Always have a great time here! The drive is long, but scenic. Usually take this way to look for snakes, sometimes its hit and miss but fun nonetheless

After visiting Julian we headed west into the desert suddenly. Although Treeless and rocks and sand everywhere, we found a great variety of desert bushes and cacti. Some very stunning. This is true wilderness, dotted here and there by settlements and RV parks.

Stayed at Palm Canyon RV Park in Anza Borrego Desert State Park. Beyond expectations. Gorgeous surroundings, stars galore, hikes incredible and sunrise perfect. Again, rangers exemplary! If ever in the area, will try and stay.

This is a great place to visit. The Palm Canyon trail is a great low elevation gain hike with a palm oasis at the end. Love the camp ground as well.

Looks like just restrooms and a pay keosk but follow the signs to a very cool visitors center. All sorts of information amd cool displays along with very helpful staff.
