I generally like Aloft hotels but the room in this one is terrible. Dirty, dusty and looks like it hasn’t been properly cleaned in a long while. Pulled the fridge out to try and lessen the noise and piles of dust underneath and behind it. It’s amazing to me that during a pandemic the rooms are not spotless. It’s unfortunate for the price and I would expect more out of a Aloft hotel. Will not be staying here again.
This was the worst stay at a Marriott brand hotel Ive ever had.Upon arrival, the whole building smelled like old weed. It did not change the entire stay. The front desk was not helpful -- when we checked in they just handed us the key with no info, and we had to prompt them to provide our room number. When we got to our room, it was WAY smaller than the photos let on. We could barely move around each other in the entrance. Also, the toilet was not working right, it would not flush fully. When we informed the front desk about it, they said they couldnt do anything about it and couldnt transfer our room. A working toilet is the BARE minimum for a hotel, and they couldnt do that. The bathroom door was clearly broken and would not close fully. This was a big problem for privacy when using the bathroom in such a small room. We also mentioned this to the front desk but again they said they couldnt transfer rooms. They tried to fix it with marginal improvement at best. The shower gel in the room went empty on Day 1 of our stay. We asked the front desk to bring some so we could shower that night, and they said they would. They never came. When we encountered the cleaning staff right across the hall from us, we asked if they could make up our room and refill the shower gel. They were confrontational and told us to request that from the front desk. When we came back to the hotel later, the only making up that was done to the room was fresh towels and thankfully the refilled shower gel. Nothing was cleaned, and the beds were not made.Overall, the room was beat up and felt unclean and unkept. The furniture was stained, the USB plugs for charging did not work, and the bathroom showed obvious signs of poor upkeep (rusted vents, soapscum, water stains). I was happy to leave.
I just love the aloft hotels, and this one was no exception. It fells like coming home. Aloft is the only chain where I actually feel comfortable unpacking as everything is so clean. My complements to Steven and the rest of the team at the check in counter for splendid service.
Anthony and the tall slim Brotha from Texas were the only two people that spoke to us coming and going. 🤔 Very nice location. They are always accommodating in every way. My only concern was the parking gate not working for a week that I was there. Other than that, love The Aloft
Cons: Stay started off rough!! Our flight was delayed so we arrived at midnight! The night auditor Veronica couldn’t find our reservation, then was able to accommodate. The housekeeper woke us up banging on the door at 8amPros: M & M which is Marty and Makeda!!!! Awesome customer service. They both were so professional & had such positive attitudes. Even in my most frustrating moment Markeda was able to hear me out and just listen!!! I thank you 🙏🏾 Marty was the cherry on top of a wonderful stay you are so appreciated!!! People like Marty make the memories!!! I am forever grateful and thank for the 2 of you..
I really love the hip decor the rooms the pool and most everything about the place. What I don’t like is the greed of the prices on everything else. $15 for a snack breakfast is ridiculous, $12 dollars for a cocktail that every other bar charges $8. I won’t be back because of this only.
Marty is the best !!! Superior customer service 👏 🙌. I travel frequently, for to get the customer service I got from Marty and crew. I thought I was at a five star 🌟 hotel. Marty keep up the good work !! The world 🌎 needs more Martys !! Thank You for making my family feel at home 🏡 🏡.
Our experience was wonderful! Everything looked and felt updated and well maintained. We had bit of trouble with our room smelling of pot due to a neighboring guest but the speed in which our need was taken care of was excellent. The front desk immediately offered us a room change and sent housekeeping up to help resolve the issue. Everyone was friendly and I’ll definitely recommend this location for future visits.
Great location near LAX. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed there 4 times and each time the hotel printer isn’t working. A printed copy of PCR results is essential for my travel. Hotel management needs to get this sorted. Thank you to Keilani for printing for me this trip.
I was pleased with the staff for their friendliness and attentiveness to our needs. Was happy to arrive at the hotel being greeted by an awesome team after a long trip! The manager Hugo was also accommodating and helpful on the phone. However, the room itself may have lacked the Marriott experience. Bathroom wallpaper was peeling off and was not fully cleaned, plus did not have body soap available. But when I requested for addition soap, the staff was super responsive and gave us a few soap bars. Again, appreciate the staff and thank you for making our stay pleasant, but had a higher expectations of the room.
This was a wonderful stay! The staff was SO friendly, stellar service!! The pool was beautiful and perfect weather right near the beach (not too hot, not too cold) with tons of food options walking distance, and DoorDash delivers right to the hotel room! Of course, right near the airport too with free 24h shuttles. I had such a lovely experience, I’m so glad I chose them! The hotel has fun, young vibes and honestly the staff is the friendliest, most helpful I’ve ever experienced! Also rooms are surprisingly spacious, lots of counter space/surface area to keep things on in bathroom and bedroom.
I’ve become kind of addicted to hybrid mattresses, part springs , part memory foam. Do these days, I really need a pillow top mattress or something with a little memory foam to have a good night’s sleep. That’s what I have at home and I just sleep better with that kind of set up. So, while I liked everything about the hotel, my only wish was that the beds were a little less firm and had the type of bed I described. Other than that, the Aloft is cute, hip, clean, well maintained, stylish, across the street from a Starbuck’s and a a grocery store, with a pleasant and efficient staff. Last thing breakfast ends at 9:00 am. In this day and age , especially if you’re not serving a true lunch menu, which they are not, I think breakfast should extend to 11:00 am. Also great complimentary coffee, strong and flavorful. I never went across the street to the Starbucks.
The staff members were absolutely LOVELY! This was my first time traveling to Los Angeles and I was traveling by myself. Any time I needed help with something (like just needed 3 aaa batteries) they were so kind and just happy to help. They made me feel very secure during my stay. 💜
We got to our room and it smelled like cigarettes. It was horrible and noxious. I had to leave the door open for several hours to make it bearable. The shower had a Bliss dispenser that was almost empty and when I asked for a refill the next day, they removed it and replaced it with DryBar amenities. The front desk also told me I could take the pool towels to the beach and when I tried to do that the next day, the manager scolded me for trying to take them off property. The fire sprinkler in the bathroom was detoriated and rusted with rust water coming down the wall. Overall, it was a pretty substandard experience from what I was used to. This Aloft experience is unlike any other Aloft Ive stayed at.
The room looks hip and fun. However, the room was a little on the small side. The bean bag chair was not useful and the blanket was super thin. There was mildew growing in the shower, which was the worst thing to notice. Parking in $20 a night, which is more than is reported on the website. Often you can hear dogs barking. I think its nice to allow pets, but getting placed next door to others who allow their dogs to bark at all hours of the day and night is not fun. If I stayed there again, I would ask to NOT to be put near rooms w dogs. The location for those who love El Segundo is the best part of this hotel!
Overall nice stay..in a nice area good eats and grocery stores nearby.. i loved that the room window opens and pool hours were 7am to 10pm nice lounge, bar, fireplace outside area and pool table to hang out. Nice size hotel not too big fast check in. Mircowave downstairs..Cons.. small bathroom for a family of 4 i used the bathroom downstairs, i kids were able to buy expensive movies off the tv, it was not locked.. 24.99 each..no ice machine but bags of ice downstairs
Booked this hotel because of good reviews and the fact we would be arriving early afternoon and wanted to enjoy. However, our flight was 4 hours delayed getting in so we didn’t get to spend the time at the pool and surroundings like we wanted. But from the moment we made the call for shuttle service once our flight landed, the staff was very pleasant, friendly, courteous and accommodating. The shuttle arrived quickly. The driver was very nice and helpful. Check-in process was quick and easy. The hotel ambience was nice and room was very clean. Love the hotel vibe. There were several guests quietly enjoying lounging in the lobby area as well as outside around the pool. There were no sketchy people hanging around or outside. Felt very safe. Had a great nights sleep. Shuttle service the next morning runs every 30 minutes at 05 after the hour and they were right on time. There were several people waiting along with a flight crew. More than would fit in the shuttle and it had us worried. Yet they were pro-active in recognizing this and immediately called for back-up which showed up immediately. There was a different driver that morning who also was very nice and accommodating! Thank you Aloft El Segundo for the first and last impressions! I will definitely book here again on a layover!
I enjoyed my stay. Great staff, great location and I loved how close we were to Manhattan Beach. The grocery store and Starbucks across the street and free shuttle to and from the airport was greatly appreciated. And, out of all the surrounding hotels, parking at the aloft was the cheapest! The only complaint that I have is that housekeeping was not available due to COVID. I stayed for four days and my room was not cleaned or sanitized at all! I had to hunt down someone for fresh towels and bedding. I also wish that the pool and bar stayed open later.
We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay. It’s conveniently located close to store, food, and coffee establishments. The hotel itself was kept up especially during this time. They have a mini market behind the checkin desk, where you can purchase snacks and beverages. There are free small bags of ice as well. Rooms were spacious, and updated. There was no daily room cleaning due to covid restrictions during our stay. If you need clean towels, you just had to call the front desk and let them know. We did use the pool one day, and it was well kept. Towels are available right inside the pool area. All in all, we would stay at this location again!!!!
Now that aLoft is fully integrated into the Marriott family, this aLoft location is again one of my top places to stay close to LAX. The staff is friendly and attentive, the rooms are very clean, and the little food shop is amply stocked and has reasonable prices. I always check the HVAC and exhaust vents to see how much attention the housekeeping staff pays to the rooms and they, and the rest of the room, were impeccably cleaned.
The overall room was nice but there was hair on the linen and in bathroom. The room was hot but the maintenance brought us a fan. We had a nice view of the pool area with a kind of walk out balcony. Our parking fee were waived but it 20 a day for park. It’s a 100 hold deposit that we was not aware of until we made it to check in but it is refundable. All of the staff was very nice and greeted us coming and going. Hotel was in a great location every where we wanted to go was 20 mins or less.
Always exciting and the best place to stay near LAX and beach areas. Customer service in all departments are by far excellent! Mia and Sharoll at the front desk friendly and will give you a smooth and quick check in and if in need of assistance they will get it done quickly. Housekeeping staff are quick to respond for any request. Maintenance staff Brian is very polite and knows what he is doing. Carmen that handles breakfast very very helpful. And lastly, Daria the bartender at XYZ Lounge is a wonderful host. Aloft El Segundo is 5 stars and if looking for something boutique style and modern this is your place to stay! This is are continued home away from home.
The room was very musty, and had hair all over the shower walls and floor from a previous guest. I asked them to clean it and they refused, saying it gets clean after you stay 3 days. This was the worst hotel experience I have had. I expected much better from a Marriott property, and was extremely disappointed. Avoid this place if at all possible. Every aspect was a disappointment.
We stayed at Aloft after driving into LA from Denver for one night before our flight the next day. The staff were super friendly and let us check in a few hours early. Rooms and lobby were very clean and Covid protocols were good. We were taking our dog to a nearby boarding facility so she didnt stay with us, but I did notice that although the hotel is dog friendly there isnt anywhere for them to go to the bathroom around the hotel. Only complaint is that our room on the 5th floor, overlooking the pool, was loud. It was a Friday night and there were a lot of people hanging out and drinking by the pool late into the night. I had to use my headphones to get back to sleep at 1am.
I live here in California, but my home is too small to accommodate my out of town family. My cousin and her family came to California for 1wk. They cheked out of 2 different hotels until we found your hotel. They also said they will come back and this is where they will stay!! I loved it!!
Another great experience at the Aloft in El Segundo. Terrific location (7 minutes to Manhattan Beach and less that 25 minutes from my daughters apartment by USC). Because of this consistent experience, I will go out of my way to stay at the property. As a loyal Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Platinum member, I rank this hotel in my top 5 favorite hotels when you look at the overall experience and #1 for properties listed as a airport hotel. Thanks for being there for us travelers!
This is not a level 5 Marriott. Or at least, it shouldn’t be. I’ve stayed at a Level 1 Marriott and it was far superior.my gold status not recognized, I got no welcome gift, nothing that I’m supposed to get as a gold member.More importantly than that during COVID - the room was SO dirty. Floor was sticky, fingerprints all over the sink, and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. There were also cockroaches. Gross! There were two and those are just the ones I found.I am so disappointed in Marriott am rethinking my loyalty if this is what they now consider a level 5 hotel thats hundreds of dollars a night.
When I arrived I was placed in a room with a noisy vent in the bathroom and no central air/heat. The bench under the television appeared greasy with hand prints. I informed the staff and they said they would have someone check the vent. I told them I had to leave shortly and I did not want anyone in the room while I was not present and to send someone when I returned. When I arrived back to the hotel they informed me that someone had checked the vent, which I did not want them to do while I was not present. They had me do a room change and I noticed the bench in the new room was also dirty.
Staff were very accommodating while we had to wait and get our car fixed in the lobby. I did some work as the weather was nice. I enjoyed sitting close to the pool to relax while working. It was quiet enough that I could focus. Would definitely consider staying there the next time Im in LA, not too far from down town either.
I stayed at other ALOFT HOTELS before, but this one by far was the WORST. The one thing I hate about the ALOFT HOTELS there are NO MICROWAVES in the rooms..Not only did I not have a microwave, I didnt have no trash bags in NONE of the cans, NO TOILETRIES, COFFEE POT BROKEN, and BROKEN APOLOGIZES FROM STAFF. I arrived on Thursday and left Monday. Policy is hotel does Housekeeping after 3rd day UNLESS YOU REQUEST IT. From Thursday - Monday I requested service, asked for towels, trashbags, coffee pot(which turned out to be electrical problems in socket) but hey they brung a new coffee pot .Anyway even after calling lobby, talking to EVERY STAFF ON DAY AND NIGHT SHIFT, I NEVER got housekeeping, I only got towels after 9pm one time the guy in the lobby had me wait for hours when I called back and said can I get some towels he said he forgot and brought them up after 12am. From Thursday - Monday NOBODY PICKED UP MY DIRTY TOWELS, TRASH, CLEAN ROOM OR CHANGE LINEN. Needless to say I had o buy my own trash bags, and accumulated 10 SETS OF DIRTY TOWELS and 5gallon bag of trash and boxes. When I checked out I told the 2 ladies what happen and they said this hotel favorite line..Im so sorry this happened to you, I said NO IM SORRY I CAME HERE and heard that since Thursday at 3pm now its MONDAY and NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT. LIKE..NO I DONT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY DONT VALUE YOU AS A PAYING CUSTOMER
The Staff is so friendly and courteous. They always make sure that we have everything that we need. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food at the bar is so good.I always stay at this property when I am on business, and have stayed there on my own time as well.
Great hotel, nice and quiet. Its modern, has a cool outdoor lounger and a cool pool. Plus the bar lounge is net. Only thing I didnt like was the bathroom set up in the rooms. I hate the sliding doors that dont close all the way which are similar to the Moxy brand hotels. Oh and great check in experience!
This hotel was so convenient with super shuttle service to LAX. Transportation was readily available to all surrounding cities/areas. The pool and outdoor areas were clean, and the firepits in the evenings were wonderful! I was disappointed that I could not get a room refresh with a four-night stay. We had to request towels and put trash out in the hall to get it picked up.
Sheryl has been really helpful during post-stay and resolved the room charges really quick. We were supposed to stay at the Fairfield Inn but got moved to Aloft and we were accommodate perfectly on both sides. It has been a great stay at the Aloft and great customer service.
This was my first time staying at Aloft. I stayed at other hotels in the area and had horrible experience when previously in town. I stayed at Aloft for 3 days & 2 nights and Cheryl at the front desk made me a lifetime customer with her amazing customer service. I could tell she is just genuine person. I was flying all night & just exhausted, not realizing I got in before check-in and didn’t even realize but she was able to accommodate me anyway. I will definitely be back!
I have been a loyal Marriott customer dating back to legacy Starwood 2001. I am a Lifetime Platinum member. Mt experience at the Aloft in El Segundo has always been one of my best. The location is superb. Five minutes from LAX, Five miles from the new Rams/Chargers Football Stadium and less than 10 minutes to Manhattan Beach. The staff is ALWAYS warm and friendly. I am from the east coast and spend time in the LA area often with my daughter going to USC. I can make choices to stay closer to campus but choose not to because of my great experience at the Aloft. I have stayed at over 400+ hotels for business and leisure in my lifetime. I rank the Aloft in El Segundo in my top 3 best experiences. When you combine quality with value, they are #1. Thank you staff at Aloft El Segundo for continuing to make your property feel like my home away from home.
I highly recommend staying at Aloft, especially if you’re flying into LAX. The hotel staff were very welcoming and the entire hotel and room were clean. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the curtains in the room are great at maintaining the room dark and blocking sunlight from awakening you.
This hotel is very nice. I like the decor and that theres plenty of parking.I did have to request housekeeping clean the refrigerator and toilet. I also removed a pillowcase that wasnt clean. The housekeeping manager was quite rude and abrasive, when she walked in. Even claiming she didnt see the nastiness in the refrigerator. So I put the flashlight on and she shut-right-up.Overall, it was a good stay.Parking is not free. The hotel is close to restaurants and other hotels. Just a quarter mile from the 105 fwy.
Seriously one the nicest places I have stayed. Rooms are perfect. They have a cool bar with outdoor seating and cool firepits. Close to a lot of good places to eat and close to the beach. Staff was super accommodating. Definitely on my permanent places to stay when I travel.
It was a last minute decision to stay overnight at a hotel. I was in town staying with family but needed a moment to decompress. While out taking a drive I decided to look for a hotel. The rates were good at the Aloft El Segundo so I checked in. I was originally only planning to stay one night but decided to stay two. It was the best rest I had in days.
This is a small swanky hotel very close to LAX. They were accommodating to my pet, which is why I chose them. The room was clean and comfortable. I didnt partake in any of the amenities due to my schedule, but there is a pool, a small computer workstation area, a spacious front lounge in the lobby, and a full bar. The walls are pretty thin, which was my only complaint. Overall my stay was pleasant, and I would stay here again.
I arrived around 11pm & left about 2am. Couldn’t take the filth. The bathroom appeared to have been used. Wet spots on the floor, the tub was dirty with black remnants of some sort. Linen was not clean. Seems like they put every guest on the 4th floor that evening because it was loud from end to end. I left after waking up in the middle of the night and noticing the linen
This hotel is perfect for traveler using LAX airport. The airport shuttle service operates every 30mins and hotel was verybclose to the airport (10mins). Free charge of pet stay was also great. However, they gave me a room that has opened bottle and used soap as there was still in COVID 19 pandemic.
The hotel room was ok. Clean and quiet. The staff was nice. I appreciated the free shuttle to and from the airport. I did not like that they charge $18 for parking / night. I included breakfast in the package and that was a mistake. They say continental but I have never experienced such a poor choice. Only carbs. Not even milk and cereal.
The staff is amazing. The property is well kept. The location is perfect. I will continue to stay here. The only reason I’m not giving a 5 star review is because the entire property constantly smells of marijuana! No effort is made to cover the smell or enforce the no smoking rule.
The hotel overall is nice and updated, but the lobby area was soooo loud and even being in a room located way down the hall, we could hear the music and noise. It would be a nice environment if you want to drink etc, but we had an early flight the next morning. Also, the free breakfast is limited and we were told we could have one muffin and one fruit...not like any other free breakfast I’ve had at a hotel before. The room was small, but the bed was comfortable, the shower was nice and bathroom was clean.
This is a great place especially if you are a millennial. Our company puts us up there and they take great care of us.If I was traveling it would not be my first choice of hotels mostly because I am not in the 20 to 40 age group, which seems to be their target audience.Fantastic pool, nicely appointed rooms, when its open the workout room is fantastic. Its not their fault its not open its are silly California government.Plenty of food around the neighborhood, and a very safe place to stay.
Very abrupt front desk check in, broken keyless door entry (not broken but cover removed), but an incredible bartender. We used it for the Stay n Fly package, plan on 20-30 minutes to get to your terminal depending on traffic and if its after Bradley terminal or not, and it worked out fine. The outgoing is every 30 minutes and the incoming, well, we had to call after waiting 20 minutes. They did send someone though right away.
Unfortunately, and as much as I hate to write a bad review during these difficult times, I have to say my room was not clean. It had stains all over, I saw greasy hand prints all over the furniture. Stains and bad smell in the toilet. Carpet has a thick line of dirt all around...the hotel needs deep cleaning!
I absolutely love staying at aloft Ive stayed stayed twice and will definitely be coming again and again! The staff is so friendly helpful and kind. The rooms are a great size and the views are always amazing. The restrooms are so gorgeous and always remarkably clean. Parking is very affordable compared to most hotels and they are pet friendly! My dogs are always treated as if theyre guests themselves with treats/goodie bags of their own. I will absolutely be coming back and letting everyone else know about this great friendly place!
My husband and I took a night away from our local home on the occasion of my returning from a solo business trip. We enjoyed the cheerful and colorful decor of the lobby bar and the room. The bar is a fun place to hang out. Our room was attractively decorated, impeccably clean and spacious, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom very well designed, including the well-lit shower with a rim to prevent water leaks, glass sliding doors, good-quality towels. We would have preferred to have bath soap as opposed to gel in a dispenser.
Convenient location with plenty of restaurants and stores within a short walk. The decor is more contemporary with a darker theme, and upbeat background music in common areas. Although rooms seem smaller than average, they are acceptable for a short stay. The black slate tile shower floor looks nice, but exceptionally slippery.Overall not much to complain about. Convenient location and reasonable rates make it easy to recommend for future stays.
Sunday August 4th staff was 5 stars. From superb hospitality at check in through check out. This was my one year anniversary with wife and we stayed here due to the proximity of dinner and evening festivities. Once we were settled in our room, we came down for drinks at 5p where the bartender was very nice and accommodating. Afterwards we went to our room to get ready for the evening and in our room your staff left flowers, a Anniversary gratulations card (signed by staff) and nice slice of moose cake. It made the beginning part of our stay perfect! We will be back for my birthday weekend in October and look forward to it. The hotel itself is clean, modern and the place to stay and be will either leisure or business. Love you guys!!!! Thanks for everything!!!!!!
Was put up here because of a glitch with our flight. Was pleasantly surprised with this modernly decorated, clean, comfortable hotel. Front desk people were very nice and accommodating even though the airline hadnt informed them about the voucher. There was a concert at the motel that night and they had the forethought to put us on the far side of the motel so we wouldnt be disturbed.
Loved my stay at aloft! Does not feel like a typical hotel. Very welcoming, comfortable feel. Staff was very upbeat and available, not like they were working. The decor is very modern and open and just feels like somewhere you can relax. I loved that you can easily sit outside and enjoy an after work refresher
The rooms are small and feel cramped. Only one night table in a two queen room. The bathroom shower floors are so slippery, more than one of us almost fell because the shower mat was not stuck correctly to the tile. The lobby and dining area is small, the front desk didnt have any toothbrushes on hand if you forget yours. Staff was ok. When we checked in they didnt activate our room card for the parking. Parking is $18 per night which is a bit steep. Not sure why this Aloft is so mediocre compared to other locations I have stayed at across the US.
Terrible customer service. Upon check in, I complained at the lack of a ramp or elevator lift from bottom level parking garage to lobby level. There are very steep stairs and if you park on the bottom you have to carry luggage up the stairs. No ADA compliance. Receptionist kept answering new phone calls and helping other people in line behind me while she was checking me in. Apparently this is a hub for airline employees and she ignored me to service airport employees although I was next in line . I waited 30 minutes until another representative came to help me get checked in.Bathrooms are disgusting and have mold in tile grout everywhere. Room stinks of must and body odor.
The staff was so friendly it really made my stay great. I was in town for my wedding and they were so great to all my guest. The bartender was amazing! I wish they had a free continental breakfast though. But overall I enjoyed my stay. Rooms were small, but clean the food at the bar was delicious. But they have no movie channels.
Ive been staying at this hotel every week for a long term business project. The hotel is virtually brand new and appears to be nice quality, but still has its cons. The rooms are sometimes humid, and quite chilly in the winter months. Luckily the staff can provide extra blankets and space heaters upon request. Overall the hotel is clean, but I have found the room cleaning service to be average. I found a previous travels clothes in the drawer once and have gone nights when they forgot to clean my room. Now I just leave the go green for extra point tag on my door every night. I always try to get a non-connecting room because they can be very noisy. Overall the hotel environment is lively and fun. Staff are mostly welcoming, especially in the morning. Food options are the WXYZ bar at night and grab and go in the morning. Decent coffee and tea is available every morning in the lobby. If passing through for a night or two this hotel is a good option.
I arrived at 4:00 for my 3:00 check in time. I was told that they did not have our room ready. I waited until 4:30 for a room. I am disabled, and standing there waiting for so long caused me great pain. In the evening, as we returned to our room, there was some sort of event going on by the pool. A woman was screaming into a microphone. Is was extremely loud, and there were many clients complaining. All during the night, there was so much noise up and down the hallways that you would have thought there was a party going on. Also, at 2:30 in the morning, there was a staff person LOUDLY (and for about 10 minutes) emptying a trash can down the hall from my room. Are you kidding??! In addition, during every interaction I had with the staff (who were polite and very nice), they were extremely short staffed. I was told at one point that I could not speak to the manager, as she was working on a problem. The young lady at the front desk was sweet, but working by herself, with many clients to deal with. Also, this hotel touts themselves to be super pet friendly. They even said that they would have treats for your pet at check in. Not so. The area to go and take your pet to the bathroom, was some distance from the hotel. Not good in the middle of the night. We noticed that this hotel had a sign welcoming American Airlines employees. I saw several of those employees at the front desk clearly very unhappy with the noise and situation in general. We just needed a place to stay that night. We were not expecting a luxury experience at that price. We were hoping to be able to get some sleep, though.
Nice place. The door to the bathroom slides and its not the right size to the door. It would be awkward if you are sharing a room with friends because you can see inside. Pillows are very squishy. Other than that its a great hotel. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Shout out to Nia at front desk for an awesome helpful check in. And shout out to housekeeper Carlos for bringing us everything we needed no matter how small it was.
Nice, but small rooms. Quirky, trendy style. Lobby is a bar and loud (not a plus). Smells like alcohol. I would have loved to stay here if I was 20 and single, or trying to have an affair on a business trip. Room ac did not work well. Front desk was nice, but provided incorrect information and wasn’t good overall. Dogs can stay here free (great feature), but you cannot crate them (bad feature). Will not return to Aloft.
Katlin at the front desk was amazing! I called very early in the morning from the airport and she was patient and friendly. She let me know I could check in early, as there was a room cleaned and ready. When I arrived she greeted me with a warm welcome. The hotel is close to the airport and the shuttle arrived soon after I called to request.AJ the FB manager assisted me in choosing my breakfast item. He was also patient with my jet lag and made some great suggestions. He was very pleasant. Breakfast was good. The room was clean and quiet with an upbeat decor. The bed super comfy. The Aloft is a nice change from the sister properties. It has a chill vibe.I will stay here again!
This place is awesome and I stay pretty often when I visit family down in the city. It’s lively at night and the staff are beyond welcoming. I even got a free drink from the bar when I stayed in my birthday! .. I have yet to use the pool but it always looks so clean and like lots of fun. The rooms are nice and clean and I just love the pool table and lounge area down stairs with those nice comfy seats!I will definitely be making this my go-to hotel when I travel :)Did I mention that parking was a piece of cake!! I’ve never had a problem finding a space even when getting back late. So rare for that area
I’ve stayed 4 nights so far while I move into my new home. So far the customer service has been awful. Hey management, maybe check and re-train your concierge staff. They are rude and don’t seem to care about the inconveniences I’ve already reported. And As a guest, I shouldn’t have to see your staffs phone visible while playing YouTube or their vape pen sitting behind the desk. It was clear the woman wanted to rush me away from the desk. Convenient location, but the customer service has turned me away. Housekeeping has been amazing, way friendlier than your front desk staff. I stayed here 3 months ago and had a great stay. As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I was expecting a lot more for what I’m paying for. I hope management will see this and take action right away.
The staff makes you feel welcome at every encounter. Amenities such as a free airport shuttle, bar (open til 10pm), and breakfast make this an ideal short layover. Plenty of food options nearby as well as a large grocery store and drugstore adjacent. Clean, comfortable, modern—ideal for a short stay but well located for a base to beach cities too.
We stayed here as an overnight crash pad to make things easier for our morning flight from LAX. Would never stay here for any longer period. We felt embarrassed from the moment we walked through the door as we had to walk our luggage through/by the bar and supposed restaurant area to check in. First impression was of a dark and dingy place. Bar area looked tacky and we were really not sure what type of customers were sitting at the bar. Having been on an extended journey, and stayed in many hotels, this was comparatively the worst. However, the staff were terrific and I give them full marks as I’m sure it takes some energy of their part to overcome the poor facility toward maintaining such a positive interactive style. After checking in and going to our room, we noted the lack of a finished ceiling with pipes displayed...what an awful decorum reflective of a dingy hotel. If this is supposed to reflect some hip “coolness”, it does not. Having absorbed all this, and with the now “less than adequate initial perception” created by the environment, we entered our room with low expectations and it didn’t disappoint. The room was equally drab, suitable only as an overnight airport crash pad and nothing more. The room has no easy place to unpack luggage, it seemed dark. Bathroom/shower area was clean but had a cheap look and feel. Bed was comfortable but was of a cheap construction. It’s OK to stay here if one chooses, the staff does a good job and it seemed clean, just keep any facility quality expectations in check.
My travel companion frequently stays in Aloft properties so when I suggested booking our room here, he was pretty happy. I have to say that the property exceeded my expectations. I have enjoyed drinks in the lobby bar before, after work with cohorts, but never stayed overnight. Our room was clean, cute, and comfortable. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient! AJ at the bar and Dominick at the front desk took great care of me!
Lovely modern hotel. Basic amenities, but good place to stop for a day or two. The bar and the great bartenders are more than deserving of your tips. The heated pool is nice, as well as the gym area. Friendly and compassionate staff, kudos to you guys. Plenty of eateries, in the surrounding area. Ill definitely be returning for a short stay.
I like this hotel. It is clean, the beds are comfortable enough and the windows are neat. The clock is a piece of garbage, throw them out. There are plenty of plugs near the bed which is nice. They dont have a tub. I think a shower stall is fine, but if I work long hours or do an amazing amount of walking I want a bath after. The pool looks nice, but I always forget trunks. They lobby is clean and modern. Im not a fan of the bar or the music.
I had a late check-in that cancelled my reservation. The agent working at 3am was so awesome and understanding. She helped me and made things easy (especially because I was exhausted from driving far). The next morning when we checked out, the front desk agent was also informative and they all made things go so smooth. I definitely recommend this facility! Thank you night auditor and morning from desk customer service staff!!
I typically love the Aloft brand of hotels. Ive live in the El Segundo area so have been around to see its construction and was looking forward to my stay. Hotel staff was great, as were social amenities of bar, pool table, etc in lobby. Room itself was a slight disappointment. Room had a musty smell, carpet felt slightly damp, some of tile work in bathroom seemed sloppily done with gaps and maybe plaster smears making white discoloration. Also there was no heat, they did provide a space heater though which I’ve never experienced at a hotel before. There was some large covered object taking up one of the corners of the room (possible a crib or rollaway bed?) that should have been removed before a guest’s arrival. The negatives of the room were made up for by the fabulous time I had in the pool area. The outdoor fire pits were a great touch and the fact that the pool was heated to a hot enough temperature to be able to enjoy it on a 60 degree night was beyond amazing.
Chose this hotel b/c it was close to the airport and affordable. Check in staff was not friendly but certainly competent. The heated pool is nice. They have a very trendy indoor/outdoor space that I liked very much. It includes a fireplace, pool table, bar, lounge area. I heard another guest compare it to the Custom hotel. Prob b/c they are both rehabs of older motels. However aloft is way better. I wish my room were a little cleaner. Other than that it was a fine stay.
Wonderful stay, clean rooms, great location and the staff - all super nice! I believe that one of the most important things about any business is the front line in customer service. The Aloft hit the nail on the head with their top notch staff. 2 names I can remember are Viviana and Sinui. They both work the front desk and both are awesome. Very good at their job and super nice. They had me laughing the whole time and hooked me up with a bike to ride around the area with. Great people. Great job aloft.
The hotel is close to the airport, stuff is friendly and welcoming. The pool is amazing and clean. The Fitness Center is clean and modern and open 24h. I loved my bed it was so extrem comfy. Opposite from the hotel are lot of stores for daily needs. The hotel is quiet and WLAN is really everywhere available with a strong and stable connection. The is also a small snackshop at the hotel lobby for drinks and snacks. I would rate the hotel overall 8,5/10
Disappointed with entire experience except the ride back to the airport. From check-in, where neither Bonvoy level was acknowledged, to bar service, to maintenance needed this was the most disappointing stay Ive enjoyed in a very long time.Staff need to stop focusing on each other and acknowledge patrons. Rooms should be checked after each check-out to ensure things are in proper working order. The shower in this room (#3206) was a pool after a single shower requiring a call for maintenance, who spent 30 minutes in our room at approximately 11:00pm. Problem resolved however very inconvenient given our late arrival and planned early departure.Shuttle driver was the best experience! Friendly but not too friendly. Enjoyed his demeanor and would hire him in a minute!
I had a great time hosting my business retreat here, and the catering (the food was really good btw!) helped take a lot off my plate as opposed to events Ive had to DIY everything. A beautiful space, beautiful and convenient guest rooms-- altogether a great experience and a great place to host a workshop or small business event for the weekend. Very relaxing and beautiful guest rooms too.
I always stay within the Marriott family. I chose this hotel based on location and price. Lobby was dirty...I didn’t even want to sit on the couch in the lobby...not a great first impression. All of the tables throughout the hip, brightly decorated lobby were disgusting...rings from drinks the night before sticky spills on the armrest of the pleather sofa (easily could have been wiped off) not a great first impression. I liked the choices of snacks in the mini gift shop, however they were WAY over priced! Even for a hotel lobby...first room I checked into clearly the guest before had smoked in...they were kind and quickly found me a new room. But shouldn’t housekeeping have caught that to prevent a guest in a smoke free hotel to be checked into a room that was so awful??? I love Marriott...but this was very disappointing...hopefully they can get things turned around. This fun hotel has potential...fingers crossed!
Aloft Staff is so great! They were welcoming when we walked in and very quick and helpful during check in. They offered us a complimentary bottle of wine and also provided great food recommendations despite the late hour. Rooms are clean and very modern, and was a great place for a quick stay before our flight. Would recommend to anyone!
Extremely disappointed. The pictures posted online have no relation to what the hotel looks like. We were given a room in the first floor. Apparently it was a suite but it did not feel like one. Definitely not worth the $$. The corridors smell like the sewers. The only thing good about the room was be bed. The bed was very comfortable. Nothing else was good besides that. There was no proper breakfast served. They had granola bars, and cereal for breakfast which had to be purchased. Then there was no place to sit and set. There was like 3 or 4 tables which were dirty. We could order some scrambled eggs and potatoes. All together it was a very poor breakfast setting. At night the lobby turns into a bar. Absolutely not family friendly. Dont even get me started on parking. There is very less Parking for the hotel. If additional parking is needed one had to find parking in the neighbouring Fairfield Inn hotel which is also full. A lot of people park on the street and then take their car early morning. If you are looking for a good family friendly place, this is not the hotel.
This is a super hip and cool hotel with a bar thats really jumping. Its unusual to see a hotel bar thats open until 1am, but thats the case here, and locals will even come here to drink. The outdoor pool is also open unusually late, unlike most hotels that close it by 10pm. Unfortunately, for as cool and fun as this hotel is, the staff has a very corporate vibe and refuses to accommodate guests simple requests. Its an unusual tact to take for the service industry, and its caused me to stay elsewhere, as there are plenty of nearby options.
Ignoring the fact that the hotel is new and it was my first A Loft stay, I appreciate the overall style of this place Its modern and chic and definitely worth spending a little more here than at budget hotel chains. The hotel itself is not huge, only goes up a few floors (up to 9 floors IIRC) and first floor counts as the third floor. We stayed on the 8th and despite the location, we didnt notice any noise from the street or airplanes. We had really good rest (5 nights). The bed was super comfy, and we had just flown in from Westin Chosun in Seoul! The room is clean but super small. We had to move the bean-bag (not the same kind from the 90s) chair into the other corner just so we had space for our suitcases. Our shower didnt drain properly from the first night, but maintenance quickly fixed that for us while we were away. Thanks to reception/front desk of the quick handling of that. The worst thing about the hotel though, is the rooms door. Its either too thin or lacks sound deadening material around it or both. Its SUPER LOUD throughout the day as cleaning crew go through the hall and people checking in and out and having conversations in the hall. It literally feels like we left the door open and I learned to stop checking the door after I realized its just how it is. It also didnt help that our room was the first room after the elevator, so we had a whole floors worth of traffic to deal with.
Aloft El Segundo - the hidden gem!Review of Aloft El Segundo - Los Angeles AirportReviewed 1 week agoI cannot begin to tell you how amazing this hotel was for my stay and family that came to visit as well. Besides the funky cool design, the staff is amazing. Made us reservations for nails, food, and fun! Keena Marie and Thuy always had the smiles ready - went above and beyond the call of duty. Ashley and Rashell saved the day helping with business needs and one emergency. I can be very demanding, and they did everything with GRACE!AJ makes the best Bourbon and Orange Fox Trot Tango concoction, and Daria makes you feel sexy and fun. Perfect for the end of busy days.I stayed here for 5 days, and want to come back; they made me feel like special family. Gym and pool were awesome, and the areas with fire pits let us have visiting space that was so unique - almost like our own private home. Will definitely seek out Alofts in other locations.MoreDate of stay: January 2019
Its in a fairly good location. As in neighborhood location. There are plenty of eaterys around within walking distance. As well as a few bars. The hotel itself is or seems to be older. Like it was built in the 60s and updated. The interior is in the aloft tradition. Hip and modern. Retro and cool. But this aloft is not quite there. Its reaching...but just missed. So close to other alofts Ive stayed in. But close enough. You will just have to stay here to get it. You wont be dissapointed, but it left me feeling...meh. Please dont get me wrong. I love the aloft chain. I will go out of my way to stay at an aloft if one is available where I am traveling. Plus all alofts are pet friendly! And no pet fee! This one did have a pool and spa. It was just not that kind of visit for me. You cant go wrong at an aloft.
Aloft hotel by LAX was clean and updated. The staff were all very friendly. Our room was clean but seemed a bit warm in the room and hotel area. We just cranked the ac down. Love that it is a pet friendly hotel but would be great if there was a small area to walk them to use the bathroom. The area of town was nice and convenient. I would stay at this hotel again.
Aloft is a fairly nice hotel. Its clean and comfortable. However - DO NOT let them give you a room on the 3rd floor (where the lobby happens to be located.) Its crazy loud, you can hear the entertainment from the lobby bar and people dragging their bags through the concrete sound magnifier that is their hallway to the elevators - which everyone has to pass through to get to rooms on other floors. Why that space isnt carpeted or that they havent added some doors to access the rooms and block some of the noise is beyond me.
Fast check-in. Shuttle service to and from LAX every 1 hour. Some rates do not include breakfast, so check with the hotel. If you stay here you will have a 24 hour supermarket and several food shops close to the hotel. Private parking is available at a separate cost.
Terrible management .I booked hotel through expedia ,the hotel .i always travel and have been in so many hotels ,i checked in 8.30 and the room was 150 $ that i used my points and booked it with 101 $ in the hope of being able to sleep before my early morning flight ..they gave me a room that was next to elevator and then i went in tried to sleep then saw a lot of noise from street then i saw it is just next to a very very noisy street and windows arent double or dont function well whole the noise of street was inside my room.,i tried to call the front desk the phone was not working ,the room was so cold i tried to increase temperature there was a note that you cant increase the temperature is pre set and you have to contact maintenance ,but there was no phone .i walked and requested they send someone to fix phone and room temperature but they said engineers dont work at night !!i was not able to sleep at night at all ( i was there just a few hours and and had to go to the airport 4 am ,and i told how bad was my room to front desk who apologized .and i contacted expedia after i returned my home .i had a bad headache whole my long flight from west to east coast .and i even called manager who hanged up on me and told we sold the room to expedia and we are not responsible !!!! expedia should fight for you !!!! and expedia said manager should approve for refund or partial refund . that few hours i was in hotel cost me 150 $.the manager hanged up on me .the room temperature was not adjustable ,the phone was not working service was terrible and room was very very noisy right cross the street .front desk apologized but manager hanged up on me .i have been in so many hotels ,never go there is just waste of moneyaiport ju 4 hours later at 4 am ,and front desk appologized and said will talk to manager
I was excited when I arrived, because it would be my first time staying here. On the surface, the property was beautiful. The vibe in the lobby was bright, fun and lively. Now, looking back, I know I missed a couple of early indications that things weren’t quite right. I reserved my room using the SPG app but the keyless feature never became active, as advertised. I reserved a king size bed, but for some reason, the front desk staff asked if I’d be okay with two beds on a higher floor? Thanks, but no... I’d like the king bed I reserved. She replies, “okay but it will be downstairs on the 1st floor.” I didn’t object, because I had no reason to assume that was a bad thing. However, when I got to the 1st floor, it reminded me of the galley level on a cruise ship - tiny, narrow, and right down the hall from the staff breakrooms and maintainence closets. Not very inviting, but whatever... it was late and I was tired from a long international flight. The room itself was actually very cute, until I needed ice and was informed I’d have to come back upstairs to the lobby to get some. Having an ice machine on each floor would be great. It was unseasonably cold in Los Angeles, with a low temp of 42 degrees that night. The room was chilly and I tried to turn up the thermostat but it wasn’t getting warm fast enough, so I bundled up and went to sleep. When I woke the next morning, the room was freezing. I tried several more times to adjust the heat but it never got warmer. Finally, I called the front desk to let them know the heat was not working in the room, and it was then that I was informed “The entire hotel is operating on a single fan and we aren’t using the heat right now. We have space heaters you can borrow, though.” A single fan for the entire hotel and no heat on a 40 degree night?? Unacceptable. And suddenly, it clicked that this is probably why I was vaguely warned about the pitfalls of the room when the front desk staff told me if I wanted the king bed I reserved, it would be downstairs on the [freezing, galley-adjacent] 1st floor. So all in all, this looks like it *could* be a great property to stay at IF you are assigned a decent room. But in my case, my stay was uncomfortable and a subpar experience that I certainly wouldn’t expect from a Starwood brand. Very disappointed, and probably won’t return.
I LOVE this hotel. I have stayed next door i the Marriott and it doe not even compare. Aloft is clean, funky, hip, pleasing to the eye and colorful. The pool is a little dream bubble of a place - cute chairs with palm tree all around and a mural. Very clean. Every detail is designed and has a Marriot level cleanliness now. We stayed here because I did not want to stay in a sealed hotel, where you cant open the window (covid - open windows are good). Form the outside it looks like a cruise ship. Greta for young kids or teens for a wow factor. Hardly anyone was swimming. I also loved that a tree was right outside my window/door that opened. Things that can be improved: fix the sliding bathroom project door and add a lock to it. Also choose the citrus BLISS lotion and shampoo etc as the current smell is a bit like old lady perfume/chanel yiesh. The soap is divine (love bliss products) bu the other bliss products had a horrible aftershave like smell. I did not like that the parking was $20. I will definitely stay here again however - it is especially good if you want to stay near the airport but have it be a nicer boutique style hotel with pool.
Great vibe, perfectly good accommodation in a great location. Staff really friendly, Shawn especially great to deal with. Wed definitely come back to this cool hotel. Relaxed and chill place, free pool table in the lobby, what more could you want? 😎Highly recommended!
Overall great stay. The quality was worth the money I paid for this hotel. Clean, Comfort, and hospitality was great. The lobby area is a great vibe to kind of hangout if not ready to turn in just yet. I stayed for a couple nights and wont hesitate to stay at Aloft Hotels again.
Ok good stuff first! Staff was super friendly, room was very clean, bed was comfy, and they provide a free shuttle to and from the airport.Bad parts: They nickel and dime you for everything! Things that are typically free at any other hotel are charged here. $18 to park overnight? Purchasing the Breakfast for 2 for $15 just gave us a standard continental breakfast of a piece of fruit, a granola bar, and a pastry. Want standard bacon and eggs? Thatll be another $10.
The bar and patio were hopping for a Thursday night, the staff were unbelievably friendly, the decor delightful, the beds soft and comfy... what more could two weary parents dragging a kid after a few days at Disneyland want? Well, cold water in the bathroom sink. The hotel had hot water in spades. It went from hot to scalding. As we were exhausted we brushed our teeth with the complimentary bottled water and didnt call the front desk. I found it strange that there was only one bedside table (and that was in the middle of the room). The pixelated portraits on the bolsters sent our small person into a fit of giggles. Even though we dont have a dog, the dog biscuits and water bowl at the entrance were a nice touch for the canine guests. We liked being able to open the windows and let in fresh air (most places this is impossible). Our room overlooked the pool and we wished we had swimsuits as it looked like a great place for a dip and to spend a relaxing hour with a book on the deck. Wed definitely stay here again if needing a hotel near the airport.
My travel time usually averages around 15-33 days per trip. This hotel is an overall good hotel. The nightly entertainment is a plus, however weekends should have entertainment as well. The bartenders are great and attentive (remembers your drinks and name). Overall they provide a pretty good nights sleep, decent gym, ok pool, clean rooms, and close to various things to do. The following items require improvements such as acknowledging your SPG members, providing a list of benefits based on level, fixing the elevator that wasn’t working for weeks during my stay, some of the entertainment ended prior to the times posted (at times an hour early), and last managers should be more friendly and engaged with their guest (regular staff were engaged) as every manager night and day never greeted/waived/thanked/acknowled during the many weeks I was there.
We booked a room on our way to Los Angeles. When we arrived there were police everywhere and blocking the entrance. We were unable to enter and when we called the hotel the front desk clerk was extremely rude and not accommodating. My husband and I parked outside of the hotel and walked up. When we arrived the same clerk was super rude and still not accommodating as she claims she could not find our reservation and informed us that they were completely sold out and overbooked. When asked how long have they been overbooked she says “a long time”. So I asked what is a long time? She says “2.5 hours”. However we booked well before then and now we have to call Expedia to determine where to stay. This is completely ridiculous. Aloft will never receive another dime. And that clerk needs to be fired.
My husband and I stayed here as he had a 6am flight out of LAX and they had a shuttle to the airport. I slept in and drove home the next morning. We found the staff to be very personable and accommodating. We had a car so headed down to Manhattan Beach for a nice dinner, but if we didnt have a car there were lots of fast food restaurants within easy walking distance. After dinner we did return to their bar for a drink and sat out on the patio. The only problem I found was that there needed to be more light in the bathroom. Everything else was spot on.
I used the meeting facilities for three days of training for my consulting business. The hotel staff members were very responsive, especially Roger, who went above and beyond expectations to make sure all needs were met. The meeting space was perfect, with a courtyard outside the meeting room, where we enjoyed lunch and breaks. Participants commented on how good the food was.I also stayed in a sleeping room for 4 nights. The room was better than other Aloft hotel rooms, mainly because it was in a more traditional hotel room configuration and had A/C controlled centrally rather than from a radiator; both these conditions meant that the room cooled more evenly and that the bathroom was cooled as well. The shower was great. Bathroom linens were uneven -- some quite plush and others too thin. The lobby is lively. I would suggest that the pop music on the P.A. would be turned quieter in the area of the front desk; I know the music is part of the Aloft vibe but I had trouble hearing every time I needed something at the front desk.
The price/performance of our stay at Aloft was great. Staff, room, hotel amenities, everything was right on without unnecessary and burdensome luxuries, but with everything one needs and which may be hard to find in other hotels. This especially applies to their staff which is stellar. We will stay again, and both my wife and my son have said they are not interested in staying anywhere else.ps. It just happened that I didnt have to travel to LA much this year, but future may bring a lot more trips for me, and I will make sure I stay at Aloft every time - they have earned themselves a steady customer with their smart and honest service.
It is a clean hotel. Deffinatly a hipster feel to it. The front desk is a full walk around counter and the breakfast area was open and well designed. There was a ton of power outlets so all of your devices can be fully charged quick. The bed is super nice and I passed out instantly. They also have a mini pool table which was fun to make a little money
Parking is surface street parking. There are two levels. The higher level is the same level as Supelveda and the lobby. Its the third floor of the hotel. The lower level aligns with the first floor and is street level with Indiana. The hotel itself is lively. There is a definitely metropolitan party vibe with the decor and setup. I found the bar too loud to quietly check in near. The insulation between the rooms and hallway is pretty dismal. Probably a great place to relax if you want a more lively bunch. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing atmosphere your luck may be tried. Overall I like the place. It wont be not preferred Marriott in the area if Im there for business.
I stayed at Aloft for business and I work in the fitness industry. At arrival, I told the front desk that my boss mentioned I had a $15 credit included for breakfast each day, but they said at the desk this was not part of my stay. I called me boss, and he said I was suppose to get the credit and that the person I was talking with was mistaken. Went back to the desk later to talk with someone else, and there was the credit... this person found it and gave myself and co-worker our vouchers. My hotel room and bed was pretty comfy, thankfully. The hot food for breakfast was horrible and the service was inadequate to say the least. The corn beef hash looked like dog food, and tasted like it too. Service for breakfast was pretty speedy at least... but when I sat in the bar after work training all day, I say for 20 minutes without any servers coming up to me to try to serve me a drink. It wasnt even busy either. They just ignored me. Then, after I checked out I called because I left a pair of nice and new (just worned once) Athleta white workout pants hanging on the shower rack asking if they found them and had to leave a message. Didnt hear back... called the next day... left another message. Called a week later, told the front desk, they talked to housekeeping and still they were suppose to talk to me but never ended up answering their phone or calling me back. Finally left a final message 3 weeks after my stay, and no response again. This hotel needs to step up their communication and customer service all around. Still havent heard about my pants, but the overall lack of customer service I experienced during my stay and after is the biggest reason for being so upset.
Pleasantly surprised! On a quick 2 day trip to LA I decided to book next to the airport and not risk missing my flight with the downtown LA traffic and found the Aloft which is literally like 8 mins away and its amazing! Not your typical business hotel. Modern decor and vibe. Great staff and everybody super friendly and helpful! They changed my perception of Airport hotels! Will definitely only be staying with you guys whenever I need quick access to LAX!
The hotel has a mod/retro design which is very nice and unique compared to other hotels Ive stayed in in the past. Check in was easy- took less than 5 minutes. Room was very clean and neat with plenty of outlets for multiple device charging. The only thing that I could say was a problem for me was that I felt like my rooms lighting was a little dim.
I checked in for two consecutive stays. The first stay was for one night. Checkin was a breeze, and the black guy with the halloween wig was super helpful, professional, polite, and upbeat. The next morning, on the heels of such a great first impression, I decided to extend my stay by two more nights. Before heading out for my morning conference, I stopped by the front desk and asked if I could extend my stay. The female who responded first responded in a dry and annoyed tone, and she had the annoyed facial expression to match. My entire interaction with her was unfortunate. She was literally the antithesis of the welcoming and professional guy that checked me in the night before. It bordered closely on rude. Horrible! Inconsistent much? She definitely needs to be retrained or fired, as she’s the impression your guests will walk away with. But for the guy who checked me in on the first night, and the consistency of your housekeeping team, I wouldn’t return. Fix it; this place has so much potential !
This is an airport hotel that doesnt feel like an airport hotel. Great service, trendy rooms and public areas. The breezy rooms are very comfortable. I am usually not a fan of this type of dining experience because I think its too casual, but the offerings are good enough to overlook.
Nycole is the friendliest bar tender at the lobby bar. Nice live music to relax to. Front desk was helpful and very friendly. The room was comfortable and met my expectations. I will definitely stay here again or at another aloft property. For the price you can not beat a cool hotel like this one.
The stay was a very memorable experience! I really appriciated the friendly staff and the voutchers for my birthday. The lobby was fun and the room was very comfortable. I enjoyed the banquet room that I interviewed in as well. I will definetly be referring others to stay at the hotel for the future.
I stayed one night to attend a fundraiser at the hotel. When I arrived and pulled into the hotel parking lot, my first thought was “I hope my car doesn’t get broken into it.” The vibe in the hotel parking lot was not good. I did not have a great first impression of the hotel upon arrival. Next, my room was slightly dirty after check in. There was hair on the sink and on the toilet seat. Also, the HVAC unit in the bathroom is very LOUD. I could not turn it off or down. I could hear it all day and night. This made it hard for me to relax. The bed was comfy but the loud fan noise from the bathroom was frustrating and made it difficult to sleep. One elevator was inoperable. So it was extremely SLOW getting from the 5th floor to the 1st floor all night long. Parking is ridiculously expensive. As far as the appearance of the hotel, it is run down and in need of a update. Not what I was expecting from an SPG property. The hotel appeared to be a renovated motel. The view from my room was of an alley. The planes flying over the hotel to and from LAX were no bother. I enjoyed having food options close by and within walking distance. I did have noisy neighbors during my stay slamming doors - no fault of the hotel. We used the 1st floor banquet room off the pool area to host a fundraiser. The room worked perfect for the party. The ambience was great. The outside area near the pool was dirty and needed attention before the party started. Cleanliness is not a priority. However, the catered food and beverage for the event was delicious and the hotel staff were awesome. Friendly, professional, and helpful. Overall, decent property but I would not stay here again.
Honestly, I cant understand the negative reviews. For the price and location, this cant be beat. Ive stayed in all the SPG LAX hotels and this is my new go-to. Staff has always been helpful, platinum recognition is always there and I really like the help yourself food items. The location is great, the rooms are functional, and the facilities are great (gym, pool, bar, etc). Every time Im there, there are airline employees headed to the airport, which shows me that they are satisfied enough with the property to maintain large corporate bookings. All in all, a great property for the price!
This place used to be The Hacienda where rooms were nothing special but very reasonable. Now at 2-3 times the cost, the rooms are still nothing special. No heat, so dont come in the winter. Ventilation in the bathroom stops in the evening and doesnt resume until after I left at 9 AM. Makes evening or morning showers steam up the room. The latest: after the Marriott takeover of Starwood, they are slowly taking away the nicer pillows and replacing with cheap ones that are in the Fairfield branded places. Im sure the nicer beds will follow. Too bad. I miss the Hacienda, or at least the management Starwood had.
The atmosphere was upbeat and exciting. I recommend this hotel for business or pleasure trips. The rooms are modern. its easy to grab drinks and snacks on your way to the room.Theres a pool table and plenty of different types of seating in the lobby area (and a bar). The pool looked inviting with plenty of outdoor seating. Great music playing in what I call the commons area (versus lobby). NICE CHANGE FROM THE TYPE STUFFY HOTEL LOBBY EXPERIENCE.
Everything from checking in to clean rooms and friendly staff was very nice. The main reason we picked your hotel was that you are pet friendly and you have NO pet fees. That took it over the top. I am from the area but had to vacate my home for a couple of nights due to some repairs. I do have lots of family that visits from out of town and come with their pets and now I know where they can stay.
This is my firs aloft experience so my comparison is based off standard Marriott brand hotels. The design of aloft is certainly hip and young. The lobby is less grand more causal, the hotel attendants behind the check in desk are casual as well.Hotel rooms seems tight to me at least in this one by LAX. But the beds are comfy and the pillows are standard sized, nice and fluffy. The walls however are thin. I can hear my next door neighbor every conversation. And his alarm this morning at 3am surely woke more than just him up.The room seems dusty. The phone looked like it has been there for years, maybe it has but if I can tell it’s been there for year as a result of the dirt on it then it’s time to either clean or replace. The touch pad in the room is little annoying as it lights up at night although I put it on sleep mode. It does disturb my sleep. No restaurant on site which is bit of downside but they do have a nice mini market for snack food and supplies. There are hot breakfast cups with poached egg, which are healthy and tasty. There was live music in the lobby last night so I am assuming it is a regular thing at this place... a nice touch.Overall, comparing to the normal Marriott brand hotels, I see both upsides and down. I would say come and stay and decide for yourself. The bed are comfy, almost like the Marriott; walls are thin so a little noisy. The on-site snack market with hot food and bar are nice touches along with live music.
The property is great - great public areas and the rooms are bigger and better than the standard Aloft rooms. It felt more like a normal hotel than the normal studio feel of an Aloft. The staff is FANTASTIC. Plus, the hotel has a special welcome amenity for elite guest in addition to the normal elite benefits. Plus the property is within a block of a grocery store and several fast/ casual-fast food restaurants and it is not in the busy area immediately outside the airport. If you meet either of the Camerons at the front desk, know you are in great hands.
Disappointed(small and dirty, which is basic of a brand hotel) and may not come back again!Have been with Aloft in Taipei, Stuttgart for some nights, love the stuff and the atmosphere. I would say the staffs here in Aloft El Segundo are as great as others. But the small and dirty room is not what I expect to stay with, especially after an exhausting business meeting before flying back home. I was expecting I may enjoy the night but not as my wish. And I would say, cleanness shall be one of the top index of every brand hotel, and that’s the reason I would pick it without consideration. Unfortunately, not this stay.
I dont understand why all of the negative reviews.I had no problem with anything and this was the second time I have stayed there. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. What more do you need? There is coffee maker in room as well as free coffee in the lobby. Also free bottled water is the room. I loved the Bliss toiletries, again complimentary. There is no ice machine so you need to get one of the staff to get you some ice. There is an In-N-Out across the street as well as loads of other restaurants and shops. Just think of it as it a budget W Hotel.
On the surface, this seemed like a great hotel, but doesnt live up to the advertising. Check in is in the middle of a loud bar. Front desk staff are not friendly and unhelpful in making purchases from the snack shop. They advertise that they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but they only serve breakfast and drinks after 5pm. Room amenities are minimal. Only chairs in the room were one desk chair and a BEANBAG chair. No microwave and no freezer in the fridge. Horrible pillows. You are better off at the Fairfield next door. Not impressed with the Aloft brand at all.
I Liked this place. Its on the upscale Modern n Hip. Its a smoke-free Hotel. However, they have places to smoke. They have a Pool table, some house games to play, Bar, Cafe where they serve breakfast (I got complimentary) with snacks n beverages. Free bagged ice in freezer there ! Pool area nice with big colored lights syncing. They had live music too. The room is nice, it was normal n usual but with extra style. The door windows open for fresh air.
My stay was the best stay, service and accommodations I have ever experienced with a hotel once again. From the assurance and communication for a smooth check in from Asar Fleetwood, free room upgrade and the EXCEPTIONAL front desk service from Guest Service Agent Kyleen, the energetic good vibe Guest Service Agent Emily who assisted me all weekend and the very helpful host at breakfast Carmen. My birthday weekend stay @ Aloft El Segundo with wife will top all of my birthdays in the past. Throughout my three day birthday weekend stay the staff never told me no or I could not, every question or request I made was always YES I CAN! I promise this is Truth be Told. Aloft El Segundo Hotel is a hidden treasure and for sure needs 5 stars because of its staff, location, cleanliness, and modern hotel! If your looking for a Hollywood vibe hotel near LAX stay here!
The hotel is average. Pros: My room was quiet and my bed was comfortable plus there are many close options for dinner/groceries and the hotel is convenient to the airport and interstate. Cons: There were maintenance issues with my room, my room was small and dark, and the breakfast options were slim and expensive. I did not visit the bar, gym or pool. I will likely stay at one of the other Mariott properties right next door on PCH next time I am in town.
I am a flight attendant and Ive never stayed in a hotel like this. It was very trendy and very cool! Everyone was very friendly! The snack bar in the lobby was very nice. The room was very quiet even though its close to LAX. The bed was comfortable. The room had a frig and coffeemaker. The Bliss amentities in the bathroom were very nice.Walking distance to grocery store, Starbucks, restaurants. Beach is close too.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Parking was extra ($10-15 a night), which I wasnt expecting. Had to check out early and they were friendly about it and said they would work with Expedia (who I booked through) to resolve it. I have stayed at another Aloft. Unfortunately, this one wasnt as clean. The shower and bathroom sink clearly were not cleaned, and the floor was obviously not vacuumed. The lobby is really nice, though. I would stay here again if it was a good deal.
Stay was ok. Rooms are not terribly we insulated against noise- loud party outside seemed like in my room at times. Not much the hotel staf could do about that. Good staff and understanding of the issue. Rooms are clean and comfortable, good breakfast choices and the van runs on time to the airport.
I flew into LAX to meet up with family already in the area on vacation. The family includes a Labrador retriever. After reading the pet policies of other hotels it was great to find a place that has no problem and no extra charge for a large dog. Also the parking rates compared to others are very reasonable. All around great value. Very happy with our stay.
Are home away home was once again an excellent stay. It was my wife birthday weekend and we were greeted and treated so well from the beginning to end of our stay. Candace, Emily and Mia at the front desk, Carmen who handles breakfast and Daria the bartender were all full of energy and very much accommodating throughout our stay! You guys rock!!!
Free shuttle on request, close to airport, about 10 mins drive, Great location, sound proof window, had good sleep. Decent size of the room, have coin washing machine and swimming pool at ground floor. Supermarket and few restaurants are just opposite. Great choice to stay there.
The place is pretty chic with a great bar area and an impressive lively atmosphere. Modern, young and fashionable come to mind as I walked it.The check-in took a bit longer than what I would have liked but there were two people ahead of me and they were taking longer than normal with what seemed special requests. To make it worse a flight crew arrived and that got priority from one of the reception staff. When it was finally my turn it went all smooth. As I walked to my room I came about a group of middle age people who had hard more than their share of drinks. They were almost annoying but respectful so no big deal. I went out for dinner and came back to a bar that was happening... too lively like for me to walk by and a bit annoying.Great place but for the price I like something a bit mellow and upper scale. Would repeat because of the location but would not come with my child.
Clean room, updated modern rooms. Nice partial balcony for a nice natural breeze pool is nice and modern has a few cabanas. Check In was easy was greated immediately, Keena checked me in, she’s was so sweet, warm, overall had a pleasant quick check in. Arrived kinda early no problem they had my room ready. I believe the manager was there when I arrived back and he was also great and friendly. So far I’m overall impressed.
This is a hip and easy hotel, and is a good place if youre just looking for a place to stay at for a few nights. This is not a business hotel, so dont expect to have similar amenities to Marriott or Sheraton. I do like that this hotel has laundry room, but the reception keeps running out of quarters haha! The parking may be a problem too especially if theres an event at the lobby bar. Other than that, we had a great stay, and would come back again!
+ Very clean and modern inside. Everything seems new.+ fun hipster vibe+ staff is friendly and courteous- smelled like pot smoke in the hall.- arriving late meant no parking at the hotel. Overflow parking is several blocks away. When walking back from overflow parking, head west to walk back on Sepulveda, which is well lit.
Ive been here twice now, for work functions. The bar keepers are nice, especially AJ from San Pedro. They never have grapefruit juice for greyhounds or ginger beer for mules, which are my 2 regular drinks.I didnt stay in the rooms as I live nearby, some co workers did. Rooms were nice and comfy, but there are always issues checking in.
When you wanna feel comfortable away from your home go to aloft and you will find that you may have your sneakers on all your business shoes on but somehow you feel like you have your house shoes on. Ive been there several times and I find that I have to think before I walk out of my hotel Room to make sure I am not dressed in my underwear going down to grab a bite to eat at the bar because That is how this Establishment makes people feel. You can come as your family you could come as a couple and you can even bring your pets which makes it easier on people who own dogs or even cats. But if you want to enjoy yourself and just go down to the bar for a few drinks and listen to music play a little pool its therefore your pleasure. I have always struck up a conversation with a complete stranger at the bar you dont need to know their names but you do know that with all the texting going on and all the non verbal communication theres always a place where you can talk face-to-face with someone and enjoy the time that you have together as strangers. And what makes it even better is sometimes people like this place so much your run into them again the next time you come. I look forward to meeting my old friends at the front desk and possibly the ones Ive struck up conversation with at the XY Z-bar. Thanks for listening
So we have stayed here several times. This last time I was in a wheel chair due to an accident. So I had a different experience that before. I would not recommend this place for any handicap people. We asked for a ADA Room with a roll in shower. First they gave us a reg room after plainly seeing I was in a wheelchair. Second they gave us a ADA Room with a reg tub with no chair that we had to ask for. The room had a auto door that did not work and could not be fixed. The room is very small for an ADA room and very difficult to maneuver in with a wheelchair. They did however give me free breakfast for their mistakes. Other time we stayed was great. Bar could have more selections and make better drinks. But that depends on who you get. Very party young hip people here with a lot of airline people in and out. Beds are comfy, but rooms are small. Close to airport and food places close too. Fair pricing too.
This hotel met every basic requirement and then went on to exceed my expectations. Modern with a creative twist, I loved the aesthetics of everything down to the pillows on the bed. I had to request that my AC be fixed and it was done before I got back to my room that night. We had our work conference in the meeting room downstairs and they exceeded our every expectation. I will stay there every time Im in town for work!!
Great service at this hip hotel, just a stones throw away feom LAX. Rooms are nicely appointed, albeit slightly on the small side. Very comfortable bed, and work space. Clean and smartly designed restroom and shower. Plus the W XYZ Lounge/Bar area cannot be beat, if you are looking for an fun evening wind down... did I mention the gorgeous pool and outdoor fire pit space? You cant miss those either!
Great shuttle service to/from airport. Shares shuttle with Fairfield Inn that is right next door. Was able to grab a bit to eat nearby at In-n-Out and there is also Ralphs across the street. The beds were comfy but didnt sleep well as i felt as the property had more motel feel rather than a more secure hotel. Also, attracts a younger crowd that probably arent as considerate to others need for peace/quiet.

2022-06-27BEWARE!!! DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL....I never leave reviews for anything, but this hotel pushed me to the absolute limit forcing me to leave one for the very first time. I know you might be tempted to stay in this hotel because of the relatively low price and the pictures online looking somewhat nice and appealing; however, its important to look at the big picture. Where to start.. as soon as we got to our room, the room was messy with used and wet towels everywhere, the sheets were undone, there were tissues on the floor, and the entire room smelled gross. We asked to get moved to another room and while the other room seemed clean, utilities like the lamp and ironing board were broken, not to mention that this hotel has very small, dark rooms and the worst cleaning service from any hotel I have ever stayed at. I asked to get my room cleaned before I left the hotel for several hours, but the lady only put clean towels on the bed and took out the trash. I did not get newly cleaned sheets, bags for the trash cans, she left all the wet towels on the bathroom floor, etc. And just to add to the list, just trying to get out of the parking lot was a complete nightmare. The machine did not work, and I had to call customer support every time for me to exit the parking lot. I saw many other guests experiencing the same issue as I did every single time I exited or entered. Its safe to say that Ill never stay in this hotel again, and I recommend you stay far away from it as well. The low price might be tempting but trust me, its not worth saving a couple of bucks in exchange for such a poor hotel experience.

2022-02-09Stayed just one night because of the proximity of the airport. Great stay! Comfy beds, free pet stay (seriously this is why I chose this hotel as I was moving my cat from the US to Europe and honestly was applied by some hotels charging hefty amount as a pet fee). The hotel is clean and modern looking. They offered a shuttle service to the international departure terminal at LAX which was super convenient. I would most definitely stay here again.

2022-04-25Very cool LAX Hotel that I would definitely stay at again. Not the average LAX Airport Hotel. The decor and ambiance is relaxed with a fun vibe. The hotel bar and restaurant is excellent. There is a pool table in lobby. Rooms are nice and beds comfortable. Marty was great at check-in. He was welcoming and friendly. This hotel has a 24 hour day shuttle.

2022-04-03Absolutely worth it!We stayed here 4 nights, we were there basically only to sleep but let me tell you the hotel was in very calm atmosphere, despite there was a bar at the lobby. Our stayed was very pleasant, definitely recommend, also staff was very welcoming and friendly.Super close to the airport and they offered shuttle service as well. Parking on site is a very decent price.

2022-03-21Positive: Convenient to the airport and equidistant between Disneyland and Universal Studios. Despite being close to the airport, there was not airplane noise that was noticeable. Plenty of USB outlets available in the outlets themselves. Negative: Walls were pretty thin and made it easy to hear neighbors. They only cleaned the room 1x in our 3 night stay, which meant we needed to ask the front desk for more coffee, etc. for our room.

2022-03-30Positive: Beautiful room and setup¿. Feels like your on a train and the doors open to look out. Quick check in. Walking distance to Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Walgreens, Denny¿s and so much more. Negative: Room was very small and cold. They did provide us with a space heater. The cost of parking I just feel you shouldn¿t have to pay everyday you stay. $100 just for parking¿. I felt like just sleeping in the car. Also for the price of the room breakf

2022-01-06Wonderful stay! Comfortable and clean. Nice atmosphere in the entry and a nice heated pool. They were able to give us a nice long extended check-out time for a reasonable price. Lots of food and groceries nearby..

2022-04-25Anthony J at the front desk is the face of the place. Check in was smooth, and he answered all the questions I had. Such a welcoming attitude and his charisma blended with the vibe of the hotel. 10/10 would recommend to a family/friend. Thanks again Anthony J we will definitely be back!

2022-03-22Had to stay at a hotel when my flight got cancelled and this place came to the rescue, was a real comfortable stay close to the airport, they have shuttle buses every 30min to and from the airport, rooms are clean and spacious, prices are affordable, staffed 24/7 and is close to quick bites like In and Out and other small food chains.Best of all, really Friendly staff!Would stay there again.
