The vibe reminded me of Europe. As you can see from the photos I posted, the sausage was exceptionally well prepared and took me back to Germany for a while. The staff was very nice, food a bit on the pricey side, portions just the right size, and overall a good experience. Give it a try...or do what you want, Im not your parent, this is just my take.
Delicious meal and well worth going off the beaten path. We had the escargot, beef bourguignon, and seafood crepes, all amazing! Dessert was amazing. We are farm to table, high quality, simple ingredients, gourmet eaters. Staff was kind and attentive. Most highly recommended!
I hosted two friends for lunch who had not had the chance to enjoy this marvelous French Cafe before. They, each, loved their chosen dishes as much as I did mine One friend is Vegetarian, and found numerous choices; the one she selected, she said was perfect! My other friend also was very happy with the dish she selected. The French desserts, were spectacular; mine chocolate mousse! Oo lala!! Cannot wait to go back, and not wait for a special occasion! 💞🤗
Food was so good! I had the special--halibut with a garlic butter sauce. Fish was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was wonderful. Husband got the pork tenderloin, also very tasty. Service was a bit slow that night, so our server comped our dessert. He also kept the bread coming while we waited. Well definitely come back!
Friendly Staff and great menu! This spot is always one of my favorites. I highly suggest the lunchbox for lunch (or dinner). It comes with your choice of baguette sandwich (veggie, tuna, chicken n Applewood bacon or tri tip n caramelized onions)...YUM , one of 2 salads and dessert tart (key lime or chocolate are my faves) along with an extra miniature cookie and a slice of brie cheese.
My favorite restaurant in El Dorado County!Authentic French cuisine, perfectly crafted, served in a cozy, French-casual atmosphere. Not as many vegetarian options as I would like, but the options they have are to die for, particularly their wild mushroom pasta! Best Ive had anywhere. They continue to have take-out during the pandemic.
Not sure what happened to most the restaurants around Placerville but they have all seemed to go downhill. This place use to be a fav. This time service was super slow, ceasar dressing had so much garlic we couldnt eat it, food came and it was cold. I got the pork dish, it was super tasty but cold and the pork was very dry. Husband got the seafood crepe which was tasty but cold!
Fabulous! My parents are obsessed with this place and I finally got a chance to visit to pick up lunch. We each had a lunchbox which comes with a sandwich, side of green bean potato salad, a slice of Brie, chocolate chip cookie and a tart for dessert. Everything was delicious and lived up to the hype!
Ive eaten at this restaurant in the past and it has beet very good. But...got a take out order on Saturday night an the food was really not good. Ordered crab cakes, spicy shrimp, coq a vin and tri tip. The shrimp were dry, powdery and obviously overcooked. Crab cakes were ok, not great. The coq a vin resembled a soup. Lots of sauce 4 or 5 pearl onion, a couple of mini carrots cut up and maybe six 1 inch cubes of chicken. This dish cost $21. Tri tip was edible. Im so sad because this used to be an excellent restaurant. I do not mind paying for good food but truly resent spending that much on inedible food. I will not be returning.
1st Rule we dont talk about how good it is. Small quiet boutique dining among chef family & freinds. Fine dining sans the posturing. Its catch as catch can getting a table, but eating at the bar is worth getting over it.Then there is the desserts...Our favorite dinner date for years.
Ordered the picatta. It was wonderful. Perfect reduction and juicy chicken. The real gem was when we ordered dessert. I came here from Santa Rosa which is currently (and quite literally) on fire. My wife and I, along with our 6 month old son, evacuated 4 days ago to stay with her father. We ordered 4 dessert items but the son of the owner came out with one of EVERY SINGLE dessert dish and very generously offered them free of charge explaining that they wanted to offer what they could in these trying times. This gesture, along with the wonderful food and wonderful service, deserves 6/5 stars. If I could rate higher I would. Truly a beautiful establishment full of amazing people.Highly recommended.
Stumbled upon this cozy little French cafe in Diamond Springs and decided to stop and check it out. We had already eaten but tried the pasteries. I loved the profiteroles. There isnt very much seating but the decor is kinda cool and I love the smallish bar (seats maybe 6?). There were a lot os small decorative touches that probably took a lot of thought, and I appreciate that. The menu was fab and we are looking forward to returning for dinner.
I highly recommend it! Its a local gem. 💎I collect data about local places worth going off the beaten path, and I am ecstatic when they turn out to be great! Our experience at Allez was great! There isnt very much seating (nook in the wall kind of restaurant), the decor is quite peculiar (no me gusto) but the food is excellent, and the staff was kind and attentive. We had lovely Escargot $13, Boeuf a la Bourguignonne $21, Cassoulet $21, all very tasty and served really hot (which I love)! The desserts looked pretty but tasted only okayish to us - Humbolt Hemp Brown $3, Mini Lemon Curd $2.5, Big Cream Puff $4 - nothing to write home about.Altogether good job, Allez! Thank you for feeding us good food. We are looking forward to returning for another treat.Grand Total:$69.18
Wonderful French food, with a very friendly staff. The menu has a lot of variety and notes dishes which are vegan and gluten free. The pastries are delicious, with a chocolate mousse melts in your mouth and the tarts are made with shortbread instead of regular crust. This restaurant and staff will soon become your favorite place for a relaxed donner.
The food was amazing! The only complaint is with the lack of a hostess and not taking reservations. Getting a table turns into a patron versus patron, winner take all, race to a seat. On the night we were there, resulted in three tables being snatched by the closest person waiting not the ones waiting the longest. The wait staff was apologetic for the bother but it still put a competitive feel to the event that I didnt appreciate. Bottom line is the food is TOTALLY worth whatever obstacles need to be overcome to get there. So go enjoy a wonderful meal at this cozy neighborhood bistro.
My wife and I visited on our way to Lake Tahoe and were very pleased with this popular local restaurant. We arrived a little after 5pm on Friday and got a table right away; however the place filled up quickly! The inside seats about 24 people with 3 tables for 2 outside. They offer to-go food as well, if you like. We ordered Seafood Paella. If you want to share a plate, there is an additional charge of $2. The Paella took about 30 minutes come out, so you may want to order a salad, if you are very hungry. For dessert, we ordered the creme puffs (sooogood!) and French press coffee. In all, we made it out of there for $36 plus tip. Not bad for such a nice dinner for two.
Arguably the best restaurant in theSacramento region. Well done French cuisine, good service, and a sweet location are a few of their positives. It is also striking distance from apple hill and Placerville just in case youre finding yourself in need of something sweet and crafty.
My French students and I had a wonderful time at Allez! The food was great as always. We had the cheese platter and the meat platter, two of their salads, the lentil soup, the shrimp Martiniquais, the Boeuf Bourgignon, and more, as well as a wonderful dessert. There are many dessert choices, such as pot au feu, mousse au chocolat, tarte au citron, etc. This was the highlight of our week! Merci!
Always the very, very BEST food in all of El Dorado County!!! The VERY BEST! We come here as often as we can. The food is freshly made French cuisine from scratch, and I mean ALL of it!! They homemake their sausages... everything. Yummmmm. If you have a large party, you better get there early... at least one person needs to go early to save the big table. All tables are first come, first served. They provide to go containers if you cant eat there. Eat there though! The service is phenomenal and the food is even better!!! We LOVE Allez!!!!!

2022-05-05Late on posting this. We go to Allez regularly. The food is absolutely amazing each and every time. I added photos from the Valentines dinner we had there. Just a wonderfully put together menu. If you have not dined here take the time to try it you won’t be disappointed. The staff is wonderful and very professional. Great selection of wines and classic French/European dishes. The place is small but once you get at a table the food and the service makes it all worth the wait. No reservations so try getting there for a little early dinner (4:30) :-)

2022-01-23Glad to have a pretty good restaurant in town! We only had their soup, “lunch box” on the menu, and the mini saint honoree cake but can’t wait to go back again for the full dinner. It was great to learn something background story of this place. The chef/ owner is originally from France in the 80s. Settled in the el dorado area in 1988 and the rest is history.

2021-10-24Wow, we had to come back a second day in a row, because the food was so incredible! I spent my birthday here and cant recommend Allez enough if youre in the Placerville area. Its unique that it presents as a cafe, but also a smaller restaurant. Kind of feels like youre eating at someones kitchen, the atmosphere is very warm and cozy with a lot of neat places to sit (bar, tables, by the window). The food is traditional French with a full menu to choose from, but Allez also offers a fixed menu that changes as well. I highly recommend the fixed menu for those who are hungry and not sure what to eat!You can also get amazing coffee and pastries here, wine, and the staff is super friendly :) would come back in a heartbeat!

2022-06-05Loved everything about this down home French cafe. We ordered the prix fixe menu and had soup and the pork tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly. Husband ordered the chèvre salad and it was also really good. Their house made pate was delicious. The staff were all very sweet and it has a family-run vibe. We’ll definitely make a point of coming here the next time we’re in town.

2021-07-29I had to explore the food options in the lot where my main office is at; and let’s just say today’s spot didn’t disappoint!I got their lunch box which is honestly a really great deal; any sandwich of your choice, a side (I picked their Mediterranean pasta) and choice of dessert (I picked their lemon 🍋 tart 😋) and it came with a chocolate chip cookie 🍪 = $15A must stop if you’re in the area!

2022-01-19First time dining at this local French spot. Come early or expect a wait. Ambiance was fantastic. Food was good to very good. Service was great. Honestly, if I could give it a 4.7, that would be correct. For the area, its 5.0. Best French cuisine in the area.

2022-03-22Had a wonderful experience at Allez! We arrived at 4:00 as they open and already a line! We felt so fortunate to get a table for four! This place is little but big on flavor and kindness! We started with escargot and roasted garlic wirh tapenade. Both were the best I’ve ever had. Beautiful presentation and the bread is to die for with the tapenade. We then ordered two beouf bourginon and split a seafood paella. The paella wasn’t great as the rice was very Al dente and not a lot of flavor at all. The bourginon is amazing wirh beautiful mashed potatoes! Just exquisite for a cold day.Next: deserts! The Meyer lemon tarts are so goood as was the napoleon with fresh berries and the creme puff with caramel. I will be dreaming of the next time I get to visit Placerville and Diamond Springs! Thanks for he most gracious host, server and Chef!
