Really interesting concept. My first time shopping at an Aldi, and it was sort of like a cross between Trader Joes and a grocery outlet. They did have some name brand items, and a lot of things Id only seen there. Not my favorite place, but worth maybe checking out if youre bored!
Today Aldi shop in CV met me with a lot of GARBAGE outside store! No wet napkins, no Alkohol to clean cart! Inside the floor was totally black with spill in front of vegetable and fruit counters! Disgusting!Products still good, and so are prices thanks god! I hope it was temporary and they might have been short of people!
Aldi usually has fast lines at this location. Store is clean and well organized. Good selection. Today bananas 25 cents a lb..Always has CALIFORNIA CUTIES (MANDARINS). PRODUCE VERY GOOD QUALITY SELECTION HERE. EMPLOYEES POSITIVE IN GENERAL, COURTEOUS, AND HELPFUL FOR QUESTIONS. GOOD BREAD SECTION. EGGS GOOD PRICES USUALLY. OK MEAT DEPARTMENT NOTHING FANCY.
This isnt the one stop market for all your needs. Having said that, Aldi has some tremendous buys for the pantry and fridge. Some highlights are the nice selector cheese. The small packaged vegetables are fresh and inexpensive.Quick in and out is typical here, as the lines move quickly. Definitely a nice addition to my grocery gathering tool belt!
I was there yesterday. I bought 5 full bags of groceries including pasta, pizza, beans, veggies, milk, candy, water and many more items. I ended up paying only $100. Very affordable. But thats not the only good thing about this place; they have tons of new and premium quality items. So many interesting sweets and candies. Ill always do bulk of my shopping here from now on.
Cheap prices. Meat is usually a decent good. Vegetables are hit or miss in quality but thats common with smaller stores due to limited shelf space.Mostly store brand but still good quality.Need a quarter to borrow a cart, you get it back when you return the cart. They also expect you to bag your groceries yourself. There is table space behind check out to do so.Staff is always helpful.
Rolling different items every week. Super cheap prices on pantry foods. Love their premium selections. Last time picked up some organic ginger paste and Sun dried tomato pesto sauce. They do not bag items. Instead throws in cart and then you pull over to bag on your own. Carts on a honor system. You need a quarter to unlock cart. If you want to save and not big on common brand names you can find some good buys. Not for everyone, but cant knock it either.
Love this place! Its sort of a Trader Joes and Fresh and easy style place. They have lots of cool items from Europe, many of their own items too. Kinda like Traders Joes. They have a lot of Gluten Free products and Organic fruit and veg every day! They even have GREAT Prices on lactose free milk.
Aldi is one of my favorite family stores 🙂. It might not have 109 different kinds of coffee, or the latest brand of laundry soap.. However, not only it carries pretty much all the items needed for everyday at a reasonable price and with good quality, many organic products (btw...they support local businesses 😀🤜🤛), exclusive weekly items, but if you are a fanatic of chocolate and desserts..they have some of the most tasteful German kind ones 😋. Most of its personnel is kind and attentive.. hopefully, itll continue with this policy🙄.. its always nice to know you will be welcomed and valued🤗. If you are looking for a friendly, good store and theres an Aldi near by, I recommend to visit it...you wont be disappointed 😉.
This was my go-to Aldi for the longest time, but since theyve opened others around SD I go there a lot less. Every time Ive visited since the pandemic started it seems to get a little worse, mostly due to the fact that its always so busy and no one can seem to follow the directional arrows which makes for a very chaotic visit. Add to that they moved everything around since my last visit and the staff was not overly engaging and I think I probably wont be going back again any time soon.
We love to shop here. The food may be off brand but it is top quality. Also, there are some fun and delicious European brands that you cannot find any where else. Their orchids are amazing! I bought 1 for my work office that bloomed for 6 months, then lost its blooms, then bloomed again a month later and is still going strong! A very rare but very welcomed flower experience (I posted a picture of the orchid). The staff is friendly and the store is clean. Most of all, the prices a really reasonable!
Literally my favorite grocery store. The prices beat every other place I’ve gone, including the commissary on base! Everyone remembers me and my kids and are very friendly. A lot of bilingual employees which is very helpful. The bathrooms are spacious and always clean. Especially when we check out, the employees always talk to us, engage my daughter, and are very pleasant and happy. I wouldn’t change “my” grocery store stop for anything!
Food and prices were great. The reason I came to write this review was my experience with our cashier. We had two small children loaded and buckles, and we had cooler bags ready in ours for the groceries, but the cashier loaded all of our groceries loosely into a different cart because it was more convenient for her. I understood the system but it was NOT convenient for me to rush out of her way while moving both kids, paying, and then pushed aside while having to put all our loose groceries into our cooler bags. The cashier also said multiple times she needed our cart (reminding us to take our kids out of it...). Honestly I get that you never know what someone is going through and I tried to remain polite. All I can say is be prepared at checkout!
Very clean store grocery store. Prices are unbeatable. There are some brand named foods, but mostly comparable store brand. Their store brand spaghetti sauce is better than Prego. They have a small selection of organic veggies, a variety of humus flavors...try the olive garlic flavor! Yum!
Nice selection of produce and meats with very reasonable prices. I like the meat selection, they offer smaller weights for only two people so I dont have leftovers forever. Its a smaller store, but found they have the basics that you need to create a great dinner. You need a quarter to get a cart to hold your groceries but you get it back when you return the cart. The cashier put my groceries back in the cart after scanning them. There is a nice long shelf for bagging your own groceries after purchasing them.
Im an Instacart shopper for people. Never been a shopper here until I started Instacart. I could honestly say they have the best prices in produce & throughout the store. Produce is good quality. They also have organic which is a big plus! I, myself am going to start shopping here because of the quality of their produce and outstanding prices!
This place is great! I have shopped them before in other areas of the US and was so happy to find one here in So.Cal. and I hear they are expanding-bonus!!!! I will always choose Aldi as my main grocer. the prices are great, service is outstanding, always clean, and never any issues. All the staple items are here and having a family of 4 - there is nothing better than the value and experience for groceries.
This store was very clean and well organized. Staff must be invisible because it all seemed under control and I only saw two employees. The selection was reasonable and many of the prices (per ounce) are better than what Im used to spending at Costco! I will definitely return with a plan to load up. Its worth noting that Aldi has been around for decades. Theyre new in California, but I grew up with them in Missouri. Back then, it was a very generic, dirty, trashy and extremely cheap place to go. Now, the professional nature of the store puts them on par with other well known chains. Give them a visit!
I would like to say I was in your store today and the happy environment of your employees complimenting each other for their will work done and expectations met everybody was very happy and joyful and that made me want to come back to your store and hear that positivity and good environment in very hard and difficult times its very much appreciated so Kudos and congratulations to all of your employees for keeping up the good spirits during these hard times thank you
Great prices, like really great prices in everything! Fresh fruits and vegetables, avocados only 49 cents each! Most products are NOT name brand but their own brand, but really great stuff! Bring bags because you have to bag your own! 25 cents to use a shopping cart but you get the 25 cents back when you return the cart. They also have seasonal items like holiday cookies, chocolates, toys and books but limited selection on those items, so if you see something you like grab it, dont wait because itll be gone! I love Aldi and shop there regularly.
Very clean, the associates are almost always willing to stop and help you with anything. My family comes here once a week and the associates will greet my kids and point out the freshest produce for us! Remember to bring a quarter for the shopping cart and your reusable bags.
The produce is reasonably priced for their good quality. $2.89 for a 4-ct bag of organic avocado is super - but the avocados were disappointingly small. Wasnt blown away by the meat prices, but overall everything looked fresh. Clean, uncluttered store is a plus. Can walk out with all your basics to cook a good dinner without spending all of your money.
Very unique place, as compared to other grocery chains. A lot smaller which has its benefits and downsides. Produce pricing is not the cheapest youll find but some of better quality out there, price I would say is midrange. Parking is super convenient. They never have any shortage of shopping carts (due to a very smart strategy). Theyre neatly organized, the labels with pricing are eye catching. Service is good, although they seem to experience issues with their EBT system at times, supposedly.
True prices are great and the place is clean but most of the employees I’ve encountered are unfriendly and some have even been quite rude. I understand the managers want their employees to move quickly but all friendliness and politeness have been thrown out the window at this store unfortunately.I’ve also noticed most of the bread products have been frozen and are still partly frozen when put on display.
This concept makes perfect sense to me. Strip out the little extras that drive up our grocery bills and deliver quality, affordable groceries. When the checker totalled my order, I thought it was a mistake. The order he just tallied would have cost me close to double at my traditional grocery store. Sure, the store really IS no frills, aisles on pallets, Costco-style. Yes, one should be prepared to venture away from your typical brands for some products, but the alternative selections are very nice (sometimes better). So far, I have been very pleased with the things weve tried. My daughter and I shared a take & bake pizza that better than any Ive had recently and she still had lots left for lunch today. I will definitely be using Aldi for the bulk of my weekly shopping going forward!
Great prices, not a lot of variety. Plenty of free parking but I dont get it how every time I go to those one or the new one that opened on main place in CV they have stockers stocking merchandise with big pallets and shoppers trying to walk around them. Also at both stores they never bag or allow you to bag your stuff, they just throw it in your basket (sometimes rudely) even if they see you trying to place it nearly in your bag.
I love Aldi! This one is way bigger than the one I used to go to... lots of space, friendly staff. They have a lot of options including a great organic brand that is also cost effective! Also, if you like to cook, buy your spices here!!! The regular spices are only $1/bottle for the bigger bottles and $1.99 for the special brand in glass jars. They also have sea salt and pepper grinders.
I love this new to san diego market. I find all kinds of great deals here. I buy things here like uncured bacon, cheeses, pork rinds, heavy whipping cream, nuts, organic eggs, they gave me great coupons when they first opened, i shopped here during the holidays and it helped me save. Its clean, the staff have all been great!! I dont work here, I just really love this market!!
So this place can take some getting used to if youre used to the supermarket experience. Its a small place in the European efficiency style, meaning they dont always have everything you want. But if you go there for what they have, you will be satisfied. Most of their merchandise is their store brand, so if youre married to a brand name you will probably be disappointed. Like I said, go there for what they have, and run across the parking lot to Smart and Final for the rest.
We had a little accident, we dropped a glass bottle and it exploded in the check out lane, they were there in a heartbeat to help us and clean up the mess. Great customer service and theyvdidnt even charge us for the broken bottle! Will definitely be back and I definitely recommend this place to anyone.
ALDI is new to me this year, Ive never lived near one before. This location is a bit of a hike (about 25-30 min away) but I love it so I make the trip every few weeks. If I lived closer, Id be there every week! The ONLY think I dont love about ALDI is the rotating stock. So far for most of the things Ive fallen in love with, they regularly carry so thats perfect! The staff is always helpful and friendly - I love this place!*TIP* Take your own bags and take a quarter to release your shopping cart!*TIP* Dont go when youre hungry! Ha!
Just like an Aldi in Germany, but cleaner and with friendlier workers. One nice difference is that here the cashier puts your items in your cart/bag for you whereas in Germany they scan everything as fast as they can and you have to bag as fast as you can and get out your money before they give you a death stare. Costs are super cheap in certain categories, mainly the bakery section. Go here to see what you like and you can save a whole lot of money.
Aldi does sell a variety of low cost, low quality foods. However, you are sadly mistaken if you think they only sell junk. Aldi always has a variety of reasonably priced, high quality foods. If you havent shopped at Aldi before, do yourself a favor and give it a try, before you go spend a ton of money at Vons or Ralphs.
Love Aldi, affordable everything. If you need the basics this is the place to go. Quarter needed for a shopping cart is standard for Aldi. Produce is always fresh and appropriately priced. Specialty items will likely not be here but they have seasonal deals (turkey for Thanksgiving, ham for Christmas, etc..). Highly recommend going here to get everything you can then stopping at another place for any special items.
My friends all love going to Aldis, I dont as much. Its supposed to be more natural buy I accidentally bought yogurt with artificial sweetener in it which was really dissapointing 😢. Also they dont have a huge selection of food and the prices didnt seem that great compared to other stores. I dont know, maybe I wasnt paying good enough attention to prices. Its better prices than, say, a health food store but not much better price or quality than Wal-Mart. In my opinion.
This is my go to shopping place. Not only is everything reasonably priced, but I do find things that I havent tried before. The staff is friendly even while they are running around trying to get things done. I believe that is the only setback. I see the employees constantly stocking and running around and they always need help to cover the register. Other than that a great place to shop!
Absolutely a great store.. Its a German company and they offer deep discounts on many items that are organic and gourmet.. But please remember to bring a quarter with you.. They keep these deals by not having allot of staff and you need a quarter to use a shopping cart and the quarter is returned once the return the cart!
Aldi Market - My new grocery store. The store is spotless well stocked and the management and employees are very helpful. The new labels are not only organic but the food is delicious. Just remember to grab your bags before you go shopping, trust me you will need more than a few. Totally more bang for your buck. I love that the isles are wide enough and the entire store is just what your looking for not too many overwhelming choices like other stores. I also have fun shopping the home goods and very inexpensive toys. Oh the alcohol is prob. our Fav. : ) Aldi you bought us.M&M
Aldis is always a good visit but not this time ... They have almost everything I want almost a little of this a little of that ... BUT I did notice on my latest visit they didnt have as many vegan options as they havehad in the past... that was a little disappointing & I also noticed they have one electric mobility scooter for people who need it having alot of people coming in at the time I went in ... I think they should at least have 2 more if not 1 more there has to be more than one person who needs a mobility scooter at a time .... this Aldis I go to in North Chula Vista across the street from Eucalyptus Park is ok... maybe more cashiers open later on in the afternoon hours & if they would bring back huge variety of vegan options they had that would be 👌I hope this review help out... Have a nice day who ever reads this
It was interesting. Imagine if Dollar Tree and Fresh&Easy had a baby; it would be Aldi. Maybe its a Midwest/East Coast thing, but it felt a little weird. They didnt have larger quantity packages of some things. It was hard to find some other things too, because some things were on sale and not with other things of that kind. I ended up having to go to another store anyway.
I saved money on everything. The store was clean, and orderly. The enployees were mostly friendly and eager to please . the store brands were as good as the national brands.Aldi beats even grocery outlet, and 99cents only stores on Price .price, quality selection, aldi beats the competition hands down.discounts up 50% off you cannot go wrong.Im happy
The verdict is out on them could possibly be the best super market here in San Diego, this wait until if they continue if they continue to turn out the better stuff I would say walmart is having a contender and for the prices there just hands down the best and prices.
I absolutely Love Aldi.My sister introduced the store to me when I visited New JerseyI found out about our new Aldis from the news one morning .The store is in Chula VistaIt is about one year old with wide isles wonderful foods and GREAT prices .Lots of germanTreats ,Swiss chocolates ,Fresh vegetables, meats ,and dairy department .Did I mention GREAT PRICES .
Aldi’s is a very efficiently run store, primarily food—some fresh, some frozen and canned, nonperishables—but also other misc. household items, all at cut rate prices and interesting and useful. Staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful and quick. Check this place out!
Back in NYC (just moved here 2 months ago) there was an Aldis nearby my apartment. I was so excited to hear about the grand opening of this location less than a mile from my new home! As always, Aldis never disappoints (especially with the price of their produce; just got celery on sale for 39 cents!) Aldis will always be my first choice for my grocery needs, hands down.

2022-05-21Nice clean store. Bright & light. Some good bargains & fresh produce. Like most of the less expensive outlet type of stores, they dont have everything in stock & they carry off brands too. Ill probably be back!

2022-06-27The prices here are very low. Aldi has better quality items than the 99¢ store for just a little more.I think beef is overpriced here.Theres a great selection of cheeses, a variety of beer, and cheap produce. There can be a wait when checking out and you need to box or bag your own groceries. You need a quarter to use the shopping carts.Aldi offers superlative value compared to any other grocery store in the San Diego South Bay.

2022-07-03Great selection of produce, general household items, protein powder, chips and buns for any 4th of July. Events, and everything else your typical grocery store has. This place also has the best prices around by far compared to any other grocery store. I had a friend who worked at Aldi and he said theyre able to achieve this by only having two to three people in the store at any given time as well as sourcing most of their products locally.

2022-07-01Some decent finds here. Never very packed. Helpful staff. Bring a quarter before the shopping cart. And be prepared to bag your own groceries.

2022-01-26I went on 01/25/21 at 8pm when I finished my shopping, I went to the restroom when I was out a women was screaming that I should not go to the restroom cause it was closed… I answered it has not signal there, so she said that the cart in the middle and hit the cart abruptly. I asked for her name and she refused to claiming she wasn’t screaming. Also if the store closes at 9pm why is “closed” the restroom one hour before?

2022-03-17Dont know what the big deal is here. Seems pretty empty and no rhyme or reason as to the way food is laid out. Only went to get grandkids soup that thet like. Probably will only go for that in the future.
