Do not use this rental service. This is an OFF OFF airport rental car company. 10 miles off off. Logistics are the worst. Save yourself the anguish and time by just booking yourself another rental car. If you already booked and you are calling them to pick you up at SMF, just hang up and go inside the rental car building behind you and rent something else. Best advice I can give you. They charge you $25.00 to drop your car at airport. They close at 530 pm so you have to drop your car off before to close out and if after then you have to pay $25 and you definitely have to Uber to the airport. I definitely would not rent from here again. No pets! There are better options. They should not be an option for the airport. Staff is just as clueless as their policies. They don’t even look you in the eye when they say you have to leave your car at the airport and we will charge $25.00 to go pick it up or that if you drop off the car you are responsible for the car until they check it out in the morning. They don’t have a locked facility so it’s a roll of the dice. They took about 30 minutes to come pick us up at airport and that was after I had called about 8 times to get a live person. The drivers were nice enough. Sorry, this place is not in anyway at the level of airport rental car service. At best, local use, but you are putting your trip in jeopardy if you trust that this is the best option. We did and ended up cancelling everything and going back to the airport to rent a car. Luckily it only cost us 3 hours of waiting and frustration. They charge everything up front on your credit card. Most car companies charge when you are done with the rental.

Excellent customer service and vans. I never buy the insurance but I did this time and it saved me. I called Sam and he made it easy for me to get a replacement van. The prices are great. I would definitely recommend this group to family and friends.

Terrible company. Guy was late and sick. I think his name was Dan. Understaffed. Van was dirty. Took forever. They lied and kept my deposit upon return stating it was for deep cleaning due to per hair. We never had any pet in the vehicle whatsoever. Tried calling and explaining that several times to no avail. They sent me pictures showing 1 or 2 hairs and I explained that the van was dirty when we picked it up. We said that upon check out. Manager basically told us to kick rocks. Worst rental company and worst rental experience in my life. They lost a customer for life and every chance I get I will tell people to stay far away. Zero stars would be more appropriate. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for...sometimes less.

I have no issues with customer service. We picked up our rental mini van, off site of the San Fran airport. Was weird that they hire a Lyft driver to pick you up, instead of their own shuttle service??. We returned the van last evening in Sacramento. Of course, the rental agreement says nothing about an after hours $25 fee. Additionally, the agents at San Fran never mentioned that, nor did they mention that you dont return the van to the off site lot, you return it to the economy parking lot at the Sacramento airport. Of course their after hours are apparently from 3pm on, which makes a lot sense for a rental car company. Through calling the phone numbers, and going thru a series of prompts, we learned that we leave the van unlocked, with keys under the drivers seat, until its picked up the next day. So I wonder, if it were stolen, whos liable. Called this morning, trying to ensure that the vehicle was accounted for; and was notified that they will probably have it picked up by 4pm. Of course, they charge a $200 deposit/rider fee; which theyll refund in a timely 5-7 days, which seems like a real joke. With this whole experience, I will never rent another vehicle from this company again, and will tell others to avoid it. Crazy business policies, I dont see how they can compete, apart from only the their daily rental fee being cheaper.

I had an overall positive experience with AVP Van Rental. I rented a 15 passenger van for a group outing in Sacramento. The agent I checked in with was pretty friendly and straightforward with all the charges and additional fees that could be added. I highly recommend getting insurance and prepaying for gas. Also, be sure to walk around and inspect the van for damage etc before you leave. I had no issue and received my full deposit back. The van itself was pretty new and clean. We only cared that the stereo/aux jack worked! I’d use this company again for renting vans in Sacramento 100%. The reservation agent on the phone was actually very responsive with my questions and it was a smooth process. She even gave me a AAA discount!

Bad customer experience, They are renting vehicles without even properly cleaning inside and out. I rented a minivan it had big dent and scratch and dirty. When I complained about the condition of the car, he responded Do you want me to cancel the reservation, we are trying to help you out by renting our vehicle during these busy holiday season instead of offering another clean vehicle or thoroughly cleaning the existing one. He didnt even step out to inspect the damages of vehicle along with customer, Customer had to find and record all dents and scratches for him. As expected he tried to sell insurance $28/day and full gas tank when I told him I already bought insurance from the site I made the booking he tried to scare me by saying your insurance covers only 5 passengers, it doesnt cover all 7 passengers in your minivan. If you want to rent look somewhere else.

EXCELLENT if you know the secret!Vans are much better than average. Leather seats, electric seats, SIRIUS, etc. and the price is very competitive. Excellent staff.Now the secret: Hotwire lists this rental car company but the pickup instructions are inaccurate. Youre directed to call a phone number for pickup. That number then transfers you to a sacrament number that doesnt answer!Know the secret: Airport Van Rental and Airport Car Rental (Airport Rent a Car) are NOT on the airport, and they are the same company!Make your reservations directly with Airport Van Rental, and call them directly when you get to the Sacramento Airport rental car location.Now youre an insider and know the secret!

AVOID THIS PLACE! So we rented a van that was apparently at the airport through “ACE Rent a Car” and it ended up leading to this place, no street signs, this place has a horrible location. When we arrived the clerks were very rude( both of them) they gave us a van with a advertisement sticker attached to the rear bumper, I mean come on, we are paying for a service, not getting a complimentary van while we wait at the dealership for our oil change. Luckily we were able to exchange it, the vans are DIRTY, they have this arm pit odor, you have to inspect the vehicle yourself, so be prepared to spend at least 30-45 minutes just to get you on the road. If you can spend a little bit more, I would highly recommend all the major agencies.P.S. “ACE Rent A Car” are brokers, be prepared for the unexpected.

Worst service. Some disclosures before anyone thinks about renting from Sacramento because you dont expect this until you face it.- When you rent a car online thinking it is from airport, it is not. It is 10 miles far from airport.- They claim they provide the shuttle service. They dont say it is only for those who landed from flight. They dont give ride to locals even from airport. You discover that after you book.- They have good fuel price but caution : they dont provide refund. So even if you use only 20 miles, they charge for the full tank which is pretty high. I didnt get any full disclosure or acknowledgement when I signed up for fuel. I was expecting to get charged for the usage.- When I was there, they had internet down. But I think this is okay considering above.

He didnt even step out to inspect the damages of vehicle along with customer, Customer had to find and record all dents and scratches for him. He found a small chip in the windshield which I think it was there before and he know about it. He went to the windshield chip right away to point out without checking anything else. He also said he doesn’t want customers like us. If you want to rent look somewhere else. If there was zero rating I would give zero.
