This company is a nightmare. Sent to me via AAA. I have a $432 bill now because the tow messed up the alignment on my car. Jesus was the driver and Jesse is the manager that I can’t get ahold of anymore. It’s a nightmare. Missing out on money from work and having to pay this massive bill for this mistake. AAA said they’re not responsible for it when I tried to file a claim.
If I could give zero stars I would. Advantage was dispatched by AAA and they left us stranded for 6 hours. Every time I called I was told 30-35 minutes. 6 hours after I called, AAA someone else showed up to jump start us, 5 minutes later we were headed home.
First of all, I was sent an Advantage Towing Driver sent was sent to me by AAA. I have contacted AAA so they know exactly how I was treated by this Advantage Towing Driver. My battery was dead, under warranty through AAA, yet he found the time to lecture me on how AAA cannot just be called out just got a jump my car for a battery. Then he lectured me on how when he gives me a new battery and the car doesn’t work it’s not AAA’s responsibility. I asked him if he was going to change the battery or not, then he told me “ Let me tell you how the world works”. I stopped him there to tell him I don’t need a lecture from him on how the world works. He did change my battery, but what an incredibly rude and bitter person and for absolutely NO reason. Avoid this company!!!!
They were very quick to respond when my car was totaled in a hit and run accident and pick it up. However, what happened following was ridiculous. They fended off my insurance company and the salvage yard pick-up process FOR OVER A WEEK!!! Despite me signing a release form and collecting the remaining items from my vehicle within 36 hours of it being at their yard. They continued to hold it so they could get more money out of my insurance company, which also is holding up my ability to get the car assessed, leaving me without a vehicle. Completely taking advantage of people and their situations.
Was recommended through AAA. Absolute rude customer service. Left me stranded for nearly 2 hours without hearing of an ETA. Called the towing company directly & the individual that answered was rushing me off the phone & refused to provide me with an information on an ETA, he just said that he “has no idea, the drivers name is Jose and is on lunch break.” Mind you, the request was submitted via AAA at approx 10:30pm. I contacted AAA again around 12am to advise them that I’m still stranded & the towing company hasn’t provided me with an ETA. AAA ended up canceling the request to have it routed to a different company because even after all of this wait, the company advised AAA that a driver cant come for an additional hour & a half (approx 3am).Ridiculous

Predatory. They take advantage of people who were in an accident by charging ridiculous fees. For example, if you want to get something from your car during the weekend, you have to pay a $136 gate fee.
Called for a tow to a mechanic 1/2 mile from where the car was since I did not have other means of getting it there. They quoted they would be there in 1 hour, I called back after 1.5 hours to see if there was and update to the ETA, they said another 20 minutes. I waited another 30 minutes and called back to cancel after waiting for 2 hours since the mechanic would be closed before we got there. After I hung up from the cancellation, only then did the driver call back saying he just got the call. This company does not respect their customers or their time. Do not use them.
Dont try anything on the weekend. Weekend staff is NOT friendly and charges extra fees for everything. The weekday staff was very friendly and helpful.
This is the absolute worst tow yard in the world. They make RoadOne look good. They are extremely rude and unprofessional and cuss at their customers. They should be shut down for extortion. They try to force you to leave your car at the lot longer so they will be able to charge you more. They tell you what you need to get the car out and then make up more stuff when you get there and then say it was a simple misunderstanding when they directly lied to you.
If I could Give 0 stars I would I usually never post a negative review however this company is by far the most unprofessional unethical company Ive ever dealt with not one call was given to me saying that they rerouted the router my little brother was waiting in the sun for 30 minutes and this 98ﾟ weather and no call from them then they started avoiding my calls then the guy when he finally answered rudely said that they sent they cant do it and they told Tripoli but nobody ever called me by far disgusting of a company
Very disorganized. Dont bother calling for info because they give you the wrong info over the phone then basically a too bad when you show up in person after they straight up lied to you. Tell you what you need in advance? Why would they do that when you can just show up and waste your time by having to run around getting print outs and cash. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but now I know why Towing companies have such a bad reputation. Shady, sheisty and just want your money. 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
Theyre a bunch criminals and should be locked away for extortion. 120 dollars for a gate fee after hours. They charged me 340 bucks for towing. 60 dollars a day for a storage fee. My car got stolen in city heights and the towed all the way across San Diego. Conveniently there not open on the weekend.. The worst thing is they have a contract with the police department so they get a lot of business. They can charge whatever they want. True professional scam artist they are.
My car battery went dead. I called AAA and lucky for me they dispatched Advantage Towing. I am not kidding when I say it took me longer to call this into AAA than it did for Advantage Towing to arrive to help me.. My drivers name was Aymen he was courteous, professional and quick to get me back on the road again
MO was awesome. AAA is lucky to have such an outstanding driver. Customer service was exceptional! Highly recommend Advantage Towing to anyone in need of a tow. He rescued me quickly and took exceptional care of my car.
This is an illegal towing company who committed theft by towing my car at 5:30 am from my assigned parking spot at my apartment complex which is private property. They would not answer any questions regarding why it was towed and held my car with my keys and phone until I paid them $250. I reported this to local police without any help. My apartment manager spoke with the company and received no information of why my car was towed. In addition to their illegal activity, they called me obscene names while in their office, hung up on me 3 times, rolled their eyes while I asked questions and treated me very disrespectfully. They should be SHUT DOWN because they are CRIMINALS!
As you can see from the other reviews, the field technicians can be excellent — mine was fantastic — but the owners/business managers are extremely shady. I needed a new battery last night even though the battery I had in the car went bad after 7 weeks. Clearly it was under warranty and had been installed by a previous AAA contractor in San Diego. The owner’s brother was manning dispatch and angrily refused to honor the warranty, saying that AAA called him and there was no paperwork on the previous battery. He demanded that I pay the full price “and work it out later with AAA.” This despite the fact that the technician and I had just spoken to AAA and received all the details on the previous install and warranty. Numerous phone calls went back and forth over an agonizing 1/2 hour before the guy finally gave in. At least it gave me a chance to say: “I was born at night, but not LAST night.” Shady, shady, shady.

I ran out of gas and was able to flag down an Advantage towing employee on Fiesta Island. I had no money (just $4), but the driver didnt hesitate to give me the gas he had which was enough to get to a gas station. These guys are friendly and professional. If I break down, Ill be calling them. Very good people.
Jose Gonzalez came out to unlock my car and did it so fast I didnt even notice. He was very friendly and polite. He was also there faster than they said. They came out in 10 min. I will definitely call them if I need them again.
Charged me a make believe price of $490 To tow my car less than 5 miles then added a 4% charge on top of that bringing my total to $509. I felt like I got ripped off hardcore.
I received time efficient friendly customer service from a young man today. I am in town on business..and at the the time of need was running late to my conference. My car wouldnt start this morning on my way to work. Jay came out and serviced my battery 10 minutes before his scheduled arrival time. I told him that I had to be to work so he worked quickly and did a great job. he was very professional and friendly. Because of him i was able to get to work on time. Please give that man a raise he clearly deserves. The customer is always right ;)
Hands down the absolute worst service and the most disrespectful men I have ever encountered. I accompanied my friend/coworker to the tow yard and we were immediately met with sarcasm, disrespect, flat out lies, and overall extremely disrespectful individuals (Isaac and Jesse- although who knows if those are really their names). I understand that people are likely not the friendliest when they arrive to a tow yard only to shell out tons of money to get a car they rightly own, but we had no issue with the company upon arrival. Our intentions were honest and we were simply trying to obtain information. We believe the car that was towed was towed in error by a neighboring business owner and just wanted to see evidence so we could provide it to our property manager and prove that the car was actually parked in its assigned location. That simple request ignited a ridiculous back and forth. When it became very clear that they were providing false information, changing their stories, and were blatantly misrepresenting their legal requirements to a vehicle owner. Particularly, they refused to provide documentation on where the vehicle was parked and said we had to take them to court to see said information. I had to make multiple reminders to them what the LAW requires when it comes to towing. They still refused to cooperate. I was appalled at how they spoke but more disgusted by their lack of respect toward smart (and clearly educated) women.I guess the only up-side was that the quote the night before was $410 for pick-up. That morning it was $360 and somehow the invoice only demanded $300. This business is far from reputable and lacks integrity and decency in all forms. My advice- avoid getting towed but if you are unlucky enough to meet the men of Advantage- best of luck.
On 9/17/2019 I was greeted at Vons in Point Loma by a very nice and professional tow driver from Advantage Tow (AAA). It was not an easy job; pick-up and delivery was very difficult at the 5:00 busy traffic time. I am very thankful for his exceptional service. I am sorry I did not have any cash on me as he definitely deserved a tip.

AAA called this place on my behalf after my battery needed a jump. They sent out a technician that couldnt even get that right. He put the jumper cables on backwards and fried my electronic system then lied about it. This company is so dishonest. DO NOT CALL THEM and if you use AAA tell the you dont want to use this company. My driver Jessie or Jerry I forgot his name but he know’s I’m speaking of him. He was very quick & professional. He towed my car from the Anytime Fitness parking on Rosecrans to a place of my choosing. I felt bad I didn’t have any cash to tip him because he very well deserved it.
When my motorcycle broke down at 10 at night in a dark area and the flat bed my bike needed was a couple towns away, somehow Andy made it there with a quickness and Im so very grateful. The service i received was fast, efficient, and got me where I needed to be in the shortest possible time- with no hassle. Thank you very much AAA, Advantage towing and also Andy! I highly recommend this place!
Horrible experience! AAA ordered a flat bed tow for my Beautiful little low profile bmw. AAdvantage showed up without a flatbed. I questioned This and the tow truck driver assured me he could safely tow my car from Hillcrest to El Cajon. WRONG! They DESTROYED my front bumper in the process. the dealership they towed my car to confirmed the damage on arrival. When I called Aadvantage Tow, they were jerks. Wouldn’t give me the owners name etc. now I will fight them through my insurance and court if necessary. Horrible company.
Great service. George the driver was friendly and helpful. Dropped me in front of my work, then took my car to repair shop. Fortunately, I broke down just half mile from work. Then he even brought my badge, ( which I left, in car), back to me, on his way back. What a great company. They were so fast and I was stuck at a very busy intersection. Thanks Advantage!!!!
Called AAA at 11:15am, Khaled from Advantage Towing arrived at 11:40am (ten minutes before AAA promised), I had a new battery by 12:05pm! Same price, maybe a little less than the dealership had estimated, and I didn’t have to leave my house! Khaled is professional, explains everything in detail, and is obviously super quick. 5 stars for sure!
Horrible scamming going on here. Completely lost my key fob and blamed me for losing it when I never decided to have my vehicle towed here.
This company is unethical and fraudulent in everything they do. If you use them be prepared to be ripped off in more ways than you can ever imagine. I asked for a battery jump for my car and they couldnt even do that right. They blew out all the fuses by putting the machine on backwards. They are corrupt and crooks.
I called AAA for a dead battery issue. I was stranded at a 7-11 store. The driver, Santiago, arrived within 15 minutes and was done 10 minutes later.Would reccomend them for all roadside assistance or battery needs!
Eric Brown came right on time. I have an older van with security/alarm/ inoperative hand unit/weak battery issues. I was thinking just tow it to my home and Ill figure something out later. He called and seemed confident he could reset but if tow was needed he would do it. I was skeptical but thought OK give the process a chance. After a few minutes he was able to reset the security set up and jump the battery which was the cause of the alarm issues. He then followed me home which was fortunately close to where my vehicle broke down. The vehicle likely still has some issues but Eric provided excellent service and got me on the road again in short order. Thanks.
A little Old lady stuck on the mcrd base lost her keys we help her get a hold of advantage towing they got there and opened the door and let the alarm go off and didnt attempt to shut it off .the lady was trying to figure how to get home using the phone and the guy got in his truck and left without saying anything leaving the alarm going.she didnt know what to do 9:00 pm at night and left her behind. We help her get a cab and brought her to the MP Gate. Lucky we stayed to help. They need experienced people at night when going on call, not leaving A little old lady behind !!!

This tow company is the worst ever. The management are dishonest and they are thieves. Their technicians don’t know what they are doing and they will screw up your car with something as simple as a battery jump. They polarized my battery then tried to get me to go to a family member’s mechanic shop. They are THE worst in the business.
We were lucky to have Ozzy come out to serve us. Super awesome guy. Getting a flat is never fun, but he was very efficient with changing it for us, and gave us great service with a great personality.
I mean they got my car towed to where I told them. Guy who towed it took over an hour to get there, was not friendly as if I’m not paying them to do this, and told me he would say my car was totaled which made me freak out when really it just needed a new battery terminal and had a short somewhere lol. This guy came out. Didnt get his name. Older guy with a beard. Didnt know what he was going. He didnt have jumper cables with him, could not figure things out, seemed confused. Has anyone heard about a service to jump start dead batteries not having their charger charged or not having cables? So sad. Yes the guy told me about his story when he lost half his finger. Im like tmi bro. So he said at the end the reason he forgot the equipment he was not feeling well. Then call in sick !!!!! AAA should not hire these guys
I was told one price over the phone and was told if I get there before 5 that is the price I would pay. I get there 10 or 15 minutes before 5 and had to wait for whatever reason and was charged an extra 110 dollars because they finally did everything and it was after 5 when everything was finally done. I even called to see all I would need and they told me and when I got there they asked for extra and took forever. Even after I was told a final price they still made me wait before I got to pay. I think they just try to get over on people to get more money.

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY - they have technicians that will purposely put jumper cables on backwards causing your car incredible damage and then try to get you to take your car for service at a family members shop. They are all crooks!

This place takes advantage of people. They tow for AAA then if they think insurance will pay they charge $210 for towing to their facility and charge $50 a day. They target people disoriented after an accident and confused about what to do. Never let them take your car!!!

2022-05-18Had a blow out on the freeway while on the way to the airport, called them up, they sent a driver to me in about 5 minutes, dropped me off at the airport and towed my car to my house 45 minutes away! Very straight forward and to the point with everything, very friendly driver. All around a great experience!

2022-06-14This place is absolutely disgusting. It’s roach infested and the people have no customer service. I called because my car was towed and they told me I had to call the cops when I already did and they did not want to help me at all. I called the police to clarify and my car was here. Well fast forward, my husband calls and they tell him he will get a call from them around midnight or one in the morning. We never get a call. So we go down to the place at two in the morning and no one is here. We call because they are listed as twenty four hours and they tell us it’ll be a forty five minute wait and they were surprised we were still awake (like yes our car was towed, what do you expect). Well thirty five mins goes by and apparently it takes everyone in the office to go tow one vehicle. There’s also tons of glass and who knows what else in the parking lot. Well we finally get our car back at three in the morning and I have to say these are the worst people.

Would NOT recommend thier services to anyone! My blood is boiling by how I was treated and talked to on the phone by this company. 2022-03-24The company was assigned by AAA. The tow truck driver called me and said he would be about 15 to 20 minutes away. There were explicit instructions that I was in the car inside the Firestone parking lot. Then I get a message that my driver was on the scene but with no way to contact him. I was with my car the whole time. I asked the mechanics at Firestone if they saw anyone around back and they said they had seen a tow truck drive by without looking or stopping. Clearly he wanted the GPS to show that he was in the area but not actually do the tow so he could take a cancelation fee. He did not try to look for me in the parking lot or call me even though he clearly had my phone number. When I tried to call the number back there was no answer. Terrible, unprofessional, duplicitous service.

2022-07-13Drivers routinely lie about having provided service on AAA calls. There are dozens of reviews documenting this. The tows are probably much more profitable incentivizing the company and perhaps drivers to ditch stranded motorists if they can pick up a tow.

2022-07-01AAA battery service request. Technician did NOT SHOW UP at the address I gave as I stood directly in front waiting and watching for him. I never left that address and stood right beside my car with AAA card in hand.I saw a text come up that he arrived but he was nowhere to be found. Claimed he showed up and completed his service request, making me call AAA again and wait another hour and a half for help.Technician name was AymenI called and he just said to call AAA and hung up.

2022-07-25Waiitng for an hour and the guy calls me with a bad attitude and ask if i still need help and he said well they are too busy so he doesnt know what im going to do?... WHAT?! I pay for aaa service for emergencies like these and this is who they work with. Terrible company and nasty fella on the phone. Btw he never called back and I was waiting another hour just for a funking jump. No one came! So mad!
