Since its a small location, its completely understandable that they dont have each brand, segment, and color. This weekend I rented a 7-passenger SUV, so I called 24 hours before my pick up, they didnt have it when I called, but they made sure to get it on time for my reservation. This is my second time renting in this location, and its been an excellent service!

DO NOT BOOK HERE! Should have just cancelled my reservation when I arrived to pickup the car and the door was open but no one to be found anywhere, waited over 25 mins for Raul to return saying he was looking at cars, no sign on the door or communication. He was short, rude and didnt even show me to the garage where the car was. Pickup was the bigger issue. I had plans and planned on dropping off the car prior. Arrived to drop off as scheduled and the door is closed with a sign that says will return at 925am and a number to call for information.... Thats another 30 minute wait standing outside. Called the number, no answer and a generic voicemail. Received a text that said BRB at garage after 15 mins. Unprofessional, and the worst experience. In addition, car was filthy with bandaid wrappers inside on the floorboard.

Sent me a confirmation email after I booked, only to have me show up and tell me they do not have any cars available. The guy working didnt bother to try and help find a solution. Poor experience and will not be using this company in the future.

My fiancé and I made an online reservation to pick up a Toyota Corolla from this location. All expenses and fees were paid. When we arrived to the location, Raul, the manager, was not welcoming nor talkative. After informing him about our online reservation, he steps outside without saying a word and when he returns, he says he only has a Nissan and Chevy available. My fiancé expresses his confusion as he reserved the Toyota online. Raul continues to rudely deflect from the question without providing any answers or insight.We decided to go with the Nissan, which has a dent on the drivers side, multiple scratches, and poorly vacuumed seats/floors. Raul only marked the dent on the slip however I took it upon myself to mark the other minimal damages. Towards the end of finalizing the paperwork, Raul goes on to ask for my credit card. Considering that we paid our expenses online, we were confused and asked for clarification and Raul tickled by his impatience, rudely repeated that he needed my credit card. He never gave a properly explanation as to why however he did mention my card was not get charged.Meanwhile in the span of all this, an older white woman comes in and Raul demeanor is completely different. His customer service skills were revived as he laughed and joked with this woman. I do not want to assume anything however considering my fiancé and I are both black, this type of negligent behavior is not uncommon nor acceptable.If Raul is the manager of this location, I can only imagine what kind of service and treatment his supervisor condones. DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION.2 days later, I see that my card has been charged after Raul clearly stated it would not. Getting in contact with this location and even the customer service department has been a nightmare due to automated massages and ridiculous wait times. I advise using another rental company or avoid this specific location all together.I would like my card to be refunded please.

One of the life time worst experience ever. If you want to experience the worst car rental service, come here. You thought you booked through Avis or Budget and then you are safe. No!!! The corporate contracted the rental service out to a private company! No matter where you book, you finally need to communicate the rude old man who will tell you that there is NO car available even though you show him the reservation confirmation. This is totally like the airline overbooking situation. However, there is no penalty for him for not giving you a car, and you even don’t know if he is lying to you or not.I had to call Avis customer service to be rerouted to another location (San Diego airport, in my case) to pick up a car I don’t want (a convertible, in my case). What’s worse, even though the customer service guaranteed you the same price as the original reservation, this is (almost) not the case at all! (This is another long story later.) You have to fight hard to get what you supposed to get. With my 15-mo baby crying and his grandma not knowing English anxiously wait. I spent a whole good 3hr to finally get the car.I just want an affordable way of transportation? Why is that so hard?In a word, if you want to experience what I experienced, come here! You won’t regret it!Merry Christmas!

I visited the Avis in Town & Country SD several times in 2018 and 2019 to pick up a rental car from Avis which is located in the lobby. It was the easiest rental location that I know of near North Park/Downtown. I only subject myself to the airport rental agencies if I have absolutely no other choice. I was quite happy with the service that I received from the manager and his son who run this location until February 2019. (I will preface this review with I was at that time car-less after totalling a car prior and living in three cities/states in 2018 where I did not need a car. However, in San Diego a car is a necessity since our public transportation is still pretty subpar for a metropolitan of our size.)I arrived to pick up a car one Saturday morning after securing a reservation two days prior and stood outside the door wondering what was the commotion in the T & C Hotel lobby. The commotion turned out to be a sign on the Avis door which read: NO MORE CARS CLOSED UNTIL MONDAY. I read the sign about five times in complete disbelief because I had a reservation and I was early to pick up the car so how the heck could they be out of cars? There was no notification and no communication before or after this as to what happened. They also did nothing to rectify it when I called to try to get a car at a different location. Unlike the hotel guests who were expecting cars, I live in San Diego and knew of other close by rental cars and had family and friends nearby. I dont understand how any business could stay in business with such poor customer service. I left the hotel and got a Lyft to a nearby car dealership and purchased a vehicle that same day.

Picked up the car, which I booked on Costco Travel. price was supposed to be $102.08 for the 3 day rental. I dropped it off before the time due on the 3rd day but since there isnt always someone in the rental office I had to leave the keys in the box. Later I noticed a charge on my credit card for 123.63. When I called This Avis location and spoke to the guy in charge he wasnt sure and then when he finally gave an answer he said they charged me $20 because I brought the car back dirty. He had no idea what was dirty or where just they charged me $20. Now when I picked it up it hadnt been vacuumed or even freshly washed! And since they told me I brought it back dirty but couldnt tell me where or what was dirty I now realize that this is there way of making more money because when you book thru Costco you get a cheaper rate. I had a long conversation with Costco Travel and apparently I am not the only one who has had problems. I am not sure if this is an Avis Problem, although I did file a complaint with them as well but I would recommend staying away from this independent Rental place. Find another rental location!

Reserved a car for 3 days. Returned it within the required timeframe and have the parking lot time stamp to show. The rental agreement was for $156 and I have been charged $218 with a separate transaction for an additional $64. I tried to call the location twice, with no answer. I now have Avis Customer Service reviewing the issue and they said I kept the car an extra day, which is why I was charged extra. I clearly didn’t and have provided them with the parking lot timestamp so they can review. I still don’t know what the $64 charge is for. Not very happy with this location.

This Avis car rental experience was for the most part, awesome! The building itself, while clearly labeled with the Avis sign, is confusing as the sign is on the back of a brick building and my suggestion would be another sign or arrow showing how to get to the front entrance. As for rental experience, I was extremely pleased when I was offered a TOYOTA PRIUS, although I had reserved a compact car. My previous rental experiences have always found the hybrid vehicles to be much more expensive than regular rentals, but it was all same price. One thing I found peculiar though, because I have an out of state drivers license I had to sign a paper stating I had not flown into San Diego within the last 12 hours, otherwise would be charged an airport fee around $20.00 a day! The rental location is a 15 minute plus drive away from any airport!! The drop off was smooth a hassle free, received an email and my confirmation/receipt within an hour :)

I rented an economy car from the Avis location on Hotel Circle San Diego. They gave me a Kia Soul. It had great fuel economy and was fun and easy to drive.Pick up and drop off was super easy. For pick up I worked with the attendant. For drop off it was after hours so it was easy to drop keys in the drop box.I found the whole experience to be extremely positive and the price was the best(I shopped around)
