Do not come here, overpriced and overrated. Also management cares nothing about their customers. Had a problem with one of the machines not giving credits on a game card. After explaining the situation to the owner they did not understand anything I said and preceded to tell my I was wrong. Good thing is they just saved me a lot of money cuz I won’t be comin back again 🙏🏽
Well Ive been a monthly goer to Zodos for about 20 years now even having my birthdays there. Bowlero is just so expensive. I could drive up to Santa maria go bowl 4 games or even more, drive back and it would still cost the same. Theres just no good deals here. It used to be a hot spot for my folks going at least 4 times a week for food and drinks but no more. Very sad it was such a great family place.
We have gotten a few meals from Zodos during quarantine, and everything has been awesome!! Extremely fast, fabulous prices and family deals, and delicious. This local business has also been generous to our medical community during this time, and has donated lots of yummies! Cant wait to go back to normal and come in for more fun.
JACK IN THE BOX IS BETTER!!!The food and service is horrible and the price for everything went up. Small plate of tater tots was $8…you can get fries, hamburger and a drink for the same price somewhere else. If it continues like this Zodo’s will be out of business soon.
I went to zodos/bowlero today to watch a football game. I sat at one of the high tops in the bar area. I literally sat there the whole first half of the game and not once was I approached by the staff to take my order or ask If I wanted anything. Literally 2 hours there and not once approached. Oh and they were not very busy. There were plenty of empty tables. I very rarely post reviews but this was so ridiculous I couldn’t help it.
Ive been bowling for years and this is my favorite bowling alley by far. Ill admit, at certain times and on certain days the prices arent great, especially because you pay per person per game. However, if you come when the prices are low then you can have a great bowling experience with clean and oiled lanes. The bar and food are also relatively well priced and high quality.I give four stars because the price system seems a little scummy and I prefer to pay by hour.
Used to go here all the time for wings and bowling. Apparently theres new ownership and the menu really took a tanking. They have been cutting corners on the food now. The loaded potato skins are better at Jack in the Box now and down to the side of ranch is straight out of the hidden valley bottle now. Ew. Cross off another place I used to eat at. Its sad, zodos down to the last few days of old management always was really good and great vibes.
15 minutes to get a beer. I was the only one there. Thanks new ownership. To be fair, they did comp me the beer. They were super short-staffed. But thats a ownership problem. I hope they fix this. We would often come here on a moments notice. Prices has skyrocketed. $45 for a family of 4 to bowl one game is ridiculous. Also, the not so great but palatable food is no longer good and cost more. Sad face
My previous review was 5 stars but new corporate ownership changed so many of the things that made Zodos great, so I have to drop that down to 1. The staff is spectacular, especially Charity, and Ive always gotten stellar service and became recognizable simply because of how often wed go there for the best pizza and wings in town. We wont be going again now that the menu has changed. New ownership made a terrible decision and has ruined a Santa Barbara staple of great food, great service, great fun.
Please read the recent reviews. This place used to be great but apparently they have new ownership and its... not good. Too expensive and unfortunately this is the only bowling place in the SB area. We spent $65 for one four-person game that lasted ~30 minutes. Not worth it at all, getting *severally* overcharged for something takes all the fun away. Nobody was collecting unused balls so they were all over the place and you need to awkwardly go around to every lane looking for the right weight, hoping you didnt steal someone elses.I recommend just making a day trip to LA next time you want to bowl.
Under new management which seems at this point like a HUGE bummer. EVERYTHING went up in price to the point where it just doesnt make sense to go here. None of it seems reasonable. At this cost I may as well take the family to Disneyland. However, it is not even worth going here for beers now. Also, it seems like if you are going to charge premium prices you should at least deliver a premium experience, which they did not. We went on a hot day and we were expecting air conditioning which was not working and our lane was experiencing a comical level of technical difficulty I have never seen before. I guess the old business model must not have been working, but I cant imagine how this will work.
Sat down for some food 5 feet from the server and was ignored for 20 minutes until I left. Other servers walked right by too. It was only me and one other couple in the entire restaurant and the server spent the time chatting. Very unprofessional, or maybe they don’t serve my kind?Still left a quarter as a tip.. 10,000%+ tip!!Sucks… this placed used to be great. Was coming here for years but now they won’t even take my money.
This was my favorite place in the Santa Barbara area. New corporate ownership recently took over and gutted the menu, which arguably was the best in town. The cost has gone remarkably up for a considerably worse product. All but a couple of their staff has resigned. The only saving grace is the remaining general manager, Charity, who is awesome. Sadly, what was once a weekly trip for my family, and often large group of friends, is off the table. What a loss for me personally and for the whole community, which already lacked solid food options.
Uhhh food is honestly pretty bad now. Chicken sandwich is just tenders on a piece on a bread. Cheesy bread was something that looked like it came out of the microwave. No flavor at all. 15$ for hot wings. The place used to be great. Why did you give in to the big company.
See below for updated review..We had the z supreme pizza and it was great. However we werent sure if it was to have a sauce under the cheese. Can anyone answer that?UPDATE...7/16/2021SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED3 of us just walked in and were ignored as if we had not taken a shower in weeks.Nice young lady near the door politely said to take any table.30 minutes of nothing after that.No server, no food no beer.So we took our money to the Creekside. All 3 of us agreed Zodos is off the list..
Definitely a fun place to hang out at.They have a bar as well as an arcade with a few games along to make time pass while you wait for the bowling lanes to free up. You will need tokens to play the games, they arent too new so I dont think its worth going here just to play them.Bowling lanes have a tendency to get crowded on weekends, come early if you dont want to wait too long.
Ive grown up in Santa Barbara and Zodos is my favorite thing. Bring friends or family and enjoy the bowling. They have an amazing employee named charity. She just has an amazing spirit and has helped us numerous times, She is part of our bowling family. Tri tip sandwich is my go to when bowling. Make sure you bring friends and family so everyone gets to enjoy the fun.
Same zodos vibe, which is great! 😊 front desk staff friendly & welcoming. prices have increased substantially... (especially food & bar). biggest problem is the FILTH... bathroom looked like it hadnt been cleaned in days....same for sitting area at lanes. yuck! hoping my next visit to zodos will show some improvement.
Definitely DID NOT DISAPPOINT!Ive been going to Zodos for years. My wife and I both bowled on leagues and have tons of love and adoration of how things were several years ago. We moved to another state a few years back and were extremely excited to visit Goleta and as such we scheduled two separate events during our vacation. Our first event was a corporate party with my bosses and their bosses - so the stakes were pretty high. Not only was the food very good but the service was absolutely incredible. Our event manager, Charity, made the whole process a breeze and I didnt have to worry about a thing. My CEO personally took me off to the side and thanked me for all the hard work and planning to make the event happen. It was an amazing experience and every member of my company had a blast. My second event was a pretty small party celebrating our friends wedding. Equally delicious food and experience overall. The only caveat being that our hostess didnt give us as much attention as we had hoped. Didnt bother us much since everything else was amazing.
UPDATE 9/5/21: Met up with friends last night. It took forever to get menus. The server had to go and print more. Drinks took forever to be delivered. They were out of 2 drinks we ordered but were not told for about 20 minutes and we had to order something else. The menu is different, some items like the sliders we used to order are gone. We thought we would stick with our go-tos: wings, potato skins, and garlic fries. Extremely disappointed. The quality of the food was not good. Nowhere near what it used to be. Even the vibe was different. And there was at least one toilet that had a black ring inside like it hadnt been cleaned in a LONG time. Gross. Not likely to go back anytime soon. So sad.2017: My favorite garlic fries!!! Their food is pretty tasty and the bar has great drink choices. The arcade is fun. We spend a lot of time in there! Bowling is also super fun. The only problem is the lack of parking. If it is busy, finding a parking spot is very difficult which is why i am giving 4 stars.
Very bad service not enough staff the food is not good, I was told at the bar I couldn’t get a beer I asked for because they didn’t have enough mugs. These people don’t know how to run a place it is very unfortunate I used to be a regular but since the change of management the place is no longer the same, time to look for another spot.
Fun place with some great bowling deals! Full bar, and their beer selection is awesome! Great parking and Hotels, drugstores and an Albertsons within walking distance. The food there is also very good! They also have a decent little arcade. Great for kids! I would avoid College(Wed)Night But Im old!
I ordered a salad from here & caught them grabbing my salad with their bare hands , I asked them about it and they said they use their bare hands WITHOUT GLOVES to prepare all their food. That’s disgusting & im pretty it’s illegal & that’s the biggest safety hazard in restaurants. Please do not get ur food from this disgusting place you don’t know where people’s hands have been.
Zodo’s is usually a fun time but we were severely disappointed by our experience today. We checked the website for open bowling hours which stated 9am-close for Saturday. We arrived at 10:30am with our 4 year old niece to celebrate her birthday, only to see every lane full because of a bowling competition. The lady at the desk was nice and apologized and told us lanes would likely be open at 12pm. Fair enough, we went to get food and came back at 11:30am, asking to be added to the wait list. They added us to the list and stated it may be just a few minutes after 12pm.We check back in around 12pm and noticed at least 5 lanes open. Yet the front desk staff said no to our request to bowl, as we had to wait until the competition finished. I asked- “Can we play in those open lanes?” A rude lady said “NO. It’ll be 30 more minutes at least.” Confused, we decided to wait 20 more minutes. We waited in the arcade and went back at 12:20pm, noticing now nearly ALL lanes open, (only 2-3 lanes being used by the competitors) but still the rude front desk lady said no. We decided to leave.Overall disappointed as our niece was bummed, and we were confused by the waiting process, when there were clearly lanes open. Several other families came in as well to bowl and ended up leaving, upset. Some signage on the front door or alerts on the website would’ve been appreciated.1/10 experience (only giving a 1 for the arcade -which by the way had multiple broken games) likely won’t come here ever again.
Really fun place to hang out! Ive only been in the evenings, which I wouldnt really recommend for families with small children because of the type of music they play and the college crowd, but for adults, there is an excellent bar with great drinks and a delicious full menu. They also have a great happy hour. The bowling is not super expensive and the system helps make it fun with replays on the screen, etc. Its a fun place to hang out with your buddies for a bit of friendly competition!
Pretty darn good as far as bowling alleys go. There are a decent number of beers on tap. It can get a little crazy/busy on Friday and Saturday night with the wait lasting as long as an hour. But whats nice is that theyve gone automated so you can check in and wait at the bar during late night happy hour from 9-11 while youre waiting on a Lane and then receive a text once its ready.
Welcome to California. This is it. This should be your first stop the day after a long trip, to get a grip on where you are. Santa Barbara lacks in down to earth places. So, if you are tired of paying $30 for scallop tacos, come on over.Ball caps are flat. Shorts are long. Suns out = guns out. Lots of ink. Everyones friendly, but that theres that California distance...The place is clean. Its loud, but not as bowling alleys go. Food was what you would expect, but with better variety and presentation than most places. Easily over 30 beers on draft. Theres a pretty respectable arcade, but nor enough proper pinball for my tastes.
Love this bowling alley. We used to go here all the time when we lived in Goleta/ Santa Barbara. The food is actually really good and the beer options are plentiful. I used to play in league bowling here and it was a great time. Now that we have a 2 year old and live out of state this place is still a blast. I would highly recommend trying Zodos if you are in the area and like bowling, or food, or beer, or fun!
Great place to hang out with friends! They have a full bar, small arcade, and great service. Everyone is friendly. The place itself is large and clean. Felt a little cramped bowling next to other people with little/not enough seating for everyone. The food is good, but nothing special.
The Zodos burger was amazing!!! The bacon was incredible, the mushrooms and cheese melted in my mouth, the burger was cooked perfectly, the top of the brioche bun was picturesque, because of all the fixings/garnish, the bottom of the bun was mush... no problem, I used my fork and knife and cleaned my plate... service/Jess.. top notch.. thank you for a wonderful meal/dining experience... !
I wish I could say how nice Zodos was, but I couldnt do anything once I got there. I arrived on a weeknight at around 6 without any sort of special promotion or anything going on to find that every single lane of the place was reserved for another 2 hours. There was no sign or anything telling us this or on their website, and when I was there (to make matters worse) NONE of the lanes were being used at all. I didnt want to wait two hours just to bowl, and because they rented out the entire place I had to take my money elsewhere. I will not be returning to Zodos.
Unfamiliar with the area and needed some time to kill. From my search results, Zodos looked like a fun place to visit. The staff at the main counter helped with my newbie questions with setting me up for a bowling lane and shoe rental. I played a couple games and the atmosphere is very clean and fun. The arcade was fun but due to the 101 shutdown, there wasnt any ticket payouts. I personally liked the Jurassic Park shooter game. I will definitely come back with my family and make an afternoon of it!
As far as bowling goes, the place is fine. The bowling balls are greasy and it smells wierd. The lanes are fine and the prices are acceptable. This is a good place to bring kids though. But the arcade isnt the best. The prizes arent good and the machines are all broken except a few. Basically the arcade was run down and broken. But it still is a place to have a lot of fun.
So FUN. Family friendly, they help with setting up with our 7 year old.BAR is GREAT, LOT OF PINTS to choose from. 16 or 23 oz?...Happy Hour 23oz was only 2$ more. DONE!Use axxess card for Game tokens, kids love it. But $40 in tokens got my 2 kids a couple erasers as prizes.Bowling is reasonable but the shoes are pricy, fam of 4 x 2 games and shoes = $48.My kids love it.
Its a nice bowling alley, and the food is better than youd expect from a bowling alley, but its expensive. If youre on a date or taking your kids after work, after renting shoes, youre looking at around $40 for just an hour of bowling. Its like theme-park pricing. I find it somewhat offensive.
Great for kids. Lanes are well.maintained and easy to operate. The line for counting up the arcade tickets is insane. Where are people getting thousands of tickets? Took 45 minutes to ultimately get my sons tickets counted and for him to then get get a pixie stick and plastic plane. Never again.
Overpriced, packed, and the arcade is a cramped and miserable experience. At least they have a halfway decent notification system so you dont have to sit around for 3 hours while you wait for a lane. Its the only bowling alley in Santa Barbara or Goleta area, so they have no competition.
My experience has varied wildly by the day. First time I went I had great service and the food was great. I got the meatlover pizza and loved it. The second time I went I sat for 20 minutes after I asked for a menu and ended up leaving and going to rustys across the street.
The hostesses in the bar was not customer service oriented and didnt offer any solution when we approached her asking about seating, except there could be a spot low Its a little sad when your own employee dont know how to handle customers or even know how to do their job. Everyone seemed like a they worked in a morgue.
A bit on the more costly side. The shoes for bowling show obvious wear and have an, what Id say, outdated style. Some friends of mine that also went bowling had some technical issues as well. Its also worth noting that the whole process of being and having fun at Zodos could be confusing to many if theyre not accompanied by someone whos gone to Zodos many time.
Imagine if there was a bowling alley at Burning Man or EDC. Now you dont have to because this is that place! Santa Barbaras hottest party is at Zodos. This place has everything. Neon lights on the bowling lanes, glow in the dark balls, pizza, beer, a midget luchador named Steve, and an arcade that could pass as a Chuck E Cheese run by Willy Wonka. (Ok there actually arent any midgets.) Wednesday nights are college nights and you can rent a lane by the hour. Its a pretty good deal.
ZODOS, WHAT CAN I SAY...GREAT PLACE TO CELEBRATE A KIDS B-DAY PARTY. KIDS CAN RUN AROUND AND BE THEMSELVES. WHILE AT THE SAME TIME BECOME EXHAUSTED (WINK, WINK)PARENTS CAN UNWIND A LITTLE. HAVING A GLASS OF YOUR FAVORITE BEER WHILE CHASING AFTER YOUR LITTLE ONES OR HANG OUT AT THE BAR. ATMOSPHERE SEEMS TO BE FULL OF HAPPY BUZZ PEOPLE WITH AND W/OUT KIDS/BABYS HAHAHA (TRUE STORY)HUNGRY?! ORDER SOMETHING OFF HE MENU. FOOD IS OKAY. (ORDER AS SOON AS GET THAT HUNGER FEELING. CAN TAKE SOME TIME). SOMETHING TO TEMPORARILY FILL YOUR BELLY WITH.

2022-02-10We went on a Wednesday afternoon, just after they opened at 2pm. Service was great, and friendly. There were quite a few open lanes, which filled while we were there. Fees on this day were per person per game. No happy hour, but they had afew drink specials. We got a pizza and some chicken strips. No complaints. Gaming arcade is no longer token and paper ticket based. Its all via a Bowlero rechargeable card. The arcade card costs $2, so dont toss it if you think youll be back for more arcade gaming. Money and tickets all get loaded on to the card. Overall a good time. 👍👍

2022-02-14Bowling side is fine. Restaurant side has much to be desired. So hard to get an order in. Employees not doing much including the manager even tho it wasnt that busy. You will have to chase them down. Theyre busy watching TV or on their phones. Food came out cold. Only had one young waitress who seemed to be running everywhere getting everyones orders. This is not fair for her. And I know the manager saw me trying to get her attention so to be ignored and have to constantly wait says alot about her management style. The waitress will be getting a good tip but I dont think Ill be returning.

2022-04-30Zodo’s USED to be the best. It was so fun to be there, the atmosphere was great, the arcade was fun, but NOW… well. After it was bought out, the prices are crazy. It’s not longer a place you can just casually go to have some fun, it’s a splurge. Even the arcade prices are insane, it’s like $2 per game. I mean WHAT??? My friend and I played 3 bowling rounds, totaling probably 30 minutes overall, and it cost about $65.Just really disappointing overall given how great it used to be.

2022-02-14Zodos has been around for as long as I can remember - its a staple in this town. Theyve grown tremendously over the years and Ive never been more impressed than I am now! The new, high-tech screens, way better food and drinks and they are seriously improving the arcade as they focus more on entertainment. One thing that hasnt changed is the customer service. The people who work there really take the time to make sure youre having fun!I remember a party I planned for my daughter a few years ago and it was totally last minute! The manager Charity and the other employees moved things around and made it happen for us. It was a huge success! Now that my daughter is in high school at DP, I am the co-chair for the After Prom Party committee. Each year we host a blow out bash at Zodos so our kids have somewhere safe to go after prom. Charity has worked hand and hand with each new chairperson to ensure that every single detail is taken care of, and these kids leave (at 4 am ) having had the BEST evening of their lives! I was nervous about being In charge of such a big, important event, but after meeting with Charity and seeing how professional and confident she was about everything I am really excited! I honestly hope she never leaves! Last year was my first experience with the after prom party and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed! Its the perfect place to host an epic event or spend a Saturday night with friends and family! Santa Barbara is woefully lacking in fun things for kids (and adults) to do, so Im thrilled Zodos made it through the pandemic and is thriving!

2022-04-14A friend and I used to visit Zodos for lunch every few weeks over a period of years. Then Covid intervened. We went back for the first time in two years today. The bar was empty with no serving staff. I went to the front desk where a very helpful lady explained that Zodos doesnt usually open until later in the afternoon but that she would get us anything from the menu that we wanted. She was as good as her word and arranged for sandwiches and beer. The food and beer was good, if not exceptional, but the atmosphere of an empty bar was a little surreal.

2022-05-07We are a local family, and have been Zodos customers for a long time.We always loved the place, but now that its under new management its so expensive that we decided not go back again! We noticed the place was really quiet for a Friday night, and after spending a small fortune for mediocre food and bowling for 5 people for an hour I understand why the place is empty. Its too bad! The place used to be packed, and it was affordable but not anymore.Wont be returning!

2022-02-15I am a Goleta local and zodos has always been my go-to! Recently under new management I’ve seen drastic changes (some good and some different) one thing remains impeccable and that’s the service! The other night a lovely manager named “Charity” was very helpful. She heard our concerns and took immediate action to ensure our visit was nothing short of perfect! Her kind demeanor and welcoming nature makes you feel like you’re at home! The communication to patrons and her staff speaks volumes to her management and leadership skills! She is quick yo resolve issues and provide the highest levels of customer service! Charity is a person centered and costumer-centric individual who will bring the greatest change to bowlero! Great asset to the team. Also kudos to Darrien and Lance who keep the bar pumping with good vibes and positive attitudes! They bring the fun, energy, and amazing drinks to all who visit! Highly recommend this establishment whether you’re looking for a family outing, solo sports night, or fellowship with friends and family! Thank you to the amazing team who shows up everyday to provide excellence and community to Goleta, Ca!

2022-06-10This place was a blast, and the food was really good! Go here, even if its just for a beer.
