My whole experience living at Avalon Hayes Valley has been amazing. Fantastic service, helpful and friendly team, well organised, great amenities, fantastic apartments and great neighbourhood.I’ve lived in 2 different types of apartment here; a 2 bed and a 2 bed townhouse. Both were fantastic. The townhouses give an amazing amount of space and features.The management team have always gone over and above to make my experience here seamless and special. David and Trish are always available, responsive and willing to help problem solve and get things done.I would 100% choose to live here again in the future. It’s a great place to call home!
This building has great staff! Thanks to Trish and David in helping us transfer to our dream unit and always being available to talk.Additionally, we have a great maintenance crew! Super friendly and very professional. They’re responsive to your service requests and Abraham is great at scheduling a time that works with your schedule. They’re also respectful of your home which we really appreciate (ie. Wear shoe covers and clean up after their work). Special thanks to Romeo and Marlon who had to trade out of washing machine. Again, super friendly, worked quickly and cleaned up afterwards. We really appreciate all you do! Thanks for making it a great experience.
The apartments are in very good location of Hayes Valley with lots of restaurants and shops around. The staff at the property is also great, very professional and helpful.

I’d like to share my experience as we just moved in Avalon Hayes Valley. We managed the process of finding and renting our apartment entirely online from abroad thanks to the amazing help of David who has been super helpful and swift answering our numerous questions by emails and sharing videos of the available apartments with us as we couldn’t tour them physically to make our choice. Then, when we arrived in the US, David and Trish have been very considerate, making everything they could to ensure wed love our new home. Weve briefly also met Romi from the maintenance team who was also super nice. Now that we arrived, we absolutely love our apartment in the heart of vibrant Hayes Valley. Its a very peaceful, beautiful and high-end residence. The lease management is very convenient, with a great mix of smooth online processes with warm human interactions. The logistics of receiving orders is as easy as one can hope for. The on-site fitness center is a great plus. Overall, weve had an incredible experience so far and were glad to envision ourselves here for the years to come.
David and Trish were amazing to work with at Avalon Hayes Valley. Any question or concern that I had with them was equally met with an immediate response and professionalism. We searched a lot of properties in the Bay Area before choosing Avalon Hayes. My girlfriend lived here previously and we came back after moving away for a few years because we missed it so much! Overall, this has been the best apartment unit Ive stayed in the Bay Area in my 8 years living here. Here are just a few reasons you should choose to live here, even during COVID-19.STAFF — definitely one of the biggest highlights of living here. David and Tricia have been incredible to work with and really care about making residentss stays perfect. They helped us weigh pros and cons between different units and made move-in smooth. Abraham and Romeo have also been super helpful, repairing anything that was broken or worn down. For example, our washer/dryer unit was having issues after move-in, and within a few days, I had a brand new one installed. This isnt unusually fast for them, even—all interactions weve had with the leasing office and work order system have been super prompt, a big difference between this Avalon property and other rental units Ive stayed at.LOCATION — right next to the main drag of Hayes Street with amazing food options. Chez Maman, Papito, Urban Ritual, Blue Bottle, Nojo Ramen, Fatted Calf, to a name just a few of the amazing shops open during the pandemic that are a stones throw from Avalon Hayes. No need to cook every day, and you dont need to use delivery apps to get good food. Easy access to the freeway from the Oak Street side. Overall very convenient location in San Francisco proper.FACILITIES — everything on the premises is well maintained. Aesthetics of the units and hallways are contemporary. The central garden foyer features a a bunch of plants and a few residents have gone all-out on their patios with lush tomato plants. Unfortunately the gym is closed now due to COVID-19 restrictions, but Ive used it previously and found it similarly kept in good condition.Im really pleased to be at Avalon Hayes Valley, and would highly recommend you choose to stay here!
We had a great experience with the leasing office. David was so amazing showing us around, touring several apartments, answering all our (numerous) questions and helping us finding our new home in SF. He was just the best. We didnt even looked at other places after visiting here, as we were sure this was the best option. Throughout the entire moving process David and Trish were so so so helpful and kind, always with a smile. We felt very welcomed and very happy for choosing to live here, and have David and Trish to thank for that. The amenities, the managing team and the community in general are awesome. Definitely recommend anyone looking for a place in SF to consider Avalon Hayes Valley.
I had an amazing experience working with the leasing office to find my new home in SF! David was amazing throughout the entire process, from touring the apartment and facilities to answering my many questions over email and phone calls. I felt welcomed into the community immediately and have him to thank for this. I would definitely recommend anyone looking to move to Hayes Valley to consider Avalon. The rooftop terraces, gym and other amenities are awesome.
Mike, a new member of the maintenance team, is very helpful, considerate and diligent. The washer in my apt was clogged last Saturday. Mike responded fast the next morning to investigate the problem, and provided another washer for our immediate use. He even did some research himself to figure out how to repair the unit instead of moving in a new one, as the latter could take more time and be way more noisy.Also Romeo, the head of the maintenance team did very good job. Trish and David at the front desk are always kind and warm-hearted. Very high quality service here!
If youre looking for a top tier apartment with a stellar location and a fantastic staff, look no further than Avalon Hayes Valley.My wife and I moved from North Carolina to California and this was the first place that we lived. The location is central to many of the best parts of San Francisco and is walking distance from dolores park, Alamo Square and the SOMA area.The apartments are not the largest but come well equipped with premium fixtures and appliances.As far as everyday life at Avalon Hayes Valley goes, it is typically peaceful, relaxing and easy going. It was rare to have issues with any of the other residents and there were not many noise issues.When the rooftop is open, it gives a phenomenal view of the entire city.The best part of the Avalon experience however, is the apartment staff. Between David, Trish and the maintenance team - everyone who you will interact with will go out of their way to make you feel at home. Theyve also done a superb job with adjusting to life with COVID and ensuring that the community takes the proper precautions.10/10 would recommend living here.
Ive been living at the Avalon Hayes Valley for over a year now and have had an amazing experience! Being new to the city I wanted somewhere central and in a vibrant but safe neighbourhood and thats exactly what I got! The management team is amazing as well. Trish especially goes above and beyond to make sure residents have a great experience. I havent come across a single person on the Avalon team who hasnt gone out of their way to make residents feel at home and welcome. I couldnt recommend this place more!
I had an amazing experience with the Avalon team. Special thanks to David who helped me take the decision to sign the lease. As i am new to SF area i had lots of questions and was looking all over but when i saw the apartment, the building and the team here at Avalon- it was clear to me it was a good fit for me. David exceeded my expectations and went beyond to help me with my relocation requirements. I appreciate that a lot. Now that i am in the apartment i can also comment about the maintenance and support i get here which is incredible! The Building is quiet, clean and maintained very well. It is a very nice area. I recommend this place for sure!
Wonderful location, spacious and light-filled apartments, and amazing staff! You can find everything you need (restaurants, grocery, walgreens, dessert shops, bars, gift shops) within a 5 mile walk, and Hayes valley is centrally located which makes it easy to get anywhere else in the city. The apartments themselves are very modern with great amenities, and Trish and David are super responsive and always very helpful. Highly recommend!
Love living here! David and Trish are superb - we needed to move in the day after we saw the place, and they made it happen even though it meant they had to still stay in touch over the weekend. Romeo and the maintenance team are also super quick and professional, never making us wait more than a few hours before fixing any of our issues.Its also an awesome, safe, and lively neighborhood with tons of restaurants and grocery stores (safeway, costco, whole foods) w/in a 10-minute walking distance. Highly recommend living here!
The community managers and maintenance team are incredible! They are friendly and constantly helpful. It feels like home. Especially during the shelter in place orders they make sure to listen and help you through and issues that come up. We are lucky to be a part of this community. I always feel at ease when chatting with Trish, she is the most professional community manager I have ever interacted with

I moved in to Avalon Hayes Valley yesterday. Even though the office was closed Trish came in on her day off to make sure I was able to get my keys. I had not been assigned parking and David came with me into the garage to help me get parking spots. He tried his best to make it so they were as close as possible. So far the Team at Avalon Hayes Valley has been awesome. P.s. I also got first two months free of rent...cant beat it.
I was so close to renting a unit at Avalon Hayes, but wasn’t able to due to personal conflict. However, my experience both with Sharon and David were SO fantastic that I felt compelled to write a review. Both Sharon and David are extremely accommodating, patient, and kind. I’m so sad that I won’t be able to rent a unit at this place, but I am sure I will find my way back in the future. Thank you so much to Sharon and David for your kindness and professionalism. I hope to cross paths with Avalon Hayes Valley again soon.

I love living at Avalon Hayes Valley. This is my first apartment in San Francisco. The building is new, the apartments are in perfect condition and exceptionally maintained. Everything is so clean, including the public spaces, car park, rooftop. The team does a fabulous job. They work extremely hard to make sure their residents feel at home. Thank you Elliot, Sophia, Abraham, Romeo, and Paul for everything you do. You are truly amazing.
I recently renewed my lease and am happy to continue calling Avalon Hayes Valley my home. The neighborhood is wonderful and it’s been a great area as a newcomer to San Francisco. My apartment itself is great and the staff are always willing to help me with issues I’ve had.
Currently living in Avalon Hayes Valley. Great location - central. Trish helped me for the move in with a trolley. Maintenance team is very efficient: it took them only one day to fix a washing machine issue. However, I already sent 4 complaints because of loud bass noise late in the night (usually till 1-2AM) from a neighbor and the issue is still present.
Lived there for 2 years. Avalon Hayes Valley was our first home in San Francisco and I dont have words to describe how welcoming and awesome the management and maintenance team were during our stay. From time to time team is renewed, and you may think service level is going down, we did, but it never did. Every newcomer manager brought a different management style but the same courteous smile and good energy. By the time we left we had Sophia and Elli, and both are amazing human people. In this Avalon, management makes it feel personal. You dont get that hotel-like feeling. Check in process was great, and checkout process even greater. 100% positive experience.
Trish & David were immensely helpful during our move-in, expertly addressing our plethora of likely annoying questions with an always positive attitude. Highly recommend the entire staff and the building more generally!
After living in several other apartments all over the US, I can say with certainty that our experience at Avalon Hayes Valley has been by far the best. The staff are great--seriously, theyre awesome--its in the best neighborhood in SF, the amenities are top notch, and my apartment is the nicest. Small, yes, but youre living in San Francisco, and weve set our studio up nicely. 100% recommend. Hope to stay here for a while.
Im very sad to say goodbye to Avalon, as it was the perfect home for me! Modern, sleek apartment design, with plenty of nice amenities. Additionally, its in the heart of Hayes Valley, with so many amazing restaurants and bars nearby! Unfortunately, I had to leave to move to New York, but overall, the entire process was incredibly smooth (led by David and partially Trish from the leasing office).
I had a really great experience touring Avalon virtually with David. David was super warm and friendly and a great agent. David was super responsive and kept our needs top of his mind. My husband and I ended up leasing at another property due to other reasons but wanted to highlight our incredible experience working with David amid having to tour virtually.
I never thought Id live in a brand new complex, but the thing that makes this apartment better than any other building is the staff! Elliott, the leasing manager, was warm, kind, and extremely patient from the get go. He and the rest of the staff at Avalon Hayes Valley have transformed my idea of home. My boyfriend and I are extremely happy to make this our first home together. Big thank you to the staff! :)
I had a phenomenal experience since moved in here last month - would highly recommend to anyone considering a nice luxury building in SF!!This is an incredibly nice new building in the most hip hood on SF - clean, safe, full of nice boutique shops. Whats more - the staff here make all the difference! They are nice, warm, resourceful and really make you feel home. From the leasing office staff (Sean and Cora) who ensure a seamless move in for us, to the maintenance staff (especially Abraham) that would go out their way to help, I feel so happy to have called this place home! :)
Ive been living at the Avalon Hayes Valley for the past year and absolutely love it. The location is perfect with lots of great restaurants and bars nearby. The apartment complex is beautiful and really well done. I use the gym and roof all the time and they are both great. The Maintanence and leasing office staff are also super nice and helpful! Highly recommend.
Ive been living here for more than 11 months... Till now, starting from day 1, everything was super smooth. I only needed maintenance team once in this period for some paint touch up and Paul from the team immediately solved my problem!The amenities are quite good, clean and in new condition. Gym is better than lots of other apartment complex and never gets crowded! I didnt use car parking as we have 2 zipcars just there...Elliott and Sophia are the best management team and Elliott knows everyones name in person! They are always around and very responsive, easy going people.No minor problem so far.. I will update with moving out process when I move...

Wow, what a wonderful experience in a city where finding a place to call home can be extremely stressful. Himanshu was a great help and walked us through every detail and checked to ensure each part of the process if we were comfortable and happy. The entire team made us feel at home and most importantly felt genuine. The property itself is gorgeous and the area is great for everyone singles, families and is safe as well. Highly recommend stopping in if you are interested in finding a new place to call home without being pressured!
Very nice apartments and the Hayes Valley location is great. We got to tour with the manager of the community, I believe his name was himanchu (Indian guy with South African accent) who was very thorough and we were surprised how prepared he was for us. He had all the floor plans printed for us, knew what we wanted, when we wanted. We just began our search but are definitely considering hayes valley. Excellent experience.
Service requests are taken care of very quickly (someone always arrives within 24 hours - almost always the same day). Follow-up is quick and service is always very well done. Abraham, Romeo, and Mike take great care of things.
All settled and moved in recently to Hayes Valley Avalon. We feel at home! The community is so friendly, clean, and accommodating. Anthony and Elliot, community managers, give 5 star service, extremely timely with communication, and excellent customer service. I highly recommend making Avalon your next home!

Location is fantastic, Hayes Valley is awesome with good restaurants, the area is walkable and its easy to get out of the city. Management: 1 guy is great, the other cant be bothered even when you arrive on day 1 and they locked your key into your appartment. The appliances are quite cheap and very loud. Surprisingly, the range is good, but the only thing the washing machine can do is get your clothes wet. You cant even alter power levels on the microwave. There is very limited counter space in the kitchen. The neighbors are noisy and the courtyard creates an echo chamber. The hallways are confusing with mail boxes located at opposite ends of the building and good luck trying to remember the path through the maze within the building itself, you will get lost trying to find the elevator or stairs that serves the part of the building you live in. The underground parking is hard to access for a number of reasons. 1) the entrance is located in a narrow 1 way street that can only be accessed off a non-obvious side road after doing a u-turn on Octavia; 2) the panel for your fob is close to the door and the door opens towards your car, so Ive seen people either get out of their car or have to quickly put their car in reverse after flashing their fob, so the door doesnt open into their car. The garage itself is claustrophobic and it is hard to park even a compact car. The exit is very awkwardly placed and the path is so narrow that you need to be careful not to scrape the sides.

Great location and nice apartments. The staff is very professional. Rents are definitely up there but the property manager - Khatri actually put it all into perspective which made sense. Kimly and Trisha are great too. Would be my first choice in sometime when my current lease ends. 5 star to Mr.Khatri for giving short tour and for his time.

The building is amazing and the people managing it are better. I toured and loved the place but they didn’t have a 1 bedroom at the time. The second one freed up they contacted me and allowed me the opportunity to get it. They were fantastic during the paper work process and are always so friendly now that I live here. Great place!
What a difference a few months make. Sadly, a change in management within the last month or so has already had demonstrable negative impact. The new management is often absent and not responsive. I would definitely investigate multiple other places as an alternative to this property as it stands now if you want to live in the Hayes Valley neighborhood.

TLDR; well-priced modern apartment building with above-standard amenities and understandable tradeoffs concerning security and location.Ive lived at Avalon Hayes Valley for 6 months now. Large variety of units that all include W/D, modern appliances and finishes, good views, and natural light. The gym is decent, theres secure bike storage and package rooms. The East rooftop is spectacular, great for hosting.This building is VERY dog-friendly. You may come across the occasional accident outside on the apartment grounds, or an off-leash dog in common areas. Some people dont see this as an issue, you might. Pick your battles. I dont have a car, but the garage seems nice and spacious.All the maintenance staff on site are genuinely nice people, off-hours maintenance and emergency requests are typically handled swiftly as well. Ive contacted them off-hours about a door being broken and they handled it within 20 minutes.Now for a tradeoff... The West building on site seems to be more heavily targeted for criminal activity. Theres some trespassing or theft there every other month or so. The West bike room should be de-commissioned, its not as secure as the room in the East building.Another tradeoff... road noise! Oak st is probably one of the busiest streets in the entire city. M-F commute times are very loud, and pretty much all day you will hear so.. much.. traffic. City livin! I turn up my music and thats good enough for me :)Overall, Id say this building is a solid 4.5, leaning towards a 5/5.Simply put, you will not find a better modern apartment complex in the same neighborhood.

2022-01-26Ive lived in the building for 3 months now and I absolutely love it. The staff (Trish and David + the maintenance team) are SO friendly and truly go out of their way to help you and make you feel welcome. It is so nice to walk through the lobby and see smiling faces. I always look forward to coming home. :) The location (in the heart of Hayes Valley) cant be beat, and Im amazed at how quiet the building is. You will not regret choosing Avalon Hayes Valley!

2022-06-09I went on a tour by David who was the sweetest, accommodating contact I had.. and I signed up for a lease that same day. This was a great start to my experience here at Avalon Hayes Valley. Since then Rosalie has been above and beyond to help me with personal issues, questions and concerns, while encouraging me to meet my fellow neighbors. I feel taken care of here at Avalon Hayes Valley by the staff, which means a lot for me. The location is amazing and Avalon does live up to its name. 2022-07-08Avalon Hayes Valley management does not care about their residents.They are completely unresponsive to issues of security. They have not done a sufficient job in securing the Laguna Street bike room that was completely cleaned out by thieves, and refused to provide security camera footage upon request, despite the fact that there is an access controlled door and security camera within the bike room.Additionally, they are unresponsive to issues in the parking garage. I pay $475 per month for a dedicated parking spot, and on numerous occasions, the person that parks next to me parked significantly over the lines and I could not safely park my car. This happened three times. I took photos every single time and shared them with building management. They did not respond to my complaints and the issue was not addressed.The apartment itself is fine. Look elsewhere if you want building management that will actually address concerns raised by residents.

2022-03-12Moved here since the beginning of the year of 2022. It has been an absolute amazing experience! Trish and David facilitated my move-in process to make sure everything went smoothly. Romi and Ruben were also very efficient at their job whenever I needed maintenance help. The apartment was also at a perfect location close by the muni station, walkable to restaurants and coffee shops!

2021-06-21Great location, great amenities, great property, but above all, fantastic staff. David and Trish are the Encyclopedia Brittanica definition of great service. Theyre responsive, attentive, and kind people. Ive lived in multiple Avalon complexes, but Id say the staff at Hayes Valley has been by far the most outstanding. Both David and Trish have actually helped me out in a few tricky situations, going above and beyond to make my and other tenants lives easier.The complex by itself is already very nice and comfortable, but its the staffs warm and caring attitude that makes it feel like home.

2021-03-15I was looking for a place in the Hayes Valley neighborhood in September 2020. Avalon was in my final Top 3 apartment complexes. I was lucky to interact with Dave and Trish. They were a major reason why I chose Avalon along with the building perks. The maintenance staff is very responsive to requests (Romero and Michael are super helpful and prompt on repairs!) also, I have the best neighbors.. I never hear them.The building is new and I highly recommend the Avalon experience!
