Only real mall in area. Closes way to early for my taste but I understand considering all the riff raff that hangs around that general area. The mall cops that drive around in circles with flashing orange lights are quite annoying and can be a little bit overprotective. They like to snoop on people if they are sitting in their cars after arriving even if they are doing nothing wrong. Classic Mall cops. The constant flashing orange lights are a bit to much.
Nice, quiet place to shop. They have a selection of stores and a great food court too!! Its nice to see a mall that reminds me of my teen years where my friends and I would hang out at Sunrise Mall in Sacramento in the 1980s, fun times. The only thing missing is a movie theater and an game arcade for kids!!
There is barely any stores left. The mall should have fixed the roof and repaired the mall themselves instead of trying to get the stores to do it out of their pockets and they wouldnt have lost so many businesses. There are so many new fast food chains poppin up around this area. Something needs to change quick or the mall will just be an eye sore and a past memory like so many other business in Eureka! Update 4-17-2022 it was raining super hard, buckets everywhere from the leaks in the roof! I can not believe it has been this long and that still has not been fixed. If it wasnt for the cool local shops, T.J. Max, Maurices, and Ross I would have no desire to shop here anymore.
Nice little Mall. Has walmart, Ross and Verizon shop. Did some shopping at Ross then visited the Verizon store. The ladies in Verizon were very helpful. I was running low on data and was traveling from Idaho. Made some adjustments to my plan. Set me up on automatic payments and my bill was lower and unlimited data. Thank you ladies!!!!
Our poor dying mall of Humboldt is nothing special you may find one thing or two that are not completely over priced that is if you dont accidentally wander into the ghost corners of forgotten vacant spaces other than that you will find bottom of the barrel outlets with overpriced merchandise not all of the stores are a complete miss so good luck finding that hidden gem there are a few of them out there
So many emptey store and one end of the mall is complearly emptey. News said the owners just walked away and the bank has it. Not sure if if it would be a bad or good thing to see it close. The Mom and Pops stores would be ok with that. Wallmat is in there so that could be a issue.
I took my 2 year old granddaughter to walk around the mall and ride some of the stationary rides-fire engine, Bob the Builder, race car, space ship and more. During the COVID-19 pandemic some stores are discontinued. But theres Walmart, Ross for Less, TJ Max, Bed Bath and Beyond, Kohls and more.
Its like a deserted business community, a lot of stores are out of business gone no signs of returning. Its sad 😭 two years ago the mall was a crowd of people, everyday now half Ghost town COVID-19 is no joke most people with underlying illnesses going to continue dieing at alarming rates. Wearing the masks do it.
Covid affects my review. I love Walmart but when I ride the bus, it is necessary to walk a long way around the entire mall, it is very convenient for seniors and disabled persons like me to be able to have access to the mall connection door. Without the mall door, its a long walk..However, I saw an employee collecting carts and 2 other employees sanitizing them. God bless them for their kind acts of above and beyond care.
Went to DMV. They have become efficient & organized. They make sure everyone is 6 feet apart, then you go up to the window & youre 2 feet away from the person next to you at the next window. Violating Dept. of Health rules! They dont tell you everything you need then tell you to bring your social security card & you dont need that. They lie & say theres no further charges, then you go back & get charged an additional amount of money. Its no wonder people hate them. I dont hate them, but they do suck!
It was once a groovy mall but now has a lot of empty spaces as is the story with most malls today. I guarantee though with an added few more stores in the vacant lots, such as a Burlington in the Sears wing, an American Eagle, HollisterCo., And a few more places to eat in the dining area could make it much better. Not so much groovy anymore, but clothes for those left of us who cant stand shopping online and like to see items up close.
Its is a nice place to go just got my nails done there yesterday they look amazing the mall is 5 star the employee s are nice im.gave 5 star cause I personally like the santa rosa mall better but for how it is I like it especially the pretzel and cookies the have so good!♡!
I gave it five stars because I Bank their Coast Central Credit Union so I should say the five stars goes to Coast Central Credit Union everybody there is wonderful and so friendly and so helpful. Thank you and have a wonderful day and thank you Coast Central Credit Union
Poor Eureka, we are losing so many large retail stores I wonder where I’ll be shopping soon!I love our little mall, but now sears is leaving too.😔 there are nice small shops but their prices are usually higher, also where will I be able to buy tools, a lawnmower, clothes with great sales when it’s gone. But...the mall itself is always so clean, with a lot of space to walk in. I do love strolling through it viewing the small stores, and kohl’s, of course, pricier although they have some good sales too. There is a small Walmart but it’s pretty limited with clothes. There is always parking and well lit areas outside. Fast food court so no fancy restaurant . It’s not always a place you can find what you need - pretty limited these days, the Kmart north of there is much more successful with items I need, I hope we don’t lose that someday!
I went for a DMV appointment here and it was fast, friendly and efficient. The mall has a-lot of shopping choices including a food court. I have eaten at a few and some are really good and some not so much. I am not going to go into much depth because the consistency has varied depending on who is working. I do my taxes here too which makes it handy too. Give it a try....it is hard to go wrong.
This mall has more closed stores then open ones. It was very drab and run down with only 2 restaurants still open in their food court. The parking lot was filthy, with people walking around blatantly looking in peoples car windows. The inside is the same. This entire place has not been kept up and now it just looks like its falling apart. Avoid if all possible.
There are alot if empty retail spaces in the mall. But the bigger places like Walmart, Ross, etc are there. And the DMV is there now too. Its pretty convenient as its located just inside the front entrance. The service at this DMV is quicker than It was at the prior location also.
Technically its the only real mall we have. I am sorry locals Henderson and Eureka malls are not malls. So, back to Bayshore Mall. I have seen better and I have seen worse. And like all malls today you always have trouble makers and homelessness. So, I do not mark them down for that, and I do not mark them down for how individuals store owners are, but what I hear from store owners both present and no longer present over the past 12 years is that the mall has seen better days. My own experiences with mall staff i.e. cleaning, office and security is that they all need to work on their customer service skills. Something that may be lacking across American malls. To this day, I always give an extra star for malls that either have sit down restaurant or movie house both of which this mall used to have. Also suggest bring back some old fast food places the mall used to have. Nevertheless, if you are going to charge an arm and a leg for space rent and not give stores and food court shops like in more popular malls then I will go to other places to shop and do business. My question would be how are your profits? Because from what I see business seems to be off. No I am not nor have I ever been a mall store owner or general owner of a store.
Very clean mall, especially for how large it was. Great selection, and its pretty much entirely enclosed. Could use a bit larger selection at the food court. Other than that Id say its one of the best malls north of San Francisco. Oh and parking was not at all an issue.
This mall leaves a bit to be desired. If you are from a big city you will probably laugh, but it is what we have and has several stores we are thankful are there. If you like walking when the weather is bad they open their doors early and you can meet several other like minded people.
I was a little apprehensive about this strip mall at first but pleasantly surprised once we entered the mall. Wow! Lots of stores to shop and places to eat. Location is convenient. We shopped quite a few stores. Prices were reasonable. Will visit again. Recommend this mall. They even have Wal-Mart.
This place has changed a lot over the years. It was constructed back in 1988 and I worked in a movie theater off the food court which no longer exists. Lots of stores have come and gone. Its nice that they have acquired a Walmart. Some larger chain stores have moved in and the malls overall footprint has grown. Lots of different places to shop. I do miss the theater though. Anyway, there a something for everybody to get their shopping needs done.
Very small Mall but atmosphere is nice, not a lot to choose from, but you will enjoy shopping there. Security is alert and keep on top of things, which is a plus. Food court does not have a lot to choose from, seating area has a view outside. Bottom line, you could enjoy a day at the mall. One star was taken away only because you do not have a lot to choose from.
I was looking for Walmart, went where their name was on outside of the front of the mall only to find it on the opposite side and the entrance was not opened from the mall, had to walk all the way back out and around the other side, a little inconvenient, but all worked out, everyone at walmart was very nice and helpful!
The mall was struggling to stay open, lots of businesses left or went out of business. Walmart saved the mall and clean it up but there’s still a lot of empty stores. The Security look and act like cops now. It’s a good place to go when it’s raining and you need to get out of the house and walk around. Bummed that the ice cream/coffee shops closed.
The only mall in humboldt county with little to no variety. I will have to come here to pay my phone bill at MetroPCS if Im paying in cash...also, the ONLY Wal-Mart is in this mall which kinda sucks. I dislike that I have to travel so far from campus to get my necessities.
This is a great place to find almost anything that I need, since Bayshore Mall has a lot of businesses to choose from. It is especially great to shop there when it is raining, because I can access stores inside and stay dry. Ive been shopping at Bayshore Mall ever since it first opened.
If you have no sense of direction (like me) you might get turned around easily in the mall. Its a great place to spend way more money than you mean to (I know from experience.) But beware the parking lots at night, especially the side ones, tweakers are dangerous and abundant.
This place has been going downhill for a long time. Taking out the playground only made it have even less reason to visit, not more. Half the shops are closed, and many are dingy resell operations. I would encourage the establishment to think outside the box and use the space to do some good. Other countries have turned malls into huge aquaponic operations. Why not use some of the mall as a green house and produce food for local needy populations?
Free WiFi, but it isnt very good. Some good stores, but a lot of empty spots. They have done good events throughout the year, like the Health Fair. It is the only mall for many miles. It does have a Planet Fitness, but the Wal-Mart barely has anything since it if so small.
Try restructuring your expensive overhead and maybe youll keep more stores open and therefore make your mall more enjoyable to shop in. Thanks for the boring, slightly dark, walking tour. PS Your entry ports to the main hall are confusing and creepy. Whos does your advertising? Your structural layout is confusing considering how many shops you have there. Study other mall layouts then redesign yourself. Good luck.
This mall is in an awkward spot and is very small. There is a walmart and sears and a few nice stores but its a very small mall. There is a girl in there that does eyebrow threading who is really good. The food court is equally as tiny as the mall and the Walmart that is attached is actually a smallmart because it is definitely the smallest Ive seen.
A typical mall. Nothing special about this one -- they have all the standard mall-type stores (shoes, clothing, jewelry, etc.). There is a Walmart attached at one end, and the food court seems to be pretty popular. Theyve had issues in the past with the homeless camping out behind the mall, and a lot of drug pushers/users tend to hang out there as well... although its mostly after hours, but still not something you want to see.
Lots of empty store fronts at this Mall. Walked through the entire mall. Noticed a few new stores. Payless shoes is going out of business. Saw 3 or 4 groups of mostly males that were very rough and undesirable looking. Mostly around Wal Mart and in the parking lot. A group of 4 younger males ages16-25 was in the parking lot looking in car windows and trying car doors. Didnt see any security guards inside the mall or in the parking lot. I have to say the parking lot was full but the mall didnt seem to be crowded or that busy. I dont shop at the Bayshore Mall often. I prefer to shop and support local as much as I can. I dont always feel comfortable or safe at the Mall but once in a while it is neccessary for me to shop at one of the stores.
This is an indoor mall. Nothing here excites me. The food court is rather bad. There is a Walmart attached to the mall. For better merchandise, there are Ulta, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, and Kohls. So you can get all your shopping done here, with choices at different budget. But nothing high end like Macys though.
I hate this mall. Im sorry. I am glad it is there. Id rather have it than nothing. But I still have the right to not like it when I know there are malls you can go to that dont feel like a desolate wasteland. Maybe I dont understand why so mans stores are closed up, but it feels like if you build it, they will come. Maybe like an H&M or Old Navy even. Hell, you got Walmart there, why not Trader Joes or something. I always wonder why this area isnt just better overall for consumers, then I go to the mall and see how, to the best of my understanding, Eureka lets its economy stay stagnant. We have so many transplants here, I know having more options is something we want at our mall.
Security is overly aggressive if you are sitting in your car eating, looking at your phone or iPad or just enjoying some quiet. was sitting waiting for some aspirin to take effect before going to Planet Fitness and was harassed and was told I was loitering. I get my hair cut, pick up medications, eat and shop here. I don’t play loud music, throw trash in the parking lot, panhandle or cause a commotion. I don’t think your stores would like to know you are driving away their business.
A few good stores, and good coffee, but it closes ridiculously early.I went by after work and they closed down most of the store fronts at 8:00 on a Saturday. Those of us who were parked in one of the lots you go through a store to get to had to find the nearest exit to the outside, which was not very close and in the opposite direction of our cars, and then skirt the poorly lit perimeter of the building to find our cars. Totally a first world problem, I know, but I think they should have an announcement or reminder 15 minutes before the lockdown.Maybe they could consider staying open a few hours later, at least on weekends?
Its alright Mall. You do have big stores like Wal-Mart, Sears, Khols, Bed Bath& Beyond. The mall is pretty clean. Its only a single floor building. Has an ok food court which has a Burger King, Subway, and couple other food places. I think its the last mall before you hit Oregon on Highway 101. I have been going to this mall since 2002. And it has improved over the years.
Good place to cruise about, fairly small if you are from larger area it probably isnt much compared to other malls but it gets the job done. It would be lovely to see more shop fronts in some areas, not sure if Eureka is too small to attract businesses or what, but miss when it was a bit more full of shops.
Upgraded over the years... new businesses but theres still Sears. I would recommend everybody traveling through Eureka California to stop and visit the mall. Theres the food court and places to sit/eat the meals. Its a place to bring the kids. Theres a small area Wal-Mart. If you want a Super Wal-Mart in Crescent City, California. Thanks
If Walmart is what you are here for, know that (at least at the time of writing this - Sep 19th 2020) the entrance from within the mall is closed (maybe temporarily due to pandemic related cause or other) - entering Walmart is possible only through the main entrance at the back of the mall.
Only mall in Humboldt needs stores that are less commercialized and more geared towards the small town feel of Humboldt. Has a free indoor childrens play area that is lacking, they should spend less on quarter rides (or should I say dollar) and more on active play...expanding kid zone and adding a climbing wall. Come on Humboldt!
I am a Truck Driver, who lives in Michigan. I had the duty to deliver goods to various places here in Eureka, CA over the last few days so that the people of the community could enjoy their comforts living this great american life. As for me, I am stuck living in a box smaller than a prison cell, being charges with a vehicle that almost totals 70 feet in length. While you go home to sleep in your bed I have to find a safe place to park my rig so I can sleep.I had found such a place here, Way in the back lot, completely away from the customers. I was not blocking any Driveway, or Door. I was not disrupting customers in any way. I did not dump any liquid from my truck, nor did I leave behind any litter of any kind. My Vehicle does not leek any fluids, so my spot I was in was just as clean as it was when I had arrived. I had a few Police officers wave to me as they drove by to make sure the area was secure. I felt safe here. I did go inside to do some shopping.I now, regret that decision. I was told by a security officer that The Operations Manager of the mall does not want any Trucks parking at the mall and thus told me to leave, or he was going to call the cops on me for trespassing. That moment I felt like a Low life, piece of scum. I felt like a homeless man just wanting a nice nights sleep. I wish I had not shopped in this mall because I do not want to support any Business that has, or employs people with an attitude like this.I am sorry Mr. Operations Manager, but I do not want to sleep in a place that might put my life in danger just to appease your personal distaste of us Truckers I am Sorry that the world does not give us any luxury for the service that we have to do to make this country move. I hope you enjoy sleeping in your comfy bed that a truck delivered, I hope you enjoy your Finley cooked meal that a Trucker delivered all so you can go to work, and treat us like the scum that apparently we are.You have a massive lot, in a town where there is zero truck services for hundreds of miles. As long as we are not disrupting your customers, Why are we treated like we are not welcome ?So, Mr. Operations Manager, I would like to spread my opinion. I, Do not want people to shop here. I urge anyone reading this to shop elsewhere. If you possibly can get your goods from other sources, Please do so. Maybe the drop in Customers will make Mr. Operations Manager realize that treating people, no matter what profession, or way of life they choose, like scum is not ok.I have returned what items I could that I bought but regret I could not return everything. If I am ever in this area again, I will never spend a single penny in this place ever again. My money is spent to business that support My way of life. Who treat me like a Human being, and who care about my safety.
Well its big! There is a lot of good stores there. We went to walmart .and Ross. It was a week nite and we got lost from our car went in one way came out another. Took about 30 min to find it .I ask the gaurd that was working when they closed and he was nice enough to tell me .Our only problem is some stores stay open later than the mall if we had known that we could have shoped a little longer we are from out of state but we think that this mall is wounderful.and the city is beautiful. Thank you
Its a mall, not the best or biggest by any means but its has the basics. Also for a fairly cheap rate you can take your kids to bounce-a-palooza for some play time and wear them down. Also find yourself a 10 dollar a month gum membership there if you plan on sticking around.
This place is just heart wrenching. As you walk down the hallways, past the closed shops, its like walking down a hall of lost dreams. Its should have been expected with the way the rest of Humboldt county is. A perfect example of an economy that has isolated itself so much from progress that it is on the verge of collapse.
Im not very happy with the service we received after our purchase. We bought quite a few big appliancesFridge, new range, dishwasher and a BBQ.When the BBQ was delivered it was chipped and they said they would replace it.That was months ago and we cant get anyone to acknowledge our not receiving it or have it replaced. Very dissatisfied.
If youve seen the original Dawn of the Dead you kind of know what to expect here. The shoppers may not be zombies, but they sure seem like it. In addition to a consumer base that seems to share three brain cells, there are empty storefronts just begging to be filled with overpriced goods, some anchor stores of name (Walmart - and all you would expect to come with it, Kohls, and Sears), a food court where your chance of getting sick is far greater than the odds that you order will be taken properly, and a security staff that seems incapable of stopping a sneeze. What is the Bayshore Mall good for? People watching and Coast Central Credit Union, which is open seven days a week. The place doesnt even have a bookstore anymore, and that should tell you all you need to know.
Nice big mall. Clean! A lot of basic stores in this mall, Wal-Mart, petco and payless. Big food court, lots of options. A lot of people bring dogs into this mall for some reason, found that a little strange especially in the food court areas. But overall its a nice place.
This is the only real mall option in the area. Stores are mediocre, food court is poor-to-middling quality but they do offer a variety of options from noodles to Mexican for a quick bite. There is an Ulta cosmetics store, a Wal-Mart, and a Ross for those who like such things.
Went to Claires and was amazed at the helpful information given. Love Claires hair clip and band selection. Just get more butterfly bands. Metal please. They are my favorite so, please, please order a nice new four butterfly design soonI would like one for everyday, but, two would be nice. Mine suffered in this last move. They are so Awesome. Thanks for the seasonal feather blossom clips. They work just Great.Sincerely,Rebecca
They have great stores there but the security is very rude. I took me esa cat with me because I had to pass by Petco while shopping and they kicked me out of the building. My esa is trained to walk on a leash and very friendly. All the store employees were all excited and okay with my cat being there and the security said I could not have him in the mall and my esa verification did not mean anything. Its very hard to have anxiety and shop in giant stores as is, let alone with security yelling at you for having your esa.
Not bad, good for people passing by wanting somewhere to stop, but pretty ran though for people living here. the large stores are the only thing worth it. used to have stuff like orange julices, and hotdog on a stick, tilt arcade, but no more.now its a tesla parking, walmart, sears, khols, bk, and small stores.
Food and shopping. A nice way to get access to lots of stores in one place.Walmart stays open, but their entrance into the mall closes, which can make it tricky to get back to your car, depending on where you parked. Make sure youre on the right side of the gate when it closes.Walking around outside the mall at night is a bit iffy. Would be better if more security was added or the Walmart entrance to the mall was left open.
This is the ghetto mall of Humboldt complete with a walmart store lol. If youre looking for variety, it isnt here. Khols, Pie1, Ross and Sears are about the only stores worth anything. The food area is really awful too. Bottom line... The owners of this mall invest almost nothing keeping it up, but charge outrageous rents.

2022-03-11Rumors say that they owners of the mall cant pay/foreclosed etc. on this property. Yet they still have it clean and have security + working restrooms. Covid did a # on all businesses But this mall did not inform renters of the fact that this mall is bankrupt. There are good stores still here the but management absolutely sucks.

2022-03-12This would be such an incredible place if people didnt have to worry about property damage, violence, open drug use and harassment, and behaviors otherwise recognized as antisocial in most other developed places on Earth. Its just part of the brand here, it seems. Make sure you have a low deductible auto insurance plan if you plan to shop here, and dont worry about the dude flashing everyone as they walk into Walmart - hes just playful, I guess. And just overlook the lady with the gigantic, wild hair smashing your passenger window - she really needs that empty can and you probably shouldve left it unlocked anyway.

2022-05-08The mall itself isnt the best, but at least the still IS as mall here! Lets KEEP it that way by supporting these stores as much as we can! The mall is still a great place to hang out, grab a bite, and pick up some cool new finds!

2022-06-13We went to the mall just for the message chairs they have In the walkways outside of Walmart. Just $ 2. Gave me plunty of time for the chair to do its thing. Boy it sure did feel good. And well worth the time and money.

2022-04-14The mall not a very big mall if youd seen bigger ones in bigger cities but its got a fair selection gradient stores and with the addition of Walmart being that they have groceries the mall could be a One-Stop shop

2022-06-03This places make me regret moving back to Humboldt, hahaha. There are more empty stores than not. For some reason, our DMV is at the mall? Okay. Maybe it works, but what does it say about your city when you have nowhere else to put the DMV besides to mall? Bayshore is sort of the perfect representation of Humboldt.

2022-06-02Only half the mall was open. Police there on 3 different occasions the day I was there. You have to walk clear around the mall to access Walmart and they dont open till 10:00

2022-05-05As to food choices... if you have a MSG sensitivity, avoid the Chinese Gourmet; This is new, since we usually eat there. But, the Mexican counter is good, as is the place next door, further down the mall: you can get a good boba drink there as well for $5. If you want to sit and read, better BYO, since theres not a newspaper machine (even for the free local alternative paper) anywhere on or in the mall). Too bad that Kaleidoscope Coffee had to leave, as that was our go-to place for a really good iced coffee or ice cream. Sad.

2022-02-24From Haircuts to Walmart and Boot barn. You can find just about everything in this Mall. Oh and DMV. Nice atmosphere as well. Malls are a dying thing these days and Im glad this one is Still going and open.
