I never leave bad reviews. So the fact that I’m even doing this is an actual first.This was one of the gloomiest places I’ve encountered in my 10 years of living in LA. I saw two separate couples leave without a car in front of me. Low and behold, I left without a car. A lucky escape for sure!She questioned the full coverage I had paid for in advance. Then came the “I need proof of a gas or electricity bills in your name” .Completely bizarre and they just end up losing out on money since it was a pay on arrival booking.Do yourself a favour and just book with a reputable company.
1 star just because I cant give 0. 🤬👿To start, I was dropped at the pick up location where U-Save would pick you up to bring you to the offices. The transfer never came, I waited 40 minutes, called twice and no one showed up. I took an uber to the offices.I had prepaid the amount of $167 (this was for the car and personal accident insurance). To my surprise, they told me I need to add liability and collision (I would have done it if their website was more updated and easier to understand). Also, they told me that I cant drive around LA without paying for the tolls because they are everywhere. Biggest lie ever, I drove around 5 days and not once did I pass by tolls (drove to Malibu, Santa Monica, Venice, downtown, Beverly hills, Hollywood, everywhere..)That was an extra $258 which I didnt expect at all. I so the total so far is $426 but to my surprise they ask for $350 as a deposit (which I understood and paid). After a day I get another $52 charged on my CC. This makes my total $478 instead of my $167 which I had prepaid. No one could tell me what the extra $52 were about and they would never return it either. They just said maybe its because you took the car 10 min before the time you booked, seriously? Maybe you could have mentioned anything before charging my CC when I didnt approve. WORST RENTAL CAR EXPERIENCE SO FAR. AVOID AT ANY COST.
Beware!!!! Company clearly states there is a shuttle to car! That was not the case. We wasted hours of our time on waiting for a shuttle that never came. Finally after waiting (with three little kids) someone told us you need to take some sort of city bus and figure it out. This is unacceptable. Hopefully this company change how you advertise so other families don’t waste so much time. They DO NOT have a shuttle to car as stated. They charged my car in full even after I emailed the customer service to explain that we were there and were waiting for a “ghost shuttle”! So please…the discounted rate is NOT worth the hassle. Choose a reputable company that has somewhat of decent ratings! Wish I had done my homework!!! Never again!!!
Where to begin??As the previous lady from Louisiana states, they will accept your debit card for online booking, then refuse to accept it once you are on location. After they frustrate you immensely, they will act as though they are doing you a favor (approved by manager) by accepting the debit card only if you pay an additional deposit a purchase their insurance.Upon returning the car, we arrive at 5:55 pm and they initially refuse to provide shuttle to the airport,Stating they close at 6 last shuttle is at 5:30. Transportation was only provided after yet, another encounter of debate.Save yourself the hassle. Rent elsewhere. Im sure more terrible reviews will come as we saw people turned away because they only had debit and were refused transportation back to the airport.
I would give zero if there was option for it. Worst customer service ever. Rude and arrogant. Richard is the worst. They don’t know anything about customer service. He thinks he owns the Company. So I went to check in. Lady who was helping me said for supplier choice it’s truck or van. I chose Van since it has a trunk. She than brings me small car forgot which one it is.I took it but it didn’t has arm rest so I said I want van. I can’t do car without arm Rest. Richard than came and said if you want van it’s 30$ additional per day. Take it or leave it. We don’t want to do business with you. All vans are out which was in deal than again he changed his statement saying she did mistake. Right away I knew he is a liar. Other customers got van after me I asked couple. Another rude guy came and said if you want truck it’s 10$ additional per day which before wasnt. I swear they look alike may be they are relatives. Both rude and arrogant. He cancel the order and gave my money back. I felt I was SCAMMED. Not sure who monitor behaviors like this. Are you still allow to do business ? 🤔I don’t recommend this place at all. Never ever going back again.I rented car from other place eventually but wasted 3 hours of my time with this guy. There is a REASON why they have so low stars. Wish I would have knew about reviews before and had videos recorded.
I haven´t booked any rental car with them yet, but I am planning to go to the States next month, and this company is one of the ones I was checking. Ramsay was SO NICE explaining me all the things I needed to say before booking the car, because I am having some problems with my driving license in my country. He has been really nice and gave us a lot of confidence. Thank you for all your help!
Easily the worst rental car experience I’ve ever had. DO NOT rent a car from here. I made a mistake and booked here because of a better rental rate…what a mistake. The customer service was horrific. They placed an “accidental” charge on my credit card. Did not explain about returns and charged us an extra day. The employees should be embarrassed to work at such a place. They don’t care one bit about people traveling from far distances.The manager asked us in a sarcastic tone if we’ve ever rented a car before. My fiancé and I travel on a regular basis…we rent cars all the time. This place was such a joke and easily the worst car rental I’ve ever had.
WE had to take a shuttle that dropped us off in the middle of the city to wait for another shuttle to get or car. We were got a message that told us to call when we arrived. I did this when we arrived and no answer after waiting 30 minutes for the shuttle we realized our hotel was right across the street so we went and checked in and had to walk to the car rental lace which was about 5 blocks away. There was a very long line and only 2 workers its took about 1 hour for us to get through the line. When we dropped off the car a gentleman came out inspected the car said everything was fine. WE than took the shuttle back to the airport. We were charged extra charges 2 months after we rented a car, had our credit card dispute and they removed the charges I was now charged again on my credit card for the same charges and no explanation of what the charges are for. Its very rude to comment back and say that what Im saying is not accurate why would I be saying it. I want people to know I also emailed you and you provided me with documents that were not what I was given and showed proof and you still are charging me extra charges you claim you didnt charge me at check out when I was charged before on Priceline for the rental. Have a nice day. There is reasons people write reviews for this main reason.
The worst experience ever !!! Do not rent from this so called rental car place unless your willing to pay about $600 in unknown fee’s. It was ridiculous how they can allow customers to books through Expedia then arrive at that location to only find out you still need to give them another $400 on top of your promised car rate. I showed up there to find such poor customer service from the staff. But thankfully enterprise rental car service came to rescue . We made a reservation less then 5 mins before arrivals to only walk in and be pulling off in. Car! U save did exactly the opposite don’t make the same mistake I did book with enterprise or any other rental car provider.
I went to try and pick up a car from here but they do not take debit cards. I explained this to the front desk. They said they would cancel the reservation free of charge. Jokes on me because I got charged half of the reservation amount even though the agent said I would not be. Frustrating when they say one thing and another happens. Disputing with my bank.The shuttle service is also a very long process involving 2 transfers. They never answer the phone when you call. Save your self and do a car rental that has a direct shuttle that actually picks up at the airport. Saving a few extra bucks is not worth it, choose another rental company.DO NOT RENT FROM HERE
Vincent was great! He offered us a beautiful Jeep to rent. He gave us a thorough tutorial on taking off the roof of the Jeep. We were new to the area and Vincent was kind enough to suggest restaurants for us to check out. Returning the vehicle was also very easy and the customer service was friendly. I’d rent from here again because of the service.
Stranded me in the California mountains. No customer service. Did not replace car which only had 9000 miles on it. Told me, here’s your money back now find your way home. Worst car company in the world. Save your money by spending the extra money. Customer service Rep Tee is a scam artist as well. Didn’t say anything, just refunded myMoney and said good luck getting home! Trash company who hires the employees no other rental car companies want. U-Save by going elsewhere
Book at your own risk. They dont answer their phone or email and they charged my card for a no show-fee a month after cancelling my reservation in person where I was assured I would owe nothing.They dont take debit cards, and had hoards of unhappy people leaving their store when I was there.I was told I would receive a call back the Monday before last, it is now Friday of the following week. Its just bad business
The experience was a disaster. The wait for the shuttle was way longer than all other agencies, every customer being hosted ahead of us was complaining about something and when it came to my turn they didn’t have a baby car seat as requested in our rental, so we had to switch to Hertz to quickly solve the problem and lost our advance payment. Their solution to the missing car seat: that we should go buy one ourselves. No sense of customer satisfaction at this agency.
Great customer service! I came in trying to make my reservation after leaving my credit card at PF Changs the night before. However, they needed my physical card. My brother-in-law ended up having to book the rental. The employees there not only got us a better same day rate, but they expedited the rental process!
Pros:- Very low price (this is probably the only reason why people come here)- All the cars in their lot seem in decent shape. We got a 2021 Nissan Versa with only a few thousand miles. Very clean, no smell.- Return drop off process was quick and easy. Didn’t get a receipt on the spot (no receipt afterward too… but final charge was correct), was only given a verbal confirmation saying the car was okay, no additional charge will be applied.- Friendly shuttle bus driver and short wait time for shuttle. I was told to wait 15 min, but within 5 min the driver showed up and took us to LAX.Cons:- From LAX to their location you need to transfer shuttle once. Back to LAX is a direct drop off, no need to transfer.- Loooooong wait time. Most customers are not aware of their insurance proof requirement policy, so it took a lot of customers a long time to call or look up on their phone for insurance proof. Otherwise, be ready to buy their expensive insurance! Based on my observation, processing time per customer was like 20-30 min (versus most major rental places are probably like 5-10 min). So, buffer 1-2 extra hours here.- They are like the Spirit Airlines of the rental car industry. There is a cost for E~V~E~R~Y~T~H~I~N~G~.Return the car too dirty (like a lot of sand)? It’s $175 cleaning feeDon’t rent their e-toll tag? It’s $55 per incident/use + toll feeDon’t have your own roadside assistance? It’s $8 or $10 a day feeDon’t have your own collision/comprehensive insurance AND a PROOF? I forgot the amount, but it was probably like $15-$25 daily fee.We rented the car for 2 weeks, so their cheap daily rate made a huge difference on the final bill. I read a lot of (bad bad bad) reviews about them before deciding to rent from them. Most reviews complained about the agent, pick up process, hidden fees, etc, but none were about mechanical issues which was what I care about the most. For 2 weeks, renting from them was around $300, from a major brand would be around $600.We had our own full coverage insurance, and we brought the proof. We have AAA so the roadside assistance is covered. We planned the route carefully so we knew we wouldn’t be near any toll road for our trip. If you have AMEX, sign up for their “Premium Car Rental Protection”. You pay $15-$25 (depending on the state you live in) per rental period (up to 42 consecutive days), its primary coverage, not like most credit cards who provide free secondary coverage. This way, if you wreck their car, you don’t have to use your own insurance (so your premium won’t increase).Attitude from their agents wasn’t too bad, but because of their convoluted process on checking your insurance documents IN DETAIL (or trying to get you to buy this or that add-on coverage), so many customers lost their temper and cursed at their agents, so that caused both parties to be really unhappy. Some agents tried to stay cool as they were just doing their job. The real problem is their company‘s sketchy rental policies, but that’s also why they can offer a rental car this cheap (think about the notorious Spirit Airlines).The car we got was very good, a pretty new 2021 Nissan Versa with only a few thousand miles. No smell, no mechanical issues. We were happy with the car we got. There were some minor scratches on the car and we made sure to do a detailed walkthrough during pickup inspection and noted all those scratches on the contract.My suggestions are: Read lots of their reviews, be prepared (insurance proof, own roadside assistance, etc), have loooooow expectations (be ready to waaaaait), but go rent with them, you will save money!Will I rent with them again? Maybe. If for a long period of time, I will, because it saves a lot of money. But for a 1-3 day short stay, I wouldn’t. It is too much hassle to deal with for a small savings.
Vincent was very professional and patient with my pickup today. The process took a little longer than expected but I still appreciate how nice he was walking me through the process and providing my options that were not available previously. Overall Vincent was amazing and I’m glad to run into him for my trip here in LA.
I had a reservation online prior of arrival to the location of the car rental. The agent asked me for my driving license and credit card that I used for the reservation , so far so good . Then he asked me for electrical bill which I told him I don’t have on me and no one told me to bring such a thing. He was wasn’t so pleasant and told me that he can’t give me a car if I don’t have a proof that I’m local. I told him that I came with an Uber and I don’t have a problem to send it to him once I get the car and drive home. At that point he left the desk to another desk and didn’t want to serve me anymore. I stepped out to go find another rental company in the area and the driver of the shuttle ( M’r -T claimed to be the branch manager ) told me that he will help me to get the car. He did help me to get the car without having the electrical bill and promised me unlimited mileage ( they tried to allow me a limited mileage and I showed him that on the reservation it says unlimited ). He said “ don’t worry , I gave you unlimited miles “.I went out to get the car and he followed me so we can inspect the car . The car wasn’t as clean as you expect but at that point I just wanted to go , not until he told me to write a review for him right away. I did have him a good review at that point and told him if not him I’ll put the worse review for poor customer service and misleading customers.As soon as I start driving the check engine light turned on for the entire rental days.When I returned the car they did charge me for the exceeding mileage . I was trying to call the office numbers but they never answer calls, I left messages and kept trying to call and no one to talk to.I won’t rent a car from this company
Don’t rental any car here, 1: check in needs at least 30 minutes one person. 2: I reserved a full size car, they gave me a standard size car just because they don’t have full size car. Other rental company will upgrade your rental but they downgrade your rental and charge the full size car money. 3: they will sell your data, it’s a long time I didn’t got the Spoofing SMS for a long time, but after I rental car there I got the Spoofing SMS. It is just one day! 4: their Toyota Corolla needs $152 for one day. That money I can rental a BMW 530 in Sixty. They won’t save your money they are cheaters.
If I could give zero stars I would, their service its horrible, their system is horrible, you better pay the extra 50 dollars at a different car rental than wait at Green Connection/ u-save car rental. You will wait one hour in line, plus an hour to get the car, the reservations mean nothing, they have fees for everything including a fee if you have sand in the car. Do not trust that website about car insurance. Do not think you will save by picking them for a rental company. People left on ubers while I waited online.
Horrible service. Do not waste your time here. First they want the declaration page of your insurance carrier, find issues with your insurance and charge $25 per day to carry a portion of their insurance. They said I was late for pickup...yes due to a delayed flight and 2 shuttles. They said if my car was not available I had to pay for an upgrade. This place does everything to separate you from your money. I left and rented from another company.
Renting a car at USave was pretty much as easy and painless as we could have hoped for.They requested a credit card and proof of insurance (to avoid need to buy their insurance). We got into a brand new car within 30 minutes of stepping into the office.When we returned the car, the staff was pleasant and professional and we were out in 5 minutes. Perfectly happy with USave!
Charged me 175$ extra for cleaning the vehicle, when they did not give it to me clean from the first place. It was not washed. Poor company looking always to make more money from the customers. Charged also for the shuttle, while this service should be free, you picking me up for my business, since your location is not at the airport.
Never ever rent a car with them no matter what, when I dropped the car they told me my total charge is gonna be 511$ and I agreed and signed for that and they sent me the receipt, but after a few days I found out they charged me extra 175$ without letting me know and without explaining why and without sending a receipt, please be careful and don’t rent with them. I wish i can give them zero stars.Im editing my review to reply back because i was not able to reply.So I check my email every day several times and i have received several emails from you but never received the email you’re talking about regarding the 175$ even now after you said you’re gonna send it again I haven’t received anything yet.And still you don’t think it’s fraud to tell me you’re gonna charge me 25$ as a cleaning fee on site when I dropped the car and someone checked it thoroughly, and then when i came back home after a few days a 175$ charge just popped up in my account and then you say it’s a cleaning fee, and i haven’t received any receipt yet!!!!!And also when i got the car it was not clean i wanted to put something in the car storage and i found dirty eyeglasses were there and couldn’t use the storage!!
Awful ! You have to 2 take 2 shuttles to get there , busy doesn’t come for 30 minutes …. Beyond frustrating….THIS KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER , USAGE JUST CALLED ME AND TOLD ME TO DRIVE TO THE AIRPORT AND DROP THE CAR BACK …. Tee and the team were great and attentive at the LAX office. Tee assisted me as soon as I arrived to return the rental was helpful and responsive. The drivers are from and to the airport are on time and friendly. Thank you Aretxur. Only advise go in person, no one answers the phone for question or claims.
I rented a car from this place for 10 or 9 days. The price you see online is not what you will pay. You will pay double once you get the car. Also, they were very rude when I returned the car. Also, they charged me 75$ for cleaning! They will try their best to charge you more and more. The insurance price is very high too.
PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE FOR A RENTAL!I bought a package through priceline. Here i am thinking that i had scored a deal. To my surprise i ended un paying triple the amount when i got to the rental place. They charged me $45 for basic insurance for 7 days a total of $315.when i already have insurance to begin with. According to them they don’t accept the insurance that we have which we have liberty mutual. The lady that helped us “Marissa” was so unprofessional, she gave us an attitude from the start. She didn’t even have the courtesy to take us to our rental. She just gave us the keys and we had to find it ourselves but she sure did charge us for so many stuff that we didn’t need.Also, be aware that you have to take two shuttle buses to get to the rental place. After getting out of the airport we waited 55 mins for the shuttle and it was already 5:45pm they close at 6pm . At this point we were freaking out so we called up the place and one of the workers had to pick us up in his personal car because they were about to close. That was probably the only good part about this crazy experience.
Do not rent cars from this companyThis company must be closedI rented the car from this company . The result was disastrous .Firstly , cars do not have insurance and for the state of Arizona . You force you to sign a paper that you will not drive in this state If you drive , you will pay penalties of $ 0.6 / mile .Secondly , I received a car that , after 100 miles began to lose gasoline .We could catch fire .I got in touch with them by phone It took an hour to understand that the car no longer works and must be towed After four hours , someone came and picked up the car and we had to rent another car , from another company .After a week and many phones , we have returned money. This happened only because we had video recordings and I threatened to sue them !The people at the counter are extremely aggressive .We wanted to take pictures from the statement that we will not drive in Arizona and they suddenly and did not allow us
SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! Absolutely TRASH! I booked this rental and spent the next 4 days trying to call them. No answer, no communication and NO HELP. They close at 5pm regardless of what you read anywhere else. They charge ridiculous insurance and other deposits that are NOT MENTIONED. I got there and to my surprise there was 2 employees working, when I asked why no one has picked up the phones, they just laughed. RUDE and unprofessional. I told them that I am actually leaving 1 day earlier and tried calling to make sure I can get refund for that day... nope! No chance with these guys.. im staying in Cali for 5 days and now I have no car. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
Without a doubt, the worst car rental experience of my life. The vehicle was fine but customer service was non-existent. Every customer that came in while I was there had a major issue which is probably why all the agents are so defensive. Finally gave up trying to get an answer on a $50 mystery charge. Worth paying more with a different rental company.
This place is a total joke. Absolutely the worst car rental company I have ever dealt with in the 30 plus years of traveling. I can not believe Orbitz would use this company in their rental car offering. This company try’s to charge you for everything under the sun. They do not offer after hour drop offs on their property you have to drop the rental at some parking lot, then go across the street to some drop box on another property and leave the keys. And this is an extra charge to you. Not to even mention the almost non existent shuttle service. I tried calling the office multiple times after landing at LAX with no answer then on the fourth call someone answered with a very bad attitude. My advice steer clear of this rental car want to be company.
Wanted a water and electric bill?? Only able to drive the car for 200 miles over a 6 day rental? And if we wanted to pick the car up any more than an hour earlier than the scheduled time, they were going to charge us a whole extra day. Scummy, unprofessional company by any standard.
I have had the most excellent experience coming to U-Save! I have been itching to get back out into the world and to viSIT LA for years. The pandemic hits and everything freezes. Now that we are returning, somewhat to normalcy “, people are tense, excited, and regaining their sense of how to interact with one another. I witnessed an agent at USAVE by the name of VINCE, maintain the HIGHEST level of PROFESSIONALISM I have witnessed in a very long time.I witnessed him manage an excitable customer who was almost screaming at Vince for mistakes she and her partner clearly made. Vince maintained a SUPERB demeanor and calmly deescalated the aggressive client while restating company policy and making it clear that he was trying to fulfill their demands, but could only do what is within the parameters of his job. I was AMAZED at how he turned the entire situation around and brought the patrons back to themselves seamlessly. It was so encouraging to see that, especially being that I haven’t been to LA in so long, and haven’t been around people like this in a while. It renewed my faith in people… in us. With what I witnessed from this one agent….VINCE… I plan on visiting USAVE again!
WHERE DO I BEGIN?We arrived at U-Save and had to meander around a group of teenagers camping out directly in front of the door to enter.While we were waiting in line (about 25 minutes), my husband and I decided to make a reservation in order to save time at the counter. Reservation was in his name, but we used our credit card (that he is an authorized user of) with my name on it. The website charged us $306.We finally get up to the counter, and the customer service rep runs the card AGAIN and charges us $474 for a new reservation (for some reason). The rep then sees my name on the card and tells us that we cant use it because it doesnt match the name on the reservation.Which, if thats the policy, fantastic. But make sure customers know that before their card is charged nearly $800, PLUS the $350 deposit hold. When we pulled out the phone to show the rep the initial reservation we made, it had finally took us to the rental terms and conditions page, where we saw this rule! AFTER IT CHARGED US!Both reservations were to be canceled and refunded. The manager told me to go online and cancel the reservation we made, which we could not, because it was within the 24-hour cancelation period. Because we booked it within the 24-hour cancelation period.On our honeymoon, I had to spend the entire first day just trying to call this location in order to get help canceling and refunding the reservation they assured me I could do online. The next day, I finally got to speak to the manager, in which he went back on his word regarding the online reservation and proceeded to scold me for doubting that he took care of refunding the other transactions. I had to hang up the phone with him because he was being so condescending.Meanwhile, my credit card is maxed out because of a rental car that I never got. I am having to call my bank daily to try to take care of this, because U-Save, both at LAX and Corporate offices, are not helpful, nor do they care in the slightest.Never do business here!Especially if you hate mini-vans!
THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! DO NOT SPEND MONEY HERE. I went for four days we accidentally rented the car for 3 days when we got there we were told we couldn’t extend our reservation and that we’d have to pay “$27.50” for an extra day the $27 was only to pay for holding the car in the parking garage they charged us $150 which was more than half what we spent on the 3 days. On top of that it’s been a month and they haven’t returned our deposits and haven’t returned my calls or emails. DO NOT COME HERE SAVE YOUR MONEY
If you are even 1 hr late to pick up car (due to any delay) you forfeit your car rental and they do not honour the price. I booked through Expedia and when I arrived at 11:45 my reso showed 10:30 pick up. They gave away my rental and wanted me to rent a car on. The lot which was double the price. People crying, people yelling, it was bad = a hall of misery. First time I had to pay for insurance in 20 years! Even after showing proof of supplemental insurance. This place is absolutely the worse...the hoops u have to go through just to rent a car...I have never had to show proof of my declarations letter to prove my deductible and that I have insurance...I have rented cars from every rental car company on this planet...they have never put me through this before...what a terri le experience...I will never rent from them again...there is not reason for this...every other rental car company asks u the questions and keep it moving...they just want to make more money off of u...I suggest no one ever rent from this company...on top of what we have to go through from LAX to get here isnt worth all of this...just ridiculous! My booking was canceled by the company due to being late. Its true, I was late, but after leaving the plane I waited 30 minutes for their bus to take me to the office and there was a line for over an hour in the office. After waiting in line for more than an hour, I was informed that my booking was canceled. I have not received any information, email, message, nothing. U save money but you do not save your time.
Rented online thru Priceline and when we got here, they refused to honor the quote, because we had to switch drivers and CC info. The price more than doubled to almost $700, from the $315 for 5 days. We had to wait over 30 minutes for the shuttle, even though they have 2 vans and are only 1.1 miles from the LAX Metro Connect drop off. 3 other people had same or similar issues, as we were inside.
To my fellow Canadian or outsiders. Do not get a car from this rental. They refused to give you a car if you don’t pay their “insurance” even if you are fully protected. The insurance was 45 usd per day and the cost of the car was 33 usd which makes no sense at all. We used the app Turo and the experience was far more interesting.WARNING :They stole my credit card information and did purchase with it. Be careful
I will never use this service & autorentals.com again, and here’s why. First, I reserved my vehicle to be returned at 9pm on 03/13/21. The confirmation notice I received via email acknowledged that time, however the information sent to this rental agency showed 9am. And because of that I had to pay for an additional day. They were unwilling to work with me and it wasn’t even my mistake. And number two. After spending over an hour dealing with this mess, the compact vehicle I had reserved wasn’t even available, so I had to pay even more money to upgrade to an suv that I didn’t even want, just so I could have a vehicle. I feel like I was deceived and taken advantage of and it cost me over $150 more than I was expecting to pay. This is horrible business practice, and I will never use this company again. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
1 star is generous. This business is a predatory scam and will be reported to the BBB and to Orbitz for removal off of its platforms. Two shuttles from LAX to get to the car rental (both of which were extremely) late, only to be told there are upcharges that were not stated in the original reservation -- all of this after standing in a line where only 1 person is checking in the first customer (and taking his time flirting with her) while the other were loitering around not bothered by long line of customers waiting to get their car. All of the time, effort and additional money (to Uber back to the airport) could have been avoided by renting from reputable car rental companies (Hertz, Avis, etc.).
What an absolute disaster. Singed all paperwork after about 20 min discussing car insurance and that I wanted to waive coverage. They accepted, but the guy with the keys refused to give me a car. Had to make new arrangements on the spot. If you want a hassle and an upcharge after you paid thru Priceline, then have at it. Caveat emptor.
Absolutely RUDE, shaddy and will try to add on charges and refuse to refund you. When I told them I wanted a refund for that paticular charge they said I can go elsewhere...??!!!! What?! Isnt this illegal?? I then asked to speak to the manager and a so called Mr.Tee who is the GM was too busy, on the phone and gqve me the option to take it or go elsewhere. This is an offsite rental and no way to walk back to the airport to get a new rental. I then get there to return my rental, shuttle full and was told to go inside and ask for the other shuttle for a ride. I was ruddely told to go back outside and wait 20 mins for the shuttle that just left! This place should be investigated for policies they do not have posted anywhere for charges and refunds they can and cannot do. YUP CHEAP CAR RENTAL, CHEAP CUSTOMER SERVICE, CHEAP, DISHONEST AND SHADDY BUSINESS!!!!!Gave them a 1 star, because you cannot post without one.

Everything about this was horrible from getting to the company from the airport to returning it and they gave me a car with half tank of fuel and told me to return it half way filled and then charged me to fill it all the way up. They also charged me 150$ More than they quoted me. Such a joke!!!!!
The worst customer service experience I have ever received. The shuttle from the airport never came from the spot they told us to shuttle out to. Everyone had to call their own Uber to get there. When returning the car, my return time was 4:30pm. I returned at 4:24pm and for some reason was still charged a late fee and never got an explanation. Never renting from here again
Not even worth one star, went to pick up my rental car this morning, having booked through booking.com, I purchased collision liability insurance online prior to booking, the rude man at the customer desk said I needed to purchase more insurance prior to driving car off lot... I showed him the liability insurance that he said was invalid. Hence to say Usave ruined my holiday and I am now without car. Usave is definitely the worst rental dealership, U dont save UPAY

Poor customer service, false advertisement thru Expedia, once you get to the place they notify you have to have a utility bill on hand as proof of residency, and then they tell you it’s unlimited mileage ONLY WITH A PROOF OF BOARDING PASS.. local residents is limited mileage ! When questioned why a third party rental place does not state allll there restrictions, their response is.. “you should go to our Rental website and read restrictions there”, not where you booked it from.. ridiculous!! To get to this car rental office I had to take a shuttle from the airport that dropped me off on a street with no shelter, etc., So here I was standing on a unfamiliar street with my luggage, etc. From this street location I had to call the car rental agency and wait for them to come pick me up. When I got to the office my wait was over 30 minutes. There was a guy walking around ...not sure what was more important than helping the people standing in line as there was only one person helping customers in line. When I returned the car, I had to walk out into the street with my luggage to wait for the shuttle to pick me up. Where my luggage is in the pic is where I had to stand for the shuttle to pick me up for my trip to the airport. I will spend the money next time to use another car rental agency. I do not recommend U Save Car Rental.

The inside crew deserves no stars. I sat in their lobby for more than 20 minutes before I was even acknowledged. Zero friendliness and customer service inside. Would have rated zero. But outside manager was excellent and helpful, and shuttle driver was also nice and friendly. Both went out of their way to treat not only us but other customers as well as possible. Will the dice with the dogs inside, but when when it was pouring outside, the outside crew took care of us. We thank you, and then inside crew should as well.
Getting there was a two shuttle process just like they said. Service to get the car was great because it was 6pm and they close at 6pm. Make sure you bring your proof of insurance with you or you pay for theirs. Well even with proof youll still need to pay for their comp. Which was not expressed up front. It is in their contract after you get there. Comprehensive is not cheap. I have never had to provide proof with any other rental company before. Car was great. You need to return the car within there normal work hours. Which was not expressed up front. It is in their contract after you get there. You will need to take the car to the airport parking lot at your expense (26.50). Next time i rent a car Ill just need to be more aware of the no name rental companies that have great contracts.And now a few days later i look at my credit card and they charge another 99.07. Sure part of this is tax but i called and left a message to get an invoice and they will not call back. These people are thieves!!!
I had a miserable experience, renting a car from U-Serve. I have mobility difficulties. The nice shuttle driver had to physically assist me, getting into the shuttle at the airport. He off loaded my two bags & put them directly in front of the stairs to the office. Then he assisted me down, and pointed me towards the stairs. While walking (with my cane), I was looking at those stairs & fretting about climbing up them, and then later down them. I did not see the concrete parking curb (painted blue), and tripped and fell down very hard. I sprained my knee and got a huge swollen hematoma around and below the knee. This caused great pain (and massive swelling) throughout my visit, and RUINED the experience that was the purpose of my trip: I traveled to Los Angeles to be IN a wedding. I was still in the wedding, however twice during the ceremony I had to leave the group & go sit down in a pew. It was physically painful to stand, but also having to go sit was both embarrassing and infuriating, because it drew attention to me and away from the bride & groom. As soon as I gave the groom’s toast, I left the reception, far earlier than planned. I just couldn’t cope with the discomfort.Although the people at U-Save were attentive to me, after I fell, I believe that they were absolutely negligent in directing me to ascend those stairs. Later, I saw that they have a ramp, at the other side of the building. But they never told me, when I arrived. This company appears to do a brisk business. I would never recommend them, though, for anyone who needs ANY kind of special attention. They positively race through their transactions.
Such a bad experience.. our reservation was for 1:30pm, we didn’t get a car until 3pm and this was after basically being obligated to pay extra for a bigger car because they did not have the car we reserved over a month in advance. When we asked the employee why we had to pay extra if they were the ones that didn’t have the car and other companies would just give you what they had without charging extra his answer was, and I quote, “it is free to wait” which meant either we paid extra or we waited another hour to see IF they got a car for us.. when you are on vacation waiting is not free because you travel to enjoy the time you have at your destination not to be seating at a car rental because they don’t have a car they took a reservation for. He also said we could just go somewhere else, but reserving for a same day car wasn’t gonna be easy at 3pm and we had already waited over an hour.. this place is ridiculous and I would never recommend it to anyone. Lastly, they charge an outrageous deposit of $350! Higher than any other place.
Folks beware. I selected 1 star because no stars is not an option. Just because they appear to have reasonable rates doesnt equate to value services. I rented a car and placed my card on file for charges. We were told that the main driver, my husband, had to use his credit card instead. A week later we discover that we were charged twice and different amounts. We have been calling for over a month for a refund and to rectify the issue, no response from Billing or even general agents. This location should be permanently closed since they have no idea of professionalism, transparency and ethicality. SHUT THIS LOCATION DOWN ASAP. REFUND MY MONEY
I had a really great experience here. Got an awesome free upgrade, car is in great condition and comfortable, and the customer service was incredible. Vincent was extremely helpful, nice, and I love knowing that my car is fully covered so I dont have to worry if something happens to it and having to pay a huge fee. The rentals are affordable and the hours to drop it off are flexible (which is definitely not always the case). Im definitely going to be getting my rentals from here every time I visit LA!
Car was beautiful but was overcharged for several add ons that I never purchased or approved. Spoke with management to explain the situation and their response was extremely unprofessional, less willing to listen to my concerns about the additional charges. Excess charges included an entire full day of rental, although the vehicle was returned the day before as instructed. Nothing was explained or communicated like most of the other car rentals. Definitely will not be returning to use their service or recommending.
DO NOT USE! Worst service. I had to make another reservation as my original credit was stolen and canceled. They refused to take a new card. Then tried to charge me 50% for canceling my original reservation. The party in front of us and behind us left due to all the fees they were trying to add. We were there for over an hour.The drop off was much smoother but also had another customer leave to go to another car rental company. This is not legit. I am surprised that they are on Priceline. I did contact Priceline and make them aware of their business practices.
I had an excellent experience with this rental company. Getting to and from the office took time, but the savings were worth it for me. Im rich on time but not on dollars. I found their policies to be straightforward - I read the terms of agreement before I signed anything and that let me know just what I needed to do to have an easy rental experience. I have full collision and comprehensive coverage with my regular car insurance which applied to this rental car. It was a really easy process and I would use this car rental service again.
Absolutely Horrible Service. Unfortunately, I went to their LAX location and they were unable to accommodate my reservation. In addition, they were unable to refund the $124.15 I prepaid to reserve the car. I attempted to cancel while there, and was informed their system prevented them from updating the reservation. I was provided a number to customer service and was informed by the Operator this happens very often to customers. They were unable to cancel the reservation in the system even though we did not receive/rent a vehicle. As a last resort, we were provided an email address and below is the generic response I received. I sent them detailed copies and screen prints confirming the reservation was made directly with them and not 3rd party and of course they disappeared and never responded. They didnt even bother reviewing the supporting documents I provided. Final note, their employees shared this is a common complaint. People prepay for a better deal only to arrive and be informed no vehicle and no refund.Firstly, I would like to say how sorry I am that you were not able to rent from us on this occasion. I understand that you booked through a third-party booking agent. I gave 1 star bc I loved the car that I was upgraded to. However, I purchased insurance when I reserved the vehicle and gave the information when I got the car. However, once I got my receipt I saw that I was charged additional insurance adding up to almost $100 more. And all the extra hidden fees. I paid way more for this vehicle than I would have paid with Budget. I should have stuck with Budget and Enterprise!!!!!! When I called the billing department the woman was SO RUDE!!!! I didn’t read the reviews before I reserved the car and that was my fault. But lesson learned!!!! Never again will I rent from U-Save bc I DID NOT SAVE!!!!!!

I give them my full coverage insurance , but they did not accepted and forced me to buy their insurance It was late and I didn’t have enough time to go to a different rental car. Good luck getting from airport to the rental agency. Good luck on early drop off. There instructions are terrible. Don’t tell them their instructions are bad and don’t show them others agree and don’t show them their three star rating and ask about it. They are rude arrogant and terrible. My initial cost for my rental was supposed to be a little over $200 for four days. When I came in, there were some things I was unaware of that I needed to have, so my total changed to be a little over $300. More than I thought, but I could still afford that.My bank statement and the rental agreement, stated that I paid, $544.73, and the employee working with me never disclosed that, he kept saying the $300 cost. (this is on me, cause I didnt re read it until way later).I returned the car yesterday, and was sent my invoice, which stated I paid $332.23, although my bank still shows the $544.73 withdrawal. So Im unsure where the extra $212.50 went but reached out the their headquarters for clarity and to ask for the $212.50 back.This is also my first time getting a car rental, so I dont have experience with this, but I definitely felt gypped and disappointed.The spot is a little sketchy as well.Definitely a learning experience for me, but I think you can absolutely go somewhere better.

Watch the the scam these guys pull, you reserve a cheap car then you get there and somehow your reserved car got rented to someone else. Then all they have left is their upper tier cars but you have to pay for the upgrade. Then you have to buy different insurance and the previous insurance is non refundable. I was assured Id get the difference in money I spent back. Still got billed. Decent reliable cars but anticipate spending 50% more than you agreed to. Instead of $400 ish for 4 days of rental itll cost you near $700. Go pay the higher rate at Enterprise. Itll at least be what you were quoted.
We rented a car from here via Pricelines supplier choice option. In order to get here from LAX, there is a two shuttle process, it you drop off outside of their business hours you will be charged $27.50 to return to their other location. Be prepared to wait a long time for the shuttle, a long time in line at the office if people ahead of you, and a long time for them to manually type out all the fields in the rental agreement, not receive a car with a full tank of gas. Do a thorough inspection of car, both are cars had lots of small dents and scratches.
Price was good for rental but customer service not so good. They do not except debit only credit cards and wouldnt take my wifes credit card because my name was not on it. Rented. Midsize car like Nissan Sentra or Toyota Camry as stated in rental reservation. They give me a Nissan kicks hatchback thing that I had to jam all my stuff in (where a sedan like Sentra or Camry etc fits my luggage great) and had to pack on my kids. Because they would not give me a sedan and argued with me that it the same thing. Bad service all together. Will not be going back.

By far the worst part of my vacation. I prepaid for this rental 2 months before my trip. They send you a text message telling you how to get to their lot once you get off of your plane. They say they run every 15 minutes, but we waited for 45 minutes before we Ubered to the actual location. Once there the gentleman behind the counter had the audacity to tell me that, well you were late picking up your rental, so its not here anymore....but since you prepaid Im not gonna let you lose your money. For one: I wouldnt have been late had the shuttle you promised actually arrived, and two: I prepaid for my rental, so even if it sits in your lot for two days, Ive already paid for the car. Moving on the clerk asked for a credit card (standard procedure, no worries) to put a security hold. OK cool, Im used to this from previous rentals. So I drop my car off and two days later my card is charged for a two day car rental. I reached out to them and they say everything is on the receipt they emailed me. I informed them that I have seen the receipt but that I have already paid. The guy that answered says that he will have a manager get back to me. Im still waiting. I just ended up contacting my credit card company and disputing the charge and submitting the two receipts. Long story short, do not use this company. They are unorganized, unprofessional, and thieves.
This place is a joke. Yes, its cheaper than other options, but thats because it is the literal worst. The process of getting to the building and getting your car takes FOREVER. Its a two-shuttle process, which is fine, but the shuttles arent super clearly marked and you have to wait in a random parking lot for 20 minutes before the second shuttle comes to pick you up.Then you get to wait in line at the actual rental place for another half an hour before you even get to talk to someone. And any money you saved by booking here quickly goes away with their hidden fees. This process was absolutely ridiculous and unnecessarily complicated and inefficient. We will definitely not be using this company again. Lets just hope were able to drop off the car and get to the airport a lot quicker on our return trip.
They have no customer service plus they dont give you the right information on what you need to rent a car till you arrive there they have ridiculous policies for rental cars i dont recommend you to rent there. Plus they have very but very poor customer service their staff need more training on customer service.
STAY AWAY. The day of pick up, their shuttle bus did not pick us . We called, no answer. we were left with no car no way to get around & missed our event on a holiday weekend. Next day, the guy tells us they were busy & ran out of cars. They did not honor the reservation nor reimburse us. Plus they charge for an insurance that we NEVER requested. I said no online and no in person yet I ended up with a charge. Unprofessional & thieves. Customer service dont answer phone or emails. The booking was a flight hotel & car bundle. They provided the booking company with an international number & no schedule. What a nightmare that ended up costing us 100s. They still will not respond. STAY AWAY FROM THEM
I was extremely nervous to rent here due to all the bad reviews...and honestly while standing in line seeing customers swear and yell at the person helping them cause the customer was having issues. Happy and surprised I had zero issues and it was really smooth.What I observed was customers mad and mistreating workers due to not having the proper documents if they were using their own insurance. I have my own insurance but prefer to purchase the rental companies and always just budget knowing any company has a max incidental fee of about $300 (although mine was about $100 only) also knowing I need to pay for extra insurance of atleast $25-$50 a day..so I always budget for this since every rental company requires the same thing.My only complaint was it was hard to find the rental shuttle at the airport.Standing in line observing how poorly the staff was treated due to them having extra costs...which everyone knows there are extra costs...it made me feel pretty bad for the staff, and Im honestly not sure how the young man stayed so calm.
Customer servive was great. Very professional. If you decline insurance, the representative does not get offended and becomes nasty like other places. You just have to show that You have your own insurance. No awkardness, no hard feelings, no resentment. They remain friendly and professional. Cars are well taken care of and in great condition. Best car rental experience in all my years of traveling.
Car was nice, Customer service was terrible. I rented through Orbitz, which said this company takes debit card with a $400 deposit, but when got in to the center, they said they changed their policy. I let them know it would be imperative information to include for consumers coming from out of state... Instead of offering me other solutions when i asked what i could do because thats how i planned to pay for the deposit, they just stared at me.. I also offered to pay cash for the car, and put the deposit on my credit card that had but they do not take cash.. they ended up taking my debit card after all... very pushy, rude. I ended up canceling my second car reservation and paying more elsewhere because of how I was treated.EDITED BASED ON REPLY FROM OWNER: this is whats listed on the website. This does not say that debit isnt accepted - Im glad for the exception, thats why I mentioned it.I went to Alamo for a second car rental, and they didnt try to tell us it was $80 fee for tolls. They gave us the option for 3.95 a day, for a MAXIMUM of 19.95, not the 116 I was charged.Lesson learned.

Bottom of the barrel prices AND service. Its a two for one special. I made online reservations here because they were the lowest price in LA at the time and believe me, you get what you (dont) pay for. Full disclosure, I did make the reservation under two different names for driver and payment, which was the crux of the issue. Most other websites will not allow that or at the very least, have disclaimers on their site that both names must be the same. Not so here. When it was discovered the names didnt match, we were refused a rental and told there was no way to fix the issue. We were told, by the less than lovely Alma, that they were all sold out of cars so we couldnt rent a car with the correct information on the spot. We were also informed by Alma, that wed have to make a new reservation online (even though 30 seconds ago they were sold out of cars). Alma did not seem to care at all that she was lying right to our faces when called out on that fact. We ultimately decided, screw this place and went to Dollar Rent-A-Car where our total time at the counter was 5 minutes and the experience was very pleasant and cordial for only a few dollars more. Dollar Rent-A-Car is also 24 hour drop off, whereas U-Save charges an extra $30 for after hours drop off. If you are dropping off after hours, they text you a picture of a tag to access the lot at the airport from their personal phone. Very ghetto and unprofessional on every level and in every way. Would not recommend, even to people I dont like.
We reserved a car through PriceLine and were unlucky to land a deal with U-SAVE. Drove all the way from mid LA to LAX and after waiting over 30 minutes inline, we were told that since the driver name did not match the credit card holder, we had to make another reservation and since the care was going to be used locally, unlimited miles would not be granted, we must provide a copy of our utility bills and make another reservation! If you ever have even confirmed reservation with this rental company, call them in advance and make sure you will meet all their unusual conditions, before going over.
Ultimately I was more disappointed with myself than U-Save. I had forgotten that I have full Auto insurance that covers me when I rent cars. I ended up paying approximately $150 more for insurance. I still feel like the agent should ask and he probably knows about this but wants to make a commission, Im not sure. Be sure to ask if you already have full Auto insurance.
I was a little skeptical at first because of all the negative reviews, but Tyler changed all that right away. He was nice and professional but still very understanding to how I was feeling. He made sure I got the car that I wanted and needed for my trip without any hassle. He reassured me that I was in good hands and I had nothing to worry about. When I do decide to rent a car again I will definitely be talking to TYLER!! I would recommend this company and his service to anyone. Tyler will take care of you with understanding, great customer service, and a smile. I believe he’s a great asset to this company and I’ll certainly be back.
I was charged for canceling after arriving and being told by an agent that they could not rent me the car. I reserved thru Expedia and was told I would not be charged, since I had chosen the pay later option. 3 days after returning from my trip I see U-Save charged me $40 and an additional $80 to cover the costs of canceling. I spoke to customer service who denied I had chosen the pay later option and instead had pre-paid. She told me shed flag the case for her supervisor to review but that I shouldnt expect to get my $$ back. I would NEVER rent from here again
The absolute worst rental place I’ve ever experienced. Would highly recommend to do your research before booking with these guys. Traveling from LAX to go home (we live in California so we’re considered “local”) they wanted us to provide a utility bill as proof of residency. Now who carries that while traveling? Seriously? Even worse, at our home the utilities are all included in our rent. So now what? Well, they would not rent to us so after a long day of traveling we had to book an Uber to get home. Our California drivers license apparently doesn’t mean we aren’t residents of California. Another gentleman at the window next to us was in process of canceling his reservations at the same time for another issue. Absolutely the worst service.

Horrible customer service and super scam!I rented online and when I got there they said they couldn’t rent without adding insurance together (which made my bill double!). Together with this scam the women there was super rude and said she wouldn’t rent the car to me since I compained about this insirance that nowhere said about it. Horrible from top to bottom and I reccomend people get away from this company!
They wouldn’t let us rent a car because foreign debit car was no good as a payment. Wasted 45 min at the counter. The service was also slow.EDIT:The company has charged $300 deposit from the debit card that couldn’t be used for the payment. So we didn’t get to rent a car but our card was charged $300. Great business for U save!
I wish I could give this place no stars, as in do not give them your money or credit card information. I have literal receipts and evidence of this place scamming us of our money. We thought it was a prepaid rental because no one told us about their non-prepaid services and we gave a worker enough money to cover 3 days, and then our credit card in case we decided to keep the rental for longer. Which makes sense. We come back, were told our new total would be around $600 which was including the $443.92 we already gave, so our credit card would only be charged like $200+ extra. Later the bank statement were given is a posted date of $1042 meaning that was the final total. So we got scammed from $443.92 cash and another thousand. When we reached their customer service they said they would investigate and ask, however we got little to no feed back and want to take it up under law. Do not buy from this place we merely wanted to rent a car to drive around los angelos for vacation and was ripped out of our money which hasnt let my mother stop stressing for the entirety of our vacation which we rarely get to go on.
The vibe was not professional at all. I lost my bag there and I had such a hard time getting someone on the phone. And when I did they were rude and hung up on me more than once.Not helpful at all. I dont recommend this place. I didnt save, but lost valuables in that bag no one seemed to find. There were only 2 customers in there, including myself, a couple and the staff. The couple was upset and frustrated with the service they were getting. My Calvin Klein bag was left on the counter. The cameras were no help inside. They could only tell me about footage outside when I was about to leave. Rent somewhere else!!
This car rental company has great rates. However, the shuttling from the airport to the rental company is terrible. I didnt expect to be packed in with an abundance of people especially right now with Covid 19. You do have the option of doing a rideshare to the site but you would need to budget in more money. Customer service could be better also once you arrive. With the amount of people arriving & renting, only three reps doing the best they can to service everyone is a lot on them and the customers. Although, the car ran well and was clean on the inside, when we received it the cleanliness on the outside of the car could be better. The front windshield had dirt speckles on it. My husband said dont worry about it well clean it. I would probably think twice about using them again.

First time renting a car via Priceline. Just when I was so confused at the airport at how to find U-Save, I finally figured out! I caught the G-Metro Line to the remote car rental shuttle lot! Not even 2 minutes after the shuttle dropped me off, Mr. Tee, swooped through like a night in shining armor to get me!! Then Omar, got me all squared away & gave me an upgrade to a 2022!! My family & I will have adequate space & ride in style!! Thank you U-Save for make this experience better than I expected!! God bless!!
I went with U-save for 5 day minivan rental. They seemed to have the cheapest rental of all the car rental companies out there. This is a remote car rental place. So please allocate 45 mins to an hour to be able to pick up the car once you are at the airport. I had to take the green line bus to a drop off location. When I got to the drop off location there was no shuttle waiting to pick me up and take me to the rental place. I had to call the rental and then they sent a shuttle to pick me up. When I got there they told me that I had to take a mandatory basic insurance for the car. Told them my credit card covers collision. They then said it doesnt cover liability and that I need to have liability as it is mandated by the state of California. Liability insurance alone would have cost me $50 per day. So $250 extra for 5 days. I wasnt willing to do this and as i was looking up my credit card customer service (about 5 mins after I told them this was unacceptable) they asked me if I have my own car insurance. I had progressive and they said that would cover the liability. So if you are renting from this place make sure of the following:1) Verify your credit card covers collision for rentals and your auto insurance covers liability2) Allocate 1 hour to just go to the rental place and pick up the car3) When returning the car make sure to get an uber/lyft/taxi back to the airport. You are not going to want to spend time waiting for their shuttle to take you to the airport terminal.4) My rental was supposed to be $500. Actual bill after taxes and toll charges came upto be $676. Toll was $65. So be prepared for all the misc charges to come up in the final bill.Ill try to avoid renting from here next time. Its worth it to go with a smaller car from a reputable company than have to deal with U-save.
You must understand this right now: NEVER rent a car from this “rental company”. They are legitimate thieves, and will find any way to screw you over and take your money. This is BY FAR the very WORST rental experience I have ever had in my entire life.They will not rent you the car you want, more specifically, they won’t rent you a car at all, forcing you to have to create a plan B and spend much, much more money than expected at a different rental agency. On top of this, they charged me $120 in NON-REFUNDABLE “late fees” because my flight to LAX was delayed an hour. An hour.In addition to the non-refundable late fees I was unable to refund the down deposit on the vehicle.No sympathy was offered to the fact that I had arrived 30 minutes after their closing due to the delayed flight.This “company” will bring you to the point of writing them a one star review just to expose the fact that these crackpot degenerates really think they can get away with selective scamming.
Rental was supposed to be $630 - refused to give me the car for less than $1000. Awful bait and switch practices. I read the instructions for the two shuttleProcess to get there and it was still a nightmare as no second shuttle ever came - after an hour I hopped on a another rental shuttle who was kind enough to let me on. We walked away and found a car elsewhere. Would give no stars if I could -Place is an actual scam and needs to be shut down. Have reported to the bbb and attorney general for investigation.
My husband placed a reservation in April for a 7 passenger car rental. When We arrived at LAX (LOS ANGELES,CA) rental the location he was charged (including deposit). They tried to give him a small SUV that was a 5 passenger car. The worker kept telling him this is the car he had reserved, WHICH WAS NOT TRUE! We refused to take that vehicle with us since it would not fit our family. The front desk representative then told us the vehicle we had reservations for was not in their possession and they could not accommodate us for a 7 passenger car. The manager finally decides to come out after and all he had to say is sorry we dont have that vehicle here. We decided to go elsewhere. However we still have not received our money or deposit back. Left messages no call, back finally spoke to a very unprofessional front desk associate who claims we took the car that day according to computer records. He said he could not help me and would be transferring my inquiry to the billing department. This was yesterday. Up until now I have not heard back from anyone. This place is very unprofessional and never answer the phones or return calls back. My whole entire day was spent on looking for another rental place. Luckily I found BUDGET rental car by LAX. Much more professional and much more car inventory. I am out $1,000+ as of today and waiting for this issue to be taken care of.
Avoid at all costs.First of all, the location is hard to find. You have to take a shuttle to another location so that you can wait for another shuttle. This easily took an hour.Once finally at the office, it over an hour to finally get through the line and to a rep. Once there, they hit you with one unexpected fee after another. Plus, opting out of the insurance is next to impossible with these guys.The name is U-save, but Im not sure what they saved me. It definitely wasnt time, hassle or money. So take it from me, U-save yourself the headache and avoid.
Customer service incrediablyly bad, I had a reservation for 3:30. Waited in line till about 4. I ended up getting out of there at 4:45.. Until after literally yelling hello hello hello for a few minutes one of the guys came to help me. Now be careful because youre online price you will not be paying. I was supposed to be paying $40 unlimited mileage with my local address on the reservation. When I got there I was told that I needed a $500 deposit and thirty-five cents. Because I was a local renter. When I dropped off the car they couldnt find my contract so I had to wait there again for them to look for it.
FRAUD ALERT....Very terrible service. Would recommend avoiding at all costs. They ask for a complete insurance binder as if they are renting a Rolls Royce to you. In my experience of renting a dozen cars and moving trucks, no one had asked for my insurance binder. People don’t just carry insurance binder papers in their wallets. I argued about it and the fat guy Lester started being rude and told me I could leave. They refused to give me a car and when I asked to speak to a manager, they lied and sent some lady who was not a manager. They said they would not charge me anything, but shady as they are, a month later I get charged double the reservation total even though I never rented a car from them. I am currently disputing charges. These people are unnecessary headache and fraudulent. Again, AVOID at all costs. Go with reliable and well known rental companies that know what service means and actually run the place with proper service standards.
These people are scammers. I reserved a car weeks ago. Flight was delayed. Got there a little later and they said the car was gone. Clearly, there was a peak period at the airport cos cars were gone everywhere and they rented my car to someone else to take advantage of peak prices. Very awful. Never experienced anything like that. Ended up renting a car after searching for a while for four time what I would have paid had I never encountered these thieves. A major loss!!! I will NEVER go near them again. Horrible horrible.
If I could give a ZERO star rating, I would do it! What a scam. So many hidden charges. The pick-up timing took nearly two hours. Then, when we finally arrived at their office, they offered us a tollroad package for $12.50 per day, regardless if we used the tollroads at all on any given day. Normally, if you drive the tollroads you can simply pay the toll on line for the actual charge. But U-Save said if we got on one toll road without the pre-paid package, we would get a $55 per incident violation -- thats because they have pre-registered their cars on the tollroads to prohibit paying direct. Next, their office is only open until 6 pm. Who does that at LAX?! Its an international airport! When we brought the car to the garage for drop off, we were informed that we had to pay an additional $27.50 for overnight parking and transport to LAX!!!! That isnt even in their contract! To make matters worse, we tried several times to contact them when confused about both the pick-up and drop-off instructions by phone. All systems said sorry were not available -- even when we tried the we need help because weve been in an accident option. Nobody home at all. If you want easy in and out of a car rental, go anywhere else. Big lesson learned on this experience!
Not Worth the aggravation. They try to push you into adding every bit of coverage you can possibly have. They charged me a late fee when I returned my car 20 minutes early. It’s now three weeks after my trip and I’m still trying to get the late fee returned to me. I have called numerous times to have this straightened out and when I call they just hang up the phone on me. The staff members are very disrespectful and rude!
I can’t say I am completely unhappy with this place. The car we rented was extremely nice, drove really smooth and literally saved us a lot in gas money. The staff (shuttle drivers and the gentleman who was at the return rental location) were very very nice.However upon walking in to retrieve my rental Hanny was extremely rude, unpleasant, impolite, the list goes on. He would talk to me like I was an infant who had no idea what was going on in the world around me.When I reserved the car my rental fee was $294 and some change and Hanny managed to get it up to $499 plus the $250 deposit. I was not going to pay all that money especially after being greeted by someone so ill mannered like Hanny, Hanny almost made me feel this horrible vibe of the entire place, I thought to myself “great, what did I get myself into, I can guarantee there will be additional fees just for the fun of it” I decided to leave and go rent a car from enterprise which was ultimately going to be the same amount for the duration of 5 days. After I walked out he came to me and said they would be willing to leave me the car for the amount I had originally agreed to. Since I had my 3 kids and husband I decided well I guess, we’re already here and we had been on our flight since 5:20 am so I decided to stay. The manager Cesar had made the decision to allow me to have the car at my original price, and I was extremely grateful.Will I rent from them again? NOPE! I know next time to rent a car from somewhere else that is mot close to the airport. Every single person we encountered in LA was so hospitable except for Hanny, and I will never forget the experience I had here.My honest advice, take a Lyft or Uber a few miles further away from the airport to rent your car, you won’t regret it. And if you decide to rent from here, good luck with Hanny, the cars are nice but that man is something else.

Received the car for my hiking trip with a friend. Had to travel from the airport to a parking lot to get picked up by a van to get brought over to the rental car location which took an hour between waiting and transportation. Got to the rental car place where I had to wait another 45 minutes to get my car and get everything ready to go. Finally get the car which was a decent car. Nothing was gone over with the rental car employees. Brought the car back and had additional fines on my receipt. Attempted to call usave multiple different times with no responses. Finally got in touch with an employee TWO months after the initial rental. The employee on the phone, Miriam, was extremely rude, would interrupt as I was trying to explain and would not allow me to talk to the supervisor. I’m extremely disappointed with this experience and would not advise people to rent from this company. They may have cheap rates on the website, but they will add up with all the fees at the end.
I had a pleasant experience at first then we missed our flight but because we had already dropped our rent off they said we could not get it back.That cost us 650+ So the manager Tee was helpful and we got a car to use we were charged 700+ for 2 extra days and then I get a charge for $175 because there was too much sand in the car I asked if we could get a refund for that because if I knew I would have vacuumed it my self. I them kept getting charged and when I would call customer service it was damn near impossible to speak to anyone and got hung up on several times. I will never rent from this company again so many hidden fees. They are a joke!
Had a great one day car rental here. Nice car, friendly staff, and very affordable. The highlight was Ricardo the shuttle driver. I just made it back in time for the last shuttle and he was nice enough to wait for me while I completed my inspection. He was so sweet and put my panicking mind at ease!
My husband and I had a horrible experience using this company. It was very confusing and clustered and no one seemed to have any idea what was going on. When we arrived at the location after taking a shuttle there was one guy there who had walked all the way from the airport to the company because no one would answer the phone and the shuttle never came for him. It took us almost two hours to checkout with the car because the guy helping us kept randomly walking away from the counter. There was a long line of people behind us and only one person at the counter. The car they gave us was almost on empty so we had to immediately fill up, which isn’t a huge deal, just a hassle. When we returned the car there was no organization. The guy checked out vehicle and told us they were going to charge us an extra 175$ because the car needed to be “deep cleaned.” There was literally grass on the floor, that’s it. I told him I refused to pay it, and the man raised his voice at me and threw his hands around claiming the car was trashed. I asked if we could take it to vacuum it outselves (because it would literally take 5 minutes) and was told no. I asked to speak with his manager, and was told he wasn’t on-site and wouldn’t be back for another 10 minutes. Manager arrived, the guy pointed to him, said that’s him, and when I went to approach the manager he hopped in a car and left the lot again. We waited outside for over 30 minutes for the shuttle to pick us up to take us to the airport and I never had my issue resolved. No clue if or when they decide to charge my card 175$ for a 5 minute vacuum job.
I almost missed a funeral because of these guys. Booked the car weeks ago. Get there and there are no cars. Five other people in line all waiting around for their cars when they have no cars to give out. One elderly guy working at the desk going as slowly as humanly possible. They offered to drive you to another rental company to try reserving a car within an hour of pickup but good luck with that. Ended up having to use Uber all weekend.
I rented a car from here to go 7 miles to the place I was staying. I literally didn’t need to utilize it with the exception of transporting me from the airport. When I got ready to depart 2 days later the car wouldn’t start. I called the customer service representative who told me it was “impossible” that the car would not start because it was a 2021. I had to go back and forth while telling him that I was going to miss my flight. He told me to call a towing company under my own insurance. He then simply gave me the random number to Nissan to have them deal with it. I am grieving and came to town for a funeral. I will NEVER deal with this company again. I had to have the car towed back to them at my own expense.
Worst experience. If I could give them zero stars I would. Was told the place closed at 6pm. I arrived at 5:30 to turn in the vehicle and the assistant manager refused to allow the shuttle driver to take my party and I to the airport. We had tons of luggage with us and he still refused. 5 minutes later another customer showed up and was told the same thing. He had a small child with him and in the end we ended up having to take an Uber to the airport which cost us an additional $60. The assistant manager was very rude. The shuttle driver was helpful and willing to take us but the assistant manager refused to let him go. So unprofessional and unheard of. Stay away from this ghetto place.
“Joshua” the supervisor was not help at all. We made a reservation to pick up the car this morning and when I made the reservation I did it under my husbands name and of course it was not matching the credit card. However mr Joshua said that they were not more cars available for today and it was gonna have to be for another car rental place because they were out of cars. I step out and made another reservation and sure they were cars available. When I went back on the shop again he said that it was gonna take up to two hours for my new reservation to show. I had the feeling that he was not wanted to help me because when I spoke with him he looked even careless and ignoring my questions. I had rent cars from this location before and this is the first time that someone looks like they care less about their costumers. I ended up going to thrifty car rental instead.

Ive RentedCars throughout the United States with different rental companies throughout the united states. I did have an issue today because i did not do my due diligence with the inspection of the vehicle prior to getting in. Luckily i did point out the scratch to the agent before i got in and although he didnt write it down he remembered me showing it to him when i picked it up. So i did not get charged and Again had a great experience with Mr. Steve M. Thanks for having a great memory and your excellent service. Needless to say, i will be only using u save or green motion next time i need a car. Thanks again guys and keep up the awesome work. .
First impression of LA after leaving the airport was this place. The people running things inside were rude and slow. Their credit/debit card terminal was declining everyones out of state/city cards. It happened to us and three other parties. The two older employees would get an attitude about each person trying to fix it with the bank. We all had money. It was just their shady terminal.Im giving this place three stars because the car was very nice and affordable. Im also giving stars to the outside people like the shuttle drivers and the guys receiving the car when we turned it back in. They were super friendly and helpful.
We had an awesome experience with the agent Tyler, he was super respectful and helpful with all of our questions. He made the process super quick and efficient which is nice because not all car rentals help you through the process fast, but Tyler made sure. I will definitely come back and rent specifically because of the attitude and attention to customer service he provided. A++
I wish I could give a negative star point. They literally have hidden fees for everything and like everyone says on this review page, they force you to buy their protection coverage. So you would need to expect $100-200 more than what your total was when you reserved your car online. Also, they charged $300 security deposit which they never told us about. So before our return, we called them to ask if this was a security deposit and they were saying “it’s authorization” and we didn’t know what that meant so we kept asking what that meant and if we are getting this money back. Idk why but they got very upset all of a sudden and just kept repeating the same thing and yelling something we could’d understand. So we asked them to speak slowly and they just hung up.So in conclusion, lots of hidden fees + unknown security deposit + terrible customer service + dirty and smelly car
This is the first time that I come across a rental car company does not operate 24x7. Even when this is their operating model, they didn’t inform me during car pickup and the rental agreement said returning by 9:30pm when they closed at 6pm (as I was told the next day). On the day of pick up, they offered insurance, toll pass, road side assistance but did not mention the hours at all. When I was ready to return the car, I saw nothing about after hour procedure. No key drop off box or instructions to direct you to a different location. As a result I missed the flight as I could not return the rental car. I even sought help from a police and another rental car company who suggested the possible key drop off box. Their phone # could not reach anyone or have any message to deal with this problem. When I returned the car the next morning, they blamed me for checking the web site for office hours and said that they had a drop off location that was not mentioned anywhere in the paperwork. Currently my credit card account has a pending charge more than doubling the original rental agreement that I yet have to sort out. I could have asked for all the costs as a result of missing the flight - hotel and flight rebooking. I will not use this company again.
Rented a car here for a few days for our honeymoon. First the man at the counter was rude to me and my wife. Skip forward the car was decent did the job, the price was significantly higher then the online total no problem.Now the bs .We arrived at 520pm was told last shuttle was at 530 and to hurry waited for the representative to check the car. Soon as we walked over at 530 shuttle is done , they saw us here knew we were here and needed the shuttle “Manager” Tyler said its policy and we are to late.That is the worst customer service ever they said they only do pick up now. So you can’t bring two passengers to a place you already going. Even when they were here on time. Stay away. Worst car service in LAWriting this as I’m standing err outside waiting for a cab . Pathetic
Do not rent from U-Save. If you have to return the car outside of office hours they charge you a “parking/shuttle” fee of almost $30. I went to return my car at 4:30am and the code they provided me with to get into the garage was invalid. I called customer service and they hung up on me when I tried the code again and it didn’t work. I spent 40 minutes trying to return the car and ended up having to lift up the barrier to get into the garage. The U-Save shuttle never showed up and I had to pay $20 for an Uber to get to the airport and barely made my flight. When I called customer service again to dispute the shuttle fee, they told me I was “entitled to my opinions” and did not refund me anything. Their services are terrible. Go with Hertz.UPDATE: U-Save called me a week later to argue about my negative review - instead of trying to make it right, they asked “why would you leave a review like that when that’s not what happened?” - I don’t know what kind of customer service would try to gaslight its customers like that. Unbelievable.
Getting there from LAX is a pain and once we got there, we waited for 45 mins before we could get to the counter.Once we were there, they charged extra for insurance even though I had purchased it from Expedia and had my own insurance.The staff was very helpful and friendly, but I did feel a little beaten down by the long wait in line. By the time I got to the front, I just wanted to get out of there.The car was great! We did have to drop it early in the morning, which cost us extra as well.It was not nearly as inexpensive as the price listed in Expedia once all was said and done. Were I to do it again, Id likely go somewhere else.
By far the worst car rental scheme you can rent from. Coming from out of state for a quick trip I just picked a company. Waited almost an hour to finally find out I needed to take a bus to a parking lot to then get picked up to go to the store. Waited almost another 40 min to be seen. All of the staff seem like rejected used car salesmen. When I returned the car they stated there was damage or a small nick in the windshield and I had to pay $500 my deductible right then and there. The previous car they charged from smoke damage. The staff are outside marking anything and making up little nicks. DO NOT trust them. If you do not use their coverage they will try to charge you. Filing a claim and reporting to BB. Be ware. They even tried to force me to rate them while at the check in line. Use any other company but this one! I wish I could give them a negative 10

2022-05-13!!!WARNING!!! DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS PLACE!!! 0 star rating! My husband and I were renting 2 cars (which were reserved). The very rude guy that was attending to us attempted to make us buy their insurance, but, I told them that we have our own insurance. After showing him my insurance card (which clearly stated full coverage), he asks to see my deductible information because my insurance was only for liability). After pointing out to him the full coverage information, he asked for a payment. We are from Louisiana (where now i see that southern hospitality is very real), i do admit that i forgot to grab our credit cards and had no way of obtaining the credit cards. I asked if we could use a debit card. He said that they only accept credit cards (so they can charge whatever they want to it). Okay, thats fine; i asked him if i could give him the credit card number and information. He told me no, it has to be a physical card. Baffled about this information, I asked if we could use my moms credit card, he said no. Then, he retracted what he said about not being able to use a debit card. He stated that I could only use a debit card if I purchased the Insurance from them. I, confused again, clarified that they do accept debit cards. He told me yes but only of we are purchasing the insurance from them (which was $200 more) because they have to make sure their cars are covered. Huh??? I proceeded to tell him that the car would be covered under my FULL COVERAGE insurance. He said that is the only way that we can pay with debit. I asked to speak with a manager. The guy went to the managers office (street about 5-10 minutes of us waiting) and told him that I needed to talk to him and told him why. As the attending staff came out of the office, he said yea because people cant read! EXCUSE ME!? My masters degree states otherwise! Anyway, the manager refused to come out of his office to speak with us. Which is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL at the least. We did not rent anything from this place which was a huge waste of time. DO NOT GO HERE TO RENT ANYTHING! VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!

2022-01-180 stars should be an option for companies like this.To start off the “cheap” price you are getting on Priceline or Expedia is not what you will be paying.They do not except any form of debit cards. Your only option is a credit card. Be prepared to pay $350-$500 security which is EXTREMELY high compared to every other car rental facility.You are required to take 2 shuttles to get to the location. Be prepared to wait over an hour for that shuttle, which they say is not ran by them. If that was the case they should have a shuttle bus ran by them pick up customers at the airport like every other rental car company.I have never been spoken to by an employee and manager at a company in my life. Do not come if you want a friendly and easy rental car service.We were over charged. Double charged and said we were receiving a refund and never did. And you can not get anyone on the phone.Trust me and avoid USAVE at all costs

2022-06-16No customer service phone line to answer questions about information needed numerous calls no answer I dare you to call no seating at this location over 1hr wait in line to reach front desk this location wants utility bills to rent to you won’t know if you rent through Uber that you are being sent to this third party low rate location be aware very slow employees no consideration for customers time children standing in heat outside very little room in waiting area. Asked for refund location has not rented me a vehicle and charged my card made no accommodations or gave any alternatives will refer you to a British company if you have refund issue Avoid this location. One employee threatened me with violence in front of another on camera because I questioned policy police came and basically laughed at how crooked U saves operations are. Avoid this location. Make sure you don’t get sent there through app third party.

2022-04-12Ramsay was incredibly good and helpful and kind. I really cannot overstate how accommodating and professional this office was. Small wait but felt seen as a customer and will definitely come back.

2022-08-04Consumer warning: please avoid at all costs. Yes you will find a cheap online price, only to be told that the insurance will cost you the same amount or more than the final price you secured online - which the costs you double what you thought. They still owe me my deposit of USD$400 which they said would be returned within 5 business days of the day we returned the car. It’s been 6 weeks and after several calls and emails no one has responded once to any of my emails. I don’t even know how company’s like this one are still able to legally operate. The only shout out is to the shuttle driver who is a sweetheart. I have now engaged the consumer protection agency to help me get my deposit back. Please think twice before using them.My response to the profile that has responded to my review: I can confirm from my bank that my security deposit was NOT returned. Please check your records and feel free to contact me to discuss further.

2022-04-30If I can do 0 I would!!! We were waiting on the manager for his help and all he did was pay attention to this UK lady paid no attention to his employee needing assistance! Very disturbing and disrespectful! DO NOT COME HERE!!! Btw they dont accept hopper Ins they MAKE you get their ins on top of hopper ins. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! WORST OF ALL SHE USED DEBIT AND THEY LET HER! UPDATE! The person said WE HAD TO GET COVERAGE. This place is a joke ha! People save your money and time

2022-05-05I cannot say enough good things about this place—especially how the staff was so attentive to detail and cared that I was safe and comfortable in my rental! The price was reasonable. They made our LA experience even more amazing!! Thank you!!UPDATE: they emailed my receipt of what I should be charged versus my deposit…they charged the whole amount and no one has answered any of my calls. Changing my review because although they were great taking care of me the day of, they’ve dropped the ball

2022-08-06I finished rental reservation # LAX-103531. I rented a car for 1 day with a low price deal. Upon arrival, I need to take two shuttles to arrive at their rental office and have a long wait to be served. After paperwork is finished, I waited an extra 20 minutes for the car to be ready. After I returned the car on time within 24 hours, they said everything will be fine but hours later I receive the bill with insurance charged for TWO days rather than ONE day. I called them and they said as per system records my rental return time exceeded 24 hours of rental so I have to be charged two days of rental insurance - which is not the case because my actual return time was almost 1 hour earlier than the return time they put into the system. It seems like the offices practice to write a return time half an hour to an hour later so that they can charge you for one more day!

2022-04-16Worst experience I’ve ever had in customer service! I am not a “Karen” and have never made a complaint type of review for any company before but I feel people deserve to be warned. I rented a car and put my fiancés name as the driver on the car because I was in the process of getting a new license and didn’t want any issues with having a paper license. On the reservation I put my credit card with him as the driver. Where my mistake was made is that I missed the disclaimer that stated the driver and card have to match names. So when I arrived to pick up my car the guy told me that policy and I asked if I could change the reservation to my name as the driver instead and they refused. He said my only option was to find a other rental agency or book a new reservation. So my price went from $150 to $650. The manager didn’t care about me as a customer at all and I called customer service to talk to the franchise owner but he never gave me a call back. Such a terrible experience and I’ll make sure no one I know ever goes through your company. You lost good business.

2022-03-06The staff was good enough, but their process needs improvement. You take 2 shuttles from LAX to their office then stand in line all to fill out paper forms. It took 1 hour and 50 minutes from landing to be in my rental with no delays. I used Budget at LAX 2 weeks prior and was in my car within 45 minutes of landing.They could send out a link to do the forms in advance online as I had to wait for everyone in line to fill them out with the agent. This is so simple to setup and could be done with a Google questionnaire by someone and need no programmer to set up.The extra hour they wasted caused me to pick up the car at rush hour and cost me an extra hour driving to Palm Springs.I will never knowingly use them again.On a positive note my full size car was a Dodge Charger and was a fun ride.Also they gave me a car that had 35 miles to empty so I had to immediately stop to fill up.
