office manager spoke to me like I was an over demanding rude customer. A kind and simple Im terribly sorry, but I cant take in new customers this late in the day. We can get to you first thing in the morning, tho! would have been much better than the rude and frantic way she spoke to me. So first thing in the morning I went in and was told that once they finished with their appointments they would get right to me. TWO HOURS later they got to me. THREE HOURS later they were finally done putting on 3 new tires. My suggestion is make an appointment days in advance and just leave it with them.

2022-01-29Jesse and Joe are amazing! Not only did they check my tire pressure and top them off, but they took time to talk with me about a noise my vehicle has been making for almost a year. I have had a few people listen and check the most obvious things like belts, hoses, loose caps etc. but no one had been able to pinpoint the cause of the rattle. Joe recognized it right away. I pulled up a YouTube video and he was right on! I just needed an initial diagnosis to research. This is true customer service! There was absolutely no payoff for them, yet they were happy to offer knowledge and genuine help.Thank you Jesse and Joe!

2021-12-15The real deal. I mount and balance my own tires at home. Too lazy to do 4 new A/T tires on a new car. Took it here from a reputable recommendation. Bottom line, they did it right. No BS. I told them to skip the free alignment check and they crossed it off without hassle.New tires were balanced perfectly and the wheel is straight. in the waiting room I listened to the woman on the phone to see if she was BSing customers... she was not... she was fair and nice. These guys are being honest and doing the right thing.. i hope they keep this up... if they do business will never be a problem for them.

2018-04-11This is my second experience of being a customer at this location. I had a set of four tires mounted and balanced on my 2013 Traverse previously and despite being further away than other shops, I enjoyed my experience and decided to get another set of four tires installed on my 2009 Pontiac G8.Im very particular with my vehicles, so I took pictures of all four rims before I brought it in, on the off chance there was any damage. I noticed a scratch on one rim the day I had the tires installed, and noticed damage on two other rims after detailing my vehicle. I spoke with Tom Huls, the owner, about the issue and he stated that technically theyre not held responsible for damaged rims, which is in fact stated on the invoice. This is information that I honestly had not noticed upon signing. He denied possibility of the shop damaging the rims, but wrote me a check for the partial total of the service, which was fair.My word of advice: if you are particular about your vehicle, be warned that if a technician damages your rims, technically they are not responsible for the damage. If you just need some tires installed and go, it is not a bad place to do business.
