First time ever at an Aldi store-Alhambra location. I will never go back. Cashier Joey was uncooperative, unfriendly and rude. What is the bag policy here? I will never know because cashier Joey wouldn’t tell me. I wanted to buy bags but he ignored me and kept throwing the groceries in the basket. I figured out that I had to bag my own groceries….no problem….. but cashier Joey made it a problem. I had to beg for a bag then rudely asked how many I need. I have never been here so I didn’t know the size of their bags. He can basically see how many I needed. He was just focused on throwing my stuff in the basket like a robot. It was very awkward and weird. Does he hate people that don’t bring their own bags? Is he unhappy at his job? When I was walking away i turned to look at him and he was laughing. I’ve never left a store feeling angry. Too bad because their prices are really good.
Ok. This is basically my wifes review. We were in the neighborhood and have been wanting to try Aldi. Did our shopping, filled the whole shopping cart. Got to the counter and thats when everything went bad. Joey , our cashier was basically about as unhelpful and rude as possible. We had to keep asking for bags and every time he would only give one bag , this while knowing that we needed at least five. He was tossing all the stuff into the cart while seeing that were trying to bag everything. My wife got mad because he was giggling while he was doing this. She complained to the manager after and didnt get a whole lot of help from him either. So....my wife said well never go there again. Dont know what Joeys problem was , but it was a bad enough experience to just stay away, which is too bad because they do have really good prices. Ive never given a bad review before. I hope this is the last😕
I was pleasantly surprised by this place(Alhambra location).I didn’t know what to expect after receiving several circulars- supermarket or something like Target? The ads focus primarily on food, but they also have amazing deals on things like space heaters, slow cookers, nice candles, desk sets, etc.. Every week they have something new. I went in around 2 p.m. to buy a heater, but an employee told me they had sold out by 11:00 that first day, so if you want something that a lot of people would want at a great price, get there when they open. Basically it is a grocery store with a center aisle for the special deals. Some reviews mention that they don’t bag your groceries, which is basically true. Right now, however, I am waiting to have back surgery and am handicapped- I can’t stand without holding on to something. I’m still a bit shy about this , but it is pretty apparent to the employees, so they have always helped me, and even offered to help me out to the car. I also think that the employees are very nice and helpful in every way. The first time I was there, I mentioned this to an employee on the floor, and she explained how things work there and explained the layout of the store. The produce is fresh and inexpensive, and I love that they carry a lot of food from Europe, especially Germany. I have been coming in every week now, because they have not only the non-food specials(many of which are great gifts), but there seems to be a theme on the food specials every week, like one week they had all different kinds of veggie burgers and sausages, all containing different ingredients-some soy, others grain mixtures, vegetables, etc. The prices on those items were much lower than anywhere else. Also, the kitty litter is (not the very best, but it’s not bad) an excellent price.I have and will continue to recommend ALDI to my friends and acquaintances.
I asked a worker about the quarter key chain that were released 2 days ago. He was aware of what i was talking about, but would go check.I checked on the seasonal promo row n could not find it. I eventually found them at an open register. Well the worker never found me n i found him at a register.I even went through his line to see if he remembered me, would apologize for not finding me or even comment that i found the sale item. What kind of people do they hire today.Lack of commitmentLack of sense of responsibilityLack of attention to detailsNo wonder we r spending more money buying online.
There customer service is great and they always have what I need, which is why I gave 4 stars. However, Aldi corporate is no longer taking measures that other grocers are doing to ensure public safety. They dont control crowds, wipe down carts or inform customers to maintain social distancing as they once did in June and July. If their customer service wasnt so good Id rate them a 2.
Great prices on fresh produce. I just got a bunch of mangoes for .39 each!Staff is not very friendly or welcoming, and you don’t feel great shopping in the store but if you’re there to get a few things, it’s okay. You get more variety and friendliness at Trader Joe’s.
On my last visit the outside and inside looked unkept. Trash on the floor everywhere. The produce guy tossing bags of apples will probably cause bruising on the apples. Usually the cahiers are friendly. Last visit was okay. Asked about pricing but she half explained and had to ask again later. Discount was taken but it shows up all the way at the bottom of the receipt. Ive only been there like 5 times since it opened.
They have great prices! The quality of the fruits and veggies is great for the price! Also if you are gluten free they have a small section live G free line, GREAT! My son has food allergies and the live G free line is allergy friendly! No dairy no soy no wheat no nuts no gluten! Just Awesome! They have gluten free bread which is the absolute best I have ever had! Soft just like regular bread! Great place to shop great quality meat too! Just bring your quarter for the shopping cart.
Ive been going here for a few months now and its definitely one of my favorite groceries stores now. The prices really cant be best here. Staples like a dozen eggs 99¢ everyday, along with others like bacon around $3.50. You probably wont find really specific specialty stuff here, but worth it for all of your regular items. Plus they got nifty deal specials on misc things like outdoor furniture
Love this place. Great selection with incredible prices. The biggest downside, and Ive mentioned it to the staff before, is that this store does not provide hand held baskets for shopping! Their carts require a quarter (25cents) deposit, and there are times that Ive gone to the store without no quarters and no cash. This leaves me with no other option, because they dont have hand held baskets, i have had to carry every item by hand throughout the store, and is too much of a hassle.
We go there every week and sometimes we find some good deals on produce, but in their effort to keep costs low at times I feel that they do not have enough staff. Items on sale are running out and I take the boxes left and throw them on the floor. And mysteriously their pricing doesnt get changed on the shelf - whole milk at 1.79 on the shelf and the billed price was 1.69? And some products disappearing - no frozen peas for at least 2 months. But the biggest problems is either not enough staff or they are not trained properly. I fail to see how they get such high scores nationally.
Pretty good deals!👍 Got some free range eggs for $2.99!! They have a small organic section which is always a plus👌 and some home decor and outdoor items that are a steal. I also bought my friend a $7 soy wax candle that usually retails for around $20ish. Overall Ill definitely be back.😊
Far and way the best store in the area. Rekts other super markets with its deals and destroys with the cuties at the register. I usually get That 8 lbs of chicken for 14 dollars. Not a bad steal. I seriously do recommend coming here. Smaller selection but way better deals.
Aldi is a grocery store worth shopping at. The have a great selection of food (got to love their oven ready pizzas, prepared snacks, and constantly rotating selection of amazing desserts) and their weekly special items are often great finds at really great prices. Dont forget to bring a quarter for the shopping cart and be prepared to bag your own groceries at this spot.
Great place to shop for food. This store has really helped rationing my portions in an effort to loose weight. In addition I had a previous sugary soda addiction but since using a method of buying non soda sweetened drinks ALDI I have lost significant weight and I am beginning to feel a new healthy me shine through.
Everything you need at low prices and a bunch of other random stuff thats really cheap too. Also, the cashiers are insanely fast since theyre able to sit down. Useful tips. Bring a quarter if you plan to use a cart. When youre in line, have everything out and ready to pay. Also, after you pay, grab your stuff and move to the wall to bag your things. Thats how they keep costs low and check out so fast. Seriously, this place has spoiled me for other supermarket lines.
Ive shopped at Aldi for years and I love it. Great prices, not too big that it becomes overwhelming, but has all your basics. Bring a quarter to get a cart and youll get it back when you return the cart (one of the ways they save money, since they dont need to hire someone to collect carts). And bring your own bags or theyre available for purchase for 10-15 cents each. Also, always super fast checkout!
Great for shopping on a budget. Lots of budget friendly options, including organic and gourmet type foods. They dont always have everything youre looking for though.Today I found a 24 pack of water for $1.99, figs for $1.29, less than $2 for organic tortilla chips, $7.29 for a frozen pack of all beef 75/25 hamburger patties (I think 12-ish patties). I come here for the staples and get anything else I cant find at Ralphs. The 99 cents store down the street has great produce and packaged goods options too.
I had really high expectations - not sure why - but it was unimpressive. The produce was picked through, old, and expensive. Meat section was okay and so was the frozen food section. I personally wont be back but it was just alright. Id suggest Trader Joes or Ralphs if you want quality food.
When they first opened, we didnt think that much of this chain but over time, we come to realize that we can save a $5 to $10 a trip versus shopping at Vons. $1.99 for a carton of Almond milk, $2.69 for a carton of whole milk Greek yogurt, $2.69 for a bottle of acetaminophen 100 count, and organic granola for $2.69. Other good choices for organic items. The only thing I dont like is they rush you to bag your own groceries.. but that is minor issue compared overall.
Beautiful store with an excellent staff. This is by far the cleanest Aldi branch Ive been to. Fresh produce, short check-out lines, and there was even an attendant who helped me checkout a cart! They went above and beyond their call of duty. I love this place! I definitely recommend going to shop here if you havent been already. You will be pleasantly surprised!
Its pretty organized and they tend to have some really good deals (some of their deals are not so great though). Its a pretty healthy store no candy to be found lots of nuts, seeds, and granola. They sell pancetta and a lot of different cheeses. Produce section is not as big as other super markets but they have good variety and I bought a really delicious pineapple recently for only $0.99 (one of their great deals). Downside for those of you that dont carry change they do ask for a quarter to use their carts and theyll give it back if you take it back to its place which I appreciate as someone who has to go out and bring that carts back at my job but I dont appreciate as someone who never carries change.
Always long lines, no self checkout, and very little staff/ cashiers. Most of the time I just need to get one or two things here and I have to wait like 15 minutes. Lastly these cashiers dont even bag your groceries and just put them into a shopping cart you cant take. You have to reach in and grab your stuff back out and basically bag them yourself and then they start doing the same thing for the next person sometimes mixing up your stuff with theirs. Please install self checkout if I have to bag my own groceries!!!
Remember your quarter and reusable bags. I would give this store 5 stars but they dont carry all the new vegan items, yet. Their still a new location and are working on getting items in the store. So, be patient or try a different store for now. I shop at different stores (Whole whole paycheck Foods, Trader Joes, 99 Ranch, Target, 99cent) and I find the prices and quality are great for what you get. Plus, expiration dates are much better on their bakery goods than Traders. Sorry, Joes I know your freshly baked but you only have 4 day shelve life for the price I paid...give me at least a week. Dont get me wrong, I love a good deal but I also love good food and new choices. So Im shopping at Joes & Aldi now.
Very good variety similar in vein of Trader Joes... great place to shop if you are shopping for yourself (single) or home of up to four as the portion sizes are on the smaller side.... great prices on everything.Important to note that if you want to use a cart here you will need a to bring with you a deposit of 25 cents to unlock the cartAlso once you check out you will switch cart with the cashier theyll keep the one you were using and get a cart from them. After that you can bag your own groceries on a shelf along the wall behind the registers.
Great options for groceries and good prices knocked off one star because the fresh produce is hit or miss here sometimes its fresh and sometimes the tomatoes are collapsing in on themselves. Also they dont really sell produce by the single the onions potatos tomatoes etc are in 5 packs or more sometimes I wanna just grab a tomato and onion but thats not possible here. Love the store tho
Store is new and clean. The aisles are wide and the shelves well stocked. You need to remember to bring a quarter so you can free your cart from its prison. You get the quarter back when you return the cart, but its a bit of a pain to remember to bring change. Reminiscent of Costco 20 years ago. The variety of foods is limited, but the prices are fairly good.
This has really saved on our grocery bills great place. Service thru the lines goes super fast, i can go in and be out within a few minutes and also save lots of cash. Only reason i gave 4 instead of 5 stars is sometimes certain items are lacking and i hace to go other stores to get.. But overall great savings and quick...
Went to Aldi for the first time. Items were generic brand but taste just like name brand and the price on many items was great to see. This location is a small location so it dont have everything you would need, however I do recommend this location and its my hope they get enough business to stay open.
Aldis is always ... interesting. Fun to see all the odds and ends collected along several isles. Went for fruit but no ripe plums, peaches or apricots but not many markets have just ripe fruit anyway. Veggies are usually good. Otherwise got what I needed. I am not a frequent Aldi shopper but usually go once a month or so
I like Aldi but prefer other locations. The prices at this one are expensive compared to other locations Ive visited for comparable items. Also, the checkout person swore up and down the price was right on one item when it clearly was marked lower. She said she was too busy to check. I got a photo and proved her wrong, then she tried to throw a guilt trip on me that mistakes happen. I know mistakes happen, but if you had only checked the item instead of insisting the customer is wrong and then try to make the customer feel guilty when they go out line and wait in line a second time after gathering the evidence that you should have done in the first place and prove to you the facts, then dont have a fit about it. Not every associate is like this, just unfortunate I got the grumpy one.
This place is heaven on earth for me. Good groceries that do not ding my wallet. The fruits & vegetables don’t rot 2 days after you get home & the choice in meats is really decent. If you’re on a diet, they got what you need.If you need organic, they got it.If you are a vegetarian, they got a delicious variety. And if you’re Paleo like me - you’ll be in heaven too.Tired of paying over the top for your food...give Aldi a try. Remember to bring your own bags (you can still buy bags if you need to) & don’t forget to bring a quarter for the shopping cart. Yes, you will need a quarter to unlock a shopping cart....when you get inside you’ll be glad you remembered the quarter.Look at the lovely food I’ve prepared for my family & still had money to pay for other things too (like gas & electricity). LOL
I enjoy shopping at Aldis! My first experience shopping at their store was when I lived in South Carolina and I was happy to find out they moved here locally. They have great deals and its not overwhelming like big box stores. I only wish they had small hand-held baskets to do light shopping. As a person in a wheelchair I am unable to push a shopping cart and the lack of a handheld shopping basket makes it very difficult to shop by myself. Hope youre listening Aldi!
My first time. Its OK, this market doesnt have many familiar items. Similar to Trader Joes but a few steps down. You have to give up .25 for a shopping cart. Which could be useful for the place. You get it back when you return it to the front of the market. Oh, and you bag your own groceries.
Ive been to a few Aldi locations and usually I wouldnt write a review regarding a grocery store. However, Ive had a few bad customer service experiences at this location. Long story short, two male cashiers are particularly rude, and while putting items in the cart upon checkout, they wont let you take the cart to bad your items, they will continue to put the items of the next customer in the same cart rather then grab another cart for the next customer. I found this odd, considering no other Aldi location does this. The cashier stated its there policy and become very irritated when I asked to use the cart to bad my items and take my groceries out to my car, I even grabbed an empty cart for him and he became angry and said no. So I proceeded to grab my groceries put then into another empty cart adjacent to me and he followed be telling me not to do that again. I called the corporate office who confirmed this cashier was wrong and they apologized for his rude behavior. I hope the cashiers at Aldi in Alhambra read this and understand they should learn to treat customers with more respect and provide much better service.
I like going to this ALDI simply because I pass it on my way back home from work and usually has everything I need. The only annoying thing is its cashiers. They over react about there shopping cart. Today I only bought 3 things and she pulled up a cart. I simply touched it and she quickly started telling me I cant move the cart it stays in side the store. Like if I was trying to leave with the cart. Also they are always in such a rush even when its slow, cant even say hi.
I shot the store quite frequently for shopping apps like instacart and I can say that the staff is top-notch theyre pretty friendly inviting and they help you if you need it but they dont persist to make you feel uncomfortable so with that being said the store is always clean and I really like shopping here prices are pretty damn good and as Im shopping here for other customers I always leave with something for myself I love it best price on pumpkins to this holiday $1.99
Many reasons why this German based company is draining biz from Ralphs, Walmart Target even (exclusive sourcing specialists) Costco (formerly Price Club, remember?). Some regular priced items even beat 99 cents only & dollar tree (breakfast sausages)... Sales on avacados, 99cent dozen large eggs (sometimes several weeks within a month!) and half gallon milks (almost every week-if not 2% or 1%, once Whole milk, then skim...) are great!
This place is great for German and other European imports at great prices - chocolate, rye bread, sauercrout, spaetzel noodles, specialty cookies, sardines etc. Everything else you can find in any bad supermarket for pretty much the same prices. GMO and chemical filled junk snacks, dairy and meat. Their organic items are extremely limited. No organic pastured milk or butter, no organic meat, no organic dried/canned goods, no organic basics like celery, beets, russet potatoes, bell peppers, carrots (normal carrots for cooking, not baby carrots), broccoli, chard, parsley, apples, etc., no gourmet coffee. Just your basic food 4 less but much smaller, cleaner and with some rare German imports thrown in. If they improve their inventory and add more healthy organic foods to their shelves, Ill consider going there every week. Until then its Trader Joes, Sprouts and Whole Foods for this girl. I want to live a long and healthy life, not stuff my body with affordable junk. Cmon Aldi, I challenge you to be a better store. Otherwise youll end up like Fresh and Easy - closed.
Im in big disappointment. always bought products only in your store. noticed that it was in this store that Aldi began to sell a fake. Sauce with meat, became without meat. peas, corn does not correspond to past taste. its amazing, I buy the same jar in different Aldi stores and the taste is radically different. half a year ago, the products were of a different quality. Now, some sort of fake is being sold. Im very sorry for Aldy. bye
Take a star off for intentionally not offering Wi-Fi and power outlets reachable by customers as consumer does expect business establishments offer free Wi-Fi and power outlets since smart phone became indispensable. They usually have the lowest price on milk and eggs. Yet they do not advertise them or put on weekly special. Prices for eggs can fluctuate a lot like less than $1 to close to $2. Nevertheless, they are still the cheapest most of the time.
I just got back from my 2nd shopping trip ever to Aldi, I am thoroughly enjoying shopping Aldi for quality grocery and saving time and money as well. This trip, I got more foodstuff for my weight training meals: frozen salmon, canned salmon, medium tomatos on vine stems, canned sardines, and diet coke. Last week I tested their 2-liter Diet Coke, and I found the carbonation strong, and flavor was full, thumbs up!!
Its ok I just dont like that you have to have a quarter on you to pay for the basket and I also dont like that there are not a lot of cashews to help you every time I go you have to wait in a long line sometimes they well open a second register sometime and I also dont like that they dont put prices on everything theyre selling, thats very annoying cuz you want to buy it but you dont know how much it cost and you cant find many employees around to ask.🤨😟

2022-06-25This place is quirky. Very quirky, but it works, and it is one of the cheapest places to get decent groceries in a pinch. I always forget how convenient and quick of a place it can be. They don’t always have everything, but what they do have won’t break the wallet.

2022-04-01Decent price on house brand. The have an interesting shopping cart setup. It requires a quarter to unlock it. The quarter is return to you when you lock the cart backup. The problem is I dont carry cash with me. So I had to shop without a cart. Kind of annoying.

2022-05-23Regularly dont shop there. The only time I go there with the Mrs. If they have some crazy thing or items on sale. This time my lady found a gift card that was given to us by Aldi for a forgotten reason ..well we needed paper napkins and had no cash on us. ( In-between moneys). So we took advantage of the situation and grabbed some. Only thing that brothers me is that the cashier sits on a chair?? Thats the only place that Ive ever seen that operates like that and I guess I had a little problem with that at first. Its almost like disrespect or something? Idk? Anyhow, this is Chuy aka Sneeks1 Viramontes signing out for now from Alhambra Town SGV SG

2022-05-07First time here .You have to put in a quarter to get a shopping cart. What? It was impossible to get a cart out. The store itself was messy ,cluttered with boxes , machines and merchandise on the floor blocking people from walking. Alot of empty shelves in the early afternoon on a Saturday. Store only had 1 register open eventhough there was plenty of workers walking around talking to each other. There was a long line of customers. Cashier looked miserable and i could clearly tell she didnt want to be working there .Who ever runs this store is completely failing.

2021-05-02Super affordable prices. You can get your stables like dairy, produce. But I love that they have new items every week. These some Aldi finds from the last few weeks. I guess cinco de Mayo means tacos, queso & churros.
