This is for all the mad Truckers ..! You just dont know how the operations work on the water front. You have three operations at every shipping terminal on the waterfront . You have a ship operation , Union workers that are working the ship operation can only do that work . next you have a RAIL operation . Workers that are working a rail operation can only do the work ..! Next you have dock worker operation , now these are the union workers , clerks ,and TOP handler operators who work with you truckers ! ( Do you see the picture ) now the problem is you truck drivers come on a terminal and think every Clerk you see , and every top hander you see can work with you / service you . So when you come on the terminal you see a Clerk sitting there and a Top handler there you get mad because they wont help you , but theyre working against the ship and if they help you they will get fired because its a different operation. The problem is most of you guys dont have a clue how the work is done on the waterfront and most of you are jealous of the union workers.. as far as automation , me personally I dont give a s*** I have enough money to retire right now 4.5 million dollars net worth with no debt and I own both of my homes flat-out right. And I have a pension coming Too with full benefits . so how do you truckers like that . So all you truckers have a nice day.. and keep pumping with your non-union job and no benefits and wishing the worst on union workers..π.. you know the rules its not who get the first laugh , its not who get the second laugh , damn its not who get the third laugh .. its who get the last laugh that winsπ
I have reasons to believe the people whom move containers similar to Professional Drivers are in the same Classification of professionalism. In other words, the people who work here at APM, starting from Security Guards to Top Handlers, Transtainer operators are Professionals. The reason to persuade are their are no major accidents that have encountered when I visit APM.One theory I do want to share:We, you, them, us only live once and when this life is over is not like their is a line to get another life. Then we, you them, us shall educate the children to be good people in society, respect, love, does not matter what culture, take care of one another, look out for each other.Thank you,Grajeda, Herman
APM terminal at the Port of Los Angeles is doing better in the service department but still has glitches with can result on Long long wait times in line to enter and to get empty containers off inside. Automation is on the way...I am sorry for the cutbacks in manpower but in order to keep up on the global stage changes are being made. The staff had many years to improve their efficiency but the status quo remained.
I went there today and the line was long I waited I got to the pistol after 2 hours and when the gentleman asked me for my information I gave it to him he never prayed my ticket I had to wait another half hour then I went and got off my truck went to the pistols and I told the guy to tell the people that I never got my ticket and on the other side my my ticket came out of a different pistol I went to my spot and they helped me back another half an hour before I get my container off they need to get their s*** together because that place sucks it took me over three hours to get out of there in and out

2020-04-10Port stay is always few days which is a good thing because you can go out an relax with no problem. Bad part is that the cargo securing is done only in the last moment and you need to run around like a flash to manage to check everything. All in all is a good port to be in and is pretty close to some nice attractions, also Hollywood is not that far and its worth a visit(if you look very very close at the picture with the hill in the background, you can see the Hollywood signπ).

2020-03-10The Union workers have a sense of entitlement, like somehow they are better than others, when in fact they are no different than any other hardworking American trying to make a living. They dont want to be helpful to those of us that have to run the Ports, especially when you go to an area your not familiar with and instead of wanting to do their job and help they would rather be rude and condescending, like for some reason they are special and how dare anyone ask for help!!I got into an area that I was unfamiliar with and the spotter had not a care in the world to come over to help, just stared at me and than after I got into the location I needed to be he begins to yell at me telling me Im in the wrong spot, yet the whole time when I was lining up he never once said a word, just stared at me. I said Im unfamiliar and not sure where to go, where do you want me positioned?? He just yelled at me told me he would make me wait until he said so. Unbelievable, just down right rude. Never once tried to help, just stood there and than became belligerent and rude when I explained that I was not familiar with this area and where did he want me to go? Started telling me off and then had his supervisor come over and tell me to go to the end of the line and wait again. Mind you I did nothing wrong and he watched me the whole time and not one time did he ever stop and say hey youre in the wrong spot let me help you and when I did ask for help he was rude and snapped at me, again not one time did he ever lift a finger to try to help instead he was just downright rude and nasty and then wants to punish me someone who was new to the area and treat me like I did something wrong. Just blown away by this Despicable and uncalled for behavior by this Union employee who is supposed to be there to help customers and guide them. When I tried to explain that I was new and could he help me, he just laughed, yeah sure he replies. Wow!!! This company should be completely ashamed of this individual and remove him from his position as he has no business dealing with customers at all. Many of my family members have been union thru out the years and these people give the Unions a real bad name, just shameful!! Completely uncalled for behavior and APM should be ashamed of themselves and should want to do a better job at customer service. Disgusting and sad.
