Very bad management. Okey rooms. Lies in the listing. THERE IS NO FOOD IN THE MORNING. There are mattresses next to the pool. Bad customer service. The rooms are pretty nice and roomie. There is no service in the morning and at night so you canβt get a room early or late.
The check in was nothing shy of a nightmare... they couldnt run my card for some reason so they switched our reservations to a double queen room and the woman was rude and dismissive and slightly insulting. The pool area looked to be well taken care of and they have self serve laundry machines available. Ice machine, soda/snack machine and dog friendly. Then there is the room... designed to be a esthetically pleasing with cute modern touches. Although after only 15 minutes you can tell that it was just a paint job and smoke and mirrors to disaster.. there were stains all over the carpet, the bathroom wasnt fully cleaned by any means (especially during a pandemic finding private parts hair in the bathroom right away is just unexcusably disgusting) the ceilings had water damage and right outside of our room the entire ground floor was rotting through (it looked as though my boyfriend was stepping on a memory foam mattress on the second floor deck outside of our room 118) MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD. Right alongside of a busy main highway road with constant noise and police patrol. Im giving this stay 2 stars instead of 1 because my dogs were safe and welcome on our quick trip to the snow down the road.
Seemed clean. No bugs. Friendly staff. Covid safe. No bad smell. Small stain on sheets. A child had written on the wall with ballpoint pen. Cracks and poorly finished wall for shower curtain. Missing molding. Chipped furniture. Gas station toilet paper holder in bathroom. Room heater extremely loud and made strange rasping noises, but worked fine. Booked a $99 room (2 queens) from their site, but got redirected to reservations.com and after taxes and fees was $147. But it was nice to have a bed.
Terrible hotel! A soda got spilled on the bed by accident and they charged me $112 for damages. Something that would definitely wash out. Requested a phone call from the manager but never received a call. The man I spoke with about the charges said Im lucky because they should have charged over $300. Definitely rude, poor customer service and DO NOT RECOMMEND!
My family and I stayed on July 3, 2021, we had originally booked two nights July 3 - July 4 but we decided to cancel July 4 so we only stayed July 3. The original price for July 3 was $189 while for July 4 it was $225. So we should have only payed $189 plus tax and a pet fee since we didnβt stay on the 4th. Well these people decided to charge us $225 anyway leading to a total of $280. When we decided to call them saying there was a mistake they hung up on us. They hung up 3 times and the other times they would not pick up the phone. Do not go here unless you want to get robbed and get treated like an idiot.
We just stayed here for the Frog Jumps. I was worried because I made last minute reservations and didnt have much choice. This place was very very nice. The staff were very pleasant and honestly wanted us to have a nice stay. The room was very spacious. I always have an issue with the sheets and towels...BUT NOT HERE. The sheets were so soft and the bed very comfortable. The bath towels, luxurious! I love a soft white fluffy towel and these were. They had a beautiful pool and wish we had had time to enjoy it. There was a Continental breakfast which was nice...from make your own waffles, cereal, fruit, toast, coffee and jiixe. The only thing missing was a sweet roll or donuts or bagels.... That would have been my choice. But that most definitely would not keep me from staying again. When we walked in that morning we were greeted by the manager (owner?) And asked how our room was. It was very nice. Thanks for making our trip complete!
I hate to say this but the owner is a real piece of work and not a nice manβ¦.he yelled when I asked him how soon we could swim β¦.he said to read the internetβ¦.geez Iβm from Chicago when would I have time to check the internetβ¦ also if you are slightly handicappedβ¦.forget it β¦carpet on the bridge is horrible, no ADA ramps, stop bars for vehicles have rebar sticking out of them and I do believe they should be 10β in lengthβ¦.not 4ββ¦β¦no food β¦β¦way overpricedβ¦β¦I will never stay againβ¦β¦
Needed a last minute room for work . My job booked a room and contacted them and let them know that I would be coming in a little late in the night and they said thats fine someone is at the desk 24/7. I get there and no one is there . Had to book a hotel 40 minutes away because the lazy employee decided to abandon his post.
We have family living in town, so weve been here many times and always love returning. I think its been a couple of years since weve been here and the rooms appear to have been updated recently (still has the new smell.) The rooms are very nice, and my husband and I especially loved the nice firm beds and had a great sleep. The staff is very nice and helpful. We will definitely continue to come backπ
As other people have already noted, the front desk completely shuts down before their posted time! I was assured that the desk would be open until 11PM and so I arrived at 10:15 PM thinking it would be alright. When I arrived, there was already another family waiting outside saying theyve also arrived to a closed front desk and have been waiting for 30 minutes. I had to go down to the best western down the street. The next morning, I contacted them and they said theyre only open until 9PM!
My friend and I were pleasantly surprised at the quality and condition of the rooms we had. They were beautiful and very clean. When you walk in the rooms, they smell very fresh and not stale like in some other hotels we have stayed in. There were ample outlets for laptops and plenty of electrical outlets so you didnt have to search for one to plug in other electrical devices. Everything in the room worked, i.e. nice sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee service, hair dryer, iron and lights. TV had more free channels than Ive ever seen elsewhere. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the Angel Camp / Murphy area.
Stayed over a Saturday night here when in town for the weekend. Short notice booking, so we didnt have many other options, but things seemed good. Arrival and check-in were easy. Rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, in fact, they exceeded our expectations for a Travelodge. They also had a pool which looked well kept up, though we didnt get to use it. Sound isolation wasnt the best between rooms, and we could hear people walking around above us, very loud running water when nearby rooms were showering, and in the morning it seemed like they were moving furniture upstairs. Nothing too bad, but it would have been frustrating if we were trying to sleep in. The one huge bummer was the breakfast which was supposed to be included. Were were told at check in that breakfast was from 7-11am. We arrived at 9 and there was a bit of dry cereal and slightly old looking apples. There was a toaster and waffle irons but no bread or batter was apparent, and neither was milk for the cereal. When I asked if there was any milk or anything else for breakfast all I got was a curt no. It was a disappointing cap on an otherwise pleasant stay.
The Wi-Fi works well, and the rooms appear to have been recently remodeled. Thatβs the only reason to give the Travelodge by Wyndham Angels Camp any stars at all.We walked in to find the woman at the front desk behind plastic barriers and wearing a mask. So far, so good. As we finish our check in and get the paperwork, she takes off her mask (behind the plastic but still a bad move on her part) and tells us that the office closes at 8:00 PM and no one will be available after that time. These two things should have been a warning. Taking off the mask disturbed us enough that we sprayed Lysol on every surface of the room as a precaution. At 8:15 PM the toilet clogged. Tried to call the front desk but as expected the phone rang constantly. No message telling us who to contact if there was a problem we couldnβt solve, nothing. Just constant ringing. I jumped in the car and tried to find a place that sold toilet plungers but no luck. The Ace Hardware store closed at 8, and places that were open that might have stocked toilet plungers were either closed or had empty shelves. After an uncomfortable night I called the front desk to ask them to send a toilet plunger to our room. A man with a foul attitude handed it to me without a word. No mask to be seen. Another spray of Lysol on the plunger to try to protect myself. Finally got the repair done and after a night of βholding itβ we could use the facilities. We tossed everything in the car and noticed housekeeping knocking on doors and opening them. Again, no mask. The Travelodge by Wyndham Angels Camp management needs to up their game to allow customers to contact them in case of room issues. That would have gotten them 3 stars if not for the issue with maskless employees. The Travelodge by Wyndham Angels Camp does not use or enforce procedures to safeguard guestsβ health during the pandemic. Employees interacting with guests and going into rooms maskless makes me wonder what other shortcuts theyβre taking and basic procedures that theyβre ignoring.Hopefully spraying Lysol on all surfaces was sufficient, but weβll be monitoring our health closely for the next couple of weeks.
Nice rooms for a motel- clean and comfortable, non-smoking, and friendly staff. The crowd here seemed a bit seedy, someone went through my stuff left on my motorcycle, but didnt seem to take anything. I just know because the bungies were undone and a pannier door was opened. Clearly some tools and stuff fell out when the door was opened, which I can only assume made a loud noise and spooked the would be thief away luckily.
Positive: This hotel is the worst hotel ever no one was there I sat there for three hours walking around the building no security no front desk no maids or anyone but if few guest. There was a makeshift sign on the window saying that no one will be there from 10 P Negative: This hotel is the worst hotel ever no one was there I sat there for three hours walking around the building no security no front desk no maids or anyone but if few guest.a makeshift sign on the window saying that no one will be there from10p to 9am
We had a delightful stay Jun 20-21 this year at the Travelodge due largely in part to the superb service rendered by Tina and her night time counterpart. Tina, upon realizing we were not happy with our room was immediately sympathetic and moved us to another without any fuss. All during our stay she continued to be helpful and caring. We never felt we were being tolerated but were always welcomed with warmth, cheerfulness and excellent service. The gentleman at night was also cooperative and helpful. Sorry I do not recall his name. He was extremely busy servicing late arrivals while folding mountains of freshly laundered sheets and pillowcases yet he found time to provide us with coffee, sugar and cream. He even left his post to point out to me the short cut to my room. Our room was neat and clean. The bed extremely comfortable and the lighting excellent. One could actually read in bed which is uncommon in most motels. And wonder of wonders the sink was outside the bathroom enabling one resident to do make up, brush ones teeth while the other used the toilet facilities or the shower or the tub. Thats my favorite hotel configuration although many places jam all those facilities into one bathroom making it impossible for two people to use them at the same time. All in all our stay was memorable. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.Martin Perlmutter
They advertised as pet-friendly when I got there they started no pets, I informed them of my service animal which I had all documents for proof and they declined to look or copy them but still checked us in and said there would be no charge for my service animal. After we checked out I was charges a pet fee and the hotel said the maid started my dog tried to bit her when she came in the room, crazy thing is that we had a do not disturb sign on our door both days and one day the maid came in while the sign was on the door and we were in their, and yea I have 3 witnesses to verify all of that. So dont go here because they like to over chart lie and come into your room when you have a do not disturb sign on your door probably when your not there.
Despite being the new Travelodge for the company, the facility itself needs work. Beds were a bit hard, the AC/Heating unit was a tad noisy and would make a screech upon turning off. My shower ran out of hot water in the morning, probably because the water tank cant accommodate everyone at the hotel simultaneously. A few of my towels looked like they didnt get fully whitened in the wash. But it could have been worse.
Have stayed here a handful of times, but recently (2019) arrived at 11pm on a friday night only to find out the office isnt open past 10pm, what a joke. Ended up leaving after calling the front desk to try to verify that I have a room after paying online and not having anyone pickup. Ended up needing to book another room at Days Inn in Sutter Creek since my family needed a place to sleep for the night.... and guess what, they had staff available.
Check in and out was smooth. Rooms were well-maintained with clean sheets, towels and bath. We were four of us visiting Angels camp. Three of us didnt get hot (enough) water for the bath only the early bird among us got it. Breakfast is 7-9am which is a little tight in winter. Breakfast room has waffles, boiled eggs, bread, cereals, coffee and juices vending machine.
Well I work here and it is our top priority to provide a clean and comfortable home away from home. Theres plenty of parking and a pool to cool off in when its 100 plus degrees outside. Our rooms are spacious, comfortable and most important, CLEAN. Look forward to seeing you there on your next visit to Angels Camp, California.
Nice hotel for the price but poor staffing and customer service...asked for a quiet room and were put under stairs with neighbors on both sides. Breakfast was cut short and the weird man in red pants was extremely rude. Later employees were yelling outside our window. Has potential, but terrible staff.
Had a really good stay here. Pretty typical room size and Yosemite-area price, but very comfortable sheets and very friendly, helpful man working the desk on the night of 7/14/2018 at about 10 pm. This employee did a great job of being friendly and helpful to a crowded lobby full of very tired people.
Clean room, excellent bed/mattress, good wifi. I had a good nights sleep. It was quiet. I normally use ear plugs in hotels, but this time it seemed so quiet, I didnt put them in. It was no problem. Slept well. Recomend this hotel, it is economical, but everything you need for a good rest.
I usually do not write negative reviews but I had a very upsetting experience at this location. I booked the hotel 2 days in advance because of its proximity to Yosemite National Park where I would be going to two days back to back. After an amazing but tiring first day at the park I drove back 2 hours to the Travelodge by Wyndham Γngels Camp and got there shortly after 11pm only to find the hotel lobby was closed and there was no one there to check me in. Unable to check in, I called expedia to see if they could help me and after a long wait I was told that the hotel lobby closes at 11pm sharp and as a result I had lost my reservation. Due to the time, I was also unable to book another hotel for the night through expedia and I had to settle for sleeping in the car. Unable to fall asleep by 1 am I decided to google other hotels nearby and sure enough I found a room at the nearby Heritage Inn at Sonora for about half the price. After going back and reviewing my confirmation email for the Travelodge reservation I was able to find in the fine print that the front desk is open daily from 7 am - 11pm so I guess it was my fault for not reading all the fine print and assuming I could get to a hotel at 11:15pm and be able to check in like I always had before. I have been an Expedia customer for many years now, yet they did nothing to try to refund me the $128 I paid for the room and did nothing to try to accommodate me somewhere else for the night. Very disappointing experience.
The problem with this motel is not the motel it self but rather the rude guests and the management teams inability to deal with them. On my stay a group of bass fishermen were staying in the rooms surrounding mine and blocked all the parking near the rooms with boats, trucks and traffic cones. That last one really got to me, every vacant space near my room was blocked by traffic cones. I informed the motel staff that a parking space is part of what I paid for in renting a room for the night but they did nothing.
DONT STAY AT THIS HOTEL - TRAVELODGE IN ANGELS CAMP, THEY STEAL YOUR STUFF!!! WE STAYED THERE MONDAY, JULY 30 AND WHILE WE WERE OUT DURING THE DAY AND WHEN WE RETURNED OUR STUFF WAS STOLEN!!! 2022-03-04Nice and clean room. When I got in the room saw that the smoke detector had been taken down and I later found it in a drawer. Also, later found frozen hot pockets and frozen burritos in the freezer part of the fridge. Customer service was nice though.

2022-01-11Mixed bag: good size room, nice firm mattress, clean, smelled fine. Desk chair was oddly shaped and uncomfortable. Had to use a pillow to make it even usable.Biggest problem was that they shut down their office early and have no one to check in late arrivals. I usually dont check in before 11pm. They called me on the road at 8pm and said they were closing their office at 9pm. So I had to cut my business short and head straight there. Hopefully this is a temporary situation, but either way it should be disclosed in the Wyndham app so guests can plan accordingly.

2021-11-29Polite Owners, Clean Establishment, Great Value π²π―. KING bed, BIG room, new looking carpet and tile. Zzz bed and clean sheets. Bathroom fixtures shiny chrome, hot shower, comfortable toilet. Powerful AC, heater, and fan. Magic Chef refrigerator these are great and will get really cold/freeze. Freezer froze four water bottles overnight for my cooler. A gallon of milk and Capri sun box stayed COLD in MC. Direct TV. Perfect layout there was plenty of room. Room was so clean it looked new. The most important thing for me at a hotel is a clean room. Hallways and parking is all lit up at night. Light didnt penetrate curtains. There are also working cameras in the hallways and parking lots. I felt safe in my room and my Corvette outside. Check out is nice its 11am. I paid with cash so theres a 100 deposit with cash. Got it back after I checked out. Open area not tight, easy parking. I would no doubt stay here again. πππππ 11-22-2021 room 302. TRUMP 2024

2021-09-10Positive: The rooms were recently updated, modern, clean, with good beds. Negative: Most of the staff seemed hostile. This is the only place we experienced this on our trip. Lobby was locked. Website said Swimming pool in season, which we expected would include August. It was green with algae. Not within walking distance of anything.

2021-02-15The hotel is well situated in Angels Camp; easy to see from the road and get to. Itβs also located close to food and grocery stores in Angels Camp, making it a convenient place to stay. The exterior of the hotel is clearly showing its age in many areas, but not so much as to be majorly off-putting.Unfortunately the front desk staff was not very friendly or welcoming. They were very abrupt with check-in, and were obviously annoyed when I asked if we could get a second key for the room. They also didnβt tell us where our room was located, so we had to find it on our own. Luckily the cleaning staff were making their rounds and were very helpful and showed us where the room was located. Upon unpacking in our room, we were pleased to see the room was moderately nice, and well cleaned. At one point during our stay I forgot my room key in the room, and again the cleaning staff were helpful and able to let me in. A+ for the cleaning staff! The room was very good for the price, with a fairly comfortable king size bed, a nice clean shower, and a good mini fridge for our snacks and drinks. The linens and towels were not surprisingly pretty thin and cheap, but were all clean and more than adequate for our stay.Unfortunately we had very loud neighbors who were yelling at each other late into the night. Not the hotelβs fault, but it definitely dampened the enjoyment our stay.Overall a great place to stay if passing through Angels Camp, and would have been 5 stars if not for the neighbors and unfriendly desk staff.

2021-06-17You cannot check in past 10pm because there will be no staff on duty to give you your keys. The room looked nice and the property is clean. The next morning I woke up, there was no power running to my room. None of the lights would turn on and my phone didnt have a full charge (so the power went out sometime during the night). The local power company (PG&E) was out-front doing some work. I went to the front office to let them know of the power outage, but the person working just told me that they were aware of the situation. This probably indicates they knew PG&E was scheduled to do some work at their hotel, yet they didnt inform any of the guests staying there that there may be a power issue. I then asked the front desk if there was a way I could get a refund or discount since I had to get dressed, etc, with a cracked-open front door to get some lighting. I was strictly told No refunds, and that was it. I checked out that day.
