The best-stocked toy section of any Barnes & Noble in the area. Whoever orders toys does a good job of staying in-stock and of getting the good stuff.Usually it is at this point that one would say, give that person a promotion!, but no - dont do that! Then they wont do what they are good at any more. Why send them off to bookseller management school just because they dont suck at ordering? Lets be real - they will prob suck at managing. Keep them in toys where they belong! Why are toys even a thing? Bookstores sell them, shops like Zombie Toyz sell them on eBay. Really. Adult collectibles meant something entirely different to previous generations. But, once again - apologies for the tangential digression.
Have hung out here plenty of times with friends. Great selection of books and always offers plenty of discounts. Nice small cafe area in the middle. Offers a peaceful and quite enviornemnt. Staff are respected and provide great service. If you have the name of the book and author they will help you find the book if avaliable in no time.
I got a tampered Pokémon TCG Celebrations Lances Charizard V Collection Box here. Im DONE buying Pokémon cards here unless I get a refund! Im sorry if I am being harsh, but I am a young kid who worked for money to buy this box to find out that it was tampered. This box, along with 5 others, were sitting on the floor buy the register.
Went on a covid date here, because everything is closed and we both love dates. The store was very clean and the workers were helpful. We went to window shop and ended up collectively spending over 100 dollars. Well probably be back to feed our book addiction soon enough.
Line was long, which is good as it shows the store is thriving. However, an announcement was made over the PA system asking people to finish their shopping as people were outside waiting to come in because of COVID-19 restrictions/max capacity. That announcement coupled with a long line with one cashier was a bit ironic. Other than that, staff was friendly, store was clean and orderly.
I had a few hours to kill before my next appointment. I thought Id go to Barnes & Noble for coffee and books. I picked out 4 books to look at, not intending to buy them but something to look at for the next few hours. The atmosphere was pleasant and so was the coffee. The hours went by quickly and I ended up buying several books.
I did not have a good experience at thisstoreThey did not have enough cash registers there and also when I went to buy my tumbler with the cat cat with flower on it which I did not buy because of reasons because they did not have the cash register open at this the service register or in line was too long at the bar at theStarbucks if you are in a Hurry forget going to this store !👎
I love coming to this Barnes and Noble. The staff is always very helpful and super friendly and the store is almost never disorganized. And they have a wide selection of books from self-help to fiction novels to language learning books. There is even a Starbucks in this location, which makes a trip here even better. If you have the B&N membership (which is $25 a year), you will even get a discount at the Starbucks inside because its affiliated under B&N. Got two lattes for about $3 with the membership. Its not much, but its a nice touch to have the membership.
One of my favorite places ever! I come here whenever I have some time to myself and need a cozy place to read and have coffee. Awesome selection of books, nice and helpful staff, and LOVE the Starbucks! My go-to place for buying new books and having a quiet afternoon :)Also a perfect place for the whole family to read and have fun :D
Staff always great. The membership is good if you like to read. I love to look at the bargin books always find something interesting that I wouldnt have thought of. I enjoy roaming the shelves looking for things reading the jackets. I always walk out with more than I went looking for. I also like to get the book right then as opposed to waiting for the mail.
I love everything about Barnes and Noble and particularly our Marketplace store in Irvine. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. I believe I was asked by at least 4 people if they could help me with anything. This is like a candy store to me with all the awesome books and many gift items. Thank you!!😊🤗
This has been my go-to study spot ever since my high school days. This store is always clean, orderly, and inviting. The workers are very helpful and easy to strike up a conversation with. Ive been here recently and it looks like theyve added a lot of popular office items like Pilot pens. Im one to often peruse the many-optioned notebook shelves and I end up going back to my beloved Moleskines, of which they seem to have every shape and color. No matter where I go, coming here feels like home
For a handicapped person, I dont think I will shop there again. There is no place to sit and when I finally was able to get on the floor an employee discriminated against me and told me I had to either get up and stand or leave. Ill visit other book stores that will not discriminate against handicapped people.
This is a huge location with a large cafe splat in the middle. I usually have an easy time finding what Im looking for, but this weekend I had a little difficulty and asked for help. Their store staff was so completely helpful that they scoured the shelves to help me. When we still couldnt find what I was looking for, the associate checked stock at other stores in the area. That was some high class full-service!!!
I over all love Barnes & Noble’s and I usually go there to buy manga. I basically go there Weekly and the service is really good and the employees are really nice and very helpful. And they also played pretty good music and I’ve never seen any workers there act rude and they are very polite and always on task . And that’s how they got a five-star for me and I hope you guys like this place to because it’s a great place to hang out and do homework or just look for books you like.
Love reading there. Great selection and the Starbucks cafe has a lot of delicious food. (Im not a coffee drinker) My only complaint is at Every! Barnes & Noble I go to their bathroom (mens) is Always! dirty. Their (elitist) attitude seems to be We are booksellers. We do NOT perform bathroom maintenance... They let their cleaning company do it after hours.
Wonderful spot for afternoon coffee between two bookworms. The starbucks inside has the obligatory student encampment but the were enough free seats in the corner to catch up.Its not the widest selection of books, but anything can be ordered. The non-book inventory is interesting and make great gift ideas.
Being an avid book reader, I expected this place to be inviting for the book readers with low cost books. Unfortunately, the book which I was interested in was cheaper at the Amazon. Other than that, its a great store. Nicely laid out. Reading areas, play areas for the kids and the in store restaurant.
Great service, friendly employees and staff members, good rewards program and excellent book choices. I enjoy poetry, manga and comic books, romance novels and LGBTQ+ based-books. I asked where a book was and they immediately searched it up and helped me find it. Thanks for the best service, Barnes & Noble!
One of my favorite smells in the world. The smell of fresh, delicate books, accompanied by warm brownies that bring a magnificent cozy delightful feeling to your nose, coffee that sits warm on your face without even touching the moist mixture, and hot cocoa that gives you a nice relaxed feeling at a cafe. However, I do wish their selection of manga and light novels were in a larger quantity and slightly more diverse heterogenerity, however, as I could not find all the volumes for many different sets of books that should be located in certain areas, as they are still quite popular or mainstream. Also, the fantasy section should topped with more fanatical flavors of book tastes, as the person I went with was dissatisfied with the choices.
Always friendly service. Customer care is a priority. Love the store and parking is always easy. The lot is huge. The shop is hard to see from the street due to the large lots for open free parking but look for the signs on the outskirts of the lot that are billboard ish names saying which lot to park in to access store(s)
Clerks are friendly and helpful. The store itself is awful. The space is cramped and crowded and definitely not customer friendly. No chairs or tables except in the overcrowed cafe. Where are the usual places to sit and enjoy the bookstore environment? I am highly disappointed and will not return.
The experience was good. I would have given it a 5-star rating had not the representative told me that they did not have a book that I showed her a picture of but then she did decide to look it up and found that it was kept at the front counter. So, overall my experience was good, not great!
B&N at this location is more library than bookstore. And its turning into GameStop. Just ring me up- dont ask me to preorder, dont ask me to join your club, dont try and trick me into giving you my email, and dont ask if youve provided excellent service. And quit with printing 3 receipts.Filthy store and the bathroom is worse than gross.
Store 2954 in Orange, CA iz the ABSOLUTE WORST!!!! 20 THUMBZ DOWN!!! I have Tinnitus, from the military, and I dont expect ppl to look at me and know, bit I DO expect to be treated like [at least] a human being. Probably not a racial incident but from the outside looking in [the way I waz treated] your regular customer wouldve immediately thought so. I waz shopping for a specific cover for my Bible, and the store where I live waz out but informed me that there waz one up North, (about 64 milez) from where I live. So I drove up to get it. Well, Im not familiar with the area, so I simply looked up the address of the 1st one I would run across (up North within that radius) and the GPS gave me the aforementioned location. I go in, its a beautiful store, therez two levelz, a vast area of reading, gamez, accessoriez, and refreshments. So, not to look suspicious (COVID-19 mask) I ask an employee (Monica) for assistance. Again I dont expect any preferential treatment, just simple courtesy. So, I didnt quite hear her (masks) so I asked her again; 1st off she disrespectfully slowed her speech, uzed her fingerz az to sound out each syllable of each word, and then looked at me az if I had a mental impairment/handicap??? I dont think I did or asked anything to warrant this treatment and Ive always found/thoight it better to ask again (if you dont hear/understand something) but I guess this waznt the case. I guess I waz an annoyance and she possibly didnt want to be bothered or assist me. Either way, I didnt respond to her UNPROFESSIONALISM, hateful speech therapy, or disrespectful attitude. I simply said thank you, walked away, and asked another employee her name, (az to not upset/bother her again) and found myself here, leaving this factual review. I called corporate, initial call waz disconnected and 2nd call waz placed on hold for suppozedly less than 30 minutes... PLEAZE, if you just HAVE to vizit this location, try finding your merchandise on your own or find any employee, other than Monica... Be safe and stay healthy!!!
Employees were really nice and courteous but barnes and noble needs to get with the times and start price matching. I went in for a book that was on sale for $16.99 and target had it for $3 less at $13.97 plus as a red card holder I get an additional 5% off plus free shipping. All I wanted to do was price match the advertised price at $13.97 and was told that they do not price match. I chose not buy it from barn heads and noble and chose not to support your company. I just like alot of people shop online for the better deals. I know it was only $3 but it was the fact that you guys would rather lose a customer then discount $3.
This had been my go to bookstore for some time now. If you need help finding something youll need to track someone down. Im often able to find something of interest in the bargain sections. I prefer purchasing books in the store as youre able to see the condition of the book before you buy it.
To live in a place with such a derth of bookstores. Strange that the only place I can roam around books is a giant chain bookstore. The bad: To stay in business, B&N gives in to the pressure of selling whatever bimonthly crap the children-entertainment-complex is churning at the moment. If you can pass that (increasingly harder for me) they do have some books. Ive seen with sadness the philosophy section shrank, the Bible section grow (nothing against the religion, or Bible in particular, but five bookshelves of bibles? Not books about Christianity. Bibles.) B&N of course responds to the specific population the particular store is located; so the growing and shrinking of sections says as much about the business model of b&n (responsive) as it does about the place I live in (Irvine). Graphic novel section is quite large for a general bookstore, but often misguided; mostly (90%) superhero and manga. A few image hits are there, and one or two independent titles.Still, bookstores are second home to me, so I bring business here and pay the extra (compared to Amazon) just to keep them around a bit longer.
Worst service ever. Okay, I went there to get a copy of All Quiet on the Western Front and they did not have it there. Of course, I ordered it at the customer service, but did not receive an e-mail for over two weeks. So I went back there to ask for the copy, again. And no, they did not have it AGAIN. I waited for about a month already, and they still dont have it. Why does it take so long for you guys to order a new stock of books?
A staff member abruptly showed up and asked a question in a rude tone ‘what is the reason that brings you here today?’...this was when I was seated and browsing a book which i was thinking to buy..and I obviously left the store without buying anything...please treat your customers in a proper way..if you want to send away people who hang out for no reason and spend hours reading all the books in the store there are others ways to find who they are.
Jesse has awesome Customer Service skills. I needed an item at this particular store and needed it ASAP. He found the item (Rechargeable ReadyLight Lamp)- tested it for me to make sure it worked. He took his time with me on the phone to make sure the sale went through, he packaged the item and marked the persons name picking it up. Patiently listened to my story.... I was impressed at how nice and easy he made the purchase. The item is going to Indonesia to a primatology researcher - to keep the home light on, so to speak.Thank you Jesse.
It is more of a Dept store now with a mini food court. They did not have the item I was looking for in stock even though online it said they had 2. The staff working there were not too concerned with helping. Its not the B&N it used to be. Unfortunately, they drove me to buy online.
The best. Selection, staff couldnt be better. The people who come to camp out in the café giving the stank eye to people they think are moving in on their turf and the barefoot children running through the biography section are quite unfortunate. Still worth going and ignoring this riff raff. Barnes and Noble is still worth supporting.
When you look inside a bookstore, you see people and books everywhere. When you look inside Barnes and Nobles, you see passion for books inside people, kids and adults alike. Inside, there are many books we havent read, filled with wonder and excitement, adventure, mystery, and romance. Now this, is a place to read.
I got some pretty good Yuri manga up in this hizzouse. Frickin citrus, Oooo. I mean look, its Yuri first of all, then second of all they are step sisters. This the real stuff you cant get this any where else. So come down into this place and met my homies. peace out.

2022-07-12Barnes and Nobles is a mystery. It is being run as if it were going to go into bankruptcy tomorrow. There are lots of quick sale items, like toys and puzzles. All of the literary items have been moved out, possibly to a jobber. What remains is genre fiction and a few front-of-the-catalog items at the entrance. And yet the conundrum is that the store has been in this mode for almost two years. The store is a zombie. Its ironic, because Barnes and Nobles created this space as a superstore where you could find anything you needed. But now theres nothing to read.

2022-06-09It was worst costumer service I felt discriminated by the cashier Jo. When I entered to this place. I try to ask her a question she walk away and I approached her again, she wasn’t helpful at all. I had my children with me and they even noticed how she was discriminated she was. We are not white. But that should not matter what race. She need to be more respectful and have better costumer service.

2022-07-08Smaller store with larger coffee area. Came to pick up gift certificates and the process was painless. They were located near the checkout area with minimal wait. Lots of magazines and Manga.

2021-12-25Plenty of help. Staff was kind cheerful and helpful. Bookstore was clean and organized. I walked in just as they opened my only complaint is the restroom was,not very clean. The rest of the store was excellent so maybe they clean just after opening.Parking is plentiful. Easy access from the freeway. A nice Starbucks inside. Nicely decorated for the Holidays. Books are easy to find. Fun displays and even sale displays.

2020-12-29I went midday on Monday. I did not have to wait outside because it wasnt crowded. I was able to buy my 2021 calendar for half off. The check out line had a register for credit cards only and I was in and out very quickly.

2022-05-14Happy that this barnes and noble did not close down like the one by my house. Love this place and great prices for books
