Why does 99 Ranch market think it is acceptable to sell its customers rotting produce? The produce selection is horrible here. Bags of bean sprouts past their best by dates sit on the shelves oozing. Its really gross and disappointing that they think so little of their customers. I dont cook with meat nor seafood, but I wouldnt be surprised if those departments are ran with the same negligent attitude. Buyer beware.
I like this store but some of the employees are rude and some are great Today I went and asked 2 ladies that were talking to each other (doing nothing) if they had a certain tea I was looking for... first they ignored me and then one lady sent me an isle that was totally different from what I wanted. It was like she sent me to the isle so that I would quit bothering them. Its a 50/50 chance of getting great service or horrible service. Left the store a little disappointed.
Get all your Asian grocery needs quickly and easily. The deli section with takeout is yummy, and the diverse selection of everything from vegetables to seafood, meats, noodles and countless other items makes for fun exploring.Definitely a nice addition to the south bay!
Came to the store at 8:55 pm to buy a certain item. The store is open until 9 pm. The store was already closed and the employees were leaving, the manager said that the store was closed at 8:50 so that the employees left at 9. I have a question! How then are the opening hours until 9pm? This is the official opening hours. It would take me 5 minutes to make a purchase of one specific product. I don’t understand ... then you have to indicate work until 8:50 so that people do not waste time to go there, this is a consumer deception. And I dont understand how you can behave like that in retail, poor poor owner, because of such employees he loses clients and money...
Easy access to the 805 Intetstate Highway with plenty of parking. Was shopping for Sake and Plum wine. I asked an employee where I could find the Plum Wine and she pointed towards the liquor wall. I had to ask her exactly what shelf she was pointing towards. She seemed to be more intrested in her fellow employees who were using forrced air to clear an area of the store.
I only come here once and awhile , when Im in this area. So far all my trips there have been positive. They have a really good hot food area with a great selection, all the food Ive ever ordered there has tasted good and was hot and fresh. They have a good butcher section and fish section. Oh, their fresh vegetables are good too. I definitely recommend this place, the cashiers are nice too.
Im familiar with this chain of Asian markets however, the staff at this particular store is super courteous and helpful. This was my first time actually shopping each aisle to stock my new kitchen at my new place. I recommend this store to anybody that wants a friendly and quick shopping experience.
Amazing selection of foods Ive never heard of. Take out meal section, all kindsof dumplings, fresh fish, big selection of meat, prepackaged thinly sliced meats, seasonings, frozen selections, crazy vegetables... very wrlk stocked. i was not happy about congested entrance also being the exit. Sanitizer for carts available, check out friendly
Ive never been to this store before but it has a nice selection of asian food and fresh fish. Cant read the labels on some of the items but overall a very nice market. They actually have the chinese style duck, you know the kind you see hanging in the window? They have different kinds of cooked food. I bought rice crackers with seaweed. Delicious! Im a cracker fiend. They make the perfect snack. Would like to return here to look around some more. Im sure Ill buy more things. My daughter came her to buy ginger chews. I dont like them but anyway, they have lots of good stuff here. Store had a funny smell to it. Part fish and part something I dont know.....
One of my favorite places to shop for veggies/fruits since they have great specials depending on the season. If you know what you want, its usually fairly priced. I wouldnt recommend buying any regular branded items as they charge an extra dollar or so (like kerns juices etc). You can usually find many good things if youre willing to shop around and look. I only gave it 4 stars because not everyone speaks English. Not hating on this but it does make it difficult to communicate when youre in the meat department asking for certain meats/fish. But still, overall they work very hard and I appreciate everyone there. 😊
I have never had better service when shopping for meat at a meat counter. The meat is always fresh and the butchers are always helpful. These guys go above and beyond when service is needed. As for the rest of the store, 99 Ranch is my go to store when making anything out of the ordinary American menu. Their shelves carry everything I need. I have never had to go looking elsewhere. Also, everyone in the store is helpful and knowledgeable when you need a question answered. The store itself is kept very clean as well.
Fun store to browse and try new and different types of food. Seems pricey on some items. Parking is sufficient and store is clean. All of your Asian food and some kitchen tools are available. They have a hot food counter for prepared items and a pretty big seafood dept.
Im from oakland, ca. We have a 99 ranch market 1 city over and I go there often for my seafood and other supplies. This market tops the one we have here. The staff was super friendly (maybe we came on a good day?) Either way, good service is an automatic 5 stars for me and I just would like to say thank you to the staff at 99 ranch market.
Being familiar with their location near Balboa, I visited them as soon as they opened. The bakery staff is very amicable. Nice cashiers too. I usually stop for their milk teas, their cakes for birthdays or special treats. I also like to peek at their fresh produce for sales or buy their frozen lumpia for a quick week day dinner.
Asian food market to find this place. We go for the live fish, fresh oysters and clams and great variety of seafood and freshwater fish. There are so many packaged Asian Goods that I cant, has a poor white guy, figure out. Its a Wonderful store, and the prices are reasonable
Service is good and they have a full array seafood and oriental food. They have one of the best Chinese delis located at s 99 ranch store in the San Diego area. The Chinese deli is so good they sell out by 5 or 6 PM eveyday. The customer service at the deli is always excellent. This is the best 99 Ranch deli in the San Diego area with excellent customer service and prices.
Wide selection of Asian inspired items, variety of noodles, tofu, stir fry ingredients; hard to find items from Vietnam, China, Philippines including fish, pork belly from Spain, fresh blue crab, fish, etc. Veggies, apples while exotic may not be the best selections. Also provides store prepared items such as fried rice, chicken , pork step above your typical American chain store prepped Asian fare.Unique store, clean, limited staff for assistance.
We went to the Ranch Market and I am going to be back for all my groceries! The Ralphs near my house had cucumbers for a dollar each and they werent even good either. The Ranch Market has cucumbers for 25 cents each and they were excellent quality! The customer service is excellent, the fish are fresh, everything is amazing at this market. I was able to buy meat that was cut SO friggin well! They even have a bakery inside! I will definitely recommend this market to all my coworkers and friends!
Arrived at the store 5 minutes before closing time. the doors were already closed. The employee at the entrance said that the store closes at 8.50 because the employees have to leave the store at 9. Complete disappointment. Not ethical, not polite, cheating buyers. change your work schedule.
Great, great selection and quality as well. However, the Customer service booth employees need additional training. I approached them and asked about a certain product, inquiring if they carried it, and they said We dont think so.I actually had to suggest that they look it up on their inventory software. The two of them reacted as if I interupted their personal conversation. Shame, shame, shame! It was 7/18/19 @ 2:30pm.
This place is great. Fresh fruits and vegetables, even mangostins. However, avoid the shell fish and be wary of the fish. Half of the clams and mussels I got there didnt open (cooked same day) and some of the fish was mislabeled, if you know what fish is what then you are good, just fyi.
Asian grocery store. They have a variety of Asian goods. Most meats and veggies are fresh. I come here to buy meat for homestyle Korean bbq. They have shabu shabu meat too and dumplings. There is a bakery inside, however I dont trust the cakes because I bought one once that had mold. They do have the best milk tea Ive ever tried thou.
This store has alot of good produce, seafoods, meats, and even have desserts and hot meals. They have the best siomai for me. I always go here because this is the place where i get my ingredients for la paz batchoy. Over all youll find most engredients here for home cooked meals.
I like going there because they have varieties, fair prices, and friendly cashiers. Even though I gave them only three stars due to horrible smell inside of the store. I don’t think it comes from food... just can’t describe what is like. I have hard time breezing in the store every time I go there. I’m sure people will stop by more often if they fix the problem!!
Went to 99 Ranch for the first time ever and OMG Im in love. I dont know what everything was but I dont care. I want it all. And look how cheap the Ramune is! And I got a HUGE 3lb trout for only $18.99. They dressed it how I wanted. I could have even had it fried (but I have plans for it)! Got about 4 lbs of oxtails for $19.79. Found 4 lbs of riblets for $21( making Seonkyoungs air fryer riblets). The kitchen was closed but Im going back SOON.
If you need hard to find specific Asian groceries, this is the place to go. If youre coming here for pre-made food like the one on Clairemont , then prepare to be disappointed. All I wanted was some spring rolls, spicy bean curd, gizzards and tea eggs, they have none of that. The a la carte foods are mostly geared towards the Seafood City crowd ; theres no fried smelt, no Mapo Tofu. The workers themselves are also still learning, I asked for Shrimp Har Gow and they tried to give me pork shu mai, then got irritated when I pointed that out.Ill come back in a few months if things change , otherwise Ill keep going to the Clairemont location.
Ill give it the fact that its clean, and the staff is friendly. But the selection is super limited compared to the others. I understand that the space is limited asst this location, but some of my favorite items werent even stocked or available, and the prices seemed to be pricier.
Its kind of late to say this, but Chula Vista finally has a 99 Ranch! Back then, I would drive all the way to Clairemont to visit one of these stores. But now that they have one here, I dont have to worry about any of the hassles of not finding a nearby store. It has most of what you would find up north, plus some finds not seen anywhere else. They even have a small restaurant on the right.
It has everything you will need..and saves me a weekly trip to Clairmont..we decided to have a Hot pot for Dinner do I picked up some Dicon..bocchoy..beef slices and fishballs with stuffing..so darn good!Such a nice variety ..produce is very nice and. theres a small food court..unfortunately. theres is no Sam woos😕

2022-01-20Majority of items seems a bit pricey but they also carry many items you cant find in other places. They do have a variety of good items. Theres also a kitchen inside the store with premade food. Its convenient just off the 805 freeway spacious parking space and nice cashier. Will be coming back

2022-05-11I came on a Tuesday around 11 am so the place is pretty much empty. Store staffs are busy restocking almost every aisle. I came here for some siomai and hubbys favorite chicken feet. Did not disappoint.

2022-02-10Staff are always helpful. Special shout out and kudos to Jojo Fajardo for assisting me in finding the items I was looking for. The cashier took his time to compare the ingredients of the 2 kinds of Wasabi I picked up.
