Hidden jem! I love jacuzzi suites. what appears as a hole in the wall At first glance surprised me greatly once I went into my room. It actually had normal real length carpet. Nice color . not stained. Vibe was cozy. Room size was large. * #1 for real sized jacuzzi in room located to the side of bed. Huge Mirrors on all walls around it. Heart shaped. DEEP!!! UP OVER SHOULDERS! 😁😁😁. LOVED IT .ONLY CHARGED ME LIKE $140 . GREAT PRICE. NICE DESK CLERK. CANT WAIT 2 GO BACK
6/4/20Stayed here for one night. Got my nights rest here, but major issues with the room. First my towels were somewhat wet, not sure if it’s from the moisture in the room or they weren’t dry and hung up. The bathroom wouldn’t flush, and the water didn’t get hot enough. Overall, I’m thankful for a clean bed and no bed bugs, but some of the basic needs of staying in a hotel were not met. I wouldn’t stay here again.
Seriously outdated inside the room and overly priced. 140 on a Sunday for a one bed 😒 room. They have old box Tvs. Rooms stink of cigarettes even though we asked for a non smoking room. Outside looks nice but dont let that trick u into getting ripped off .
I called late in the day to find out about availability. I mentioned that I was looking for a place close to Riverside community Hospital. I had not slept in 24 hours and I wanted to be close to my father who was admitted to the hospital. I felt relaxed and welcome here. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful. I would recommend it to my friends and any family who wants to sleep soundly when loved ones are hospitalized.
More roaches then ive ever seen any where in my life, and they refused to give me back any more than $25 of $150 I paid. And that was on top of ripped bedding, sheets, stains everywhere and cover for the toilet! This place was aweful.
I wish I could give more stars. The service provided was wonderful. There was an issue with my booking, and the receptionist was very helpful in resolving the issue.I have stayed here many times. The rooms have always been clean. They are pretty stylish to. This is my preferred hotel to stay at when in Riverside.
The room was tiny for what we paid, I immediately noticed grime in all the corners of the bathroom, linen didnt seem fresh or clean, and there was a huge gross looking stain on the carpet, I pretty much paid them 115 to clean their room?? Wont be staying there again.
The price $175.00 total for a nightmare suite. Room smelled musty, ceiling in restroom had mold, the door to restroom did not close, toilet shattered from bottom, ants on sink and bathtub, phone, TV and fridge very outdate. The service horrible and I dealt my complaint with owner, he turned aggresive and mouthy on me.. you deserve better dont recommend at all.
Booked a room here 6/11/2020 while visiting, and discovered the room I was in #122 had bedbugs. Notified the staff and night clerk Ricardo immediately, he was very nice and apologetic. However nothing much he could do resolve the issue. Once I checked out and left I was told the manager Neil would be notified and happy to accommodate me for any inconvenience. Ricardo also said manager would take care of the issue concerning viewing the room and etc. Manager Neil never called or contacted me. I was giving the cold shoulder from receptionist/clerk Kimberly and brushed off like my experience and horriblenight dealing with bedbugs was not important nor a priority concerns to them. Very unprofessional and inconsiderate to me. Horrible experience, bad customer service, and no one cared nor tried to fix this situation. I will never visit this place again!
The rooms are very clean and the soap is way better than other hotels. The rooms even have Direct TV. Good place if you go to school or work near by. Staff is very nice as well

Liked my visit very well. Staff is very nice and polite. The room I had 117 was very spacious. Has a bathroom with a locking door and a jacuzzi tube in the main room shaped as a heart with jets. Bed was very comfortable and got a great nights sleep.
Upon checking in I made a reservation online and the total was $100.57 well the guy charged me $157.00, then acted like he didn’t know how to fix it so he put it off on the owner to fix following morning, after that we go to the room which wasn’t all that great for a hundred and fifty seven dollars. Go take a shower and look up and there’s clearly BLACK MOLD. Are you serious? $100 plus for the rooms and it’s quite busy and you can’t keep up the cleanliness. Housekeeping is really lagging on doing their job 🤬😤
The front desk service was okay. Could have been better but the room i must say was really nice & pretty. I love the decorations of the room from the nice comfort bed down to the wallpaper and the design of the bathroom & I would definitely stay there again if I ever come back to Riverside. Definitely give this place a A+
Love this place! Very nice staff and goes above and beyond to please. Their were a few times there were rowdy people down in the parking lot otherwise not bad.
Decent location and price. Very weird shower fixtures, took a long time to figure out how to get hot water. Room was stuffy and hot when we got in, took a while to cool down with AC on full blast. Beds were standard hotel comfort. Plentiful electric outlets. Mini fridge and microwave appreciated.
If the rooms werent priced to my liking I would not stay here the customer service is horrible! My first night staying around 7pm i asked if someone could bring toilet paper to the room and he said that I had to wait 30min and that i had all day to ask him... now Im trying to check into a room and Im being told that check in is at 2pm meanwhile the last 2 times Ive been here i was able to check in at 12pm. Ridiculous
Its was ok we got the suite with jacuzzi like the room except the bathroom had no shower, the vent made so much noise, the bed I cant complain it was very comfortable
Clean, comfortable and quiet. Plenty of free parking. No clock in the room, which is kind of weird. , and the TV is from the 1970s. But besides that. A great bang for your buck. I would totally stay here again.
Hot tubs in the room was awesome. The ladies that work here are very nice and accommodating. My husband and I had a lot of fun. There are bars within walking distance and liquor stores and the Dennys. Pool wasnt open which is strange because as we all know the weather is crazy in so Cali so it should have been year wind. But no biggie we still had the hot tubs.
Nostalgic stay in this classic motor lodge, motel is in transition for upgrades and the price currently is reflective. Was clean and The night desk attendant was friendly and accommodating to any needs. Multiple security camera system made me feel good about leaving my rental car. wanted a post card to sends to my family from here but they dont have them yet, could swear Ive seen this place movies! WiFi didnt work on my laptop, but worked on my cellphone?? Overall if they keep up the good work and stay on it this will be a little gold mine for this family run business.
There is no breakfast.. There was only one face cloth in a room for two people. The TV did not work. There was not even a box of Kleenex. The room was fairly clean but small and quite dated. I would not recommend.
The rooms at this place look nothing like the pictures online! $159 for 1 night in what they call a suite...mmmmm no. Pull out bed is all springs, old fashion box tv, and the bathroom well smelled like musky mildew as they have a leak in the wall so its bubbling and falling apart along with a puddle on the bathroom floor!Stayed 3 nights! Were outa here
My name is Doug and i had the most wonderful experience while staying there it was peaceful comfortable place Ive been in a long time and i spend most of my time in hotels. I give this motel i give a five star rating.
The room was clean but the pillows and bedding were in poor condition and the bed was very uncomfortable. The Wi-Fi was great. It was noisy and there was a flickering light outside my room that was a distraction while trying to sleep. I think if the beds could be upgraded and the bedding and pillows replaced it would help.
When I read Lodge i right away though Motel,but I wanted to stay positive. The room looked ok at first,but then saw the bed stain,then hair in the sheets,bathroom did looked clean,but nasty bed. They need to improve quite a few things.👎
When booking I checked the website to be sure that pets were allowed. I then also called before booking my room be be sure that pets are welcomed at this hotel. The women said yes several times. She then called me back after I had booked my room and given all of my personal information... and wouldnt you know... she still stated that they will allow my dog to stay at the hotel. She repeated several times No, dont worry, you can bring your pet.I then got a call from the manager stating I was not able to bring my pet and I would need to find lodging elsewhere (this is of course without even bothering to cancel my reservation). I let him know that their website clearly showed they allowed pets and he stated We will not honor that and hung up on me.I called back rather upset (the Holidays are a stressful time and when you lose a family member as well of course it is that much worse) asking to have a contact for the owner or the corporate office. I was given a fake number.I cannot believe how horribly I was treated. Clearly the website states that PETS ARE ALLOWED. They did not even bother to ask what breed my animal was (a black lab).What horrible customer service! How could the entire staff not know what was is up and what way is down?
It was kinda small. But it is a historic hotel. All updated. New everything. Fridge, microwave. No shampoo or soaps. That was a major bummer. A friend had come to visit and the office staff was at door questioning me. Not cool. Other that that, alright. A little pricey considering so small.
Checked in my room and it was different from the pictures that were in the internet.they are old, smells really bad and there was blood in the bed! Not to mention to guys were standing outside smoking pot . I know they are not cleaning the rooms! We ended up staying somewhere elses that was better and cheaper
We walked into the lobby today when it was 100 degrees outside & the AC wasnt on. There is no free breakfast even though the hotel website says there is. The hot tub & pool are under maintenance. They said we could lay next to the pool but not go in it. We had to try 3 different rooms to find a non smoking room that didnt reek of smoke. The phone doesnt work. The bed is lumpy & uncomfortable. We just woke up to bed bugs in our bed! We are leaving now!! This place is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at.
Nice big rooms love the Jacuzzi suites, we had a air conditioner issue and the staff moved out room immediatly. Only had thing is they accused us of stealing towels which we didnt when we moved rooms must have been misplaced

Nicely located downtown. Convenient to most of what Riverside has to offer. Lackluster rooms with antiquated televisions, but you get exactly what you pay for. Quick service and no-frills rooms. If you need a place to stay, this is an option.
Im giving this hotel a five-star because the changes went through during his remodel is a complete 180 now my last stay I would give that a 1/2 to Star but its not because of service its just I got stuck with the smoking room and it was horrible it smelled like an ashtray other than that the rooms are great that would just never accept a smoking room again
I was told the price was 95 for a night. I booked it for my husband, he only paid $85. Well the room was terrible. The bed was gross and the chair was the same way. He said it was so filthy he left the room he couldn’t sleep in it. GROSS !
We payed different price than advertised, the put us in a smelly, outdated room. The phone or cable didnt work so we asked to switch rooms. For $90 we at least wanted cable. We switched rooms cable still didnt work. The young lady had a attitude about it like it was our fault. Would have switched hotels if it wasnt so late in the night.
A.C. literally fell apart. No plate in the microwave. Half the power plugs didnt work. Brackish liquid bubbled up in the sink at night. Chair was uncomfortable. Blackout curtains poorly installed. No breakfast, or laundry. Zip outa ten, do not recommend.
I go often and so long as you are respectful to them and your room, you are treated that much better each time and can benefit from doing so
The staff was helpful and nice but a good majority of people who stay certainly seem like the shady type. I also believe there are people living there?? It was strange. The stay was convenient but I dont think I would come back.

Ahhh, the Thunderbird... If youve been a Riverside resident for a while, you probably know of the Thunderbird Lodge. Located on University, less than a minute south of the 91, its located close enough to downtown to make everything accessible, even if youre walking. The Thunderbird had been renovated in the last couple of years, and theyve definitely made some improvements, but dont go expecting a 5 start hotel experience. The bed was comfortable, the sheets clean. Amenities were stark, the room having a mini fridge, an old crt television, and a somewhat functional shower(couldnt toggle the different spray modes). Otherwise, its a nice place, easy to find, close to anything youd need to find downtown, and relatively affordable
Wonderful helpful staff. This is the second time I have stayed and I will keep coming here in the future. The honeymoon suite is fantastic. The only complaint I have is the wi-fi can be a bit hard to use with a mobile device, but it does work and work well.
Great motel for the price, clean comfy beds, nice new looking furniture, nice bathroom, solid wifi, feels very safe, and a cool neon sign to boot! Only complaint would be the tv was old and the top volume was very quite, but would stay again!
A 1960s motel that has been fully remodeled. Rooms are colorful compared to the standard white walls brown desk. Great valve.

Thunderbird lodge is a vary nice place with a old world feel with lots of nice helpful staff that feel like old friends. The rooms are to die for beautiful and cheap....yeah it s a big gem. Oh check out the nice art works of riverside in lobby i love it .
A frequent traveller to Riverside, my partner and I enjoy its simplicity and fairly great price! Would recommend as a option if you are in the UCR area or just need a place to crash around downtown.

The hot tub in the room had dirty water coming out. Room reeked of smoke and other smells. Bed bugs, or some other type of bug making me constantly itchy and I have itchy bumps all over my body. Dont stay here.

2022-05-26The staff was very accommodating and moved us rooms the first night because of noise. Then when we upgraded to the jacuzzi room they let us go straight to it at 11 cleaning it early for us. The only reason its not a 5 is because the jacuzzi didnt work but soaking in the hot water was a treat. Also the beds got softer with each move!

2021-12-09A total rip off. I would recommend. This was the only motel with vacancies in the area at the time I stayed & we were charged $175 for an outdated, smelly, dusty room with an old tube TV & dirty carpeting. People were also lurking around the parking lot

2021-12-31Ive stayed here many times you get what you pay for. So if you feel like youre paying too much ask them for the room with a TV but no volume, if you still feel like youre paying too much, ask for a room with no TV. If you still feel like youre paying too much, ask for a room no AC. Like I said you get what you pay for

2021-06-26We got the king suite with a hot tub. The hot tub was pretty cool. However, the jets shut off randomly and the walls around it were falling apart. The owners were very kind and helpful. The TV was from the 90s, very quiet but it worked! I would likely stay here again.

2021-09-02While this hotel, Thunderbird Lodge, isnt in the best area, it makes up for it by having a comforting atmosphere and very well mannered staff. Ive stayed at many different hotels and motels in the area that are within the same price range and this place definitely holds its ground at being on of the best.

2020-12-24My hubby and i got the jacuzzi room for a night. The jacuzzi was cute and in the shape of a heart. The only problem is when we first turned it on the jets didnt want to work. I guess they were clogged or something. But my hubby and the lady in the office worked together to clean them out. Once they fixed though all was well. Very polite and helpful office lady
